Reviews
The hotel is generally well-liked for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, the high cost of parking and the lack of daily room cleaning are frequent complaints.

- Expensive parking
- No daily room cleaning

This was an amazing hotel to stay at. It was in the middle of a beautiful college campus for the deaf and heard of hearing. The staff are very friendly and helped me and my friends as soon as we arrived. It was so quiet and it was a nice walk to the market about a half mile away. I would definitely recommend staying here. We didn't use the metro but the Ubers found the location just fine.
- 4/5
This is a safe, nice hotel on a college campus in a great location of DC. The staff was friendly and professional. The only thing we had an issue is with allergies. Seemed like a dust issue as the rooms all have the air conditioning with recycled air. Overall great property.
- 5/5
If I ever have to go back to Washington DC for any type of events, this is where I would prefer to stay. The rooms were spotless. The staff was amazing union market is steps away.
- 5/5
I stayed at Kellogg Conference Hotel for a week and had a very good experience. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the service was great. I also appreciated the shuttle to Union Station, which made getting around much easier. The location is interesting and unique, especially being close to Gallaudet University and the Deaf community area. Overall, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend it.

Everything is Awesome.
- 5/5
The hotel was perfect for our needs, and we wouldn't happily stay there again.
- 2/5
Room size was good The front desk per was extremely rude, shouldn’t be in hospitality business. Parking garage is far.

I tried to call the Customer Service for Booking.com to cancel but terrible service I will nEVEr make any reservation with booking ever because the hotel can’t cancel my reservation and etc. sHiT
- 2/5
Worst pillows ever! Garage didn’t have a height limit sign and we damaged our van. Breakfast would have cost an additional $20 each. Desk people neglected to give us the parking pass we didn’t know we would need and got charged $25 gor our “free” parking.
- 4/5
Be sure to ask about the pass to get out to Union Market...you can't get out that way without the pass....which unhelpfully they don't mention.
- 5/5
Excellent location in DC. Very nice university campus surroundings close to union market. A very good value and would choose to stay there again
- 5/5
Great stay and the location is perfect, being on campus of Gallaudet University makes it so convenient. Would definitely recommend.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed the staff! Stay was very friendly! Offered me a luggage cart upon my arrival and helped me to the room. All very nice upon entrance. The room was clean and nice. The hotel is on a campus so we felt very safe there, good atmosphere, felt nice being in a protected community! Only thing is there were no food options at the hotel, that would’ve made it 11/10 but overall the stay was very nice and I would book again!
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
The property was very clean and the staff was great. Would recommend this property to all my friends and family. ❤️❤️❤️
- 3/5
Loved the crew and rooms. Biggest problem is that they are inside the university land. Getting in and out is a tad cumbersome having to get a separate card. At nights uber was not able to enter to drop as the gates of the university was closed.

Being a quick walk to Union Market is very convenient. Also very quick walk to the NoMa train station. Vibrant neighborhood and as a bonus you get to support the college!

This could have easily been a rough stay, but the staff was very accommodating and kind. Thanks to everyone, especially Twanda.

The university does wonderful work integrating students and personnel with disabilities, their mission, attitude, commitment to the environment and society is commendable, please stay here and help them to achieve their goals and dreams

Excellent facility, helpful staff, spacious rooms
- 5/5
The Hotel is located on a historic campus and the grounds, landscape and buildings makes the stay a unique experience.
- 3/5
The hotel had a lot of accessible features which, while not applicable to me, I appreciated. The room was a bit worn down (carpets, furniture, window shades, etc).
- 5/5
Nice and cozy, on the campus
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 1/5
Terrible! You can’t get to this hotel without being a student. The campus is locked up
- 4.5/5
It was quiet and the staff were excellent and informative. I found the room to be clean and the beds comfortable. The workout room was also clean and well organized and the equipment was in excellent repair. We really enjoyed the bussing to Union Station. It definitely made the trip much easier for us to get around the D.C. area. There was no place in the hotel to do laundry. I would have liked to have had a soft drink & or snack vending machine on the 5th floor.

Room was clean and nicely appointed. Very comfortable stay. Would definitely return.

Expected more from the advertised “continental breakfast”, which was too costly for what was being offered.
- 5/5
Clean room, excellent front desk
- 3/5
When check in then go to room and found out there no pillow on the bed and I report front staff and give me another room but found out toilet is not working again then notify to staff again there kind of waste time for nothing that I am not appreciated the room.

