The staff was very good, and the history of this beautiful place was everywhere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back.

This place was amazing. The staff were great. Loved the specialized attention that was provided. It felt like you were coming home to family every night. Loved the wine and appetizers, free full breakfast every morning, nothing was lacking. Liked it was a way from the noise of all the tourist. We will be back. Don’t waste your money on any other place.

Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. We had the grouper and the steak and both were wonderful. The room was beautiful. Love the turn down service. Enjoyed the wine and hors d’oeuvres at 5 o’clock.

This was a wonderful stay. We enjoyed every minute.

We absolutely loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The mansion is beautiful with so much history and our room was very comfortable and surprisingly quiet. The bath was wonderful especially with a fireplace right there. We ate at the restaurant which was incredible- had the two tasting menus which was so fun and highly recommended. Parking is a breeze. But would have to say the best part was the lovely gentleman that checked us in as he’s a gem! Would highly recommend staying at the Wentworth Mansion and we will definitely be back hopefully for a longer stay!!!

The Wentworth Mansion was an absolutely amazing hotel. The staff is so friendly and cannot do enough to make you feel special. The hotel thinks of everything that travelers always appreciate. Free bottles of water by the back door, chocolates on the pillows at night, turn down service, free breakfast, free cocktails and appetizers. They also have Brigerton music playing throughout the mansion. It was a very special trip and I can’t wait to go back.

Everything about this beautiful hotel was welcoming. The staff, the little treats waiting for us, the lovely rooms. We can't wait to come back and spend more time here. The location is great. Quiet and walkable. Breakfast was delicious as well.

We were lucky to book and stay only 2 nights. I became aware there is a 3-night minimum when I looked for future weekends because we enjoyed it so much we cannot wait to go back.

If you like historic facilities, this is the place for you. Service was top notch. Took us a couple of hours to get the room warm. Drafty, slow to heat. Bathroom was up 5 steep stairs, and our bath ceiling was about 6’ high. Beautiful small “library” common rooms to enjoy a book and a glass of wine. Circa 1886 was excellent. Breakfast was the best part! This is in a walking neighborhood, but there are no shops or other restaurants.
- 5/5
Beautiful old mansion stay. Our room was large and offered a sitting area with fireplace. We were able to get a nice sit down breakfast with several options. The price seems steep to me and I wouldn't stay again as it was several blocks from King St. and I feel there are better options at the same price or less on King St. Nice once but wouldn't do again.

This was an amazing place just so wonderful

The building was amazing. The staff was professional but so friendly a d helpful. Breakfasts at Circa were perfect
- 5/5
The staff were all very helpful, especially at the concierge desk. The man and Russian woman Anastasia at breakfast took excellent care of us. Bell service did a great job, too!

by far the best service we have ever received from a hotel in our lives. Beautiful grounds and lots of history. I definitely would recommend to anybody to experience this stay at least once in their lives.

New, clean, comfortable. Clearly showed attention to every detail of virus pandemic precautions. Well-trained, courteous, attentive staff. Outstanding meals.
- 5/5
Old world charm and hospitable atmosphere Great location walking distance to town
- 5/5
The most charming hotel with the best service. Croissants and coffee laid out every morning. Small bites and complimentary wine available during happy hour. If you have a chance to have dinner or bunch (tomato pie!!!!) at Circa 1886, it’s incredible. Will be back!
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Well maintained. Service excellent. Delicious breakfast. A must if you are in Charleston
- 5/5
This property exceeded my expectations! I will be back soon!
- 5/5
Truly as good as the reviews I read. Lovely, well maintained elegant property. They upgraded us to a larger room when we checked in and it was a huge suite - we felt quite royal. Bathroom is also huge and wonderful. Staff couldn't be nicer. And, the best part is the lovely people you'll meet at the social hour each evening. That's such a nice addition to any trip.
- 5/5
Amazing place, lovely large bedrooms (ours was top floor), each uniquely furnished. Very peaceful. Great quality breakfast - loved the shrimp n grits. Would highly recommend.
- 5/5
What an amazing place to stay. From the lovely garden suite with a sitting room, spacious bathroom with a shower for two and jetted tub, to the garden walk out, a widows walk up on the fourth floor to see the amazing views, to the wonderful breakfast at Circa 1886. Would highly recommend a stay.
- 5/5
The room was very spacious and well appointed. The staff was extremely friendly and did their best to make our stay enjoyable and memorable.
- 5/5
Shrimp & Grits at breakfast was stellar, attention to detail everywhere in this fine establishment, we will be back.
- 5/5
The property was beautifully restored. The gorgeous old woodwork and detail of the building was in outstanding condition. The bathrooms were updated using high end fixtures.

