Loved our stay! We will definitely be back.

You can’t get a drink late at night, the only television is at the rooftop bar which only serves bar food (phenomenal smoked wings, but the worst lobster roll I’ve ever had). Breakfast restaurant has good food but nobody to deliver room service so it shows up cold. Never saw more than one person at the check-in desk. Hyatt should just sell this property and start from scratch with a new Thompson.

It's our choice for overnight trips into the city to see games at Nats Park and hang out in the Navy Yard area afterwards. Convenient to I-295, tasty food at the restaurant, clean, spacious, comfortable rooms. Will definitely be back.

Late night valet is problem

Really clean and fancy. The showers were crazy. They need doors to prevent water from spilling everywhere.

Actually the location to the event. I made my reservation on 3/2. I was informed when I got there my reservation was canceled. If walk ins come in. They get the reservation. This was an $800. reservation. I have traveled all over the world and never encountered any problems like this..

Pretty expensive but the rooms were gorgeous with hardwood floors. Staff was lovely. Restaurant was great for breakfast. It’s a 4 minute walk to a Metro line but in a pretty isolated area.

Junior suite was spacious corner room and had a good view. Annoyed by "destination fee" of $30/night plus $5 tax on the fee. Junior suite had expresso machine rather than regular simple coffee maker. I couldn't get it to work.

I always stay here when i go to baseball games. Can walk to the stadium. Clean rooms and good restaurants on site.

The gym was decent the treadmill seemed a bit worn out, but everything else was good. The hotel felt very comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant connected to it was nice as well.

Pleasant room with signs of wear. No comfortable chair. No room bar or tuck shop -- just an offer to buy what you might need. Restaurant only open for breakfast. Wonderful friendly staff.

Room was clean and staff was courteous, but balcony was snowed in which was upsetting, as we chose the room with the balcony with intention of using the balcony. The staff did comp the valet to make up for the balcony, which was nice.

Room was lovely and comfortable. The storage space was somewhat limited so a longer stay might be difficult. Breakfast was very good and what other food we tried at the rooftop bar and the lobby bar were good but menus limited and on the expensive side. But lots of casual dining options close. Very close to the ballpark.

The staff were extremely helpful and attentive— particularly the bellhop, Million, and the valet team! Room was clean and stylish.

Everything about this hotel was top tier! From the warm welcome from Aaliyah, to the speedy check-in process, to the rooftop bar area, all the way to the decadent deluxe room!! This is the place to stay and I definitely plan to return in the very near future! Thank you The Thompson DC for an incredible experience - currently my favorite hotel ♥️

This is the second time we stayed at the Thompson Washington D.C. We really appreciated the staff and everyone was friendly. Monique provided immediate assistance in fixing our safe and addressing another small issue. The breakfast was excellent and Allan, Lulu, and Andrew were extremely friendly and a great way to start the day with their greeting. The location is excellent and close to the metro or within walking distance if you choose. We will definitely return again when in DC!

Great experience. Friendly staff, beautiful and clean hotel, an amazing room. Breakfast was not included, but was a good deal and delicious. Overall, clean, spacious and modern room, delicious food, and great staff.

I can’t post the full story, but after guarantee that both charges that I had issues with would be taken off our bill, they weren’t. • we were charged $120 for disgusting room service dinner that we sent the food back for • we were charged overnight valet parking when I turned in my ticket saying we found street side parking and wasn’t utilizing the service. As beautiful as the hotel was, the customer service has definitely gone downhill (I’m a repeat customer). So disappointing

I. Love the Thompson .. the roof top bar is excellent and the restaurant is fair with pretty decent food the fa culotte is very clean and tastefully ce ora ted so are the rooms. We have stati ed there many Times . They are just on block away from our daughter. We can stay here when we visit and she can have her privacy it s sxcellent

Staff was 20/10 amazing! Everyone is so nice, helpful and went out of their way to make sure it was a pleasurable stay. I highly recommend this place. Even if it’s a little further than you want to be from where you’re planning your visit. It’s top notch try and get the corner room. It’s beautiful.

I emailed the morning of the day before my arrival to request hypoallergenic bedding. I hadn’t heard back so on the day of my arrival I called, but was placed on hold for 40 minutes before they hung up on me. I sent a follow up email in hopes someone would see it. When I arrived late in the evening,my room was obviously not defeathered. I went to the restaurant and requested that housekeeping address the bedding while I was out of the room. When I arrived back in the room, it had not been handled. Luckily, there was one foam pillow and the duvet insert was also poly fill. The bathroom door (pocket) was almost impossible to close and didn’t close all the way. The room was bare and didn’t have a desk or guest chair. The lighting was barely existent- 2 dim sconces at the bedside on pull-chains and 2 reading spot lights. No top sheet and the bottom sheet was a flat one, oversized and slipped around on the mattress protector. This one missed the mark for a higher-end hotel. I’ve stayed in many more similarly priced hotels in DC so I won’t be returning to the Thompson.

