Reviews
The hotel reviews indicate a high level of satisfaction with cleanliness, comfort, and friendly staff. Guests frequently mention the convenience of the location and the quality of the beds. However, some guests have noted issues with road noise and breakfast availability.
- Clean and comfortable rooms
- Friendly and helpful staff
- Road noise from adjacent highway
- Breakfast availability and quality

The entire hotel; lobby, our room and parking area was clean. Everything was well maintained. The parking lot was well lit. The breakfast was excellent; very good variety, fresh, and cold items were cold and hot items hot. The hotel is right off the I-40 feeder road so very convenient entry and exit. The only downside with the convenient location is that there is some road noise, especially until about 10-11PM.
- 5/5
The hotel was clean and the rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable! The breakfast was delicious
- 4/5
We stayed here for a wedding and enjoyed our stay. Rom was clean, service was great. Lobby well maintained and new looking furniture, high top sitting area with charging plugs. Quick drive to everything, Buc-ees right across the highway, restaurants, etc. Not really walkable to anything, as you're on a very busy access road with a field in between you and everything else. Breakfast was ok, but it's standard hotel breakfast so no surprises there. The only issue was there is no shelf in the shower and not really anywhere to hang a towel but on the shower itself. Big shower that replaced tub like many others have done, but just a small soap dish, so no room for shampoo, razors, etc. We pulled the small chair table into the bathroom, but you shouldn't have to do that. Not a big deal, but every other hotel I've stayed in has that now for the most part.

Nice pool and clean rooms. The breakfast was a little lame.

Nice hotel. Plenty of places to plug in devices to charge.

The room was decent at first glance, and the sheets, pillows, and towels appeared clean, but I noticed the bedsheet wasn’t fully pulled down and there appeared to be dried blood near the bottom edge of the bed, which was really gross and concerning. Another issue was the noise. The hotel advertises soundproof rooms, but I could hear every car outside and planes taking off throughout the night. Overall, the stay was uncomfortable and not what I expected. I wouldn’t recommend and definitely don’t plan on staying again
- 5/5
Overall great experience from service to room.
- 5/5
Great stay as I have come to expect!
- 4/5
The fitness equipment was not working. Other than that it was a good stay.
- 5/5
We stay here often as a midway point on our trip.
- 5/5
Very close to The Big Texan Steakhouse which was excellent!
- 5/5
We have stayed at this location several times on road trips to Texas because it is clean and comfortable, with easy, free, safe parking and a decent breakfast before heading back out on the road. Location is convenient to I40 as well as nearby attractions like Big Texan steakhouse, Buc'ees, Cadillac Ranch and Amarillo Sod Poodle baseball games.
- 4/5
Breakfast was inferior. Limited choices.

I requested a handicap room and I didn’t have a raised toilet or any bars

Perfect overnight stay to break up a long drive. Clean, comfortable, and great breakfast! Also the staff were very kind.
- 5/5
Everything was convenient to other businesses. We were traveling with 2 cats and they were welcomed. Friendly staff. Location and easy on and off main road. There was a little road construction going on around there. I'm sure that's done by now.

Muy profesionales todos .
- 3/5
Not bad for a quick stay, but definitely not quiet cause it’s by the highway
- 5/5
My stay was very good. Friendly helpful staff and felt pretty safe.
- 5/5
Nice place, probably will stop by again
- 5/5
Lovely hotel and staff
- 5/5
Absolutely nothing to do with the property itself. But there is road construction and it’s extremely hard to get in currently where if you miss the turn to get in you’re going all the way around that’s about the only negative thing I have to say. Everything at this property was fantastic.