This place is amazing
- 5/5
Quiet and secluded. Was close enough to walk to fine dining and shopping. Excellent historical attractions.
- 5/5
This hotel pays close attention to detail and left us wanting for nothing. We felt like royalty staying here.
- 5/5
From the moment you walk in the door, your every need is taken care of. The staff could not have been friendlier. They genuinely care about your stay and making it as enjoyable as possible. The room was great. We had two separate fireplaces (one in the main room and another next to the tub in the bathroom) and a private patio to enjoy. The added features at Wentworth are what set it apart. First, the breakfast is top notch. This is not your typical free breakfast. This is a delicious menu cooked fresh for you at Circa 1886. The happy hour featured different wines and hors d'oeuvres each evening. There is a pour of port wine, brandy, or scotch at your disposal 24/7. Touches like bottles of water waiting for you in the lobby, umbrellas available in the room and the lobby of you forgot your own, and snacks and drinks left in your room daily set this apart from anywhere else. This was our first stay at Wentworth Mansion, but it will not be our last.
- 5/5
Large rooms in a beautiful building. Nice breakfast and dinner at Circa. Good location, walkable to King Street.
- 5/5

- 5/5
This hotel is great. You feel like you are in the mood to spend time in historical hotel this is great. Room was clean, staff was very kind and attentive. Breakfast is included and the mini bar is stocked with soft drinks and water and is free. It’s a small perk but super convenient. Don’t miss the amazing rooftop views and the spa!

- 5/5

- 5/5
An amazing experience, the service was excellent.
- 5/5
The mansion is great. Super friendly and comfortable. And located close to the heart of Charleston. Only downside is the lack of a pool (perhaps there is one and I missed it). Great food; good breakfast is included
- 5/5
Lovely luxurious indulgence. Beyond expectations. Taken back in time.
- 5/5
Fantastic hotel, friendly staff, great rooms, good breakfast and fun activities nearby. We look forward to our next visit
- 5/5
A few blocks from all the action but totally worth the walk! The staff could not be nicer and the room we stayed in was enormous and gorgeous! Wonderful breakfast at their fabulous restaurant is included every morning. A real treat!
- 5/5
Our stay at the Wentworth was amazing. It truly felt as if we were a guest in a friend's home. The amenities are wonderful. The staff was exceptional. I would definitely stay at this historical hotel again!
- 5/5
I have read that this is one of the top romantic hotels in the country. I must agree because the decor, staff, amenities and rooms were the best by far that I have seen. The Wentworth mansion outclasses all other 10+ million dollar homes in the area by a wide margin.
- 5/5
If you value understated elegance this is the place for tiut
- 5/5
My husband and I made a spur of the moment decision to run away to Charleston for the weekend. We found the Wentworth Mansion online and made the booking. It is BEAUTIFUL, the staff is AWESOME, and our room was so... just... lovely. We had a beautiful, fun weekend and will definitely be back.
- 5/5
Room was as comfortable amply spaced and as advertised. Staff was friendly and personable. AAA 4 diamond restaurant on site for breakfast mmm! (included) and dinner also mmm! (on your own). We met some charming folks at wine & hors d'oeuvres hosted by staff each day at 5:00pm. The hotel was located in historic district not too far from shopping. We walked everywhere we went during our stay. (bring some comfortable shoes) Overall a very enjoyable experience and we will return at a future date
- 5/5
This old, former home of a Charleston grandee is a rare--if not exactly unique--hotel. The house is grand, fine, lovely, opulent. The woodwork, the ironwork, the floors, thee bedrooms are all splendid. The ambience is refined, courtly, perhaps, old-fashioned. Now if you want a sleek room with a gym downstairs and a pool, this is not your place. But if you want to live like an old-time aristocrat for a night or two, this is the place for you.
- 5/5
Off street parking in a beautifully landscaped courtyard. The restaurant in the former stables is lovely and has excellent food. The mansion is beautifully appointed and well maintained. The staff are all top notch. This property is a real gem in an historic city full of beautiful homes and non-stop charm.
- 5/5
Wentworth Mansion was absolutely lovely. The staff was inviting and they all seem to love working there. We had a wonderful dinner at Circa and breakfast there was really good. Went to their Spa had a great massage. Walking distance to everything.
- 5/5
Great experience, wonderful historic building, staff was helpful and especially the restaurant was fabulous
- 5/5
Just great , only place I'll stay from here on . Staff is top notch, eager to take care of you and make your stay remarkable.
- 5/5
Last minute decision to dash thru Charleston after a week on Hilton Head. Only room available was high end...best decision to splurge ever. Gorgeous old South charm. I felt like Scarlett O'Hara. Fabulous gigantic marble bath area with jacuzzi tub and large separate shower. Highest ceilings & lavish woodwork. Forget Scarlet...this could have been the Palace at Versaille
- 5/5
We had a wonderful fourth floor room with Windows in three directions and a fireplace! Fantastic room!
- 5/5
This place was amazing. We were pampered for our entire visit, my favorite place to stay ever!!
- 5/5
We went to Charleston for the 4th of July and wanted to stay at the Wentworth Mansion after having been to a reception there for a class reunion a few years ago. We were greeted as special guests when we arrived and were treated as such the four days of our visit. Parking is free (a real benefit with visiting Charleston)and the full breakfast was a real treat(included in the price). Afternoon refreshments were delicious as well and we were introduced to some tasty wines with which we were not familiar. Had we chosen, we could have watched the fireworks from the cupola... fireworks from several directions. It is a short walk to downtown; it was a hot day but only took about 10 minutes on the shady side of the streets. We did not eat dinner at Circa 1886 but guests who did said that the food and staff were excellent. The manager and staff, including breakfast staff at Circa 1886, were some of the most welcoming and accommodating staff we have experienced in our travels.
- 5/5
. I will return every time I'm in Charleston. Elegant and friendly.
- 5/5
The hotel that I was initially booked at for my business trip in Charleston overbooked and the Wentworth Mansion took me in with open arms when there were only 2 rooms left in all of downtown. Words cannot properly explain nor do they provide justification of the hospitality and gracious measures that the staff at the Wentworth Mansion took in order to make me feel welcome and safe. The rooms are absolutely stunning plus I got a chance to enjoy the complimentary gym membership during my trip and breakfast at Circa 1886 Restaurant. I cannot say enough great things about those two amenities plus the others that I will be sure to enjoy during the rest of my stay. I will definitely be telling my family, friends and colleagues about my spectacular stay at the Wentworth Mansion and I can guarantee I will definitely be back. Thank you to everyone at the Wentworth Mansion for showing me what true southern hospitality really is.

