Front door kept propped open at night with no security - soiled sheets stained with brown spots cigaret holes and hard clumps inside- one person staff - toilet flooded I was forced to clean up with towels and small kitchen mop- janitor came in plunged the toilet then left without fixing the issue then handed me a mop to clean - was so loud in the hallway every night you could hear everything if someone knocked on the door next to you even 2 doors down it was as if they knocked on your door - one night someone entered my room noticed me in the bed and I must me in the wrong room then left- no ice machine - felt more like a homeless shelter than a hotel. On the positive they did let me check out late and the air conditioning worked great. I felt bad for the one guy on staff because he seemed like he meant well but just over worked and under staffed.

Not recommended at all very unsanitary and a lot of traffic around

Arrived at the hotel and saw a tall person in a short red dress strolling up and down outside the reception. She pointed out (in a fairly deep voice) where the night window was. I rang and after several minutes someone came. Check in took several minutes while he arranged a room for me - he sent me to a neighbouring motel 200m or so down the road. I assume the owners have two (or more) hotels and it is luck as to which one you get. Room was OK. Rather shabby, but nothing really wrong with it. Would have been nice to have a microwave oven or at least a kettle to boil water in. Internet didn't work.

Location very sketchy. TV & phone hooked up but didn’t work. Door dead bolt didn’t lock. Smoke alarm missing. Very loud neighbors and dogs across hall ALL THRU NIGHT and no phone to call front desk. Desk clerk friendly but spoke no English.

Check in was a bit suspicious wanted it pay with a credit card, they wanted cash, check in was me talking to the manager on a cell phone, cash was given to the person covering the desk. Over charged $15 (no change available. Room was probably worse room ever! I will never stay at a HOWARD JOHNSON again.

No staff available most often. Had to wait for staff to open the office for check in. The surroundings, parking, hallways, stairs are dirty. Tiles in the bathroom were cracked. Noisy AC/Heater. Door entrance handle needs repair. No cups available for the coffee maker. Microwave was dirty and need repair. Drawers were dirty...
- 1/5
To start they didn't have the room I reserved. Second the room they gave me had a broken TV no remote and the room had not been recently cleaned. We had fake eyelashes left on the night stand, a used tooth brush by the AC, and the bathtub had green mold so I had to put a towel on the tub floor to shower.

Absolutely nothing about this place was good. Did not like a single thing. We were there less than 30 minutes before grabbing our stuff and literally running out of there to a different hotel. Everything!!!! This place was horrible. We had booked 3 rooms. It was a fire hazard. No smoke alarms, cords to heaters were sliced and spliced together with electrical tape and looked like they have caught fire before. Everything was dirty. The white sheets were no longer white and so dirty and nasty. The TVs had no power cords, bathrooms had no toilet paper. The sink drains were missing and the pipes under were bad so water just poured through the sink to the floor. The toilet was so disgusting I was not about to touch it. The guy at the front desk kept trying to force me to pay cash and I kept telling him I only had card he kept insisting. So glad I didn't so that I could get a refund, because we lasted barely 30 minutes before leaving and finding somewhere else way better!! The drawers in all 3 rooms were full of random stuff, all brand new. Guessing the hotel was used to fence stolen items and sell drugs.

This property is us horrible. As soon as i pull into this property there are guys using drugs in the parking lot. I had a reservation so i walked in and the guy at the desk has to call the manager to check me in with a reservation. They than ask for cash only deposit for room because there credit card machine doesnt work which was sketchy to me. I declined and they waived the deposit and give me a room key. As I'm walking to the room another guy is walking down the hallway using drugs. I open the door to the room and it was dirty cracked tiles in the bathroom stained dirt in the shower. I walk back to the front desk and ask to have my room canceled. The guy calls the manager and he agrees, but never canceled the room or refunded my reservation. I would definitely stay away from this property feels unsafe and sketchy

So the add references a jacuzzi sweet for about 69 a night. However, they put you in a king size bed room. That's it. They call it the king suite. Howard Johnson is like an overpriced motel 6. Do not rent at this location, they freaking front desk guy called his boss and spoke in some forgein language to his boss. Then the boss Sked for me to get on the call, and over the phone he told me a different price, and 200 dollar deposit. I had to argue just to get the price the reservation said and then inside the room half the plugs didn't work, and NO HOT TUB

