The stay was rocky from the start, the staff was very rude. Called the front desk a couple different times with no help. The food isn’t available all day. When we asked about food the front desk said “you’re calling the front desk.” The staff ruined this stay.

Location. Wi-fi included. Parking availability. In room bar fridge nice & cold. Modern room. Friendly, informative, knowledgable staff. Wayyyy to expensive for area in city and for actual city, meaning no disrespect to the city of Buffalo, the price paid (over $400 usd for a Sat night) or the size of the room, i paid much much more per night in comparison to the likes of downtown Toronto or Miami. Aloft taking complete advantage for the lack of competition in the area. Also, for the price paid, it would have been appreciated that onsite parking was included, in which it wasnt. For this price, NEVER going back.

The place looks nice but the fact that they can't upgrade to a room that is most likely empty for me viewing it from the outside just so I can enjoy some fresh air while I'm willing to pan up charges ridiculous, plus their door room keys that they also charge you to use the parking ramp when you're staying there by the way which is beyond ridiculous I'm already paying $300 to stay here but you charge me an extra $13-15 per car. The room key wouldn't allow me in or out of the park and ramp I had to keep buzzing into the front desk just to be let in staff was very nice even though they couldn't do anything at all

i was triple billed, broken fridge, broken tv, it was a queen bed not a king, steam room was not working and screaming kids in the pool
- 3/5
Parking was not well marked. When checking in, staff was low key yelling at her computer, acted like checking us in was inconvenient for her as there was only one staff member at front desk. The bathroom/toilet, floor and bed were clean. Great view and cool minimalist style room. However, walls around the bathroom/toilet closet were dirty with toothpaste splatter and drips. Upon check out, initially the front desk was unmanned, again only one employee . When we were checking out, staff was again pleasant, but did not ask how stay was, just quick checked us out and left the desk. We picked the hotel due to location. It was closely located to several restaurants and Shea theater, but would not visit again.

Housekeeping knocked on the door once then proceeded to use their key to come in. I had the dnd hanging on my door. Check out wasn’t until 12pm this happened 10am

Aloft downtown was so amazing. Kids had fun in pool and the staff is excellent

Once you get to your room, -it's awkward but fine. Coming in the front door is like entering a 1970's disco. Getting into this hotel is more like entering a 1970's nightclub: you walk through a corridor, but with it's high ceiling it's more like a tunnel. The 'lobby' has 1 circular couch which is extremely uncomfortable...since the lobby has shared entrance to a restaurant and bowling alley, they clearly don't want you hanging around (not a convenient place to wait for others in your party). Checkin was quick and efficient. Because this building is multi-use, you have to use your keycard in the elevator for access to only your floor (and likewise, tenants shouldn't be able to access 'guest' floors). Parking your car is an additional $17/night in the attached garage. Since the floors are "u-shaped' and the only elevator is at 1 end of the 'u',be sure to ask for a room close to the elevator. If you don't, you're in for a LONG walk w/ your bags to the rooms at opposite end of the floor. Want ice....use your keycard because the room w/ the icemaker is locked. There's a rooftop bar above the 12 floor which stays open late. Overall, with the presence of the roof bar, downstairs restaurant and bowling alley, mixed use offices on multiple floors and keycards designed to limit access...the whole vibe is that there's a security plan designed to keep people only in the places they belong. Somewhat unnerving. If walking is a challenge, you won't like this place at all.

There should be a disclaimer about the noise at this hotel. The rooftop bar is in fact a nightclub with thumping music that permeates the ceiling. Our room was directly below the club and even after the music stopped after 2 am we got to enjoy the sounds of bar stools scrapping the floor as they cleaned up. To make matters worse the party then moved to the room beside us. After hours of more music and rowdiness we called and complained. The staff did come up and address it, the music stopped but the people hollering and coming and going continued until 7 am. We have never had a worse experience at a hotel.

Decent view and design of room. However, the shower head wouldn’t turn all the way off, no area in shower to place items besides ground, Kleenex ran out - the last bottom Kleenex sheets were a different color and folded down as if a guest put them there.

