Reviews

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable. I stayed one night, and it met my expectations. Nothing special, but I got good value.
- 4/5
I was very comfortable from little time that I stayed.
- 4/5
Great rooms and helpful staff. Breakfast could have been better with meat or eggs but overall a good experience.
- 5/5
Pretty much no breakfast
- 4/5
Was very skeptical when we booked but all other hotels were booked or triple the money we wanted to spend. When we arrived we were surprised with how the hotel was. Everything was clean. But beware breakfast is very limited.

Good value for a one night stay.

It was fine, not luxury I did not like having to have a key to enter the hotel from the outside. Not sure why they did it that way

I stayed here on Friday, May 22-23, 2026, and I woke up Saturday morning with large red bumps on my neck and arms. I reported it to the front desk attendant and she let me change rooms. The following morning, I woke up around 5:30 AM, with more large red bumps. I immediately went down to the front office, showed the attendant my arms annd neck and informed him that they have a bedbug and black ants problem due to me killing two black ants the first night before I went to bed, and I immediately asked for a refund. He informed me that he didn’t even like working there. I said wow, and asked for the managers card so that I can give her a call when I get home. He said that she did not have a card but he was notating everything and she will call me. I called and spoke with the manager (Ms. Claudia) the following evening who said that she will refund me and she was very apologetic. However, today is 5/27/2026, and the fund has not been returned and I will be filing a claim.

Fan in bathroom was super loud and rattled even when turned off. It also did not remove any moisture from the room.

Location and cost were good. Fan in bathroom was super loud and rattled even when turned off. It also did not remove any moisture from the room.

The experience from registration to checkout at this hotel was quite disappointing. Initially, upon check-in, access to the building was restricted until a driver's license was presented, and a temporary swipe card was issued for entry. Despite eye contact made by the two female staff members at the counter, I still had to ring the bell to summon assistance, provide my driver's license, and wait several minutes. The breakfast, which was advertised as hot or warm, consisted only of toast and oatmeal as warm offerings, with no warm protein sources available; the only protein options were yogurt. While I appreciate efforts to preserve towels, the towels provided had noticeable thin spots through which one could see. The staff behind the counter were somewhat unfriendly, whereas the cleaning personnel and hallway attendants were consistently courteous and helpful.
- 1/5
Outdated, tvs outdated, it was hot. Air barely worked, bed bugs, breakfast limited selection middle of no where cool but limited everything and outdated was terrible

Nice staff. Breakfast was limited but nice to have on our way out in the mornings. Overall, value is very good for the hotel quality. Super close to the college too.
- 3/5
This was just okay. The rooms felt damp - and carpet seemed old and a little concerning…. Bed was comfortable - bathrooms were okay. The locking entrance where you had to check in through a small window was a little off putting and not very welcoming.
- 4/5
Very reasonably priced. Nice desk clerk

- 3.5/5
It was ok Smell
- 5/5
Just glad o get a hotel room
- 5/5
Space in the rooms, a bit crammed but would recommend
- 4/5
My only complaint: Coffee was essentially water.. feels like it was prepared by staff who don’t know how to make coffee
- 5/5
Nice clean hotel, very reasonable nightly rate.
- 1/5
Horrible customer service. The little crossed eyed man at the front desk was so incompetent and made me feel so uncomfortable I paid for my room and ended up not even staying there. I had an issue where there was a double booking. He was trying to make me pay for both rooms. This little fella was very unprofessional. Like i said, i went to different hotel just so i didn't have to see him again. Plenty of other hotels in area. Dont go to this one.
- 5/5
Was very clean staff was nice beds comfortable breakfast was simple
- 4/5
Yes Yes but I was looking for breakfast pancakes hot breakfast eggs sausage
- 3/5
The room was clean, but it did not match the picture. It felt like staying in a dorm with minimal amenities. I could hear the TV from the next room all night.
- 4/5
Room was clean and breakfast was better than I thought it was going to be
- 5/5
Love staying here! Quiet, clean and love the window seat view of the pond on the backside.
- 4/5
Clean and quiet place that worked well for a mom's weekend stay. Free breakfast was modest.
- 2/5
You get what you pay for.
- 5/5
Good location. Friendly staff. Free breakfast. Clean rooms. I’d definitely stay here again.
- 2/5

