Reviews
The hotel is in a convenient location with easy access to public transportation and local attractions. Reviews are mixed, with some guests praising the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, while others find them small, outdated, and noisy. The staff are generally described as friendly and helpful.
- Convenient location
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Small, outdated rooms
- Noise from the bar and comedy club
- 5/5
Interesting old hotel. Elevator is an old style manual door which I thought was neat. Room was on the second floor so besides using the elevator once we just took the steps. It’s a comedy club/bar so there was an event going on, didn’t really notice it that much throughout the night. Bathroom and room were nice and clean. Hotel and room smelled fine. Staff was very friendly, one of them had a pocketbook size dog and it was super cute. Air conditioning was good. No parking but using Spot hero to find a spot was no problem. Area around the hotel was super clean and safe. Easy uber pickup. Easy DoorDash location. They held our bags as well while we attended a festival so that was very kind of them.
- 4/5
24 hour coffee, old vintage feel, very reasonably priced
- 5/5
Don’t book this hotel if you are expecting a traditional hotel experience. This place was perfect for our trip due to its proximity to everything we wanted to do while in DC. Great comfortable place to sleep, don’t let the elevator scare you, it’s jank and adds to the charm of the building. If we are ever back in the DC area we will definitely be coming back to the baron!! Also there is only street parking but there is a parking garage only a 10ish minute walk.
- 1/5
Do not book with them. I tried to cancel my reservation. None of their contact information works. The number listed here with hotels is OUT OF SERVICE! Despite this hotels told me bc they couldn’t reach the property I would be charged full price. I’m working with my bank right now to get a refund.
- 4/5
It's a bit old and dated but clean
- 1/5
Do not go there. Very old, noisy, way overpriced and outdated.
- 5/5
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was modest but worked.
- 5/5
I needed a bandaid, and the person behind the desk opened like 3 different first aid kits to find the right one lol. Staff is excellent.

