Quiet, within walking distance of town, nice pool

From the reviews I expected to have a really nice stay here, it was my first time visiting Oregon so I wanted to treat myself to a really cute hotel. The first inn keeper I met was very nice, but he punched in the code to my room himself and there was no deadbolt or other way to secure the door other than the code. The second inn keeper asked me to 'move [my] car, this is private property' after I already checked in. He just assumed I wasn't supposed to be there, instead of asking if I had a reservation which made me feel unwelcome and I didn't feel safe to explore the town after that since I was on my own. I had a wonderful stay in Ashland at the Bard's Inn on my way home and got to see more of the town. Unfortunately this interaction was just the first thing that happened to me. Also I wanted to take a bath but it just kept draining even though I pushed the drain stopper down. It was also the most expensive accommodation I booked on my trip and I do not feel the value was there, the Bard's Inn was cheaper, larger, closer to the down town, and more professional.

Lovely property hidden in a quiet neighborhood, walking distance to downtown and Oregon Shakespeare Theatre. Could use a quieter bathroom fan but all else good!
- 5/5
The property is absolutely beautiful. Peaceful and calm. The room was very comfortable, and the grounds were absolutely gorgeous with the large garden.
- 4.5/5
All was good.

We were met by the owner who showed us to our room. I wish the weather had been a bit warmer to take advantage of the private patio we had. The room was spacious and the bed was comfortable. I use two towels and there were enough to accommodate that which doesn’t happen often.p It was a bit longer walk to the theaters than we expected. Lots of up and down
- 5/5
Charming inn conveniently located in walking distance of all that Ashland has to offer. Charmingly appointed in period furniture, yet comfortable and efficient bed and bathroom. Thoughtful and responsive hosts. Will come back again!
- 3/5
No breakfast provided, but did have a room available with microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator, toaster and china and utensils. Bed was excellent. Large courtyard with tables. Had small pool that was a surprise. Shower head was not adjustable. Room was pretty small, but well arranged.
- 5/5
Great location, very clean and quaint.
- 3/5
Comfortable and close to downtown. Even though some reviews and the map say there is breakfast; there is none.
- 2.5/5
Close to town. Pleasant owner King mattress old and broken in. Thin walls causes you to hear the next room snorer quit loudly. Use of a very strong fabric detergent/softener that made the towels wreak of a strong scent combined with a plug-in "air freshener" that made the room's air overwhelming.
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay and wish it had been longer. Very quiet, comfortable room close to OSF and downtown.
- 5/5
I felt the place was super clean, well-appointed, and had good water pressure, and DEER in the yard! The deer were having lunch too, so we had lunch in the yard too while they hung out - very cool! Also, the location is perfect - an easy walk to the theaters and downtown - really delightful.
- 4/5
Pool heat was turned off. The small shared use kitchen toaster didn't work great.
- 5/5
Wonderful place! I had a huge, very private room, with a very comfortable bed and a well-kitted bathroom; an easy walk to downtown and the theaters. Recommended!
- 5/5
Loved the quiet in the garden and that we were walking distance to downtown.
- 5/5
Having a free EV charger was appreciated!
- 5/5
great walkable location to downtown Ashland. Cute balcony area. Lots of privacy. NA
- 5/5
They no longer serve breakfast, but the hospitality was great, bed was very comfortable, and nice outdoor seating in a garden area where we were visited by deer. It is in easy walking distance of downtown with excellent restaurants and the Shakespeare Festival theaters.
- 5/5
Beautiful property, great location, friendly owner.
- 5/5
The pool was great and it was great fun when the wild deer visited the back garden early in the morning.
- 5/5
Absolutely beautiful space. Private patio. Great bed with luxurious linens. Loved this place we will be back.

The room smelled of very strong cleaner.

What a fabulous harbor these gentlemen have created. So quiet, so peaceful. And the ART!!! I will definitely be staying again....B

Quiet location. Room was private, comfortable and large. Deck/ patio and gardens were nice. Access to kitchenette was very helpful. Pool was great. We would happily stay again. Nothing

Spent a week at the Arden Forest Inn going to OSF performances. There is a nice Guest kitchen easy to access that is kept stocked w Kcups and a large frig where you can store your own milk and breakfast items. Our private patio made our stay wonderfully cozy. Pool was clean and refreshing. Very nice bed. We’ll be back.

