This hotel was disgusting. The rooms were nasty with stains on the mattress and sheets. It looked like it had never been cleaned. The sheets had rips in them. The towels and bathroom were unsanitary. We checked out early and found a different hotel to stay in because the property was so nasty.

I enjoyed my stay it's just waiting for an hour or so after the expected check in time was an inconvenience. I was celebrating my birthday and would love to stay again. But an efficient check in time would be preferred than waiting for hours after. I should have received a discount for the night but none was offered
- 1/5
I was put in 3 rooms because the rooms were so horrible. Lights just hanging down not attached, bedside table was on the ground, washcloths filthy, ketchup stains all over wall, sitting rooms all stained and nasty
- 1/5

Location The front desk clerk was nowhere to be found had to wait awhile for service
- 0.5/5
Nothing We were extremely unhappy with our stay with you! The room had dirty clothes under the bed, the TV only got maybe 10 channels and they weren't anything we would like. The breakfast was cold. The gravy felt like it had just come out the refrigerator. The toilet kept running all night. I complained to the front desk, but nothing was done. I will never stay again, or recommend you! Very disappointed!
- 5/5
Shower was messed up on the hot /cold but we figured it out and shower head was too low ..was perfect for a dwarf ?
- 1/5
The walls and furniture were filthy. We asked for extra towels and the had bare spots all over them. There were people in the parking lot working in cars. The entire stay was horrible.
- 3/5
clean and quiet enough. elevator is super slow and annoying and the included breakfast does leave a little to be desired. not an extravagant stay by any means but also can't really complain
- 4/5
Location to my destination Shower was very slippery and the bars weren't in convenient spots , and the shower door didn't stay closed

Room and towel was dirty. It appeared they didn't clean between guests.
- 0.5/5
The room smelled of mold, TV didn’t work, towels dirty or stained (unsure). Front desk staff unable to speak good English and was unable to understand what we were telling him about the complaints.
- 2/5
Do not recommend this property. The guy at the counter had no shoes on and Hardly talked, he didn’t seem to know what’s going on. Not very clean at all and like every other review the tvs in the rooms do not work at all. The room smelled bad and had stains on the sheets. That being said we stayed one night and cancelled our other two at this property and had no issues getting a refund, they were nice about it. Showers were the best part of the stay they were actually pretty nice. I would not go back though, there are better options close to this location for about 10 bucks more a night.
- 0.5/5
The room was filthy, broken tv (looked liked it was hit with a baseball bat, bathroom shower had no water, the filth was inexcusable, graffiti written on mirror, bed was arched like sleeping on a bag of potatoes, the living room rug and couches were dirt
- 1/5
Rooms were not cleaned. Blankets not on beds , no towels. In room.hallways smell of smoke, loud noises, televisions did not work due to connection issues they said. Beds were very uncomfortable. I did not feel comfortable or safe here.
- 0.5/5
The rooms sucked the TVs didn't work. There where cops there 3 times one for a person died
- 3/5
Friendly courteous staff. Convenient location. Some maintenance issues, including musty hallways, broken toilet seat, missing sofa cushions, no remote for one tv, no batteries in the remote for the other tv, red stains in bathtub, shoe molding separating from the walls. The heavy heeled gentleman in the room above me woke me up 5 times going to the bathroom. Other than that it was a pleasant stay. The included breakfast had waffles & syrup, cereal (no milk), juice, coffee with cream & sugar, and gravy. For $90+ I was hoping for a little nicer, but it was ok for me, a single male, one night stay. For the record I did not notify management of any issues.
- 5/5
The staff was friendly and focused on making my stay to my satisfaction. It was in a convenient location. The room was clean and peaceful N/A
- 1/5
The floors was nasty. My room didn’t have any couches. I requested to be moved to another room, but was promised they would bring couches… I checked out a day early

No Internet, No working TVs, no alarm clock, romm telephone was dead and had no dial tone.
- 2/5
The location The T.V wasn’t working. I’ve never in my life even as a kid stayed at a hotel and didn’t have T.V I ordered a king size bed on line and when I got to the hotel the employee told me they don’t have any more. So I had to settle. I wasn’t up but I was a little disappointed. The breakfast was horrible and the floor i stayed on was strong smell of marijuana.
