Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atlanta Buckhead by IHG

Nice hotel and friendly staff, but our room had multiple maintenance issues. We arrived to a strong moldy smell, and one of the two showers wasn't working. After that was fixed, we woke up to soaked carpeting around the bathroom and living room area due to a leak. Staff responded, but the issue was never repaired, and with no rooms available, we had to spend two more nights in a wet, musty room. Unfortunately, this made for a very disappointing stay..

This hotel is very outdated and the room felt that way. The bathroom felt old and the beds were not comfortable. We were only here for a night and it was cheap so it was ok. The staff were super friendly and nice which made the stay enjoyable.

Good place to stay if seeing a show at Chastain ampitheater, it's close. Convenience store/gas station across the street. Staff is always friendly, breakfast has both hot and cold choices.

Very near the Chastain ampitheater. Large gas station/convenience store across the street as well as a shopping center with Target. The breakfast buffet was excellent! We had our car break down on the way up to a concert and had it towed to this hotel where we were staying. The next day a mechanic came to diagnose the problem and we found out we were going to have it tow it all the way back to Phenix City, AL. While all this was going on the manager, Tee and other employee, Rohan, were extremely understanding and let us have a late check out without charging us so we could deal with the whole situation. I was extremely distraught by the situation and they helped me with what they could and it really helped us out. I will stay here again when I have the need in that area, The kindness, understanding and compassion of the management staff took some weight off my shoulders in that extremely stressful and costly situation and that goes a long way these days. Thank you so much!

Was given a second room which was quite OK but seriously needed updates. When compared with the many Holiday Inn Express, this was the worst. The pro was no parking fee but had to put up to the bad traffic congestion everyday. Server at the breakfast place was pretty rude. With their price & no parking fee, it was still tolerable. But with other same chain hotels or other hotels in the area's consistent updating their facilities & competitive price., don't see any reason that need to stay again especially the area seemed more unsafe every time stayed.

The room appeared clean, I did notice the next morning at breakfast that one of the recessed lights in dining area was leaking water but i noticed later in the day that was cleared up. Maintenance took care of it. The only issue I had was the water pressure in the bathroom sink was quite low.

Great location in Atlanta just off the interstate. Easy to get in and out of area. Starbucks nearby. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable! We stayed one night to go to an event the next day.

Pretty standard holiday inn. Relatively clean, staff was friendly, breakfast included, free parking. My only complaint is that the key card readers were kind of a hit or miss if they’d work, it often took a few tries to get into our room

In dire need of maintenance and updates. The beds are tiny and horribly uncomfortable. There is room for queens, even the headboard is that size. But maybe if I couldn’t feel the springs the size wouldn’t be so bad. Maybe. Not enough hooks for towels or purses or bags or jackets etc. Newer HIE properties are way better.

Parking parking was the biggest issue by time we got there. I guess several contractors came in already took all the larger parking spots. Made it hard to park just in general. They had semis in the parking lot. They had the people with jacked up vehicles that couldn't park so parking was very limited and tight

It would have been helpful if the hotel informed us that there was only one working elevator. Otherwise the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was very good and the location was excellent.

The overall quality of the hotel was good. There was plenty of parking, close to a walking trail, stores, and restaurants. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The room wasn't the best but it was good for the one night I stayed. It did have a microwave and refrigerator which was a plus. The shower was very small and the water pressure wasn't that great. The staff was above and beyond kind and amazing. The room was very clean and the housekeeping very efficient. The hotel environment was very quiet, nice and calm. The bed sheets so soft and the pillows perfect. They offer cribs for the guest that has babies. Honestly our family experience was amazing in every aspect. This hotel is super budget friendly for what they offer. I would definitely recommend this hotel and I would definitely come back if I have to. 100/10 experience.

I picked this hotel as a solo female traveler because I was arriving late and leaving early with a rental car. The parking lot is well lit and felt safe and I was super pleased with the room and staff!

