Breakfast was good, and provided us with what we needed to start our day.
- 3/5
The Good: • The breakfast was okay (not too bad!). • The staff was generally fine. • The pool and gym were decent amenities. The Bad (False Advertising): • No Cribs: The website advertises "free cribs/infant beds," but when I asked the receptionist, I was told they didn't have any. • No Daily Cleaning: The site says they offer daily cleaning, which was not provided. My mom explicitly asked the cleaning staff in the hall to clean our room while we were out for 6 hours attending my graduation (trash was full, toilet paper was low). We came back and the room had not been touched at all. Conclusion: It served its purpose as a place to sleep, but management needs to address the lack of housekeeping and stop advertising amenities (like cribs and daily cleaning) that they cannot actually provide.

The property was clean, and the staff was great, but the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash containers are at the end of the tub/shower where the contents can’t help but fall on the inside of the tub making it very slickly. I slipped and bruised my shin pretty bad while trying to get in the shower. So, be very careful when getting in the shower! Also, we stayed three nights, and the second morning while we were trying to get dressed for our grandson’s graduation, all the lights in our room went out. The man who was on duty at the front desk could not find the problem, and brought us a lamp. He eventually put us in another room which was fine. Overall, it was an ok experience. However, the people at the front desk were exceptional, and the breakfast was absolutely wonderful!
- 5/5
People were very helpful. Breakfast was fine. Very clean rooms
- 4/5
Wi-Fi out. Room not cleaned
- 2/5
Breakfast was terrible! The egg and cheese omelette was still frozen. The pancake machine never worked. The only thing that was edible was the oatmeal. Checking in was horrendous! She couldn’t find my reservation even though I had the expedia confirmation number. Room was clean and nicely put together.
- 5/5
Great breakfast. Hotel was extremely clean. Comfy beds. Great staff.
- 2/5
The room was satisfactory except for the bath tub was too slippery when the water ran. I had to stand and hold the grab bar to keeping from falling. Also when I got ready to leave both elevators were out of service. I had to bring my belongings down by stairs. One elevator was out of service when I visited in October and apparently never repaired.

Yes!
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly. Walls are quite thin, so bring headphones if you want to sleep through the night. A lot of water collected in the tub during the shower, and I almost fell a couple times. Hotel is under construction as well.
- 1/5
Staff was rude, no TVs for 2 days, ice machine broken
- 1/5
Given the circumstances, this was not a matter of preference or change of plans, but an unforeseen emergency. Since I was unable to travel or check in, I do not feel it is reasonable to be charged for a stay I could not physically make. I would sincerely appreciate your reconsideration of this matter.
- 3/5
This property was either being remodel or had a water break. Lots of needs due to ice storm. The attendants were efficient but not greatly helpful.
- 2/5
The room and the whole hotel was dirty

Love the easy park & check in. Very clean and quiet too. Rooms are beautiful & comfortable, very welcoming for any type of stay. Third time staying here and will continue!

Thank to the staff on duty, I think Ola was training someone I don't remember her name, but was was equally professional and helpful. It was a short stay but it worth it.

Clean room. Great staff. Love the walk i shower!. Breakfast was top notch. They were putting up the Christmas decorations when i was there. Nice!
- 1/5
The rooms are very outdated and not very comfortable to stay in. The restroom had little bugs in it by the shower and toilet.
- 5/5
The room was clean, staff were helpful and friendly. Area is nice and lots of food and stores near by. Also felt very safe.
- 5/5
Very friendly, clean and safe 👌
- 4/5
Yhis was a pleasent stay. Room was clean breakfast was good staff was beyond helpful. We had to check out a day early and they helped me get it done. My only gripe (and it's not specific to this hotel) is the beds are way too high. I'm old and short and have to bring a stool to even get in the bed.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome
- 5/5
Room was clean, breakfast was great! Service was friendly! Will definitely stay again!
- 3/5
It was ok. It’s close to family that’s why I stayed there. But they gave us a room at check in and it wasn’t even done, unmade beds, trash everywhere. They’re not ready for guests. Girl up front was “training a guy but then she didn’t even let him do anything. Makes me wonder why the employees aren’t delivering, cuz they’re not really training/teaching. It’s more like “watch me”. Whatever. It’s a hotel. It’s neither here or there. I got a bed and shower and I’m cool with that.
- 0.5/5
The outside was good my room smelled like wet clothes The outside

