Staff, location, dining all excellent! Room was very clean. However, the electric outlets were loose and the nozzle for the cold water in the bathroom was rusted and would not turn.
- 5/5
Everything was superb, except the breakfast was ver very weak.
- 5/5
We had such a wonderful time and I wish we could have stayed longer!! Staff, food, atmosphere was amazing!
- 5/5
A charming hotel. Loved the wine and cheese and restaurant.
- 5/5
It was all fabulous! Perfect location, food was divine, and service was impeccable!
- 2/5
The hotel room has strong musty smell. There is no airport shuttle as indicated, one has to call in advance to arrange one which was not made clear. Breakfast officallly ends at 10:30, but they stop provide replenishment after 10am. Two stars are for the cleaning team who did a good job cleaning the room. You can get better hotels with the same price around Charleston.
- 5/5
Excellent stay.
- 5/5
The breakfast was very good with a nice selection. If I am being picky, only 2 things I would change: 1. a very small closet (fine for 3 days) and a very high bar - I could not reach it but I used the robe hooks to hang my things. 2. the lighting in the bathroom by the mirror should be stronger. Both things are not that important to me so I still give this hotel a perfect score of 5 stars! I highly recommend it and would stay there again if traveling to Charleston. Luisa is the best!
- 5/5
Charming ambience and friendly staff
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and courteous, the room was beautiful and the complimentary breakfast was delicious. We can’t wait to return!
- 5/5
What a wonderful spot in the heart of Downtown Charleston! Fantastic customer service!
- 1/5
The female bar tender was very nice. The reception team was very nice and accommodating. The room didn’t have much hot water, maybe 5 minutes worth. The room was very creaky and dated. No real privacy and could hear the TV in neighboring room. The traffic from meeting shook our room and no sleep was had. We canceled our second night and stayed elsewhere. Would never go back or recommend to anyone.
- 5/5
It was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a hotel. And I’m well traveled. It was incredible and the staff was extraordinary
- 5/5
It was amazing. Fabulous hotel.
- 1/5
Yes, the room felt dated and was too small for traveling with a baby. The food was fairly average, and service was very slow. I wouldn’t consider this property to offer a true VIP access experience.
- 5/5
A delightful stay in a delightful setting.
- 5/5
Rooms were well appointed, staff was friendly, nice amenities like the chilled water and cookie bedside each night! Incredible dining experience on site, walkable to much of the shopping and other must see sites of Charleston. A special little place to stay!
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and a very good location allows you to go anywhere in Charleston
- 5/5
Such a great boutique hotel with Charleston history and charm. Easy walk to King Street for shopping and lots of great restaurants and bars. Loved the happy hour and included breakfast — visited with other guests at both. Todd took care of our bags and parking our car and Louisa at reception gave us lots of restaurant and bar recommendations. Want to stay longer and come back!
- 5/5
Great hospitality and amazing ambiance Nothing. It was perfect!
- 5/5
Our stay at Zero George was perfect. Loved the location, and the service was impeccable. Two nights felt like four. We hope to stay again next year.
- 5/5
Lovely small hotel in pretty garden setting, with luxe, very comfortable rooms. Convenient location, easy parking, and very accommodating staff.
- 5/5
Charming at every turn and great service!!!!
- 5/5
The Zero George is a lovely property with superb staff and excellent amenities in the prettiest part of Charleston.
- 5/5
What a gem - boutique, historic but very current as well.
- 5/5
This place was amazing. We spend a lot of time at Disney properties and I thought they had the best customer service but Zero George tipped Disney.
- 4/5
Great location. The service was above and beyond. With such great reviews of the restaurant, I was expecting the breakfast to be better, but the coffee was good. The wine and cheese was a nice added touch, as well as the sound machine in the room.
- 4/5
For the cost and listing as a AmEx prefered property we expected a better breakfast or options.
- 5/5
We love it. We are returning guests!
