Issues I encountered included: Multiple visible stains on the mattress and box spring. Yellow/brown stains on bedding and pillows. Hair left on the bedding. Food (peanuts) left on the floor near the bed. Dirty, stained walls and light switches. Chipped and damaged furniture. No toilet paper provided in the room upon arrival. The air conditioning remote was difficult to operate and came with no instructions, making it frustrating to adjust the room temperature. The room felt neglected and poorly maintained. Cleanliness is one of the most basic expectations when booking a hotel, and unfortunately this property did not meet that standard. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel and would not stay here again.
- 2/5
If we were to spend more time at the hotel and less outside, this hotel would be fine as long as you don’t care about refrigerator or microwave toiletry items. It felt very dirty. If you wanted something, like a toilet paper that was missing from the room or extra pillows, prepare to walk downstairs to get it yourself from the front desk. They have no one coming to give it to you.

However, the maintenance really stands out as a weak point. It’s not that the place is neglected, but it’s clear professionals haven't done the maintenance. They honestly need to bring in a pro team to handle upkeep and maintain the facility's value. There was also a cigarette smell in some of the hallways from time to time, which wasn't ideal. Comfort was okay for the price, but a little more professional attention improve the facility.

Is in a good location but the beds and bathrooms are stinky and full of wierd stains definitely pay a little more and go anywhere else

Price, location, Free street parking ( if you find a spot. Just don't move your vehicle) new 36 inch Roku TV with Amazon remote , great hotel WIFI connection, very hot water Water was shut off for several hours due to a plumbing problem that was being fixed. I had to request things , fix things myself. Because hotel service was a (2 out of 5) 1. No toilet paper, 2 blown light bulbs, 3. No face cloth, 4. Delta faucet handle was loose, toilet was the small round one. 4. Bath room floor felt sticky like someone spilled pop.5. HVAC unit on wall was questionable as working properly,

Do not stay here no matter how enticing the price might be. This establishment needs to be shut down, demolished and rebuilt if they want to continue. The worst experience I’ve had in a hotel in terms of its condition. Rooms stank of piss, bathrooms were dirty, sheets were stained, pillows were flat, dead bugs everywhere, walls had random spots of paints along with the door which definitely indicates attempted break ins. Everything was cheap, broken or both. As a dude I can stay anywhere and not really care but if I’m going to pay to be there this establishment is not even worth a penny. DO NOT STAY HERE NO MATTER WHAT THEY TELL YOU OR WHAT PRICE YOU SEE! It’s way worse in person. Options but budget travelers maybe few and far between but this place is not the answer.

We couldn’t even stay here. We walked in the room which was the size of a closet, cockroaches the size of mice came running from the bed. The floors had trash on them, the bathroom didn’t have toilet paper, the toilet wasn’t clean, sink had hair in it. Assuming probs bed bugs by the looks of the sheets. Run as fast as you can anywhere else. They double charged me, no elevator, tiny stairs Everything. Disgusting. I’ve been to other 1-3 star hotels and at the very least it felt clean. They tried. This place did not try at all. It was so disgusting. Straight from a movie. Or how I met your mother the Arcadian and the cockamouse. NASTY

Refused my registered service dog and I at the door and then refused to refund me. Stated they are adhering to their cancellation policy which I super did NOT cancel. I was told tough luck I should have read the policies more carefully. My dog is in fact registered with the ADA and yes I sure did present my card for proof. Super not worth the price. Same price you get a much better bang for your buck at Dorothy’s bed and breakfast. I would never ever try to stay here again

Room wasn’t ready until 3 hours after my available check in. It is just a run down small hotel with no updates. Sheets, pillow cases, and floor was filthy. I took 1 trip to the room and knew there was no way I was staying. To the managers credit, he did ok a refund.

My first time at this hotel, nice staff nice room my only issue is there is no elevator and having to walk up several flights of stairs was no fun especially being disabled. No elevator

No elevator
- 3/5
No elevator should be in bold. I had a bike with me and the narrow stairs were tough. Room's carpet looked like my friends rugby house floor after 3 years of not vacuuming and partying. Front desk saw me with a bike and still gave me a top floor room. Lady wandering the hotel knocking on all the doors looking for a relative she hadn't seen in years. It was OK for the money. Next time I'll spend a little more and stay where they clean things. Maybe even a fridge in the room.