Old place but it was nice
- 2/5
Just amateur no thrills kind of hotel very basic
- 3/5
It was fine for the one night that I needed. They put a $150 hold on your card for some unimaginable reason> I had repaid for my stay and the property is extremely dated with nothing but a bar/restaurant on site. I would not stay there again
- 4/5
Clean room, A/C . Best area in DC. Safe. Bar on site.
- 1/5
You did not respect the terms of my room! I had asked for a bed and you had given me two beds and when I left to claim the lady replied that she could not do anything. The room smelled of smoke and it was dirty, the keys did not work and I was each time forced to go down to the reception to activate
- 5/5
Everything was great except the AC was loud and the TV remote was not working properly. I actually had to press and hold the button a few to turn on the TV.
- 3/5
Gentleman at the front desk was horrible, not engaging at all. Didn't seem like he wanted to be there, or hates his job. Property is old as we expected, but clean, with a good running water and AC. However, It could use some renovation especially the elevator, and noisy stairs. Dont expect any amenities, even the TV wasn't working. Overall, it was worth the money . Privacy, Bed and Toilet is all you're paying for.
- 4/5
it was ok
- 5/5
affordable & perfect stay! highly suggest
- 5/5
loved it here!
- 5/5
This was my second stay here, i loved & enjoyed it even more this time. for starters, i accidentally booked the wrong dates and they were accommodating and worked with me on updating the dates. i love the feel and aesthetic of the hotel. the staff is friendly and welcoming. roughly a 10 minute walk to the metro, close to plenty of stores and restaurants. parking in the front is free at a select time, outside of that, it is pretty affordable. i suggest using spothero to find affordable & close parking. if you cannot stand noise, this is not the place for you. however, i do not mind it at all. sometimes it can get a little loud downstairs due to the shows but it was never a problem for me. this is the most affordable & perfect place to rest your head at while in DC. the only suggestion i’d make is mini fridges! outside of that, i have no complaints and have enjoyed my stay every time.
- 1/5
The hotel is connected to a comedy club so loud and crowded late into the night. Rug had stains and was dirty - bathroom was clean. No amenities except coffee urn and water with infused lemon. Great location. Not worth the price.
- 5/5
The room was excellen
- 4/5
Room immaculate, but everything is very old. Only stay if you are busy all day, then it is absolutely fine and a bargain to boot.
- 4/5
clean room staff air condition
- 4/5
That everything was antique however elevator was difficult to use.
- 5/5
A cute hotel above a comedy bar. Beds were comfy, bathroom was really nice.
- 5/5
Small but clean as and simple.
- 2/5
Property very old and not updated. Carpets TV beds old. Ceilings cracking. Restroom way too small.
- 4/5
I read reviews after I booked this hotel and there are some truths. Yes, I killed a strange bug in the bathroom, the room hadn't been updated in a long time, and the AC ran constantly at 70 degrees. Travelers should also keep in mind this is a 3 star hotel in Dupont for less than $100/night. You'll never find a hotel near this price for the area. If you are the type of traveler that the hotel is just a place to rest for the night this is a great deal. The room was clean. Housekeeping came every day. Hot water. Complimentary Wi-Fi. Front desk staff was very nice.
- 2/5
They operate a bar on the first floor where they present comedy shows. We stayed on the second floor and couldn’t sleep for two nights until after midnight due to the noise. No help, concern, or interest from the staff when I tried to address the issue.
- 4/5
Clean room nice staff the beds are old and mattress is uncomfortable pillows were hard as a rock. Not many amenities but works out ok if you can manage for a few nights. Good location to Georgetown
- 5/5
Good stay. Room was clean, a/c cool and water hot. Nothing fancy but everything worked as it should. Staff was very helpful. Great spot for the price!
- 4/5
This place was perfectly located. It was confusing when i approached it and discovered they have a separate bar and comedy club. The elevator is old but it works. The room was small but functional and the bed was comfortable and clean.
- 2/5
The room was very minimally furnished. The location is good. The elevator is difficult to get in and out off. (One of those old-fashioned ones that you have to close manually, but this one is problematic to operate.)
- 5/5
Great location and staff
- 2/5
Be prepared to carry your luggage up a flight of stairs just to get into the hotel. No one will offer to help. The elevator is so small it barely fits one person and a suitcase. The carpet looked gross to where I didnt want to take off my shoes. They put an ice bucket in your room but don't have an ice machine, water, or refrigerator
- 3/5
