The Riggs Hotel is highly praised for its excellent location, friendly and professional staff, and clean, comfortable rooms. However, some guests have expressed concerns about the small size of the bathrooms and lack of storage space in the rooms.

I loved this place! The nicest hotel I’ve stayed in! Everything was perfect. After I made my reservation my sisters decided to stay there too and they thanked me for telling them about it. Just the best!

The hotel was beautiful. Room was quiet and beautiful. Bed was very comfortable and staff was amazing
- 5/5
This place is amazing! The best location! Really unique rooms and decor. Very quiet. Complimentary bottled water each night and complimentary champagne at check-in! Also an amazing speakeasy in the basement and great breakfast restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Spent our wedding weekend at this hotel. Breakfast was great, room was clean, valet was kind. The staff was super accommodating

Otherwise it was a nice stay and it is a nice hotel. The speakeasy downstairs was very nice and food was really good at cafe Riggs

This property is beautiful in architecture and is in a great location.
- 5/5
They offered a glass of champagne upon check-in which was very nice. Loved the robes and slippers in the room. Rooms are quiet and well appointed. I loved having a table and chairs that were comfortable. Some suggestions- can the complementary in-room coffee have big cups instead of just the espresso-size cups. I made two and it was still NOT enough. And, can the in-room thermostat work? Mine was turned off and set at 68 degrees. BRRRRR.... And lighting in the room could have been better. Mostly reading lamps that were VERY BRIGHT (which is welcome), but how about a real lamp instead on one of the two bedside tables?
- 5/5
We were there for a short visit to go to the White House. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly from the time of arrival to checkout and anything in between. We will definitely be back! Thank you Riggs!
- 4/5
Everything about the Riggs was delightful except the bar. The service was extremely slow with indifferent service. The room was great, check in was fast and friendly, and the front desk was extremely helpful. We will stay there again, but the bar really was pretty bad.

Passable
- 5/5
We were welcomed with a glass of champagne or rose. Our room was comfortable and delightfully decorated, including thoughtful and useful items like an umbrella and tote bag. We ordered a quick dinner in Cafe Riggs. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. Staff was attentive and very friendly.

Review: Banking on Perfection at Riggs Washington DCRating: ★★★★★If you appreciate architecture with a narrative, Riggs Washington DC is arguably the most impressive hotel in the District. Located in the former Riggs National Bank building (once known as the "Bank of Presidents"), this hotel manages to be grand and historic without feeling like a dusty museum. It is bold, colorful, and meticulously designed. The Highlights of the Stay:Design Details: The "bank" theme is everywhere, but it’s done with incredible taste. The minibars are designed to look like vintage safes, and the guest rooms feature "jewel-box" aesthetics with rich velvets and Carrara marble. The "First Ladies" Suites: If you’re splurging, these suites are iconic. Each is inspired by a different First Lady’s personality—the Ida McKinley suite, with its vibrant pink palette and floral accents, is a total standout. Silver Lyan: Located in the original bank vault, this subterranean cocktail bar by Ryan Chetiyawardana is a destination in itself. The vibe is moody, the drinks are experimental, and sitting inside a literal vault adds a layer of "cool" you won't find anywhere else in Penn Quarter. Café Riggs: The ground-floor brasserie is stunning, featuring soaring ceilings and original Corinthian columns. It’s the perfect spot for a "power breakfast" or a late-night martini. Unbeatable Location: You are directly across from the National Portrait Gallery and within easy walking distance of the National Mall and

This is a gorgeous hotel converted from the famous Riggs National Bank of Washington DC. It is elegant, comfortable and accomodating. The food at Cafe Rigg (we had breakfast) was superb. The hotel is close to Metro (Gallery Place), museums and theatres as well aas several really nice restaurants. We will stay here whenever we come to downtown DC.
- 5/5
The only meal we had at the hotel was a brunch at Café Riggs. Everything we ate was spectacular. The food was fresh, imaginative, and delicious.
- 5/5
Our room was very nice. And they upgraded us to a street view. Loved the Cafe Riggs bar area and had a wonderful breakfast one of the mornings. Staff was very friendly. And we loved the location!
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful with our toddler. Had AC unit issue with our room and it was promptly addressed. Looking forward to staying here again. Great location.
- 5/5
The Riggs is a beautiful historic hotel. The location is close to everything and it feels very safe. The staff is very professional and welcoming . Our bed and pillows were heavenly. We had dinner at the elegant Riggs restaurant and it was delicious. The restaurant staff was exceptional. Just some honest observations: Our lovely room was small but for two nights it was all we needed. The bathroom had minimal counter space.