Very clean .thought its free breakfast but its not:
- 5/5
Great location and staff. Will definitely stay here again
- 3.5/5
No housekeeping. Would be nice to have coffee set up in lobby.
- 3.5/5
Good location, shuttle to union station, able to check in early for reasonable cost No housekeeping. Would be nice to have coffee set up in lobby.
- 3/5
They don’t tell you that parking is not close, in a creepy parking lot, paying $45+$8 (parking tax for overnight parking)+1(parker membership)=$54 per night to park. There is a cool food hall nearby but that’s about it. The hotel accepts pets to keep that in mind.
- 4/5
Awful. $20 for cold eggs, white toast and sausage? you cant even get coffee for free!!!! they will charge you $4.45 (with tax) for a coffee!!. in hotel? really?!
- 5/5
Great nights
- 5/5
everything was nice
- 4/5
It was so nice, and it is a college campus, so it is really safe. Pet-friendly and good breakfast. Parking is way too expensive. No need to charge $50 a night when there is plenty of parking.
- 1/5
On our first night, we were informed that the in-room lock boxes were not working, so I requested that no housekeeping or cleaning services enter our room to ensure our belongings would be safe. Despite this clear request, the day before checkout we returned to find our room door unlocked and left open. This was very concerning, as it put our belongings and our sense of security at risk. While we understand mistakes can happen, our request was clearly communicated and not honored.

Great property and Robert on the night staff had exceptional customer service skills and got us taken care of when our initial reservations fell through elsewhere. I will definitely come back and stay here next time I visit in DC!

Very clean hotel. The staff is friendly and helpful, the elevator is fast and they have a really nice market with pastries and an espresso machine
- 5/5
I was able to check in early, the hotel was very clean and the staff was very helpful! I really appreciated the free shuttle to union station.
- 5/5
Clean room. Kind staff. Food options available
- 5/5
Room was not fancy but clean, fluffy towels, hotel lobby area was nice with lots of seating, in quiet pretty area very close to Union market
- 5/5
Best hotel!
- 5/5
This hotel was clean and comfortable! A very nice affordable option.
- 2/5
I loved the place and the fact that the environment id developed in sign language because the institution is specialized in that. Unfortunately, when I arrived the hotel they didn’t have the room I requested and they gave me a great room instead. I called because I wasn’t going to be able to get there on time for check in but I paid the night anyways just to check in early in the morning as is supposed. The double queen room was un available. They change for a king size bedroom. The next day I went to front desk to switch as they promised the room would be ready. It was. The “manager” who I spoke with was so full of himself. He threat to fire the attendant who assigned me the king room because it was “more expensive” and charged me extra for occupying that room. I didn’t made a claim because he was an ass but the place is a very noble cause. I recommend it but just be careful.
- 5/5
Nice room and a short walk to bars and restaurants
- 4/5

Parking with handicapped tag was free; otherwise, it wld've been $60/day. Sprinkler system broke 2nd night and we were evacuated to another hotel. But mgmt and staff were very accommodating. We were VERY pleased with our brief stay.
- 5/5
Everyone was exceptionally aw
- 4/5
Staff is great. We love this hotel because it has plenty of self parking, so not having to wait for the valet to get your car every time saves a ton of time. The hotel is within the Gallaudet campus which is beautiful and feels very safe. The only issue we had were with the room itself. The furniture and fixtures are a bit dated/worn, though the beds are very comfortable. The sink drain was frozen in the bathroom, the toilet flusher was stuck. We managed to get around these things since we were only there one night and it would not deter us from coming again.
- 5/5
The staff was outstanding—everyone from the front desk to the room cleaning & maintenance! The campus and environment was also very clean and outstanding. I’ll only stay at Kellogg on my visits to Washington DC!!
- 5/5