We enjoyed our conversations with the innkeepers: William and Corbet. The property is dated; therefore, difficult to work on computers while in the room. The garden is lovely and attracts wildlife that was fun to watch.
- 3/5
Nice location. The property could use some work . The garden was overgrown and uninviting. The room was comfortable and clean
- 5/5
This was our second visit and always a nice stay during the summer months.
- 5/5
An idyllic oasis, walkable to everything yet so peaceful within the privacy of the fenced property. Beautiful gardens, a pool and a cat- doesn’t get any better.
- 5/5
Very helpful and conveniently located parking and amenities.
- 5/5
The small inn is clean and friendly and comfy rooms are next to the lovely garden. The pool was a bonus!
- 5/5
Beautiful setting. Friendly innkeeper. Small inn with respectful friendly customers. Within walking distance of downtown and Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Room was spacious and comfortable. Bathroom was large. Inn had a Small kitchen area with shared refrigerator/freezer, microwave, keurig coffee maker, tea and coffee pods available. Deer walking thru garden in morning. Nice heated pool. Wish there had been ice available.
- 5/5
We love this property. The rooms are charming, the grounds are beautiful, and the owners are so nice!
- 3/5
While past guests have enjoyed it, the owners seem to have run out of energy. We learned that they no longer serve the breakfasts that drew praise in the past. There are now only three rooms, which are “fine” but nothing special. The garden in back is lovely, but there are only hard metal chairs with no cushions and no lounge chairs at all. It is very convenient if you are walking to downtown or the Shakespeare Festival, but that’s the best I can say about it.
- 5/5
Friendly hosts and few rooms available so this large yard felt private. Nice facility.
- 4/5
The room was comfortable and the location was excellent, just a short walk to the downtown area which had tons of restaurants. A quaint place with an excellent host.
- 5/5
Close to downtown.
- 4/5
The innkeeper was very friendly and polite. Charming room with unique furnishings and art. Great location - walk to downtown. Good quality sheets, towels and toiletries. Lovely back garden. The building I stayed in - carriage house - is pretty old and could use carpet replacement, stepping stones, roof gutter repair. The convenient guest kitchen had a strong odor like someone was making kombucha or something.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Very nice owners who greeted us and showed us around. They gave recommendations if restaurants and shows.
- 5/5
Simply my favorite place to stay in Ashland, which I've visited many times. The owners are genial and informative, with excellent aesthetics. Our room was well appointed. I recommend two padded reading chairs, one for each occupant...
- 5/5
Great hosts and great room.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Lovely spacious room.
- 5/5
It's a great place and has friendly owners. Needs a little extra gardening outside but maybe just the time of fall is hard.
- 5/5
This is an adorable inn that is close to downtown Ashland and across the street from our daughter's apartment. The proprietors were so kind, the room was clean and cute, and we had a private deck outside our door. We were only there for one night, but we really enjoyed it and will come back!
- 5/5
Hosts are great. They are knowledgeable and helpful with respect to Festival Shows as well as any questions we had. Room was comfortable and well appointed. We are looking forward to returning. We enjoyed the outdoor kitty, and the charming backyard.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Lovely gardens. Convenient parking with charging station. Ill be back!
- 5/5
Let me begin by saying that I have never given a 5 star rating to a hotel but Arden Forest Inn has earned it! Our room was very private and spacious. The attention to detail and special touches were evident throughout. The location is far enough away from the busy plaza but close enough to walk. Having a fully stocked guest kitchenette was another plus. We'll be back!
- 5/5
Lovely garden setting. Clean, comfortable rooms.
- 5/5
Excellent experience
- 5/5
Beautiful little inn within a short walk of downtown Ashland.
- 5/5
This was an absolute gem of a place. We enjoyed the garden and comfort of the room, but didn't have a chance to use the pool. We were pleasantly surprise that they had a Level2 EV charger for guest use. We had a lovely walk into town for dinner. Wish we could have stayed longer!
- 5/5
We went to Skout three times to have beer and once for dinner. It’s along the creek and across from Lithia park, which is a fun people watching (and deer) spot! Skout had the best street tacos!! Generous portions of meat and accompaniments! They also carry many beers on tap and allow several tastings! They carry gluten free beer too! What a fun weekend!