Loved this hotel. Team was amazing! Ambiance was over the top! Food was very good. Super clean and super lovely. Plan on staying there again in November. Plus great location!
- 4/5
We were there on a weekend and the whole place was rented out for weddings. Closed half the elevators to normal guests and closed the main bars to normal guests for some time. Very disruptive. We won’t come back on a weekend.
- 5/5
Really classy hotel with wonderful bar and restaurant. Felt like you were in the middle of all there is to see in the city. Loved it!

We had a great stay! Positives: Friendly staff, comfortable room and bed, nice shower. Things that need work: Electical in our room had issues, fridge and coffee didn’t work first day. Internet is slow and had streaming issues trying to use Netflix.

We had a great weekend getaway at the Riggs. Would recommend. Clean and comfortable. High marks for staff.

The staff, the hotel decor and location of g Ty be hotel to my events in PennnQuarter Particularly in the cafe (Isaiah and Diego) and security/front door team Extensive, ongoing noise in the late afternoon on my hallway; sounded like construction or the laying and securing of a new rug My deluxe king room was very dark (courtyard facing) For two guests there is plenty of room for another upholstered chair The facility fee, which I was not aware of at booking or check in, seems excessive

We booked a Deluxe room and requested a higher floor at check-in. Nothing was mentioned, and we were assigned a room on the lowest floor, which was disappointing. The room itself was clean, but the bathroom layout is quite impractical. The shower is located behind a door shared with the toilet, and the light is controlled by a sensor that turns off automatically when the door is open do you have to close it and the space is super small. This makes something as simple as taking a shower far from relaxing. Housekeeping was also underwhelming. While the room was cleaned, items were not properly reset— for example, we left a steamer out and it remained in the exact same place every day without being put back. Additionally, I reached out to Guest Relations via email for assistance with reservations and never received any response, which I found highly unprofessional for a hotel claiming a 5-star standard. Overall, while the hotel is decent, it does not meet the expectations of a true 5-star property.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay.
- 5/5
Family of 4 very happy to stay here. Would return. Thank you
- 5/5
Most beautiful place I’ve everything stayed I will be back soon
- 3/5
The hotel lacked a coffee bar or a quick pick-up place for coffee/snacks. The room was warm and very dark, even with the curtains open and the lights on. There were no drawers or shower caps. The hotel was so lovely, these were disappointing aspects
- 3/5
Limited room amenities, such as drawers, robes, shower, caps, and regular coffee. was very dark, even with all the lights on. Service what’s wonderful
- 3/5
Our main issue was that there were no drawers whatsoever in the room. Secondly, even with all the lights turned on, the room was dark. Unless we were sleeping, this was frustrating. I wish they had a coffee bar, since the restaurant was typically busy. We finally received maid service the day before we left - however, they didn't replace the coffee mugs.
- 4.5/5
Location is great, close to everything and close to restaurants. Beautiful rooms and comfortable beds. There isn’t a “normal” reception area , like tables and couches where you can stay downstairs. By the reception here there is just 1 small table. There is a bar/restaurant across though.
- 5/5
Beautiful! Excellent location!! Staff very friendly and helpful!
- 5/5
Friendly helpful staff
- 5/5
Excellent experience. Had no issues. Friendly front desk staff. Cool decor and quiet room. So glad it didn’t smell like pot or cigarettes. Nice location. Would return.
- 5/5
Great location! Lovely rooms! The gym is nice and there is a bar/restaurant and a speakeasy. This was my second stay and I’ll always stay here now when I come to DC!
- 4/5
All of our coffee pods were decaf and the bathroom toilet paper holder was loose and fell onto my ankle. Otherwise, everything was great. Restaurant breakfast was really good.
- 5/5
Restaurant has great food quality and selection. Good service and nice atmosphere
- 5/5
The staff went above my expectations
- 3/5
The breakfast I had at the cafe was delicious. The bar in the basement is quite trendy with crowds kept to a minimum. The room I got was cozy. The location is very central to many DC sights and staff is very friendly. The locks wouldn't work on the first room I was assigned. In the second room, there was a burnt out lightbulb above the bathroom sink and the room was a little warm. I wasn't able to turn the thermostat down below 67 degrees.

