Reviews
The hotel reviews are mixed, with guests appreciating the friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, and convenient location. However, there are consistent complaints about the breakfast, outdated facilities, and issues with room cleanliness and maintenance.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days while visiting Chicago for a Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition, and we had a very good experience. The hotel staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful during our stay. But we especially want to thank Ella at the front desk for her incredible help and kindness. After checking out, we accidentally left our performance costumes in the room and only realized it later that evening. These costumes are very expensive and extremely important to us. We called the hotel right away, and Ella was so helpful and understanding. She stayed in contact with us by phone and made sure our friends were able to pick everything up safely. Our costumes were returned to us in perfect condition, and we are truly grateful for her care and attention. Thank you again to Ella and the entire hotel staff for your kindness, professionalism, and outstanding customer service. It meant so much to us, especially during such an important trip.

The hotel could not locate my reservation I made through Hotels.com - even after providing my phone with the confirmation email notification. Once we checked in after 45 minutes of an ordeal we checked into a filthy room that stunk. Floor and towels were not cleaned and the carpet had black stains on it. The mattress was worn out and sank and the sheets and covers stunk. Horrible experience! The breakfast was disappointing! We will never stay in a residence property again!

The area was good, the hotel amenities could have been better as in the app there is no pool they should probably take that off the app. We just wanted to get away and go swimming we were disappointed. We had a two bedroom suite with kitchen which was nice

Breakfast was good the kitchen lady was so nice

Large, clean room. Nice space. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Good location, easy to get around the area. The hotel was busy, but very quiet. The gym is basic (3 machines) and pretty tight if you want to use weights. Breakfast was ok, not stocked as well as some others, but ample.

The property is an older one, that could use an upgrade but it was decent. The room I received did have candy in the bedroom and living room from the last person. There was deep indents in the carpet from maybe a dog? Old water damage on the walls from maybe a overflow on the room above us. Stains on the couch and big cracks on the door too. Housekeeping could have done better. Overall the best part was the customer service and free breakfast too. I was here for business trip 2 weeks.

Had to get a new room because the first one was horrible, stove light didn't work, stove fan didn't work, no heat. Got a new room and the Heat didn't work in the bedroom so it was freezing during the day but worked somewhat at night. Dog poop all over the place. It's a damn shame you have to pay $12 a night did parking when you're already paying what you pay to stay there. Can't comment on breakfast cause i didn't eat it. Checking in and out was easy and they were nice but i definitely wouldn't stay here again

The room was clean, well-appointed, and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, with a good selection.

Staff, location, cleanliness Food and facility maintenance. My room had a damaged, non-working gas fireplace, plugged sink in a smaller room bathroom. The heating system did not warm up the smaller bedroom

Great breakfast. Full kitchen. Even made Thanksgiving dinner in our room!
- 4/5
Great friendly staff that went out of their way to assist. Clean quiet room. Nice to have a separate bedroom and a kitchen area. Highly recommend!

Clean ,modern , nice

Wasn't given the right room, the room was right next to a patio where loud guests disrupted quiet nights. And when there was no one out there, the hotel plays music around the patio that is easily heard when youre trying to sleep, extremely aggravating. The only plus side of my stay was check out day
- 3/5
dated hotel, utensils need maintenance, I was without a dishwasher for 5 days.
- 3/5
The Jacuzzi tub jets were very dirty, There was metal garden edging sticking up out of the area were the rocks are.

Worse experience in my 10 years of being a Bonvoy Member. My family & I were treated the worse we've ever experienced. The 1st room we were checked into the pull out bed was filthy & the thermostat was stuck on 82 degrees. We had to pack all of our things & move another room we were "upgraded" to. The 2nd room we were checked into had a broken television, broken curtain rod, broken toilet tissue holder, & the refrigerator was not holding temperature. The staff than tried to move us into a room that held an odor, a clear indication that it was unsanitary and unclean. The smell was in the furniture, curtains, bedding etc. I refused that room for my family's comfort & safety. We were than told by the staff that they already "upgraded" us (into a room that should've never been rented) so they couldn't keep switching our room. Being that the refrigerator was broken my family had to trash a weeks worth of food, & more importantly my diabetic mothers 2 week insulin supply had to be repurchased. Outside of fixing what should've already been fixed in the room prior to our check in we weren't compensated for our loss in any way. No an apology, not any assistance with helping us move our things in any way. Upon finally just checking out to go to another hotel the General Manager (in training) than proceeded to harrass my family as we were trying to load two luggage carts worth of our belongings, I was falsely accused of being rude to the house keeping staff whom I never interacted with.