The staff were very kind, well mannered, and welcoming. They made sure we had everything we needed. The room was very nice and clean. I give this hotel a 10/10 and would definitely recommend. When I come back to the area I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

Only thing we could not get regulated was the a/c. The vent blew down right on the bed so it felt like we were freezing if the air was up or down. But still love the place. It was our second time staying for a concert at stadium and will stay there next time too.

I travel to the DMV often. Generally, when i book my stays, I try to stay at a Bon Voy property. Somehow this go around I was directed to the Thompson and what a stay it was. Nice, clean and comfortable. The staff is stellar!

Loved the new modern look of the hotel, the rooms were also modern looking and clean, the bed was super comfortable, friendly and helpful staff and great location, will be staying again.

Came to see a Mets v Nats baseball game and could not have picked a more perfect location and quality hotel. Will definitely stay here again.

Navy Yard location is good for a game any the rooftop bar is fun but noisy area and even up high are room was noisy.

Check in staff very warm and accommodating. Room is clean and well furnished. Close walk to Nationals Park. Good variety of places nearby to eat.

Stayed here for close proximity to baseball stadium (10 minute walk). Hotel was clean and well maintained. The staff was friendly and super eager to accommodate. Rooftop bar was a definite plus with great views. Valet parking prices were kinda steep but I guess that was to be expected. Would definitely recommend and also would stay here in the future.

We enjoyed our stay at Thompson by Hyatt. It was clean and comfortable. The staff were all excellent.

Public transportation was super convenient too, with a metro subway station close by that made it easy to explore other parts of the city. The area felt safe and walkable, with a good mix of energy and comfort. Would absolutely stay here again — it made our trip easy and enjoyable from start to finish.

The room was super dim and the AC doesn't go below 66F. The TV was super slow and sometimes didn't turn on.

Be sure to check the bill, they charged us for parking when we did not even have a car. They kindly removed it, but glade I checked before we left

I requested a river view room my request was not honored when I booked this room for the stay in January. Bad quality of the hotel no ice machines or vending on the floors everything was design to tip the service people which I don’t mind but some of the are very slow

Service and location

I liked the location. The common areas like carpeting were very dirty. I thought it would just be for 1 day but the carpet remained very dirty with debris during our entire 4 day stay. It's not really a 4 star.

No microwave in the room was a downer

We stayed one night and had a great time at their pool. The poolside bar had great food and the female attendant was very personable! We ate breakfast the next morning and that was great too!

However, when I returned from the concert after midnight, my hotel key didn’t work. I went to the front desk and she insisted I was in a different room, based on my balcony reservation. I knew which room I checked into, but I went to the room she thought I had and my key still didn’t work. I returned to the front desk and she informed me that after I checked in, the guy who checked me in had me down in the system for a completely different room. I was very concerned because that obviously meant that access to tbr room I was actually in could’ve been given to someone else. I heard her call the maintenance man and ask him to give me access to the room and that I was going to meet him in the hallway. The maintenance man ended up letting my boyfriend in the room without me being there… then she proceeded to make up for it with free breakfast. Lol. I don’t think she understood my exact concern. Safety of women guests is obviously not a top priority. Apparently you have to make a call for ice to be delivered to your room. We called multiple times with no answer, so we went down to the front desk to ask in person, where they acknowledged they saw us calling twice. There were 5 people working, doing nothing, staring at a phone ring? lol again.

I checked out early in order to catch a train, only to realize not long after that I had left my laptop charger in my room. I promptly called the front desk for them to check if they had my charger - they called me back around 10 minutes later and shared that they *had* found my charger, but that I would need to file a "lost" report via a third party website in order for them to go through the process of shipping it back to me. I filed the report immediately after that phone call (10:49 AM on the day of check-out). I received an email from the third-party website three days later saying that the hotel had *not* located my item. This did not make sense, especially when the individual I spoke to that day I checked out verified that they had indeed found my charger. I called the hotel right after receiving that email & explained to them the situation – I was told that the front desk manager would call me back, & gave my information to them. Five days passed before I gave them another call - I was told the same thing, that the front desk manager would be in around an hour and a half later. However, I did not receive a follow-up phone call. After calling them for the third time this afternoon, I was immediately placed on hold without speaking to anyone. It's clear they do not want to resolve my issue.