Mini fridge was in description and there was no mini fridge.

Location is great. It smelled like dirty mop water.
- 1/5
This was hands down the worst hotel I've ever seen. Mattress was covered in piss stains, there was puke on the computer desk, the blinds were broken, dresser was missing drawers, the bad frame was straight up made of 2x4's, and the dude at the front desk was on a personal call the entire time he was checking me in. They also offer you a free can of Coke if you give them a 10/10 review. So desperate. I'm trying to get a refund right now because we refused to stay there under such conditions. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

The room and bathroom are too cold during winter months. Windows are drafty. Beds are not very thick or comfortable. No microwave or fridge in room.
- 3/5
It was very cold in the room. The air conditioning definitely works! The water in the shower was very warm and nice. The bed could use a thicker comforter or at least an extra blanket. Overall, I don’t know what I expected given the price.

The room was not ready at check in. Also, infested with mice. Very bad customer service and room condition.

- 4/5
The hotel is safe and FOR THE PRICE it was mostly clean, except under the bed. Fixtures and the hallways show wear and water pressure was a little weak, but shower was hot. If the room rate was typical for Chicago, it would have been disappointing. So that needs to be considered.

The room was clean as we entered and the shower all hot and clean. So the staff was great and helpful, although I did miss the the clue of ownership being in the small lobby at any time. But I understand that whats management is for. The time was spent minimal in room. I would go back and see family in the region.

It's not a palace, but it's safe, clean and quiet. It's in Chinatown, a block and a half from the L stop. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
- 5/5
Nothing fancy, but I'll be back. Very safe and cozy.
- 4/5
Great location. Cheap room. We knew the room would be small. We wanted a clean place to sleep near Chinatown. This place is a block from the subway (L) station. It’s right off one of the main shopping streets in old Chinatown. It’s in an old building which was less clean than I would have liked but not dirty. Linens were clean. It was pretty quiet. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Chicago.
- 1/5
Felt dirty,no parking
- 2/5
My room clearly had not been cleaned before i got there. Trash and tooth brush left behind, towels on floor. Probably should have complained. Wifi worked well at least.
- 1/5
For that price, should at least have one bottle of water. The bathroom have only one roll of of toilet paper. The other that is gone, they didn’t even take it out. The bathroom condition doesn’t look good.
- 1/5
The room was not clean. It was nasty. The bathroom has mold in the showers. The ac unit barely worked and when it did it let out a loud ear piercing noise. There was a pill in the floor when I got there. (That's how I know they didn't clean also) There was garbage that was left in the hall way for 2 days.. On my last night I finally found what I was getting bit by, luckily I didn't see bed bugs but it was fleas. I got one and showed the night time clerk and he just shrugged his shoulders and kept asking me if I was scared of it. Like no sir I'm not scared I just don't want to be bit by it. I went for a concert and arrived late that night. They offered to change rooms but I didn't want to risk moving my stuff to a room potentially worse than what I was in. I had a couple hours my left before check out so I toughed it out and told the morning front desk. He did offer a little compensation. He was nicer and more understanding than the night time clerk. But if you thought like me and wanted to stay more budget to spend more while in Chicago do yourself a favor and spend a little more for another one.
- 2/5
Where do I begin.. The positives - the two younger front desk staff; they were fantastic in accomodating needs where they could. And no bed bugs found in any of the beds we checked! The rest pretty much goes downhill. We checked in, having booked a room with 2 queen beds and were immediately asked to switch to use two seperate rooms. We declined as we were two females travelling together. The first room we were given (101) was terrible (dirty, extremely stained sheets, garbage on the carpet, dirty and run down bathroom, stains on walls everywhere). I went down and asked for new sheets, ended up complaining the room was disgusting overall and the lady offered to let us switch rooms. We went to the next room and it was... better. Still dirty and the beds were just cheap futons but the sheets were clean. The bathroom was dirty with borderline traumatizing showers, stains on walls everywhere but we didnt have a choice and had to stay here. The second night we asked for a two extra blankets (the ones on the bed are SUPER thin) and a pillow - they were only able to accomodate ONE extra blanket and no pillow lol. I was given some extra sheets bundled up instead. The walls of the hotel are super thin, you can hear everything and to store food there is a communal fridge. The morning we left, there were people sleeping in the public lounge in a sheet bedroom. I would never stay here again but we made it work as it was the cheapest for the location and proximity to downtown Chicago.

