The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The water pressure for the shower was good. Nice variety choices for breakfast. Only issue I had was in the morning when checking out she wouldn’t print my receipt stating I booked my room thru Expedia, only to find out the same person printed a receipt for my sister a few minutes before and she had also went thru Expedia.. otherwise everything else was fine.

Check-in was smoother than the gravy on the breakfast biscuits, and we were greeted with warm cookies—which is basically the hospitality equivalent of a hug from grandma. The next morning, breakfast came through clutch: waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, and coffee that was not only drinkable but actually enjoyable. That’s a rare hotel breakfast achievement worthy of a standing ovation. The bed was comfortable enough that I briefly considered extending my stay indefinitely. Plenty of TV channels kept the remote busy, and the location is fantastic—surrounded by enough restaurants that deciding where to eat was the hardest part of the trip. Checkout may have been the easiest I’ve ever experienced. No lines, no hassle, no awkward front desk small talk. Just a quick text and a “piece out” as we hit the road. Comfortable rooms, friendly staff, easy check-in and checkout, solid breakfast, and cookies. What more could you want? Highly recommend. Would absolutely stay here again—and yes, I’d come back for the cookies alone.

It is literally a crime to charge $899 for a room that on a normal weekend would be $165. For anyone, myself as a grandmother, wanting to see their child graduate from University of Illinois this was reprehensible. This was a perfect example of price gouging by Radisson.

The person checking us in at the front desk was kind and welcoming. He genuinely seemed to enjoy his job. Room was clean and comfortable temp when we got in there. Slightly odd smell in the room but was tolerable. We had an issue with the bathroom sink and they had it fixed very quickly. Complimentary breakfast looked decent. Probably could’ve added some breakfast/granola bars for a quick take away option, but they did have mini muffins and fruit to grab and go. Nothing fancy but overall a nice, updated place to sleep for the night.

The price and location are good. However, the card key did not work the next day, and the room not cleaned out at all, and when we went ask, we were told that the room will only be cleaned every 3 nights (we stayed 2 nights). The AC system control is old. Light is not very adequate.

The breakfast was very good, and the seating area was nice. The pool area was very nice. The room was clean with no major signs of damage. There was severe weather in the area and there was no warning or directions from the staff on how to ensure safety.

The hotel was adequate for business travelers. However, one of the treadmills in the fitness room was not operable and the other didn’t register the correct mph (off by 3 mph).

This is one of the last best Country Inn & Suites locations I have stayed at. The staff at all of them are still great, but the property condition at the Champaign location reminds me of why I used to regularly book this company. Bloomingtons locations cheaped out on their renovations, and I heard Springfield’s location is too pricey for what it is, along with a couple of them in the Twin Cities area in Minnesota. This one stands out in a better way, much better for the price I paid.

I traveled 10+ hours by vehicle to be told that the hotel does not take pets. Other Country Inn & Suites accepts small pets. The manager is terrible and unwilling to compromise yet they would charge a $125 for a pet if a guest "sneaks one in". Totally ridiculous. I had to pay for a room that I did not use. ALL of the surrounding hotels accepts pets for a fee. I had to go to the Holiday Inn Express in Rantoul which was a better deal after reading the other reviews about the Country Inn and Suites location being bed bug infected. I will never book this location ever again.

The pillows were the flattest, most uncomfortable pillows in existence. The shower curtain would not close completely on either side. Overall, the remodel you can tell many decisions were made to save money, but oddly enough the entire building was 74° or warmer to include the rooms which was just overly hot to try to sleep in. I actually had to turn the air conditioning on in December in Illinois in order to get the room cool enough to sleep. The staff was wonderful. The common areas were clean. The breakfast was decent. There could have been some more choices available and the schedule seemed a little bit wonky but it was over the holidays.

Everytime we come to Champaign for an Illini game, my Husband and I stay at this property. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I also LOVE the fresh cookies 😍. It is very clean, i feel safe and there are no of worries. The breakfast has a variety of items that are delicious.

I have stayed here several times in the last few years and it never fails to satisfy. The accommodations are excellent. The atmosphere is pleasant. The staff is conscientious. And the location is close to major roads and also the great downtown area. Great place to spend a night or two.

