I don’t know why I had so much trouble calling the property for the shuttle pickup. It took 3 calls before someone answered and even then I was put on hold. My arrival was after 9PM .

Great place to stay

So when you call the airport shuttle and are directed to wait at curb 2 for pick up , be prepared to wait.. You will see the other hotel shuttles that are within a mile or so rotate through a couple of times before the Hampton one arrives . It’s my only negative comment. The property is immaculate the shuttle was new and check in and out was efficient.. simply allow for extra time to get to and from the terminal especially during traffic rush hours.

This is my preferred chain of hotels and I always stay at Hampton Inn Washington-Dulles Int'l Airport South when I visit. It's close to the airport and walking distance from restaurants. Jacob checked me in. His service rates 5/5.

Breakfast and staff really great. Room location and site location really super also. Bathroom was a bit difficult to negotiate with only one hook and very small towel rod. More hooks and rods would make the un-dressing showering and dressing much easier and more comfortable .

Breakfast was OK, but the meat and eggs were extremely cheap and scrambled eggs seemed instant. Just very cheap compared to several stays in years past, but excellent staff.

Everything was wonderful couldn’t have been better shuttle bus pick us up from airport. Welcome when we got there my two Waters being a member much appreciated. Shuttle bus back to the airport in the morning and a lovely clean room.

staff was super friendly and accommodating and breakfast was one of the nicest hotel breakfasts I've had with the food.

Facility was nice and clean. Breakfast was good with many options (waffle station always a big hit with kids). Pool was small but just fine, outdoor patio was pretty, gym was small but nice and clean and esthetically pleasing with enough equipment to get in a good workout. Staff was so very kind and courteous. Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel lost power within minutes of getting to our room. It was out for hours and after a long day of traveling it was frustrating to not be able to charge our phones or have air conditioning. We woke up with it 78 degrees in the room and still no power.

We had a pretty poor experience at this hotel. The indoor pool (the only reason I booked this hotel) was closed for 2 days because it was being cleaned, and staff had no idea when it would reopen. Both elevators broke the day after we checked in, and we were on the 7th floor, so that was unpleasant. Worst of all, when we came back to the room on the day of check-out (before check-out time and before we had actually checked out), housekeeping staff were carrying our things out of the room. Luckily, we got back before they finished, or else I'm not sure what would've happened to our stuff. The hotel was clean and in a good location, but I wouldn't stay again based on this experience.

I arrived at 9:30 pm. It was easy to reach a person at the hotel who promptly sent a shuttle to get me. Note there are several Hampton in the area and you need to know the address of where you are going. Front desk clerk was friendly. Gave me bottled water. Loved the bedding and shower pressure. The return to the airport was only available on the hour. Both drivers were so nice. Breakfast started early and had lots of options.

Lots of construction happening . My fiancé and I wanted a getaway for Valentine’s Day but I guess our suite was underneath part of the construction so we were waking up to noise every morning. For the amount we paid the amenities were not up to par.

After missing our connecting flight from Istanbul Turkey to Orlando, Fl, the Hampton was an excellent choice to rest for the night. They checked us in at 11:30 PM and made sure the shuttle was ready for us at 7:00 AM. The room was clean and comfortable. I've always loved the Hilton brand!

The room was clean and looks like modernly renovated. Close to king spa, museum and 20 minutes to the mall. Breakfast was good and free and the breakfast lady was so nice. The only downside is construction is ongoing. You will not sleep in late morning hours with the drilling or if you have babies just fyi. Overall a good stay.

I want to thank Rebecca for helping us out and keeping us calm while we got stranded by the airport.. She reassured us that shuttle was going to pick us up, she even made sure that the driver knew are names to make sure we were in.. the drivers were amazing super friendly and helpful.. Now this is what I call a continental breakfast, regular waffles blueberry waffles miniatures or single waffles, omelets sausage links cereals boiled eggs coffee orange juice you name it they had it it was a huge spread, food was amazing!! In our room they had not miniature bottles but they actually had big bottles of body wash, conditioner and shampoo.. we will definitely be staying here again! Thank you staff y'all where amazing sincerely Texas