The staff are all very good and friendly. They will go above and beyond if needed. The hotel is very well maintained. The bathroom is a little small but fine. Don't like the second story garage because it is hard to unload the luggage without two people. At least I found out the area was fine and don't have to worry about leaving the cart until I park.

The rooms are quite dated and my room didn’t have the glass part of the peephole- it just had a hole. The carpet and window dressings were not quite up to Holiday Inn Express standards from other locations I’ve stayed at. The staff was great and the location was great for shopping and eating. The train is within walking distance which was nice and there’s a Target right across the street.

Hot bar was more than adequate and free parking was a huge plus in Atlanta. The hotel was dated, but I will definitely stay there again.

The hotel is within 10 minutes walk from Lindbergh Center MARTA station. The area around the hotel is surrounded by nice restaurants and shopping places that are within the walking distance. There is a MARTA bus stop right next to the hotel that takes you to the Lindbergh station. I found no issues with the neighborhood although I didn't step out after 10 PM. The breakfast at the hotel is really nice. There is free Wi-Fi and is quite fine. Staff is friendly and the room was cleaned every single day during my stay. While I didn't drive each time I stayed here, I found a big parking lot.

We enjoyed the breakfast -- nice variety of hot and cold foods. We stayed 3 nights. The room was very small (we were two people). Not much room to unpack and hang up clothes, etc. Little annoyances -- like no ice in the ice machine (we were next door). It needed attention (looked like a cleaning) and although I brought it to the attention of the front office staff, nothing was done the whole time we were there. Shower was broken the second morning, although that was fixed quickly so it didn't interfere with our plans. We did use the gym and there was no water in the dispenser the whole time we were there. (Tap water was not palatable). I realize things can happen, but you would think that things would be corrected (esp. if brought to their attention), and it seemed these would have been a relative quick fix. As we were visiting family, the location wasn't the greatest for our purposes -- all things considered, this will not be my first choice of hotel in future.

Easy check-in, frienndly night staff. Lots of options for breakfast, reliable and fast wifi, excellent location, parking on-site. Rooms could be cleaner and definitely need modern upgrades (eg, sound machines, streaming services on TVs). Staff should inform guests of cleaning services upfront (maids cleaned room while I was away and that was uncomfortable to come back to).

The hotel is outdated and sink and toilet needs maintenance as water goes down slow and toilet handle doesn’t work properly. The swimming pool is close for month. When I called the hotel prior to booking this was not disclosed, my child wanted to swim and the guest service has attitude. Breakfast was good but closes early and on time!

Had nothing but problems the entire stay but the staff wad good

The cleaning staff was great. Our TV didn’t work. The toilet seat wasn’t completely fastened down. Our room keys had to be redone multiple times because they didn’t work. It was obvious that the night desk staff were not happy about being there.

Plenty of parking, fairly fast check-in, room ok, shower tray didn't look the cleanest but ok for our night stay. Breakfast ok, good selection.

I stay there every quarter. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. I forgot a toothbrush this time, and they pulled one out of the drawer for me. Pancake machine was not working for breakfast, but they did have some pancakes wrapped in saran wrap. The food otherwise was great, including bacon, cinnamon rolls, orange juice, and milk. The only real complaint I have is with the room access system. The card readers seem to be aging and over the past year or so I’ve had challenges with that mechanism. Otherwise, an excellent value for the recurring meetings I have in this area of Atlanta.

Gentlemen that was working the front desk when i checked in was amazing! Very friendly - explained everything to me in full. More companies need employees like this gentleman and need to encourage other staff to work just like him