Small, not overly crowded. Everything was exceptionally neat and clean. The staff were amazing!
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean, beds comfortable, good TVs. Curtains very good at keeping rooms dark. Excellent shower, thought the curtain rod needs adjustment and the mollies are slightly pulling out. Breakfast was very nice. Thanks

I usually do not do reviews but my front desk experience was so awesome, I feel the need to give praise. The lady at the front desk was amazing. So friendly and welcoming. I stay in hotels a lot and this experience stood out in a positive way. The room was great, comfortable bedding, nice shower, and quiet. I would stay here again
- 5/5
The hotel was comfortable and clean. The staff was nice. Breakfast was great!! We stopped for 1 night on the way to the Lions Packers game. Would stay again.
- 5/5
Great hotel and highly recommended…clean, quiet, has everything you need!
- 5/5
It was a relaxing place to stay.
- 4/5
It needs updating. A little dark on first floor due to tree coverage. Some utensils etc missing in kitchen. Staff very helpful!
- 5/5
Nice place. Close to shopping district
- 3/5
On what was happening stayed on about An hour then went off. Still buzzing could hear it in the room. Did i mention it was 2:30 in the morning. Also tv had no signal front desk was Really no help! Breakfast was good. Thank you
- 5/5
My room was very clean when i checked in, got a mid-week cleaning for my whole week stay and it was great. Appreciated the staff friendliness and quick check-in. Will use again on my future trips to the area.
- 3/5
Somewhat convenient for the kitchen aspect. Stayed for 5 nights...midweek was told that the hot water would be off for 8 hours (given notice 30 minutes before it turned off). There actually was NO water for about 3 hours, no hot water for that entire period. Would have been nice for a heads up or some type of compensation.

Overall I rated this property as average and I would stay again only because the location is ideal for my needs and I liked the space in the room. The fireplace was definitely an added bonus for this Florida girl in chilly Chicago! Unfortunately during my 6 night stay my room was only serviced ONCE! I was told upon check-in service was every other day which I was fine with. I was at the front counter daily after the first missed visit basically begging for my room to be serviced. I was constantly at the counter asking for towels and coffee. It was finally serviced the day before we checked out. I was provided with 2,000 points for the housekeepig inconvenience. We only took advantage of breakfast one day. The egg options were hard-boiled and pre-cooked omlettes and quiche (like you get at Sam's Club). No meat options, but you could make waffles. I will give this hotel a second chance when I'm next in town but if I experience the same issue I will move on to another property for my future travel needs.

Great staff, clean rooms!

The staff members and manager were very friendly and helpful. My husband and I were celebrating our Anniversary and they made the stay very pleasant and memorable. We will def be back
- 5/5
Pleasant receptionist. Room was clean and fully stocked. Bed cozy. A very quiet environment. A great location with plenty of restaurants and shopping.
- 3/5
Did not like the breakfast. The main choices were not good & not enough. There were enough side items to make a breakfast.
- 5/5
Very nice staff
- 2/5
Our reservations where messed up and only had us down for 1 night. Crack in the sink another in the bathtub.
- 4/5
Room layout was great
- 5/5
Yella was very professional and courteous.
- 5/5
My stay was very good. Clean, comfortable, no odors in the halfway or the room.
- 2/5
Overall it was not a good experience at all. 1st I sen pictures of a pool so we assumed pool was available. Turned out there is no pool. 2nd residents Inn usually was evening receptions, this one did not. 3rd upon arrival we learned that it was paid parking for $12 per night! In the suburbs?! This is not downtown! Parking should be free. 4th the descriptions of the property tells you there is 4 minute walk to the mall. Well mall is permanently closed so why wouldn't they update their website?! 5th the bathroom had hair on the floor and in the shower. We will not be going back.
- 5/5
I liked having the kitchenette-we were only there one night but if staying longer Thant option would have been awesome
- 5/5
Great stay

Pretty good hotel

I already spoke with Supervisor re:rude evening employee -will not give me xtra pillows i requested for my condition-claims there’s nothing to give-was really upset with a huge hotel no xtra pillows!!!or she just doesn’t want to look and move from her desk!!!
- 4/5
The standouts for this stay were the staff by far. I was impressed when the head of the maintenence engineering introduced himself in the elevator and asked if there was anything i needed help with in my room to improve my stay. I said no, and he responded, "are you sure?" That made me feel like it was genuine and not just a line.
- 4/5
Surprise parking charge not identified by Expedia. Small spaces.
- 4/5
My stay was pleasant. It’s always nice to come to that property because of its proximity to walkable restaurants and grocery store for extended living. Overall quiet and clean. The property itself could definitely use a good solid investment in outdoor seating. Perhaps a fire pit or something.
- 4/5
This hotel is my usual go-to when I’m in this area. While it’s not the most up to date - the staff is nice/friendly, the place is kept neat and clean and in working order. When I’ve had issues, the front desk is always helpful and addresses my issues.

