OYO Hotel Yuma AZ Desert Grove

I hope you did not charge me. This place was closed. I had to stay at a different OYO.

I didn't I did not like the fact that they canceled my appointment my stay at the very last minute and once I showed up at the door to get my keys and pay they are not using their establishment at this moment maybe for remodeling I did not receive my refund

Despite having a reservation, they did not have a room available. It took 45 minutes to find this out.

nice apartment. Friendly people. Pool. A little dusty but it was windy. No bugs, clean overall.

Place is a little dated BUT it had everything you need as a traveler, was clean and comfortable and even has a land line telephone!!

The property had a lot to it like a small pool, bbq and patio on the pluse side. on the minus side was is was a little run down and dated. The stove was from the 70's plaster chips on the walls and everything was just way out date.

The rooms was nice and clean. The staff was good.

A basic motel is all I was looking for at a good price. I was able to park my vehicle right outside my room. Good sized fridge & freezer.

I commute once a month and prefer staying there. Karen goes out of their way to make sure that I have everything I need and that I have the disabled room. It's very clean. Has a full kitchen and a pool that was open. It's very nice and comfortable and reasonable. I stayed there during the Hillary sandstorm and the electricity was off. And they relocated me to another Oyo until the electricity came back on then I wanted to go back over there. The staff at both places is very nice. What's the time it's quiet. Occasionally there's something going on but it's taken care of right away. I'm just sad they close it during the winter for the agricultural workers cuz if I had just a little more income I'd live in there full time I like like it so much. And they even allow pets which is awesome.

It was nice and cozy. The back screen wouldn't lock at first but maintenance was there promptly to fix it. Stores were close by for our needs. I would stay again.

The decor was very exquisite. There was a full kitchen. There was a balcony overlooking bushes and the pool. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The staff were welcoming. I honestly wish I could live their full time. It is pet friendly. There was soap, shampoo, body wash and hand lotion. I had the pool all to myself. First time I found a motel with a pool open since the pandemic. I loved that it had a sliding door onto the patio.

It took 30 minutes to get someone at front office.

Super friendly staff and the room was large and had a full kitchen. But the entrance was under construction, and the room was in need of renovation. But it had a new refrigerator and was very quiet at night.

Amazingly clean, cold air conditioner, free-fast wifi, too many cable channels on a large screen, a kitchen with fridge and the most gracious hosts. Thank you so much!

This is a small, independent place, with one other location, and was incredibly clean! The folks working there were very friendly, helpful and went beyond the necessary 'good' customer service when I wanted to find a particular place to eat. I will definitely stay here again - the price was right too!

Quiet mostly residential neighborhood, friendly staff. Room was large, dated but decent for the price. We were there just on an overnight stop so it was good for that, but has a kitchenette so would also be a decent place for an extended stay.

Motel for farm workers. Neighborhood is sketchy. Hotels.com did not accurately describe it.

Area of hotel was nice as it was close to everything there was also a kitchen area which was nice. Hotel bathroom wasn’t clean. There was even roaches at night at the bathroom. The shower wouldn’t drain.

Low budget hotel worth the price

Had choice of two rooms. First one smelled, second one was better. Appliaces are 70ish but did work. Had coffee but no coffee pot. And no toilet paper in the bathroom. Bed was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning worked well.

The man who greeted us was there within five minuets and was very friendly. The room was clean and the sheets are very soft, the pillows were super nice as well as an extremely comfy bed. They turned the ac on before we got there so the room was cool. They had good tv channels and a back slider door with a screen which was nice during the day when you wanted a breeze. The only down side would be the shower head could use some tlc (removal the buildup) and that messed with the water pressure. The kitchen was nice but not really needed in our situation seeing as we were only there for one night. The outside could use some paint but all in all we would stay again for sure.

The bedding was clean, but the rest was so old you couldn’t tell whether it was clean or not. Stains in bath and tub.

The check in was excellent, the young man that checked us in was very nice. The beds were ok. The a/c excellent. No soap, shampoo, cups water or coffee. Under the kitchen sink awful. Not comfortable with parking and area. Very dirty outside with trash and cigarette butts. Behind where i parked looked like vacsnt very old mobile homes. They looked abandoned but the area was clean. No bulb in lamp. 1 bed reading light did not work. When I checked in he said to call if I needed anything but after dental work I didn't want to. Needs lots of work.

