The hotel receives mixed reviews with guests praising the location, cleanliness, and friendly staff, but expressing dissatisfaction with the service, amenities, and value for money. Some guests experienced issues with housekeeping, noise, and room comfort.
- Great location in Old Town Alexandria
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Inconsistent service and poor communication
- Expensive for the quality of accommodation and services
- 5/5
Very nice hotel situated in the heart of Old Town, Alexandria. Very clean boutique-type hotel, excellent customer service, close proximity to retail stores, restaurants, bars. Plan to visit DC/VA area again in the Fall - will definitely rebook here again.
- 5/5
The conversations I had with Kim prior to my arrival were helpful and I appreciated the time spent. The check-in was smooth and we were given a 25.00 card to either of the two restaurants on the premises. We were also pleasantly surprised by an array of beautiful anniversary balloons, champagne/wine glasses, a celebratory note and snacks. Simply beautiful! The room was super large and clean. There was a nice robe with his/hers slippers. The choice of shower gel, shampoo etc. was fabulous as I try to use those that are toxin-free. I’d also requested a microwave beforehand and it was there, ready for use. We cannot thank The Archer enough for a splendid stay for our anniversary. It was truly a delight! The valet parking attendants were great and quite hospitable/helpful. The hotel decor and indoor/outdoor seating were phenomenal and also comfy! It felt so much like home. We will definitely recommend The Archer to others and would love to be their guest when we visit Old Towne Alexandria again. Oh, we can’t forget the surrounding area of quaint shops, restaurants and all kinds of charming places to pop into. The Potomac was nearby as well as beautiful brownstones, churches and so much more! Thanking GOD for leading us to this place through a local resident. Second to None!
- 5/5
Our room was clean and comfortable. The staff was, to a person, helpful. We would stay there again, gladly.

Polite professional staff. Great location within Metro station. Free trolly into waterfront, shops, and dining. Fast easy access to Dullas and National airports and National Mall.
- 5/5
Had another great stay at the Archer, very clean, comfortable and quiet in a great location.
- 5/5
Great service. Great Staff. As usual wonderful experience!!!
- 5/5
Beautiful and clean hotel in great location. Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
- 4/5
Overall the hotel stay was great. Staff was very helpful and attentive with any needs. The hotel itself was clean and well maintained. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because of the parking situation. There is no lot on site, Street parking has a 3hr limit, and valet is $45. Also the walls are a bit thin as we could hear our neighbors throughout the night.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4/5
The hotel had hot water on demand, a comfortable bed and was very quiet. We parked on the street for free overnight and fed the meter starting at 8 AM for $1.75 per hour. We could have used valet parking except the street space we found abutted the valet drop off area out in front of the hotel. The Home Grown restaurant is brunch offering from 6:30 am to 2 pm with reasonable pricing and a salsa verde pork and eggs menu item that is out of this world good!! Their food products are locally sourced. The Archer Hotel Alexandria was a convenient (7 minute drive), less expensive, perfect spot to stay after the Four Tops/Temptations concert we attended at the MGM National Harbor.
- 5/5
I really enjoy staying here when in town, the dog fee is too high in my opinion
- 5/5
Room was clean but ironing board was broken.Refrigerator was too small.Staff was excellent.Property was well maintained.Valet service was excellent.
- 4/5
The hotel was nice. Property was clean and very accessible to local shopping and restaurants. The beds were so comfortable. I wish I could have used the gym and spa. Would definitely come back in the future!!
- 5/5
Beautiful property, centrally located.
- 3/5
Overall, my experience at this hotel wasn't terrible, but it was a bit disappointing given my high expectations. I absolutely love the area, which is one of the reasons I chose to stay here, but the hotel itself didn't quite live up to what I was hoping for. The staff experience was hit or miss—the morning staff were friendly and helpful, while the night staff seemed less welcoming, especially when returning late. The valet service was also confusing and quite slow, so be prepared for potential delays if you have somewhere to be. Fortunately, I wasn't in a rush, but it could be frustrating for other guests
- 5/5
Spacious rooms. Excellent location in King Street close to everything but still quiet. Two onsite restaurants are first class
- 5/5
Loved it
- 5/5
Loved the location...quiet but convenient to both the metro (and easy 2-3 block walk) and all the King Street restaurants, shops and charm. The hotel has a lovely courtyard where we enjoyed cocktails in the evening, and breakfast from HomeGrown, which is directly accessible to the hotel lobby. Our room and bathroom was comfortable, clean and nicely appointed.
- 5/5
Great location, clean and comfortable. Highly recommend Archer in Old Town and Tyson’s Corner.

Great location. The restaurant and bar on the property were very good.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel in a nice area. Would stay again
- 5/5
New, clean and peaceful. Love everything. It might be nice to offer coffee and tea all day at the reception area instead of morning :)
- 5/5
The most comfortable bed I ever slept on. The is very nicely decorated, with quiet spacious rooms. Great breakfast option at the restaurant on site.
- 4/5
Great service
- 2/5
I like the location to places we visited. I also like the customer service. Everyone was very helpful. The cleaning staff was good as well. I have stayed at this hotel before and I did not experience what I did this time around. The room I stayed in this time was not good at all. The room shook every time doors closed and shook the bed area frequently. The sink got clogged during our stay and maintenance had to fix it. The shower also backed up. We requested maintenance for this issue but it was not needed as it fixed itself somehow.