Great stay!! There was so much to do in the building itself. Only complaint is that our balcony was covered in broken glass. I understand the railing to the balcony next door shattered, but they didn’t seem to care.. and there was quite a lot of glass bits that reached our balcony.

We love Aloft Hotels! If we find one we will usually pick there to stay. This Aloft did not disappoint. It was clean and the decor is so cute. The pool was great and it was easy to find. The neighborhood it was in is a little sketch but I never felt unsafe. We would absolutely stay here again!!

Great central spot for a city break.
- 5/5
I had a great view of the lake - would definitely stay there again. The room was clean and everything was quiet. There was a place nearby to have breakfast.
- 3/5
The room's sad excuse for a chair (not counting the uncomfortable L-shaped ornament next to the tiny table) was a lonely-looking padded cube that failed miserably as both a place to sit AND a place to put an open suitcase. The refrigerator had no freezer, so I couldn't re-freeze my ice pack and had to use ice cubes for the trip home... and it was so desperate to be "green", it turned off the display after a few seconds and created about an hour of uncertainty about whether it was even working. The room's 12th-floor location was noisy due to the nightclub on the roof. Topping it all off... the bathroom had no lock on the door. Basically, it's a hotel that tries so painfully hard to pretend it's "cool" and "edgy", it completely loses sight of things that actually *matter*, like "guest comfort". If you're pretentiously insecure about your own trendiness, think ascetic minimalism is cool, and you're OK with eating cold packaged junk food or raw fruit for breakfast, you might like this hotel. Personally, Marriott's "boutique" hotels are now officially dead to me. For $150/night, it would have been "disappointing". At $500/night, it just plain sucked.
- 5/5
Cool vibe. conveniently located. Walkable to downtown attractions. I wished the rooftop bar and lower level lounge were open on Sunday funday, but at least the lower level bar was open.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel on New Year’s Eve 2024. The room was extremely large, 2 beds, and a small table and booth for eating at. We appreciated the refrigerator, coffee machine, and free water. The bedding was clean, and the beds and pillows were extremely comfortable, and everyone had a solid sleep once we were able. The downside, no-fault of the hotel, was the neighbors who shared our balcony. The balcony door open and closed nearly every minute or two, which slammed and could be heard in our room. The neighbors were also yelling off the balcony until after midnight. In some hotels, you can control the fan on the heater and AC unit which helps with some noise dampening, however we were not able to do this in our room - once the temperature reached where it was set, it turned off. Unfortunately, the shower was not very hot, but we really were excited to see that the shampoo, body wash, conditioner, and body lotion were from our favorite brand Drybar. Parking was easy on the fifth and sixth floor of a parking garage, which was covered from the elements and connected to the hotel by elevators. We did not use the amenities like the pool, or rooftop bar. We did eat at a restaurant, VICE, that was at the lobby level and enjoyed the cocktails, but not the food. This hotel is in walking distance to much of downtown, including theaters, live music spaces, bars and restaurants. I will definitely consider booking this hotel again, as we are frequently in Buffalo for events.

Bartenders at WXYZ bar were great as well. Very friendly and the service was great! Would definitely recommend and will be back.

It was a great atmosphere friendly people, staff. Clean and I forgot my room key several times and they never complained once or got upset with me.

We received complementary vouchers and no place to use for breakfast. Waste of $40
- 5/5
Great staff. facilities are getting old though. Walkable area
- 4/5
Had a great stay. Staff was friendly. Clean rooms and gym.

Upon checkout, the staff was unresponsive with similar apathy. I was greeted with “you booked through a 3rd party, nothing can do”. Not inexpensive either, in short steer clear.

