I recently stayed at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center Hotel, and while we arrived right on time for check-in, we were disappointed to find our room wasn't ready. Unfortunately, the customer representative we interacted with wasn't very helpful or friendly. She simply told us we would need to wait or consider getting a different room at another hotel. This lack of assistance was frustrating, especially after a long journey. I hope the staff can improve their customer service in the future, as it could really make a difference for guests.
- 1/5
When I expressed how uncomfortable the interaction felt, her only response was, “I’m just doing my job.” I completely understand that hotels have policies, but there are many ways to communicate them respectfully and courteously. Her tone was cold, rude, and condescending, almost as if the customer were too unintelligent to understand. On top of that, the hotel itself feels very old. The carpets have an unpleasant smell, and if you have allergies, I honestly would not recommend staying here. A truly disappointing experience overall.

The room had dirty sheets, the restroom had a leaky sink and toilet, the floor was not vacuumed properly and missing amenities. The room also smelled stale and moldy. Once I stepped outside of my room, there are 30 chairs stacked along the walls. This did not seem like the Hilton but Motel 6. This Hilton charges $35 a night for parking on top of the $200 a night that you must pay, you must wait a few minutes in order for staff to allow you to leave since the gate control was not working.
- 4/5
Pool looked closed at the time I was there but overall a great stay and easy use of public transportation
- 1/5
I requested a room change, and although the staff accommodated me, the second room had the exact same issue. I also have pictures for reference. This level of cleanliness is unacceptable, especially from a Hilton property. As a Hilton Honors member (Member ID ending in 7512), I expected a much higher standard of cleanliness and guest care. I hope management takes this issue seriously to ensure future guests do not have the same experience.

The property was nice inside. The garage room key to gain access did not work and we had to wait for someone to let us in and out which was an inconvenience. Parking was $35 per night and did not run smoothly for that price.

That it had a restaurant on site and the food was good The pool was advertised as an indoor facility, yet it was not available during our stay, which coincided with Memorial Day weekend. You mentioned it was seasonal, but that raises the question of why an indoor pool would have such limitations. Additionally, we experienced a constant drip from the tub throughout our visit, which was quite bothersome. To make matters worse, we lost our car keys and spent an hour searching for them. When we called the front desk for assistance, the staff member on duty seemed indifferent and never bothered to check on our situation, despite being present the whole time. Overall, our experience at this hotel was disappointing.

Rooms are very spacious and comfotable. The hotel itself needs some updating. Also the breakfast buffet was over priced for what you get. But, overall a great stay.

We stayed here for one night before an event at the Gaylord. Very nice room, walking distance to shops and restaurants. Easy check-in and check-out.

Bed was good, comfortable and clean. The room and the bathroom were outdated. The room was not cleaned properly. We found dog’s hair on the carpet and human hair in the bathroom. Bathroom fan did not work. The hotel hall was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was good but it could be better for the price.

The lobby was great, and the public restrooms downstairs were very nice. For a Hilton, I guess my expectations were a bit higher than what I experienced. The bed was very comfortable but the rest was very much the equivalent of a motel 6. The bathroom was very small and compact, and the ceiling in the shower was cracked and on the verge of caving in. The water pressure was very low as well. The TV was very outdated and only had 60 channels. Places like the Hampton Inn at least give you the option to log into your streaming services. Overall, I feel like I did not get my moneys worth and will most likely not book with a Hilton again in the future.

Needs improvement: parking deck (back of property) entry/exit was broken, so the room key never worked in or out. Had it re-keyed, still didn't work. Escalator going to lower floor was turned off during a certain hour - maybe after 7p? (no sign, no idea when that time was - just not on). This was impactful because there were at least 3 large school groups of kids that often took over the elevators. One of the vending machines downstairs was broken - I'm diabetic & arrived 10:30 pm & with everything in the lobby closed, needed immediate food. There were other machine's but the one machine had items that were of preference.
- 3/5
This was such a bad experience. First, they charge me for my room at check in even though I paid in full when I made the reservation. Secondly, I thought breakfast was included but was informed it wasn't (not sure if I misread that). Third, I chose this place specifically for the pool just to find out they won't open it until Memorial Day weekend. I was so disappointed since my five-year-old was looking forward to some indoor pool time. Aside from that the front desk was not helpful and rude when trying to solve a parking situation. I paid for daily parking passes that were not working. The room service actually had my boys outside the room to clean it up when they were supposed to be getting ready for a 12 pm event. Overall, one of the worst experiences by Hilton.
- 1/5
My flight was cancelled, wasn’t able to go. The hotel had someone use my reservation and didn’t refund me. Not a place I can trust. Won’t recommend.