- 5/5
Excellent service and a very special experience. Very welcoming and the zero George has a lot of character. We loved staying here and hope to return.
- 5/5
The staff here were so kind and helpful! I was so impressed with the customer service and the time they took to show us around the property. Great place to stay!

Also, when I originally called to inquire about rates he said it was “impossible” to find a lower rate. I then went on Expedia and got same room for substantially cheaper.
- 5/5
We actually cannot say enough great things about the service of this hotel. The staff went above and beyond with their service level. From smooth check-in to restaurant and transportation recommendations to fixing one of the bicycles so we could ride all afternoon. Everyone we encountered was lovely, even outside vendors working on the property were delightful. Hand written notes left for us and Marc consistently checked on us throughout our stay. the room was extremely well appointed, a little vintage charm done in a clean modern way. The bed and pillows were really comfortable(I am a stickler about this.) The turn down service with the cookies and cold water is a wonderful touch. The property is serene and relaxing with its multiple seating areas whether you want to be social or stick to yourselves. it is a little off the beaten path so it's nice not to be surrounded with tourists. We are definitely recommending this to everyone we know. We had dinner at the restaurant 1 night, it was a little disappointing. Ray & Joey held the high service standard, the starters were phenomenal but then the rest of the meal was disappointing. The pastry chef should be commended tho for the desserts, out of this world. Thank you for the attention to detail, it was noticed.
- 5/5
It was the best stay experience we had: from the intimate and well maintained hotel room to the service and friendliness of the staff. The manager Marc has been exceptional in both being knowledgeable of everything Charleston that we want to try and bring thoughtful of recommendations based on your preference and the length of the stay. The breakfast and daily wine and cheese tasting were wonderful.
- 5/5
Staff, Facility, and location were perfect in all respects. True Historical property turned into a quaint high-end boutique hotel.
- 5/5
Charming and upscale - my favorite Charleston Hotel . You feel like you are staying in a guest house - very personal attention and detail.
- 5/5
amazing stay, what a gem
- 5/5
Beautiful rooms
- 5/5
I loved our rooms and the wine and cheese hour I liked everything
- 5/5
The very best hotel experience in Charleston . Period,
- 5/5
Lovely property. Staff are very accommodating and attentive. Service is excellent
- 5/5
Amazing on all fronts! The accommodations were delightful, the staff extraordinary and the ambience - simply perfect!
- 5/5
Awesome stay definitely the best in Charleston
- 5/5
Fantastic experience, nice rooms, beautiful courtyard, linens were first class, the staff was amazing. Pure southern hospitality
- 5/5
Wonderful staff. I found our room on E. Bay Street a bit noisy so the staff moved us to an interior room. Very accommodating.
- 5/5
one of the best places i’ve ever stayed!
- 5/5
Lovely comfortable rooms with thoughtful details, like a sound machine and free wine and cheese, as well as a great breakfast.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 5/5
The property is beautiful and the staff is friendly and very helpful. Will stay here again.
- 5/5
Charming layout of the hotel property!
- 5/5
The downside of our stay was that the room is on a main road and was very noisy at night. I wish they would’ve told us that so we could expect it in advance. Also, the breakfast is not great for the standard of all other aspects of the hotel. Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel. Will be back.
- 5/5
Everyone was incredibly nice and very accommodating. Beautiful property. We will be back
- 4/5
Once original mix-up over reservation addressed, lovely stay
- 5/5
Had a wonderful time. Would highly recommend
- 5/5
Great Hotel, great people but difficult to get to
- 5/5
This is a slice of heaven in the bustling city of Charleston. From the peaceful courtyard with elegant fountains to the luxury amenities, this is truly one of the kind hotel! Guests are treated to a friendly wine and cheese happy hour, and scrumptious breakfast each morning, southern hospitality at it's finest. The biscuits are to die for! Concierge was so helpful and cheery. We can't wait to go back!
- 5/5
The staff was lovely to interact with and the property is spectacular.