Highly recommend this hotel. Perfect location and excellent services.
- 5/5
The staff was extremely helpful and kind. I had a problem with a leak in my room and it was immediately fixed - moved to a new (and better!) room. Enjoyed my stay and would come back again - also the breakfast at the attached brunch spot was delicious.
- 5/5
Beautiful deck with views of the city. Everyone was so friendly. Will return.
- 5/5
Lovely small hotel in Old Town Alexandria. Walking distance to the Metro stop as well as many restaurants and fun shops. Room was quite large and had everything we needed. My husband used the gym each day and said it provided everything he needed. Great courtyard in front of the hotel entrance to sit and visit outside.
- 5/5
staff was so courteous
- 5/5
Comfy beds and the proximity to restaurants and shops was perfect.
- 5/5
The staff were incredible and there to help with any question. The location couldn’t be better with easy access to the Metro, restaurants, stores and an easy walk to the waterfront.
- 5/5
Good room, very helpful staff, no complaints at all

Another excellent stay!
- 5/5
The Joyspa is awesome
- 5/5
Excellent staff, clean property, convenient location with a free trolley to take travelers to the waterfront and park.
- 4/5
Had issues with a leaking shower that soaked the floor and a non-functioning mini-fridge. Would stay again. Awesome location and welcoming atmosphere.
- 5/5
A special shoutout to Homegrown for breakfast—the John Denver omelet was hands down one of the best breakfasts I had during our trip! What truly stood out most was the exceptional honesty and customer service. I accidentally dropped my ID while using valet, and their team quickly turned it in to the front desk. The front desk staff went above and beyond by matching my ID to my reservation, calling me right away, and even taking the time to personally bring it to me in the restaurant. That level of care and attention meant so much. Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so comfortable, memorable, and stress-free. We truly appreciated it!
- 5/5
Breakfast was fabulous with many healthy options and the bar next door was charming! Trolley stop right up the street. Slept like a baby in those comfy sheets!!
- 2/5
The hotel is conveniently located if in Alexandria and has usual Kimpton amenities. Staff are a mix of really trying and could care less. Biggest issue was air conditioning in room was like having a truck engine nearby. Could not use because do noisy. When reported I noted the staff took it well, barely responded.
- 5/5
The location and room was perfect. Loved the caramels too!
- 5/5
Nicely located for walking
- 5/5
The Archer in Alexandria is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed. The courtyard is a wonderful place to read a book or enjoy a morning coffee in good weather. Just a short walk down King Street to the plethora of stores and restaurants. The presence of Peleton cycles in the fitness center is a nice addition.
- 5/5
This place is right in the middle of everything in old town. No need for a car can walk to restaurants and shops. Would definitely recommend this hotel!
- 5/5
Return visit for us, staff are friendly and helpful, bed comfortable, room spotless and lovely toiletries. We met up with friends for breakfast so can’t comment on food
- 3/5
Everything was good but to park car overnight was $40 which I found to be a little high
- 5/5
Hotel is great. Good location, decent price, friendly staff, and comfy bed. Restaurant attached has good food at resonable prices.
- 4/5
Nice room but was very noisy around 4 am. But staff responsive. Valet parking was extra. Restaurant attached was good for breakfast. Nice area
- 4/5
great staff, clean room
- 5/5
Location is excellent, staff was very helpful and accommodating and the breakfast/lunch was fabulous! Definitely will be back.
- 5/5
Staff were very helpful. We appreciated the hotels willingness to hold our bags after our check out time.
- 5/5
Great location - nice atmosphere - staff were very kind and engaging - valet parking was wonderful - no issues - beds were comfy. Thanks for a great stay!
- 5/5
The lobby had coffee and tea in the morning and delicious infused water all day. The Archer has a lovely courtyard and a wonderful restaurant for breakfast and lunch right next door called Homegrown. It was so nice to stay somewhere out of the ordinary chain hotels I frequent. I highly recommend the Archer for a wonderful stay in Alexandria.
- 4/5
When we arrived there was a lot of activity in the hotel, they had 2 functions running and you couldn't hear what the Front Desk Agent had to say, whilst she wonderful and did her best I felt we didn't get the experience we could have had. The room was clean and well kept but our room was next to the elevators - so when the event finished late at night we heard all of the continued celebrations of the people also located on our floor. They appeared to have a very good time. I would have to say though, the whole experience may have been very different if we had picked a weekend where the hotel was not as busy. We didn't stay for breakfast, there was no room at the restaurant - again due to the pure number of guests.
- 5/5
The room was comfortable, clean and modern updates. Unfortunately, our stay was quick so we really didn’t get to enjoy all of the hotel but I would definitely go back there again.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Our stats at the Archer never disappoint . The staff is outstanding, rooms clean and beds super comfortable.
- 4/5
Lovely hotel with terrific free local transport
- 5/5
The hotel was great. The only complaint I had was that there was no alcohol available while sitting in the courtyard.
- 5/5