Place closed for fumigation.they didnt notify web site when we got there the place was closed.still got billed w/ out refund.

We felt very unsafe in that neighborhood. There was an abandoned mobile home park next door. The room smelled like mildew and smoke. The only plug that worked was in the bathroom. I walked around in my shoes bc it felt dirty.

We killed 3 roaches within the first five minutes of entering the room. It smelled odd and was in bad condition (dirty carpet, chunks of wall missing etc). There was not one other car in the parking lot and we began to feel unsafe and decided to leave. We informed the front desk of the situation and they did nothing to alleviate the situation. We ended up leaving and having to find another hotel room. This hotel charged the full amount of stay to my card yesterday. This is not ok.

Felt like home away from home. Very quiet and humbling. Very much enjoyed the pool area.

It was nice to be furnished with all the necessary kitchen items. But the refrigerator froze all the food and drinks we purchased. The mattress was hard, yet somehow saggy, at the same time. The staff was friendly to begin with then became rude and abrupt. During our second night stay there was a stabbing outside our motel's sliding glass door. Needless to say this brought unsettling chaos throughout the night and into the next day (screaming, police knocking on door asking questions, investigators outside door for hours, crime tape and crime scene clean up scrubbing cement outside glass door when we woke up). Hardly got any rest. When I brought that up to front desk inquiring about the availability of the room for another night at possibly a discounted rate - I was actually quoted a higher price than the previous two nights. I then requested a later checkout time to get some sleep before having to get back on the road. I was granted until 1 instead of 11. I completely understand that they had no control over the tradegey that happened, but I'm sure they could have attempted to lessen shock.

First of all, Hotels.com rocks. I'm not sure what I was thinking when I booked this hotel, but when I got there I realized I had made a big mistake and there was no way I could stay there. This motel is out of the way in a strange location. The parking lot was so dark I had to use my headlights to find the room. The room was so hot there was no way the wall a/c unit would cool it off, the vents of the unit were black. The room was dirty, there was a long black hair on the bed, the towels looked like they belonged in a garage, the sink had remnants of what I assume was cleaning powder streaked. The carpet was filthy. There was no way I could stay there. I called Hotels.com and the agent called the front desk for me. They refused to refund my 2 nights there!! At this point I didn't care, I had to leave, but Hotels.com took care of me and I was beyond thankful.

The place was a zoo checking in,nobody knew how to use there "New Computer System"!! Lobby had no A/C!!! The first room they showed me had old carpet, bathroom was leaking..I was starting to gag from the smell and there was mold on the walls too. The second room they showed me was just about as worse! Finally they showed me a third room that I would normally not stay in, it was dirty and the commode leaked when you sat on it. It was getting late. I had already paid so getting my money back was not worth it...I am ex Army so I have slept in many conditions worse, I was only going to be there one night so I thought what the Hell and took the room..not a lot of sleep because I was seriously waiting for the roaches and bugs to come out and get into the bed with me LOL It's inexpensive to stay there!!! Don't waste your money you will regret it TRUST ME

Older building but well maintained. Employees are wonderful The housekeeping lady even cleaned the ashtrsy i had outside! Very impressed. Great job

Toilet needs to be replaced the bed needs to be replaced the carpet needs to be replaced should I say anymore

Motel was closed when I arrived. Lights off, nobody home. I went down the street and checked in elsewhere. Sent a message to Cheaptickets for a refund, and motel owners refused. Really? Spoke with bank who stated they will gladly reverse the charge. Total scam. Avoid this place.

Very dissatisfied with my stay here. When I checked in they wanted me to give a $50 cash fee in case the room was destroyed but no where on the site I reserved the room from days that. Then when we got into the room, the door was really hard to open however the bathroom window was very, very easy to open even with a window lock on it. I couldn’t even take a shower there because there was NO shower curtain. When I needed the front office, no one was in the office, answered the emergency bell, or answered a phone. That’s how I found out the bathroom window opens even with a window lock. The pillows suck as well. They were not comfortable and felt very flat. There were no extra blankets in the room and it got really cold in the room. I would not recommend this hotel at all.

It was hot in room

Hotel is conveniently located in a very quiet neighborhood close to many shopping and restaurants. The room a suite with a fully furnished kitchen, if you feel the need to cook. Bed was very comfortable and the overall suite was very clean. decor was pleasant. Pool area was well maintained. I highly recommend this place. had a very peaceful and comfortable stay.