not a fan of the shared bathroom for rooms, toilet paper was used, and overall cleanliness was very poor. the bed was comfortable enough to sleep on.

Room wasn’t ready when we arrived for check in, and when my partner went to the front desk to grab a remote the Indian receptionist guy made a super uncomfortable and inappropriate remark to her. There was roaches on the stairs for multiple days and overall just a filthy establishment.
- 4/5
No frills hotel room with a reasonable price for Chicago and a great location to walk downtown. Also has parking very near for Chinatown at 18.99 for 24 hrs.

Bedbugs. My friend woke up with many bites. I’d actually like to request a refund. This is inexcusable. I have photos if you need them.

- 4/5
I go there often I like the location and the quiet room. The staff is polite.
- 3/5
Front desk was not always friendly or quick to respond when we walked up for help. WiFi worked some of the time. Our room was very outdated and slightly dirty with very outdated furniture and one very thin blanket. The location was great being in Chinatown and it felt safe overall. Definitely a cheaper option than other hotels located near downtown Chicago but nothing special. The front desk did allow us to check in 40 min early which was nice!
- 3/5
Room was small tv had self remote and was super small and staff could have been busy
- 3/5
You get what you pay for, if you just want a place to shower and sleep at night this is it. This is obviously not a 5star hotel but it’s in the center of China town which makes it a prime location. Bring your own soap/body wash/ shampoo our room did not have any. Besides that it was okay. 3/5
- 1/5
Woke up to roaches in my bathroom and on the floor by the front door, very unclean conditions
- 2/5
You would expect the sockets by the bed close, this was not the case, I had to get up from the bed to plug my charger and switch the room light on or off.
- 3/5
It was a little small but clean.
- 3/5
- 3/5
It’s fine service and quality with the price in Chicago. Staff tried to clean the stairs and public area as they can but sometimes other customers dropped their food on the stairs. Others’ doors and the fire department nearby were little noisy at night but might not be a regular issue (unsure if it’s because I travel over the weekend). One of the pillows was not clean but the pillow case was ok. Positive things about it would be the food options around are pretty nice, many shops, close to the train, and a walkable distance to a nice park.
- 3/5
no frills property. scattered food on the stairway and took 3 days before it was cleaned. get what you pay for.
- 3/5
The hotel is dated, despite signs everywhere that stated the fine for smoking and local bylaws, the hotel and our room stank of cigarettes. The room was basic but the bathroom was spacious and clean. The receptionist lent us a plug so that we could charge our phones, as we'd hoped they might have USB charging points, we were advised that this was an old hotel and didn't have such things. For a base to explore other parts of Chicago, this is a great value hotel but you get what you pay for and whilst the bedding was clean, the bathroom clean (with some free toiletries) it did feel grubbier, with the strong smell of stale cigarette smoke. However, the hotel met our needs for the 1 night that we stayed
- 4/5
When we checked in, we were told that we are on the 3rd foor. Problem was, no elevator. I nor my sister could keep going up and down the stairs. The good thing was that the front desk person went out of his way to put us in a 1st floor room after the 1st night.
- 3/5
The room was ok. The bed was clean and comfortable. The only problem was no sound on the TV.
- 2/5
Save yourself the trouble and just pay the extra money for a better hotel, this place is so incredibly shabby and run down. Looks like it was last cleaned in 1947.
- 4/5
Great location near CTA Red Line station. Fun neighborhood. Could use some sprucing up, lots of peeling paint. Great deal for being so close to downtown and McCormick Place. No amenities, but there are properties going for 3-4 times the daily rate if that's important for your stay.
- 3/5
It’s one of those hotels where you can’t be mad at the quality because of the price. It’s in a good location for a good price, so I can’t complain too much. Cleanliness would probably be my biggest complaint as every aspect of the hotel room was dirty or old. The sheets were extremely dirty and old, and the door was busted up in quite a few different ways.
- 1/5
Reader, be prepared to reevaluate all of your life choices if you decide to book a room here. First, it's a four-floor walk-up, with uneven, narrow stairways. Our room had a rickety bed with a small blanket that didn't remotely cover my 6-foot husband. There was a chair, table and tiny TV crowded up against it. Stains all over the walls and the drape that covered our one, cracked window overlooking a depressing alley. We checked for bedbugs and surprisingly found none. In the bathroom, there was a tiny round toilet, a shower that only spat out water unwillingly, and a single used bandaid on the floor. Enjoy using your hand towel as a washcloth, because that's as close as you get. Want coffee? There's some Folgers' crystals and a hot-water option on the fountain in the "kitchen" area, which at times even has water available. There are abundant signs warning you not to steal food out of the single refrigerator. And still more signs telling you that you are being surveilled. Don't worry about the housekeeping staff damaging any of your belongings -- our room wasn't touched during our three-night stay. China town itself is amazing. You will be tempted to ignore your gut and stay at this hotel, which passed "shabby" about 20 years ago. Reconsider. We cheaped out, and we paid the price.
- 3/5
Ok okay, not so great
- 1/5
No elevator and our room was on the third floor. Our view from our window was a dirty alleyway with garbage all over. We only went there to sleep since we were at a concert, but the bed was so horrible we never slept ! What a nightmare!