The lift can only be described as authentic for a bygone era. If you want fancy put a zero on a nights stay. If you simply want a place to sleep whilst seeing DC this is for you.
- 2/5
Was given the wrong room type. Floors were sticky. Bed was uncomfortable. Might as well have slept outside.
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay!
- 1/5
Air condition was impossible to manage, room was not that i booked .Furniture too old, no window in the room.
- 5/5
Location to DuPont Circle and the subway, various restaurants, Embassies and CVS
- 4/5
No blackout curtains and you won't get much sleep. Mattresses are worn and nishaoes so expect some discomfort.
- 5/5
Great location. Friendly staff. Simple, clean room.
- 5/5
Location is perfect with lots of public transportation around. Room was very clean. Housekeeping staff was excellent. AC was excellent. Front office staff was friendly and very helpful. A refrigerator in the room would have made our stay more convenient.
- 1/5
The environment is poor. There’s always a show until midnight, which makes more noises, causing sleeplessness. I don’t recommend this to anyone who likes quiet places.
- 4/5
Good air conditioning. The place is average but the location is the best.
- 5/5
Older hotel but we'll maintained. Staff very helpful with information.
- 5/5
The Baron Hotel exceeded my expectations- it was very clean and quiet and close to Georgetown and DuPont Circle.
- 4/5
A niche experience! A Very Rustic building that could use sone updating with a quaint feel.
- 4/5
close to Pen Arts Building
- 5/5
very good place, convenient, close to historical location
- 4/5
Good sleep. Elevator needs both hands to operate, so that's kind of difficult to use. Other than that, it's a great day.
- 3/5
Room was moderately clean but had a few dirty spots, staff were friendly, entering the hotel and accessing the room is difficult because the main area is a night club/bar, and the air conditioning was an in-wall unit that made me feel too hot and too cold at the same time. Shops nearby are great but since it's DC it's overpriced.
- 4/5
Even though I had to change room due to noise, generally staffs there were kind and comfortable.
- 4/5
It was pretty cool and has a lot personality. Just beware, everything is soo small... elevator, room, etc. There is no mini fridge or micrwave. Other than that, awesome!
- 3/5
The staff was very helpful and the property was mainly clean but I think it needs to be renewed. The hotel is located at a nice area and 10 minutes away from the metro station
- 4/5
This is definitely a budget hotel. Old hotel or apartments converted. Great location. Over the old Brickskeller beer institution. Easy to walk to buses on MA and PA avenues, short walk from Dupont Circle. Clean. Front desk staff. On the downside, only one plug in my room worked and the lobby has a bit of an "institutional disinfectant" smell. But, perfectly acceptable place for a non-profit or low budget traveler.
- 2/5
Not great. But it was a place to lay my head.
- 5/5
Great location!!
- 5/5
Very good location, close to main attractions, but conditions of the amenities corresponds to the price and the coffee could be better!
- 4/5
Nice room within walking distance to DuPont Circle
- 4/5
Great location at an older hotel. The staff could not have been nicer. Had some challenges with the room that were resolved on day two. Would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
If all you have to do is sleep great. Wifi slow and spotty. No coffee maker.
- 3/5
Good hotel for a price. Clean room. Too many stairs. Hope the elevator gets renovated.
- 4/5
Would have liked a body soup instead of only facial soap. The shower needed a bath map for safety. The discount at their bar and grill was nice and the food was tasty.
- 4/5
Excellent location and unique room. Beds surprisingly comfortable. If you are looking for a cheap place in a great location to explore the whole city that’s close to morning coffee, the metro, and a convenient store for all of your needs I recommend this place. Felt safe the whole stay!
- 4/5
Clean and well located. Dated
- 5/5
Good, affordable place to stay
- 3/5
I was not informed that the hotel was supportive of the LGBTQ cause. However, a comfortable, basic place to stay that was economical.
- 4/5
all ok
- 3/5
For the price it was fine. Great location. My bathroom was recently renovated (could use some hooks) but the rest of the room was very “tired”. No where to hang clothes.
- 4/5
Room is small but fare. Nice bathroom, old furniture in room. Good location, fare price
- 4/5
Stayed here for the great price and was satisfied with what I got. It’s not a modern hotel by any means but the bed was comfortable, the shower worked well, and the air conditioner did its job. That’s about all that matters to me.
- 3/5
Great location for walks to the metro or walks over to Georgetown. Bagel Etc around the corner is a must. Staff wasn't real helpful.
- 5/5
