Hotel is old and pretty run down. Felt a little dirty, but difficult to clean a building that desperately needs renovation. Breakfast was exactly what La Quinta offers--sausages and what appeared to be powdered eggs along with the various breads and the ubiquitous customer made waffles. The real bright spat aside from the very friendly and professional staff was the ultra surprising housekeeping visit DURING OUR VISIT!. Haven't seen that in several years at any hotel we've stayed at. We left in the morning and came back to a fully restored room. This was so nice I added a star to my review. This is also why I don't like staying at AirBnB or VRBO type rentals as they do not offer housekeeping services. They also have an additional cleaning fee. Good pet area. I really resent the daily pet fee, supposedly to cover the extra cost of cleaning a room with a pet. I can understand a "per stay" pet fee but the "per pet, per day" fee seems excessive.

No wafer our entire stay. They ain’t tell us when we checked in although they knew Managemt offered no updates. No free bottled water. No apologies Couldn’t flush the toilet, brush our teeth or take a shower. Air conditioning not working because it takes water No COMFORT at all.

The price booking.com gave is was excellent. When we went to check in, the front desk receptionist told us that my card had been declined and the room had been booked up by someone else. We walked to the car and used another card to rebook. Once booked, we walked back inside with the confirmation number and knew that the funds were in the account to cover the room. This time the receptionist told us, there was no vacancy, however there was not a no vacancy sign anywhere. The advertisement sign outside the hotel claimed they had vacancy. I brought this all to the receptionists attention and how I didn't understand if their were no rooms available, that it allowed me to book the room and give me a confirmation number. I also brought the fact that they had just told us the first time we walked in, the only reason we didn't have a room was because it had been booked since my card declined and not that they didn't have any vacancy and not even ten min later after rebooking and it going through they all of a sudden had no vacancy when no one else had walked in to check in prior to us walking back in because we were sitting just out front. We also asked why they wouldn't have said they had no vacancy the first time we walked in and gave us a different excuse. It was almost as if they just didn't want to rent the room out to anyone at the price y'all gave and wanted to keep it open in case anyone else booked for the night to get more money. We have ran into this problem before when we used your site and had gone out of state and the people there were honest with us, saying that if they had an event they would not allow anyone to use the discounted sites for rooms and wouldn't rent them out for the night because they were losing money .

We were very pleased with our stay. Friendly staff when we checked in and out. Good choice of food for breakfast, that was included. Hot dishes, waffles and bakery items. There was lemon water and hot drinks available all the time. Very clean and friendly staff. Room was spacious and appreciated we could control the temp. in the room. Close to Ashland downtown. Had pool and hot tub though we didn't use this time. We'd stay there again.

The room was well appointed with a side table, lamp, and an upholstered chair for each side of the bed. The bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. I also appreciated the multiple charging ports on the desk. Breakfast options were plentiful and tasty, and attendants were friendly, helpful, and active in resupplying offerings. Staff members in general were welcoming as well as busy caring for the facility inside and out. As a bonus we had a restful view out our window of a grassy field, trees, and surrounding hills. There were no grab bars by the shower/bathtub in our room. And there were no nightlights. Both of these would have been helpful and better safeguard travelers in an unfamiliar space. I would have appreciated some info in the room about nearby restaurants.

The staff were nice. The breakfast was terrible. The bacon looked like it was microwaved and the eggs didn’t taste like eggs. It smelt like pot when you walked in from entrance downstairs, the toilet was very low to the ground and the pressure was low. The outlets in the bathroom area we could not use because the mirror was covering it. The phone in the room did not work. The room is clean, but there was a piece of hair on the shampoo container. Location was good.

Location, pet friendly, clean. Plus, they give you a sheet to cover the bed, so your dog can sleep on the bed without getting it dirty. They put you on the bottom floor, so you don’t have to take the elevator or stairs to take your dog out. Very professional and frustaff. It was great. No complaints.