in a very loud busy world this is one of the best places we have had the pleasure to stay. a true jewel.
- 5/5
I always enjoy my stays here. The breakfast isn't free.
- 5/5
Very clean hotel, friendly staff. Only complaint is $60 /night for parking.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 3/5
Bathroom was outdated and bathtub was poorly kept. Staff was pleasant overall and the property itself was decent.
- 5/5
Didn't offer ALS parking close to facility
- 4/5
Thank you for your service
- 5/5
Ideally located. Very friendly and professional staff.
- 2/5
This hotel doesn’t seem very handicap, friendly. Not only that when we got upstairs there was poop already on our toilet paper roll that had not yet been touched by us, gross.
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Great property
- 5/5
Location, as advertised easy to get to see the sights. Campus is amazing, staff is helpful and friendly. Rooms were excellent.
- 5/5
This was a great option with the hotel on the college campus for convenience to visit with grandkids but also walking distance for great restaurants. Very clean, friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend it.
- 5/5
Clean, friendly and great location! Walking distance to amazing food and drinks at Union Market. Probably the friendly part of the city we've been in. Covered garage parking was a bit of a surprise at a cost of $60 per night. But, the room price made it well worth it. Highly recommend!
- 3/5
The staff was good at front counter breakfast person did not bring everything i ordered. Shower did not work in the room i had. Pretty disapointing stay
- 5/5
Clean quiet. Excellent place to stay
- 5/5
Beautiful place! Amazing staff!
- 5/5
Robert at the reception desk was especially helpful as he ensured we understood everything associated with our stay (for example, Wi-Fi, parking, nearby eating), including escorting us to the pathway/gate access to the nearby eating location. He did all of that with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Although everything rates five star, there were two irritants: no maid service during our stay and a non-working drink vending machine one of the nights (repaired by the next night). We highly recommend the Kellogg Conference Hotel at Gallaudet University.
- 3/5
The hotel riom was little outdated and very small

Beautiful facility inside Galludet University. Allowable price and free parking in the middle of Washington DC. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The room was large and had many amenities. My stay was quiet and peaceful. I will definitely be back!
- 5/5
It was a wonderful stay the parking was just kinda far to walk to not really safe for a woman who is alone and may have to walk to and from the hotel to the parking lot. Others then that it was wonderful!!!
- 5/5
Very quiet and clean.
- 3/5
No parking nearby, old building,
- 5/5
Negative car garage pretty far and long walk to hotel then go back get car
- 4/5
The hotel's facilities are beautiful and cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The room was clean, comfortable, and very quiet, making it an excellent place to rest after a busy day in the city. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and proficient in sign language for the deaf, enhancing the inclusive experience.
- 3/5
The good thing is it is on Gallaudet's property.
- 5/5
This is a great hotel for families or anyone who wants to explore DC. The hotel is located on a beautiful campus, walking distance to Union Market and they provide a shuttle to Union Station, very convenient. The staff is exceptional and so helpful! So warm and welcoming. They go above and beyond. The room was very clean and comfortable. Loved our stay and can’t wait to visit again!
- 5/5
I felt very safe on the campus. Beautiful area, Union market across the street.
- 5/5
Accomdating staff and clean rooms
- 4/5
Not bad at all.
- 3/5
Staff was very welcoming. Room was okay, air conditioner was very low. Would consider going back.
- 2/5
Our first room had no functional A/C on a 90° day, so they moved us to what they claimed was the only other room vacant in the entire hotel, which was a wheelchair accessible room. The roll-in shower was installed wrong so it was angled in a way that the water flows out onto the bathroom floor instead of down the drain. We had to make a dam with the three towels they had in the room. Then every day for the next 4 days we had to request new towels because housekeeping never once showed up. They said it's because they only come every 3 days, but it didn't happen in the 5 days we were there.
- 4/5
We love that the conference center is removed from the city streets, is quiet, and close to our daughter's residence and easy to get to from the North. The outside patio bar was a nice addition. We have stayed here many times. The only issues were that the bath/showers are extremely slippery and no bath mat is provided, and the parking fee seems very high considering the location which is a couple of blocks from the actual hotel. I have a bad knee so the location of the parking lot was literally a pain. All staff was courteous and helpful.
- 5/5
Located on the college campus which is quiet and well maintained. About a mile from Union Station and there is a free shuttle. Our room had a very comfortable bed and a view of the capitol dome.
- 5/5
Great location, clean, comfortable bedding, kind and helpful front desk, reasonably priced, and a beautiful campus. Very walkable within 30 mins of the National Mall and all the museums we visited. Highly recommend to anyone visiting DC.
- 5/5
Love that there was security regulating who came onto campus/hotel property. Very nice staff and within walking distance to the cutest market and coffee shops!
- 3/5
The description of the amenities said there was a laundry on the premises. There is NO LAUNDRY. Very disappointed. The only thing that helped me was the shuttle. That was descent.
- 3/5
Beds were comfortable, but rooms were way over-priced. For the amount we paid, I would expect at least a microwave in the room, free breakfast, and guest laundry facilities. None of these were present.
- 5/5
Great place, great people! Nice location & great shuttle service to Metro as well!!
- 5/5
A slight hiccup at check-in, the ADA room we requested was not ready. Staff was super apologetic, accommodating and made sure that we were happy. Room was available the next day and needless to say it was perfect for my mom and her special needs. We will be back when we return to Washington DC.
- 1/5
Terrible
- 5/5
Beautiful property to stay on and very comfortable beds, just be advised that parking is relatively expensive, but seemed safe and secure.
- 5/5
Very positive experience, especially with Miriam at the front desk. She got us into our room early and was incredibly helpful. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 5/5
Morning walk friendly and peaceful enjoyed my stay and all the guest amenities.
- 5/5
We came for our son’s graduation! We had a great stay!!
- 5/5
My stay was a 10 out of 10. The staff was friendly, my room was quiet, and the hotel was in a great locations. There was a shuttle service, which gives it an 11 out of 10.
- 4/5
La puerta había que levantarla para que cerrara el primer día no nos dimos cuenta y nos fuimos a pasear con la puerta abierta
- 5/5
Nights close to Capitol and co freshman offices — Lots of choices of restaurants will stay there again .
- 5/5
I love how beautiful and quiet Gallaudet University is and how close to public transportation and shopping it is. I will definitely stay here when I visit again. The staff is also very helpful and wonderful.
- 5/5
The property is on a beautiful area.
- 1/5
They charged me twice for parking for the wrong amount. I've spent hours on the phone with them and it's been 20 days since I returned home from Washington and this issue has not been resolved. I feel like I am still in Washington.