It's a decent place to stay for the night
- 1/5
Sooooooo grosss ac blew out dirt bed bugs smelly and outdated rooms. Didn’t even stay left early
- 1/5
Dirty property, no fresh coffee, no working heat, no wash cloths.. Spend a few more bucks and get a decent hotel, this one sucks big tome
- 2/5
Some rooms needs remodeling.
- 2/5
For the price all I expect is a semi-clean room and a hot shower. The hot water went out, and would not be back on until the Monday after we left "at the earliest." The front desk staff could only offer us "$20 per night we were effected" which didn't include the day we checked out. No one notified us the hot water was out and would remain out. We waited several hours for the hot water to come back on before we complained and asked what was going on. The manager was not on the premises. There was no offer of passes to a local gym or to be moved to another hotel. Lack of access to hot water is unhygienic and unsafe. We had to cut our trip short and drive home just to feel clean. If I didn't want a shower, I would have gone camping.
- 5/5
I liked this hotel because it has what I need
- 1/5
Place was a dumpster fire. Condition was soo horrible. Exposed wires. Holes in wall. Trim coming off. The dust catcher on a/c was disgusting. Smoke alarms on floor not working. 1/2 a roll of toilet paper was all we had.
- 5/5
This as a cute little place glad we stayed
- 3/5
Workers were very nice
- 3/5
Room was at an affordable rate. Downtown Chinatown area was very close by so you could walk from the hotel to shop end eat at a variety of establishments. With there being no elevator, getting a 3rd floor room was a bit tiresome going back and forth especially with how tight the stairway was. Walls were very thin so I pretty much heard my neighbors on the opposite end of the hall of the same floor and nearly all the commotion outside. There was only 1 worker at the front desk at all times and they weren't too helpful when it came to knowing parking accommodations. I'd recommend this property if you're in town for the weekend and didn't bring your own vehicle as parking is either at a nearby parking garage, a communal parking lot, or utilizing a 3rd party app to park your car overnight. All the rooms share a kitchen and fridge so that can be a big turnoff for people who intend to bring in leftovers or preparing food while staying.
- 5/5
Easy access to downtown and Chinatown. The hotel was lovely and if you grew up in these kind of communities you’ll be a ok. However don’t go in expecting a standard hotel experience! There were certainly stains on the wall and perhaps mold in the showers. But the bed was soft and the location great and the front desk staff lovely.
- 5/5
This is a place totally in flux. For what I paid. Amazing location. It was a fine room. But super budget. My room was cleanish but the sheets were tattered, the bathroom was rough, but this is definitely a property where they are making an effort. Excited to see the future for them.
- 1/5
well... there was no elevator to get to the upper levels, and the stairwells were so narrow that if someone was going the opposite direction as you one of you had to back up to another level to allow one of you to get through at a time. The room was not clean. there was probably an inch of dirt on the baseboards and there were remnants of food under the bed from a previous guest. The mattress pad was stained by lord knows what. I wish I could make this stuff up and I should have taken photos but it was room 208. When I ran the water in the bathroom the ceiling leaked onto the floor. The tv did not work the first night, (they did fix that) there was also no parking available at this hotel you had to park in a lot a ways away or get lucky and find a street parking spot.
- 5/5
The staff was so nice and helpful for our whole stay , the room was spotless and comfy. And what a wonderful area of culture to stay in. Absolutely recommended to everybody.
- 5/5
It was exactly what I paid for. Friendly staff.
- 5/5
Parking is very easy & free but must look sign. Highly recommend it & I will come back again .
- 1/5
Room very dirty
- 1/5
Therapeutic hairs all over the shower in the bathroom the towels weren’t clean the sheets weren’t clean that quilt wasn’t clean
- 5/5
Good night
- 5/5
They have been so helpful & kind. Honestly a great staple for the community & a blessing that it is hre
- 5/5
Everyone is very sweet
- 3/5