The only thing that I would say I didn’t like is that I was promised drink tickets upon check-in and I did not receive any. The location of the hotel is also very nice because it is located near a lot of landmarks and museums.
- 5/5
Great location, Clean Rooms, Great Style and Friendly Staff - Loved the bar
- 5/5
Staff was so super friendly, Garnett is a gem, so helpful and friendly
- 2/5
Did not seem like a 5-star hotel. It was older and outdated, very little amenities, the room was small and the double queen beds were actually full not queen. The mattresses were pretty thin, and the shower valve didn’t work great and water pressure was poor. Would definitely not stay here again for the price. This is more like a 3.5 star hotel not 5 star. The restaurant downstairs was nice and the staff was nice as well, fairly good location as well.
- 5/5
Short walk to metro and restaurants and cafes.
- 5/5
Great location, great facility
- 5/5
Amazing customer service. The bellmen were incredibly kind. The front desk staff amazing and the hotel phone operator was nice and friendly. I even had to ask someone cleaning the restroom near the gym where the gym was and she was very happy and kind. You could tell these employees loved working at this hotel. The location is ideal. Only reason I rated the condition of hotel a 4 is baseboards on bathroom are water worm and peeling paint. These details are ilpirtant for 5 star. The overall rating I gave a 5, just hotel physical condition not quite on par with a five star rating. Loved my stay here
- 5/5
Exceeded expectations!!
- 4/5
The vibes and decor are very nice it helps to make it feel worth the sticker price. The staff are very courteous and informed and I was always able to find what I needed. The room service was excellent and very quick though the price point was a little high. The bathrooms in the room were very cramped, the door cannot fully open before it hits the shower making it hard to utilize the bathroom effectively.

The Riggs is one of my favorite hotels in DC. The ONLY complaint I have is that if you’re going through menopause or perimenopause and hot flashes are your enemy, they put an automatic cap on the AC and you will FRY at night. Me and my girls went from polar bears during the day to Heatmeiser at night and it as not fun. Other than that, it was great. Also, still couldn’t get into the lounge even though I tried to reserve in advance. But there’s so much to do in the area, we weren’t hurting.

Enjoyable location in the heart of things

The staff was professional, the room exceeded my expectations with many amenities, a very comfortable environment and most importantly an excellent bed. This is an outstanding hotel that ranks with the best hotels in America. Thanks for doing what most hotels never do, exceed my expectations.
- 5/5
Great place to have board members stay
- 5/5
Perfect location, great stay
- 5/5
First stay at the Riggs and I already have booked another. Well located, very nicely appointed rooms and an excellent in hotel dining option.
- 5/5
Quick check in and check out and great helpful staff
- 5/5
Top luxury that did not disappoint…it my “GO TO” for the Capital One Arena.
- 5/5
Lovely room, excellent staff, great location
- 3/5
Very disappointed considering the room cost and that we are regulars. The bar was closed at 1145pm on a Saturday night, day after Valentines Day. In room dining also closed. I wanted a tea and lemon and desert, but our room did not have any teabags! When I called the front desk said that they could not help in locating tea bags at that time, 1245am! This is not how a 4+ or 5 star hotel that charges $500 a night should act!!!
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous. Check in was easy and quick. Room was clean and nice. Valet was very nice and quick retrieving our vehicle. We love staying here when we come in town for concerts at the Capital Arena. Very close 2 blocks from hotel.
- 5/5
My room was spotless, quiet, and incredibly comfortable, with great attention to detail and a bed that made it hard to leave in the morning. The location is also perfect—easy to get around the city, close to great restaurants and major attractions, and convenient for both work and sightseeing. Overall, Riggs Washington DC delivers the kind of service and experience that makes you want to come back. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Washington, DC.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel, feels grand, but also boutique at the same time. Clean, comfortable room (and bed!), and prime location. Would absolutely stay here again.
- 5/5
Great room, location, staff, restaurant... i would absolutely stay again!