- 3/5
Hotel worker tried to enter room while I was indisposed - thankfully I had deadbolt engaged. Elevator broke down - had to use service elevator.
- 5/5
Place was nice. Clean comfy, I would take my family there again.
- 5/5
Lovely hotel. Exceptionally clean and staff helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Outstanding service and grounds
- 5/5
Hotel was clean, quiet and nice. The shuttle to Union station worked great. They offer an app to track the shuttle. There was a food court called Union market close with lots of choices. The breakfast at the hotel was out only regret. We were left alone for 20 minutes, we finally left without good. We were leaving south on Amtrak, so there location was superb.
- 5/5
This was a lovely place for our family to stay for a short visit in DC
- 5/5
Kellogg is a hidden gem in DC. While off the touristed areas of the city, the university offers a safe and beautiful option connected to a hip art district that is alive with activity. The staff knows their stuff and are generous with their service. No accommodation was left unoffered.
- 5/5
Very unique hotel
- 5/5
This hotel property is located on a school campus, so the location is safe and secure. There is also free shuttle to union station so you can quickly get to public transportation.
- 4/5
Clean room, pleasant staff, nice property and pretty view from room.
- 5/5
Lovvveeee
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and courteous. Unique in that it is located in the middle f a college campus full of Victorian era buildings. Could use more signage or other information about hotel facilities. Convenient to Capital Hill area, but a healthy walk to access nearest Metro station.
- 4/5
Only improvements: it would have been nice to know about the need for a key for side property door & how to get it. Elevator wasn’t working. Shower head was difficult to use.
- 5/5
Very nice property at Gallaudet
- 5/5
It was great overall. I would stay at this place again.