The room was very modern. The stay was very quiet. I would stay there again.
- 5/5
Area is surrounded by good places to grab dinner or lunch.
- 5/5
Hotel was very nice. It’s a different layout than I have seen. Only floors 10-12 are hotel rooms, and of course the lobby is on the first floor. In between are offices and apartments. No iron in the room. I called to request one but it never came. Very welcoming to my 2 dogs that were traveling with us. Excellent location….perfect for a night at the theater.
- 5/5
Excellent stay. Hotel room and dining was great!
- 5/5
The room is big and the view is great. Great location with lots to do in the area.
- 4/5
The things that took it from 5 stars to 4 for me were that, 1: the neighborhood is a little rough, not necessarily bad, but not great, and 2: the deciding factor on me booking this hotel was the amazing pictures of the rooftop lounge. Maybe I missed it in the description, but the lounge and the second floor restaurant are closed on Mondays. That was a bummer.
- 5/5
Excellent place to stay
- 1/5
it's so noisy at night, we can't sleep well at all. The noise from the bar or pup whatever didn't stop until 2:00am. it's the worst hotel we have ever lived
- 4/5
I didn’t not like the fact that I had to keep going to the front desk because my key card didn’t work after being told that it did work.
- 4/5
It started off not to good with the room..but they Fixed it..our new Room was fantastic…..we were there for a wedding…the bar upstairs was Wow…the view from the roof beautiful….the staff was just great and the food was very very good
- 5/5
Rooftop bar amazing and the view. Friendly people staff at rooftop amazing
- 4/5
The bed, pillows, and linens were super nice. Great view of the skyline! We were unfortunately underneath the rooftop bar’s DJ station so it was a little noisy, but living in Buffalo already we were used to some ambient noise and we were offered earplugs by the front desk clerk.
- 5/5
Nice pool. Great view from room. Ceiling to floor windows!
- 3/5
I was extremely disappointed in the fact that the pool was closed the bowling alley was closed and also the rooftop bar was also closed the worst MOTHER'S DAY and night celebration for my wife of over 33 years was the nightmare of all time in our trip too the aloft
- 3/5
the staff was rude lied about where the pool was as if i've never been there just odd also said it was closed which it wasn't
- 5/5
My stay was great there were a couple things sad like we came on a Sunday so not everything was open but that’s ok. There was food left in the fridge in our room. But I will be totally staying again.
- 4/5
Very clean and contemporary. Staff was nice and informative. Most of the nearby restaurants are pricey (no fast food within walking distance for cheaper meals). Garage is a little bit of a nightmare to enter but no issues exiting and low cost parking fee. Snack area is clean and offers decent prices. The only issue with the room is the shower was not draining very fast (I think it's the design of the drain), so water splashed out onto the floor. Otherwise, it's a very decent place to stay.
- 1/5
Television service was out. Was nit made aware until check in. Seems like a phone call could have been made prior to our arrival so that we had the opportunity to cancel. Staff was unapologetic about this. Also hotel had a weird odor. Breakfast service was unclear and was never even mentioned to us. Would not stay here again. Not worth the cost of a room
- 4/5
A/c unit was crazy loud and kept waking us up. Neighbours (upstairs or downstairs or beside - not sure) were smoking weed so our room smelled of weed starting about 10pm
- 2/5
I feel the rooms are way over priced, especially when you have to pay for parking besides the room cost. Also no breakfast or drinks included. I’ve stayed in just as nice hotels in the past for better than half the money, with parking and breakfast included!
- 4/5
I was ok
- 5/5
Great place. I enjoyed my time there. Clean rooms and nice staff.
- 2/5
The lobby is dated and run down. Our rooms faced a large rooftop air conditioning duct which was an eyesore. To turn on the bathroom light you must first turn on the bright overhead light, waking others in the room. Staff were disinterested and rude. Food and service at the rooftop bar were poor. Do not stay here!!!
- 5/5
Keep up the good work, love the property!!!
- 4/5
Great property, views, modern. A pretty big fight was going on when I got back at night. Sure that’s rare.
- 3/5
Hotel was very nice, but the noise from the Rooftop Bar permeates the entire facility. Don’t even consider trying to sleep until 2:00.
- 5/5
Love the hotel. The Rooftop bar
- 2/5
I think this hotel was over priced for what it was! Just trying to navigate to your floor in the elevators was a frustrating experience. When inside your room, you could hear everything around you, not very soundproof when trying to sleep. Then getting charged with a pretty steep parking garage charge when you already paid a large amount for the room- would never stay there again- wasn’t worth the cost!
- 5/5
Great location and amazing staff
- 4/5
I liked at atmosphere it was modern and colorful.
- 5/5
My stay at Aloft was great. The hotel staff was very nice and attentive. The room was clean and comfortable. The entire hotel was quiet, although clearly busy. There are plenty of great restaurants and bars to choose from that are connected to the lobby and also within 5 min walking distance. V ICE is right off the lobby and the food is fantastic - definitely recommend. Aloft is now one of my go to hotels when I visit Buffalo.
- 5/5
I have looked at this hotel before but it is usually out of my price range. As a huge live music fan, I am often looking for only one night and within safe walking to the Tralf, Town Ballrom, Et.al.... This location is literally at the back door. Upscale attempt, comfortable bed and a very nice shower also make returning attractive. I wish the HDMI slot on the TV was left useable so as to be able to review the photos taken while in Buffalo. Parking is an expensive addon but very convenient.
- 5/5
Love the vibe and atmosphere of the establishment...lots to experience
- 4/5