The bed and pillows are so comfortable, and I loved the adorable little touches with the fancy toilet paper flower and tissue art. The chocolate chip cookies are the cherry on top. My only tiny complaint is to get better shower heads. The pressure is great, but they could be upgraded a little to match the rest of the updates. Staff was very friendly.

Due to my own mistakes, I had booked another hotel but had the wrong dates. They had not rooms available for the nights I requested, so I with Hotel.com and Country Inn and Suites The rates were very high due to Homecoming, but I booked and did have an enjoyable time. Only problem was an additional fee of $100 issued and the hotel has no record of this. im not happy with this

A wall beam and picture fell on my husband while he was sleeping. While the front desk associates were friendly and wanted to help, the manager only authorized half off the room rate. I wanted the cost of the room refunded as this could have been a major injury if the beam struck his head. We will be following up with our family attorney if we can’t resolve this with the hotel property directly. Aside from this incident, the staff was friendly and the hotel was clean.

Very clean room and staff were excellent. We stayed for a football game. The price was more than what we paid for a 4-star Manhattan hotel, but I guess you have to expect that on the football game weekends. At the normal price point, this hotel is a really good value!

Maid walked into our room without knocking and saw my boyfriend completely undressed. I called the front desk and asked to talk to a supervisor. She said the supervisor would be in the next day. I have not received a call from anyone in regards to this. The assistant manager told me the maid does not understand due to a language barrier. Completely unacceptable. I will never stay there ever again. If the maid was a man, and saw me undressed, I would have called the police.

Love the cleanliness of the hotel and its close to UIUC (12 minutes by car), wallmart and target and all restaurants. I did not like when i checked in the laundry cannot be used. But the bed is so comfortable.

The property itself was perfectly fine. Clean, neat, very friendly staff, everything perfectly fine. I’d stay again. However, the price was $360 for one night. And this is due to the fact that the University of Illinois move-in weekend was taking place and I feel like every hotel jacks up their prices during big events, football games, move-in weekends, parents weekends, etc. And I don’t think that’s fair. Parents are being targeted. I don’t think a parent moving their child in for college should have to pay $360 for one night in a hotel. To be fair, all of the hotels are doing this, not this hotel only. I don’t understand why it is allowed. Again, my experience at this hotel was perfectly lovely, but I know the regular going rate for Thursday night is more in the $100 or maybe $120 range, not $360, triple the price. Again, all the hotels are doing it, but country Inn and suites has a chance to break that mold, and they are not doing it.

The room was nice in terms of layout with a seating area and a different bedroom. Breakfast was pretty good as well along with the coffee. We got room service on the first day but not on the second. What needs improvement: mattress was definitely too soft and the fitted bed sheet kept coning off; AC located in bedroom - very disturbing while trying to sleep; toilet paper holder on back wall at commode.

We booked through Expedia onsite at the hotel. Then they couldn’t find the reservation and then said they didn’t have a room available. The reason we booked it was because the front desk guy said they had one room left.

Comfortable 1-night stay but what I want to praise is the FRONT DESK STAFF! Two ladies were super friendly upon check-in. Then employees earned 12 out of 10 when I called days later to say I left my pillow in my room. One person tracked it down and called me back to say it was there. When I went back through town days later at 9pm, a lady and a gentleman were so kind and friendly to find where it was stored and return it to me. I’ll definitely stay there again the next time I need a hotel in Champaign!

Friendly and quick checkin

The gentleman at the front desk was very polite and welcoming despite the fact that we arrived at a late hour. The property, the lobby, the elevator and the room were all clean. clean The beds and pillows were quite comfortable. The shower had bottles of shampoo and conditioner. The water pressure was decent and the water was hot. The AC worked well. We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast so I cant comment on that. Overall, we had no complaints with our one night stay.

The hotel was okay and I have no complaints about the room or staff. What I am having difficulty with is that I was charged more than what I expected to pay. My booking through Hotels.com gave me a final price that I would pay at the hotel and then I paid at least $20.00 more upon check-in. Also, I have yet to be refunded my $100.00 incidentals fee and cannot connect with a live person to ask about it. I get AI or the call gets dropped, or I am told by a virtual assistant, “I didn’t get that”. So frustrating!