It was ok. Staff is pleasant. Breakfast is ok but not much choices. The linens looked clean but there was a ‘sweaty smell’ from the pillows and bed, and the room. I let the front office know to at least spray air freshener but nothing done about it. On our scheduled room cleaning , the bed was not made up. I don’t like giving a bad review. stayed at residence inn at other locations before and I like them a lot. Also parking is free at other locations. This one you have to pay $12/day
- 3/5
They renovated so I think the smell improved much. But they stopped offering a kitchen sponge that makes me sad. Please increase necessary cost on price then offer it. Coffee were out three days straight.
- 5/5
staff was very friendly
- 4/5
Convenience good. Friendliness of staff great. Size of room good. Breakfast was below average. Coffee was weak and eggs were bad. Facility is showing lots of wear. Leaky faucet, worn out mattress, fixtures dated.
- 5/5
Excellent clean room and superb service.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and cozy. The fireplace was a nice touch as well. The lady at the front desk was wonderful as well and even let me borrow a phone charger as I had forgotten mine. I will be back again!
- 2/5
I think they renovated the carpets and wall paper, so the room smell improved much than before. Staffs are always nice here. As for Breakfast, other residence inn are better. Columbus Polaris was good in my recent stay.
- 1/5
The room is old and run down. The AC was a portable very loud machine turning on and off all night making it difficult to rest. There were long hairs in the shower and on the "clean" towels. The shower is old and has rust as does the toilet and sink. This hotel really hurts the Marriott standard.
- 5/5
Love my stay. Front Desk Lily is so helpful and sweet lady and all the staff has been warm & welcoming
- 5/5
Helpful staff, clean and comfortable room

Cam home with 2 bites from some kind of bug...

My issue was they charged me $450. Upon check in and they said it was for incidentals. So upon arrival we grabbed a 3 waters , they would not let me pay with cash or debit card and forced me to charge it to my room. I thought that was strange but upon checkout I figured out why they do this. The next day we got 3 more water 3 candy bars and 3 small bags of chips. Upon checkout they charged me $75.00 for those items. They do this so they can get the money back from what was list in profits booking through Expedia.
- 4/5
good place to stay
- 5/5
Was nice

My air conditioner did not work for 2 nights so I slept in 60 degree temperature. I called to report it the first night and the suggestion was to turn the heat up and wait until it turned on. It never did.
- 4/5
Good experience
- 5/5
Really like the cleanliness of the whole place.
- 5/5
I have stayed here many times and I would recommend this place to anyone.
- 5/5
Pool was out service
- 5/5
Stay was very good. Comfortable and clean. Only thing is the unit for the ac/heat was in a little closet area in bedroom area and hummed deeply and annoyingly while on.
- 5/5
I like the place very much other than free wifi access. The instructions for free wifi were not available. I ended up using my hotspot.
- 5/5
Great location and nice room for a long weekend stay.
- 5/5
I liked everything about the property. It was surprisingly comfortable clean very pleasing to the eye I was very happy there….Molly was particularly helpful to me and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
- 4/5
The room was spacious
- 5/5
Property is Beautiful but when my husband and I checked in the host at the desk was not friendly and I felt uncomfortable after I gave my credit card she then want me to sign a paper saying no partying I have stayed here a few weeks ago we were not presented with this paper to sign I really do not like playing the race card but this was very uncomfortable for husband and I she did not have to be rude about this
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
Shower door had issues, the bathroom was not in good shape nor the towels. Also, very loud people running around and slamming doors late at night.
- 5/5
Perfect stay! Great location, room was amazing and staff was super friendly!
- 4/5
Staff was very helpful.