Short stay
- 5/5
Very accommodating. Staff at the front desk were wonderful! Breakfast staff the second morning was not on top of his game. The room was very clean and I would recommend this hotel to others
- 4/5
The hotel is under renovation at this time so I’m not being too picky. Only one elevator was working. The air conditioning is strong!!! The hot water took 5-10 minutes to get hot. Overall good value for $$$. One last thing, the road it is on can take some time to get on. It’s busy most of the day.
- 4/5
Newly renovated, friendly staff

*bed makes loud noises *Food quality is poor

Among other things, the carpet in our room was filthy. It was so dirty. And, some unknown substance was ground into it in several spots. Take a look at the pictures. I took those in case the property tried to charge us. The pictures don't quite convey how bad it looked. Ironically, we were told a couple of hours into our stay that we had to leave the room so they could deep-clean the carpet and AC unit. When we complained, the manager - who was perfectly friendly and professional, I must say - said we should have seen a flyer pushed under our door, and that the person at check-in should have informed us in advance. Neither of those happened. The cleaning was called off (maybe not the best idea). She was doing her best in what was a very bad fail in planning, so I have to give her credit for that. Breakfast was dismal. Probably the worst I have ever had at a hotel. The manager on duty said they were changing management, and that was why they were out of everything. (We paid for this?!) To be fair, the staff were professional and responsive. They were obviously going through some challenges. I just wonder how bad it must have been before new management was called in. I chose this property because we have always had great experiences with this chain. This stay proved that you should read the reviews first. Hopefully the new people can turn this around for future guests.
- 4/5
Overall the property was nice. The staff was on point. Everything was very good
- 1.5/5
The pillows The blood on the shower curtain, the mold and peeling paint in the bathroom, the stained and cigarette burned carpet, the feces wiped on the wall by the elevator and next to the toilet, the broken toilet paper holder, the missing baseboards in the hall, the pancake machine was down, the shredded mismatched bedding that looked like Freddy Krueger stayed the night. The wonky luggage carts. The minimal selection of breakfast. Carpet beetle larvae on the floor by the beds. Everything was broken and dirty. I've stayed in a motel 6 that was cleaner and that I was less hesitant to sleep in. Paid $200 for filth. Supposedly under new management. Stay somewhere else. LaQuinta is next door. It has to be better than this. Would really like a refund and someone to reach out.
- 3/5
The first room they gave us, the AC unit was leaking and the carpet was soaking wet. I called down and they quickly moved us to a different room. New room was missing the TV remote so they went to the originally booked room and brought us that one. Overall, good stay. Only complaint was that the pool water was green and dirty. We were not notified of this upon arrival so my kids were dressed in swimsuits and sunscreen to walk down and be super disappointed. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was for the pool. It was still over 100 degrees outside so I would have expected the pool to be kept up with.
- 2/5
This hotel is in various states of disrepair - one elevator is broken, several halls are torn up as if under construction, though minus the sheeting/indicator that they're being improved. Our room had stains on the couch. The pool is green and actively growing things. The bed was clean and the staff was friendly.
- 2/5
Hotel was dirty overall. Carpet stains in all the halls. The pool was nasty and not usable for my grandson. Obviously by the look of it , it has not been maintained in a long time. Patch work on the wall of my room and not painted. Bathtub had stains also. Just appeared to not be well maintained at all. will not stay here again