- The hotel advertises a hot breakfast until 9:30 AM during the week. We came down for breakfast at 9 AM, 30 minutes before breakfast ends. The hotel was full, so the breakfast room was full with people battling to get to the buffet. I got a coffee and sat down at my table and waited till approximately 9:10 when the crowd had cleared. Several other people had done the same. The hot breakfast bar had been reduced to nothing but biscuits and fried potatoes. The gravy, sausage, bacon, and scrambled eggs were all gone. I inquired of the staff member filling the buffet and she blankly told me “no.” I went to the front desk, who stared at me like deer in headlights and said that they were going to inform the manager. Nothing happened. Total disregard for the hospitality of their guests. The breakfast room had at least a dozen people waiting to get the hot breakfast for which they paid. Not only was nothing replaced, but at approximately 9:20 the staff picked up all the chaffing dishes and carried them to the back. And again the front desk staff said had notified the manager, to no avail. At approximately 9:25 there was a family of four with two children, looking for the hot breakfast for which they had paid and is posted until 930, and they were handed a bag of bread to make toast for the kids. I wish I had had a camera. It would’ve been a National Geographic quality photograph.

The rooms were comfortable and the staff was really nice. The free Breakfast was really good, The water from the fountain downstairs was good and they offered free coffee all day. The location was good too, not too far from all the places we visited while there.

Staff did not seem professional upon arrival. Lots of chatting, not understanding how to enter info,. When we came back, we were given a room that turned out not to have been cleaned. Next room had made beds, at least, but not well vacuumed. Pancake maker out of service.

Everything was good at the facility with the exception of Expedia messing up and not booking both rooms only one who was booked when it showed clearly on my itinerary two rooms at the hotel they did not have that information spoke to somebody on the phone, but didn’t speak very good English English and it took over 45 minutes of this resolved

The facility is beautiful but worn. The couch in our room had tears and the freezer compartment in the refrigerator was broken. Someone had to come replace a shower head because it wouldn’t turn off and the cabinets were damaged. Just needs some TLC. Everything else was great.

Convenient, budget friendly and friendly professional staff. Overall the facility, even with facility age related wear and tear, seemed well kept and maintained. We felt comfortable and safe. Nothing major to complain about. Maybe a few minor things could be tweaked here and there as it is an aging property. Like fixing or replacing loose toilet flush knobs or wobbly door safety latches that maybe wearing out (not the deadbolts, the screw on the door jam latches). All functional but well worn. Also more frequent deep cleanings in the common areas and halls, especially the carpets, would make it feel fresher.

This hotel is such a great pick if in Buckhead. They are great with children. They would give the kids a treat sometimes. The rooms are nice. The beds are very comfortable. If in the area again my family will definitely stay again.

The staff was friendly and welcoming, the beds were very comfortable, and the breakfast selection was fabulous! The only downside was that the vanity is outside of the shower and toilet area, which makes it hard to get ready when someone is still sleeping. Would highly recommend the hotel!

My stay was not that great the hotel had to cut the water off in the whole hotel for repairs. I had to leave for a few hours. That was and inconvenient . I wasn’t offer anything for the inconvenience.Then it was noise in the wall . They sent someone up . He service person couldn’t fix it !

Worked for what we needed, which was a short stay. Hotel definitely shows it's age, but the room was fine and what you'd expect from a Holiday Inn Express. Staff was all very courteous and friendly. Would stay again.

The Staff was very Polite and the fitness center was good !! The breakfest was Awesome!!! There was one issue that i was not fond of was the keys kept going out and i was coming in pretty late and i had to walk all the way around to the front pffice to program my key other than that it was nice.

Check-in was also awkward. The front desk associate did not greet me at all, and only engaged after I asked how she was doing. Another coworker stepped in shortly after, and it seemed like the first person may have been on break. I chose this hotel strictly for proximity because I needed to be nearby early in the morning, but the photos were definitely misleading compared to the actual condition and feel of the property. I travel often all over the world and rarely leave feedback like this, but I genuinely would not have booked if I had known.

The room was clean. Nicely decorated. Two issues prevented a five star rating. The mattress sagged and was uncomfortable. I kept rolling into my husband and the a/c system didn’t work well and the room remained too warm.

This place has the absolute best & most helpul staff of any place I’ve ever stayed. Mrs Tee (the manager) is never level amazing. We had issues that had nothing to do with the hotel for part of my fighter’s wedding and she stepped up to make a room available for us last minute which saved the day.