I was placed on the newly renovated 7th floor. Unfortunately, its newness was clear from the offloading of odors from the products, such as the chemical smell of the new carpet in the hallway. Some kind of hammering began fairly early in the morning, from down the hallway or on another floor. I felt as though the interior designers had not actually consulted with users. For example, I like to take baths, but the liquid bath/hair products were hung so high on the wall, permanently affixed, I had to stand up from the tub (each time) to get a dab on my hand. There was no handhold at the tub level, just the shower level. The lights in the bedroom section were so low, I had to use my cell phone to adjust the thermostat. But the ones in the entrance area and bathroom were so bright, I felt like I was on a stage (and the nightlights there glared into the bedroom...I will bring masking tape to cover them if I come back). Finally, at one point in the cycle of the HVAC system, the noise was so loud, I couldn't sleep. And the fan could not be cut off. So I opted to sleep with the system turned off, under a double layer of blankets (taking one from the adjacent bed). I likely will not return to this hotel.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The hot tub is gone and the pool was ice cold.

Front desk staff service was bad. Upon check in the host seemed like he couldn’t be bothered to check any guests in. Once I walked through the hotel to my room there was a STRONG odor. Almost the smell of paint thinner. I did see one sign tucked away in the lobby saying that there are active renovations. Would have been great to know before booking. On the 6th floor where I was staying it was so strong I had to rush into the room. Luckily the room was clean and stocked. Anytime i’d leave the room the smell would hit you right away. Breakfast was 2/10 even for hotel breakfast it was bad. Overall it seemed like the property is not cared for. Housekeepers were very kind and friendly. They are the only reason the review is a 2/5 instead of a 1/5

The usual modern budget hotel room compromises were in evidence: the sad assortment of paper-thin bed pillows, the thermostat locked at a temperature too hot for sleeping, the slightly worn carpet, and the missing ceiling fan in the bathroom to name a few. Hot breakfast options were limited but palatable. Recommended for short stays.

Also, Bobby, the man who drove the shuttle and dropped me off at Dulles Airport in the morning, was courteous, friendly, and very professional (as was the man who drove the shuttle from the airport when I arrive, but I was tired and unfortunately his name has slipped my mind). The room was clean and refreshing and, although it's a minor detail, the soap was just really nice. The front desk was absolutely helpful in every way whenever I called with questions. Overall, I every aspect of my stay was great because I really felt like everyone at this hotel was warm, thoughtful and welcoming to a weary traveller! Thank y'all so much for everything!

This is an older hotel, the rooms are okay, cheap linens, nothing special. But they are clean. Staff is friendly and helpful, from cleaning staff to late night front desk.

One of the front desk staff had a snippy attitude. Plus the front entry was having some work done and we were not notified before hand and had to walk around the building in the rain to get to our car that was parked in front.

Breakfast had basics but was delicious! It is a bit further away than other hotels and the shuttle only travels once an hour which can be tricky for some people depending on timing.

I stayed there with my two children (ages 14 and 10) and unfortunately did not have a good night’s sleep. The beds were small—double size instead of queen—and the room did not include a sofa bed as expected. There was also construction in front of the lobby entrance with no signage to help guests find their way. The lobby appeared poorly maintained; it hadn’t been vacuumed, and the furniture looked quite old. In addition, the elevators and much of the building smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, which made the stay even more uncomfortable.

I just had a short one night stay to catch an early flight. The walls are a bit thin and I could hear the neighbor’s tv (or maybe they just had it up really loud lol). But, at 9pm ish they turned it down and it wasn’t a problem for sleeping. The hotel is a bit worn , but in pretty good shape. It felt clean, spacious, and smelled pleasantly like nothing. Would stay here again.

I mis booked 3 hotel rooms a week ahead for a work trip, with plenty of time to refund it and get it rebooked. I even bought 3 rooms with the correct date and stayed there. NO effort was made to correct this... Terrible customer service. You guys should be ashamed.

A bar of soap under the shelf sink. Could see it from the bathroom. Had a hard time getting up from the couch. Spring might have been shot. I will not stay here on my next trip.

We needed a shuttle pickup at 12:30 AM. There was no problem. The hotel had a list of "walk to" restaurants. Paisano's Pizza was a 5 minute walk. Their food was delicious. We bought hot subs, brought them back to the hotel and ate in the breakfast area.

Room was clean and much bigger than usual, which was nice! The only downside and reason it’s not five stars is the reckless shuttle driver who ran a very long red light hanging a high speed left across traffic to get into the hotel area off US 50. It was extra reckless given that we had an infant with us and there was no way to secure an infant in the shuttle.

