Bar was great. Restaurant food very good. Room had a light out, leaky shower and sticky floors.
- 5/5
Our rooms and beds were comfortable and lovely. We had a middle of the night arrival, and the staff member could not connect our Marriott loyalty number to our folio but offered lounge passes as service recovery. Dining option food service was a bit slow, but the staff were lovely. Being able to walk through the tunnels to get to The Egg was wonderful for an evening show.

The connector between the hotel and convention center was great in the frigid weather. We could see the capitol building from our 9th floor view. We payed ahead of time through our app. When we checked in, we were charged a second time, it was about $150 more than what I originally paid for. We did get the refund 5/6 days later.

Proximity to MVP Arena I think the room was smaller than what was presented in picture. Also I think complimentary coffee/ breakfast would have been nice.

The room was very clean and comfortable The woman who works days at the front desk was very unprofessional. Every time I approached the desk, she acted like she was being put out by my presence. When I was waiting to check in, I witnessed her being rude to a guest that wanted early check-in and then proceeded to talk bad about her when she left. The younger gentleman who is also helping at the front desk was lovely. Perhaps you should give her job to him. I also had a less than stellar experience with the shuttle driver. I asked for a ride to the airport and he sighed and looked at me like I was putting him out. The front desk clerk (woman) said he was feeling sick. I offered to take a lyft but the only appropriate staff member (young man) assured me that it was no problem. Not that it matters, but I am Bonyoy Platinum so I was given early check-in. The food in the restaurant was adequate and the staff friendly, but the furniture was very worn and tired. I would have been embarrassed to have a business associate meet me there.
- 5/5
We loved our stay! The room was spacious, clean, and modern. We were there for an event at the convention center— loved that everything was easily accessible via the “sky walk,” and we could come and go as we pleased throughout the day.

Staff helped to resolve a problem at the apartment at our arrival in a timely and professional manner . Everyone very attemptive to our family

Was not too bothered about beds etc. But tea and coffee for machines not replenished had to ask at reception. Also in house restaurant and bar closed too early 9:00pm

The hotel was extremely convenient since it's located next to the Capital Center, which is where the event we were attending was held. The rooms are very comfortable and well decorated.

We stay at the Renaissance every time we're in the area. Gorgeous hotel with phenomenal staff and Wellington's is a fantastic bar and restaurant.
- 3/5
Clerk at check-in must have been having a bad day, she was curt and dismissive. Before booking I called ahead to see if the hotel had EV charging. They said yes we do, right in the hotel's parking facility. When I got there, I found they had two EV spots. One didn't work, the other was slow. But the problem then was that EV charging was extra fees nobody had mentioned. So in addition to the $22/night parking fee (announced), there was $30-$35 EV charging fee (unannounced). I asked front desk to credit my account; this person was much nicer though not hopeful. But she did check with the manager, who agreed to credit my account -- but then they never did. The hotel and room itself was very clean and comfortable.

Great Clean Nice Stay ForSure

This is a wonderful hotel. The staff was extremely nice and helpful and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Food at the restaurant was also very good. We highly recommend this hotel if you are in Albany!

I thought I would have to call AAA, but the lady at the front desk said, “Let’s try this first”. Two men from the engineering department came. Although I thought my key fob was to blame, they were able to determine that the key fob was in good working order. They also showed me how to take an actual key out of the key fob, so that we could open the car. I didn’t even know that key was there. Even though we were now able to access the car, it still didn’t start. eventually, they told me that they had figured out that I had drained my battery. The overhead light failed to go off when I exited the car on the previous day. We still did not have to call AAA. They had a device that charged the battery of my car. I was saved! It seems to me that this is definitely service above and beyond the call of duty. I was impressed with their professionalism, their courtesy, and their expertise. This hotel seems to take very good care of their guests.
- 5/5
All was good but the night stand was dirty with dust and someone’s hair.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel
- 5/5
Nice modern hotel next to Capitol buildng.¹
- 5/5
Could not ask for a better location and the premises was superb. Excellent on site parking with immediate access
- 3/5
The Albany Renaissance is a nice hotel but seems to be on the brink of being neglected and becoming overwhelmed by many factors.!it’s in a great location has terrific parking and a good restaurant in Wellingtons. For me my stay was too expensive considering the state of everything. Comparable price level hotels offer far more in overall premises conditions, ambience and service .!I am not saying my services and interactions were bad but for what I paid more could have been offered.
- 5/5
The property is beautiful, rooms are pristine, and the staff is very friendly.
- 3/5
Contrary to the hotel statement, there is no reliable shuttle to the airport from this hotel. When we asked for a ride for the following morning to the airport, we were told that if the shuttle driver will be around we can get a ride.