Room service only cleaned the bathroom, and the used towels were not collected. When I returned, the bed was still unmade. The DND card was also missing, and although we requested a replacement, it was never provided. Additionally, the parking entrance panel and reservation page both list the rate as $33 for 24 hours, but I was charged $38.10 instead.

Despite this, I chose not to complain that night. I was only staying one night and tried to let it go. Then came the billing issue. At check-in, I was told there would be a $50 hold, and that $35 for parking would come out of that hold, with the remainder returned after checkout. Straightforward. The next morning, I discovered: A $50 hold PLUS an additional $37.10 hold That’s $87.10 held, not the $50 I was clearly told. When I asked about it, the morning front desk associate refused to explain and told me to speak to a manager. The manager was dismissive and simply said, “It’s just a hold for parking, it will fall off.” As a General Manager myself, I can tell you this is not about the hold—it’s about transparency. Guests should be told upfront that parking charges may be processed as separate holds and can be reapplied depending on entry and exit. That was never explained. It gets worse. Two days later, I see ANOTHER pending charge of $87.10. AThat’s $174+ in pending charges, on top of the ~$140 I paid for a dirty, unsafe room. I called again and was told, “It’s all just a hold and will fall off.” It has now been 6 days, and only part of it has been released. The rest is still si

I only stayed at the hotel for one night for an event being held there. Upon check-in, I requested a water bottle and was told I needed to be a Hilton Honors member to receive one (even though I am a Hilton Honors member), so that was the first slight. Once I got to the room, the TV stand had a film of dust covering it. If I had a white glove and ran my finger over it, the glove would have been covered. The room had a faint odor, which made me wonder if it had once been a smoking room. And then, when I went to shower, I realized there was no towel on the floor to catch any water afterward. The bathroom was missing fresh towels, and there was a leftover pink pajama top on the back of the bathroom door. I shared this issue with the front desk, and while they offered an apology, there was no offer of additional towels, housekeeping to come and clean, or a new room. I will not be staying here again. The cleanliness of the room could be better overall.

- 3/5
The parking at this location is horrible. They charge you $35 then put up signs that you’re parking at your own risk. The spots are small and way too small for even midsized cars.
- 3/5
The room was too cool and I could not change the temperature. The hotels does not have a microwave which was highly inconvenient. I was on the 25th floor and had to the bottom floor to use the communal microwaves. The parking lot was not attached to an elevator. So I had to walk with my luggage up two flights of steps and down a long hallway before getting to an elevator. I am glad I was able to walk. What would happen if someone was disabled? I would NOT stay there again.

The hotel itself is great, nice staff, great bartender in the lobby (Kim) clean and nice rooms good house keeping, only issue is the restaurant, marketplace and breakfast are very expensive, like ridiculously so, I suppose that's to be expected but man!

The staff members are very kind, professional. They booked me in perfect room, honoring my request. The room was clean and comfortable. I needed to take a trip within a trip and they stored my heaviest/largest piece of luggage so I could travel light for the weekend. There was an issue with the hot water. They were grateful that I reported it. I’ve stayed here many times and they always go above and beyond to correct any issues reported.