Wonderful getaway! Completely pampered and relaxed!

Charming, old and tastefully appointed small hotel. Outstanding food at associated restaurant.
- 5/5
Staff helpful; room 6 great. Highly recommend and would stay again. Price bit high for US hotel but you get what you pay for.

Our favorite place to stay in Charleston

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary in this magnificent mansion. A bit weathered by time, it has a very focused staff, from the reception to the extras, like: wine and d'oeuvres at 5pm, after dinner drinks and a superbly elegant breakfast, all complimentary. It is a wonderful experience with an elegant sense of history.
- 5/5
This was one of the best places we've ever stayed at. One of the things that really impressed me was that 2 weeks prior to our stay they called to make sure we made dining reservations and one week before we arrived they called to help with tour reservations. Great breakfast at their restaurant, which was included.
- 5/5
Relaxing, historical and some of the most friendly people on the planet. I would highly recommend the Wentworth Mansion as a must if you are visiting Charleston.
- 5/5
It was very nice staying in such a beautiful mansion in our recent visit to Charleston! Not a lot of opportunities to stay in a historic mansion.
- 5/5
Absolutely a great place to stay - breakfast was superb - our room and hospitality was top notch!!!

Went worth was fantastic and the staff were ready to please.Everything was included and we were surprised by there thoughtfulness

We celebrated 39 years wedding anniversary at the Wentworth Mansion. I can honestly say it was the most romantic quick trip ever! We live in Myrtle Beach and we arrived in Charleston for lunch and carriage ride. Checked in early and enjoyed relaxing there until the dinner at Circa 1886 which is in their carriage house. It was special that we did not have to leave and find parking downtown at another restaurant. But what was truly outstanding and romantic was the robes, chocolate , and even the note of the next day's forecast was placed on the bed when we returned from dinner.Candles were already lit with champagne in the ice bucket. They had a romantic music cd playing. I had a Jacuzzi bath with their luxury bath salts. The next morning the breakfast was outstanding not your typical continental....in the fine restaurant there on the grounds. Of course they had tea, lemonade, wine and nice appetizers in the afternoon, cordials in the library after dinner and had pastries in the morning early before the big breakfast. A romantic spot in a romantic city!
- 5/5
Feels more like a private home than a hotel. Staff was fantastic - very helpful and friendly. Wonderful place to stay while visiting Charleston.
- 4/5
Accommodations and service were great, a good romantic getaway. First time in charleston, so not much time in the hotel and spent a lot of time walking as location is farther away from most attractions, though walking was not bad. Hotel though is great.
- 5/5
This hotel experience was amazing! We have stayed in some very nice hotels, but this now ranks at the top of our list! Thank you for making things so very special!!
- 5/5
The Wentworth Mansion exceeded our expectations in all ways. From the afternoon reception to the amazing breakfast to the restocked fridge in the room, my husband and I were continually amazed at the service. I can honestly say I have never stayed anywhere that felt more warm or welcoming. We had a wonderful time celebrating our ninth wedding anniversary and we know exactly where we will celebrate our tenth - The Wentworth Mansion.
- 2.5/5
The staff was very friendly, and the mgr. responded right away when we told her the tub had hairs in it (not ours). Little extras like candy at turndown, champagne for our anniversary, and notes regarding the next days weather forecast were nice touches. Though the building itself is impressive, the Inn is in need of paint, polish and redecorating. The bed linens were not ironed, towels were old and one had a blood stain and another had hair on it, after finding hair in the tub.