- 5/5
It is a great location for this property. It is near the pier, restaurants, and shops. Yet it is tucked away in a quiet area. We were able to get parking right in front of the hotel (on the street) and could see the car from our window. The staff was friendly and accommodating. It was nice to sit outside in the evening and have a drink in a quiet square in front of the hotel's entrance. We also enjoy breakfast at the restaurant connected to the hotel. We would come back to stay there again.
- 5/5
The location is amazing. Walk out the door and you pass so many great restaurants and shops before ending up at the beautiful Potomac River area. The staff are very helpful and friendly.
- 5/5
Very nice boutique hotel.
- 5/5
We were driving a long distance after our stay and asked for a late checkout. They couldn't do much longer than Noon but offered it to us for a small fee. We were pretty happy about it because we were so tired after all of our travel complications. Our room was pristine and it was nice to have a long hot bath in a beautiful, deep tub complete with soaking salts. Breakfast was fresh and delicious and that Honey Bee Latte was one of the best coffees I've ever tasted! What a great way to start the morning. The valet crew was so nice helping us as we left, it really set the tone for that day and left us feeling like we made the right choice in hotels.
- 5/5
Our fireplace did not work, but the room was lovely. Clean comfortable. Staff was so helpful. Great stay!
- 5/5
Beautiful courtyard right in front. Lovely bar!
- 5/5
We enjoy staying at The Archer, the rooms are comfortable, the staff is so friendly and we love being able to step out into the hustle and bustle of King Street.
- 5/5
We had a large corner room with a very comfortable bed. A restaurant was conveniently located just off the lobby, that served us a large, delicious country breakfast. The price was affordable and well worth the money. Since I usually stay in a chain hotel this was a delightful change. I will definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
Room was very clean and spacious. We had booked the Archer suite with terrace. it has a large shower stall with a bench and rainfall shower which was nice! The Nespresso machine was fantastic as were the little caramels left in the room. Our suite was located on the left side of the building (not the greatest view) but the terrace was quite long so you maybe able to entertain a couple of other guests. Theres a sofa bed in the living room. Sleeping on it was just okay. We could see the courtyard from the bedroom windows. Now from the living room is where the bathroom entrance is located. While we didn't really have a problem with it, the frosted see through door may bother some guests especially if you're not traveling as a couple and want more privacy. And for the size of the bathroom I'm not sure why the toilet has to be so close to the wall which is at the entrance of bathroom! I'm petite and it was difficult grabbing the toilet paper off the holder on wall. We had to place the tp on the vanity so it was easier to reach. Maybe add a floor dispenser? We didn't take advantage of the restaurant or the breakfast. We didn't receive a meal voucher because we had booked third party. We wanted to explore Alexandria the short time we were staying there and there are so many options regarding dining. It's nice that the Hotel is on king Street and has a free running trolley. Staff was friendly, hotel parking could be a little cheaper for what People are paying.
- 3/5
After loving our stay several months ago, we were excited to stay at Archer again. Unfortunately, it did not live up to our expectations.
- 4/5
Great location, very clean, comfortable bed, small courtyard/fire pit area
- 5/5
The rooms are different, unique, with my first night on the penthouse floor, with a rooftop deck off of the bedroom. The double head rain shower, is so lovely, it is hard for me to leave it. It is new, pristine, with top quality of everything. It has a Nantucket vibe, with its charm and ambience. The staff could not be better, and all, exceeded my expectations. There is little said about this, in hotel, spa, with the services offered, a wide range. The two restaurants, are amazing, with both indoor, outdoor and takeout available. The breakfast lunch menu has an enormous range of choices, and delicious. The evening restaurant, is quaint, charming, with an open kitchen, and the only restaurant I have encountered where they actually know how to make a proper martini. What speaks the most about these two restaurants, the local residents frequent both, which I have not even seen in any hotel, in any state, thus far. Selecting this Archer will be an excellent choice, by far, and will exceed your expectations, with every little detail remembered. The staff are great, the decor is impeccable, and cannot say enough 5 star quality details, met at this hotel. The location is perfect: it is at the beginning of the shopping, and excludes the classic tourist stores one finds farther down. It has changed my impression of Old Town Alexandria, charming and NOT commercial!
- 5/5
Attention to detail is extraordinary.
- 5/5
Stayed in the Archer’s Den and it was absolutely amazing!
- 5/5
Nice room
- 4/5
The bathroom was not as clean as we would have hoped when we arrived, but the person at the front desk took care of it as soon as we talked about it.
- 5/5
I loved the hotel and the area so much I extended my stay for an additional 3 nights.

Love the location! We’ve stayed here multiple times. The room was disappointing. This is the first time I’ve stayed in a classic room, NEVER again. The sound was terrible, the room was small and the thermostat was impossible to maintain a comfortable temperature and the light that was blaring from it kept me up all night! I was highly disappointed from this particular stay. Also the staff that check us in…. FABULOUS!!! Give that girl a raise she was friendly, excited, covered all of the amenities…however the one that checked us out made me feel subpar.

Staff was so helpful! Loved this hotel. Next time will ask for balcony that faces courtyard & not back street

- 5/5
Was not able to eat breakfast only because there was an hour wait (lots of empty tables). Either the food is great or someone didn’t show up for work or both!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and the entire hotel was very clean and well kept. A wonderful experience.
- 5/5
My partner and I stayed in this property to celebrate her birthday, and it truly was an exceptional experience. From the staff who were inviting and attentive, to the modern style of the rooms, to the amazing amenities, and great food at the market and breakfast restaurant, it exceeded all of our expectations. The icing on the cake was the package they offered to our puppy which included dog treats, a bed, feeding bowl, and toy. This was all complementary! We definitely plan on staying here again during our next visit to Alexandria. Thank you to the staff for such an amazing experience!