I gotta say that i stay there quite a bit and always request a corner high floor. this time they put me on a low floor in the middle. not too happy but when i went back down to the desk they put me in a corner yes, but not a high floor. oh well.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful property. We felt like royalty!
- 5/5
I love the Renaissance Hotel. It’s clean and modern. The hotel is kept in great condition.
- 5/5
The hotel itself was impeccably clean, from the lobby to the guest rooms. It was evident that cleanliness and upkeep are a top priority, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The atmosphere was both modern and welcoming, offering a relaxing retreat after a busy day. Another major highlight was the hotel’s location—it was conveniently situated near all the places I needed to visit, making transportation effortless. Whether for business or leisure, this hotel offers an ideal spot to stay in Albany. Overall, I highly recommend the Renaissance Hotel Albany and will definitely be staying here again in the future!
- 5/5
Stayed for a Cheer competition and it was easy to check in and check out!
- 5/5
Truly lovely restoration of an old grand hotel - modern art touches throughout - very friendly and helpful staff. And a bar with charm! Looking out on the Capitol -
- 5/5
We have an Electric car and we're pleased that they have level 2 charger on site. Only problem was one of two connectors is not working and we thought after we had inquired as to EV location in garage they would have advised us about the known malfunction so we wouldn't waste our time trying to make it charge. On site shuttle driver Jim gave us a lift to a local shop .... Appreciative as it was too cold and too many blocks away to walk!

It was a nice enough hotel but for the rating and price (relative to other hotels in the area), I was expecting much more. The staff was mediocre, not particularly professional or friendly. Probably would not stay there again.

Loved it. Very beautiful hotel. The staff is fantastic. Room is clean and good looking
- 5/5
Best hotel for any conference at the Albany convention center. Restaurant has quality food & good bar vibe in evening
- 5/5
Clean, beautiful rooms, and incredibly hospitable staff, a convenient snack and drink bar in the lobby. You can’t ask for much more when passing through a small town like Albany. Great views from the room, comfy beds. You won’t be disappointed.
- 5/5
Great stay kids love all the eggs and the view of the egg. prefect for after a show. short walk to MVP arena.
- 5/5
Great location!
- 5/5
walking distance to mvp which was our reason for staying.
- 1/5
Front desk staff not available-waited long to check-in. When finally helped, Reserved room was unavailable at check-in. Put in accessible room, assured there was no difference-bed was so low and so uncomfortable-very hard to get in and out of and move around in-physically hurt when tried to get in due to hard bed frame unavoidable; worst hotel experience/bed. Restaurant short-staffed-many open tables but told the wait was over an hour for 2. Way over-priced ($300) for that experience. Would not stay again. Only parking available cost $.
- 5/5
Perfectly located close to government buildings and shops.

- 5/5
Nice place, short stay though.
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
It is a nice place, not much going on. Not many amenities. They have a big place, no swimming, or nice place to enjoy. It is just very quiet.
- 5/5
Great place!
- 5/5
As a food & beverage professional the property and dining atmosphere was excellent! The meals we had were above average (2breakfast,1 dinner). Daily parking fee was unexpected but understandable for the convenience of being downtown.😎
- 5/5
The staff was helpful and respectful. The property was elegant and well-appointed. I was especially grateful after leaving another property, due to my asthma and their disrespect. Renaissance was a delight.
- 5/5
The Renaissance is a beautiful, elegant hotel. It is conveniently attached to the Albany Convention Center via a walkway that also extends to the MVP arena making events at either location easy to get to. The hotel is subdued and impeccably clean. A few photos on the lobby attached.
- 5/5
It was great!
- 5/5
Beautiful room - bed was very comfortable
- 4/5
Nice enough.. the hotel restaurant Wellington was not well staffed and took a ridiculous amount of time for us to get served. The dinner choices we had were tasty however breakfast was definitely subpar… overcooked eggs, burnt fingerling potatoes and chewy bacon. Very disappointing considering the cost of the room and restaurant pricing. Staff were courteous. Would stay again but do not recommend the restaurant.
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Location was great and the staff very friendly. Room was clean and very modern. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Property was nice. Every where i needed to go was within walking distance. Helpful staff.