- 5/5
A unique spot on a beautiful college campus! What a great place to stay.
- 5/5
Really enjoyed my stay!!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Kellogg Conference Hotel. We didn't realize it was at the deaf university, which was pretty cool. It's quiet on campus. Others have mentioned it is an inconvenience that the gate to Union Market is locked after 6 so you have to walk around the campus to get there. We had drop us off, but I guess they are use to driving on campus to come to the hotel. There is a shuttle bus to Union Station, but could never find its hours. Room was spacious and the heat was fine. We will most definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great location Nice service
- 5/5
Everyone was nice and the place smelled great, beautiful and quiet area
- 4/5
Very historical place . Well managed and has good security. Parking is 50$/ night
- 5/5
I love this hotel!! I feel like it's a well kept secret of Dc ... fairly close to everything. Nice and quiet .. in walking distance to so many restaurants. Metro is fairly close but they offer a shuttle to union station. I have stayed here a few times and will continue. The front desk staff is sooo friendly and willing to help!!!
- 4/5
Had i realized that, I would have booked somewhere else. The campus is pretty and quiet.
- 4/5
Union market being across the street was great.
- 5/5
Goodnplace to stay
- 3/5
The property overall was pretty quiet except the last night where there was a soccer game going on till almost 10. The bathrooms are not great. Shower floor was slippery like an ice rink, they gave you a towel to put on the shower floor, nasty and cold. The toilet seat didn’t fit and the sink faucet leaked all over the top of the vanity flooding everything. The Bistro breakfast buffet was overpriced for sub-standard basic breakfast items. $61.00 for two people. Ridiculous. It is close to the union market but on Sunday you can’t get to it because the gates are locked and the hotel keycard didn’t open it. We had to stand there waiting for a student to enter so we could get out and again to get back in or else we would have to walk for several blocks around campus to get to the main entrance and then around to the market.
- 1/5
Everything from checking in (some very important info was skippped) to the one coffee for 2 people to last 2 days. The ridiculous parking fee from 4pm to sunday morning 9am $150 ! For parking 5 minutes away. No room service. That fact also wasnt mentioned for $190 per night total shamefull. I stayed at $75 a night with better service and a breakfast.
- 4/5
The stay was comfortable enough for the price and since I was only there for a night. I wish I could have contolled the temp in the room.
- 5/5
Everything is walkable. Parking is available nearby for a fee. Metro is nearby as well. Overall, we had a pleasant trip.
- 5/5
Love the ease of parking and the hotel's location on the beautiful gated campus. Beds are extremely comfortable. The only complaint was only 1 packet of coffee was provided for a room sleeping 4 guests. Also the hairdryer was so weak it was not usable. Suggest bringing your own.
- 3/5
We’ve had a room already with no hot water or the room is too hot. You can’t get the air on to get the temp down in the room very hard to sleep. The price is good. They offer free fruit and it’s convenient as we have a daughter at Gallaudet and it’s right on campus.
- 5/5
Excellent experience
- 5/5
I’ve been to this hotel several times and it’s my go-to when I come to the area— always pleasant staff, nice amenities, nice grounds, and Gaullist University has an interesting and important history, culture and focus. Also, it’s much more economical than many other chain hotels in the area. I love it.
- 5/5
Very comfortable living envionment. I will choose this hotel again next time in DC.
- 5/5
Amazing. Love the area. Love the hotel. Quiet. Staff helpful and friendly. Very clean. My new go to hotel.
- 5/5
Great place to stay while visiting my children at Gallaudet. Union market is next door. Easy access to go there.
- 3/5
There was one girl at the front desk who’s very sweet and was honestly the highlight of my stay.
- 5/5
Weather could have been warmer❄️❄️❄️
- 3/5
Pictures definitely helped this property in the choosing process. Hotel IRL was a disappointment. It was very outdated. Shower was dirty and water pressure weak. Even thought about leaving mid stay on the first night. Bed linen and pillows stained and dingy. TVs outdated with very little channels to choose from. For the price that was paid, the hotel and the stay did not seem to match the value. Hotel safe was nice and welcoming but would not return to this property.
- 3/5
Some of the gates to the campus where the hotel is located were closed. So there was only one gate access to the hotel. The room was cleaned only once in 3 days stay. This is unacceptable.
- 1/5
Reserved a room with two beds paid for it but they don’t have a room with 2 beds. We traveled out of town came in late and struggling to get accommodated
- 5/5
Unique in that it is on the Gallaudet University campus; has a shuttle from the metro stop; clean, friendly,
- 5/5
Wed used the shuttle everyday. Very convenient connection to Union Station
- 4/5
Hotel was empty and the staff was sleepy. Seems like it would be a great place when it is staffed for activity
- 5/5
Convenience to East Capital St. Is perfect, as is the hotel’s location near Union Mkt and many other eateries, we love staying on this quiet, safe campus!
- 5/5
Friendly staff; clean property
- 5/5
I was one of the most amazing experiences in a hotel, truly unique, one of a kind, and I loved every minute of it. The staff were absolutely amazing and the hotel is beautiful Highly recommended
- 1/5
I booked a stay at Kellogg Hotel through Expedia and fully prepaid online. However, upon arrival, I was informed that the hotel was fully booked and was redirected to Hotel Nell. I was assured by Kellogg Hotel staff that my stay at Hotel Nell would be covered entirely by them. However, two days after my return, I noticed a charge from Hotel Nell on my account. I’ve reached out to both hotels multiple times, but the issue remains unresolved. Now, Kellogg Hotel claims the charge is my responsibility, contrary to their original promise. I feel misled and would like this issue addressed promptly.
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay! Our room was very nice and clean.