Very good
- 5/5
Considering the cost of our stay the parking should have been included.
- 5/5
The staff was wonderful. The location is great. The bed and pillows were comfortable. It was a perfect place for a quick weekend away with my husband. I didn't love the shampoo and soap brand, but this isn't essential for me, and they were more than fine for the weekend. The room is not large, which is typical and expected for a boutique hotel. The room could use a few more drawers for clothes. It was tight with two people. All that said, the service is very nice. Our room was clean and quiet, and we enjoyed it very much.
- 5/5
The room was great with a couple of extras (water, candy, robes, slippers) that made our stay better. The bedding was very comfortable. The location was amazing and easy to get around!! We had breakfast 1morning and it was fantastic! Totally recommend it. I wish we did more. We would definitely stay at The Archer Hotel again!!
- 5/5
Perfect
- 5/5
Only there one night, but I would stay longer the next time and let you know.
- 5/5
We were there to celebrate my husband's 65th birthday. The staff was wonderful !! we will be back and I told all my friends.

Hotel is functional for a short stay
- 4/5
Comfortable beds, good service, great location. Hot water access poor and faucet leaked. Waiting for hot water in sink INTERMINABLE
- 3/5
Great location, but the property could use some updates. The shower door doesn’t stay closed, the water pressure is poor, and the bathroom faucet leaks.
- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
I came for quiet and relaxation and that is exactly what I got!
- 5/5
Very clean! Respectable staff! The attached restaurant and one of the best breakfasts Ive ever had. This is our second time here and we will always look to stay here when visiting the area.
- 5/5
Location is top notch, literally 20 feet to King St and all of the shops. Front desk staff was wonderful, especially Sophia. Rooms were spacious and clean. Will definitely stay there again.

This was a beautiful property, extremely clean, with very friendly staff. We wished the room or the hotel itself had a hot tub to warm up in. The room had a shower.

Quality, Price. And most of all, People. The quality of our experience is enhanced by the “Living Room” off the entrance and front desk area. The delightful “Homegrown” restaurant if the very best breakfast and lunch experience. The price is terrific! Feel like we are saving money compared to most other DC area hotels. Most of all, the Archer staff…kind of new generation with the culture of The Ritz. Thanks to the corporate management and teams who designed the Archer Hotel Experience!!
- 5/5
Loved everything about the Archer hotel. Great location on the quieter end of King St. staff was very accommodating. Our room was wonderful (was upgraded to a suite). Bed was so comfortable I plan on buying the same pillows. Highly recommend staying here and will stay here again next time we are in the area.
- 5/5
Close to the metro (3-5 minute walk) The room (balcony king) was very nice, spotlessly clean, and very reasonably priced for the location. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Everything was great! Valet parking with easy in and out access, great front desk people, really spacious rooms, and near good food.
- 5/5
Needed a hotel stay for the night and found Archer on Expedia. It was important during this stay that I had somewhere safe, comfortable and quite. And the hotel far exceeded my expectations. I have stayed in many hotels, but the staff was phenomenal. Went above and beyond to help and and assist, even in the middle of the night. Lovely, charming hotel right on King St, 2 blocks from our dinner reservations. Highly recommend. I rarely write reviews. Loved it.

The room was great with lots of unexpected amenities including bathrobe, slippers, an umbrella, and a different treat every day. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was spacious and well lit. The restaurant next door was convenient and delicious, and the valet service timely. As special shout out to Tyler Cole at the front desk who patiently, and I do mean patiently, helped me print a vital document.

Friendly front desk staff. Very clean hotel. Close proximity to everything.
- 5/5
Overall good stay.
- 4/5
Big, clean room. Cute part of town. Staff were a bit lecture-ey rather than nice. No breakfast. Weirdly little closet space. Mid water pressure in the shower.
- 5/5
Gorgeous property nestled in a historical and vibrant neighborhood. I always felt safe and well taken care of! The staff was so accommodating and attentive. Homegrown, the restaurant attached to the hotel was so incredible I made it a mission to get up early to have my breakfast there every morning.
- 4/5
Room was great. Had an awesome time. Location was wonderful.
- 5/5
my trip was very simple and i spent a lot of time outside of the hotel, so i can’t speak on the bar or the restaurant, but the room was spotless and very comfortable! everyone was friendly, professional, and accommodating
- 5/5
Clean and large rooms, friendly staff and easily walkable along King Street to many restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Clean room, clean building, quaint and quiet. Homegrown restaurant at the botto was great. Loved the welcome snacks in the room as well. Great location with easy access throughout the DMV area. Great that you can walk right out of the hotel and explore, also not too far from the train station.
- 5/5
Towels could be better. Good front office people
- 4/5
Hotel is nice and staff is friendly. However, I selected this location because it had an EV charger but the charger wasn’t working so I had to go multiple places to find one and walk back and forth in the cold.
- 5/5
Pleasant staff and exceptionally clean room
- 4/5
The breakfast was not great
- 5/5
Friendly staff. Clean property.
- 5/5
Spent 7 nights-- quiet and cleaning of the room every day- excellent
- 4/5
the staff was so attentitive!! room was smaller than expected but nice.
- 5/5
room was great clean, the water could have been hotter
- 5/5
The room was great! The staff was very friendly and accommodating.
- 4/5
Clean rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. We really liked this hotel. Great location if you are wanting to be near the train or metro, but close enough to great restaurants and shopping. The hotel offers coffee, water, and a hot chocolate bar in the lobby. Paid meal and drink options onsite. My only complaint is that the back of the hotel is noisy all hours of the morning. There is some type of loading dock and that created talking, beeping, and trash trucks starting at 3:45 am. I would stay again but not on that side of the hotel.
- 5/5
Have stayed here multiple times and the staff is always very nice and professional. The location is great, walkable to so much in Old Town Alexandria. Will certainly stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean room and pleasant staff. We had loud neighbors on one side of our room and we were upgraded to another area. The attached restaurant was excellent!