- 5/5
Tour of Capital building was fantastic!
- 3/5
Last minute stay because of snowstorm. First room was dirty. Second was better but not great. Food overpriced; got my order wrong.
- 5/5
The room is esqusit and very comfortable bed
- 2/5
Easy access to MVP Arena
- 5/5
Great conference location
- 5/5
My husband and I stayed one night at the Renaissance in Albany and had a wonderful experience. We arrived around 8pm to check in and the front desk was very helpful in directing us to the hotels restaurant Wellington’s. We had an amazing dinner there, and the next morning a great breakfast! The room was exactly as pictured, very clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again if in Albany! Highly recommend
- 5/5
Everything is great!
- 5/5
Location was ideal but more so it was super comfortable and even more important, it was definitely clean. Smelled clean upon arriving and was clean after inspection. Staff was really nice and helpful. Room service was super fast too!
- 3/5
This is a great place to stay if you are going to the convention center or The Egg for a concert. It is clean, updated and the room was relaxing and comfortable. However, at night, the connector walkway is locked and the area is very quiet. It made me feel unsafe. There was limited dining, a forced choice of $30 for breakfast or find a place within walking distance, of which there was none. Recommend you Uber or take a Lyft in from another hotel for those types of services.
- 5/5
My boyfriend and I spent the night in a king room on the 9th floor and it was perfect! The staff was amazing and so helpful and friendly. We would definitely go back.
- 2/5
It breakfast included which is untrue. The room I booked was not what I was given. When I questioned the staff member was complicit and basically just told me I was wrong even after I showed my booking. The best part of the hotel was the shuttle driver. Would not stay again. Especially for its price and level of service provided.
- 3/5
The drop off to the hotel entrance is inadequate
- 5/5
We had a wonderful time. Everyone was so helpful, from room service, ride to the concert venue, and the easy walk back with being out in the elements. The food was so yummy, we had lunch and breakfast via room service. The lobster grilled cheese, hot pastrami sandwich, apple cinnamon pancakes, the yogert parfait, and everything else we ordered were the best.
- 5/5
We stayed in a room with a king bed and it was very spacious. The separate sitting/laptop work area are a nice touch. We stayed at this particular hotel because it was extremely close to MVP arena, so it was in a very convenient spot. We felt safe staying there and we'd definitely stay again!
- 5/5
All good
- 1/5
Our room was next to elevator. Was up ALL night because of the drunk people coming and going. Worse night at a hotel, ever. Don't ever stay in a room on any floor with the last two numbers are 27 or 28
- 5/5
It is always a pleasure to stay here. It is definitely a 5 star.
- 5/5
We stayed here for the weekend, the service was great overall. The staff was amazing at giving recommendations especially Anthony Coleman the shuttle driver, he was knowledgeable about the area, making recommendations for restaurants and things to do. Anthony made our experience one to remember.
- 2/5
Oh boy. I don't know how this Hotel got so many good reviews. That is why I booked it. Arriving there started bad from the reception, really dirty and run down place. The only good thing about the place was the comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Awesome time.
- 5/5
So nice!
- 5/5
Very nice, new and modern hotel in the heart of Albany near the center city.
- 5/5
Amazing and perfect for a concert at MVP Arena.
- 4/5
I chose this property due to its proximity to The Egg Performing Arts center (1.5 blocks). Overall it was a good choice, parking plentiful and easy. A historic hotel, but the rooms were very large and modern. Drawback was that while the room was large, there were no chairs to sit in other than a hard, wooden desk chair. A room this size could have easily accomodated a club chair or sofa.
- 5/5
To the staff member that hid apples in my room for my mini scavenger hunt request, you are the best! DFTBA!
- 5/5
My check in process was fast & private, the front desk agent made me feel right at home. Will definitely be booking again.
- 5/5
Def nice place. Clean.... fun games in the lobby... breakfast was yummy. Would stay again
- 5/5
Great spot
- 5/5
Amazing as always! We love the Renaissance. It is a pearl in Albany. Great staff, rooms, restaurant look forward to our next trip! One of the best we have stayed in our world travels
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 5/5
The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The air temperature was very cool and comfortable for a hot summer evening. I would stay here again!
- 5/5
It's a very beautiful hotel
- 5/5
Our stay was great from beginning to end. The room was very clean (and I’m super picky) and also very comfortable. This might sound weird, but even the hallway smelled nice. The staff could not have been friendlier…from the front desk to the Wellington staff. Every meal we had there, which included breakfast lunch and dinner on various days was hot, fresh and delicious, and exactly how we ordered it. I can’t think of anything I’d change. We were close to so many things we wanted to see, and we walked everywhere we went. We can’t wait to come back! Don’t hesitate to book your stay there.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 4/5
Room and hotel were amazing. But server for morning breakfast was bit arrogant.
- 4/5
Late checkout should be honored for those with late check ins… Ashley needs to be understanding. Especially to repay customers that bring big business to this small town
- 5/5
Lovely hotel and restaurant. My only complaint was that the coffee maker didn't work.