2. He has the motel set up as an apartment building of rooms moreso than having it be welcoming to guests. It's constantly noisy in hallways and neighboring rooms with shared thin doors and thin walls, lived in by homeless families with loud past midnight disrespectful kid's constantly banging on and kicking the walls next to you and stomping and running on the ceilings above you. He clearly does not consider his paying guests because he doesn't tell the tenants to stop those disruptive disturbances once paying guests check in. The kids cuss their mother out and each other in between blowing up air mattresses and keeping up the noises mentioned here above. Even after suffering through it 24/7 for days and you finally go ahead and report it to staff who says he'll tell them to stop....they CONTINUE. Early morning through late night. And the kids even cuss you out through the wall if you bang back in hopes that they'll stop banging. They're on social media calling people the 'N' racial slur word, they're bouncing balls against your other wall, they're loud talking in the echo-ridden hallways of constant opening

The staff were OK not very attentive a little in La La Land or sleeping most of the morning. The room had to be changed because it was filthy nasty and when I got in the other room the television and didn’t even work. But there are new starting hotel. I barely have good enough floors to be running, but they’re trying to work. And for the parking lot, I guess the flooring is OK but the rest of it was just hookers and people that were homeless trying to fix their cars. It was so unsafe but I knew I could get a head. Even the manager got sexual favors most of the times.

as soon as I parked to check in, I didn't even get out of the car. it looked like a homeless reunion going into hotel. some guys was hammering something in his car or doing mechanics. two other ones were smoking who know what and to top it off saw a lady in a hurry putting her stuff in her car leaving like there's no tomorrow. I did not feel safe to stay there. Sorry to say but the Wyndham name has a reputation but this wasn't It to say the least.

Ghetto place. Homelessness. Room TV no signal dirty
- 4/5
Really needs deep cleaning. Everything’s really dusty. Need to replace shower heads they’re moldy. Toilets are dirty. Hallways and stairs and floors are dirty. Lots of drug addicts yelling after midnight . Stomping like elephants. Knights inn was super quiet and nice and clean back in the years . Will not be coming here again. Good thing we only got it for one night . We were gonna come since Friday leave Monday morning . God sends us a sign not to. Bye .
- 5/5
Loved it and the owners are wonderful friendly and very nice and willing to accommodate your staying means.
- 0.5/5
I did not like anything about this hotel. The owner is so rude and controlling. Refused to give us towel and soap. The place has resident who stay there and sell drugs. People play loud music throughout the night. Rooms does not have any phones to call
- 1/5
Horrible experience! Homeless people were constantly trying to get into the hotel. There were also people making “transactions” near our room. The bedding was dirty, floors were never cleaned and the bathroom was atrocious. I would never ever ever Stay there again.
- 3/5
Place is just kind of run down and when I got here they wanted a $10 cash deposit.
- 2/5
One towel for 3 people staying in a room $5 to rent a extra towel. Room picture didn't match pictures. T.v older than me. King bed was more like a double. Oh and pictures of room and room description both said and showed a deep soaking tub witch was no where to be found. Staff not helpful or friendly at all
- 0.5/5
They did not have breakfast, they didn't even have coffee. I had two people checked into the room and they only gave one towel. When I asked staff about needing more towels, they said it was motel policy to only give one towel, even with multiple people.
- 1/5
The room was horribke..no proper lights, no shower towels, A/c heating unit was broken and taken apart,, bathrom door wouldnt close, floor carpet filthy, and had a broken window....i will never go there again...