We had a very lovely visit at the Archer Hitel. Will definitely return

We loved the location and uniqueness of the place. Very clean. Would definitely come back.

We stayed in the Archer's Den suite, it's a great room, love the bathroom with the clawfoot tub in the shower. The sitting area is comfy and large, desk is good, they leave coffee and candy which is a nice touch. The bed is super comfortable. Everything was clean and straightened, the staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful. We stay here exclusively when we're in the area
- 5/5
I had a wonderful stay! The location is amazing and hotel is beautiful. I had a corner room overlooking King Street and all the Christmas lights - it was magical.
- 5/5
Stayed on two different occasion's. Location and valet parking is great. Staff is excellent. Cute and clean hotel. One of our favorites
- 4/5
Great location on King street.
- 5/5
Always a pleasure to stay at Archer!
- 5/5
This is our 3rd time staying here while visiting our son. Clean room, easy check-in, lovely staff.

Wonderful as always

Lovely rooms, super comfortable bed, and very modern facilities. A lovely stay.

- 5/5
Staff was great!
- 4/5
Friendly staff, great location.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service from curbside with valet parking and front desk service that was very helpful and courteous. Well stocked rooms that were very clean, inviting and comfortable. Very nice place to stay.
- 5/5
All good
- 5/5
We really love this hotel. It's become our go-to spot whenever we're in the area.
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the special amenities, including the umbrellas to use when it was raining as well as the water, hot chocolate, and apple cider in the lobby were also a special bonus.
- 5/5
We visited over Thanksgiving, so the hotel restaurant wasn’t open however the staff provided a list of local restaurants that were open so we could grab breakfast. We appreciated that extra touch
- 5/5
Room was spotless, staff welcoming.
- 5/5
Friendliest staff you can imagine! Could not have been more welcoming. I was upgraded for no reason and the rooms was huge. The bed was so comfortable-slept beautifully. The spa downstairs was a little barren but my massage was outstanding. I highly recommend.
- 5/5
Great staff. Beds were so comfortable. Nice and clean
- 5/5
Service was wonderful. Front desk, restaurant, and cleaning staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Loved this hotel!
- 2/5
early construction noise on first morning, very unconfortable bed.
- 5/5
Everything about this place was amazing
- 5/5
I had an excellent day and I thought this property offered a very good value for the area.
- 4/5
Great stay. Heat difficult to regulate and bed nearly touching wall.
- 5/5
Was very good
- 3/5
Only expensive hotel I’ve been in that
- 5/5
Wonderful
- 5/5
We had a wonderful stay. The front desk folks couldn’t have been more helpful. They were wonderful helping me get around by myself. The restaurant downstairs has wonderful breakfast and a great weight staff. I also had a massage at Joylife downstairs and Jennifer gave me one of the most amazing massages that I’ve ever had. Plus, such a beautiful little town with clean streets. I absolutely loved it there.
- 5/5
The Staff was very professional and accommodating. King Street in Old Town Alexandria is a dream. I recommend staying here. When in the area the Archer is my 1st choice. Also the attached restaurant “Homemade” food & service was phenomenal.
- 5/5
The staff very efficient and courteous! Rooms pleasant and clean. Quiet and comfortable!
- 5/5
Kind and helpful staff and amenities were great! Thank you!
- 5/5
Not very well soundproofed though.
- 5/5
It is a beautiful place
- 5/5
Check in was lovely, welcoming, friendly and she also advised us on the local events and food offerings
- 3/5
The restaurant in the hotel is delicious. I rated the hotel 3 stars due to the front desk staff during check in & the cleanliness of the hotel. The front desk staff was dismissive. In the room the furniture had permanent spots and the bathroom wasn’t clean.
- 5/5
Didn’t use it
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
Loved the hotel itself and the location, King Street bar, and great breakfast spot attached are all bonuses! Staff was friendly, and for the most part the hotel is excellent. However..... There was an on/off smell during my stay like a sewer line broke somewhere...Phew! And then on my my last night there I saw lucky enough to ride the elevator up to my room with a large winged crawling insect which I will not name here. Understanding that these things are probably everywhere on King Street and that I saw no other evidence of them anywhere else in the hotel, I'm hoping that was a rarity. But overall I did like the hotel!
- 5/5
All was great! We did not have breakfast there.
- 5/5
Had a great stay very nice hotel
- 5/5
Clean, quiet room. Pleasant staff. Great location.
- 5/5
Excellent staff.