I went up for my son’s surgery, but due to foreseen circumstances they couldn’t do it! My son nurse called and explained to the Buckhead location and they cancelled my reservation and didn’t penalize me. I’m so grateful. We live over 3 hours away so we just went home after his visit! I really appreciate you and the nurse said the male was so kind and understanding.

Very clean hotel. The front desk gentlemen were so helpful and kind. Building could use a update and the beds were smaller then normal.

The shower head was broken and not in use. The safe in which we had our valuable received the items but did not open again when checking out. No one in the hotel was available to remedy the situation. We then had to leave for the airport without being able to get our stuff in the safe. We are now at the mercy of the hotel management to retrieve and send our valuables. It is so irresponsible of the hotel not to have someone who would know how to get our stuff from a defective safe in the room. TERRIBLE HOTEL ALL THE WAY AROUND.

The facilities were unkept. The room still had hair on the bathroom floor from previous guests. A previously set alarm clock woke us up at 6:00 am the first night of our stay and then the following nights after we were woken up by a loud and ignorant guest in the hallway playing loud sounds on his phone and talking aloud. Would not recommend to this establishment to anyone and will not ever stay here again.

The description match what you got. The room is clean and small and bed is comfy. The fitness is very small: one treadmill and one other exercise machine. The breakfast was not much to write about. Enjoy the stay! Good value for 118 dollars.

I must give Holiday Inn Atlanta – Buckhead a five-star review for their kindness, understanding, and genuine hospitality. We had just taken an overnight flight from Los Angeles to Atlanta, landing around 6:00 a.m. Exhausted, we came to the front desk with little expectation, simply hoping to ask whether early check-in might be possible. Although we arrived far earlier than the standard check-in time, the Operations Manager, Ms. Tee Carter, welcomed us warmly. She kindly explained that it was still too early, but invited us to enjoy breakfast while waiting, and assured us that she would arrange check-in as soon as a room became available after another guest checked out. Outside, the cold wind was blowing and fallen leaves covered the ground, making the morning feel especially bleak. Inside, however, Ms. Tee’s warmth and the hotel’s hot breakfast made us feel genuinely comforted and cared for. Her thoughtfulness turned an exhausting morning into a truly memorable and heartwarming experience. I sincerely hope anyone reading this review will choose to stay here, experience the kindness shared by the staff, and help pass that goodwill along.

Property was clean but a bit dated.

I was so glad to see a Udi's Gluten free blueberry muffin for breakfast. Not many places ever have options for me. It's just a muffin but it is the world to someone who has restrictions.

The room was not what I expected from a Holiday Inn.

Had a problem with my key card the whole 2 days I was there. Could not get back in once the doors was locked and the front desk attendant was very rude. I called her from the phone and explain to her my key card was not working . First of all it took her a minute to come to the phone assume she was asleep because u could tell by looking at her face. Once in I asked her if I could have 2 cards. She didn't say anything she made a jester and gave me 2 new cards and then said not in a friendly voice she said put the old one in the box. The next day the same thing happened to me with my key cards. Then I asked for a late check I enformer the attendant that I was a Hilton member I thought members get a late checkout at like 2:00 like a 2 hour late check out if they ask for it well she only gave me an hour for late check out. I think that I should be given 2 free days to use when need since my 2 days there was very pleasant. Then on the deposit that should have gone back to my banking account they were trying to charge me $100 instead of processing it back to my account I just happened to look at my account on 12 1 and so where they were trying to charge me $100 I called customer service and they saw it I said I checked out on the 27th I'm not even there at the hotel and they trying to charge me like I was there on the 12/1/2025 $100. The CSR said the hotel would contact me with 12-48 hours No one every called me.

The staff was lovely, but the property is older and in need of repairs. The bathroom door was an old sliding pocket door and never closed fully, which is not ideal in such a small room.