- 1/5
Room was dirty, television only had news &sports channels. Walls was dirty, chairs look like someone vomit on it
- 1/5
Elevator dirty with a wet floor sign always in the elevator Pool not working Breakfast was like prison food Mold on air registers in room Patrons smoking pot in parking lot
- 1/5
The rooms were very dirty—there were rusty items that could easily be replaced. Honestly, I wouldn't stay here again.
- 1/5
So dirty. Gross. Dont stay here
- 3/5
Hotel need to be remodeled hotel is old the rooms and the bed and the TVs and the furniture it's inadequate I will give it to Stars room service you will have to ask for more towels more soap
- 2/5
Location & Price The WiFi had a horribly weak signal. The TV was hard to operate and only had 6-7 channels none of which were networks. The noise from someone stomping around in the room above us kept us up most of night. The Breakfast consisted of watered down apple and orange juice, The milk for cold cereal was spoiled. There was no eggs or toast, bagels or muffins, which are the usual breakfast stuff at a hotel. When I brought these short comings the girls at the front desk they didn’t care and blew me off!!
- 1/5
The desk clerk was nice and professional but the room was very dirty and the elevator was broken. Only one ice maker works and it's on the top floor.
- 5/5
The staff is very nice and professional, rooms are very clean also location is great. I would recommend to all also I will choose them for my stay N/A
- 2/5
Room was clean but bathroim had stains everywhere. Shower valve was puy in wrong so only a luke warm shower both days. People hanging out in parking lit at 4am when i left.
- 1/5
The heater for the bathtub wasn’t working, it was a horrible experience
- 0.5/5
Nothing Old furniture, smell not very clean
- 1/5
Terrible experience. The elevator was not in service so we had to walk up 4 floors to find a nasty room. Literally long hairs on the bed. The hallways smelled like weed. The indoor pool was dry as a bone. We left within about 20 minutes. As we were walking out, another couple was leaving too because it was disgusting. Thanks Expedia for getting our money back.
- 3.5/5
The property was close to the hospital and downtown for my contract, front desk friendly. The hotel needs renovations. The rooms are outdated as a whole, the bathrooms as well. It’s not overall bad property but it needs renovations. I stayed for a week and every night I could hear the guests on the other room, very loud. The walls are paper thin as you could hear everything. The sheets need a little more cleaning. The commode didn’t want to flush good, also the television only has 4 channels in total to watch.
- 1/5
We drive from Ontario to Florida often enough that we have had our fair share of late night stops in less than ideal hotels, but this was unlike anything we've seen before. We first check in and enter the lobby to find the elevator broken - no biggie, we walk up the 3 flights of stairs to our rooms. The stairwell had stains all over the walls and floors. Visible splatters of something running down the walls, garbage on the floors, black and brown stains on walls carpets and doors. It smelled like an ashtray. I stayed optimistic it was just the stairs and our floor would be better. We approached our first room and there was no door lock, but we entered. It stunk, it was sticky feeling and very dirty looking. We already questioned if we should leave but decided to check our other room. This room was like nothing I've seen before. We opened the door, the light didn't work. We are in complete darkness, we walk to the corner lamp, it doesn't turn on. The outlet in the wall is visibly blackened as if there was a fire in the outlet at some point. The cord to the lamp, cut off, it's just sitting on the table as a decorative piece at this point (stained decoration at that). There's a large brown and red scrape mark along the wall, we walk further in, the bathroom fan is FULL of black and green mold. We immediately turned and left. As we entered the parking lot a man started walking toward us, yelling things, and as he approached his car there was a man laying on the ground beside him.
- 0.5/5
Nothing Elevator was broken, pool was closed, our room was filthy
- 1/5
Older building. Ac made noise all night.
- 1/5
All awful
- 1/5
It was not a good experience. Upon arrival the room was 66 degrees. The heating system was not working, had to sleep with my jacket on. The bed was in shambles. It was not on the bed railing correctly, and very hard. Also had to show the staff that the bedding was not clean in which the staff took offense. As this was a room with a pull out couch there was no bedding left and when asked none was given. I would not stay here again.