couldn’t have picked a better hotel. it’s in a great location, less than a 10 minute walk to the metro station. staff were friendly and welcoming! couldn’t have asked for anything better.
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
The first night we stayed there the bed was horrible. It felt like it was broken in the middle. The next morning we asked for another room. Which they gladly moved us to. That room was much better and it was on the 3rd floor which was better than the 2nd floor where you could hear the noise from the comedy club downstairs. The location was good.
- 4/5
Great location with ample sights and restaurants near by. Simple, cozy accommodations. An older facility with charm so do not expect the most posh experience. Rooms are on the small side and they aren’t the quietest especially Friday or Saturday when there is an event in the comedy club. But it’s a safe and affordable place to be when all you need is a clean bed and a bath for touring D.C.
- 1/5
Absolutely disgusting. Avoid staying here at all costs. Will be reporting to the health authorities. Based on other reviews and guests staying there at the same time, this is clearly not a one-off. They should be closed down
- 5/5
Air conditioning was great, and the bar below was so nice. Surprisingly quiet and enough space for us.
- 5/5
I was a little worried after reading the reviews but! We loved the place! We had clean rooms, good sized bathroom, bunch mirrors for me and mom do our makeup without sharing one bathroom mirror. We were at the 4th floor and didn’t hear any noises. Also the hotel is located in a very quiet peaceful neighborhood and is 30 minutes walk to Washington Memorial and 10-15 minutes walk across the bridge to a nice shopping area. And 8 minutes walk from my favorite bakery Tatte.
- 5/5
If you're looking for ultra modern with everything state of the art; this is not for you. If you're looking for character, charm, and atmosphere; this is for you. I loved every minute of my stay. I loved the grand stairs, the antique elevator, and all the pictures on the walls. My room was comfortable and quiet. I had everything I needed. The staff was friendly and fun. I would happily stay here again.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay at The Baron Hotel! The location is fantastic and very convenient for getting around D.C. My room was clean and the air conditioning worked perfectly, which made for a very comfortable night's sleep. The staff were friendly and helpful...
- 3/5
The elevator was terrible. Room was super small. No toothbrushes. Very expensive.
- 3/5
This is a good option for people looking to stay in downtown DC on a budget at a decent room rate, in a Dupont Circle location that is convenient and very metro-accessible (right near bus routes, too). It is pretty basic as accommodations go, akin to a student hostel, and the rooms have a bit of wear and tear but are in decent condition. Noise filters in easily, especially if there's an event going on in the space below, and there won't be any microwave, fridge, or storage options. Staff are courteous and friendly. The downstairs bar has good food and drink options, and you are also steps away from Dupont Circle restaurants, night life, and attractions.
- 5/5
convenient and cost effective hotel
- 2/5
Stayed here for 2 nights and it was fine. Rooms are basic but clean, staff do everything they can with what they have, and the location is great. The comedy club in the basement is fun. Then, daughter got sick and I had to cancel. I figured I'd be charged for that night, but not the second night, because that's what every other Expedia hotel has done on these trips. (I'm commuting to DC for work for 5 months, and I'm in the city W-F.) I called 3 times and messaged the hotel but never heard back. They charged me for both nights. I do not recommend staying here.
- 4/5
Muy buena localidad y servicio excelente. Facilidades un poco antiguas, pero por el precio esta súper bien para solo tener un lugar donde descansar y cerca del metro caminando a menos de 10 minutos.
- 5/5
Lots of Good restaurants nearby in the local DuPont Circle neighborhood. The motel wasn't the fanciest because it's a converted 19th century home with lots of rooms cut from bigger rooms, but it was good enough for the price. We found the shower good and hot, the AC and heater were excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were there over a weekend and it was peaceful and quiet. All-in-all, a great price and location for budget travellers to DC.
- 5/5
Located in a great area. Plenty of places to get food and shop.
- 5/5
Room was warm when we arrived . Nice and cozy
- 4/5
Clean rooms, surprisingly and pleasantly quiet. Great location. Quirky and ole timey. Great showers!
- 3/5
It’s located old hotel great for nostalgia. Bring power extension cords for your devices.
- 5/5
Clean room
- 5/5
Night staff was very friendly and helpful. The elevator was worth a photo or two with its' ancient caged door. Neighborhood felt safe. There was a well stocked small grocery about 2 blocks away.and there were lots of restaurants.

