The staff was accommodating and worked to get me a ground-floor room. I made a mistake when booking the room and accidentally selected a smoking room. There was only one non-smoking room left on the ground floor, and it was an upgrade. The staff worked with me on the price so that I could get that room. The room and property were clean. There was ample parking. Only a short drive to downtown Aiken with its shops and restaurants.

Travel nurse here, been staying for two weeks now and feels like home!
- 5/5
It was a great stay
- 5/5
Great room and parking! Nothing
- 3/5
Pros: good location – right across the street from Walmart, a gas station, Burger King, Dollar General, and Dunkin’ Donuts. Within the same parking lot was a Mexican restaurant, liquor store, and smoke shop. This motel has a laundry room with vending and ice machines. The continental breakfast offered oatmeal, waffles, toast, pastries, coffee and juice. The room was clean, and the bed very comfortable. There was also a small microwave and a very large sized mini refrigerator. The cons: the motel only had two small bars of soap, and a little tube of shampoo, there were no other toiletries. Although there was a TV, you really couldn’t access anything unless you have apps which you can sign into. There was a night where we could hear people being loud outside our door which was disruptive of our sleep. The motel did not have an elevator so if you are in for a long stay, hope that you get a bottom floor so that you don’t have to climb the stairs. Our room was in the front which didn’t offer much of a view except the side of a restaurant while the back view at least had some greenery. The price of what we paid was much higher than what the motel is worth. However, we went during the time when the masters were playing in Augusta, which was only 30 minutes away. There was also no coffee maker and if you want to walk, forget about it because there are no sidewalks around.
- 4.5/5
Close to Augusta needs an elevator… And some maintenance. our sink faucet was constantly running
- 2.5/5
Good location. Room had a musty smell. Tea was not available.
- 4/5
Great location It’s a little dated and just needs some TLC
- 2.5/5
They were extremely friendly and tried to make the stay as comfortable as possible. They had a few roaches. The other guests were extremely loud. One incident where a gentlemen was trying to kick a door in 2 doors down from us. Music blaring at 5am waking my kids up.
- 1.5/5
I liked that it was close to my aunt and uncle's house and that we weren't in the hotel long. The smell was awful. The staff was not unkind, just not professional. The check in smelled and we were offered free waters but they came out of a ice chest...??? I've never experienced that. The room itself, as soon as we walked in, the smell was outrageous. It was very late, there wasn't anything we could do ab it. One of the beds were broken and leaned heavily to one side. Me and my kids didn't even sleep under the sheets bc everything smelled. I thought i was booking the econo lodge in Augusta that I stayed at a few months ago. My bad!!!! Same price but quite different experiences. It was gross. I will never go back and will never tell anyone to stay here... ever.

Had to leave in the middle of the night because of bed bugs. Got bit up. Told the front desk, they told me that there was nothing that they could do and that I had to wait for management. Waited on management, emailed them pictures and videos of bites and live bugs. I asked numerous times to receive a formal, written incident report but have yet to receive one. Management keeps saying they’ll call back but I’m the one who has to keep calling them. I’ve alerted DHEC, BBB and code enforcement to try to help ensure nobody else goes through this. I’m allergic and will eventually have to go to a doctor for antibiotics/steroids but am waiting for the incident report. I expect full compensation for my room, my deposit and any further medical bills associated to this or I will be seeking legal action. Happy 18 year anniversary to me and my wife, very disappointed in Econolodge.

I had a wonderful time and the staff was very nice and friendly

Nothing
- 5/5
No comment because I got it for my son
- 3/5
Hair everywhere in the bathroom and shower
- 2.5/5
I didn't like how the outside was and how the rooms look online look nothing like that in person. I jus figure if you are paying 80.00 or more you should get your money worth. This hotel was more like a 50.00 a night stay. Just know what is being advertised online, make sure it looks like that in person.

There were bed bugs everywhere,

Nice
- 5/5
The rooms are very clean and spacious well keeped and the staff is very friendly have stayed numerous times and will stay again when I come back to finish the job I'm doing.
