Extended Stay America Suites Bloomington Normal

The property is dated and could use some updating, but it is clean. Our room had a kitchenette that is advertised to be stocked with dishes and cooking essentials, but it was not. You have to ask the front desk for whatever you want to use . Even a coffee pot ! This defeats the purpose of booking a room with a stocked kitchen. The breakfast offered was rather simple compared to comparable hotels. Instead of prepared oatmeal, for example, there was hot water and an oatmeal packet. The offerings were very limited. So given the kitchen was not stocked and the breakfast was rather slim, we went out which was not part of our plan. Finally, we have an extra charge on our account that wasn't explained. I have a message in to find out why.

The staff was great. We stayed almost 2 weeks. You can get plates, silverware, and pans at the front desk. Housekeeping leaves you alone unless you ask. I like that. We could dump our garbage as we wanted. We took our dirty towels to the front desk and got clean ones. There is a refrigerator, stove top, and microwave in the rooms.

Clean Thin walls. Inadequate breakfast. Staff was not rude but checked us in wry quickly because he was busy in the laundry room and didn’t give us any information about breakfast or thank us for staying.

Everything is old, bathroom door did not lock, key cards didn’t work. Had to go 3 times to fix it. Breakfast is just coffee and muffins.

Do not expect hotel amenities such as hair dryer, shampoo or conditioner. Also there were absolutely no charging stations in the room (even the back of TV). If you're looking for a place to rest your head it is fine.

Front desk very pleasant and accommodating We was put in for a 1130 check out and housekeeping was knocking on our door at 1057 to let us know check out was at 11 am, we told them we had a 1130 check out and we would be leaving soon. I have been a manager of a hotel and I know on charts it stats stay overs, ck outs and late checkouts on the sheets. Also I feel ice cube trays could be filled when you have guest arriving with reservations in rooms so this way they would have it if needed. Room was nice but the beds were terribly hard, def not comfortable

Why would you book a room for me when you don’t even offer check in after 11pm. I booked the room after 11pm. I had a death in the family and was leaving the hospital. Thanks for making it so much worse.

Unique smells throughout. Only offered shampoo no conditioner. Very low water pressure in shower. Booked a queen bed but was put in 2 doubles room. No coffee available at 8:00am. Only offered a muffin and a nutrigrain bar for breakfast. The staff was very friendly but the building and amenities was not what I expected from an Extended Stay.

Hotel smelled terrible. Very dirty in common hallways with stains everywhere. Baby Cockroaches in and around the fridge and stove. The only good this is that I only needed the room for 6 hours to sleep. Gross hotel.

I waited at the front desk for someone to help me check in and no one was there for over an hour. No one anywhere around. I called the hotel nobody answered. Several people came in and gave up and left. It was ridiculous. The hotel was fine but the service was ridiiculous.

I stayed here a few weeks ago but on an upper floor. This trip I was on the first floor. Debris on the floor and bed, an odor in the room and hallways that was not pleasant and furniture that Goodwill would not accept. I will not stay here again.

We picked this hotel because it took pets and needed kitchen area. The first room assigned to I could not stay in due to large amount of paint peeling in bathroom and the vent covered in dust. Staff was good about assigning another room.

The service in the evening was very nice. We had to wait around in the morning for someone to come to the front desk for a while. Hotel was for one night. Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Hall smelled like smoke. Was quiet and staff was friendly. Continental breakfast consisted of wrapped muffins in a cabinet. No coffee.

For the price this was a good place to stay. Rooms were clean, hallways not as clean but I will take a clean room over a clean hallway. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The only downside is I thought after spending $800 that they would help us out there and extend and work with us, to stay longer, my spouse was going to work and would have enough for two more nights when he got back, but they wouldn't allow it, which was a little discouraging, because we had to come back to a cold vehicle already being sick. And will have to sleep in the vehicle until he gets paid from working. I'm a recent sex trafficking and rape victim, and we are stranded because the vehicle we drove for doordash is broken down. So now I may have to stay in a cold vehicle, alone while he goes to work.

Hotel is very clean, smells good, great interior design. Kitchen/cooking ware is in good condition, not overly used. Over all I give them a 11 out of 10!! This is my new favorite hotel!!

The room was a little dated but very clean and comfortable. Did not have any issues hearing other guests in other rooms. Staff was very helpful and pleasant, especially Valencia.

Valencia and staff were excellent!!..My room had a major bathroom maintenance problem that required long time attention from me and my significant other. Extended Stay staff helpful with accommodating Expedia with information for a refund of stay.. Even with dilemma I would recommend this hotel!

Came up to IL for a wedding. This place was clean, comfortable, and would be great for a short or long term stay. There was a small kitchenette in the room. Wifi worked well. Would recommend.

If you are looking for a no frills affordable place to stay this place works.

The hotel staff was great and accommodating! The only lower scores I gave were because of the other guests. The hotel was loud and we did not sleep well. Adult males were pacing the halls and walking in and out of rooms to go back and forth all night long.

Terrible grease smell. Several doors propped open. Some guests roaming hall.

It was a horrible stay. The place is filthy. They didn't have 1 fork for us to eat dinner. We had to carry our dirty towels to the front desk to get clean towels. They migrants selling breakfast,lunch and dinner right across from our room. There was always a line of people waiting like it was a restaurant. I definitely never ever stay there again.

Great parking and well lit at night. Location was excellent as well. A 15 minute drive to anywhere in town. Especially close to ISU campus. Was not happy I had to bring down all the dirty towels from my room per the front desk request, but I did it. There was some mold/mildew around the fixtures in the shower, but the room was clean otherwise. Would stay again.

The smell of the hotel, both when you first walked in and in the room, was so awful it made it very hard to relax and enjoy the stay, unfortunately.