Very nice hotel. It was beautiful and clean. Had a great front desk staff. Good location. Would stay here again.

- 4/5
It was good but not as good as what reviewers say! It was okay. Beds were clean , maintenance was great, but shower water pressure was awful, leaking on the faucet of bathroom, bad smell in elevator and hallways,,, i give 7-8 out of 10 based on price
- 5/5
Great staff!
- 3/5
Odor in hallways and elevator.
- 4/5
Room was fabulous. The front desk were very friendly and efficient. The wait staff in the restaurant and the bar had mixed ups with our orders. Possible language barriers. But all in all a wonderful hotel and I definitely will return.
- 5/5
great location. nice boutique hotel. pizza in their restaurant was excellent.
- 5/5
Nice property. We have a great room. I think it is the biggest room in the hotel with balcony.
- 5/5
Very friendly and helpful staff.
- 5/5
The room was clean, quiet, and they left candies each day and had books available. A nice touch.
- 4/5
Very nice room and beautiful claw foot tub though I didn’t get a chance to enjoy it like I wanted. This hotel would’ve gotten 5 stars if it wasn’t for the following and would’ve gotten lower if it wasn’t for the following. Would’ve gotten 5 stars if the AC unit went below 70 degrees. The thermostat went below 70 but the temperature didn’t drop any. Wanted a chill room as I dozed off but instead I stayed up and down with a lukewarm room. Another issue was the water pressure in the bathroom sink was ridiculously low. The other issue was hearing the delivery driver make a delivery between 6 am and 615 am. Would’ve understood if it was during the week but this was a Saturday morning. Had no plans to get up that early but the noisy delivery truck and unloading woke me up. The hotel would’ve gotten a lower rating if it wasn’t for the young lady that checked me out and asked how was my stay. I shared my experience and she went into action by showing she cared by noting my concerns and offered to make it right. Her positive friendly make it right exceptional customer service attitude is the reason I’ll be goin back and again why the hotel didn’t get a lower rating. Overall I loved the boutique hotel and how it was hidden off the street. The inside of the hotel was nice and clean. The court yard with benches was lovely. Love the shower and tub set up in the room. I hope during my next stay that these issues are fixed.
- 5/5
Clean spacious rooms. Walkable to everything in Old Town
- 5/5
I am a frequent guest for a reason! $25 coupon for your restaurant or bar was a perk this time. Recommended!
- 4/5
Rooms are well appointed, staff is lovely and very helpful The HVAC system in the hotel is older and very noisy—-this is a negative
- 5/5
Excellent!
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 5/5
Smooth check in.
- 5/5
Staff is very friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel. Great location. Excellent services
- 5/5
A great stay with professional friendly staff and all facilities - room, lobby, patio, were top notch - and it’s an ideal location to visit Old Town Alexandria or travel throughout the area due to the walkable distance to the King Street Metro Station. A hotel that provides an excellent guest experience.
- 5/5
Very nice clean rooms
- 5/5
The staff were amazing. Very nice and accommodating. Would definitely come back here again. We had a great trip to the area. I really loved the room, bed was very comfy. We even got a free update which was so nice! The tub and shower was amazing.
- 3/5
Everything is good except the air conditioner is very loud and I couldn’t sleep well. Also the bed is a bit too soft .
- 5/5
A charming, wonderful hotel. Will definitely go back.
- 5/5
Room was clean and included robe, slippers, and an umbrella to use while there. Breakfast/brunch spot was yummy and the dinner/bar was good as well.
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The stay there was so peaceful and relaxing. Thank you so much!
- 5/5
The staff is over the top accommodating. We had an amazing time. Excellent hotel and surrounding area!
- 5/5
I loved how they thought about everything; brunch & breakfast restaurant as well as a bar attached. Valet. Clean and modern room.
- 5/5
We have stayed here multiple times when visiting our son who lives in Alexandria. The hotel is convenient and in a great location. We will continue to make this our home base when visiting the area. Highly recommend.
- 5/5
Clean room and great staff but weird smell in hall and lobby
- 5/5
I love this sweet boutique hotel! I’ve stayed here several times and it’s been a great experience!
- 4/5
We enjoyed our stay at the Archer. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The location within Old Town was ideal. My husband did find the mens room in an undesirable condition however.
- 5/5
Beautiful historic hotel quiet location within an enjoyable walking distance to old town Alexandria. Staff was courteous and professional.
- 5/5
Very friendly front end staff and valet
- 5/5
Excellent
- 5/5
The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean.
- 5/5
My wife and I absolutely love the Archer! We’ve been staying here for years, since it was under the Kimpton corporation and named The Lorien Hotel. The staff is always pleasant and accommodating, the food at their onsite restaurants is always really good and the property as well as the rooms are always clean. We stay a couple of times a year when we need to get away for a few days but don’t have the time to take a longer vacation…as soon as we turn on to King Street, we feel like we’re home. We won’t ever stay anywhere else when we are visiting Old Town Alexandria.
- 5/5
Great hotel in a great location!
- 5/5
Staff was exceptionally friendly and kind.
- 5/5
Greatvstay, beautiful grounds, excellent staff, amazing restaurant, could not have asked for a better room!
- 5/5
Right in the center of Old Town allowed easy walks to restaurants and shopping. We had a great room with a separate den from the bedroom.
- 5/5
Excellent customer service from the front desk; house keeping who ran to bring me my shoes I forgot, to the Valet that filled my water bottle with ice and water before I left! Perfection 👌
- 5/5
I always enjoy staying at the Archer. It’s a lovely boutique hotel in a great area of Alexandria. The staff is always so accommodating.
- 5/5
A lovely place to stay.