In the morning I saw that one of the MANY papers they had on the front desk mentioned the wifi, but again, no mention of it by the front desk staff the night before. I had to look up the heating system online to figure out how to turn it on and use the remote for it. A cheat sheet would have been nice for people less savvy. The room itself was fine. There were burn marks on the curtain and the desk looked rough, but generally speaking it was a room to fall asleep in. If you’re looking to stay a night, you’re probably fine. However, if you have even a weekend stay planned, you can do better.
- 2/5
At first they didn’t even give us the correct room which should have had two beds and it only had one. The first room didn’t even have power in the main room and there were two open beer cans on the table. It didn’t even seem clean. When we got the correct room it hadn’t even been clean there were Dirty wrappers from whoever was there last and there wasn’t even toilet paper in the bathrooom. It was gross and we were worried the sheets weren’t even clean. Don’t go here it’s gross
- 1/5
They didn’t clean the room or bathroom at all. There was a lot of hair and dirt in the bathroom, and there were many items left behind by previous guests in the bedroom.
- 3/5
Ok but gotta be in by 11pm or it's an additional charge, and can't move freely in and out of the building. other than that it's what you pay for.
- 5/5
For the money it was worth. Simple and it has a bed shower and toilet. And it's at the heart of Chinatown that's all we were asking for parking if you park on the street it's free otherwise it public parking
- 5/5
It's okay.
- 1/5
I had been in this hotel 10 years ago, it was a okay hotel, not fancy but clean. Now, it seems having changing to another management company and it is very dirty, for example, completely broken window shade for the bathroom, dirty and unchanged linens for new customer (found hairs in bed from previous customer who sleep the same bed). Very noisy at midnight due to very poor insulation of the walls. I will not come back to this hotel and not recommend any one until they make a fundamental change.
- 5/5
The staff was both kind and professional. The hotel is in a great, walkable location, surrounded by a plethora of diverse and delicious restaurants. It is close to the Red Line for quick, easy access to the rest of Chicago; the Loop is only one stop away. Combined with the price, I haven't found a better value in downtown Chicago.
- 5/5
Shower was dirty. Carpet in room needed to be vacuumed.
- 4/5
Staff were very friendly
- 2/5
Está sucio y muy chiquitos los cuartos demasiado pequeños 👎
- 4/5
Te a and coffee in the lunge which is welcome. Microwave to warm your meal room service need to improve . Convenient location to mc cormic place
- 4/5
The hotel is a block and a half from the Cermak-Chinatown CTA L stop, which provides great access to just about everything Chicago has to offer. Despite what you might have heard, traveling on the CTA is quick, cheap and safe to most places. As with any city, there are places to avoid, ask a native or a cop if you have any doubts. You're not going to be spending a lot of time at the hotel when you're awake, so the lack of amenities (no coffeemaker, no mini fridge, no microwave, etc.) can be overlooked, unless you're fussy. In that case, there's a Springhill Suites 3 blocks south on Wentworth. There are many good places to eat, and not just Chinese food. There are also a lot of interesting little shops, some with kitschy goods and others with better merchandise, which makes it fun to stroll down the street and take a look. You never know what treasure you might find.
- 5/5
A service from the front desk. Very easy access to central chicago and located right in the heart of chinatown. Not the prettiest hotel in town but great value.
- 2/5
Proximity to Chinese food and easy ride to downtown for Chicago marathon
- 5/5
Close to centre
- 4/5
The room was very basic, but clean. The area has excellent restaurants and it was close to my destination.
- 5/5
Location is awesome along with the quite reasonable rates. Everything is within reach. Enjoy dim sum at a local restaurant!
- 4/5
If you’re looking for a cheap place to sleep this beats any motel 6. It’s not the nicest place but for a 15 minute train ride to downtown Chicago, it beat all other accommodations I could find by over $100, I will definitely stay here every single time I’m in Chicago which is quite a few per year
- 1/5