very low budget

Great in every way.
- 4/5
Yes clean but very quaint old elevator (1/2) little people , as described didn't like the deposit hold as no staff there to verify the return
- 3/5
Facilities like elevator and air conditioner need to be renewed
- 2/5
The room smelled like mildew and the carpet was years overdue to be changed. It was simply not clean, and I left instead of sleeping there.
- 5/5
The hotel was well cleaned and maintained
- 4/5
Quick and easy
- 3/5
Kindof shaby, ok place to stay, no where to plug in my c pap machine so i slept upside down so it would reach the only plug. People were nice
- 1/5
I couldn’t check in
- 5/5
While it’s not The Ritz Carlton, it is a very clean and welcoming hotel. The rooms were spotless and cleaned daily. Bathrooms seemed renovated recently. The building had a nice historic feel with a very cool elevator. The employees were very nice and knowledgeable about the area as well. Will definitely stay again if I find myself in the area.
- 3/5
Hotel look very dark and very simple
- 5/5
I love the Baron
- 5/5
I love the Baron Hotel. My favorite place to stay in Washington, DC. 💯
- 4/5
I was looking something unexpensive for only 4-5 hours because my flight was late at night, I found this hotel and it was perfect for I was looking for. It was clean, staff was very nice/friendly. I recommend it for those looking to save some money!
- 5/5
I left extra Pumpkin Cheesecake for the staff - hope you enjoyed it.
- 5/5
People are cool asf
- 1/5
The room has bugs! Be warned....
- 2/5
Gave us the wrong room and tried to charge us extra.
- 3/5
The mattress was very soft and my husband and I rolled into the middle, preventing each other from sleeping. There are plenty of restaurants around the corner. The receptionist was nice to point where we could go to find a place for dinner.
- 1/5
Everting terrible
- 5/5
!
- 3/5
The place felt like a ghost hotel. My room smelled like mold and the ac blew out consistent odor of urine from it. The stairs are old and made a noise when climbing. The elevator that they have is very old. Outside was very sketchy as a lot of homeless people were around.
- 4/5
At the time of my hotel reservation, I’ve read reviews about Baron Hotel and I agree that the hotel is in a good area and it’s a vintage hotel, the bathroom of room 316 was not comfortable as the sink and the toilet tank were so close to each other and each time I had to go side ways I order to jump in the shower. I’ve learned there are several hotels near Baron hotel. Such as Residence Inn by Marriott.
- 5/5
Old but charming. Clean rooms and bed was comfy.
- 2/5
The room still left a lot to be desired -- no refrigerator, no closet, no working wifi. Because I had to work remotely during this trip, I depended on having wifi. I had to spend most of my trip at the local library to get anything done. I noted this issue to staff, hoping they may pursue a solution, but they just told me to keep trying. During my two-night stay, I was not able to successfully connect to the internet using their wifi service. If you decide to book here, also keep in mind that my room did not have a closet or a refrigerator. They have drawers to store folded clothes, but this isn't ideal for those who will be wearing formal attire that doesn't go well folded (like me). Don't plan on bringing any food to your room either -- no fridge. Moreover, the hotel only provides ice when their bar is open, but it was not open during my stay. I couldn't even have cold water. Only stay here if you are low on money, but I personally think paying extra would have been worth the trouble.
- 4/5
Great location
- 2/5
Stained sheets, spider webs and spiders in the windowsills, smoke alarm going off and was told “it does that sometimes, it will turn off eventually”.
- 2/5
Creepy environment; Building too old; You can't find even a bottle of water in this Hotel, let alone a kettle in the room. The resturant doesn't service in the morning. Just suitable for sleeping.
- 4/5
It’s okay, walking distance to all the DC stuff.
- 4/5
I regularly come to DC to work for a week at a time. This is exactly what I expected - reasonable cost, good location to the Metro, clean room, dining nearby. Don't expect a chain hotel experience. I do wish I had time to experience the comedy club attached but did not. I can say I never heard noise on the 3rd floor from the bar or club.
- 5/5
Great area!
- 2/5
Very old.
- 5/5
Clean room, awesome staffs
- 3/5
Strange smells! Floor in room was warped and felt greasy.
- 5/5
The Baron hotel smacks of old world charm, like a Parisian hotel with a curious layout, and relatively small rooms which maintained much of their original character, and were immaculately kept by our maids. (Be sure to leave them a tip!). The halls were lined with antiques and many photos of famous Americans with descriptions that could serve as a History 101 course. This was one of the best things about our stay in DC, and should we return for a visit when the city is NOT UNDER SIEGE, this is the hotel we will choose. PS-There is no nearby parking, so expect to rely on Uber or Lyft during your stay.
- 5/5
It's in a nice area of downtown. It's clean and the staff is friendly and helpful.
- 3/5

- 5/5
Cost vs location was great.
- 4/5
Friendly staff. Located within a block of the embassy I needed to visit. Just a few blocks from the metro.
- 4/5
No complaints
- 2/5
The service didn’t feel like I was a paying customer. There was no greeting or welcome when I came in. Then, I couldn’t get someone on the phone nor at the desk for almost a half hour which forced me to have to change my plans for the night. I will never stay here again.
- 5/5