- 5/5
Had an issue with the microwave basically frying, I was offered the lobby microwave to use, if I needed to. I declined due to having a plan B. I did observe the bathroom needed minor touch up, but nothing that stuck out for being highly upset. Everyone speaks to you like you’re someone, and input is very important to them. I have never had any issues with the hotel. They make a lot of effort to satisfy.
- 0.5/5
Ironing board in room no iron. Hair dryer didn't work. Room was too hot, thermostat was not accurate.
- 1.5/5
The air conditioning worked great! The bed was reasonable comfortable. The furniture is badly outdated. The couch in my room was very old and had multiple stains on it. I wouldn't dare sit on it or put my luggage on it the hair dryer was barely hanging on the wall by one screw. I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and when I flipped on the vanity light there were two roaches on the countertop. The floors were extremely dirty and gritty. I took a damp towel and used my feet to wipe down the floor near my bed and the towel was brown by the time I was finished spot cleaning the floor. I feel the room could have been much cleaner than it was. When we checked in there was a table outside our room with beer cans and old food left from the night before. I did notify the front clerk about it immediately. She did get it cleaned up pretty quick.

Fine for a couple nights… in desperate need of updates / better cleaning
- 2/5
Housekeeping tried to force her way into my room. Glad I had the chain on the door.
- 5/5
Overall beautiful place
- 2/5
There was hair on the bathroom floor and roaches as well. The bed seemed clean. I did not feel safe because people were coming off the street, walking to people outside their door making exchanges , then walking back to the street. We could also smell someone smoking weed outside our door late at night. When I went to the office area to get coffee there was a man sitting un a chair watching me and talking to himself. He didn’t seem to be affiliated with the property.
- 1/5
Dirty
- 1/5
Dont ever try to take a waffle they offer to you- up to your room to eat- you will be banned from the place if you- yes you heard right- banned for taking 2 waffles up to the room to eat in comfort got us banned from going back!!
- 1/5
Due to snow storm I was unable to go to a funeral, which is the reason for the hotel stay. The people at the hotel have refused to cancel my reservation as requested. They were rude and hateful.
- 5/5
It was a very good stay than expected. Check in was smooth and staff are so so nice. They will make sure to address any of our needs and concerns. Stay is quiet and there is a restaurant in 100mts distance that’s an advantage. Rooms are good to stay. Hotel staff are highlight to this property, they are very professional and helpful.
- 3/5
Booked the hotel room but they said they don't take fema. So I didn't get to stay there
- 5/5
Very friendly
- 4/5
Was a ok place to stay. Would stay here if I needed to.
- 4/5
I like that the area is around alor of things.
- 4/5
We stayed because of the Hurricane and we were three days without power. We are senior citizens..we needed the AC and a Hot shower. The front desk bent over backwards to accommodate us. They were friendly and helpful...the room was dated but clean and well maintained. And under the circumstances the price was right.
- 1/5
The room smelt and had roaches. Reserved two nights, but only stayed one due to the roaches. They wouldn't refund the other night either. Instead the front desk said roaches are common.
- 5/5
Customer service was great an also area was great.
- 1/5
I don’t believe I got a full refund, which is sad but Hotels.com was very helpful I never leave reviews, but this was pretty bad
- 5/5
💪
- 5/5
Excellent location. Good service.
- 3/5
Bathroom needs to be renovated , and cleaned better.
- 4/5
The rooms were very spacious and clean. There’s a Mexican restaurant on the same parking lot - very convenient for dinner. The young man at the front desk (cannot recall his name) was very friendly and helpful - he said they have breakfast in the mornings but if you leave prior to breakfast, they have goody bags to go. Very thoughtful!
- 4/5
Convenient and comfortable
- 1/5
Cons - this site is in desperate need of upgrade and thorough cleaning. Our first room had ashes on the surfaces, a dirty bath towel hanging in the bathroom, the fridge was frozen, an outlet wasn’t functioning and it was just overall dirty. We went to Walmart and bought our own towels, sheets, pillows and sanitizer. Very disappointed. Book with caution!