Breakfast
- 4.5/5
The day staff was never behind the counter, she was on her computer in the lobby on the sofa. Couldn't see her. Also the hotel hallways and lobby were not cooled. So it seemed warm in there, especially during the evening hours. The shower (tub) was slippery and you had to be careful in there.

no medicines or toiletries to purchase we had issue with loud music but called front desk and they handled it ice machine 4th floor broken breakfast was nice staff were nice
- 3/5
The lobby and hallways were warm. One elevator was out of order and the pool was closed. I'm not sure what was going on or if this was a cost saving measure. The room was nice, AC worked well. The breakfast was good.
- 3/5
The staff was very friendly! The breakfast was very good. The building needs a lot of help. Needs to be cleaned from top to bottom. Needs quite of bit of repairs.
- 4/5
The service and food was phenomenal. The pool appeared unclean, not sure if it was under construction. That was a little disappointing.
- 2/5
Bad odor in the room.
- 2/5
The rooms ( especially the bathroom ) was not very clean. We went and bought cleaning supplies. There was no air conditioner in our room the first night . We had to change rooms to have air conditioning the second night which worked well. The entire stay (4 days) there was no air conditioning in the hallways in the Texas August heat.
- 3/5
The people were nice. No one at the counter for 10 minutes when we checked in. The air conditioner was not on in the halls, which was uncomfortable and the humidity made the halls smell. The carpets had a lot of spots on them. The elevator would jump when it went up. The air conditioning worked great in the room. The room was clean. The bathroom was nice.
- 2/5
For the hotel to be so young, it really is worse for wear. The hallways are kept at 86 degrees possibly due to a broken AC unit. The air conditioners are actively leaking on several floors. There were areas with carpets and baseboards pulled up. Per hotel staff, no action plan to replace or fix these issues. They plan on leaving it in this rustic chic look. The AC in the rooms have black mold growing on them and the carpet is constantly wet. One elevator is down for “long term maintenance” and the other one is quite rickety. The nightly price of $100-$125 per night is elevated for the condition and service received. This is easily a $60-$80 per night type of establishment. Breakfast was good, but I couldn’t help but wonder what condition the kitchen was in and how the food was prepared. Most of the food was burnt leaving me questioning if they just saved the previous days’ food and put it back out. The pool was merky. One of the only positives was the Great location. Do yourself a favor and check out La Quinta next door, they are brand new. This one was rough!
- 4/5
Cons: The room was not ready at check-in time (3 pm). We waited about 15 minutes. The room was called a "suite", but it was just a room: 2 queen beds & a sofa bed with no bedding on it. When we called the front desk, we were told to cime down and get some ourselves. The room was listed for "7 people", but only 3 sets of towels were provided. We asked for more towels and received 2 more. We asked again and were told to come get 4 more. There were no "pool towels", which made the towel shortage more challenging. We had to use the towels for the pool AND bath. There were 7 of us, and I assumed it would be an actual suite (as listed) with room for a roll-away bed. At check-in, I asked for a roll-away bed and was met with a confused stare. (She was NOT rude at all, just confused.) As it turns out, they do not have roll-away beds. Our 18-year-old grandson slept on the floor. And when we asked for bedding to make a place for him on the floor, we were (again) told to come diwn and get it. No pillow and no blanket were orovided fir him. Of course, the queen beds had 4 pillows each, so we gave some of those pillows to the people in the sofa-bed and the one on the floor. My husband went down to the desk to ask fir blankets. He got two, and that allowed us to make the floor feel a bit softer for our 18-year-old grandson. Honestly, I think they were short-staffed.
- 5/5
man at front desk smelled bad
- 3/5
Hotel not very clean. Our bathroom floor was very dirty. No toilet paper holder, no tissues in the box. Asked for extra bedding for the couch bed and was only given a top sheet, and then given a blanket the next night.