and nobody to make service, bad smell and awfull beds, nothing positive to remember. The price is not adequate for this condition of the hotel, must be much cheeper-not more than 35 dollars per night.
- 1/5
I am a very easy to please traveler. I travel all the time and have stayed in some rough places at times, but I still found positives to share. Not at this place! My wife and I reserved a room. The parking lot was smaller than my driveway at home, and i am in a Uhaul. I was told to park in an abandoned building lot next door, with zero lighting. Once we got in the room, it had one towel and ZERO wash cloths. I asked for more, and was told there are no more wash cloths? What hotel, even a dump, doesn’t have wash cloths? I then asked for at least a second towell (one for me and one for my wife). I was told only one per room is allowed!! WTH kind of service is that??? Someone in the room next door beat and banged stuff all night, the door lock was broken, and in a sketchy part of town. This is unlike me to review any business like this, but if you stay her after this warning, you’re either desperate or crazy.
- 1/5
The property is certainly in need of repairs. The room's carpet is old and worn down to the padding in a couple of areas. It had a unpleasant must/moldy smell that gave me a headache. The refrigerator had ice buildup that had not been taken care of in sometime, and which froze the juice i placed in it overnight. You do not get a full set of towels without extra charge. There were cob webs over the entire window valance, and the entrance door looked as if it had been pried open with a crowbar at some point. The sheets were stained and looked dirty, and quite frankly i think the bed was made without changing them. There was not continental breakfast. I would never stay at this hotel again let alone recommend it. I would give Travelocity a thumbs down for booking the room and for not refunding me the nights i did not stay. It was the worst experience i have ever had.
- 1/5
Complete dump. Paper thin walls. Stained, torn sheets.
- 1/5
Ghetto, rude, unsafe, horrific confitions, would never stay there again! Tv didnt work, knly one dirty towel, 2 guests only one key, when i ask for another they wanted to charge me, extremely rude as well, dirty etc.
- 2/5
Bathroom smelled of urine. No breakfast due to flooded room. TV did not work.
- 1/5
Upon arrival the customer service was terrible...the room was dirty the sheets had holes and burns in them...there was a rat stuck underneath the room door when I was checking out
- 1/5
Ride the lady canceled my reservation aft I asked to view the room! She was rude as soon as I stepped in telling me not to bring a lot of people to the room when it was just I. I told her this trip wasn’t for fun and could I see the rooms she denied me and said I am canceling your reservation I told her not too and she cancelled it anyway!
- 1/5
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Room filthy. Was told by manager “we don’t clean every day”. Only one towel in restroom and it was dirty. Asked for clean one, was told it would cost $5, finally gave me one at no extra charge. Light bulb in only lamp in room blown, I turned it in to office, never received a replacement. I had to buy a bulb myself. Woke up and found roaches in restroom. Disgusting.
- 4/5
I was ok with the place for its price but the area was all bad!
- 1/5
Very dirty not safe very sketchy everything was so dirty
- 1/5
Hotel is not fit to be in business, I paid for a suite and nothing worked in it. The light in the bathroom didn’t work, no shower curtain, no towels, cable didn’t have any cords, staff had to run to other vacant rooms to get the parts, jacuzzi worked but wasn’t any good without a stopper. Stains all over the carpet, cigarette burns in comforter, stains and dirt on the walls. Crime is horrible in hotel and hotel takes no responsibility if your car gets broken into while parked in their parking lot. Overall this hotel was horrible I didn’t enjoy my stay there.
- 1/5
The place needs to be cleaned. The ac unit didn’t have any knobs the refrigerator didn’t have a tempt adjuster the smoke detector was missing. The wall where the bed is has 6 holes above the bed. Electrical outlet covers were broken. The manager wasn’t pleasant at all
- 1/5
Bad !!!! Smell weed all night long, lots of noise!!! Not happy, tv 📺 was broke ,,, room was smelly! ☹️
- 1/5
I wouldn't recommend and i definitely will never stay there again the area isn't how it use to be and the lady that owns the place is very shady i thought i lost my ID i asked her if she had it she said no after i leave my boyfriend said wait call the hotel cause i don't remember her giving your ID back to you so i call giver her my name and everything she said yes i have the ID and i ask her if she can hold on to it and me or my boyfriend will come by and get it then she hangs up without saying anything this hotel was the worst place I've ever stayed at definitely not worth 116 dollars if you stay here make sure you have everything
- 1/5
The room and the place look nothing like the pictures it is horrible the most horrible hotel I’ve ever been in in my life it smells of urine right when you walk in all the way down the hall is the most disgusting place ever
- 3/5
no trash can in room stained towels
- 2/5
They offer no continental breakfast as avertised. The lamp in the room didn't work. There was trash in the nightstand drawer and all around the room on the floor.
- 4/5
I had no idea where to get ice from. But other than that it was ok.
- 1/5
Razor found on the floor. Mess and tissue stuck to the door and walls. SImply the worst hotel experience I've had and yet seem to have 3.5 stars for user ratings? Amazing ... I could not give it a single star.