We come to the Riggs every year. It is always outstanding in terms of service, rooms location etc. A special commendation to Coach, the doorman-he is the best,a great ambassador for the hotel
- 5/5
Excellent clean great food and staff can’t beat location
- 4/5
Very clean and room service excellent
- 4/5
Good room and location. Expensive for the value provided. Sustainability features were lacking. Resort fee is a total ripoff.
- 5/5
Everything was great!
- 5/5
Room spotless. Staff friendly and efficient. Bed and bedding very comfortable . Excellent restaurant.
- 5/5
Riggs is a comfortable, attractive hotel in an extremely convenient setting for visiting the museums and other locations around the national mall. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the cafe was excellent. I prepaid for breakfast and that turned out to be a relative bargain. The superior room is of a standard size; the bathroom a bit on the small side, with the sink open to the room. However, the amenities are above average.
- 5/5
The hotel was stunning. It is located in the heart of DC. It was within walking distance of all the museums/monuments, as well as some stunning restaurants. It felt safe and clean and the staff were very kind and accommodating as well as knowledgeable on the city and the hotel. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again when we come to DC next time. Just book it already

Rooms and overall appeal are top notch! Great service!

Very nice, great staff
- 4/5
Very nice stay for an anniversary weekend. Service was great, room was great, and the location is perfect, only a couple of blocks to metro, and walking distance to lots of restaurants and activities. We also really liked silver Lyan, the bar downstairs from the lobby. Our only minor quibble was with the breakfast at Riggs cafe. It was included, so we ate there both mornings. The food was ok, but both days came at room temperature, and they didn’t bring coffee until after we were done eating and asked for it again. Other than that, a very nice stay

Staff was beyond excellent. Bottomless Champagne was well worth the money.

Beautiful room but small space
- 5/5
The room was spotless and sexy. Nice decor and design. The staff was awesome!
- 5/5
Bathrooms were too small. No counter to put your stuff on or a curling iron. Door to toilet and shower was extremely difficult to get in and close behind you (small area) especially since door opened inward.

nice room, very clean, great location, friendly staff, good price for DC.

My family recently stayed at The Riggs while we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff at the Riggs were always friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome. Garret and the other doormen always remembered us and welcomed us back each day and made sure we had what we needed, even making sure we got everything out of the Ubers we arrived in. The staff were also kind enough to deliver a bottle of champagne and a chocolate cake to us on arrival day to celebrate our special occasion and even included a card. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful and well kept. We really enjoyed the warm coziness of the rooms with tasteful decor and color instead of the sad beige rooms we've had at other hotels. It was also wonderful to see throwbacks to the time the building was a bank, like the room number plates that resemble safe deposit box plates. Everything was clean and the complimentary robes, slippers, umbrella, and reusable bag were very nice to have. I also have to talk about the onsite restaurant, Cafe Riggs. The food was absolutely delicious. A few of our favorites were the Shakshuka, the salmon toast, and the goat cheese tart. The coffee was also a highlight for us. It was rich but not bitter in the slightest and was easily one of the best cups of coffee we’ve had. The location of the hotel is also perfect, it's in central DC and is only a block from the metro station or a quick Uber to most anything in DC. The Riggs staff always made sure we had everything we needed