- 3/5
Breakfast was not the greatest. Room was not stocked well. Only 2 sets of towels for 4 people, 1 roll of toilet paper, so we ran out and ran out of toiletries too. Not sure I’d stay here again
- 1/5
Walked in and hotel looked great. Looked at the pool and it was green. Went to our floor and it was 90 degrees. Got into our room 80 degrees and had a terrible pet odor. Asked to switch rooms and told(it doesn’t smell bad to me) and was given a bottle of air freshener. The fridge did not work and the pull out mattress had some suspect spots on it. Not the holiday inn experience.
- 3/5
Carpeted hallways are disgusting. Big stains everywhere. Strain in front of my door looked like someone threw up. It appears no carpets have been cleaned in years. Thin walls allow you to hear your neighbors and loud hallways. Very cheaply built hotel. Definitely would not come back. Front desk staff is very friendly though.
- 5/5
Would stay again everyone was friendly
- 1/5
This is the worst, filthy, run-down, non-responsive staff. Broken toilet, stains on carpets, stains on towels, staff didn’t respond to anything at all and could benefit from a customer service class. Noisy. I think 1 person works there. It was gross. Never again.
- 5/5
Thank You

- no one was at checkin desk at 5pm for several minutes, no sign at front desk. After waiting over 15 minutes, we left and came back a couple of hours later. - no signs denoting “Pardon our mess”, flooring up/bare concrete, drywall removed, etc (water damage?) - stairwell all the way up to fourth floor was dirty, wasn’t swept or vacuumed the entire time we were there. Trash scattered throughout. - ants in our room on fourth floor - our room was not serviced after first night, so we only had one towel upon returning late second day. Front desk didn't answer for more towels to be brought up or picked up. - in the past, breakfast was well serviced. This stay, multiple offerings were out of service, biscuits were hard, gravy was lukewarm and coagulating. We hope that these items can be improved, we like being able to stay in Wylie when visiting family.
- 5/5
The selection for breakfast. Also, the ones working up front will go out of there way to help. I'm one that reads reviews and leaves one. This will be our go to the next tournament here. I loved it all!

I could not ask for a better experience than my stay at the H I Express in Wylie Texas . Friendly staff , Clean rooms, Gym ,Pool and a hot breakfast with plenty of options to chose from at a very reasonable price
- 5/5
They are all so good
- 3/5
Our beds were dirty and our sheets were also dirty. They were also undergoing some renovations. The beds were comfy for a nights stay, but overall was just an okay stay.
- 2/5
Property dirty overall, both outside and in. Lobby was stuffy and hot i assume from lack of A/C. Front desk computers werent working properly and the poor desk attendant was clearly frazzled and disorganized as a result, understandably so. The room was ok aside from the broken toilet paper holder, dirty unvacuumed floors, and the view of disgusting half-filled green swimming pool. This property is in disarray and needs some help.
- 2/5
Hotel not maintained. Dirty common areas and a green pool
- 1/5
Cleanliness is not good.
- 5/5
Enjoyed stay
- 2/5
There were many things broken in the room. There was no toilet paper holder except the brackets on the wall because it was broken. So the toilet paper sat on the counter. The tv was broken and only partially worked with green line at bottom of the tv. My colleagues room was covered in dog hair and not clean
- 2.5/5
Tiny room with 100 bucks a night and they are not cleaning or changing amenities if your stay is less than five days.

Staff were very friendly. Room was clean and bed was comfortable.

This hotel desperately needs a complete makeover, including the incredibly rude staff.
- 1.5/5
location staff lady at the desk who was a manager was very rude - she had called earlier in the day to verify we were still coming and upon our arrival she had rented our rooms that we had booked out to other customers. she said since we went through a third party booking she could do that.