The smell in our room was SO bad, it hit you in the face every time upon entering, and you're nose can’t ever really get used to it. There’s no elevator so not accessible for people with disabilities. Regarding the safety of the area, there was a shooting right across the street one of the nights, so there’s that. The area was also noisy with drunken people yelling up and down the street until 3am. It was really hard to rest after long days of exploring the city. Our health kept deteriorating after every night with the smell and noises. Location was great and in the perfect spot for us, we took the water taxi straight into downtown so that was really convenient. Considering all the cons vs. 1 pro, I wouldn’t say it was worth it, despite the lower price, as the cons cost us our ability to enjoy the trip without feeling exhausted.
- 2/5
Tv didn’t work, bathroom had dirt stains on floor and carpet had stains as well
- 2/5
No glass to get water no wash cloth no parking took hrs to find a parking spot
- 3/5
No shampoo, no bath soap, no toilet paper until I asked!
- 3/5
No parking, no microwave in the rooms. The building is outdated needs renovation. But good location for tourism not sleeping.
- 3/5
I love the location, walkable to many restaurants and public transportation, the rooms need a lot of repairs, the service was good
- 3/5
Nice staff. Room was a bit warm on arrival
- 3/5
It was Okay. Check-in is at 3 p.m., not even one minute before that, so take that into consideration if you are planning to arrive 30 minutes early or something like that. You need to ask for room services if needed. The location is very good. The Red Line is very close to the hotel, and Chinatown has a nice ambiance.
- 2/5
The hotel is great for the price. The first room we had was terrible as there was trash everywhere and the toilet was clogged. However, we went down to the front desk and explained to them what we had walked into and they immediately apologized and gave us a new room. The new room was comfortable and cozy. It worked for what we needed. So if you are looking for a cheap option this is great! Super convenient location as well!
- 1/5
Property needs an entire upgrade. The entire hotel is in ruins. It’s definitely not in any condition to be running a business or charging people period to stay there. The entire establishment was like an abandoned building, with mildew, dirty, and grimy.
- 3/5
You get what you pay for...a cheap room to sleep. Sheets and towels were clean but windows (in our 2nd floor room) didn't appear to lock with a walkway outside.
- 5/5
There are very limited parking spaces in front of the hotel
- 5/5
We were wanting to check out the Whitesox Stadium. Plus, we were coming up for The Stones concert at Soldiers Field the next day. Already had a Hotel for that trip. We were looking for a cheaper place for our first night. Accomplished that times 3. The Chinatown hotel has no parking. We parked at a public lot, just a few minutes away. It was fine, and probably cheaper than most Hotel parking charges. We were able to check in early. We even got on the first floor. There are 3 floors, and no elevator. Our room was without any amenities, or wash cloths. The place was very clean. Workers were very friendly. AC worked well. Many restaurants really close.
- 1/5
I stay one night restroom also not flushing
- 5/5
As others have mentioned, the place isn’t the most clean or well kept. I found some light trash under the bed, but I’m not sure that’s fair to count against them. I noticed the blanket had some holes and the desks looked to have cogarette burns. If you’re looking for something fancy, this isn’t it. But if you just want a place to spend the night, I’d highly recommend this place (especially cost-wise).
- 4/5
Small, super close to Chinatown and the redline
- 5/5
Beautiful
- 3/5
This place is a bed, nothing more, pack air freshener and pack light because this place has no elevator, the head post are barely on the carpet is ok, the walls have cracks, bathroom is tiny, and they try to pad their star rating by offering you a can of soda if you blindly give them a 10 star review I stayed there and the bedpost fell off the wall which looks like it was stuck up there with plaster and a prayer, they do not answer room service especially when I asked for toliet paper, the neighborhood is scenic though plenty of restaurants and shopping but for Japanese stuff ( in Chinatown) all bootleg and cheap
- 3/5