- 5/5
Charming property, customer-focused staff, exquisite dinner, delicious breakfast.
- 5/5
Lovely
- 5/5
The staff were very helpful and friendly; lovely trip
- 5/5
Lovely old colonial building. Beautifully designed rooms with everything you need. Loved the bedtime treats of cookies. Very friendly, helpful staff. Really enjoyed the complimentary cheese and wine. Only negative is the busy road that borders the side of the hotel and might impact a couple of bedrooms. Nice breakfast but would have liked better bread options eg sourdough. Also very strange tea options so bring your own teabags if from UK and like a proper cup ( this goes for everywhere in the States, to be fair!!).
- 5/5
Delightful!!
- 5/5
We had a lovely time at the zeroGeorge street. The servers, and the entire staff was courteous and helpful. The room was well appointed and comfortable. We were sad that we did not get a chance to enjoy dinner at the restaurant (they were closed on Monday) but the happy hour and breakfast were both first class. The amenities throughout our stay were worthy of a Charleston experience. We will return for a longer stay soon. Thanks Zero you made our trip memorable.
- 5/5
Wonderful hotel. The staff is amazing.
- 3/5
the heat was inadequate, the hot water was inadequate and the noise from East Bay Street was annoying
- 5/5
Unique hotel, with superb service. The restaurant is very expensive but is amazing if you are adventurous enough to try the fixed menu. Staff were incredibly diligent in modifying my dishes for no nuts or seeds. A wonderful experience!
- 5/5
Very comfortable, quiet nice stay. Everyone there was great.
- 5/5
Absolute dream in every way possible! Gorgeous buildings, beautiful and spacious room, incredible staff, lovely attention to every detail. I’ve stayed at several high-end hotels in Charleston and Zero George is hands down the best! It is one of my favorite hotels I’ve ever experienced, including my extensive international travels and stays at 5-Star properties.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and staff were fabulous. Really enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend.
- 3/5
Location was great, the buildings were beautiful, staff was lovely. No terrace as described on Booking. Terrace was the reason for which I booked the hotel, but the rooms did not have any, just a common terrace outside, so, fake advertising. There were no blinds so the light came all in to the room at night. No room service. No possibility to have a drink until 5 pm. The windows do not open so the room lacks the fresh air and it's suffocating. Breakfast is quite poor.
- 5/5
Zero George is a unique experience in Charleston. It is a quiet guest house feel that is well maintained, clean, safe and elegant. The price fix dinner menu is out of this world.
- 5/5
One of the best, if not the best, hotels I have stayed in. I was traveling for business and every tiny detail was thought of. Breakfast was extensive, the staff incredibly helpful, just an all-around great experience. My room faced a busy street and road noise was minimal. I recommend Zero George without hesitation.
- 5/5
Beautiful property and the service was excellent.
- 5/5
My husband and I spent 2 nights 3 days to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. The hotel is Beautiful, small and intimate, just what we wanted. Miranda at the reception area was helpful in going through everything with us. My two concerns was that I booked a Veranda King, and was given a Residence room with a King size bed, a kitchenette, desk and sitting area. It was nice and private so we did appreciated it. I'm just glad it worked out ok, because I don't really like surprises. The other concern was the parking. We parked across the hotel and when we told Miranda if parking across was ok, she said we can only leave the car till 9pm. We will either have to pay for a meter parking, or $29/day for valet parking. I don't remember reading anything about no parking available, unless you park at a meter or pay for valet parking. I could be wrong. We opted for valet parking. The breakfast was good. Quinn was helpful in assisting us with breakfast. The bar area was great, Casie was an amazing bartender/service captain. She is friendly and pays attention to details. At dinner time my husband and I sat at a table and, when Casie saw us she asked us if we wanted to go upstairs and dine. We said yes and we felt so much cozied. A dinner at the Restaurant is a must!! Everything was delicious and worth every penny!! You get to meet new people from different areas and conversations strikes like "What brings ya'll here"?? Amazing experience to cherish, Thank you!!