- 1/5
Black Mold in bathroom
- 5/5
The front desk staff was so so so nice. The go bags were a very nice touch, as we were there for the Masters so it was nice to be able to grab food and go. I will say the attention to detail in the room was lacking a bit. We found a container of onions in the fridge and a pepperoni on the floor by the sofa, left by the last person to stay in that room. Other than that it was a perfectly nice stay. The folks at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. The TV was great, it was nice being able to watch Netflix.
- 5/5
We stayed here due to its proximity to The Masters (about 30 minutes away). Hotel was clean, beds were comfortable and they prepared a breakfast-in-a-box for us to take away in the morning so we could get on our way quickly in the morning. Very accommodating and kind staff. Thanks.
- 3/5
Picture is not what the rooms looks like and the king bed isn't comfortable at all. But it was a clean hotel and they cleaned everyday
- 2/5

- 4/5
The complimentary breakfast every day was fresh and delicious. I will highly recommend Eocon Hotel to my colleagues!
- 3/5
Did not have coffee maker in room, hair dryer did not work, non smoking room smelled terrible of smoke, wall behind bathroom door had pee on it. Had a nice floor.
- 1/5
The staff was overall pleasant, but lacked the resources to be as responsive as they should have been. The furniture was old & stained. A dead bug was in the bathroom on arrival, & a live roach was seen in the bathroom during our stay. The TV available channels' listing was outdated. The towels were stained. The bed linen had holes in it. Overall - poor condition!
- 4/5
.Nice place good people swesome
- 1/5
Terrible there was stains on the sofa, they were stains on a bed linen, there was more on the tub, it stink.
- 2/5
The room was big with comfortable. The issue was that the guest in the next room was loud and up all night.
- 4/5
We will consider staying there again.
- 1/5
Floor had used band aid and dog food on it upon entering. Bathroom had wall to wall hair including tub and soap dish.
- 1/5
This property was in bad shape.
- 2/5
There was roaches
- 1/5
The service was alright but when i got into the room it looked nobing like the photos I killed to big roaches when I walked through the door the bed was very uncomfortable. It was dusty stains everywhere i ended up just sleeping there one day out of my stay and checking out.
- 1/5
People selling drugs in breezeways. Blood stains on bed, flies and roaches.
- 2/5
Filthy sheets, hair in tub, hair on counter sink, toilet not clean, sticky tables , broken remote for tv, old furnishings, no communication cards, no complimentary breakfast or coffee
- 4/5
Very comfortable room
- 1/5
We didn’t feel safe. Barricaded door with chair and slept with clothes on in case that we needed to take off in a hurry. Morning didn’t come fast enough staying at this Econo Lodge.
- 1/5
This hotel was awful! When you walked in to check in you were hit with a stench of cigarette smoke. The stairs to our room were rusted out and looked unsafe. Once we got into our room the side tables and tv stand were dirty and dusty. There were what looked like cigarette holes in the comforter and it had a strange smell. The bed was not comfortable at all. This was a terrible hotel!
- 3/5
It’s a very old and dingy hotel. We just needed a place to crash for like 12 hours driving from Arkansas to Myrtle, South Carolina. It’s not the best of course but it’s just like a basic motel. I didn’t see any bugs or anything like that but it didn’t feel clean at all. I wore my flip flops in the shower. I’ve seen worse motels but I’ve seen better. There’s a small pub/bar next door so there’s a lot of night traffic and drunk people so just go straight to your room without stopping. I didn’t feel unsafe but I didn’t feel perfectly okay there. The front desk guy was very nice though. Bring a blanket because theirs are thin. Oh but AIKEN is a beautiful and safe small town! It was voted one of the best small towns to live in in the U.S. I felt completely safe and happy in the neighborhood.