- 1/5
Absolutely disgusting. Pillows, sheets and towels all stained and dirty. Found a blade on the floor. Dirty walls. No phone in room. No window screen. Bums in parking lot. Dangerous place.
- 1/5
Used condoms in night stand dirty towels no wash clothes no house keeping will never stay again first and last time no privacy
- 1/5
Awful, they wanted to charge a deposit after I paid for the room. I refused to pay and wanted my money back. They refused and an argument ensued which became extremely heated and I refused to leave until they gave me a refund. Instead they called the police who then arrested me for disturbing the peace. I spent the night in jail because of this hotel. If you are reading this, stay away from this place, they are very rude, and will do anything to rip you off.
- 2/5
The bad - All said by other reviewers, but we still tried it for one night. Unsafe, we left to get dinner that evening and returned to two Sheriff cars in the parking lot investigating what seemed to be a break-in. The Wifi Doesn't work. There's no phone in the room. There was black mold growing in the tub and on the shower curtain. There was no breakfast as advertised, not even coffee. We had to turn on the TV to help muzzle out all the neighbors who were talking into the night, but it did quite down about 3am. The wall AC/Heater was about as loud as a 70's ford when it was on.. It took us about 20 minutes to get the TV working. Many stains that seemed were never cleaned, all over the walls. You really get the feeling of being on your own, once it's late evening until about 9 or 10am when the family re-opens the front entrance..
- 2/5
I guess the one thing I liked was the price . Everything else was horrible. Only 1 roll of toilet paper which was more than half done, smelled like CRAP, stains on the bed/floors, eyelashes stuck on the walls, asked for a non-smoking room but still got a smoking room. && don’t get me started on the ladies in the front... HORRIBLE. Never staying here again.
- 1/5
The suite I booked was dirty. The jacuzzi tub started leaking and the carpet got wet. They were able to switch us to another room. Horrible experience I will never go back to that place.
- 2/5
Terrrible cigarette smell in the room. tv didnt work even when i asked for help. Didnt give breakfast as stated on reservation.
- 2/5
I would like to have a clean bed line. There are only one a bar soap and one tube shampoo in a bathroom, no coffee mashine , no tea and no paper cups in room. No braekfast, but it was included.
- 1/5
Very rude and very unprofessional staff. Never again.
- 5/5
😂😁Great!! I would love to call it my second home.
- 1/5
At the time of booking, i saw that there was breakfast available. however there was no breakfast provided.
- 3/5
The place smells like curry. We double paid because Wotif took our money and we also paid over the counter. It took some major talking to get the male staff member to ring up and re emburse us But he did it in the end and all was good
- 1/5
Very bad and old furniture. Vey bad behavior of the staff
- 4/5
No towels when I got there
- 4/5
Parking was away from the rooms and the rooms felt more private.
- 3/5
It was OK. Nice size rooms. On thing is every time you ask for towels they are always washing them. If you come here make sure you have your own towels oh and soap!
- 1/5
The people we met in the local bars were friendly, sadly the hotel staff weren't. We had to ask for towels, when they came there wasn't a hand towel.
- 1/5
What I didn't like was the service by the staff I was refused service because of o guess our appearance it was a very hot day and just walking from a bus stop to the knights inn it was hot. So we appeared maybe sweating the woman at the desk waved us away before we got to the desk told us we didn't have a reservation and then told us to contact expidia to cancel cause she wasn't gonna honor the reservation. Later to find out they let someone else book under our reservation and we were charged.
- 1/5
Looked at room and so bad refused to stay. Neighborhood also made us uncomfortable.
- 4/5
I like that there is limited access to people who don't belong there
- 1/5
Internet did not work. After I called the front desk they kept insisting on entering my room even after I said NO. Then they call me at 10am and 3 times after that to remind me to check out by 11am after I was told I could check out by 12pm. Do not stay here!!!!
- 1/5
It seemed dangerous place with vivid warning messages in the parking lot. Once I was about to take things from my car I could see a lone person in a bike watching me and in a couple of minutes he was back with a couple of other people. I immediately checked out and moved to a different hotel in a couple of miles.
- 1/5
One of the dirtiest, filthiest hotel we have ever stayed in about 15 years and over 20 countries. Big disgusting stains on the carpet, on the mattress, stains and burned hole on the bed sheet, dirty towels that we had to get replaced after we checked in. Surely they did not change or wash those towels after the previous guests, and they were very unfriendly when we asked for other towels. Also when we told them about all these in the morning, the receptionist told us, that nobody has ever complained. We are not very picky, but this was horrible. Three rooms for three couples, all the same.
- 0.5/5
Staff, breakfast was day old coffee and honey bun. Staff never answered the phone. Gave me a room that had someone in it
- 2/5
No tissues. No washcloth. No coffee. No clock. Noisy ventilation.
- 1/5
They had no wash rags in the entire hotel to many people steal them I guess they said, our truck window got broke and 4 bags stolen all my children's clothes horrible hotel