- 4/5
Overall great value for the price
- 3/5
Parking was good, didn’t have breakfast
- 5/5
the staff was great , easy to park , and the facility was clean . the lady at the don’t desk was extremely friendly and helpful, i’m so sorry I don’t remember her name but she was great
- 2/5
I found two baby roaches in The bathroom crawling around. Both nights we came back to the hotel no parking except the back of the building with. No keyed entrance, we had to walk around the entire building then our key wouldn't work each night to even get in. We had to ring the doorbell so they could rekey both cards each time. With an attitude stating keep away from phone, which was not even the case either time.
- 3/5
The staff looks without energy
- 2/5
Staff, including manager, were extremely rude—during check in process, insisted on making a paper copy of my credit card as “insurance in case you smoke or vape in the room.” They warned me not to vape or smoke in the room as if I were a child. Upon check out I asked for the paper copy of my credit card back—they refused.
- 4/5
The heating system needed some work.
- 3/5
Great value. Small room but comfortable
- 1/5
Yes
- 5/5
Great hotel, very clean and maintained. Close to I 57 exit
- 4/5
Room was clean and good temperature. No in room coffee, but some in the lobby that was good. Breakfast was simple options: toast, oatmeal, fruit, yogurt, cereal. Parking was no problem. Staff was polite and informed.
- 5/5
Yes the shopping was close I enjoyed it in the price of the hotel was excellent The people was excellent The parking lot was excellent and I would definitely stay there again
- 2/5
Hotel seemed very run down and clientele that I met, was very sketchy. For the cost, I wasn’t very comfortable. It was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly and helpful though.
- 4/5
Adequate facilities and the price was reasonable
- 5/5
The premisis was in good order, clean and sufficient.
- 5/5
I liked the cleanliness.
- 5/5
Everything was great
- 4/5
Nice, clean, comfortable hotel. No complaints there. Entrance door a little odd. It's locked, ckerk needs to give you a card thru a little window in order to open the door just to come in and check-in. He or she may leave you standing there for a minute or two as well. Just seemed an odd way to greet guests to me.
- 5/5
It was perfect for handicap stay. Great deal for the money.
- 5/5
Yes
- 4/5
A very good value at discounted price!!
- 3/5
The room was clean. However, the continental breakfast was terrible. Two loaves of bread, wheat and white for the guest to use gloves to reach in the bag. The two gentlemen before me did not use the gloves. This is not practicing clean sanitary. Instant grits & oatmeal, cereals, coffee, tea, juices, yogurt and hot chocolate was provided.
- 2/5
Room smelled like urine. When the heat was turned on it smelled like dust burning for over a half hour. We had to keep the ac on in the winter. Sheets were stained and very dingy.
- 3/5
The bed was uncomfortable - too lumpy. The phone charger attachment on the alarm clock didn't work - we had to borrow a cube from the front desk. The ice machine was out of order. "Light" breakfast means VERY light - no hot options besides toast. The staff was friendly and cooperative, though.
- 4/5
Clean rooms
- 4/5
Room was clean.
- 4/5
Nice staff, room was clean, easy check in/out process.
- 1/5
There were people
- 2/5
Bedding had a huge stain on the sheet and hairs on other parts of the bed. Bathroom fan was very loud.
- 2/5
Too cold. Outside air was blowing in around the heater. Elevator inspection had expired in September, 2025. No juice. I mostly wanted juice, but it was "out-of-order". Generally, it wasn't up to Wyndham standards.
- 4/5
Room was small but perfectly adequate. The bed was comfortable. A very quiet location. The locked entrance was a bit jarring, but given the "remote" location, understandable from a security aspect. However, don't expect much from the free breakfast and you won't be disappointed! I would stay there again if in the neigbourhood.
- 5/5
Best price for a very clean room with two very nicely made beds with great heat. If you're looking for luxury, this is the wrong place.
- 5/5
Impressive
- 5/5
No
- 2/5
The only handicapped accessibility was a wide bathroom door. The room was very tiny and cramped. The toilet was not ADA height. The entire parking lot was full of snow, ice and drifts. It was unplowed, including any handicapped parking. The tiny room was relatively clean, but had a huge oil stain on the mirror headboard. Breakfast was the most pathetic we have ever had. Not even a hard boiled egg for protein. Bread was generic. No hot water to make tea. Couldn't use the internet for my laptop. The TV was way up high in the corner, so only 1 of us could see much. It is located in the middle of nothing with a huge truck stop, factory and cornfield across from it. The nearest restaurant is Dairy Queen. Way overpriced and not as described.
- 5/5
Yes room was cleaned 👌 everything was fine
- 3/5
The entrance felt like I was walking into a curency exchange. Although the room was small it was very nice and clean. Would stay here again. Continental bereakfast was lacking I would say its more like a state breakfast more than a whole continent.