Expensive food and drinks. Expensive parking. But clean, beautiful, good ovation, and excellent location.
- 3/5
didn't eat
- 3/5
The restaurant at the property was good, and the staff were nice and accommodating. However, the overall experience felt more like staying at a 3-star hotel rather than the 4-5 stars it’s rated as. There were issues with hot water in both the shower and sink. While the room was clean, it appeared quite old and outdated.
- 5/5
Lovely clean room. Bed was very comfortable and beautiful bedlinen. Decor delightful. Great toiletries. Shower room very small but clean and functional. Wonderful bar and restaurant. Great vibe. Prefer the lobby bar to the one in the basement which is way too gloomy.
- 4/5
A lovely hitel in a nice area.
- 5/5
The beds were very comfortable, the rooms were quiet and dark at night, and we all slept well. We also enjoyed the hotel’s bar area for cocktails and had a fantastic Sunday brunch, with excellent service both at the bar and in the restaurant. In-room amenities were thoughtful and convenient — we especially appreciated the Nespresso machine and the complimentary bottled water replenished daily. The only drawback was that the rooms did not have dressers, which would have been helpful for unpacking during a longer stay. For four nights, we made do, but it would be something to consider for future trips. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and found the service, amenities, and room setup to be excellent for families.
- 5/5
Very roomy compared to other central dc hotels. The staff are all friendly and the riggs cafe is excellent. The location can't be beat. We are now switching from long-time hotel monaco loyalists to the riggs.
- 5/5
Amazing service, very clean hotel- will come back asap!
- 4/5
Great spot, cool room but what sold us was hanging out at the restaurant/bar - went there for a drink before dinner, has a really cool vibe and the drinks were yummy. Staff was helpful and friendly, they parked our car and we felt we were in good with them, overall a really good experience staying there.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff , brilliant location and restaurant was top notch
- 5/5
Outstanding! Love the beautiful hotel and the wonderful details in the room. My new go to hotel in DC. I want to check out the location in NY
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly. A special thank you to the valet and bell hop! We had a great visit.
- 4/5
Garnett was awesome and super helpful. There were a couple of issues but the front desk were quick and responsive.
- 5/5
Everyone from valet, checkin to the waitstaff were so friendly and the food at Rigg’s cafe was fantastic! Will definitely come again!
- 5/5
I liked the ambiance and cleanliness and location
- 5/5
Very nice hotel
- 5/5
Great location! Everything was clean and staff was terrific.
- 5/5
Excellent service from start to finish! The doorman, check-in staff, and housekeeping were all professional and welcoming. The room was spotless, and the location is ideal—close to great restaurants, entertainment, and shops. Highly recommend Riggs Washington DC!
- 5/5
The Riggs is in a great location too - all the main sites are walkable - the Mall is only a few minutes away from where you can see all the main sights including the Capitol and Washington Monument. If you need to go further afield, the Metro is very efficient and cheap, with a station not far from the hotel. In all an ideal location to explore Washington DC
- 5/5
Gorgeous bar, walking distance to main attractions
- 5/5
Great architecture, great service. Restaurant is amazing. Easy walk to attractions. Quiet, clean, up to date rooms. Definitely will stay here again.

The cheaper inner rooms have limited view and aircon units are mounted on the outside wall which are very audible inside. This comes with the price so you have to pay extra to get an outer room which is better but the aircon unit in a wall column made a noticeable electric hum even when turned off. The showers & plumbing are not great. Should have spent more on this and less on decor. Restaurant and gym are good.

Staff very friendly. Perfectly located and VERY safe, walkable to all sights, the hotel sits directly across from the National Portrait Gallery, super beautiful view from most rooms! Definitely coming back. Only one comment for improvement... They need hooks in the vanity area of the bathroom, no where to hand a vanity bag or anything else and a hook on the side of the inside of the closet, to hang a handbag or scarf. Additionally a shelf on top of the toilet, no where to put any of your haircare products or any extras except on top of the toilet. But other than that

Great hotel !!

I thought it was a greatnplace to stay with clean room, good service, and great restauarent
- 5/5
Very upscale and clean but requires redoing bathroom showers in deluxe queen rooms with more soun proofing between rooms
- 5/5
Great hotel- walking distance to museums and an amazing bar
- 4/5
The set up in a queen deluxe room is okay but the shower set up is not the very best- also you can hear in a queen deluxe room on the third floor when people use the bathroom shower in the room next door which is quite annoying

Great location. Fabulous design. Excellent staff.

Boutique hotel in old bank building in Penn Station area. Friendly, well trained staff. Bellmen were especially helpful! Spacious King room with luxury and modern amenities. Elevated experience in bar and restaurant. We had a lovely Sunday brunch in the dining room. Great gym and cool speakeasy on the bottom floor. Our favorite DC hotel!
- 5/5
Very clean, helpful and friendly staff, great location, great food, even gave my daughter a birthday surprise which was much appreciated!
- 5/5
Very good stay. Warm staff. Valet parking pricey - similar pricing around the area. Walkable and accessible to restaurants, public transportations.