It's a good place for the price. The pool is open 24 hours a day and they have a friendly staff. The rooms are clean, but the smell of cleaner is overpowering. The walls are thin as well, we were above the breakfast lounge and it was loud. I would stay there again for the price for sure. Good value. 👍

Was given keys to a room on the first floor. The tv was not working properly and the front desk said they have been having problems with the tv and remotes in that room. So I don’t know why they would put me and my 2 small children in there. They then moved us next door and said the TV worked in there and they had checked it before we moved over which was good but I didn’t even get a chance to check it myself because the smell in that room over powered my smell and thoughts. Had to go to the front desk and explain the foul smell that was coming from that room. The front desk person gave little to no reaction. I then asked are these pet friendly rooms that we were in? They replied yes all the rooms on the first floor are. Seeing how I came in without a pet and did not request a first floor room what gave the front desk person the assumption to give me those rooms, twice! They then gave me a room upstairs and that one was better. Still needed some renovations but no smell and made it work.

Started our night in 223, right after we checked in there was a dog that was barking non-stop for about 3 hours. Went to the front desk and the staff was great, immediately asked if we wanted to change rooms which we did. They were very apologetic and helpful. Get up to room 423 and everything was ok until (I’m only guessing) that the dog got put in the car and would not stop barking until 5:00am which we could hear in the bedroom. We ended up sleeping in the living room with the door to the bedroom shut just so we could get some sleep. Not the hotel or the staffs problem, but it was not the best experience.

We were not put in a double queen like we booked, we were placed in a king. We were so tired from driving that I didn't fuss about it. The room was spacious and clean- so clean in fact that it had an OVERWHELMING smell of lysol. As if the carpet was bathed in it. The bathroom was dated with old caulk and a gap in the floor tiles, but it was clean. Overall, it was cheap and we needed a place to rest on our drive to CA, but you get what you pay for.

Fantastic, top notch guest service. You have great employees! The building is in need of repair. We had to switch rooms due to very loud heating unit. We then moved across the hall where we endured what sounded like a wrestling match taking place in the room above us for hours. We did not sleep at all. Get a top floor room with new heat/ac!

I really loved staying at this place! Sky was friendly and helped us grab a room that was close to the entrance because I have chronic pain and it was ADA friendly. The pool was calm and I had the whole pool room to myself when I was in there. The pool water could have been a hair cleaner but other than that it was great. I will be back on our way out of California and I can't wait to be back here again!

The cleanliness of the room was exceptional both in looks and smell. The upkeep of the property was great. We expected road noise with the proximity to the freeway, bu there wasn't any.

The facility could use some upgrades and fresh paint in some outdoor areas. The rating was excellent so I was expecting better facility. It was okay but I had wished I stayed at the Marriott for the same price.

The property and room all seemed to be in good condition and a bit dated. Breakfast was ok. Wish we didn’t have room at lower level, only thing we didn’t like. Otherwise we would stay here again.

When I was booking, I saw this property was rated five stars and it has absolutely met and exceeded my expectations. Super clean, quiet and quiet AC, super helpful front desk staff. Two miles from Main Street with the shops and a park and the Shakespeare theaters.

the hotel needs remodeling, everything is very worn out

TV trouble. This is the second time in a row we have stayed here and the TV did not work. They fixed it, but it could have been done before occupancy. The staff was very helpful in fixing the problem when changing clickers did not work!

Needed to stop overnight on a long road trip and found this place on the app. Arrived late, checked in with no problems, found the room clean and comfortable. Slept well; quiet location, despite being next to the highway. Breakfast area was clean and had some nice choices to eat. Will stay here again in the future.

Everything was great and super comfortable!

Pool and hot tub was out of service and we were never notified, not in the email they sent and not not when we checked in. We should have had an opportunity to change our decision with this knowledge. We had originally Decided on a different place but then switched to this one because we were specific looking for a place with a pool and hot tub, and we paid $50 more just so we could have access to a pool, we also chose this over places that had a better location because again we wanted to pool.

Close enough to downtown Ashland and easy I-5 access.

We stayed for one night with a pet. Good location and price but the pool/hot tub were closed and the elevator was not working either. No discount for the broken/ non-functional facilities. The property needs much better maintenance. Check in staff was very pleasant and accommodating as was the staff refreshing the breakfast area.

I loved that the working people were very kind to my older Vizsla medical Service dog. I have owned her for 11years—she is now 12. She has been my first & only service dog, and the best! The man who tried to kill me on September 28, 2012 is now dead…so my life in California has returned where I grew up—Redding! 🦮♥️

It was a great place.

Very convenient with a friendly staff who helped return our pillow to us that we left behind. Affordable option for travelers who need a good clean option. A few knobs were broken but everything functional. Nice full breakfast in the morning and a very nice exterior.