- 3/5
It was ok for what it was
- 5/5
The rooms were clean and the staff was amazing! I will definitely be staying here again.
- 5/5
Exactly what it needs to be: a clean, comfortable hotel just off of the highway. Driving into town for dining options takes a few minutes but is not inconvenient. We've returned to this Microtel multiple times because the rooms are cozy - that was especially important, because outdoor temperatures were negative when we stayed! There's abundant hot water for showers, a deep bathtub. We love the window bench and the mirror behind the beds, which are nostalgic for us and inviting. Much more welcoming than blank updates spaces.
- 5/5
Clean, efficient, friendly!
- 4/5
small but adequate
- 3/5
Nice small room. TV small bed solid. Big bathroom.
- 5/5
I love it is was so homely type
- 5/5
Very friendly staff
- 5/5
Everything was great. Just how I like it !
- 4/5
Not too bad at all!
- 4/5
Clean room. I stay there so often the staff know me
- 4/5
We just needed to stay to take a break from driving and get some sleep. The place is very secure, and the beds are comfy. Ice machine not working, not much personality behind the desk, and very basic breakfast. The price was right, and it had all the basics.
- 4/5
clean room, but towel should be changed newer more often
- 5/5
The hotel served its purpose. We're just looking for a clean hotel didn't need a lot of amenities. Just someplace to sleep. Get some coffee in the morning. If you're looking for a lot of glitz, this is not your hotel. If you're just looking for a place to stay with good access to all the university offerings, this is a great choice.
- 5/5
Fine
- 5/5
All as expected
- 5/5
I would definitely recommend. Very nice hotel
- 3/5
Las camas no son muy comfortables y se escucha mucho el ruido de los camiones que pasan por la autopista
- 5/5
Good
- 5/5
Just a short drive off the interstate. Very quiet location. Total security, you check in thru this bank teller type window until you are verified, then you get the key. Front door is only way in/out (except for emergency). Very peaceful stay, breakfast option could be better, but overall much better stay that many places I have been recently.
- 5/5
For the price, this was a great hotel. Very comfortable beds! If you are looking for a place to sleep, this is worth the price!
- 4/5
Clean room
- 3/5
The room quality compared to the room cost is too much
- 3/5
The hotel wasn't very clean, with foyer and elevator floors not mopped daily. Desk service isn't all that friendly. It sounded like every fan in the building is close to dying. Room smelled like vomit. On the other hand, an easy location at the outskirts of town, the breakfast was convenient and reliable.
- 4/5
.
- 5/5
Very clean
- 2/5
Room was dirty! We had crumbs in our bed and hair on the floor in the bathroom. It was terrible.
- 4/5
Nothing fancy but everything important was great. Safe and Clean.
- 5/5
Yes all was good. Seems like the queen bed was more of a double size?
- 2/5
It took a long time to check in. I've not been to a hotel that locked the front door at 5pm. You needed someone to let you in, just to check in. Really a very poor customer experience. Especially given that it's not a bad neighborhood. Additionally it was really expensive for the little room you got.
- 5/5
Clean rooms and facility, breakfast is continental so mini muffins, toast, cereal and oatmeal. Good for on the go. Have stayed there several times will stay again.
- 4/5
Great!
- 3/5
It was okayed we just needed to lay down for a few hours of sleep
- 4/5
Minimal breakfast -- bread and cold cereal.
- 4/5
Very clean in my book 😀
- 4/5
The breakfast could more selections.
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 2/5
Refused to refund 1 of the 2 nights originally booked, even with a months notice. The bathroom door had a hole in it. I called to notify and the desk seemed completely unaware. Later I noticed a bar missing from the shower, the one you might drape a wash clothes over. Lukewarm water for at least half of a shower before it finally got hot. One ice machine on the entire premises was out of order, as was one of the two juice options at breakfast. I didn’t care about juice but I did care about having ice.