Not a lot to choose from for breakfast. Coffee wasn’t very good, with styrofoam cups with flimsy lids. The maid knocked on our door early morning. The staff person checking us in made a derogatory remark after looking at my drivers license about Californian’s.
- 5/5
We stay here twice a year. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. They have a nice breakfast. They also have a grassy area for dogs.

only problem I had was in the gym, one of the cables needs attention , other than that all went very well!
- 5/5
There's nothing to complain about, the entire hotel , amenities and customer service was amazing. 100 % recommended.
- 4/5
The night shift gentleman was not very nice. He seemed to be annoyed that we had to check in late and then the room he assigned us to, the key wouldn’t work…. I think there was already someone staying in the room. 3 trips up and down the elevator and he finally got us into a room. The room itself was very clean and well kept, no complaints there just need some customer service skills.
- 5/5
Quiet, clean, well kept, professional
- 3.5/5
Breakfast was good, new revamp lobby area very nice with a lot of seating. The room was very small, you could tell it was old room with fresh paint but the tiles were old and dirty grout and the pillows were awful not enough light in the bathroom.

- 4/5
Very good
- 1/5
Morning staff was horrible! Rude, racist, childish woman up front. Dirty yellow blonde hair. She refused to give her name. She started an argument with my daughter after my daughter simply asked for a receipt. She yelled through the lobby with customers around having breakfast. She threatened to throw me out as I waited for my husband, and acted like she was calling security. She mocked that we “were from California”. She continued yelling in front of customers all while accusing me of doing the yelling. NEVER will I ever stay here again and I definitely would not recommend!
- 5/5
Never disappoints

- 3/5
When I stayed here a couple of years ago everything was good. The prices are up but EVERYTHING else has gone downhill. Staff so-so, room worn, shower needed a good cleaning and recaulking, the mattress needed replacement. The breakfast was good! I'll try the Fairfield next time.
- 5/5
Great staff, and the room was spotless.
- 2.5/5
close to the freeway the staff was very friendly and the facility was clean we were in an oversized vehicle and there was plenty of parking that was well lit and secured the rooms were very noisy the water pressure was not very good the breakfast options were very limited and there was not food being replenished
- 4.5/5
Great location Very clean Friendly staff Breakfast options were limited and the same daily
- 5/5
Perfect stay
- 4.5/5
Ok
- 4/5
The property was conveniently located but the staff was not cordial and really didn’t listen to my needs
- 3/5
The tile in the bathroom was cracked and some of the grout was missing. The heat was too high and did not adjust down - this was true of all of the rooms for our party.
- 2/5
The cost is pricey for a room where the ceiling is falling down. I went to the front desk to have someone come look at the three major areas where Sheetrock and drywall tape were cracked and falling down. It looked like a major leak from above. The front desk person had no idea about the condition of this room. It’s a handicap room. Our keys wouldn’t work, took half an hour to get us in our room and only after maintenance had to be called to reprogram the lock. We stayed her twice in 5 days and the first time I left my salon curling iron in the room but the staff claimed they new nothing about it. Not very happy they have dishonest people working there. Don’t stay in room 101 right next to outside door, it’s their handicap accessible rooms and pet friendly rooms wing, so all night long slamming doors as people took their pets in and out. The breakfast while free is the normal rubbery food, you’re better off going across the freeway to Buc ees for breakfast burritos. I guess we need to find another hotel.
- 2/5
For the amount a night cost, I would think the rooms would be in tip top shape. Took us a half an hour and a number of staff to let us in our handicap accessible room. Maintenance had to reprogram the lock. The ceiling of the room has cracks in it, looks like part of it is going to come down four or five different places. Who ever touched up the paint on the walls used the wrong type (flat on gloss) and the walls are all splotchy! I was shocked when I told the front desk the condition of the room and they had no idea that the room was in this condition. If you want a good night sleep, don’t stay in room 101, never slept more than half hour at a time as people went in and out the side door and let it slam shut plus this wing is also the dog friendly wing, so barking and whining dogs added to to the constant noise. We stayed there twice 5 days apart, the first time I left my very expensive curling iron but they claim they have no idea what happened to it and weren’t really concerned when I inquired about it on my return trip. Some employee has a very nice curling iron, not good customer service! I guess will have to find another hotel
- 5/5
Check-in staff was great, food was good, room was a bit cold but accommodating. Overall very pleased.
- 4/5
Long checkin process, about 30 minutes. Very unusual. There was an extremely long line. The breakfast was disappointing and seemed like minimal effort. Aside from that, the experience was fine.