I placed near the elevator and it was noisy a good part of the night. Then in the morning the house staff started vacuuming before 8 AM the hallways and surrounding rooms.

Hampton Inn is my go-to whenever I travel. I have stayed at this Chantilly location numerous times.

Always use this place when we travel up north. (about 10 stays in the last 5 years) Never disappointed!

My only problem was communication. I had trouble finding the correct spot to find the shuttle at Dulles airport, and that was probably the responsibility of the airport as much as it was for the Hampton Inn.

The room was clean. Front desk staff was nice at check in and check out, we didn’t really need to talk with staff much during our stay, only to request more towels. The beds were not very comfortable. The breakfast options were great! I think they had something for everyone. Coffee, milk, juice, fruits, yogurt, milk, cereal, oatmeal, scones, bagels, bread for toast or sandwich if you wanted, you can make a fresh waffle, eggs, sausage…. And I’m sure more that I missed.

I have frequently stayed at Linthicum Heights hotels by Marshall BWI Airport. Hotels that cater to airport traffic, but only a 15-minute drive into Baltimore. Good value. As for DC, lately I have been using hotels near Dulles International Airport. Yes, these are further out, but well connected by Northern Virginia's extensive highways. Arlington, NW Washington are 30-45 minutes away. I have found hotel deals near Dulles, in Herndon, Sterling, or Chantilly. Often "fully refundable" when booking, with comfy rooms, free breakfast and parking. My recent stay at Hampton Inn Washington-Dulles fit this bill. Great rate for highly-rated hotel. Comfy room. Tasty breakfast. Near IAD, Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Annex, and hotel offers shuttle to both. Lots of good restaurants close by. Other tourism attractions nearby, like VA wine country, Civil War sites. Staff was courteous, helpful. Night reception Rebecca assisted when I called re: late arrival. Jessica cheerfully checked me in when I got there, and Kyle gave mobility-challenged me extra time on departure. Thank You!

If I needed anything staff said to let them know. Comfortable bed and clean. Lots of breakfast choices, the breakfast area was well kept and tended to assure food choices were filled.

The rooms are not sound proof, it was so noisy from outside and other rooms. We had a terrible experience and couldn’t sleep because our neighboring room mates were partying until 3Am and they were screaming and had loud music. No issues with the Hotel cleanliness, breakfast or staff.

In the morning, breakfast was supposed to be open 6:00-9:00. There was no staff and breakfast did not open until 6:30. There were about 15 people waiting during this time and the lobby coffee pot was empty. Most that were waiting did not get breakfast as we had to leave for airport. Very poor!!

I enjoyed everything about this hotel—except the washing machine on the second floor. I had a gym bag full of dirty clothes in my car that got musty over the summer. So I planned to wash these gym clothes last night at the hotel. The posted instructions state that powder detergent should go inside the machine, while liquid detergent belongs in the side compartment. However, the machine didn’t dispense any liquid detergent, and so my clothes didn’t come out clean. I ran two wash cycles trying to get these clothes clean —the second with bleach I bought nearby—but even that remained untouched in the compartment after the cycle ended.

There needs to be additional hooks or hangers in the shower room so that a person can hang towels or overnight kits for personal use items while in the shower.

I had to go back downstairs and wait in line another 15 minutes to get it sorted. The second room was a King, but it was handicap accessible. Despite the mix-up and slow elevators (the hotel was clearly packed), the overall stay was pleasant. The shower had great hot water and the floor was quiet at night. One suggestion: the hotel should consider using deep pocket sheets. Ours didn’t fit the mattress properly and kept popping off, which was frustrating. Otherwise, the stay was comfortable.

The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The front desk agents were wonderful, especially Jeseka Karas. It's because of her wonderful customer service and helpful attitude that our trip to DC was perfect. The free shuttle service to the airport, local restaurants, and Smithsonian Udvar-Hazy Center was incredibly convenient. Our drivers, Alberto and Francois, were also wonderful, friendly, and professional. I highly recommend staying at This Hampton Inn.

Kyle at the front desk was an amazing help and made us feel very welcomed and accommodated. Breakfast is simple and fine for a quick free eat in the morning from 6 to 10am. They do allow cats and dogs here which is one of the main reasons we stayed and you would have never known that it was a pet friendly hotel. Very clean.