- 2/5
The room was about the size of a cruise ship cabin. You could hear conversations in the next room. The heater/AC unit was too loud to run at night. And there were random knocks coming from the bathroom vent that went on for hours. Also, the elevator is scarier than the Tower of Terror. It would jerk sideways before deciding to go up. Wyndham needs to do better.
- 3/5
Getting in was a bit odd, as the door was locked. I suppose it was for safety, but still odd. The hotel is older, but works fine. We just need a place to stay for one night, so it will do the job.
- 3/5
Too much noise and the room keys stopped working every single day of my 4-day stay!
- 3/5
This is the second windom hotel that I’ve booked and will not be back .. the room wasn’t very clean and the entire experience was rather unpleasant.
- 5/5
Clean and the staff were friendly. I have no complaints about breakfast. It’s advertised as continental, and that’s what you get.
- 4/5
Quick, easy, clean, comfortable place to stay. You’ll need to get buzzed in through the front door to check in.
- 5/5
It’s a simple budget friendly place that is ALWAYS clean. Staff is nice and the breakfast is super small and simple but good enough to get a quick bite. Super well worth it!
- 5/5
Parking was great. Location was excellent. Very quiet and out of the way
- 4/5
Parking was secure, wasn’t get too.
- 5/5
Enough water pressure to wash an elephant's a$$ shiny! Rooms clean. Ample parking. Right off the highway but close to town.
- 5/5
Nice place and very convenient
- 5/5
Good place
- 5/5
Clean room. Secure building.
- 4/5
Noisy plumbing and thin walls
- 4/5
Easy parking
- 2/5
I booked this room for my brother that was caught in a storm around 11 at night. He has a dog and the amenities state that they are welcome. The person at the counter was rude, not happy this was booked through a "third party" and almost didn't let him stay.
- 4/5
Yes
- 5/5
Was only here to sleep for the night after a day of traveling and more days of travel to come. We had no problems, it was clean and quiet.
- 5/5
A clean and honestly operated hotel in Champaign.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 5/5
Excellent value. I am a budget traveler. Late arrival, early checkout. This is the nicest "budget" motel I have stayed in.
- 2/5
Staff was good, towels in the bathroom smelled as if they were already used, the Internet was horrible.
- 5/5
Large, well-lit parking lot , great price and super comfortable bed and pillows. Enough said.
- 3/5
Staff was great, rooms were a little dingy and outdated. Showers had no pressure, and there were a lot of construction folks there. Similar to a hotel eight.
- 4/5
Microtel, so you know the room won't be large. Comfortable enough, though nowhere ro hang clothes. The air conditioner is very noisy and stops and starts all the time. It keeps waking me up. The building is new, it seems, but already seems a bit faded. The bed is comfortable.
- 5/5
Front desk was very helpful. Enjoyed my stay. Did not eat breakfast because I had to hit the road.
- 5/5
Comfy bed
- 5/5
Honestly i was surprised by how nice the room was. Nice, quiet, secure building.
- 5/5
Room was clean and didn’t have road noise.
- 4/5
Na
- 5/5
Clean place to spend the night at a reasonable cost.
- 5/5
It was affordable and close to venue
- 3/5
Bathroom fan was very noisy and was on anytime the light was on. It was very annoying. Front desk had trouble finding my reservation and then gave my room to someone else after giving it to me. Another couple unlocked the door and came into the room after I had just gotten unpacked.
- 4/5
We enjoyed ou stay but we were unable to stay 2 nights as we had a family emergency and had to return home but we were charged for both nights I would appreciate a refund for one night
- 3/5
We were supposed to have a non smoking room but from the smell it was obvious someone had smoked in it
- 2/5