Good service and good price.
- 2/5
the bed had no bedbugs and was somewhat comfortable, but the area looks very ghetto and unsafe and i constantly heard screaming and running around the hallways. walls are also very thin and the window view was a dirty alleyway. also located near red line which is convenient but somewhat unsafe. and its in chinatown so it’s convenient to get breakfast in the morning. the bathroom condition was horrible and the toiletpaper holders were broken and run down. There was only one outlet in the entire room. and no elevator despite there being 3 floors
- 2/5
Whole place need a cleaning. Exactly what I expected but dirtier.
- 5/5
Clean comfortable
- 2/5
Great price and clean, but i didn't get the double room i reserved. I had to get a second room on the spot, was lucky to get one. Not the best outcome but made it work....
- 1/5
Couldn’t find our reservation, no room refrigerator, the toilet paper was wet, boogers and blood on the walls, shower didn’t work, hair in the shower, mold in the shower. The place was disgusting!
- 4/5
If you are looking for a nice hotel, this isn’t it. If you are looking for a bed and a bathroom and you don’t mind not have a door knob on the bathroom or the door closing all the way, this is the place for you. For $90 a night in Chicago you are getting what you pay for.
- 3/5
room was nice but no refrigerator, microwave or iron for your clothes.
- 2/5
Door knob to my first room was broken. Heater in my second room wasn't working. Plumbing in shower was laggy so it made a pool. A stranger's hair was found under the sheets and in the restroom. Those are all objective observations. My opinion is that they are on their last leg and is trying to milk the old cow until it all breaks down and close. DO NOT RESERVE MORE THAN 2 NIGHTS IN ADVANCE. You will regret it as the cancelation policy is very strict and they will keep most of it. I only stayed here because of nostalgia but after coming back to Chicago's chinatow, I see they have 2 hotels that are closeby with 1 being a big brand hotel name.
- 3/5
We had issues with the hotel reciving our reservation but the lady handled it well. Our room was not prepared due to this and the staff was quick ot provide everything we needed. Room had the essentials we desired. Bed, awesome AC, tv with working roko for streaming. Everything we expected for our cost.
- 3/5
there is no elevator for this hotel. this must be informed to guest before they book the room.
- 4/5
Budget hotel with flexible access to the attractions.
- 3/5
The room was ok, it's small, it had remote ac, a small t.v bed, and desk with a small sitting bench.I had to request that the linen be changed b/c the pillowcase had stain on it, so did the pillows. I think they line dry certain things. However, after I spoke to the woman at the reception desk, she had all the linens changed and it was fine. The bathroom was clean, with small towels and soap, shampoo, no shower pressure, but water was hot. They will hold your bags after check out. There's a frig, microwave, soda machine downstairs. It's a 10 minute walk to McCormick Convention Center. It's good if you'll just be sleeping there. The bed isn't soft, but will do if you're on a low budget.
- 2/5
The environment around hotel is not good as a big city. And I also found the bed is not very clean but
- 3/5
location is in centre near market and restaurants.front desk person no smile. rooms are very small and no fragrance. in toilet water leakage. in case of emergency spending one night is ok.
- 2/5
I pay $130/night for one queen site bed room which is very small room. Overall condition of room is worse than one motel room which usually cost $80/night.
- 1/5
Cons: the rudest staff I have ever encountered - don’t say hi, please, or thank you; rooms were dirty - hair was in the shower when we arrived; rooms smelled; AC was loud; TV didn’t work and the front desk person didn’t know how to fix it
- 1/5