The bathroom was filthy. The shower had not been cleaned. The room smelled like dog urine. For the price, I paid, I expected this property to be nicer.
- 5/5
Bed was amazing style of the restroom my favorite

Room was very clean. Had everything we needed. Breakfast was good, especially the waffles! Front desk guy was alright. Not super friendly but not rude either. The lady refreshing breakfast bar was very attentive.

The bed was horrible. We did not get any sleep
- 4/5
It was a decent stay. The parking lot was a bit cramped and there was dog feces littered through the grass areas surrounding the parking lot. The breakfast was ok with an average amount of selections. The bed was comfortable.
- 4/5
It was good The pillows were very hard and uncomfortable
- 5/5
Great experience
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, room was good, night desk clerk was crabby, treating me suspicious because I didn't know the license plate number. I thought that was unnecessary. I thought it was overpriced considering other places I've stayed for much less. Breakfast options weren't very good. I would have appreciated some cheese or salsa for eggs and bagels were stale. Room was clean but nothing fancy. Again for the price I kind of expected nicer. On the plus side, they did offer yogurt, which is always thoughtful for a lighter option. I would stay again but not for that price
- 5/5
Very great pet friendly hotel

It was overnight on our way home from Dallas
- 3/5
Property is immaculately clean on the inside. The cleaning staff are a total delight warm, friendly, and responsive. On the other hand, checking in and checking out the gentleman behind the counter, dressed unprofessionally and seemed to be more interested in surfing the Internet on his phone then engaging in any meaningful way. At one point, he sat down while I was working on my reservation surfing on his phone and left me waiting until he was finished.. on two different occasions. I caught a glimpse of his phone and it certainly had nothing to do with his responsibilities. He seemed to care less about his job then one could imagine.. I ran into him again at checkout, but he seemed totally disinterested. Once more in any opportunity he had was glued to his phone. I needed a room for another night and decided to go elsewhere.
- 5/5
Was really disappointed with breakfast. Minimal hot choices and slim amounts of others. The institutional pre-cooked eggs, potatoes, and sausage patties were barely warm and looked like they were just dumped out of the bag they were shipped from the supplier in. I realize and appreciate it's free, and we travel a lot eating probably the same type of food, but in this situation it was so poorly presented and maintained. Perhaps the maintenance man was tasked with food responsibilities that morning? (no insult intended to the maintenance man). Other than that, and we didn't stay there for the free breakfast, we'd stay there again. And of course the hotels closeness to "The Big Texan Steakhouse" can't be overlooked!
- 5/5
Clean room, great staff

The room was very clean and smelt clean also. Check in was fast and efficient.

The rooms were very clean and neat. The bed was great, staff was very friendly.

Nice stay and MUCH better than the hotel we stayed in before! Food could be better, but for a buffet it wasn't bad! Will stay again when working here in the future.