- 1/5
This property was disgusting and we were not able to stay, I am looking for help to refund our payment. There was blood on the floor, urine stains on the bedding. Mold and mildew all over the bathroom and every vent in the room. There were white stains on the couch and the bed. Dirty handprints on the walls and the door.
- 3/5
We had a suite. TV was not working and breakfast was not as advertised
- 1/5
1) The toilet would not flush 2) One of the beds mattress was heavily damaged and bent 3) The shower tub would not drain 4) The bathroom fan was not working 5) The WIFI would not connect 6) The bath towels smelled bad 7) There was no phone to call front desk 8) Generally the room smelled and seemed all sticky everywhere 9) some lights were not working These are just to name a few issues we had. This is unacceptable and we want a full refund.
- 3/5
My stay at this hotel was OK. The room was a little dirty. The bed had a hole on the comforter in the bathroom. Pain was flaking off toilet paper holder was broken. There was a spot next to the toilet where they peeled the wallpaper and it looks moldy the TV in the living room was not working. There was a TV in the bedroom that was working and has some basic channels. The lamp in the bedroom was not plugged up, and that is the only light in the bedroom. The shower was good. Also, the king size bed was comfortable. The stuff was friendly and helpful for what I pay, I think it was worth it.
- 2/5
Location near different places Staff was rude, room wasn’t up clean tv didn’t work and pull out bed was dirty l. Went to get more sheets and the front office said they were going to bring them up but never did & had other people hair in shower
- 2/5
The hotel was old and dated. Rusty refrigerator, had to ask for a blow dryer, no coffee maker in room, dirty grout in bathroom.
- 1/5
Disgusting and dirty. Wreaked of cigarettes in a non smoking room and covered in dirt and rust marks throughout. Bed frame was also broken and thermostat stuck on 75
- 5/5
Room had a lot of space staff amazing
- 0.5/5
This hotel is very dirty Nothing , the say breakfast is and 6am and all it is is cereal with milk
- 2/5
Toilet flooded. Jacuzzi didn’t work. Coffee maker didn’t work. Staff was nice. Parking was easy. Had to keep adjusting thermostat
- 2/5
The hotel lobby smelled nasty, the hallway smelled nasty, the room smelled nasty. the fridge was damaged a cabinet door was hanging as if by 1 screw, there was no fire alarm , the exhaust vent for the air entering the room was rusty and black including the surrounding dryway. The blackout curtain was difficult to pull and once I got it down I could not get it up. Walking barefoot on the floor in the room made my feet sticky. No wifi so I was unable to o work for the two days we stayed. Id like a refund.
- 1/5
Got to the room no pillowcases on the pillows room was dirty stains all over the wall stains all over the floor TV in the living room didn’t work toilet ran the whole time. Stayed two nights only got three towels zero wash rags the man that cooked was very rude said if you don’t like his food go stay somewhere else very unprofessional. Water damage beside of the window floor about fell through as you stepped on it. It is not what is advertised on pictures.
- 1/5
First room we were given, the A/C was broken. Second room had no trash can, no coffee maker. One of the TVs didnt work. Old sheets were left on the pull out couch matress. No replacement sheets or pillows. We were there for 2 nights and not one time when we left did room service come in and clean. Ive stayed in much better rooms for $120 a night for sure. Hallways and elevators smelled like weed. Flies and misquitos all inside the hallways.
- 3/5
The tv in the living room didn’t work, both lamps in the living room didn’t work, there was only enough towels for two people when the reservation said three adults were staying in the room, no fresh bedding for the sofa bed. I told the front desk clerk about the two bath towels and no bedding and she handed me a bath towel and a flat sheet. The breakfast was subpar.
- 2/5
Staff not too helpful, tv didn’t work
- 3/5
No one came in to clean on any day and you need to spray for roaches. There is an awful smell in the building
- 5/5
Room was clean and the service was great and thank you for the opportunity to stay
- 1/5
I had to try 3 different rooms to get a room that was barely acceptable.. 1 room had a refrigerator that sounded like it was ready to blow the 2nd room t.vs didn't work and the 3rd room refrigerator didn't get cold the freezer was the only part of the refrigerator that worked.. and even then the bedroom t.v kept in linking to the hotels network. The pool is out of order but is still displayed as being available.. and the ice machines were still down.. this hotel is horrible unless you just need a place to sleep for the night. And on top of it all the breakfast consisted of waffles and cereal only.. nothing else
- 3/5
Comforter warned and ragged. Breakfast was poor. Entry door damaged/scuffed.