Rude, unhelpful, terrible staff. Dirty rooms and bathrooms. Had ants all over our carpets and the housekeeper didn’t change anything before we checked in. Toilets are dirty. Our blanket and cover had holes in them. TV doesn’t work and WiFi is terrible. No elevator so pack light cause they won’t help you carry it up the stairs either. Lounge doesn’t have plates or spoons or anything. The only good thing is that it has AC and it’s close to downtown Chicago. But that’s about it. Would not recommend this place.
- 2/5
This is an old building. The rooms are severely aged. Was clean enough. Hardly any water pressure for the tiny shower.
- 2/5
very old not maintained at all and no security
- 3/5
The bathroom was very clean and looks to have been remodeled. The bed had clean sheets, pillow but the rest of the room smelled like a wet dog and was pretty funky. All of the furniture, carpet, etc. was heavily stained and worn out. All of the surfaces besides the bathroom looked like they hadn't been cleaned in 10-15 years and had spills, stains, etc. that could have easily been cleaned but seemed to be left to become a permanent part of the room. I have stayed in budget rooms around the world but this was one of the funkier ones.
- 4/5
Location was perfect. Price too. Food around is excellent. Just what I was looking for.
- 5/5
Loved how close the property was to the subway station. Nothing fancy very small but very affordable and close to Chinatown shopping
- 3/5
However their housekeeping practices we're terrible. Stayed 6 days, never once was bedding changed! One time wet towels we're picked up and rehung! Unfortunately can not recommend this location.
- 2/5
I stayed one night as I had planned. The price and proximity to the convention center and both the red and green lines made it very convenient. It was difficult to close my room door and open the door to the shower. Fortunately, the air conditioning worked great, the bed was comfortable, and electrical outlets were conveniently adjacent to the bed. Very utilitarian… not a place to take your spouse but it did the job.
- 3/5
In the middle of Chinatown. Good price. You get what you paid for.
- 4/5
The WiFi provided by hotel is terribly slow.
- 3/5
Decent place
- 4/5
It is not the Ritz-Carlton by any means, but if you are someone who is on the go and just need somewhere to lay your head at night, this will definitely do. Literally smack dab in the middle of Chinatown, the hotel was well kept, noticeably older but clean. Wonderful friendly staff and right off the CTA Red line. Literally three stops from downtown Chicago. When the city jacks up their rates for the summertime, this is definitely a place to consider.
- 1/5
Horrific experience. Nothing like shown on the internet!
- 1/5
Would not stay here again
- 1/5
Overpriced and shabby. You will have to haul your baggage up the stairs as there is no elevator and no offer of service to help you. Water leaks from the shower; four tv channels to choose from; not much to see in the neighborhood.
- 5/5
Small rooms but clean. Only downside is they can't accommodate multiple room keys.
- 3/5
It is what it is.
- 2/5
WiFi kept going out on the 3rd floor, prompting numerous trips to the front desk to reboot their Internet service. Not all staff members are competent. One person was sleeping while on duty in the back room. He only woke up when I rang the service bell. This hotel is really a hole in the wall, but you get what you pay for.
- 2/5
Source of infection!
- 1/5
Anyway, Hotels.com should not offer this hotel to customers !
- 4/5
This hotel is excellent for short stays. One caution though, there is no elevator. The staff are friendly and courteous. It is an older building.
- 2/5
The hotel needs renovation. All the facilities look old and not clean. Especially the pillows were so dirty. I had to put my clothes to cover them.
- 4/5
Staff very helpful accomodated a disability and changed our room. Suggested eating establishments, extremely helpful
- 4/5
The hotel is perhaps my favorite in Chicago. You definitely get your money's worth staying here. The entire city is accessible with this hotel as one's base.
- 1/5
Blood on mattress and walls, assuming most of it was from bedbugs. Read all reviews from different sources too