- 5/5
Beautiful view, modern decor. High quality products in bathroom. Comfy bed.
- 4/5
It was great
- 5/5
Great hotel with so many options for entertainment and great food/drinks within and surrounding areas of the hotel! A room with a view is a must! Can’t wait to return!
- 1/5
I normally stay here always clean not so friendly but I do love the restaurant and surroundings I was so disappointed they were not helpful nor friendly a dirty bowl and a roach crawling in my room is just ridiculous they have a holding fee they have yet to refund I’m so unhappy with them
- 4/5
Very good service. Great location. Stone Throw away from Sheas Theater
- 4/5
A bit antiseptic i.e., no real character to the hotel.
- 5/5
Very modern and up to date.
- 5/5
Perfect location for our trip to the theatre. Super clean, spacious room. Friendly, accommodating staff.
- 5/5
Very clean, beautiful view. We had a balcony and you could see the beautiful city view. It was a nice experience.
- 1/5
Very small overpriced room. No amenities. All the restaurants and bars closed in the hotel. Would never stay here again
- 2/5
The staff at the aloft was very sympathetic and accommodating under the circumstances.
- 1/5
Once finally inside the hotel we went to check in and was told "oops, sorry, we're sold out" (even though I made my reservation almost 2 months in advance). Was sent to a sister hotel that was 20 minutes away and no where near the area we needed to be for an event. Still waiting a week later for a refund. Will never attempt to book there again.
- 5/5
Trendy and modern
- 4/5
Location is perfectly located downtown. Parking is super convenient in the ramp for hotel guests. The check in was smooth and easy. The rooms were very clean and spacious but a bit drafty from the windows. Overall had a very nice experience at this location!!
- 5/5
The Hotel was downtown, but had it's own parking ramp. I also liked the security using the elevators. Safety is important to me with how violent the world has become.
- 2/5
I was prepared for a basic room given that the price was pretty reasonable. However the whole stay was disappointing. From the time where we were trying to check in and couldn't even find a checking account or, it turns out it was just too kiosks tucked away in the corner of what I think is the lobby. So the whole lobby smelling like a weird onion smell. To no instructions given about how to access our room or where amenities were. To the toilet having stains and the shower having a puddle of body soap on the ground. To the sketchy neighborhood. To the free Wi-Fi which stopped working on the second day, and when we asked the staff person at the check in kiosk, she didn't have a solution or offer a credit. And finally to the worst part, where nobody was wearing masks not even the staff. I would definitely not stay here again, but somebody on a budget who as low expectations and doesn't really care about their health might be interested in staying here.
- 2/5
Service and amenities are lacking after having stayed here for years. Rates were almost double, overrun by poorly behaved wedding guests and loud rooftop party and guests.I’ll not stay here again
- 1/5
Rates were nearly double as I’ve stayed here over a dozen times. Restaurant was closed for a party, lounge is permanently closed and replaced with a loud and trashy rooftop crowd. Weddings dominated the elevator, no safety Covid precautions at all and the front desk was unprofessional and understaffed. Stay at Westin or Hampton down the block instead.