Our room smelled absolutely horrible since we arrived. We brought it up to front desk staff and nothing was done. Asked if we could be moved to another room and they declined this. There were also cockroaches in the kitchenette area and still nothing done to clean the room further. I personally bought air freshener to try to make it better

Simple, easy check in. Quiet room. Pleasant staff. Ample parking. Reason that I returned and stayed there. :)

This was a good place to stay. Quiet, large room, HGTV and close to Destihl restaurant and brewery which had amazing food and drinks. Only con about the room is that they had nothing blocking my pet from going under the bed and it was quite dusty under there.

The manager proceeds to start taking us up to the room, as another visitor comes to the desk to complain of mold in his room. Again, they said nothing they could do. We get upstairs and file into the room, noticing the smell of cigarette smoke and who knows what else. Manager then sprays some heavy duty deodorizer all over the room then leaves. We are in the room for maybe 10 minutes, my daughter lays on her bed as we chat. When we get in the car she starts breaking out in hives. My husband and I decided we were not going to stay there. We went back after our dinner and checked out, when I told the staff on duty all she said was “Okay” and that was that. We booked another hotel down the road. Will not return.

Staff were great! But when, we walked in our room garbage was still in trash, beds are horrible (comfort) and place definitely needs an update.

Free “breakfast” was a choice of granola bar or a tiny muffin. It wouldn’t have been so bad if maybe they had some milk and fruit. Try harder.

The property was very hard to find, even using Google Maps.

We got to our room and the windows were open with 18 degree temperatures. Couldn’t adjust temp in room with heat. Bed is hard and uncomfortable. Front desk was unfriendly. Noisy neighbors.

When I checked in, the person helping me was slow, distracted by things going on in the room behind the check in desk. The elevator hadn’t been cleaned in sometime. The floor was very dirty as were the walls. I found plastic wrappings on the floor in my room on the floor. The WIFI password wasn’t listed anywhere, I had to call 3 times for anyone to answer the phone. If there had been rooms available anywhere else I would have asked for a refund and left. I travel quite a bit and don’t expect perfection, but this experience was one of my worst!

Beds were not made and moved to another room. Lights were flickering, refrigerator was rusty and hair all over sink. We cancelled and left quickly. My kids were scared.

Not amazing...dated, small bathroom, had a challenge with our thermostat & grab & go breakfast was less than expected, but room was clean enough & felt safe, which are my priorities. Fair priced for what you get.

There wasn’t anyone at check in for about 5 minutes. The building smelled like both cigarette and pot mixed. The bed was hard as a rock and we slept on top. The room looked old and just hap hazardly put together. The paint color made everything look dirty

Room was spacious but thermostat was off by several degrees, loud fridge ran constantly and we were awakened by doors shutting in nearby side entrance.

Between the heater squealing at various times, something (couldn't figure out if it was in the bathroom or the hallway) clicking very loudly at random times, and being able to clearly hear guests in neighboring rooms who were up all night (they weren't being rowdy - I could hear their normal level conversation as clearly as if they were next to me), it felt like non-stop noise in the room making it hard to sleep. I also had an issue with checking in. I plan on returning to the area, but will not be staying here again.

My 2 windows were permanently locked open. I could not close or open them. Major safety issue. What if there’s a fire & I needed to climb out the window? Another guest told me several windows are like this. Employee told them it’s done this way to keep the street noise out. I think they just need to install new sound proof windows. Each time I entered/exited the hotel (about 4 times), no one was at the front desk. After staying at hotels for the last 35yrs as a flight attendant, I would never stay at this hotel again.

Didn't care for cigarette smoke smell since our room was right off smoking area. Was concerned we would be charged for "smoking in our room" due to smell. We dont smoke

The kitchen area was dirty. We had to wipe the counters down with cleaning wipes. The outside of the refrigerator was dirty. The room smelled. We had to go but a room odor deodorizer just to tolerate the smell. There were little bus all over the widows, and window ledge. I had to continuously wipe them down to attempt to get rid of the bugs. Not a place we would stay ever again.

Smelled like something had died in my room - I requested a room change and was told there were no other rooms available and received 2 spray cans of odor neutralizer. Every time the air conditioner kicked in during the night, the reeking odor became overwhelming. Suspect it was urine in the carpet. I received a full refund instantly when I requested it, so I doubt the condition of this room was unknown to the desk clerks on duty at the time of my check-in and check-out. The room should have been pulled out of service. Absolutely disgusting.

Room was smelly and building was very rough and didn't feel safe. Staff were not friendly and personable.

Piles and piles of dog hair under all the furniture and I woke up with bites all over my legs . Showed lady at desk and she refunded one of my nights . There was not one place in the bathroom to sit your soap . Sink or in the shower. Didn’t won’t my room cleaned during the day and I asked for a sign to put on the door but they said they didn’t have anything . I could keep going but that’s enough

Took money through hotels.com when there was no room available. Front desk staff said the new housekeeper did not complete the rooms for several days resulting in turning many people with reservation away. They give you a free appetizer from Texas Roadhouse and send you away stating they will not refund until the next day. Unfortunately there were no other rooms available in Bloomington Normal.

All front desk staff went above and beyond to help with questions or requests. Super nice and friendly. It’s an extended stay with kitchenette so they only serve muffins, granolas, oatmeal and coffee. Don’t be afraid to stay here based on past reviews some people you would never please.

Whom ever owns this property should realize that fresh paint can make a dramatic difference in the internal appearance of a property.

Guests in room next to us began arguing at 2 and then again at 3 am. Not wanting to confront them directly, went to front desk and no one was there. Did not get much sleep. Won’t stay at an Extended Stay again.