- 2.5/5
Breakfast was okay. Staff was aggressively indifferent to outright rude.
- 2/5
Room was fairly clean & well-supplied. (Toilet not cleaned thoroughly, though. The multiple pillows were soft and much appreciated. Unfortunately, there was a permanent "party in the parking lot" that went all night, car stereos booming while the attending sang along. Moved my car, as it did not feel safe in back. Staff all seemed burned-out and were callous and insensitive. Actually witnessed staff cutting line in the breakfast bar ahead of Guests. Later, when I couldn't find the front desk clerk to check out, I discovered he was the guy "chowing down" in the lobby. Barely bothered to look up from his feast -- just a grunt and "give me all of your room keys" was his response. Very unprofessional. * Breakfast bar girl and night managers seemed equally over their jobs. Dirt parking lot for oversize trucks next door needs to be paved. *On a good note, the Halloween theming and movie was most appreciated!
- 5/5
This hotel is well-kept and clean. The rooms are set up well and have ample space.
- 5/5
Great stay! Easy checking in and out. Quiet room!
- 5/5
The staff was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. We felt very safe parking in the lot. This is our second stay at this location.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, comfortable beds
- 5/5
Great 1 night stay. We had our two young children. We were able to get a travel crib for the baby. We got a king bed with a sofa which gave the kids some space to play before bed.
- 5/5
Or go-to howl when we fly out of Amarillo. Dependably clean, friendly, easy check in, nice rooms.
- 5/5
My favorite place to stay while in Amarillo
- 5/5
Little noisy from Interstate traffic.
- 5/5
Clean, beautiful, safe, and comfortable! Nice and quiet inside, and we slept like babies. Love that it’s dog friendly and the deposit for pets is much more reasonable than other places. Will definitely stay here again in the future!
- 2.5/5
Located next to Freeway. Was decent.
- 5/5
Very clean and roomy breakfast area
- 5/5
The property is on the one-way service road on I-40W so access is a bit challenging, but well worth your effort.
- 5/5
Amanda at the front desk was always so helpful. We were there for my dad's 100th Birthday. We stayed 4 days. Everything was so clean. Food was good, all in all we had a wonderful stay
- 5/5
Breakfast was good.
- 2/5
We reserved a mobility room and verified but didn’t receive it, very difficult to maneuver. When asked they just shrugged it off. We are finding that la Quinta’s are not for the handicapped. Rooms on second floor in certain states. Can’t use elevator in an emergency so stuck with no escape. When asked response is “ I don’t know, oh well”. Searching for new hotels now
- 5/5
Nice place to stay
- 5/5
A super comfy bed after a 12 hour car ride was just what we needed and just what we got. Very clean property and the man at the front desk was friendly. The breakfast was fast and convenient. It's very close to a Buccees. It's right off the freeway which was convenient for road trip purposes, but you did not hear the traffic which is great!
- 2/5
We are Gold Marriott card members and have stayed at this location several times in the last 3 years. We have received exceptional service at the Front Desk until this stay. We have had the same person assist us each time, until again this stay. The answers to my husband’s reasonable requests were No without any reasons or options that may be helpful. We have decided to find another hotel in Amarillo that will meet our travel needs.
- 5/5
Pool was nice and the lounge area by the breakfast room. Shower was awful 3rd floor, no pressure.
- 5/5
Always stay here when we are in Amarillo. Very friendly staff, clean and very comfortable.
- 5/5
The breakfast was a nice combination of many types of food. If we are in Amarillo again, we will stay here again.
- 5/5
Convenient
- 5/5
Felt safe with a car full of stuff. Great sleep. Good water pressure in shower. Decent breakfast. Will stay again if ever in Amarillo again.
- 5/5
convenient location easy to find. Clean, nice people. Noisy area limited sleep due to road noise. lots of trucks or load motorcycles.
- 1/5
Safe, a little noisy from interstate/airport & pet friendly room smelled of urine
- 5/5
Great location. Good breakfast. Quiet. Very Nice room. Nothing
- 5/5
Very quiet and comfortable. Pet fee is less than many hotels. We stayed twice within a week's time and breakfast was exactly the same both mornings. A bit more variety in the hot breakfast choices would be appreciated.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly. Room was clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
Staff was great, property is clean, breakfast is good! The only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star property in my book is the noise from both the interstate and the airport. That’s obviously not the hotel’s “fault”, but it is something to note if you don’t have to be near either one of those and are looking for a restful night of sleep (and don’t have anything to drown out the noise).
- 5/5
Best Breakfast. Most comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Room was clean with a super comfortable bed. Check-in was easy and staff was very helpful.
- 5/5

- 5/5
Great location
- 5/5
Nice place.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
The beds and bathroom were very clean and well maintained. My kids tried to swim but the pool was freezing, looked gross, and was overly chlorinated. I couldn't even stand to go in the pool room it smelled so strong. Breakfast tasted just ok. Offerings were scrambled eggs, sausages, potatoes, diy waffles and oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice and pastries. Desk employees were EXTREMELY friendly and courteous.
- 5/5
We were surprised that we needed to wait in the lobby when we arrived at 2:15 pm on Sunday afternoon. We know that check-in time is 3 pm, but usually the staff is amenable to allow us to check in 30 minutes early or so.
- 5/5
Clean room and nice breakfast
- 5/5
Comfortable bed. Easy check in. Good location.
- 4/5

