Hampton Inn Chicago McCormick Place

I wanted to extend my stay in one day and was not able to do this online. I’ve asked the front desk multiple times to help out but they said they cannot and fully booked, though they did have empty rooms for the extra night. Very disappointing.

Everything was clean and well maintained. House keeping was great. Connection to McCormick was very useful.

Other than that, everything else went great. The room was very clean. Every staff member I talked to was happy to help. The complimentary breakfast was among the best I've had.

We had to book this hotel at the last minute. We chose Hampton because you know it will be clean and staff is always friendly. Great hotel!

Clean rooms, friendly and oh so helpful staff, close to subway, good amenities (water and snacks a plenty in the reception area), breakfast was great - in a bright, big room with windows and lots of good food. Will come back. Yummy Mexican restaurant and deep dish pizza within walking distance. Also, walked along gorgeous tree lined streets 1 mile to the museums.

The only thing I did not care for is that housekeeping knocked on my door at 8am and I was checking out that same day.

Everything about the hotel was very good. It was very close to where we wanted to be. However, our room smelled like either mold, dirty carpeting, or a dirty mop was used to clean the bathroom floor.

Two of our pillows had dirty pillow cases, kept running out of food at t breakfast but staff was very pleasant and helpful.

A great option if you’re attending a conference at McCormick Place. The rooms are clean and updated, staff was friendly, there is a sky bridge to the conference center, and the lobby has a Starbucks.

The only issue I had was parking. The site made it sound like parking was available for free, but it is not. I paid $40 per day to park nearby. There may have been some cheaper solutions for parking, but not convenient.

I loved that this hotel had a bridge that connected it to the Wintrust Arena in which is where we were going for our event. The location was awesome because it was literally across the street if you choose to walk outside

I liked that breakfast was included in the rate - it was a huge spread and delicious. Rooms are spacious. Great location - Starbucks downstairs. Subway and market across the street. The L is a couple blocks away. Staff great.

In speaking with other guests attending the same conference, one mentioned experiencing a similar issue with odors in their room, which suggests this may be something the hotel should look into more closely. Additionally, my colleague and I noticed some unusual activity outside the hotel, including cars idling for extended periods and individuals lingering near the entrance in a way that didn’t seem typical of guests or rideshare pickups. This created a sense of unease. While the staff was friendly and helpful, I did question how secure the property is, particularly when there appeared to be individuals in the lobby and entry areas who did not seem to be hotel guests.

The hotel lobby is luxurious and welcoming. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay here if I visit Chicago again.

Elevator was beyond slow which wouldn’t be a big deal if we didn’t have a stroller and luggage. Front desk Staff wasn’t friendly or inviting. Room had crappy views and was nothing like the pictures shown really. Not worth the money in my opinion.

The beds were comfortable and clean There was only one working elevator for the entire stay and it was super slow. The breakfast was lackluster and not very good. They had only one cart to take stuff from your car to your room and it was never free because of the amount of people there were.

The view from the 19 th floor was wonderful. Front desk staff was not welcoming at all. They were very uninterested. Parking was terrible.

One of the hotel’s elevators was broken, which made the trip up and down our room ridiculously slow. Breakfast was all processed foods, with very few healthy options. Most of all, the hotel was just too crowded. Breakfast felt like an airport, with not enough sitting for everyone. Our attempt at the hotel’s pool was a disater: overcrowded, water too cold and another parent jumping in the pool with her yeti boots. It was not a relaxing nor enjoyable stay at all. Staff was very nice.

Only complaint is that one of the two elevators was out of service making wait time extremely long.

The only thing that I didnt care for is that the hotel does not have dedicated parking. If there is an event at the convention center then it is hard to find something close. Having to drag your luggae and items blocks away is a pain.

The cleaning staff were great! The front desk staff were polite. Unfortunately we were told to park in the back parking lot (valet isn't available as of January 2026), but we weren't told there was a 10 minute grace period and my husband was trying to figure out where to park because there weren't parking spaces. We ended up getting charged because of it. The room was clean. Pool was small, but okay.

First off, we didn't get the room we purchased. The room was not clean under the sofa. And the bed frame is on an angle and makes a lot of noise. Rooftop bar was the best part of our stay.

Love this hotel. Only issue this stay was no valet parking available. Lot is right behind hotel so was not too big of issue. Loved our corner room & the Auto Show was great, just a walk through indoor skywalk to get there.

No hotel was fine and no problem at all. It was Expedia that did not have my reservation at the hotel and made me wait almost 2 hours. At the hotel reception, I called Expedia to find out why my reservation wasn't there. Finally, it was fixed, but a bad experience with your company made me twice use you for my travel.