Well we first got there and had a note on the door saying we had to drive to the other location they own to check in which was two miles down the road. Then when we got to our room there was three dead roaches. I contacted them and all I got was sorry to hear about that.

Terrible hotel. We did arrive after 10 and told them we were going to be late. They were nice to tell us after we reserved online and had to meet him at econolodge to pick up our hotel key. While driving there we had passed it up. There was no light knowing were the hotel was. As going inside we saw big roaches inside the hotel. It is also an older hotel. The room smelt like they just bombed the room. We called him right away and said we are not staying here and asked for a refund. They easily said ok at first but it was never issues by them. Worst hotel ever. Don't look at the review they all lied.

The owners are always so nice and helpful. We stay here every time we go to Yuma. Always very clean and comfortable.

Nice out of the way quiet vintage motel staff are very nice and for a property of this price there was absolutely no rifraff or shady characters around. Highy recommend this site if you don’t want to be bothered

It's pretty cool it has a stove and refrigerator, sink. It could be cleaner. You can hear your nextdoor neighbor. For the price it's good 👍

Dirty the shower didn’t work properly. The staff tried to help the best they could but she was overworked.

The room was clean and acceptable. No mold no bugs. I did not like that an agent was not present ever. The housekeeper was present. She was very pleasant.

A pleasent surprise to have stayed at the desert grove

Very friendly staff. Both the person at the front desk plus a maid the following morning addressed me by my first name and wished me well. They made me feel like i was home. The place is old, but clean and very well equipped.

The worse part is they switched the hotel to motel for oversold

We booked this hotel online about a week before our stay. The day we were to arrive - en route - we received a call telling us to contact a particular person upon our arrival in Yuma. At 10 PM, we arrived - and were told that the hotel had been overbooked. They transferred us to the Econolodge up the street. The Desert Grove was supposed to be a three-star (at least one site listed it as such). The Econolodge was no better than 2-star. And the Econolodge refused to issue us a receipt - sent us back down the street to get the receipt. (We were pressed for time, and couldn't do so at the time.) We still have not received a receipt and don't know what we were charged for our short stay - and the Desert Grove has not responded to our request after more than a week.

Property was clean, bed was ok, kitchen nice if you need a kitchen. Price was great and staff was very helpful.

It it wasn't great. I waited so long for someone to come fix my door that I missed my appointment and now I have to drive all the way back to Yuma and pay for a room again. But after all was fixed I would probably stay there again

Felt like a studio apartment and not just a motel room. Clean. Friendly. Had a stove and dishes. GREAT!!

If you are okay with lower quality you do get a decent sized room and full kitchen.

Very friendly check in. A bit dated suite. Very clean. What I liked a full kitchen, big refrigerator , full stove, new toaster, many pots, plates, silverware, etc. -For 50 bucks a night.

This place was gross! The room was so dated i thoght i was in the 70s. At first it appeared to be clean but looking between the mattress and headboard there was hair and other gross stuff. It was cheap but now I know why! First and last time.

This hotel had very large rooms with a full kitchen. The staff was so friendly & helpful. However, I learned from this experience to never again stay at a pet friendly motel because of the barking dogs. I was awakened early by barking dogs. Anytime one dog went out to do his business other residing dogs barked.

AC worked, Towels and sheets are clean and the lady at the front desk was nice. I’m very used to camping so I can handle it .... but I would not make my wife stay here.

I found The Desert Inn and Suites on Travelocity. I is basically in the same area that I like to stay. I got a call from the manager right after I booked the rooms to confirm we were coming. I had 2 friends coming with me on this trip, We checked in on a Friday afternoon. The staff staff that greeted us were two really sweet ladies and 4 of the cutest Boston Terriers you have ever seen. It was awesome! The rooms were great! Very comfortable with a kitchen with a full size refrigerator, range, microwave, dishes, pots and pans, even silverware and glasses! The bed was comfortable. We stayed two nights. I would definitely stay here again.

This is a very old property, it was in ok shape. It had a full kitchen..the bathroom door needed to be replaced. And the carpets were dirty...the staff was nice...I doubt I’ll stay here again... but if your looking for low cost and safe then this is it. If your looking for a resort type then this is not the place for you.