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay at Zero George and the quality and cleanliness of our room. The staff was great and the breakfast and evening wine house both lovely.
- 5/5
Everything about Zero George was fantastic. Every detail from directions and parking information to beautiful room was perfect. Particular thanks to Hannah, who made our stay even more special!
- 5/5
My husband and I came to the hotel and we had a warm welcome !l the staff is lovely. They offered us a complementary glass of wine, water. The room was amazing! And we were able to do early check in at not cost. We enjoyed our stay.
- 5/5
Total perfection!
- 4/5
We felt like the main characters in a slice of life romantic comedy. All of the hotel staff was excellent. Location is excellent, everything meaningful is a less than 10 minute walk; or a 4-5 minute drive. Breakfast was excellent, well put together a tactful selection of pastries, coffees, and everything else you'd expect. This one is sort of expected with an older building however, the AC alone wouldn't regulate the temperature inside our room. It took a while for it to set to our room at our preferred temperature (70° F). We had to keep the ceiling fan on if we wanted to stay cool; which is fine although I wish I could have simply relied on the AC. I wish there were convenient parking spaces nearby; Although, the hotel staff's valet service was ALL-STAR, excellent.
- 5/5
A truly southern charm hotel. Our suite was comfortable, clean and nice for relaxing. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant was out of this word. Highly recommend and will be back.
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 5/5
Great property with great staff
- 5/5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Zero George! The complimentary breakfast was amazing! The location of the hotel is very scenic and extremely walkable. The room we stayed was huge and had a large bathroom which was nice. The room also comes with robes and slippers which was a nice surprise. We stayed on the first floor and had its own front private porch which was nice. They really go above an beyond to make sure your stay is nice and leave you with a nice parting surprise. I would give it 10/10 but on the way to breakfast an employee wasn’t friendly- I politely asked him where breakfast was and he told me but then proceeded to ask if I stayed at the hotel after glancing me up and down a few times. It was an awkward moment because I had the hotel room key visibly in my hand. We would still go back though!
- 5/5
Staff was amazing
- 5/5
absolutely beautiful property. Serenity meets luxury and a fantastic staff! My new favorite Charleston hotel.
- 3/5
Overall, it was just a bit disappointing and don’t think it lived up to its prior standard.
- 5/5
Zero George is a beautiful property that looks exactly like the online pictures so no bad surprises! It’s quiet so the perfect place to go to relax, but close enough to easily get to great restaurants in a few minutes. The walk to the market area is about10 minutes so very doable. If you have issues walking, then call a Lyft. Our queen room was perfect as expected and I loved the beautiful, cozy sitting area outside our room.
- 5/5
By far one of the most beautiful properties that we have had the pleasure to visit. Impeccable service!
- 5/5
gorgeous hotel with garden and incredible restaurant. Excellent staff.
- 5/5
Amazing!
- 4.5/5
Very cozy and beautiful place--feels like your are back in time in old charleston...but with modern everything
- 2.5/5
Lackluster stay.
- 5/5
Very stylish, delicious breakfast, charcuterie board and wine all included in the price. No parking on site.
- 5/5
Truly exceptional
- 4/5
charming shower was wonky
- 5/5
One thing to note is that because these are old buildings, you could hear the guests in the room above us as the floors creak. Not something that would turn us away in the future, but something to keep in mind if you like absolute quiet!
- 5/5
By far one of the most delightful places I’ve visited in the States! Carry on with your impeccable service and do offer opportunities for your superb treats to be experienced by more people, so they too feel as “The Crème La Crème” as I did! Thank you team Zero George Street for two fabulous nights that I’ll cherish for a long time to be! M~
- 5/5
Staff was fantastic and very helpful. Room and grounds beautiful.
- 5/5
Hands down best accommodations!