- 5/5
The bed was very comfortable, and the thermostat worked well, thankfully, because the high temps were in the 90s. The backyard is lush and relaxing, with tables and chairs in several locations for games or quiet conversation. The wind chimes complement the surroundings beautifully. Yesterday while I was in the pool, a male and female deer casually walked into into the backyard, accompanied by their two fawns. The room was on the small side compared to the corporate inn/motel chains.
- 3/5
Had we not seen the photos of the delicious breakfasts, we would have booked somewhere else! The grounds were pretty, but the very old accordion door on the bathroom was less than ideal.
- 5/5
I couldn't ask for more. It was perfect.
- 5/5
I had the best sleep here! It was so quiet and peaceful - an oasis really. Our room was comfy and the bed and pillows were perfect. It is an easy walk to the center of town. The property grounds are a haven with lots of different sitting areas - I sat outside and read many times during my stay. I highly recommend staying here!
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay at Arden Forest. The location is perfect, about a 10 minute walk to town through a quiet, leafy residential area. The off-street parking was convenient. The grounds were beautiful; I wish we'd had time to spend a few hours relaxing in the garden. Our room was great -very clean with a comfy bed. The shower temperature and pressure were so appreciated after a chilly night of camping just before our visit. We barely interacted with the hosts, which was fine. Overall, a terrific option for Ashland and a great value if you book a few months out. Highly recommended.
- 5/5
The lovely innkeeper met me for a late checkin at 19 pm. There was e-vehicle charging right by my room. The sidewalks were a tad rough to navigate with my rolling suitcase - but overall all lovely stayover in Ashland
- 4/5
Owners are very nice. Great breakfast. Toilet leaking in room 1 so the tile was coming up and damp. But the room was clean and well stocked.
- 5/5
I had a very lovely stay at the Arden forest Inn. Corbet and Bill were wonderful hosts, and we had some delightful conversations during our delicious breakfasts. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I can't say enough about the breakfasts -- both the conversations and the food made it a memorable stay.
- 5/5
This is a charming B&B a bit off the beaten track but walkable to to the Festival and downtown. The breakfasts were delicious and elegantly prepared.
- 5/5
We try to stay at Arden Forest Inn whenever we visit Ashland. Lovely comfortable rooms, nice grounds including a pool. Breakfast is a treat. Conversation at breakfast is often stimulating.
- 5/5
I has mu own private little patio which was nice
- 5/5
Great Location. Beautiful yard with cozy privacy pool. Surrounded by plants and dears. Comfortable bed. Good pressure shower head. Hosts served a real breakfast with fresh fruit bowl and a main course - Haven't found such an authentic home-made omelet + biscuits anywhere else. Family enjoyed staying in the main house. As my suggestion, I wouldn't book the downstairs bedroom in the main house as the upstairs walk in the wooden floor makes considerable noise for people downstairs - I didn't see the others accommodation but for those matters, I definitely recommend a separate accommodation from the main house.
- 5/5
We enjoyed every moment of our stay. Our hosts, Corbett and Bill were exceptional. The breakfasts were amazing enough to feed an army. Staying at Arden felt like we were staying with family. Even strangers became friends thanks to the warm of our hosts and the home.
- 5/5
Great hosts, breakfast (although 9 am was a bit later than our usual time), decor, amenities, backyard/garden with seating areas, location.
- 5/5
Great visit at the Inn. Wonderful hosts, although we were there for the end of their ownership run. The property is charming, the location very easy for walking into town, everything about the experience was fantastic. Very much recommended.
- 5/5
Very clean, very quaint, and cozy comfortable. The best part though, was the 9:00am breakfast every day the hosts prepared and shared that usually lasted all morning because of the friendly and engaging conversations they provided. It was as if we were best friends even though we had just met. The best bed and breakfast we've ever experienced.
- 5/5
Great meals prepared by fine hosts.
- 3/5
We had an issue with a noisy vent which was replaced promptly when we reported it.
- 5/5
Took a quick three day trip and have to give the highest compliments to the hosts. Great place, great breakfast, and great people. The hosts are a treat to chat with over breakfast. A very private pool was a welcome site in summer heat as well.
- 5/5
Bill and Corbet were friendly and fantastic hosts. Breakfasts were not only delicious, but sustained us all day. The property is beautiful, and our room was nice and cozy.