Breakfast was not included. Room was not replaced with coffee and creamer. Damage and mold in bathroom. Hair conditioner was empty. We were shell shocked for the charge of parking when Hotelcom said the price was the total amount that we would pay. We had to pay an additional $70.00 for parking at the hotel. No mention of parking fees in the hotel.com add. Trying to get into the parking lot and out was a complete nuisance, had to sit there for over 10 min waiting to be let in and out. The hotel card should have worked for entrance and exit. Apparently no one’s did as we sat and listened to the ring until someone answered for each car . 7.50 for a can of beer at the lil mini mart in the hotel. I could understand that price if we were sitting at the bar and being served. Price gouging at its finest. We picked this hotel to be near a relative who was in the hospital .
- 3/5
There was very little staff at the hotel. Moving luggage to the room was very cumbersome. The luggage cart was heavy and didn't roll well and the threshold on the elevator and room made it hard to get the cart over. The TVs in the room are terrible. They don't have streaming apps nor the ability to cast to the TV. We watched TV on a laptop on the bed. On the positive side the room was big and clean and the bed comfortable.
- 5/5
I liked everything
- 4/5
I used a public bathroom in the hotel two different times and the floors were filthy. My room was ok, they left half on one roll and almost out on the other. My hand should not touch nast toilet paper of someone else using my room. The drain to the tin was backing up which is very gross to me. The wood around the sink was dusty. I stayed at your Hilton because I needed major surgery and was hoping for at minimum the feeling it would be clean for my safety. I will never spend another time ever again at your hotel. My mom is over 80 and I was hoping that expectation of cleanliness would be good for her too,

It was ok. The towels had lipstick on them, there was no shower gel in the pump, the parking was not advertised at $33 a night, the restaurant wait staff ignored us so we ordered at the bar and returned to our table, the gate in the parking garage doesn’t work so you have to call for assistance to enter or leave, which causes a huge back up at check out time. Beautiful hotel. Friendly front desk staff.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Alexandria Mark Center in Washington, D.C., from October 31 to November 4. As a longtime Hilton guest, I’ve always appreciated the brand’s consistency in service, cleanliness, and comfort—and I want to begin by acknowledging the wonderful staff at this location. Their professionalism, warmth, and willingness to assist my family truly reflected Hilton’s values of hospitality and care. However, during our stay, we encountered a few challenges that I believe merit your attention. The water in our room took an unusually long time to heat and, after maintenance visited, it fluctuated between hot and cold during showers. The thermostat also did not maintain a steady cool temperature overnight, causing the room to become quite warm. Additionally, in the fitness center, the yoga mats appeared very worn and could use replacement. I also noticed that the lower lobby and workout areas could benefit from more consistent dusting and upkeep. These issues did not overshadow the kindness of your staff, but they did highlight that this otherwise lovely property might benefit from some modern updates and facility refreshes. With Hilton’s strong reputation for excellence, I believe that investing in small improvements like these will preserve the high standards guests have come to expect. Thank you for taking the time to review my feedback. I share this not as a complaint but as a loyal guest who values Hilton’s le

We were given a hard time at check in due to booking thru third party and my name didn’t match my id and reservation. We were belittled when she simply could have asked for my email which did match. The lady checking us in made us feel stupid and unwelcome.

Friendly staff , clean rooms.

The parking lot machine needs serious upgrading. The machine wasnt working with my key card. The front desk didn't barely answer the call box. It took 5 minutes to get out the gate because no one picked up. I had to call the hotel for someone to come out. Eventually we had to use the other side to get out. Thats just unacceptable especially when you have to pay to get in and out the lot.
- 5/5
The property was fine and staff was very helpful. Expedia itself was the problem. My paid reservation never got sent to the hotel itself, and I waited an hour at the front desk while Expedia slowly fixed my (already paid for) reservation. Clean, beautiful with exceptional staff and the food was simply amazing. Will stay again and again. Loved it!
- 4/5
Room was very nice, comfortable bad, very cousy, beautiful view out of windows, nice bath tub, stuff was friendly and helpful. Was surprised that it has not had microwave in a room ( they had some in lobby, but not in room, swimming pool was closed already for a season.
- 1/5
Dirty, overpriced, breakfast was lukewarm, plates dirty, silverware dirty, cups dirty. Too many fees for lackluster service and amenities. Gym was dirty. Just overall unpleasant. Keys did not work leaving and entering garage (which we pad extra for). Room had a weird smell. Bed sheets, you guessed it- dirty. Avoid this place!
- 3/5
The bathtub was clogged and the shower curtain in the room smelled bad, smells like the curtain was dunk in dirty mop water, the sushi bar was amazing, the best sushi I've had, but the dinner is was pricey for meals that was unseasoned, I should've stuck with the sushi. the pool was clean, the parking was convenient and the area was nice around the hotel.
- 4/5
A little unresponsive on answering parking deck intercom.