My room was not done any day. And was too small for two people. there were no usable toiletries. We have states there in other ocasiones and everything was much better. Reason we chose to stay there again.. very disapointed this time.

We booked this hotel to be within walking distance of Nationals Park for a concert. GPS did not get us to the hotel's door but once finding hotel & using valet car service things went smoothly. The valets both upon arrival and after checking out were PHENOMENAL! The young men were very busy at check-in on Sunday evening but they provided efficient service with a smile and good humor. Upon check-out the valet thanked me for choosing Thompson Hyatt. This simple thank you made me feel like a valued client. Our corner junior suite room was perfect. Only issue was arriving on Sunday evening to find the only restaurant closed on Sunday & Monday. Rooftop restaurant was only for 21 and up and I had my 16 year old with me. After an exhausting drive having available food on site would have been perfect. Yes, there were choices within walking distance. Also, be aware restaurants stop serving food at 11:30 p.m. (for the few restaurants that are open past 11)-it was difficult to find food after concert on Monday night (not hotel's fault just an FYI if you want to eat late at night at this location). I would definitely recommend this hotel & would definitely consider staying again. Nice amenities in the room. Very clean. Safe area. Grocery store, CVS and more within walking distance.

All of the staff was friendly and most of the staff was helpful. The room was not clean. There was food on the floor, dirty tissues in the couch, caked on dust around the vent, the coffee pods were dirty. I wish I took the time to complain, but I was there for concert for only one night and in a rush, since the person that was checking us in said they would let us know when our room was ready, but never did. After 2 hours of waiting in the lobby, I went back to the counter and found out the room had been ready. I fwlt like, for the price, the room should've been much better.

The property is great - located in a bustling area that has tons of dining options plus Washington Nats baseball field and DC United/Spirit within walking distance. Rooms are spacious and clean. Bar lobby with food options is great. I would also single out the front desk - top tier service juggling multiple reservations for our trip. Super friendly and problem solvers, not easy in a typically thankless job

Everything was amazing!

The hotel was walking distance to the venue we were attending and the area was very nice and quiet.

First when we get there to check in, they told me the two river view rooms I signed up for are not available as there are over-sold! They offered a $40 breakfast to make up for that, I wasn’t happy!! The first day they forgot to do the room cleaning service mostly because there were super busy. There is an black girl with glasses in the reception who has bad customer service and gives you an attitude.

Love the room

This property was in a perfect location and had many options for dining and entertainment nearby.

A little hard to find even with GPS. It does not look like a hotel. Valet service was excellent and friendly. The front desk was had a business like professional approach with a blend of good humor. Room layout was so good and practical with built ins that you wonder why all other companies grab their model. Shower was amazing. Roof top bar was fun.

They also have the thermostats off in the rooms and you have to call maintenance to activate it ( or at least this was our experience) the price per night is way too expensive for this inconvenience. I love Navy Yard and used to live here but every now and then there is occasional crime. It just so happened that on the nights we were there the metro was shutdown because the police were dealing with a situation. Just something to keep in mind.

Great service from the valet, front desk, restaurant and rooftop bar. Took my puppy, it was very pet friendly and the place was SO convenient to everything. Absolutely loved our stay! I plan on going back for more MLB games. 😀

Amazing stay, from the front desk manager upgrading me to a balcony too, to the rooftop bartender and the amazing drinks he concocted to the chef behind the scenes that added the dazzle dazzle and came out to speak were all great, hospitable and helpful. Top notch service and care were given in all areas and the hotel is just in a beautiful and walkable location

Add this to the wave of teens hovering around the hotel at night without any security, and their pricing far exceeds their price point. I have stayed in five hotels in this neighborhood and never had such a negative experience.

The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The roof top bar had the best nighttime vibes. The hotel smells amazing and is pretty clean. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting DC.

The location, the staff, the amenities and everything else were perfect. I can't recommend this place strongly enough if you're going to be visiting DC.

Overall good quality rooms and common areas. Showers were nice, as were the fitness amenities. Parking is a challenge but they have reasonably quick valet service. There were a couple of unexpected fees but nothing that broke the bank.

It was good. Stayed here two years ago. The property showed some minor wear. Towels' ends were a bit frayed, hard to control the shower water temperature, door of the cabinet holding the mini bar was broken so they had a weird clip thing holding it shut. The walls are thin. Next door there was a family staying and a kid was crying and it was as if they were in the room with me.