- 1/5
We pulled the bed spread back to get in the bed and noticed stains on the bed spread, then seen stains on the sheets as well the lady working gave us some new sheets so we changed them ourselves. The shower had mold around the drain and in the corners that could have easily been brushed out, if the person cleaning would have actually done their job. Said on line recent renovation but the hotel itself could not have been that old. The walls in the bathroom were nasty and had stuff on them. In the hallway the trim was missing and there was probably 30’ of ceiling tiles missing it was definitely not recently renovated.
- 5/5
Very nice!
- 1/5
Not much I had to take an ice cold shower and the front desk could care less
- 1/5
The first room we were given had an open door and disheveled sheets. The second room had a constant beeping noise coming from behind the headboard that we informed the front desk about but that they never resolved. It also had a destroyed toilet paper holder that was fully broken and hanging by a screw. The room was also just dirty when you looked at the details (walls, floors, etc). I have stayed at the hotel many times but this was the worst of it and I won’t be going back.
- 5/5

its good experience.
- 2.5/5
the location was great for me, however.. Trying to sleep with someone beating on a hallway door is difficult. Sleeping through kids running and adults running through the hallways is horrible. upon my exit do you think the clerk asked me how my stay was? No she didn't care. We placed a do not disturb sigh on our door thinking house keeping wouldn't disturb us. Too late for them the people and kids running through the hallway already had. Nevertheless, they didn't know that so why would they stand in the center of the hallway talking as loud to each other as humanly possible? I do not know but this is what occurred.

2.No extra bed linen in the closet for the sofa bed—we reserved a suite for two nights. I called downstairs to let them know of the problem. I was assured housekeeping would bring the extra linen when they cleaned the room. 3.Room not cleaned. No sofa bedding. My family and I went to our event and returned about 8:00 PM. The room had not been cleaned. If they couldn’t make the beds, changing the towels out and emptying the trash out would have been nice. No bed linen for the sofa bed was placed in the closet as promised. 4.Poor explanation. I contacted the front desk staff and was told that housekeeping didn’t clean rooms that day. I’m not sure if the front desk person knew they were in the hall. No signage about being “green” and rooms being cleaned, and towels being furnished upon request if staying more than one night. Poor communication. The front desk staff apologized about the bed linen and said whoever checked us in should have known we had a sofa bed and given us the extra linen when we checked in. She said she could put the linens together and that we could come downstairs to get them.

Receptionist was on the phone with her mother before after 5 minutes of waiting for her to acknowledge me. I had to ask her if she worked there. The hotel had spots that looked to be under construction. House keeping knocked but opened the door before I could answer the door. I told them we were not leaving until the next day. Breakfast was disgusting. I was told the oven was broke. One elevator was broken. Will never stay there again.

Close to the softball fields where our tournament was bring held
- 2/5
First off one elevator was not working and the 2nd one was broken before our arrival. We ended up checking in later that evening hoping it would be fixed. Then we woke up the next morning to it “raining” in our room. We had to repack everything and move to another room. This room was underneath someone who was up all hours of the night running and stomping their feet. The hotel also did not have any extra pillows to offer. The beds were creaky and squeaky in both rooms if you moved at all. The bathtubs looked like they needed some work. We asked if we would be accommodated at all for the inconvenience of having to move room and having our items get wet and we were told no. I will never stay at a holiday inn again. Poor service all around. Oh and the breakfast was not up to snuff compared to other places I’ve stayed before.
- 1/5
She gave us a room that was not ready. Then she gave us a small room which does not have any pull up sleeping available.
- 5/5
Large bathroom
- 5/5
Receptionist was very friendly. Our information was taken down correctly when considering that the reservation was done over the telephone. The room nice and clean. Housekeeping was friendly and provided items (e.g., towels) needed during our stay. I refer Hotel Inn Express West, Wylie to anyone.
- 2/5
The room was not great. It had weird paint colors (bright yellow and blue), dirty carpet, scuffs on the walls, and a broken end table. We truly talked about just eating the cost of the room and going next door to La Quinta or somewhere else. When we arrived, one elevator was down. My partner is in a medical boot so we took the other elevator up to the third floor. When we went to check out in the morning, BOTH elevators were down. We had to carry our luggage down three flights (and again, my partner is in a medical boot). It felt like the air conditioner was off in part of the hotel.
- 3/5
LED lights on top of bed shining on ceiling all night. Great if like nightlights, horrible if you wake up wondering what time it is because there is so much light in the room. Exhaust fan in bathroom runs all the time. White noise probably helped diminish hall noise but was still annoying. Overall the experience was adequate - nothing more. It was a bed, bath and private room. That's it. Nothing very comfortable or horribly uncomfortable - just adequate.
- 2/5
The person on the night shift did not have any blankets for the pullout sofa bed. We got them from another person on the day shift for our second days stay.