Liked the gym, and friendliness off the staff

Clean. Just 20 minutes from DC and 15 minutes from Old Town. Located directly across from Mark Center.Across the street from mark center.

The property was nice but some a**hole kept smoking in their room and kept setting off the alarm. How annoying!!!
- 5/5
Fabulous
- 5/5
Hotel was great with a great market in the lobby
- 5/5
Amazing location, clean and spacious. Great staff. Easy and ample parking. Good food options on site.

Negatives: I stayed at the hotel for three days and nights, but never got any maid service. My trash started to get smelly and fruit flies were flying in the room. I ran out of coffee and facial tissue paper. I called the frontdesk and asked for the items mentioned. they told me that because of shortage of cleaning staff, they do not service every room everyday, only if the guest would request a maid would check on the room. A maid did go to my room and empties the trash but tissue papers and coffee were not refilled.

This is a very property for a in the break.
- 5/5
Great property!
- 3/5
The rooms are dated. My room was very very dusty. And unckean. There was literal dust on the walls. Night stand very dirty. Carpet looked unvaccumed and dusty.
- 2/5
After I presented proof of my paid reservation and was checked in, the front desk clerk waited until we were settled in the room, then charged my debit card without my authorization or knowledge 2 more times. I received a text that they couldn't find proof that I had prepaid for my room, so they took it upon themselves to use the card I oaid for my parking with to charge 2 more times for the room. I showed and emailed her my reservation and receipt, after which she said she saw it un the system and would reverse the charges. This did not happen, I was informed at checkout that I had to speak with a manager after 3pm because they were not in a position to make the decision as to whether or not to reverse the charges. My account was put in a negative for the duration of my stay and WE LITERALLY HAD NO MONEY FOR FOOD OR ENTERTAINMENT! This was the purpose of the trip in the first place.

Had a really great experience staying at the Hilton! The staff was welcoming and helpful, the room was spotless, and the view was absolutely perfect. Would definitely stay again!

Quick check in, great location, stunning hotel. Would recommend over & over again!
- 5/5
Sonia is so professional. She helped us a lot
- 5/5
Kind of strange that there is no handicap paring in the garage and no entrance without stairs form the garage. I saw people struggling with a stroller. Also $33 a night is too high.

Staff was great.
- 4/5
Staff at the front desk was excellent.
- 2/5
The people there were kind, but the room was wet, hot and cold all at the same time. The parking garage was a nightmare. We saw people damaging their cars because of how tight the turn into the garage was and the gate sometimes didn’t work at all so there were cars piled up just waiting trying to help figure it out so we could all get out of the garage. No employee was there to help and there was no way to call for assistance. Plus we had to pay for the horrible parking, it was $33/night. The garage was not conveniently located to the elevators so you have to walk through all of the conference centers just to get to the elevators.
- 2/5
I was there for an event for an organization I belong to. At the banquet, the glasses were extremely dusty, and the silverware was dirty. I don't know why the setup staff would even put the items on the table the way that they looked. Also, at one point, we waited 45 minutes for an elevator to come to the lobby to get to our room. Some staff were extremely helpful, and a few made it known that they were disgusted that our group was there. The ice machines were broken or leaking on nearly EVERY floor. The hotel has 30 floors, with only 3 working ice machines was horrendous. I would never recommend this hotel.
- 1/5
Parking was very expensive
- 4/5
All went well
- 1/5
2 elevators not working the whole weekend while. Large convention was happening
- 1/5
It is inexcusable for a hotel the size of the Mark Center Hilton to only have 4 elevators in the entire hotel. During my stay from 18-20 July 2025, I had to wait over an hour to catch the elevator. Three elevators were operational the first night of my stay and the next day only two were operational and the same thing when I was checking out. The hotel was packed with multiple events. I am a disabled veteran, and the stairs were not an option for me, so I had to wait and was really inconvenienced.

Decent hotel, service was not the greatest. My room was missing soap, some towels, shampoo, and other necessities. Had to request more than once. Eventually went to front desk to retrieve. The parking was charged daily, however the parking gate malfunctioning the entire stay made it difficult to get in and out.

