This is a house that dates from 1869 that is kept in that style with lots of old time features, it has got sir con and modernish bathrooms., but if you want taking back in time this is a place to stay. The staff are great and the breakfast too.

It was amazing! This place is a hidden gem! I met a really nice couple there, they live 45 min away and never knew this place exists, so for them it was a short drive getaway. For me it was just perfect Mother’s Day gift to myself:) historical place, tastefully decorated to preserve the time when it was build, very quiet and green streets around. Very tasty breakfast ( the baked peach with cinnamon was just something!!!), I took it outside! Very nice owners, everything was more than I expected! Definitely will stay again!!!

My stay at Vrooman was very positive overall. I was tired of the same old hotels and wanted to experience something new for the one night I would be in Bloomington, IL, And this place was so unique I wasn't disappointed. I stayed in the Masters Chambers, a beautiful huge bedroom with a detached personal bathroom. I appreciated the period accurate and historical decor In the room, as well as throughout the home. I also really enjoyed the breakfast the morning after. Everything tasted so fresh and flavorful, and even though I hate mushrooms with a passion, I felt I had to give the mushroom souffle a try. And I'm glad I did! All in all, it's a great place to stay if you want something different. Staff was also very helpful and had great communication and dedication to problem solving even through a tiny issue I had during my stay. Would definitely stay again, and you should too!

We recieved a warm welcome and tour of the mansion upon arrival. Our beautiful room was enormous and we had a stylish antique bathroom located across the hall. Breakfast was amazing and we had wonderful conversation with the other guests. The piano downstairs can be played by anyone, and one of the couples were playing and singing, which my husband really enjoyed. Our stay was short, so we weren't able to explore the neighborhood as we would have liked. We would love to return and stay longer.

The Vroom Mansion is a beautiful, stately home in Bloomington, IL. We were so very happy that we had the opportunity to spend the night there. The service, comfort and food were excellent, though I did have a problem with the “stuffiness,” old house smell that permeated the building.

The bathroom sink was hand made along with a lot of the woodwork throughout the property. When staying in the cottage you are able to park in the driveway off the street! They asked about food allergies and anything else we may have needed to enhance our stay! I highly recommend staying here.

Amazing mansion in Bloomington took my breath away! This mansion is from the late 1800s but was very cozy and so clean, and upheld fabulously. Tons of antiques all over the mansion. The owners and person who checked us in were friendly. The guy who checked us in gave my friend and I a tour, it was like a history lesson, I loved it! So much character. I love that the owners kept it in great condition like the day it was built. The breakfast was very good and there’s even a snack closet! You’ll find candy in a lot of fun dishes around the mansion. Pillows were a little hard, and the old original toilet ran but not complaining.

This was our second stay at the Vrooman Mansion, a beautiful, historic home in Bloomington. The service Pam and Trisha provided was excellent, and the breakfasts were delicious. Everything was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. The staff and breakfast we're perfect. The mansion was too cool. The beds could be upgraded. The only odd thing was when we checked out we knew we would have to pay $15 for breakfast for my daughter. She stayed in our room on the sleeper sofa. We did let them know and was not told that there would be a $20 charge. And they also charged $20 for her breakfast after they said it was $15. So no big deal... I'm just saying. With all that said I would go back.

Everything at the Vrooman Mansion was top-notch! All the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the history of the mansion. The style of the accommodations was in keeping with the period (late 1800's), but still had all the modern conveniences, including free internet access and USB charging ports. The breakfast was incredibly delicious; the staff even called before our stay to ask about dietary preferences/restrictions. When they learned I was gluten free, they made out-of-this-world gluten free pancakes from scratch just for me! Awesome place for honeymoon, anniversary, or just a weekend getaway. They also host weddings and other special events. Would definitely stay again; highly recommended!!

I expected it to be beautiful based on the photos, however, never expected the environment I walked into. It was extraordinary. There was not a detail missed (up to and including the wonderful organic soaps and lotions provided). The sheets smelled like lavender; the robe was the softest I had ever been in. The free snacks, coffee, and water were a wonderful convenience. Then there was the breakfast; baked pear with sour cream, bacon, fresh fruit, blackberry pancakes, a beautiful fritata, juice, water, and incredible coffee. As if this wasn't enough, a player piano played wonderful music as I was dining. I have never heard the Beatles on a player piano ... it was incredible. The staff were friendly and sooooooooooooooo accommodating! I went in advance of my meeting to relax, and that I did!

If you love history or antiques, this is the place for you! Be prepared this is a "period" mansion and if the unique wooden, claw foot tub and water closet is not your cup of tea and you prefer modern "hi end" appliances, I suggest going elsewhere. The mansion is absolutely beautiful and the service exceptional. A tour was given and the information quite fascinating, we were encouraged to explore on our own as well. We were provided a variety of beverage and snack and breakfast the next morning was wonderful. Loved it! Again though, if you don't like creaky floors and no TV in your room (there is one in sitting room), I suggest you look for the standard motel.