Nice location

The restaurant staff and management were absolutely top-notch. A special mention goes to the tall manager, whose professionalism and attentiveness elevated our entire experience. Thanks to him and the team, our stay was truly memorable. I’ll definitely be coming back 100%!

Great experience! The service was really, really good, no, exceptional, actually. There are two things Riggs can improve: a) the rooms would benefit from more storage space for clothes - definitely! b) The coffee is always somehow off - it either is too weak (for European taste) or when serving espresso way too bitter, almost salty of sorts. Still, great experience overall. Would book with them again any time
- 4/5
very classy, but the rooftop bar is not for guests. That was disappointing.

Staff mostly seemed miserable. Not what I’d expect from a 5 star hotel.
- 5/5
Great property, great location and great bar
- 5/5
I would add a make-up remover, small scissors and a soap bar.
- 5/5
Great value, love the decor and amenities
- 4/5
Everything good except there was no cold water in the room; kind of a odd complaint for a hotel!!

A great location

Nice hotel
- 5/5
Amazing hotel: clean, comfy bed, lovely DC character, friendly staff/service.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly. We accidentally left a kids’ blanket in the room after we had checked out and they held it for almost 12 hours for us. Check in and out was easy and fast. Internet was easy to connect to and worked well. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were comfortable and clean. AC unit worked really well and kept the room the temperature we set it to.
- 5/5
A very friendly and stylish hotel in the perfect location for exploring Washington’s key sites. The facilities are excellent, the atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, and the service is warm, attentive, and truly welcoming.
- 5/5
Such a convenient hotel. The restaurant is also incredible. My kids loved the gum ball machine and the staff was lovely.
- 4/5
Nice hotel but rooms are very small. Especially the bathroom
- 4/5
Comfortable rooms albeit a little dark. Convenient to the National Portrait gallery and mall
- 4/5
The hotel building is beautiful and impeccably kept. We had a standard room. Room was beautifully decorated, clean, specious. There were two things that we were not satisfied with. The bathroom was small, but that's not the complaint. The complaint is that the door did not fully open in order to get into the bathroom. When you opened the door it stopped at the shower door and in order to enter the room completely you had to slide to the right next to the toilet then close the door, then enter the room to either shower or use the toilet. If we had been large people we would not have been able to do this. The second complaint is there is nowhere to put your clothes. There was a closet with 4 hangers to hang clothes, but no chest with drawers. As much as i loved the hotel and appreciate it's history and architecture, I will probably not return because of these matters.

Service is excellent. Convenient location. Cute decor.
- 5/5
notch staff, beautiful old building but very well kept, clean rooms and convenient location.
- 5/5
The property was extremely quiet. The hotel restaurant for breakfast was awesome.

Everything about The Riggs was amazing! Highly recommend!
- 5/5
It was a great stay!
- 4/5
Beautiful hotel wonderful staff. they don’t honor Experian Gold perks.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. The Riggs Cafe offers great food and drinks and the hotel is very well situated to many great restaurants shops and museums.
- 5/5
Everything from check in, out, and valet was great.
- 5/5
Everything is fine, but it would be the best if I can have a little discount!
- 5/5
The breakfast at cafe Riggs was delicious, the gym was one of the nicest I’ve seen at a hotel. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. Would definitely stay again!
- 4/5
Cool hotel in a converted bank within easy walking distance to the Mall. Lively restaurant and bar with excellent food, good design, courteous staff.
- 5/5
Wonderful place. Boutique design and perfect location near all the central DC sights and museums. Excellent in house restaurant for meals.
- 5/5
Gorgeous!!
- 5/5
Loved the hotel and the vibe. Rooms need a plugs near the writing table for plugging in computers and phones. Ridiculous that these is not one plug within range of the table (there is no desk)

great location - near multiple metro stations to get anywhere; very clean
- 3/5
Food quality was not good. Diner type of food, definitely not upscale. Not sure why they designate themselves as luxury. Also the cafe/lounge area/lobby was closed down for a private event from 3pm until the next morning and there was not where to hang around. Main areas should not be closed for private events when there are other guests checked in. Would not come back to this one. Waldorf DC was much better. Front desk staff was very nice though.
- 1/5
Valet parking put a dent in my bumper. Rush to pick up due to traffic conditions so was unable to inspect vehicle right away
- 5/5
Very nice and high end hotel in good location in DC. many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance of hotel and fast and available ride share options at all hours. Very nice bar and restaurant in hotel with great service throughout the facility. Pricey but that is expected in central DC district.