Clean and friendly environment
- 5/5
I had a great view from the top floor!
- 5/5
Good customers services
- 5/5
Very beautiful hotel nice staff had zero issues. Room was amazing and the hotel itself was quite and relaxing.
- 3/5
The rooms and main lobby were very nice. The pool is very small and outdated. The elevators are extremely slow! They have 4 and it wasn’t busy the weekend my family went but took over 5 min to get an elevator each time
- 5/5
No in room dining. Not very accommodating.
- 3/5
No ice no microwave
- 4/5
Everything good
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Lots to do near by and in the hotel too. Friendly and helpful staff.
- 3/5
Plumbing in bathroom was substandard, tub was clogged and toilet clogged up
- 3/5
The view is great but I can see hairs in the carpet, glasses still have watermarks, no bottle water in the room (I called and asked and they said they can provide only if you ask - maybe a new rule in the US or for Hilton). Overall it is still good, I wouldn’t complain much as I did during my stay and they have actively provided me solutions. It was a business trip and the location was very convenient for me - public transportation near the hotel that can take you close to Washington DC. I most likely won’t go back again but it is a ok place if you have your conference held close by and you need to live in there.
- 5/5
It was a wonderful place; however we were on the 8th floor and the elevators were down for a few hours.
- 1/5
Pool it was not clean doesn’t have in Tv youtube or netflix this hilton its really very old school very bad service for that charge .
- 5/5
I love coming to the Mark Center whenever I come to Alexandria. However, the front desk people are not very nice, a couple of them have an attitude problem.
- 5/5
Hotel was nice and in a perfect location to get around. Staff was attentive and friendly. Great bargain!

All was ok - restaurant was closed that was bad for us, even though the “food” was offered that wasn’t the experience we wanted. Everything was fine.
- 2/5
Horrible customer service, cash and card stolen from room
- 5/5
Great location and the staff was amazing
- 5/5
Good customer service
- 5/5
I always enjoy staying here. The front desk can sometimes seem distant but overall and amazing experience whenever I visit.
- 5/5
Close to DC only 20 minutes away
- 1/5
My room had ants in it. I requested service for them to clean the room while I was out all day. When I returned at 5:00 PM, it was not cleaned. I requested cleaning again and they sent maintenance who spray a room full of Raid. I left for 3 hrs for them to clean the room and when I got back, it was still not cleaned . I asked for a manager several times and was given excuses why one was not available and that one would call me. At 10:00, the front desk called to see if I still wanted my room cleaned. I had an early flight out the next morning, so this was pointless. No manager has called me yet today. This was the worst Hilton experience I ever had. I will never stay at this hotel again. It was a waste of my money!!!

Niceb
- 4/5
The rooms weren't in the best conditions. The pool wasn't open. There was no microwave in the room. The mini fridge froze everything. The bathroom lighting is insufficient for any kind of facial hair or makeup maintenance. Those things were easily made up for with the impeccable service from every staff member we encountered. 5 stars for their staff.
- 2/5
The bathroom in the room was not clean. There were hairs in the shower and dirt on the wall. The balcony was completely covered in bird poop where you couldn’t step outside. The elevator panels were loose. The indoor pool was closed along with the outdoor because they’re both seasonal and at my time of booking, this was not stated on Expedia or the hotels website.
- 3/5
I would have given this place a 4 or 5 star review, but shortly after I checked in the power went out in the whole hotel (only the elevators and hallway lights worked). The water also shut off during the power outage. I know it was out of the staffs hands because there was an issue with the transformer, but I was just wondering if they had a backup generator for the building. I just wanted to take a shower after a 5 hour flight, and couldn’t do it until the next morning.
- 5/5
This is my 3rd time staying at this hotel and they’re great
- 5/5
Check in was very easy, front desk helpful and friendly. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom. Plenty of things to do in the area. I will be staying here again.
- 4/5
Everything was great, but you need microwaves in the room big disappointment no microwave