- 3/5
The staff specifically who are in the night shift was so rude.
- 4/5
Was nice area with shops and bus nearby
- 5/5
A must when I'm in need of a hotel stay with a great location.
- 1/5
The actual place is nothing like the pictures shown at the site. Rooms in poor conditions, bathroom with lack of water pressure. Nothing as the expected experience.
- 3/5
Doesn't look 3 star at any point. Nut satisfying room for what you pay for.
- 4/5
Was ok. Older building but nice shape. No frizz’s but worth the cost. The tavern bar was a noisy and they got in the way. I still recommend.
- 3/5
This place was overall ok for my stay. I only stayed for three days. The one thing that I did not like was the network availability. The WIFI kept disconnecting and it was pretty slow too.
- 5/5
Very nice old hotel. Good enough for staying for just short exploration of DC attractions
- 5/5
The area around the Baron Hotel was great. Very close to Dupont Circle and the Metro. The staff at the Baron was outstanding and the room was comfortable and clean.
- 4/5
Perhaps a little dated, but very comfortable and in a good location.
- 4/5
Good
- 3/5
Our room was clean but the mattresses were poor quality and there was an overall bad smell--maybe urine?
- 5/5
It was convenient and comfortable.
- 4/5
But one of the team member was VERY HELPFUL , when I came back with blood on my left arm. I had tripped and fell on the concrete and scratched myself badly. The staf member helped just like a nurse. I APPRECIATED THAT A LOT!
- 2/5
It has an old feel about it. Has no eating facilities couldn’t even give us a bottle of water
- 4/5
Mike was great help.
- 3/5
Elevator is super old and barely works
- 1/5
Horrible i was told no extra fees i get to the hotel it’s $150 More ! and i couldn’t get my money back ! old hotel it’s hot outdated and the power went out while was there ! i would like my money back ! Couldn’t even charge my phone to uber to train station
- 4/5
Unique hotel style and good location.
- 4/5
The internet connection to my room was quite poor
- 5/5
Great Staff! Grateful to interact with them
- 4/5
Interesting place. Staff was nice. Elevator fits 1-2 people max and is difficult (take the stairs). Location is perfect. There was a roach on the floor so they definitely need to treat for bugs. Water takes a while to get hot. The place is OLD which is a great appeal but needs little TLC. I would 100% stay here again !
- 5/5
Great location to visit views in DC. Although it is old, you can be deeply impressed.
- 3/5
Generally OK, but basic. Old building, amenities missing, for example no glasses, no fridge; basic TV, old furniture. For two nights it did the job. Longer stay not recommended.
- 5/5
It was a great experience for the price. Very comfortable and clean. No refrigerator in the room but not complaining. It was certainly worth the price.
- 4/5
It was okay! It’s definitely an older place and could use some deep cleaning BUT it was overall okay and felt safe. I was surprised with a $150 deposit when we checked in.
- 5/5
The Baron Hotel is by no means a 5 star hotel experience, nor does it claim to be. Though it is old and a bit outdated carpet/decor-wise, it is very clean, the staff is always kind and helpful, and everything is in great working order. The price is right, it’s in a beautiful neighborhood near fantastic dining options and old architecture. I love staying here every time I’m in DC because it’s a great affordable option! Will be back!
- 5/5
Loved the area, hotel is cute with character and was comfortable and clean
- 4/5
The wallpaper, the general smell, and the condition of the room gave off a feeling that the building was quite old and worn down. It was okay for a night alone..
- 1/5
there was mildew in the room the wall Tammy do on the wall that was filling out hand wheel do on them. They were stuffy. There was hair left in the drain in the shower. The sheets were stained, and the carpet was smelly. When speaking to the staff about it, I wanted to get at least a portion of my money back. There was no one to be found.
- 4/5
It is a great rate for a good location. It is a bit rustic and the elevator is definitely different.
- 1/5
Don't go there
- 1/5
A bad experimenter that next day we had to check out and go to another hotel. The experienced started with the hotel demanding to photocopy the biodata page of my passport thus putting by data into unknown hands and making it clear that if my passport was not allowed to keep the photocopy we would not be given a room, and no refund either. Later proceeded with the bedroom where we were booked into a room that when we went we found bedcovers sprawled On the bed, obviously slept in and we had to go to reception to complain and problems continued to the next room we we allocated with more issues that we raised with hotel reception. When we checked out the next day. We were not offered a refund even whe. We asked for it
- 4/5
Staff was helpful. They were having a show downstairs....everyone was very nice and mature towards my wife and kids even though there was a planned comedy show going on in the process of us checking in(because we checked in later at night)...We enjoyed our stay...
- 4/5
Good value hotel. Yes, it is rather dated but the bed was comfortable, shower hot and the room clean. We found the area safe to walk in, several good dining options nearby and subway station 5 mins walk. Comedy club downstairs did not cause any noise issues on floor 3.
- 5/5
Seemed olde worlde which we loved.
- 5/5
Clean and Friendly
- 5/5
It is old but clean
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 4/5
location staff
- 5/5
The staff are very helpful.
- 2/5
No grab bars in shower or bathroom. The first floor is up two long flights of stairs. No night light. Charged $35/room because we arrived 3 hours before check in time. Charged $150/room unexpected security deposit per room. Very noisy exhaust fan.
- 3/5
The stay at Baron is convenient, but it isn't luxury by any means. It is connected to a bar so coming in felt a little strange because many people were gathered in the front. The hotel itself is very bare bones. There is also a smell of cleaner that clung to our clothes. There are not a lot of spaces in the restroom to place your toiletries. No space to hang your washcloth either in the shower. The shower floor felt a little slippery when I first got in and there isn't a bar to hang onto so that felt precarious. It was fine for two nights, but we opted to check out early to head home instead of stay one more night. I am not sure I would stay again, but the price is right for DC so kind of hard to complain.
- 4/5
The room is small, but clean. If you are looking to save on spendings when in Washington DC, this might be a reasonable option.