- 4/5
Clean and nice thanks
- 5/5

- 3/5
Location
- 3.5/5
Bed comfortable. Check in and check out people very unfriendly. Breakfast was standard nothing special. A ton of dogs in hotel. If I realized this site charged 50$ more I would have booked directly with hotel. Lighting in room is very dim. TV channels choices limited. Not worth 190$ for a night. Learned my lesson
- 5/5
And now there’s a Buc-ee’s that you can literally walk to!
- 3/5
I stayed in Room 101, located right next to the exit by the dog relief area. Unfortunately, the access door slammed shut loudly all night, waking up both my 6-year-old and 6-month-old baby multiple times. None of us were able to get proper rest, which was incredibly frustrating — especially after paying nearly $200 for the night. When I brought the issue to the front desk, I was met with defensiveness. The woman on duty argued with me when I asked what could be done about the noise. Another employee nearby offered a simple and thoughtful suggestion — to place a sign on the door asking guests not to slam it due to rooms nearby. The front desk woman promptly dismissed his idea, continuing to argue instead of problem-solving. All I was trying to do was get the manager’s email to explain what we experienced and see if there was any remedy. I eventually received the information and emailed Shelly Cooper, but never received a response. This was a terrible situation overall. We booked this hotel based on good ratings, but the lack of sleep and the unprofessional staff response made for a very disappointing stay. I wouldn’t recommend this property to families or anyone expecting a quiet and respectful environment.
- 4.5/5
Great shower. Quiet and comfortable. Nothing was within walking distance.
- 5/5
Neat and clean
- 5/5
Accessible from the highway, well maintained neat and clean property
- 2/5
AC did not work correctly. Staff in the morning was rude. They talked about their guest in Spanish very derogatory. They did not realize that I speak fluent Spanish.
- 5/5
We love la Quinta!
- 5/5
Good location WiFi was a 45 when we got on at 7pm - super slow
- 5/5
Great stop to see Amarillo
- 4/5
There was only one elevator working, so that was sort of a problem.
- 4/5
Spacious room. Breakfast selection was suboptimal compared to other hotels we've stayed at on this trip.
- 2/5
Check in had a line and when I got to the front the attendant just said “I’d and credit card” - no hello, thanks for waiting, or anything. Then the room door didn’t lock from the outside. Looking at it, the door jam was missing anything for the door to latch onto. Also we were right by the side entrance which was supposed to need a key to enter but the door didn’t latch shut so if someone went out the door was left ajar - unsafe! That door also squeaked VERY loudly so I know people were in and out all night. Saw some gross bugs by the hall light too so I didn’t feel like it was terribly clean either. Attaching photos of all.
- 5/5
Great
- 3/5
It is a nice hotel. We arrived lat about 1130pm during a rain storm. We checked in and went to our room. The a/c did not work and could not be fixed. Mind you, this is the end of June and late at night. So the room was hot and stuffy. The hotel was also sold out. So, we are a little cranky as of this review.
- 5/5
I had a wonderful time there enjoying every minute. Customer service was great. Food was great nice place.
- 5/5
100% recommend
- 3/5
It was bare minimum decent long waits at the front counter and the basic and most minimal amount of necessary items as well as an outdated tv
- 4/5
The entrance off the road was a bit hard to find (well past the hotel itself) and rock strewn. The woman at the check in desk was humorless and not terribly welcoming. The room and bathroom were great. The breakfast was so/so.
- 4/5
Very nice and clean
- 5/5
Noce hotel, very comfortable bed. Near restaurants.
- 5/5
We had a great stay at this property. However, there are two things worth noting: We made a reservation through Hotels.com for a room for 5 people and needed a wheel chair accessible room. When we got there, we found out that they do not have any rooms that accommodate 5 people. Also, the room we got for our disabled family member was deemed "accessible" but not necessarily wheelchair accessible. We noticed that the room across the hall had a wheelchair sign. The bathroom in our room was no different than a regular room and was not great for a person with mobility issues. If these issues are important to your stay, more questions are needed before reserving.
- 5/5
Pre check was flawless. Just walked in and picked up key and to a first floor room as requested
- 5/5
Easy to find and getting in and out. Check in process was easy and room was very clean.
- 5/5
Friendly
- 5/5
So clean. Beds were comfortable. Beautiful decor colors for a hotel. Bathroom was spacious. A bit of freeway noise but otherwise quite nice!
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean. The staff was professional and courteous.
- 5/5
Excellent place to rest. Beds are very comfortable
- 5/5
King sized bed was amazing. Super comf. Spacious room, nice couch. Only draw back was room next to elevator.
- 4/5
I didnt realize this was the place to stay with pets. Everyone had animals which is fine im not against people having animals but i didnt realize there would be so many and i have allergies to animals so it was not a pleasant stay for me.
- 5/5
Awesome stay
- 5/5
Always a great stay. Convenient and easy to get around. Great staff
- 4/5
The parking is atrocious. There was about 5-7 empty spots that could not be used because apparently Texans like to drive big trucks but they can’t seem to park them properly. There were several big texas trucks that were double, triple, and quadruple parked. Ridiculous! If you are expecting big truck travelers with known awful parking adjust parking for your clientele and parking per rooms.
- 5/5
As expected. Very clean and nice staff.
- 5/5
Great property great park
- 3/5
Everything was ok just the fact we didn’t get no cleaning service and we had asked for them to clean our room and have clean towels and bedsheets but nothing was done and when we called front desk they told us we couldn’t have no one at the time and if we wanted clean towels we could come get them downstairs
- 5/5
Very clean, nice comfortable beds, great staff, and good breakfast