- 1/5
Had to change rooms three times. The first time the room had no hot water. The second room the TV didn’t work had no phone smell like mildew and also the whole third floor and smell like marijuana and had loud music. The third room had nasty looking living room furniture so this hotel really needs to update their furniture. The bed were not comfortable and I can tell that it was old. It had dips and had like lint balls all over the mattress and you can feel it through the sheets. I ask for management to contact me and they never did.
- 1/5
This hotel is a scam. Theyve posted picture for somewhere else. Hotel.com has been advised and doesn't do anything about it. The actual place is run down and full of roachess.
- 5/5
Great Service and clean

- 5/5

- 1/5
The place was so moldy we could not stay.
- 3/5
Old room, limited parking, breakfast quality
- 5/5
The stay met my immediate needs and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a comfortable stay. The desk staff was very accommodating and always provided customer care with kindness, patience and respect. The accommodations were clean and pest-free. The hospitality if the staff and the clean, sanitary environment makes Clarion a great place to stay.
- 3/5
I stayed in a 2Queen Bedroom for two nights. The location, surrounding environment, and staff service were good. Also, having the bedroom and living room separated by a door, with a mini-kitchen in between, was very nice. However, there were some points that concerned me. The first room I was shown had a door that was difficult to close; I had to slam it shut with force. The next room they showed us had a slight musty smell inside. Standing barefoot on the carpeted floor made my socks wet. The ceiling light bulb was missing, making the room dark. Also, the bathroom fan wouldn't turn on even when the switch was on. Since it's a budget hotel, maybe this is what you get.
- 2/5
Hotel was definitely showing its age. Desk staff made an inappropriate comment about several other guests when checking in. Sink was cracked and leaky. Given its proximity to the Savannah Highway, the rooms were surprisingly quiet. Breakfast offerings were minimal.
- 1/5
It had a really bad odor in the whole hotel, only 4 things for breakfast options, TVs didn’t work, floor was soaked. Was put in a room that wasn’t even cleaned and had to move rooms 3 times. People banging loudly in neighboring rooms. No light switches in the actual bedroom only a lamp. Just a overall bad experience
- 5/5
It was not too far from Downtown Charleston and was still a very quite area
- 1/5
Room #1 - There was mold coming out of the vents onto the wall and ceiling, food on the floor, mold on the pull out couch, hair in the bathroom on the tub, mold down the outside of tub, bed covers were dirty, smoke detector missing and just wires hanging from the ceiling, couldn't see out the window because of the filth and water damage. When the clerk checked us into room #2, she said, "Yeah, we're going to be renovating soon.We just took this over a couple months ago." No apology & no appearance of concern. Room #2 wasn't much better, but did have a smoke detector and a newer pull out couch with no mold. The walls were dirty, but no other visible signs of mold. Microwave was rusted, so unusable. There was also food on that floor, so I knew it hadn't been vacuumed. And after the first room I didn't really trust the second room. The mold was not as visible, but I suspected it was still there. We touched as little as possible and used Lysol cleaning wipes for what we did touch. Slept over the covers and fully dressed. Pool was gross and closed anyway. Worst. Hotel. Ever. Just sleep in your car and consider it a loss if you've already booked through a third party.
- 1/5
Couldn’t access WiFi and was unable to watch tv the whole time!
- 1/5
This hotel is absolutely nothing as it advertised. The walls are dirty, the bed we had broke soon as we sat on it. There was a dead roach on the bathroom floor. Just everything about my stay was awful.
- 2/5
The hotel is not maintained to standard. The fold out sofa bed was broken and there were insects in the room. One of us got bit by a spider. I would not stay here again. The car would be a better option.
- 4/5
Service at the front seat was impeccable! Great people! Can't wait for their upcoming renovations!
