My husband and I never even got the chance to check in. The front desk employee was extremely rude when asked about the questionable cash only deposit that he demanded that we give. When I explained that I booked online through Expedia and that I can put a deposit on my credit card, he took out a list of guest names stating that it was a list of all of the people who gave the cash deposit and would get it back. He then further stated that if we didn’t like it, we could go elsewhere. That is exactly what we did. We would not recommend this location to anyone due to the rude employee engagement, questionable cash only ”policy”, and the cleanliness of the location upon arrival.

Check-in staff was very nice. Room was as expected for the rate. This was our 2nd night at this motel. My kids and I were getting ready to checkout and this man I had never seen came to our door TWICE before checkout time. The first time, he knocked. The second time, he used his key. He was also VERY angry with me for smoking- In a room designated for smoking. (Or so I was told at check-in both nights). Turns out, he was working in the office that morning. Very rude. We came back that night and he demanded a $100 deposit as opposed to the $25 I had paid the first two nights. 0/10 would not recommend if he is working.

Nothing the rooms were nasty and the beds uncomfortable their was literal shit or something wipes on the walls beside the toilet their was blood on the walls looked like someone squirted from a syringe. Also had people knocking on our doors in the middle of the night they had the wrong room. Oh and roaches. Had we not been completely exhausted we would have left and drove the ride back home. We had to take showers soon as we got home and clean out our bag to make sure we didn't bring any bugs home. This motel wasn't worth $20 a night. I want my money back PLEASE. I actually didn't stay in the room because upon arrival, the night clerk couldn't find my reservation. Honestly, he really appeared out of it/altered, but he made no attempt to look up the reservation I made through hotels.com and offered no suggestions. It's probably a blessing in disguise though because the hotel was not in a great neighborhood, and the condition of the front office (not very clean, the office chairs (behind the bank teller style window) were torn and old, the desk was a mess, and there were typos and misspellings on the signage taped to the window) led me to believe the room would have not been clean or comfortable, nor would it have been necessarily safe. The cab driver who took me there was so hesitant about the area he personally escorted me inside. I'm absolutely shocked this even has two stars and I think hotels.com should remove them from their listings...at the very least a representative from hotels.com should visit the site.

Hotel did not allow me to use the Hotel.com reservation, so at 2 AM I had to pay again to use the room. Hotel pool filled with dirt and weeds. TV in the room has no cable feed ... just snow on the screen. Wake up call was late. I can go on forever. Hotel reminds me of a flop house in a third world country. Less than a minus five rating.

Shampoo and soap in ketchup packets. Towels so rough you could shave with them. I woke up in the middle of the night swearing I felt something crawl up my ear canal. No Wifi access code that worked. Pillows so thin you can see through them. Check-in through a bullet proof window. All airlines had cancelled flights, this is what i was able to reserve. Maybe a good place for an off the grid affair or some cloak and dagger activities.

The tub was stopped up, until they felt it was an inconvenience to them if they hadn't fix it, -Literally. The water began to leak, and then they wanted to fix it.... I paid for the room one day 15 mins before check out. The lady in the front office insisted on calling my room one hour before, repeatedly to tell us we'll have to leave. So disrespectful, she was. To top it off, No Internet, as Promised. My husband and I we do most of our work digitally. After all, this is the digital age, and we couldn't do any work. When aksed what the issues was, we were told it was off. We stayed roughly 18 days, with no internet. We lost more money than we made. Thank you Budget Inn.... Joshua E. Loveson

The motel looked janky from the outside, and the desk service lady was almost rude. The room was musty and the shower leaked water on the floor, but the king bed was immaculately clean and quite comfortable. If you don't have to have a classy room, this motel is tolerable for a budget.

I had booked a room with a king size bed because I was visiting my cousin who just doesn't have the room for me. As it turns out, we wound up needing to stay together in the hotel, so I asked for 2 double beds, one for me and one for her. The Hotel charged us extra per night for this minor convenience. The choice between 2 smaller beds and a king size bed is a pretty standard same price choice, but not here. The hotel wasn't even at 70% occupancy, and the switch was accomplished with a few button pushes, hardly mandating a surcharge. Further, the bedding was just awful. The pillows were lumpier than oatmeal, obviously many years old, and the mattress bounced like a ball. You could even feel the metal through what was left of the padding. For the same money, I could have had a considerably better hotel.

  • C.J. Aug 2014 · via hotels.com

This is not a hotel to stay in for multiple nights. One night will be about all you can handle. Because I got in late and left early, it was just right for the price. The hotel is definitely in need of major repairs, so if building cosmetics is important to you, then don't stay here. The description said premium bedding, however my covers had cigarette burns in them. The description states there is an iron and ironing board in the rooms, but there wasn't. When I went to the front desk to ask for one, they did not have one. The carpet seemed like it needed shampooing. The tube TV was not clear at all. I will say the man at the from desk was extremely nice and professional.

The room was very comfortable and mostly clean. Unfortunately, the bed did not have a fitted sheet and a flat sheet was used for this purpose. The toilet paper holder in the bathroom almost fell out of the wall. The tub drain had small broken pieces of soap that filled the tub drain. Other than that I did enjoy the stay. It was quiet and comfortable and mostly clean for an older hotel.

We arrived at the hotel to find the pool closed, and I mean no repairs looked like the had some trash in the area, which would have been a main factor for us. We get checked in and go to room the fire alarm is doing it's alert beep for dead battery, when I called front and told them all they said was "Yeah". I had to ask them if they were going to do something about it. Then I look around and realize they gave us a non-smoking room when I reserved smoking. When I went down to desk, the man was very short with me and once I showed him the confirmation I had from the site asked if I wanted to switch rooms. This is the worst place I have ever stayed and would not recommend to anyone.

It definitely was NOT worth even the "savings". It is run down and smelled of marijuana. On top of that, when I arrived, the clerk tried to tell me the king size smoking room I paid for wasn't available and tried to offer me a double queen room. The amenities listed on the hotel website are not factual. There is no breakfast served because the latest sanitation rating is a B (84.5). There is a coffee maker in the room but no coffee is provided. The rooms are not clean. The website claims to have a bar on site and restaurants within walking distance; however this is not true. Although I had already paid for my rooms via hotels.com, the hotel also charged me for the rooms. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, not even for a quick overnight stay.

I booked this hotel because it was inexpensive, very close to Charlotte, and they allowed me to pay when I got there instead of immediately over the internet. I was expecting the worst after I read several dreadful reviews from this place. But when I got in the room I was relieved to see it was fairly clean, didn't smell bad, and had a microwave and a mini fridge. The Budget Inn is clearly a place you only want to sleep in a couple nights at the most, but if you're on a budget like I was this is a decent place to stay.

There was mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom. The bathroom door looked like it was kicked in. The top lock of the door was missing.