- 5/5
My room was already nice and cool when I arrived. The room was very clean and beautifully decorated with everything to make me comfortable.
- 5/5
Great hotel and my Dogs love it!!!
- 2/5
The check-in took forever, the manager was by himself at the desk. The bath sink has mold, the tub needed hand hold, shower head too high, etc, etc.
- 4/5
Close to the airport. Nothing within walking distance
- 5/5
The hotel staff were friendly and the bed is incredibly comfy.
- 5/5

The staff is always excellent I will not stay anywhere else but in La Quinta Inn Airport in Amarillo TX
- 5/5
Accessible room was fine
- 5/5
Great Staff, Personable and Helpful

We got in a bit late, around midnight. When we arrived the staff let the guests take up a majority of the parking spaces at the hotel. Instead of instructing them to park in the lot next door. I finally found a parking spot. The room was decent, until I took a shower and the sliding door came off the track and almost fell on me.

Very nice hotel that is super pet friendly. Did not charge any thing extra for us to bring our Lab into our room

I was travelling with someone with a disability that requires seated bathing. We booked a handicap accessible room which overall was accommodating. However, the walk in shower is NOT disability friendly. The single soap dish is placed too high for someone restricted to a wheelchair or shower bench and there was no additional shelf to place shampoo or washcloth at a lower, more reachable level, and the shower control and shower head would be inaccessible for someone who, due to their disability, must be seated for bathing.

Beds were comfy and the room was spacious and clean. It has nice area to walk our dog. Staff was great. Would stay here again.

I don’t like such high pet fees. I used to leave a nice tip AND I clean up all signs of my pet. Now I don’t leave a tip, I’ve already paid $28.75. I still clean up after my pet, as pet owners should. I bet the maids don’t see that pet fee.

The breakfast was unattended therefore no hot food when we arrived at the breakfast area in the morning. Very disappointing

Best LaQuinta Inn & Suites I’ve ever stayed at. Brent at the front desk was amazing upon checkin. Rooms and everything were fantastic.