We stay at this Holiday Inn almost every time we come to Atlanta to pick our daughter up from SCAD and it’s always, clean, easy to park at, and has friendly staff. We will continue to use them and enjoy our stay.

Best staff in town

Front desk will not give you a wake-up call when they need one themselves- sleeping in the office and assisting guests with drool. Stephanie at front desk lacks professionalism and should not be working with the public. The general manager needs to hire better employees. The owner needs to make sure his employees are assets rather than liabilities. I travel a lot for work, this is the most ghetto Holiday Inn.

The room was clean, but the noise was a bit of a problem. You could hear the cars on the street and everything happening on the hallway. So, if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to think twice about staying here.

The room itself felt a little aged in certain spots, but service and breaskfast were exceptional. The bed and pillows (plenty of them) was a very nice touch. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful.

the room was clean and the bed was reasonably comfortable. the hotel is conveniently close to a marta station with a parking garage. the morning desk attendant was very helpful in directing us through rush hour traffic with little delay. extra kudos to her.

Every thing was clean. I had to come to do some scans and test at Piedmont so wasn’t able to eat anything due to that.

The staff was so kind and helpful. Our room was always cleaned and fresh towels for the ready. When they said breakfast included, Big breakfast everything you can think of. I travel a lot and never had breakfast like this. Free parking on premises. I highly recommend this Hotel. From now on the his is where I will stay when I'm in ATL.

The bed and bedding were super perfect. Fridge, microwave, and Keurig. Mostly clean- floor could have been vacuumed a bit better. Adequate outlets for charging devices- even if no USB-A or C. Free parking. Definitely worn, but, quite satisfied given the price. Two persons working the check in line and another lady came up to help as well. Much better than some places I have been.

I was sleeping and a roach crawled across my face . This has made my nerves so bad that I was unable to fall asleep the rest of my stay even when I was assigned another room the next one I couldn’t get into because the door wouldn’t unlock so another room was assigned! This is one of the most unpleasant stays I’ve experienced! My nerves are still very bad and I feel so disgusted! Please allow sum compassion for compensation. Thanks!

Peking entrance to hotel door was broken I am handicapped and had to walked down stairs to get to my car which is hard to do and took 20 min to get down stairs each time i had to return to hotel, king bed had a very large dip in the middle and made very loud cracking sounds each move i made.

I stay here every time I visit my daughter who is in college. I usually reserve the king suite. This time the room shower did not work. Since it was a suite, there were 2 shower rooms. And there were ants in both the room and the living area. Breakfast was decent as usual. I will probably try another hotel next visit.

Over night stay with my husband. In town to celebrate our anniversary and see some shows. Staff was friendly and courteous, room was a good size room for us but the bed was way way too soft to get a good nights sleep on. The other complaint was when we returned to the hotel from our evening out at 10:30pm, all of the designed parking spaces were packed because of what looked like a construction company filling up all the space. We complained to the desk clerk about this and he directed us where we could park. He said if we didn’t find a place he would give up his parking space for us

The rooms were clean. They made my bed and swapped my towels everyday. The breakfast was amazing: two types of meat, eggs or omelets, biscuit and gravy, potatoes everyday.

We were in town for our Cousins Reunion. 4 nights. Lots of U turns to get back and forth from Target and QT across the street. Plenty of restaurants in the area. Enjoyed the stay.

The entire staff was so nice and friendly. The bed was comfortable. Even though the hotel was packed the weekend we visited there wasn't excess noise. It is a little tricky getting in and out off because you can onlu turn way way in but not that big of a deal. It was close enough to major events we could take a Lyft for convenience and not have to drive in all the traffic ourselves.

Albeit the staff were friendly and accommodating, the property itself deserves work. My key card did not work half the time I was there, the televisions cable was not accurate with is channels, the air was OK. the ice machine on my floor didn't work, and in general the property was old and needs updating

I liked the overall quietness of the location and room. It is conveniently located near food, shopping, and the highway.

Bed is not level, had squeaking sound, bed frame need to be replaced. I’m short but shower head is almost as my height.