- 1/5
We drove from Ohio for our family vacation and checked in to a room that was trashed and was moved the next morning. Was told they would refund us the first night stay, but have not received anything from them. You can’t get ahold of their owner because he is a king that cannot be called. You must catch him when he is in the office (which is never). I have pictures that will back what I am saying up.
- 2/5
The room was spacious but the chairs were stained, the remote had no backing, the vent in the bedroom was filthy as if it hadn't been cleaned in a s long long long long time.
- 4/5
They have a pool but dont seem to be trying to repair or fix it and with rain , pools are critical for those with kids , also had to ask for extra towels every night no matter how many were used and put out night before , but for its pricing it was an great place
- 5/5
Loved it
- 2/5
Needs refurbishment
- 3/5
It was ok for the price but the sheets were dirty and stained and the hallway outside of the room smelt gross
- 5/5
The hotel was really nice and West Ashley
- 5/5
I think most of the reviews previously were just racist people? Cause there were lots of people and some long term guests but everyone was friendly and no one bothered me, it was quiet, and I felt safe. The lady who works the front desk is very nice! We chatted for a while and she gave me some local recommendations. The room was also really nice. Sure the carpets could use some updating but it was clean, bathroom was bigger than I expected and the bedroom was big, set up like an apartment so I can’t complain!
- 1/5
Problems with our stay was: Over use of several different fragrances to hide smells. Shower head was broken and far to low to be comfortable. Shower rod was broken and hanging down about 4" or eye level for me, being 6'1". Room was to include a fold out couch, however, we got a room with two disgustingly nasty chairs that was dirty and had burn marks on them, despite being a 100% smoke free building.A thin white window shade has a burn mark and stains and did little to block the bright lights from the boat yard, next door. The bed is very squeaky, dirty and likely original to the building. This short list could go much longer but, you get the message. Also, The breakfast is horrible and the cheapest they can provide. No meats and no fruits provided!
- 2/5
Requesting a full refund, we checked in May 24th around 1:30pm. Booked 2 rooms, first Room (416) AC wasn’t working and it was extremely hot, stuffy and old smell. The bathroom bathtub would fill up while taking a shower. They basically sold us the room knowing the AC wasn’t working. Front desk agent came into room trying to fix knowing it was nothing he could have done. The hotel was sold out, so he couldn’t move us it was already after midnight and the room was unbearable. He brought us 2 fans, one fan was full of dust the second fan was a desk fan. The outlets were strip so the plug kept coming out so the fan didn’t work. Agent stopped me as I was going outside stating they had a cancellation he could move us in 15 mins and they would bring us the new key. We waited 30 mins no one showed up so I go back to the front desk and now it’s a new agent. She was nice she had our key ready for us. We moved out of the room after packing all of our things it’s now 1am. They moved us to 217, yes the AC is working. As we are walking back to the bedroom it’s big dip in the floor we could have twisted our ankles. The toilet had an extremely slow flush. The bed was about to fall apart. Our 2nd Room 322 with small Children the TV didn’t work in the bedroom they had to sleep in the living room. This hotel is in bad shape and not worth $250 per night. The elevator is accident waiting to happen. Extremely slow and outdated.
- 2/5
Given the price-point of $200+ per night, I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. If this had hovered more in the low-$100 range it probably would have been okay-ish. As it stands, the room was incredibly warm despite the thermostat being turned down. The shower had zero cold water whatsoever. I mean, the shower had 2 temperatures, scalding hot and face of the sun. That's it. The toilet was wobbly, I noticed sombody had repaired this by shoving a piece of folded paper under it. The bathroom was in the process of a remodel I assume, since the wiring for the lights was exposed with open wall showing. Again, at a budget price, these are all things you can shrug off. As it is, there is nothing of note close enough to justify that price in that condition. On the plus side, everyone there was incredibly friendly.
- 2/5
Breakfast: eggs were rubbery, biscuits were dry, gravy made my wife sick, the apple juice was just apple-scented sugar water. The only decent part was the coffee oddly enough.
- 3/5
The room was spacious. The property needs a little TLC; however, the staff was very accommodating, friendly, and professional. There’s nothing they can do about that. Is it somewhere I’d book for the whole family, no; but for travelers, you can’t beat the rate and it’s in a safe area.