The bathroom smelt like sewer every day. The shower was filthy. The wall behind the toilet looked like it had water damage. It was bubbled and peeling. The elevator was not working - wasn't stopping at the 2nd floor. Your employee at front desk wanted to put us in tge 2nd floor when there were rooms available on the 3rd floor. We rode the elevator once and it jerked when reaching the 3rd floor and the door did not automatically open. We started pushing buttons and eventually it opened. At least the bed was comfortable.

The entire staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and breakfast was very tasty and filling. The beds frames were VERY noisy so every time one of us turned over the other would wake up. The door squeaked loudly when open or closed and didn’t latch so we had to check it each time we used it.
- 3/5
* Now for the liw side. Pool bottom was slippery with algea. Gym was good but water dispenser was filthy and the drip tray was growing molds. All carpets on 3rd floor were filthy and stained, our room was OK. the blinds in our room was broken and stuck shut, we could not see out our window. Ice machine on 3rd floor was not working.
- 1/5
I liked that it was near my daughter. I did not like that it did not live up to the Holiday Inn reputation. It was dirty and crawling with cockroaches. Breakfast ran out an hour before it was to be finished. They clean the rooms every 5 days and when we asked if they could at least clean the bathroom she sis it would not be able to be cleaned today but would clean it tomorrow, they never did. We registered 4 people and got towels for 2. The pool was filthy and not able to be used. Broken elevator. Dirty carpets… filthy. Garbage cans in the hall over flowing and roach infested.
- 2/5
When we arrived, our room was dirty and smelled like wet dog. There were stains on the sofa bed and a considerable amount of trash under it. There were ants all over the room. The front desk clerk said there was nothing she could do, as she was the only staff member there. We had to spend the night in the room. Ants got into our things. We asked to borrow a vacuum, and tried to vaccum them up ourselves. The next day we were given a new room. It was cleaner, but still smelled like wet dog. The carpets throughout the common areas are in desperate need of cleaning. The breakfast staff were friendly and helpful. We won’t stay there again.

I have stayed in several rooms at this facility. The facility is pretty clean, with exception of spills on carpet in the hallways. Staff is always friendly. There are some minor things that need to be fixed, however, these things are usually because of damages done by guests. Overall it’s a 7/10. It’s a good location, majority clean and as a single female traveling, I feel safe.

Overall, the hotel was fine. Having stayed at mini Holiday Inn expresses in the past this one just seems to be a little off. The breakfast lacked any yogurt or much fruit at all each morning. Even though we stayed five nights and asked for the room to be cleaned up a bit on three different occasions it did not occur. Finally one day, they did pick up the garbage but then after removing our towels did not replace them. My wife and I had to go to the front desk to get towels when we return to our room at 10 PM at night. The hotel was not very busy during our stay, so we were surprised that there was not more attention to detail. It seemed that some of the staff might live at the hotel and often times we could find what appeared to be some of the family sitting in the hallways to talk on the phone. These events occurred later in the night and could be heard through our door. We will continue to stay at Holiday Inn Express hotels, but would not choose this particular location if we returned to that area.

Stained on walls and carpet. Breakfast was hard and stale and no eggs were available during breakfast.
