We love this little hotel-we love the area, but this trip tho the hotel was not full at all it seemed a bit careworn. The towels are dinky and frayed, the dispensers in the bathroom squirt everywhere. We were tired this trip but it just felt a little 'in fresh'.

Traveling from California and expected that Texan hospitality but it was just not there. We arrived pretty late but paid prior to arrival. I did not have my card and it was required... that I understood but the way he said it was extremely unprofessional. When leaving I couldn't find anyone to check out until I yelled out, "hello..." the maid service wasn't friendly at all! They didn't say a word to me or my children who all said good morning. Just odd customer service IMO

The room size was nice ( king suite ) One one person at front, they were some what helpful. Arrived in the evening. Busy, only one person at front. Parking was horrible, very congested location.If you have to park away, can be a sketchy neighborhood.Texas Roadhouse literally inches away as well as other businesses. All sharing the same area. The room was a decent size. However, it was not clean. It had a mildew smell. All the light switches were dirty. I always bring lysol wipes......thank goodness. If I had the time, I would have changed to another Hotel, spent less then a couple of hours. I thought very expensive, Holiday Inn Suites could do a better job, very unfortunate.

By far...the BEST...COFFEE!! I have never been to a better hotel coffee station where the beans are ground for each cup...Amazingly they have TWO!! Breakfast was otherwise better than similar Holiday Inn Express Hotels. Great place!! The room was great and the whole establishment is very well maintained.

I have used this facility for several years when I travel to Texas. The rooms have always been very clean and comfortable I wish I could have spoken to a desk clerk when I left. But the desk was vacant and I didn’t have time to wait due to a family emergency

Great Breakfast solutions Nice pool and hot tub

We were kept awake from 1:30am to 4:30am by people (probably meth heads) in the next room. Blaring music, slamming doors, banging around and running in the hall. The front desk asked them to keep it down, so they turned up the volume on their music. Front desk then said there was nothing else they could do. Umm… throw them out? Call the police? People at the other end of the floor even heard them. I’ve never called a front desk to complain about noise before… it was that bad.

Rooms were clean,friendly staff,good breakfast and safe area to stay .We also stayed on the return trip home!

There were ants in our restroom (rm. 103). I did let the front desk know. There were some cracks in the wall near the floor and the ants were coming through these.

I really enjoyed how close our room was to the exit since we were traveling with our dog and child. The A/C worked great. I loved that we could walk to restaurants. There was an ant infestation in the pool area and our shower/tub did not drain properly. Those were the only downsides. Overall, I would recommend the stay here.

It was unfortunate that the staff would not address the pot smoking on our floor. The floor outside of our room reeked of pot. Since the hotel has a policy of no smoking, I was very disappointed they would not address the issue.

The breakfast at this hotel was EXCELLENT. The eggs and bacon were perfect, and the coffee was freshly ground. Wow!

We all love pets, they’re wonderful, but this hotel went too far. I felt like I was in a hotel for pets rather than for people. The room smells dogs hair. The bed sheets was with a dog paw print over it.

We were there for about 20 minutes total and tried 2 different rooms. When we were taking bags into the first room a guy was peeing by his truck door. The rooms shower didn’t drain there was hair all in the tub with bugs in the floor. We tried a 2nd room that was not much cleaner, had a plastic bag over the smoke detector and smelled of weed. Thankfully Hotels.com called and had my reservation credited back to my account. It was a cheap and I wasn’t expecting anything fancy but clean and functional is not too much to ask.

Room was in good condition over all, it was clean, but the tub drained very slowly and the sink in the little bar area didn't work. Nothing came out of it at all. Breakfast was decent, no complaints. Good experience overall, just some things that need attention.

The room and hotel is great, the problem is the AC , the unit is so noisy you can barely sleep!

The branded IHG HIEx is what we came for, and certainly much is intact (breakfast, comfort, amenities); however, we were surprised to see the age of the property, the rough surroundings like landscape, etc. Reflects how over time this neighborhood has declined. But...the price brought us in, but we will probably look for another location, sadly. HIE is a good brand, but this place could use help. Oh, and one more thing, when people enter or leave their rooms the doors close, no, slam shut so loudly. Not good for sleeping.

We were quite impressed with the Handicap Accessible room given us, especially the shower with multi functional spray and sturdy built in bench. When no handicap parking was available because all slots were taken, they allowed us to park in the carport. Located right next to Texas Roadhouse and a gas station, where we also had great experiences. Texas hospitality is real Yall. It was refreshing after a long day of travel.

After driving for 11 hours, when we arrived to the hotel in Amarillo, TX in the late evening hours, check-in was a breeze. The hotel staff were friendly and professional. This particular hotel welcomed pets. We had our small Frenchie traveling with us. We appreciate hotel's that include a pet policy as there are times when our Frenchie has to travel with us. The room and bathroom were super clean. The continental breakfast was very good. We'll definately stay at this particular hotel for future travels. In fact, we'll stay at other Holiday Inn Express & Suites by IHG in other cities/states for future travels. Overall, our experience was excellent.