Thin walls. On the bottom floor so heard everything

We stayed 3 nights to attend the Shakespeare Festival. I would not call this hotel convenient to downtown Ashland, absolutely NOT walkable (maybe 3-4 miles), but the overnight rate was economical. The hotel location is a bit noisy, at the corner of I-5 and the very busy off-ramp and street. The hotel has a large lot out front for self-parking. Staff is very friendly and competent. There's morning breakfast available. The room is basic, a generic hotel, and the bathroom was VERY small. The toilet room had a door, the adjacent sink area did not. A not typical note: Our room had a terrible morning smell coming from the bathtub, which we reported. A plumber came right out. Next morning, the bathtub had a couple of inches of sewage, so no morning showers. Room was taken out of service and if we'd been staying longer, I'm sure we would have been offered a different room, but this happened the morning we were checking out. I am sure they will have this fixed soon and not offer that room till it is, but it does speak to the age of the hotel, we think. Beds were quite comfortable, AC was good but noisy. This was what I'd term a generic hotel room, as in, about what you'd expect but nothing special." When we visit Ashland again, we will stay elsewhere much closer to the Festival grounds.

This place was a great place to stay for the price and the pool and amenities were excellent.

This property wasn’t terrible for a one night stay as we were on our way somewhere. However, the hotel elevator, pool and spa were all broken when we arrived. Front desk wasn’t terribly friendly. The area surrounding this hotel is near the freeway and very busy with cars. Super noisy and we had the hardest time turning left (towards their main area of town) from their parking lot. It’s a dangerous place to turn with traffic coming fast every direction. Need a stop sign or traffic light..something!

Swimming pool and hot tub were not available due to repairs. We were not aware of this problem until we arrived

Elevator was out of order but the lobby is on the second floor. The third floor was only 15 steps up and the staff offered to carry our bags up. Staff was super friendly and accommodating.

The bad: Elevator, pool and hot tub were broken. Sofa bed hard to get to (need to move two tables and the sofa to open the bed), no way to control temperature in room with sofa so it was extremely hot and stuffy all night.

The Inn was great. Had great check-in ( little busy for 1 person), room was easily accessible for someone with a child and pet, very clean and good complimentary breakfast. Being right off the freeway felt a little unsafe and not having a restaurant in or near the inn was a little difficult. It took us 20 minutes to find a place to get some food and everything except for 1 place was closed.

The elevator did not work and had to carry out luggages to the second floor. The smell of legal marijuana was very strong in some areas of the hallway, to the point that I was getting sick. Did not use the pool or hot tub. Staff at check in and check out was fast and courteous.

The beds felt good ...all and all it was a good night's stay for us.

Great place to stay! Only a short drive into downtown Ashland. Great breakfast.

Very clean but the room had a very heavy perfumed smell that lingered. It was a pet friendly room but perfumed cleaner is not my preference.

Would definitely stay at Comfort Inn again.

At check in, they put us on the 4th floor and then said the elevator was broken. I laughed. If wasn’t a joke. They were able to change our room to a down stairs one. That was great. Then… We had a room with a kitchenette. Stove, fridge, dishwater. There wasn’t a single pot, pan or utensil in the whole kitchen. No cups or soap either. I asked the wonderful front desk for help and they did their best. She searched the other kitchen rooms as well as the hotel kitchen and nothing. Later, she came to the room with a pan. That was helpful. So I guess pack your own pots and pans? Kind of frustrating since that’s why I chose this room and hotel. I have kids so cooking simple food is the reason why we picked this place.

Large, comfortable, quiet and clean. Convenient to DT and Shakespeare Festival. Highly recommend.

The hotel was clean with an friendly staff and the location was close to downtown and quiet.

Great room and they have a 24 hour pool.

Only annoyances: Can be hard to get in and out due to traffic 2. A/C unit start up was very loud (I tuned it out after the first jolt, then I was fine). I would definitely stay here again.

Fun and friendly staff . In process of remodel. Keep is nice while doing work . Loved the sheets and great towels. Comfortable beds .

The bed was really hard, and it sounded like the people above me were moving furniture for hours at night. The guy that checked me in was a little rude. Plus, the AC sounded like a lawnmower everytime it kicked on.