- 1/5
It was awful, the sheets were dirty and when we asked for clean new sheets it was also stained!
- 2/5
The fella who checked us in walked out barefoot from the back room....Completely unprofessional. After checking us in, we walked up to the room here we found the 2 flights of unfinished wood steps (no warning/construction signs). Downstairs smelled like curry while upstairs smelled like marijuana. TV remote did NOT work. We noticed we only got a total of 1 towel in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Súper clean and comfortable for price is good deal
- 2/5
This is a family run business, recently acquired, per the son running the front desk. It is very run down. Some refurbishment is underway. There was a large pile of old toilets out back, nearly completed carpet in the upstairs hallway, old mattresses were being loaded onto the roof of someone's car in the front parking lot to be hauled away, stacks of new molding were waiting in the hallway to be installed. The bathroom was in pretty good shape and clean. The bed was comfortable. The carpet in the room and downstairs was worn out and stained. The desk chair in the bedroom was broken. No screen in the window, no bulbs in the lamp. Room service was not performed one morning. The only thing this property has going for it at the moment is that it's cheap. Hopefully it improves over time under new ownership and management. FYI, there is no elevator to the second floor. The office is closed in the early morning and late evenings with a night bell.
- 1/5
It was the most nastiest place ever I have not had a more unkept place such as this one
- 1/5
They do not deserve the amount of $54.99 for one night. Hotel floors were not clean.Room heater did not work great. No hair dryer, no extra towels provided, Lighting conditions were not great. Breakfast was not at all good, they just provided milk and Kellog's Froot Loops. Never ever go to this place. No wifi password details were provided at check in. Reached late so never bothered to ask one. But these are basic minimum things thats been published on the website . A big NOoooooooooo from my side for any Knights Inn chain hotels.
- 4/5
Its was just what i needed at a cost i can afford, Tha rooms were spacious quiet and clean the only thing they lacked was an elevator for the sec floor.Other than that i got a good nights rest.
- 5/5
Great hotel would come here it was a comfortable.
- 1/5
They charged my card and told me my card wa declined
- 5/5
Stayed several times with them. I would defiantly ecommend.
- 5/5
Not only weee they polite and helpful but kind and compassionate as well
- 3/5
You get what you pay for. Period. Even then, the breakfast was a joke (only serials and dollar store worthy pastries... nothing else). But the place is close to the freeway, so if you simply need it for the night, it should be ok.
- 2/5
Police banging on doors at midnight looking for someone. Starting at 4:30 in the morning loud music playing for two hours and hotel should have made them stop. Glad to check out and not come back
- 1/5
Staff very pleasant and accommodating. Hotel was absolutely filthy. I would not stay there again or recommend anyone stay there. The Board of Health needs to come in and condemn the place.
- 1/5
BEYOND DISRESPECTFUL STAFF DIDNT STAY. Don’t waist your money on this crap.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with good price. We booked two rooms and they are very Clean room and convenient location. Friendly staffs!
- 1/5
Needed a room close to a funeral I attended and the only good thing about it. Smelled bad, towels in bathroom looked like they used them as mops had stains on them (don’t think they take pride on customer service). There was a drug deal going down there as well. One great thing is that the hotel manager or owner asked me to move my car to the handicap spot so that he can keep an eye on it. Big red flag but since I don’t know the area and it was late at night, and only staying one night I just sucked it up and stayed there. I don’t like writing bad reviews but want the knights inn people to know that I was truly scared staying there... I had my elderly aunts and mom with me and was scared for them as well.
- 2/5
I was very disappointed in the Hotel. First the check in was at 2pm. Not a problem but I had to wait until almost 3pm. I arrived a little after 11am and at that time they said their staff wasn't even on duty. I didn't expect this to be a high class place but how about the basics. After being there for 3 days I had yet to receive any maid service. Now being out of toilet paper and needing fresh towels and had to go to the front desk and ask for maid service and toilet paper. Other problems included hookers hanging around ( I was solicited 3 times) and tweakers coming in and out at all times of day and night. I had the misfortune of being by the stairwell and could hear the doors open and close very frequently. Also I had to ask for a clothing iron because there wasn't one in the room. Not a big deal but there was only one iron for the hotel so as soon as I got it and started to iron my clothes the manager was knocking on my door asking for it back so someone else could use it. I ended up going to Walmart and buying a $10 iron for my own use. Then there is the room. It smelled heavily of cigarette smoke even thought it was a non-smoking room. There were stains on the floor, small holes in the walls and bare wired in the lamp plugs. I was shocked while trying to plug one in. There were other issues but this sums it up. I will never stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone.