This hotel is right on the main street in Old Town Alexandria. It's very walkable. They do offer valet parking, but I was able to find street parking right outside of the hotel, so I did not need it. The hotel felt safe and well-maintained. The restaurant attached to the hotel also has good food.
- 5/5
I travel back and forth to Alexandria for work, usually staying for a week, and this is the best hotel I stayed in so far. I've stayed at a different hotel previously and also stayed at an Bnb on my last trip and was so disappointed that I decided to give this hotel a try. Perfect everything. I will not try anything else in future and will stay at the Archer hotel for all my future business trips. Friendly staff, super clean and spacious room, every detail was taken care of. Perfect walkability to everything you could need.
- 5/5
This is a lovely boutique style property. The room was modern and clean with a balcony overlooking the courtyard. They have a charming restaurant that is decorated beautifully and had a very fresh healthy feel about it. The staff was friendly and professional. I highly recommended.
- 2/5
I did not have a good experience with guest services. I arrived early, was told they'd text me when the room was ready. They never did. My key did not work, was told they would slip a new set under my door during the night of my stay, they never did. Said they'd comp my breakfast to make up for it, but they charged my credit card for it. I would not return.
- 5/5
Location. staff are always very accommodating and friendly. This is our go to place when in Alexandria.
- 5/5
Great hotel
- 5/5
The staff members were accommodating and on the ball. The room was clean and attractive, though a bit on the small side. The was a microwave oven & small fridge in the room. Skimpy on closet and drawer space but provided bath robes & slippers. Water pressure was fine but I would have preferred more oomph.
- 5/5
Love this hotel. Great doggie accommodation with pillow and dog bowls. They have a wonderful restaurant next door that opens early.
- 5/5
The property and staff are outstanding. Very convenient in a safe neighborhood
- 5/5
Nice, clean property with a nice courtyard and easy walking distance to shops and restaurants
- 5/5
Loved the courtyard and the room! Staff wonderful
- 5/5
The room was great! Loved the rainfall, oversized, shower. Very clean. The room service staff tirned over an immaculate room every day. The only drawback was the pillows. They were soft and lacked support, just flattening beneath your head. The staff was always very warm and helpful. Over at the AKB bar, Vanessa was fantastic - very friendly and informative. We would absolutely return!
- 5/5
The Archer Hotel is a great option if you are staying in Old Alexandria.
- 4/5
That being said, we missed not having the option of proper room service on real plates with real cutlery. Some of the rooms had cold a/c (summer trip when 90+) and some the a/c didn't work so well (had to change rooms at first). We had to look at three different rooms when checking in, as some of the rooms had heavy room fragrance (severely allergic) or smell from the rug cleaner.
- 4/5
The room was clean, neat and kept up with . The front desk pushed towards valet parking but it was easy enough to use the meters out front. One thing to remind the cleaning services would be to keep the towels replenished .

- 5/5
Fantastic in every way that matters for a hotel stay!
- 5/5
The staff was uniquely ready to accommodate any requests that I had !
- 5/5
Great staff, clean hotel and close to everything.
- 4/5
Not the best part of King St so access getting in and out of the car at the time of check in and check out is inconvenient due to being a busy road and no in-site parking. Otherwise, a lovely hotel.
- 5/5
Great location. Easy transportation options. The hotel has a little bar and cafe
- 5/5
There was an issue with our room, the staff upgraded us no issue. Very professional and nice.
- 5/5
Wonderful service and gorgeous property.

Liked
- 5/5
Everything was perfect just like the hotel!
- 5/5
This was one of my best travel experiences, ever. The hotel is walkable from the local Amtrak station and nestled on King Street with access to a free trolley (to local shops/eateries and the Potomac waterfront). The hotel's bar/grille and newly-opened HomeGrown breakfast and brunch were phenomenal. The room was large, clean, comfortable and quiet. And the staff was top notch - giving local tips and even helping me celebrate my birthday with a special treat. I will definitely return.
- 5/5
Really nice, fresh, comfortable rooms and in a great location near many old town restaurants and a short commute to DC. Staff is outstanding. Fitness center is outdated and has many inoperable machines but I managed to get in a few workouts. We'd stay here again.
- 5/5
Enjoyed My Stay! Clean & Comfortable!

Great place.

Great property with a great new breakfast place in the lobby.
- 5/5
Nice rooms, the nightly treat was a bonus! Characterful area, totally walkable with lots of dining options. Staff very friendly, always a nice greeting upon returning. No water in the rooms, but they have infused water in the entry.
- 5/5
We had a great stay. The hotel team could not do enough for us, always a smile. It was a great boutique hotel, nice touches throughout. We only wish we had had longer there!
- 5/5
Quaint hotel. Great location. Will be back
- 5/5
Great stay for a quick overnight getaway. Close to everything. Staff was exceptional!
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and helpful!