Room was not clean, thin walls and room smelled like smoke.
- 3/5
Just needed a decent place for the night. Location was convenient. Rooms seemed clean. The room is quite small yet met my needs. Bed and pillows were quite comfortable! Coffee in the morning was great but don't expect much for continental breakfast. I don't think they have a pool which would be the only change i'd like.
- 1/5
i will never go back to that place very rude service
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and I was only there to rest and travel on so it was a great place all arounf!
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, and helpful staff
- 5/5
Small rooms but clean and comfortable
- 2/5
Rude front desk associates and dirty room. Got a pet room and it smelled of dog urine
- 3/5
Staff was very nice .Unfortunately the toi
- 3/5
Breakfast is very basic. But it is quiet. Plenty of parking spaces.
- 5/5
It was ok.
- 5/5
Good hotel. Great staff. Clean
- 2/5
Property in poor repair. Had to change room because of mold in carpet under air conditioner. Both rooms had a bad odor.
- 5/5
Everything
- 1/5
And... the worst part. We got a carpet beetle infestation after staying there. In our car and our luggage. Horrible stay. No more discount hotels for us, especially microhotels.
- 3/5
Overall not bad. TINY rooms and the elevator was out of service. But not horrible for a roadside motel
- 5/5
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean premises!
- 4/5
Checked in went to sleep
- 5/5
The property was good and staff very nice
- 4/5
My preferred place to stay while here for work, but it seems the internet is down about half the time.
- 5/5
Beds were comfortable and welcoming. The rooms are efficiently designed to accommodate families.
- 4/5
Stay was ok
- 5/5
Very clean snd dtaff wad attentive
- 4/5
Hotel was pretty clean the toilet was loose was tge only problem but other than that it was ok
- 4/5
It was alright. We just stopped one night on our trip.
- 2/5
The hotel was cleaned. We just need a place to sleep for one night.
- 1/5
We arrived 30 minutes before check in, and just wanted to unload our stuff and sit in the lounge. Instead, he said he had 4 rooms ready, and I said you pick one for me. We were staying 7 days & this was during massive graduation ceremonies, no rooms available anywhere. Our room reeked of dog urine, the bathroom of dog feces. There were spiders, and multiple types of tiny insects in the bed. The toilet broke. We endured 2 nights of this (knowing they were fully booked). Feeling as though we might end up hospitalized with breathing problems I went to the front desk and complained vigorously. She told me that someone had been living in there long term. She found us a room about 6 hours later. The change was night and day. My husband and I have been staying there for the last 7 years whenever we come home to Illinois. Never again. Also anyone going to a hotel in mid May in Champaign Il. beware of the enormous price gouging that goes on at EVERY hotel, motel, Airbnb, in driving distance of the area.
- 5/5
No eggs, no breakfast meat and the usual boring hotel waffle with nothing to enhance it. If one is a working person requiring a hearty breakfast to start the day before heading out, find another hotel that will cater to the working man who needs fuel to last until lunch.
- 5/5
I would stay here again.
- 4/5
I wasn’t expecting the lobby to be locked all of the time. Once I found the buzzer and was handed a key card to swipe to get in, it was like any other check-in. One ice machine for three floors and the walls were pretty thin, otherwise it was a great stay after a long day of driving.
- 5/5
I didn't like the bedframe. I kept hitting my foot on the metal loop.
- 5/5
Great place to stay nice and quiet
- 5/5
Comfy
- 4/5
Great stay
- 5/5
This hotel was great. We had a comfortable bed and a lot of room. I would stay here again if we go to Champaign
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, convenient. Pet friendly (very reasonable fee). Great shower. Close to interstates. Would definitely stay again.