- 1/5
Carlos was great at checkin, cant knock him. However, the room, I wish I could have turned around and left. The housekeepers clearly don't do their job correctly. It was pretty dirty in areas. The sheets were clean, at least they looked it anyways. The fridge, microwave were dirty. Halfa**cleaned the bathroom and sink area. The little clear holder for soaps and shampoo, was sticky and filthy. There was blood on bathroom door. Once got up to use bathroom, went to wash hands. COCKROACH crawling on handtowel. Therefore i kept lights on at all times, did not rest at all. No coffee maker, not that i would use anything in the room. We didn't even shower. Got there, no washrags in room. No back to the remote. Floors were dirty. The hotel needs updated badly. It was pretty much a shady place to stay. Inside and outside just nasty. Went to check out, was gonna let them know how i felt about my stay, nobody in office and door was locked. We just slid keys through glass doors. I will be contacting corporate. Never again would i stay there
- 1/5
This wasthe most deceitful advertising I ever seen. The room and vending room were dirty. We would have changed rooms but there was nothing on 1st floor.Hair in tub, which leaked from shower onto floor. Wire coming through mattress and room smelt like a wer ashtry.
- 2/5
Our room was very dirty, nothing was clean but the bed. Nothing was washed clean, light switches, tub, toilet. Very dirty place, someone wrote on both mirrors with marker and the staff never cleaned it.
- 3/5
This hotel is about 15 years overdue for a major refurb. The last time anyone tried, it appears amateurs were engaged to do the work very quickly, and that was a while ago. I was OK staying here by myself; traveling with family, I'd go elsewhere.
- 1/5
The room was disgusting. EVERYTHING was dirty and stained
- 5/5
The staff was amazing and ready to assist us at a moments notice.
- 1/5
Place was filthy, razors under couch, no clean towels room service was dirty and disgusting . Trash in room on floor.
- 3/5
The room had not been cleaned the first night I stayed and I arrived at 2:30pm in the afternoon. Additionally, no one ever arrived after this...So I used Lysol spray and wipes cleaning it myself for an hour.
- 5/5
Easy check in , clean room , easy parking and quiet
- 4/5
It was ok but could have been better clean room just nolf
- 4/5
Overall for the price it was ok except this man who lives there has a loud ass truck that he cranks early in the morning and raises the motor to wake the whole hotel
- 5/5
Great place
- 4/5
Good location at a good price"....................
- 2/5
Avoid! There are no rooms that are non smoking. Booked a non smoking room and upon entry it smelled like someone was in the room with an entire pack of cigarettes lit. They did change my room, but the next one smelled of febreeze and smoke and there were cigarette burns everywhere. Room was very dirty. Some of the furniture looked like it had never been cleaned.
- 1/5
It was so dirty I had to clean the tub 3 times myself. The room smelled of smoke. The bedspread was stained & the floors were filthy
- 3/5
Old hotel in need of a lot of repairs. Still had old spring mattresses. Service was nice. Our room didn’t feel very clean.
- 3/5
Pretty much what I expected. Down for the Masters so prices were very high all over. Area was not the greatest but ok. Staff was friendly. Room had an odor and was quite outdated. Get what you pay for
- 4/5
I was pleasantly pleased with the econo lodge stay. It was a last minute booking and well suprisingly for the price no complaints.
- 1/5
Left early. People comming and going all hours. Doors slamming loud trucks girl hacking outside of door. Not a family place. Would not stay there again
- 4/5
Very good place to stay. The staff is friendly and the room was comfortable
- 4/5
Once we complained, then we had towels, room was cleaned, but after first night they had done nothing
- 2/5
The staff was friendly, but the room was a non smoking room but reeked of cigarette smoke. The bathroom, specifically the shower wasn’t very clean and the bed was SO horribly uncomfortable.
- 4/5
Staff very Helpful, easy access to main room and amenities
- 3/5
It was ok towels could be cleaner,no wash clothes to much hang out on property
- 4/5
Bathroom kind of nasty and their was a stain on the sheets. Manager wasnt friendly. Overall it served its purpose.