The old bank building
- 1/5
There is no parking provided by hotel and you have to pay $64/day for vallet..
- 4/5
Our stay at the Riggs was enjoyable. The location was perfect for us to visit many DC attractions. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The cafe served a nice breakfast albeit expensive. The only two issues were 1) our room was only serviced every other day and 2) our car, which we never used, was egregiously expensive due to something called a “convenience fee” on top of a gratuity.

Very good hotel, great location for Mall and museums. Capitol a short walk. Cafe Riggs is good for food and drinks. Gym is good for a city hotel.

⸻ Review of the Riggs Hotel I had a great stay at the Riggs Hotel. The service was outstanding—every staff member I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. My room was modern and thoughtfully updated, though it was on the smaller side. Still, it was comfortable and well-appointed. The real highlight was the restaurant, which was absolutely superb. The food, ambiance, and service there were top-notch and made the experience truly memorable. I’d gladly return!

Perfect hotel and area.

And, unfortunately, had to wait almost 50 minutes for my risotto at Cafe Riggs, that's ridiculous...
- 4/5
Nice central location. Walkable to the national mall. Close to great restaurants. Elegant hotel. Just wish they had queen beds instead of doubles. Lobby is quite simple with limited sitting. Attached Caffe Riggs has lovely drinks and food.

This is a beautiful hotel. Room was amazing! Would stay here again.

Really well maintained building. Very friendly and helpful staff. DS&Durga scented bodycare a nice surprise. Overall a very comfortable stay.

Lovely hotel and great restaurant. Only issue we had was cold water that frustratingly would stay hot which made showering tricky.

Great stay. The staff is friendly and helpful.

Perfect location, excellent service, clean room and halls, will stay at Riggs hotel at our next visit. Highly recommend!

We had terrible stay here. We booked at hotel looking at 5 star and family friendly reviews . Nothing about this place is family friendly. Beds were very small and very comfortable , in bad condition. Air condition. In this room could not cool room enough and made huge noise , our whole family is sleep deprived after 3 night stay here . No place in the room for kids hang out other than beds, no table to even eat breakfast or snacks for kids inside the room . Would not recommend for families at all
- 4/5
This is a really beautiful and unique hotel in a pretty convenient location. Positives: Classy, historic lobby and restaurant; clean and high-quality facilities; nice gym; high quality bedrooms; friendly hotel staff. Negatives: A few surprising design choices in the rooms (or at least my room): No drawers or other surface to put clothes on besides hanging in the closet, no place to hang a towel by the sink (vs. in the toilet/shower area), no place to set up a laptop and do work besides on a dining table where the outlet is a bit far away, and the outlets don't have power unless the room lights are also on. And I found the restaurant staff to not be as friendly as the hotel staff. On the whole, I really enjoyed staying here and would definitely come back. I found the price to be reasonable given the location and quality, especially for a business trip.

Service at the cafe riggs is bad

Clean and quiet with friendly staff. Walkable to many restaurants and attractions.

I'll be back!

Hotel is comfortable and very nice. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Location is terrific. Food is good, not great—except for their chocolate croissants which are the best I’ve ever had. I enjoyed our stay and would recommend.
- 5/5
We absolutely love this hotel! It’s perfectly situated in a vibrant neighborhood filled with great restaurants and shops. The rooms are spacious, spotless, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The staff—both at the front desk and in the restaurant—are exceptionally welcoming and helpful. This hotel is a fantastic choice with a unique and fascinating history to match.

- 4/5
Very nice hotel with a good location if you want to see Washington DC. My room was very nice and clean. Only problem was some engine outside running all the time. Not a pleasant background noise. The restaurant was good for both breakfast and dinner.

Nothing negative
- 5/5