- 4/5
The rooms were nice and big. Very clean. Nice location
- 3/5
Elevator broke down while staying. Noisy neighbors didn’t help.
- 3/5
Property is tired…old furniture, stained carpets, staff was friendly
- 1/5
This is the grossest hotel I have ever ever stayed in. Bloodstained furniture. Stains on the sheets. Pubic and other hair in the bathroom as well as stains in the toilet appn check-in. Worst experience ever.
- 3/5
limited breakfast, management doesn't know how to run a hotel
- 5/5
There rooms are good
- 4/5
Overall…great week. Thank You
- 2/5
My room was non-smoking yet reeked of cigarette smoke. The furniture in the room’s sitting area was visibly stained, the bathroom grout was moldy, the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed and the walls in many places had been spackled over yet unpainted. Very poor presentation.
- 4/5
Room is good
- 2/5
Dirty floors, unable to get new towels. Told it would take 2 hours. No iron in room. 2 hours to get that. Stood at the front desk multiple times for 5+ minutes without any attention. Room in front of me had bed beds. Card key disconnects after 24 hours and I had to go up front to keep getting it reactivated. Food left in microwave. Pool out of order.
- 1/5
Didn't even stay, there was a roach on the bed. Lots of weed smoke, mariachi music playing out of one of the rooms(I personally enjoyed that). Also their front desk representative was rude. Just really in a bad area, there are better places to stay.
- 2/5
The breakfast buffet was good but would have liked some bread for toast and bagels.
- 1/5
DO NOT STAY HERE.
- 1/5
Horrible property
- 3/5
Was given four different rooms at check in because they gave me keys for occupied rooms.
- 5/5
The THE staff was very helpful and I appreciate the help that they help us
- 5/5
Tout était parfait, à part une odeur de pot .Je l’ai indiqué au personnel, puisque c’est un hotel non-fumeur . Ils ont mis du sent bon dans l’ascenseur et dans les corridors.
- 5/5
It was and nice and relaxing stay home away from home
- 5/5
It was nice and relaxing stay
- 1/5
Hotel appears to be surviving on either Section 8, or FEMA guests. Arrival to a lot of old cars, outsjde the front door less than clean, elevator smelled of cheap cigar. Though the sujte was clean, the cushions on furniture did not match. Beds were clean bathroom also. Some guests were "off", making it an unco.forta le experience
- 1/5
The couch and chair in the room had cigarette burns in them and was so nasty we would not allow our grandkids to sit on them. The microwave had food inside of it that couldn't be removed because the button for the door was broke ,the ice machine was broke and the drain plug in the tub was broke so I couldn't take a bath. The ice bucket in the room was nasty and needed to be washed.the pool was closed and nasty looking even though they advertised for indoor pool. The hotel smells like a dirty wet ashtray so you can tell people smoke in it.the inside of the hotel looks NOTHING like the pics they have on their website. This places looks a trap hotel and the manager was rude and didn't care when these issues were brought to their attention and we were told the hotel down the road have a nice pool if we wanted to go stay there. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
- 4/5
Clean and friendly staff. Nice room and quiet
- 2/5
There was blood on the carpet and on the microwave. It was a last minute booking with no other choice so I took it. Regretted write away. Book at your own risk.
- 2/5
Unlike most Clarion hotels I have stayed at this one is more of a local persons / transients temporary home. The lobby, the rooms, and the outside are spartan. There was dried blood on the mattress but I did not find bugs. The hairdryer had fallen out of the wall. My key stopped working the second morning and they gave me a replacement without ID. I did not feel safe outside.
- 3/5
Was ok
- 5/5
The living room area was separated from the bedroom. Bathroom also separated from bedroom area. Nice. I wish it did have a mini stove for simple cooking purposes. Although you possibly could bring a hot plate. Just ask them first.
- 1/5
Room was dirty, including stains on the bedding. King bed broken and tv remote not working. Worst part was finding roaches in the bathroom. Front desk staff was rude and complacent. Do not stay here!

The smell was so bad we couldn’t even fully enter the room. Front desk employee was absolutely silent during check in. Most rooms had their doors held open by soda bottles. The elevator was broken.