- 2/5
This isn't a five start joint but those staying there already know that. I booked relatively last minute for the Masters, this was about all I could find for <$200. I may have rated it higher if I wasn't relegated to a smoking room (I knew this upon reserving...not necessarily EconoLodge's fault). I arrived at 2:00am and the service was very friendly and helpful. Beds weren't bad, just the smell. Ugh!
- 1/5
Room had been repainted and linoleum floor put in (thank God, because I can't imagine carpet). Toilet loose on floor. Best part was the new shower walls. BUT..they never installed the shower diverter, so you couldn't shower. Room was quiet and location close to Masters. We booked 6 mo early at $50/not thru Expedia. Hotel refused our reservation because they charge $200/nt during Masters week. Thank God Expedia customer service stepped in. Avoid, avoid, avoid.
- 4/5
It was good
- 4/5
When we showed up tonight to check in the hotel did not have our reservation. The front desk did the best they could to get us in at a decent rate but it makes me worry about using Expedia in the future
- 3/5
I could’ve picked a better choice, not the best.
- 1/5
NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET IS WHAT THIS IS, NEVER EVER AGAIN. THIS IS UNFORGETTABLE BAD
- 1/5
Don't stay here and expect to be able to sleep at night. The zombies walking about, smoking and smoke coming thru vents, noisy a/c that turns on and off.
- 5/5
The room was very comfortable and clean. The receptionist was extremely helpful and nice. There was a Mexican restaurant within walking distance and the food was delicious. Walmart was across the street and Sam's club within a 1/2 mile. The Aiken arts center wasn't far at all. Very pleased with my stay and will definitely stay there again. 😊😊😊
- 4/5
appreciate the outlets on the bedside lamps, sometimes you can't find anywhere to charge your phone. Wi-fi inconsistent.
- 4/5
I had a good stay my room was very clean, but my neighbors were a bit loud. The lock on my door was broken.
- 1/5
Gross non smoking room was missing the smoke alarm and had burn holes in the furniture
- 3/5
Room had roaches coming from everywhere. Your first thoughts is that room is clean but once you try and get settled the roaches came out
- 2/5
I hate to say it, but we were kept up to wee hours of the morning from other loud guests, and the bed was absolute nightmare to sleep on. Hard as a rock! The carpet was dirty there was "red" drops on the carpet and I don't even want to know what that was from. The bathroom had a broken towel bar and the fan did not work. It was just not a good experience at all. Out dated, drab, uncomfortable, loud guests, hard bed. Miserable.
- 1/5
The room was filthy, the carpet disgusting, the smell in the room was horrendous, I had to go buy Fabreeze to spray in the room it was so bad ! Never again.
- 1/5
Run down and dated. No sprinkler system. Everything was sticky feeling. The carpet was nasty. No shampoo or Kleenex. Linens were whipped.
- 4/5
Towels and rags were stained luckily I had my own
- 4/5
The hotel room was very clean but JUST SLIGHTLY on the shabby side. Obviously, it's not the newest hotel in the area. We didn't care b/c we were there for the Masters and sightseeing in Aiken. The hotel was the perfect location for Aiken, just a mile away from great restaurants and the charming old part of town. It's a great destination. The best thing about the Econo-Lodge was the staff. They couldn't have been NICER. Simply put, they were just terrific people - super friendly and eager to please. They also had prepared maps for anyone needing to go to Augusta - and their directions were extremely easy to follow - which took a big headache out of our trip. They have good coffee in the morning, there's a lot of options for food in the immediate vicinity, and the atmosphere was great because of the staff. Would definitely stay there again!
- 1/5
Rooms was horrible! We asked for non-smoking but every room smelled like smoke! (We rented 4 rooms!) There was cigarette holes in the bed covers & in the mattress. The room was NOT clean! We requested for all 4 rooms to be on the ground level because of our family being together & having an elderly, handicapped with us & we wasn't given that!
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and we had no issues with the stay.
- 4/5
It was in a good location close to the event i was in town for