There weren't a lot of guests there Sunday night, yet I was so appreciative of the variety of food offerings available for breakfast the next morning.

The check in was very long as took over 45 min. I had to take my luggage to the room without any help.

Liked: easy access; breakfast; breakfast area. Disliked: lighting in room and bathroom was very dim; counter space in bathroom was very limited (but could be because we were in a handicap accessible room - not by choice). Otherwise it was ok.

Staff was very friendly, the property itself looked well-kept, our room was spacious and clean, but the beds were not good at all. Several times we woke up thru the night from our backs hurting and we just had a tough time getting comfortable. I don't exactly regret booking this stay but I will be considering comfier options from this point on

We stay here often when in town. Clean and conveniently located. A couple of minor issues this trip. The breakfast (sausage gravy) didn’t get refilled Friday morning with nearly an hour left in breakfast hours. The refrigerator in our room didn’t get cold. We had some ants in the room, but they were going to have maintenance check it out. They weren’t bad so I didn’t mention it until we checked out. One time problems wouldn’t keep us from staying here again on a future visit.

Everything was great until breakfast we wanted to make the kids waffles and we told the person taking care of breakfast the batter was out and she never brought any more out. Then we went up to our room and I found a big big crawling on the floor.

I would not book with this hotel ever again. The check in process was confusing. They had paper receipt for the agreement to have card on file for possible damages. Clerk read something that included pets, but then also remarked, "I don't know why they have that in there, we don't even allow pets." Then there was an electronic screen, that had me initial again for the possible damage coverages, but also had another $250 for possible pet damage, which was already stated they don't allow. The room had a smell to it. The bed was hard and very uncomfortable. The lights in the bathroom had a horrible flicker. Clerk had no bulbs to replace the one that was bad. There were loud noises in the hall well after midnight. We needed to sleep for our long drive. This was very frustrating. I personally checked out with the clerk early that morning. Asked for a receipt, and was told they couldn't print me one and that Expedia would give me a receipt. Yet all of the other 5 hotels we stayed with on our drive willingly offered a receipt even though we would get one from Expedia. Then 2 hours into our drive I got a text from the hotel reminding me when checkout time was even though I had already checked out. I looked at the reviews after this bad experience with this hotel. I should have read them before booking. Review responses on their site are copied and pasted. Every single response was generated exactly the same.

No sink stopper, toilet paper holder, or bar soap in the bathroom. No breakfast meat or waffles at breakfast. Hotel was quiet, room was clean. Overall, we were not impressed by the hotel. Many restaurants and shopping options nearby.

Rooms were clean and comfortable BUT there were ants all over the breakfast food. Then the kitchen staff gave me attitude when I left the bowls of cereal on the side after telling my kids not to eat them

The stay was horrific. I took hotels 8.8 recommendation and was extremely disappointed. Usually they are spot on! This one was 6.0. The sheets were stained, bugs in the room! Not sure if it was a roach. The police were called for domestic violence. A party in the parking lot! The bathrooms looked like they put lipstick on a pig! They put tile and kept an old tub and shower! The chemicals they used to cover up the smells in the room was over powering caused a sore throat and asthma issues. 50 percent of the breakfast wasn’t available or turned on. The room had a strong chemical smell. There was hair folded into my towel. Yes it happens, but the property was run down and dirt caked in the corners. That means I was sensitive to everything. Had we not been so exhausted we would have asked for another room. The breakfast was lacking healthy options such as hard boiled eggs and plain yogurt.

The hotel was very clean. Our room smelled clean and fresh. Not the damp moldy smell you get at most hotels when the ac is running. The sheets and beds were soft and condo. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. Best hotel stay ever!!!

No WiFi! How on earth does a hotel exist in 2025 without WiFi?!?? We tried the password again and again and it did not work. The front desk said “that happens sometimes.” Unacceptable. Don’t stay here if you need WiFi! (And who doesn’t?)