- 5/5
Charming property in great location. Rooms were very comfortable. Bar is well stocked and cozy. Breakfast was included and wonderful.
- 5/5
A beautiful property both inside and out. The staff were terrific, friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the 5:00 wine and cheese tasting hour and gardens.
- 5/5
The staff was amazing, they let us drop bags and explore the city until our room was ready. Everyone on the property is helpful and personable. I am already planning my next trip!
- 5/5
Everything about the place, room and staff was wonderful!
- 4.5/5
Superb
- 5/5
Great stay- excellent staff, service, amenities, location and food! We will be back- room was beautiful and comfy and charming.
- 3/5
We requested via email and text ahead of arrival for one hour early check in. No response. Upon arrival was told we would receive a phone call once our room was ready. Waited until 5:40pm no one phoned to let us know our room was ready. Reception area was an office and was cluttered and had sn odor. Not at all what was expected for a room that cost $780+ per night.
- 5/5
Only complaint is that the name of our suite was king veranda and there was no veranda except a shared one on the second floor. Location was convenient to East Bay, King street, the Market, and the Battery. Overall a nice stay for a boutique hotel.
- 5/5
Beautiful property with elegant southern charm
- 5/5
Exceptional
- 4/5
Very good
- 5/5
My husband and I enjoyed everything about our stay at ZeroGeorge! The personal touches throughout the week made our day. The room was super clean and I can’t say enough about the staff. A special thanks to Laura who helped us when we arrived! We will be back for sure!
- 4.5/5
The property is charming and immaculately kept. A small pool would have been amazing in the heat but as it’s a small property I understand why this is not possible.
- 5/5
Everything was wonderful, pleasant very helpful staff, atmosphere and breakfast was top tier. Planning on going again. 10/10 recommendation Na
- 5/5
Service level Is second to none, this is consistent with every worker at the property!!! No regrets with our stay felt so welcomed and pampered
- 5/5
The hospitality exhibited by the staff was better than any I have experienced, and I have traveled extensively. The little things that they do say and mean a great deal.
- 5/5
A perfect hotel to relax and enjoy the historical district. The staff are amazing, attentive, and helpful. Can't wait to return.
- 5/5
It was a very romantic hotel full of Charleston charm. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to stay in Charleston.
- 5/5
It was just perfect!! Property, staff and guests!!
- 5/5
Our stay was wonderful from start to finish. Complimentary nightly wine and cheese and beautiful breakfast were so helpful and gave us more time to explore. The rooms was quaint and comfortable, and included chilled wine, a lovely candle, robes and slippers. The staff cheerfully met all of our needs. What a beautiful setting close enough to walk to shops, historical sights and restaurants, and bikes were also provided which made getting around even more enjoyable. We absolutely loved our stay here.
- 5/5
Excellent!!
- 5/5
Small, elegant, personal service, amicable staff
- 5/5
Very nice hotel in quiet residential area, but within walking distance to pretty much the entire city. I highly recommend.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and proactive before, during and after our visit. Property was undergoing some renovations but did not interfere with our ability to enjoy the property.
- 5/5
Excellent welcome, good room, central, perfect service.
- 5/5
Wow! The stay started off with Zach pouring us a glass of champagne and giving us a tour of the property. The room was clean and well equipped with plenty of water. The wine and cheese fun and elegant and I will be dreaming of the homemade granola for breakfast. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Look forward to staying here the next time I visit Charleston.
- 5/5
Historic hotel in a beautiful setting. Attentive staff, delicious daily free breakfast and excellent wine and cheese in the afternoon. Complementary pretty bicycles to tour the city. Great restaurant with excellent food and service on site.
- 5/5
Gorgeous. Staff was very kind. Restaurant was amazing.
- 5/5
The room was excellent, comfortable, and quiet with a private veranda. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location and historical property.
- 1/5
This place was cramped 200sq ft, dirty and the office was in the kitchen. There was no assistance at check in. I would never stay there again!!!