Included laundry mat is a plus. Free Breakfast is delicious! A few dining options and shopping spots within a couple miles without having to access the interstate.

I would probably give it 4.5 stars if possible. Overall it was good, nothing over the top great, but nothing bad. We had to check in late (a little after 1am), and the doors were locked and no one was as the front desk, so that would probably be my only complaint. But the free breakfast was great.

Check in was quick but impersonal. Rooms are in need of a major upgrade. Carpets worn and painting needs to be done drastically. Bed was soft and saggy. TV was adequate and ice machine worked on the floor above us. Plenty of hot water and internet worked well. Neighborhood is not safe. Police were in the hotel looking for some men.

The staff at this hotel are nice, friendly, and professional. However, this facility is outdated and the carpet is very worn. The area of this location is great. It is close to shopping centers and restaurants, but it needs an upgrade for my ATL experience to really be a 5 star. Also, the pool area is great. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the hotel is questionable in my option because the room was so outdated it was difficult to tell. :(

Our stay was great! The room was nice and the A/C was quiet. We enjoyed our free breakfast every morning and thought the food was good. The selections varied daily which was nice and was items were kept stocked through out the designated breakfast time. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. The location is near the Marta station which is great for getting to and from the airport. Also, parking is free and there are ample places to park. We felt secure parking our rental car there. I would definitely stay again!

The breakfast was excellent. Good variety and they actually have gluten-free muffins! As someone with a wheat allergy who has *never* found GF muffins or other GF baked goods at a hotel breakfast, I was very pleasantly surprised by that. The room I got doesn't match the description on Expedia. The room is approximately 300 square feet or less. However, the Expedia description states: "400 square feet" and features a picture of an additional sofa and sitting area. The front desk said that's the room I booked, and they don't know why Expedia showed misleading images and descriptions. The location was not the most convenience for me and I booked this hotel specifically for the claimed large room. Very disappointed.

Me and my friend went for a quick trip and it was amazing the hotel and staff were so helpful my friend had a interview before the check in time and they let her stay there and do the interview while we waited, and the cleaning staff was super nice, we definetely stay here if we get to come back to atlanta.

The room was so tiny. The bathroom door was a sliding door so no privacy. It had two double beds instead of queen and they were so uncomfortable. No one in our group got a good nights rest. We ended up leaving at 5am. The room was clean and the lady at check in was friendly. Honestly thats the only good thing it had going for it. We were so disappointed.

The bed was so comfortable, cleanliness of my room every time I left and the friendliness of the staff made my solo ATL trip exceptional. After long days in orientation with my son’s college, coming back to the Holiday Inn was a relief because I was greeted so warmly and my room felt like home.

I like that it was comfortable. The floor staff was wonderful. I didn't like that I could not check in early after working all day the day before and then driving twelve hours to get there. They could have made an exception. After all, we check in at 3 and have to checkout at 11. Seems like we make exceptions. They could do a little touchups. My sister door did not properly work, the bathroom door was not on the track so she could not close it, little paint details. The elevators had issues, which makes it a little scary. Seems like when you roll out of the bed, you roll into the bathroom. Very close quarters. Just minor details to upgrade the place. It seems like a lot of complaining but overall, I was comfortable and it was nice. I may be still angry that they would not let me check in at least about 1. I had been working all week.

Breakfast was good. Rooms way too small for comfort! 2 full beds. Both my kids could barely fit in a bed comfortable. Shower stall with toilet was separate from the bathroom sink which was constantly leaking. The shower stall was roomy, but nowhere to put your bath items, ex. Soap, rag, shampoo & conditioner. The hallways were warm and halls dingy; it could definitely use an update. First time we opened our room door there was a strong chemical odor. Not sure if it was a cleaner or insecticide. There was maybe 2 ft of floor space between the bed and the table where TV was. Beds were very comfortable but rooms way too cramped for more than a few hours of stay. Area/location was pleasant.