I enjoyed the hotel in proximity of Wintrust Arena. I appreciated that there is connected sky bridges and you can go from hotel to venue. The rooms are not quite sound proof and you can hear noises from the street along with people in the hallway. The sheets were a bit scratchy as well, but got the job done. Overall, if you need a quick place to crash Hampton Inn will get the job done.

Hotel is located in a great spot close to Solider Field, Aquarium, Chinatown, and a short walk to the magnificent mile. Easy access via CTA Rail as well. Hotel was in beautiful shape. Lobby, elevators, pool, workout room, etc were clean and updated. Rooms were good size and upper floors provided some nice views. Was quiet, clean, and provided everything we needed. Would definitely stay again if in the Chicago area.

The staff was amazing and truly exceeded our expectations. They were extremely accommodating, letting us leave our luggage on checkout day and even offering a late checkout, which made our stay much easier. Breakfast was great with eggs and waffles, not just prepackaged pastries. And the room was very clean.

The first night we stayed was very rowdy, tons of people from the club next door in the lobby really loud, taking shots of liquor out in the lobby and a fight broke out my 6 year old was very scared we were grabbing snacks when this all happened in the lobby area. Valet was rude one night losing our car keys as well even after giving our information to them multiple times they just had all the wrong information on the ticket. Overall not a good experience.

When we arrived, the toilet was plugged. The phone didn’t work. There was no ice in the ice machine on our floor. The TV only worked sometimes and the guide never worked. After multiple times of asking for someone to come and fix it, no one ever showed up. They even tried to tell us they tried, but they do not disturb sign, was on the door, which it was not.

Staff was very polite and helpful. Great location for events at Soldier Field. One elevator was down but staff offered recommendations to facilitate getting to our room.

Clean the mold from the shower fix the elevator and the ice maker and there’s absolutely no reason to charge 60 bucks for parking at the hotel you’re staying at! Highway robbery!

We stayed for 3 nights including a Friday night. On Thursday and Friday mornings, to go breakfasts were available. This was an awesome option!! My husband left for McCormick Place before breakfast began. I was able to take something to him. On Saturday morning, no to go breakfasts were available. I inquired about it and was told that these are not available on weekends. The hostess offered to put together a to go breakfast for my husband. She was very sweet and offered several options. We truly appreciated this!!!

Only a hiccup: we were rushing for Abbott Chicago 5k very early morning. So we went to the breakfast 5 minutes before 6:00am and started to grab food. It was our fault, while one staff was not nice.

The battery on our door was very weak when we arrived making it hard to get into our room…they supposedly were sending somebody to change the battery & it never happened. By the AM we couldn’t get in with our key. That’s pretty awful service.

Every staff person was amazing and helpful. Im use to having maybe one or two kind persons, but literally everyone in staff was kind. Check in was efficient. Theres valet parking for a fee, which was great because I hate parking in Chicago. Breakfast had a wide variety and was free.

Need to fix elevator

I didn’t like that we had not hot water to shower when we got to our room or microwave. I asked the receptionist for help but never got anyone from the maintenance team up to help.

First received room key the room was not cleaned and the bathroom toilet was nadt and over flowing. Talk with a member they wanted to fix the room and put us back in it and finally they gave us another room. I never felt so uncomfortable.

When we checked in, we were assigned to the fifth floor. We asked the gentleman if there was anything on the upper levels open because we don’t have any big cities in the state we live in and we wanted a nice view. He was very kind and gave us a room on the 19th floor.

We took our Labrador which travels well and enjoys hotel rooms. Not much grass There are 3 hotels in one building. Was easy, organized, clean & quiet.

I was very disappointed . It was more of a super 8 kinda feel. But with a nice lobby. The cost was over 500.00 for 2 nights. We didnt ha e hot water for half time. The shampoo was empty. . I really woyld og excepted these thi ga and been ok had I not paid top dollar for this

The shower water wouldn’t get hot the first day we were there. It was maybe lukewarm. The shower curtain needs replaced because there was visible mold/mildew on the bottom of it. The mattresses were very worn and needs replaced. The bed I slept on was broken because it squeaked everytime you moved.

We had a fabulous corner room on the 16th floor! Our view was amazing. The front desk staff members had wonderful senses of humor and helpful attitudes. They answer all my questions. It was so convenient to stay here before our Saturday cheer competition. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Close to convention. Walking distance. Would have liked help with bags to the room.

There were some stray hairs in the bathroom when we checked in and some mold in the sink where the caulk is falling off. Otherwise, friendly staff, great view, convenient location for our plans and the valet aspect was nice as well. So it just could’ve been a little cleaner. I’d probably stay again