I was down here for work and stayed here numerous occasions however never again. I was tormented by thugs who broke into my car and after I asked hotel staff to review the tapes he said no. The next the manager and I reviewed the tapes however there was 45 minutes that was deleted. Well the entire night I was harassed and threatened. I will never stay here again

The following morning before leaving for breakfast I informed the staff that I had another family member coming into town and asked if they'd have a room. One of the reasons given for not having a room ready was because they had no maid. They had previously told my parents they had to take their towels to the laundry room for a one for one exchange. So they said they can have a room and I asked them to please call me as soon as they do. He said he'd call in 30 minutes. We were all in town for a memorial service, and I called throughout the day, about 4 times, no answer and no returned call. It was an extremely dissapointing experience.

Went in to check in at 2pm and was told the rooms were still in the process of cleaning and wasn't ready til 3pm after a 5hr drive all we wanted to do was take a rest but instead we had to wait. Room was dirty and smelled like dead rats in there

The hotel was dirty, stained bedding, grey and stained white towels, wrinkled bed skirt and sheer drapes, dirty carpet, broken and dirty desk chair. The breakfast area was small with cereal and juice only. No view. No cleaning or making of the bed during our 4-night stay. It's ok for one night, but no more. Hotel has the potential to be good if management puts some effort in it. It has nice beds and an LCD TV, and it is walking distance to Valley Plaza mall. The breakfast offerings could be improved as well.

I have stayed here about 7 or 8 times as i travel for a living. They will give you anything you need here with a smile. I have stayed in every place in Bakersfield as this is a mid stop between destinations. The rooms seem bigger and cleaner and they are super quiet. The same man is always working the front desk and is super helpful with a smile. 1st time i booked this about a year ago with expedia there was a glitch. It booked me a month away instead of the same night. He fixed it. I like this place and it's definitely best in price range by far.

It was a cheap hotel that I just stayed at for the night. The price was great. Reviews on yelp said they had bed bugs so I did a full sweep of the room but didn't find any. There was however leftover food crumbs and bottles. The room could have been cleaned better. The place also had a weird smell but hey, you get what you pay for and it got the job done. The staff was also really nice.