What
- 5/5
Liked the hotel. Room was nice and food was good. The gym is not good and the pool is closed. Good for a place to spend the night if you have to but would not recommend for vacationing.
- 1/5
Bet of the service
- 5/5
They didn’t allow me a refund for other room booking which we didn’t occupy even after requesting that it was an emergency cancellation of flight in India because of geopolitical situation.
- 1/5
They never answer the phone The elevators was terrible
- 3/5
This property is dated but very spacious. It looks like it use to be a prwmier establishment in 2000. So the positive all the elevators work. The staff was friendly at check-in and the cleaning staff can tuck a sheet like no other. The sad thing attention to detail is lacking in the room inspections or standards. There were spots all over the wall. The sink was severely chipped, the blankets had sporadic lumps like balled up toilet paper or dried out cotton balls. It was a little disturbing. The 1st night the room was muggy. But on another positive side they text you to see how your stay is going and when I told them they were prompt and fixed the air conditioning. The shower fixtures were also very loose but the water was hot. My last two minor inconveniences were although the rooms dont have microwaves they had them on the property for the public to use I just wish it was in the Lobby and the area was monitored for cleanliness like their market. Lastly my friend's small wallet and housekey were left in the room and most hotels will certify mail items to you for a fee but we were told this was not possible. I know that we were lucky it so there's that. So to end on a positive note. The hotel was quite and a 11 minutes from the Airport.

We stood for two nights, and the day we checked out (3rd day), is the day we noticed we had a fridge in the room lol unbelievable. They placed the fridge inside of the dresser. Really?! Why? I thought there was no fridge because the listing also stated online, that the rooms would have a sofa bed and we did not. That was a bit of a disappointment. We found two hairs in the shower which is gross, and the curtains let out a lot of water on the floor. The bathroom did not have an extractor so all the humidity stood in the bathroom, causing the fire alarm to go off. We called the front desk and they sent someone to check it promptly, but all the man did was tell us to close the door when showering haha. We were told the day of, that parking would be $33 per night for parking, which by the way, is “park at your own risk.” Have a card ready as they take a $100 deposit the day you check in. On a positive note, the beds were very comfy and the comforters were heaven! We slept like babies! Would we stay here again? I don’t think so.
- 5/5
Room was large and well appointed. Overnight parking fee of $33 was a surprise.
- 2/5
Staff were not friendly, seemed to be bothered by questions, only one elevator was working, room was dimmed and dark, in totality not what I expected from Hilton . Very disappointed.
- 5/5
Very beautiful. Would come again
- 4/5
no fridge in room
- 3/5
I had issue with one staff member. Mario is not consistent in his customer service. I was unable to be served for breakfast due to him doing what he feels in the moment. I left my personal belongings and staff damaged my property. Also signage for breakfast should be included and you should be well informed in advanced that you have to pay additional fees. It's a standard powdered egg and frozen sausage breakfast and should not have an additional cost. I do want to thank the hospitality representative that checked me in. She was the reason for the high review for staff. Otherwise staff members were dismissive, inattentive and damaged my property.
- 4/5
Better bar option. Schedule/Times open
- 3/5
It was nice . A little overpriced.
- 4/5
Not functioning indoor swimming pool was one of the frustration. Needs improvement is cleaning.
- 5/5
Very good Staff..very friendly and knowledgeable
- 5/5
Elevators and rooms need a little upgrade. Bathroom was a little dark.
- 1/5
Unprofessional staff. Cleaning came in at 7am, 4 hours before the check in, no bags in the trash bins.
- 1/5
Remote control in room did not work, Wi-Fi did not work, had to use my hotspot to watch Tv. Bathroom lacked almost every amenity, I just know personally this isn’t one of the good Hiltons and I will not be returning.
- 5/5
The hotel was really nice, 20 mins from old town Alexandria VA, nice area
- 2/5
My room had bloody glass fragments sticking to the ceiling—I had never seen anything like this before. The front desk staff showed zero interest in helping me resolve the most uncomplicated issues. It's disheartening to see the Hilton name associated with this kind of property.
- 3/5
It was a neat stay
- 3/5
For the amount the hotel charges its guests, they also charge extra $33 for the parking but said fact is never mentioned anywhere. The guests are not offered any water in the rooms. Nickel-and-diming of your guests is never a great strategy.
- 3/5
Location and parking is good. Room in bad condition, sink crack etc.
- 5/5
The staff are very kind.
- 5/5
Nice room with good bed. There are very few places to go without a car. The hotel is located very close to a city bus terminal. The breakfast is nice but spendy ($24).