Great overnight stay. My daughter enjoyed the pool, and it was nice to have it heated. The rooms were clean and renovated recently. No issues at all.

The hotel parking lot is overwhelmed by restaurant patrons, leaving actual guests with no choice but to park behind the building or elsewhere. Unfortunately, the hotel hasn't taken steps to resolve the issue. Staff at the front desk acknowledged the problem but simply stated it would clear up by 11 PM. To make matters worse, there were no luggage carts available. Only book here if you're fine hauling your bags across the property.

Clean and quiet; easy checkin

Jocelyn at the Front Desk is amazing. She’s such a positive and uplifting person. I watched her with other guests as she treated each and everyone with so much care. She was so patient with the older guests who needed extra attention and help. People like Jocelyn are such an important part of any businesses leading by example with care and motivation to staff and guests. I’ll be recommending this hotel to others and be staying her again.

Desk clerk was great!

Cons: the beds were very firm. The walls were thin so we could hear every door slam, the neighbors TV and people walking above us. Made it hard to sleep. The breakfast was subpar. The pancake machine was broken and they were out of a lot of things by 8:30. Overall, a good place to stay if a firm bed doesn't bother you.

We also have two pups with us and she was so sweet and accommodating to them. She told me some personal stories with her own rescue pups. This woman is a gem and makes this hotel 1000% better. If you’re coming to Amarillo, this is a place to stay. It was clean, convenient and walking distance to some great restaurants. But the staff, especially Kara gives that human touch that most hotels don’t!

I would recommend this IHG highly. Employees were friendly, property was clean, and breakfast was one of the best I’ve been to in a hotel.

Great location just off of Georgia St. walking distance to several restaurants. We were passing through Amarillo on a cross country trip and stopped for the night. I’d stay here again.

Best hotel breakfast ever. Very clean rooms and property. Very helpful staff.

At check-in, the first words out of the desk clerk's mouth were, "I see you booked with a third-party app." My experience has taught me that this won't be in my favor and I'll likely be assigned a lesser quality room. Sure enough, the bathroom door handle was broken and wouldn't lock, the tub drain was mostly clogged, and the tub faucet came off in my hand.

Very nice hotel but we ran into some challenges. Loved the pool and hot tub area, very nice! Also enjoyed the hot breakfast options. Main issues was that there was never anyone standing at the front desk so it took a while each time we needed something (checking in, keys stopped working the second day, ect). There was also a lot of construction going on which I understand, just wish it wasn’t during the breakfast time (very loud screeching noise on the main floor right where you eat) and before check out the last morning it sounded like someone was pounding together furniture above our room with extremely loud knocking 😅. Basically if you come when they’re not doing construction you’ll probably be fine just be prepared to wait at the front desk! Hopefully the hotel can try to arrange construction while most guests are out for the day instead of in the mornings.

Bed was hard. Pillows were hard. Walls are thin. Could hear everyone coming and going. Could hear dogs barking from other rooms. Freeway noise was terrible too. Not a great experience. Couldn’t sleep. Finally asleep at 2:30 am. Breakfast was okay. Proximity to dining options was great.

We arrived at 11:00 pm. The employee tending the front desk walked out, made eye contact with my wife and son with all their luggage, put her sign up that said “if nobody is present at the front desk, please wait a moment. We’ll be with you very shortly.” Then without saying a word, she just disappeared into the back. We waited a moment (kind of in shock). I knocked on the front desk. I called back to the back “hello?” Another woman was waiting with us and we were thinking…it is way too late at night for this garbage…your break can wait or whatever we’re waiting on. Finally, i called the front desk from my cell phone and let it ring until she surfaced to answer it. She came out and i hung up…i probably should have put it on speaker phone so she would know it was me that called. At any rate, she checked us in with no further eye contact or apology for the wait or anything. I’ve waited 20 years to have a bad experience at a holiday inn express. Congrats…this was the first.

Manager called me day of reservation to confirm room. I arrived on property to discover my room had been given to someone else. I was informed they tried to call me but had the wrong number. I told them the manager just called me earlier that day... and left a voice message that i let them see. How could they have the wrong number? They said , "sorry for the mixup, we cant help you." The man working the front desk was very rude and i just left.

The rooms are in need of upgraded aesthetic and furnishings, using softer colors. The white window shade had several stains, appearing dirty, but overall cleanliness was acceptable. Nothing special about this place, just your average hotel for the price, but they did have adequate parking for 15' moving truck and another vehicle.

Property was nice enough, but room was next to laundry and was loud. Also, a lot of guests being noisy and roaming the halls all night. I was packing my truck early in the morning to leave and some guy pulled up in a car and was begging for money. Sketchy.