- 5/5
Room was nice and clean. Breakfast was good and coffee was hot
- 5/5
Super-clean fairly well-maintained hotel that's quite cheap. It's a bit off the beaten path but it's easy to drive into town without getting on the interstates.
- 4/5
Great staff
- 5/5
A nice quiet room! Had a microwave and mini fridge.
- 4/5
Not a friendly receptionist. Very perfunctory not friendly at all. I also tried to use vending machine. Got nothing after tapping my credit card twice. I will watch the bill. Worst part was unfriendly receptionist.
- 5/5
Great for someone on the road.
- 4/5
Room had horrible “musty” smell; bed was very uncomfortable, and LOUD. Sounded like mattress or box spring was made of crumpled metal.
- 1/5
Gross
- 1/5
The heat didn’t work at all. It was very cold in the rooms. Also the employee was very rude. Locked us out of our room several times complaining to have card problems. The next time it was we got a complaint about a tv being loud. Never stay here.
- 3/5
The only issue i had was that hotels.com lied and said there was no rooms available when i booked for tuesday and it was rooms available and i had to pay regular price instead the normal price and no apologies for the inconvience
- 2/5
It was a very nice place, but very noisy
- 4/5
The bathroom sink sprayed all over the countertop when you turned it on. That was really the only complaint... The price was right, it was clean, the bed was comfortable, there wasn't a lot to choose from for breakfast but for the price it was great.
- 4/5
Fairly quiet and clean. Property could be updated. Not really near anything.
- 5/5
Located north of town, is a quiet area, the breakfast had several options, we would stay here again
- 2/5
The service employees eating out where patrons are is unprofessional. Your light breakfast is rude, especially when you increased hotels fees during U of I mom's weekend. Your reservation people could be more welcoming and not throwing out your policies.
- 4/5
It’s time for the hotel to update their towels and linens. Kinda falling apart.
- 5/5
We arrived late-at night had no problem checking in
- 3/5
Didnt get a receipt. Not a very good breakfast.
- 4/5
You are paying for a room. No other amenities at the hotel.
- 5/5
Very pleasant stay.
- 5/5
GREAT. Good Clean hotel just of interstate.
- 5/5
❤️❤️
- 3/5
Tiny rooms. Accessible rooms did not have a roll in shower as advertised on-line. We stayed two nights but they deactivated our keys after the first night. We couldn't even get in the front door the second day! The service staff was friendly and helpful. Passed on the breakfast as it was not very appealing. The walls were paper thin and we could hear the couple next door as though we were in the room with them. We had to keep the TV on all night to cover their talking. We won't be coming back.
- 5/5
This motel was a pleasant surprise for the money, clean, cozy...Ice water/coffee available...Continental breakfast good and plentiful...Staff efficient...Convenient drive to shopping and restaurants but on the outskirts, where it was quiet and safe feeling...Would definitely stay here again!
- 5/5
Excellent! Clean room and comfortable bed. Just off interstate for convenience
- 5/5

Good, clean, cheap room. No frills. Continental breakfast could have been a little more. Would definitely stay again for the price though

The check in wasn't great. You check in through a window in the enclosed doorway. The door to the lobby is locked so you have to wait in the enclosed doorway. There was a note on the window that said 'Back in 5 minutes.' We waited more than 5 minutes and no one came to check us in. A guest ended up letting us into the lobby. The person checking us in wasn't friendly at first, but when we asked about dining in the area she was very helpful. My only other complaint was that there was only one ice machine and it was out of order. There was a gas station next to the hotel that sold ice for $3. I would suggest either they invest in at least one more ice machine, or if the current machine is out of order, offer a $5 discount on the room and inform them of that ice is available at the gas station for $3. The room was small but comfortable and clean.

Honestly it was adorable room was small it was semi nice. Only had three problems. the walls are SUPER thin!!! so we were woken up to children crying in the room next door and the parent yelling at them. Neither ice machine worked. So that was a bummer aleo. Also my partner woke up to a huge bug crawling on them!!! we’ve never had that happen at any hotel we’ve stayed at… besides that it was lovely.

Heater did not heat. Pillows were hard. Breakfast was somewhat skimpy. Room was clean and comfortable.