Splendid experience. Parked on the street after 9 pm.
- 5/5
Beautiful quaint town, great location for nightlife on King St!
- 5/5
We have a great stay and will stay there again when we are in the area. Great hotel and good location.
- 5/5
Such a wonderful stay! Quiet and luxurious right in the heart of Alexandria!
- 5/5
Everyone one of their staff was welcoming - the room was lovely, bed very comfortable.. ❣️😊

Incredible, friendly and professional check-in. Great vibe and very helpful staff. Comfortable ,clean, quiet room, bright bathroom. All in all a pretty perfect hotel stay.
- 5/5
Fantastic, clean high end hotel
- 5/5
Just came in for a night, a place to change and sleep. Nice room and spacious! Love the bathroom!!! Bathroom was large and very modern!!! Great water pressure in the shower!!!!
- 5/5
Place!
- 5/5
Great boutique hotel!
- 5/5
The Staff, the grounds, the hotel room itself!!! Amazing, 10 star Hotel. I felt like I was the only one staying there. My experience was that off a Bed & Breakfast, but in Rhode Island. I literally felt like I was on vacation! Thanks to Mackenzie & Desiree( beautiful young lady with green glasses) my stay was nothing short of tranquil and amazing. I was all smiles from check-in to check-out! ❤️
- 5/5
Wonderful and friendly staff! And a very comfortable room.
- 5/5
Wonderful stay! Staff was superb! Walking distance to so many restaurants, all in all...10/10!!
- 5/5
Experience was really nice… amenities great. Front desk was so nice the garden is gorgeous. Slippers were a nice extra! Loved it
- 5/5
What a place. If you're in the DC metro area you need to stay here to unwind. It's perfect!
- 5/5
Newer hotel with stylish clean look and friendly staff.
- 4/5
All rooms with a King should have 2 night stands. The TV is very outdated. Smart tvs are much better or some premium channels should be provided.
- 5/5
Comfortable room and convenient area.
- 3/5
The staff was friendly and it was a nice location but the AC was so noisy we could barely sleep and the bathroom had no fan and the door kept sticking I don’t know that we would go back
- 5/5
Great location
- 3/5
For the price, there should be more amenities. An additional $25/day per person for breakfast and $40/day parking is ridiculous. And no kitchen in the suite…
- 5/5
Great smaller hotel that is a balance of modern and traditional. Trolley stop right in front and tons of restaurants. Feels more local and less touristy than buzzy waterfront. Though super easy to get to waterfront for dinner. Staff friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
- 5/5
Amazing stay!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
It rained during my stay and the property offered umbrellas to all guests as they left for the day....that was surprising and very impressive. The staff shared information about guests specific needs which were addressed on each shift...i felt like they were interested in me not just my stay.
- 5/5
convenient walking and the rooms are comfortable.
- 5/5
Well situated near Old Town Alexandria. Loved our suite with large patio and multiple community outdoor spaces at the hotel. Would definitely stay again!
- 5/5
Great!
- 5/5
Great property -wonderful bed and very clean. The only issue is the loud air conditioner
- 5/5
While there were a few minor issues—like a handful of fruit flies in our room the first night and an old face cloth left on top of the shower—these didn’t detract from the overall experience and definitely won’t keep me from returning next time we’re in town. I would have appreciated daily housekeeping during our two-night stay, but I didn’t ask if that was offered. The outdoor seating area at the front of the hotel was a perfect spot to unwind with a drink after a long, hot day exploring DC. Another big plus was the availability of street parking, which saved us a lot compared to typical hotel rates. Since we arrived on a Saturday morning, we only had to pay the meter for one hour, and then again Monday morning before checkout. On top of all that, the staff were incredibly friendly, the complimentary morning coffee in the lobby and even the Advil kindly provided by the front desk were thoughtful touches, and the air conditioning in the room was absolutely fantastic. I would absolutely recommend the Archer Hotel to anyone visiting the area!
- 5/5
Everything was very nice. Would definitely stay there again.
- 5/5
My stay here, was an Amazing stay. Very hospitable Staff. Convenient location. Free public Trolly made getting around and seeing the Hustorical Sites, very easy and enjoyable. I truly recommend this Hotel to anyone that's looking to relax and enjoy the Historic, and Beautiful Atmosphere of Oldtown Alexandria Va's natural Elegance.
- 5/5
Very nice and the staff has been amazing
- 5/5
What a gem!! Great place to stay in the heart of Old Town. We will definitely stay there again!!!
- 5/5
Beautiful, clean hotel in a lovely area. Staff were wonderful. Would definitely stay there again.
- 4/5
It was a really nice hotel with a great welcome for my dog. There was a dog bed, bowls, pee pad, treats, poop bag and lint remover. The fee is $150 for my pet and it’s not refundable. That may sway others. It was a nice quiet stay with plenty of places in walking distance.
- 5/5
This was a perfect option for me and my girlfriend!
- 5/5
Very good bed. Good location
- 5/5
Overall a great stay: Lovely room and great location
- 5/5
Staff were friendly, very attentive and beyond accommodating. The wonderful staff recommended great places to eat and drink, the restaurant/bar was lovely and the food is good. Will 100% stay here again.
- 5/5
Nice place to stay, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.
- 5/5
Very helpful, great stay

Beautiful hotel, walkable area. Safe. Nice amenities. Very clean. Would definitely recommend!