The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel looks like it needs some maintenance. The door to our bathroom stuck in the doorframe. The sink faucet was the loudest I've ever heard (I nicknamed it Niagara Falls). There is only one hook to hang anything, no towel racks. The toilet paper holder is in an inconvenient place, it is hard to reach. And lastly, the tub floor is slippery and there's nothing to hold on to, not good for seniors. Not trying to nitpick, but all these little things add up. The bathroom needs a complete redesign.

Mini fridge didn't work. The air conditioner didn't work. The staff in the morning when I went to check out was very rude and he shut the door on us when we were checking out. Could've been a better experience if the air conditioner worked and the mini fridge!

Property is clean and comfortable. Location is convenient to restaurants, services and interstate. Would definitely stay again!

From the start our checking was great. The desk staff was so friendly. Room was great, very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing. Most hotel breakfast are good to Ok. This was really good. Good fresh and hot. We got a check out text to remind us text is at noon. The only thing I didn’t like every 15 min housekeeping was knocking on the door starting at 9:00. That was the ONLY bad thing we were up. But baseball didn’t start until 4:00. So we were planning on hanging out in the room until then. But checked out early because it was getting annoying.

Overall it was good. Decent breakfast. The only thing was there was no soap in the bathroom. I asked the front desk to give us some but they were out of soap. So we had to use the shampoo they provided as the soap.

The staff was excellent. It was wonderfully quiet. The only thing was the room smelt a little funny and the bathroom tile and floor needs to be re-grouted in some areas. Food was good against staff was wonderful.

Nice for the value and clean. Carpet in stairs and front entry smelled like stale smoke. No extra blanket. Shower curtain rod isn’t secure. Overall stay was ok for our trip to see family.

Nice quiet place

Stayed two nights and in two different rooms. First night was great. Second night was not. Staff is friendly and breakfast is good. My issue was my second night in room 112. There is an outside light for the landscaping if I had to guess, but it shines directly into the window. I tried to cover it in a makeship tie with the curtains but it did not work. The picture I took was taken right around 11:45pm. It was super super bright and lit up the whole room. Not pleasant.

The check in was sloppy and non-professional. We found out about the $100 deposit at the desk. The person helping us told us we should be refunded in 2-3 days. The accommodations were fine other than our check in.

Disrespectful and unwelcoming service at the reception desk. Upon checking in, the hotel presented a "note of responsibility for fees" with the fee amounts left unspecified. My refusal to sign this blank document led the on-duty manager to threaten cancellation of my reservation at 9:15 PM, following my four-hour drive. To avoid this, I proposed specifying a mutually agreeable dollar amount to fill in the blank, which I was willing to sign. The next day, my attempt to address this problematic check-in experience with the hotel manager resulted in a lecture on company policy, and I couldn't make it clear that my objection was solely to the undisclosed fees on the note. Therefore, I will not be staying at this hotel in the future.

Overall, a very nice property. The fellow who was working the front desk and checked us in had zero customer service skills what’s so ever and was kind of a jerk too. This hotel actually charges charges $100 fee for incidentals and then if hotel staff decides that everything’s OK with the room they will credit you. Most hotels just place a hold this one actually charges and there’s a sign on the counter that says it. Pool is clean and nice. The breakfast bar is great. The area around the hotel seems nice. Pictures show two washers/dryers. There is one of each and the dryer was out of service. We told it was repaired the day we checked in however after adding coins it is still broken. Had to find a laundromat to dry clothes.

We enjoyed our stay at this location, except for the breakfasts. No eggs on Sunday, and the little cheese omelets on Monday were a joke. Our room was comfortable and the hotel was in a good location for our planned activities. We would have preferred a separate switch for the bathroom fan - the fan was very loud and unpleasant to have running during a bath or shower.

Breakfast was pretty sad. Also had many ants in my room.

Room and bed was comfortable. Chairs were hard. Refrigerator needed defrosting. Ants in the bathroom and it took a good 5 min of running water before it got hot. A deposit of $100 was put on my bill for “incidentals” which I was told was due to a recent renovation and guests trashing the rooms. Since it was just my 94 yr old mother and I, this seemed unnecessary and I have not yet got a receipt showing it was refunded. In fact, I was told the staff couldn’t give me a receipt since I’d booked online. I have yet to receive one.