This hotel is in a good neighborhood near George Washington University at a very low price. The hotel itself is not much, more like a two-star motel in facilities. Good deal if just a place to sleep, and in a quite good surrounding of small restaurants and small shops.

Small room but great area and great comedy club down stairs. Overall great experience for the week

absolutely good place near Dupont Circle - only can reconmend it

Great value for the money.

The property was OK. Rooms were clean. However, temperature control was challenging. machine was on regardless and room felt cold even though I set at 75F. TV didn't work, with no remote. Lifts were characteristic and quaint but most of the time didn't work when going down from the 3rd floor

We loved the old elevator, architecture, and central location. We hated the lack of insulation/sound proofing, and that it took an hour to find parking and then we had to walk. Construction, and no parking was a MESS.

Look, this is a budget hotel. But having said that the towels were nice; there is coffee 24 hours downstairs. The room was fairly decent size, the hot water worked. They had shampoo, everything was clean, the location was excellent.

Well, the hotel room is extremely basic. The internet is so slow as to be almost nonexistent, the room landline doesn't work, and when I called the desk from my cellphone, nobody answered. The room was perfectly clean, though.

Great location. Staff were nice. The hotel was very basic, but great price for where it is.

Arrived at hotel, disgusted by condition of the place, harassed by loitering individuals in the neighborhood, ended up leaving to stay at a different hotel. Was not offered a refund or discount, so ended up paying for the two nights.

Good solid no frills hotel stay. Clean room, comfortable bed.

We liked that it was very close to the embassy that we needed to go to and had a decent restaurant close by

Nothing is unique
- 2/5
It’s a small room, phone dead, no room amenities, and they demand $150 security deposit.
- 4/5
Over all very satisfying with many activities

Location distance to all historic places is great but the property condition is very poor( needed renovation long time ago, no restaurant, breakfast option, smells very old).

Very unprofessional. Coffee in the morning was welcome however

This was the worst hotel i have ever stayed at. When I arrived, there was no functioning plumbing. I was told the entire city had "no water" which was clearly not true. I was also there was no time frame for when service would be restored.

Great location, comfortable and very clean

We stayed only one night, originally booked 3. I’m not a bougie traveler, give me a cheap dry room and I will make it work, but there were brown stains on the white sheets, the floor wasn’t vacuumed, the aircon smelled strongly of mold and I woke with a terrible headache. The pillows were somehow to soft and to hard. I still have trouble wrapping my head around that. Also I had to sleep head where feet should be because one of the legs on the bed was broken. Location was good, if you don’t mind bar noise til late. I sent an email three days ago about getting a partial refund, crickets. Do your self a favor JUST DONT! I was really hopeful because it felt like a haunted breading house, which was cool. But it wasn’t haunted it was just lame.

The shower was not warm.

It is my favorite spot. Great location and comfortable clean rooms.
- 5/5
Nice place and very quiet I really enjoy, I think that a microwave in a room will be a plus. My overall experience was great. Recommend this place

Good choice

I enjoy my stay there

The room has little in terms of furniture or space. Which is again fine based on the cost. The Baron is located in a nice neighborhood and is a fine choice if you’re on a budget and don’t need modern amenities in your room, or coffee, and are planning on spending little time in your room other than sleeping. They do have WIFI.

Good location.

Excellent staff. Very polite and responsive, despite the bugs in the room and the low level housekeeping. Air-conditioning was ancient.
- 4/5
Remote control for TV didn't work and they didn't have batteries at the front desk.

Very nice, very quiet place. Staff were helpful and nice. The area is great and is in walking distance of a lot of places