Stupid 250 policy never coming back
- 5/5
Great place to stay. Unfortunately there were working on the roof during our stay. We had some noise very early in the morning as the crew started working at 7:30am other than that was a great stay. Hotel is very close to many stores and restaurants.
- 1/5
Non-smoking rooms smelled of smoke
- 3/5
The breakfast wasn’t all that
- 5/5
I will definitely stay here again. Everything was nice and clean. Staff was very nice and welcoming.
- 5/5
Awesome room! Couldn't have been better
- 5/5
Easy check in and check out. Location was great. You could walk to food including Starbucks.
- 5/5
We loved the short stay felt homeish wish I can stay longer but I can’t offord it me and my kids living from hotel to hotel till we find a home housing got us out here homeless
- 5/5
Everything was just what my family needed in this time of pandemic. Peace, quiet, and comfort. We were welcomed with such warmth. The room was very comfortable all the way atriums. I really enjoyed the fact, that location is around everything. Restaurants, shopping, and easy to access the expressway.
- 5/5
Threatened me like I was having a huge party . It was just my best friend and I having some good time away from our family I’m over 30 that phase is over
- 5/5
Like being in a studio apt instead of a hotel room. I was able to store food in the cabinets and refrigerator and make my own bed.
- 4/5
Very nice. Check in was efficient and courteous. I just stayed one night visiting my son and it was nice that we could eat dinner in the room due to the space and kitchen area- much cozier than traditional hotel room
- 3/5
Staff were friendly, but front desk and some workers never wore masks Even when serving food, putting guests at risk when they pay for extra assurances during pandemic.
- 5/5
Staff was super kind and attentive. The rooms were clean and well kept. This establishment wouldn’t be what it is without all the workers here. Extremely satisfied. Definitely look forward to another stay here!
- 5/5
Great service friendly staff and very clean room!
- 5/5
Cleanest spot in Bloomingdale! No riff raff like the other hotels and prices are fair enough to keep the garbage away.
- 3/5
There are COVID-19 measures in place, and they are disagreeable. They offer no food service, only a free muffin if you want it. They have a barrier at the front desk, so it almost feels like a hospital. They would not enter my room to clean it, but instead they asked me to clean the room. No compensation was offered for the decline in services. I waited for them to change their mind, but they were serious the entire 17 nights. Other than that, it felt reasonably good to be there.
- 5/5
Great beds, windows that let some air in. Nice floor plan lay out with the seperation features. Lastly everything functioned properly.
- 5/5
They renovated in the last year and the place looks great. It is clean and they even updated the breakfast offered so it was fresher and better tasting. The staff is so nice and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bed is very comfortable. Highly recommend this hotel!
- 3/5
Pool and hot tub were closed for service. I was really looking forward to it.
- 5/5
Large room, comfortable furniture, clean and will maintained - loved the fireplace.
- 5/5
Very clean and neat. Easily accessible to shopping areas.
- 4/5
The free breakfast sucked...staff wasn’t always available when trying to purchase something at the store.
- 5/5
rooms are dark, and lighting is not bright
- 1/5
Under renovation, not able to accommodate people Never go here.
- 3/5
Disappointed in condition of bathroom. Desparately needs updating. Plumbing was terrible. The toilet took many times to completely flush.
- 5/5
My visit was very good. I have no complaints. The service was excellent, all of the employees were very friendly and helpful. Diana in the kitchen was especially very kind and helpful. I will stay there on my next visit to the area.
- 5/5
Very nice we enjoyed ourselves!!
- 4/5
I've stayed at this hotel before, it the accommodations are great. The only issue I had was that this stay, I was charged $10 per day for parking. I did eventually find this information on the Hotels.com website, but it was not prominent. Also, this was not explained to me when I checked in. I only found out when my receipt was emailed to me. This was very unexpected at a surburban hotel. I understand parking fees when staying downtown of a large city. This was very disappointing.
- 2/5
Couches are dirty and worst condition, no microwave at breakfast area and plates are substandard
- 5/5
Great stay, friendly staff, comfortable and clean accommodations and close to so many things. Definitely a great place to stay.
- 4/5
The only complaint I have with this stay was pool was out of order. We were able to use the Marriott pool which was located just across the parking lot (roughly 200ft). It would have been nice to know ahead of time or have been compt something on our booking but I cannot blame the Residence for this as we booked through 3rd party. The breakfast at Residence Inn and the 12pm checkout time makes up for any issue we may have had. Jessica (concierge) even moved our room to the closest door to the Marriott so it was easy to get back and forth with 2 kids, to and from the pool. The staff at both places were great, keeping each other up to date on the issue so when we walked into the Marriott they handed us a pool key and we walked right in. Even in a not so great situation they made the best of it and any staff that can do that is fantastic. Thank you ladies for another great stay!! We live less than 3 miles away and sometimes my kids and I need a quick night away from reality without the cost and time of vacation, this is where we go. It perfect for last minute. The rooms have a kitchenette so we pack drinks and snacks to cut costs. They are divided so the kids have the pullout sofa bed, and their own tv, and a rolling ottoman they call a go kart, I have a door on my room a tv and bathroom is in [master] bedroom. Its really nice and worth the cost.
- 4/5
Rooms were clean, front desk ladies were friendly and helpful. The queen bed was comfy but the fold out couch was very uncomfortable. We’d stay there again.
- 3/5
I've stay at this Bloomingdale location 4 times in the last month, even though these rooms need to be updated they were clean and comfortable. Unfortunately my last visit on March 31 my room smelled like someone was smoking in this room.
- 3/5
Overall everything was fine. Just a few things bothered me. The bed on one side seemed busted as if a few springs went missing and there was a section on the rug that was wet. I was there for one night so I didnt bother complaining just made the best of it but If i had to stay for a few night i would hve rather switched rooms or gone across the street to the courtyard.
