Guests generally have a positive experience at the hotel, appreciating the friendly staff, clean rooms, and great location. However, there are consistent complaints about hidden fees, poor housekeeping, and issues with room amenities.

Incredible time at the Fairmont Gold Club Level. Alex, Mandana, Tamara and Jesus made our time there so enjoyable and we felt so welcome. Our personal preference drinks were in the table every morning without being asked. We were greeted morning and evening with big smiles and kind words and genuine interest in our children. ( we were dropping our eldest off for a summer program in Chicago) . Alex had so many great suggestions of things to do near and far as well as phenomenal restaurants..The food was plentiful and delicious. We are extremely happy and will most definitely be back and would like to extend a huge thank you to the wonderful team in the lounge!!! Thank you for being the best!

We enjoyed our stay at the Fairmont. It was steps away from the River Walk. The staff was amazing and so so helpful. The bed was a little too firm for my liking but overall I would definitely book another stay here.

Upon cleaning the room, the bathroom products were not replaced/refilled. The cleaners did not replace the used coffee mugs.

Very happy with my stay. The location was ideal, as it was right next to millennium Park. And definitely within walking distance to Michigan Avenue, where all of the shops and attractions can be found. Front desk staff was friendly from check-in to check out. Would highly recommend, and look forward to staying here when I travel to Chicago again.

Quiet clean room on 34th floor. Great view and great fast service. Room service was fast, maintenance for non-working TV was fast as well. Overall, great 2 day stay.

The location is great and very convenient to attractions and public transportation. The staff were all very friendly, extremely helpful and responsive to our requests. The room was well kept, quiet and clean but could use some updating and maintenance. The bathroom overhead light was missing its cover so it looked like there was a hole in the ceiling. I’m sure if I had mentioned it to the staff they would have addressed it but we were there for just a short time so I didn’t want to make a fuss that might inconvenience our plans.

We paid for a suite that sleeps 5 i called they verified the king suite would have enough bed for 3 separate sleeping accommodations. They said the room would come with a fridge microwave and they would note that a extra bed would be necessary if they put us in a room with a fold out in the front area. None of the preparations were saved on file when we checked in they took my card we had paid for everything upfront they put $625 hold on the card then they provided is with keys and after checking in told us we were charged a $30 amenities fee per day even if we did not use the amenities and then they charged $8.74 per day for transaction, processing and other taxes ontop of the daily charge. So upon checkout we were charged nearly $200 thay we were never informed of prior to booking or paying. Not to mention that the microwave and fridge were not in the unit and had to be brought up after we checked in. However, the staff was friendly.

Clean room, overall nice hotel, restaurant was nice for happy hour. Lobby smelled like an old lady and peltons in gym were broken. Overall lovely stay.

Also, this hotel needs a major facelift to match its other locations. Lastly, some staff need to be trained better in hospitality. Some were not friendly empathetic, while some were incredibly friendly.

- 3/5
The hotel is nice and well-located for our purposes (Pokemon GoFest and the museums by Millennium Park). The staff was helpful, and check in and out were easy. Like pretty much every city, there were no included extras, which we expected. What we didn’t expect was an an additional $35/day charge called an “Urban Experience” fee. The staff didn’t really explain what the fee was good for, and we ended up being charged for what amounted to absolutely nothing. Yuck.

The Fairmont was a great place to stay to see all the sights of downtown Chicago with its great location to everything in walking distance from Millennium Park. Our room was spacious and clean and quiet. Beds comfortable and all modern shower and bath. The staff was incredibly helpful. A shout out specially to Gail Walker the concierge who assisted us with great recommendations for sights and restaurants. She was amazing. We attended the Blues Festival in the park and the location of the hotel was great for that event and all the downtown river walk activities, near public transportation as well. A great and comfortable stay!

Easy check in , helpful staff , convenient location .
- 1/5
The only good thing this property has going for it is its location. Everything else was very subpar. The price seemed nice online and going into it you get charged an arm and a leg for every little thing on the “snack bar” in the room. $20+ for a little thing of chocolates as small as a small bag of M&M’s that cost barely $3 and no prices shown anywhere except at checkout to snag that ridiculous “deposit.” And more hidden charges and fees, oh and the fees get taxed 3 times as well… On top of that our room had a huge hole on the wall below the thermostat “covered” by a huge plank that was leaning on the wall - ghetto. The room had a door that leads to nothing but a wall immediately behind it, you can clearly tell it used to be a much bigger room and they took the cheap way out to make more profit and making more rooms… Overall very dissatisfied with the whole stay. Uncomfortable bed and pillows, etc… Be upfront about prices and maybe include them in the online pricing and not be sketchy to grab extra customers with “good prices.” Do not recommend.

- 1/5
Horrible. We switched hotels after the 1st night. The room had a musky/moldy smell. We got a 1 bedroom room and we were travelling with our kids and reserved the room for 4 people. When we got to the hotel that night there were no sheets on the pull out bed, no sheets or pillows or blankets for it in the room. When we called down they said they would send someone up. They came, dropped the pillows and sheets on the couch and left. The shower has NO water pressure. The bath tub had hair in it (no ours). The shower head was filthy. The in room hair dryer was partially melted and dirty (like sticky). The curtains on the windows were broken so they wouldn't close all the way. Overall the hotel was dark and dingy. Never again.

From the moment we arrived, every member of the staff was welcoming, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our stay exceptional. The level of care and hospitality consistently exceeded our expectations.
- 5/5
It had a historic vibe to it but renovated.

This hotel have a nice location close to everything, rooms are really nice with a beautiful views. Staff is nice except one or two people that get annoyed when you ask questions. We arrived at 10 am and check in is at 4 so we stored our luggage and they told us when the room is ready we would receive a text message, we back again at 3 pm to drop some staff and my husband ask again and the other guy told my husband that the room was ready around 1 pm which never received a text informing us. Besides that I do like staying there.
- 3/5
We had reserved a king bed, but since we checked in later in the evening, I guess none were available and my wife and I ended up with twin beds instead. Overall, our experience with the front desk staff was mixed — some were very friendly and helpful, while others were not.

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel! The hotel was extremely clean and the rooms were large and well designed. The amenities were top notch. The front desk staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. You can walk to any of the top attractions from this hotel and we put on 9 miles a day walking the city. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in the Windy City!

I rented a suite. It was relatively very expensive so I expect more. There was orange seeds on the floor and a piece of orange peel and some M&M shell pieces on the floor when I arrived. The staff were just fair when I asked were certain things wise. It was almost like I expected me to know use terms that only the people that worked there would know. They did credit me that urban experience fee which I totally think is BS and doesn’t really help you at all because of the problems so at least they did something. They said they would offer me an another stay with a couple of free nights to make up for it. I’m waiting on that. They seem to be a smell when I open the door almost like cigarette smoke, but my wife says she doesn’t think it was, but there was definitely something strange. I’m not that picky but when I pay a lot, I expect a lot, but I have found is high-end hotels don’t deliver as well as medium of the road hotels. Maybe they have their customer base and they don’t really care but the medium the road hotels seem to still have a need to grow their business and go above and beyond whereas this hotel didn’t. I’ve stayed here before and was well pleased. This was a huge disappointment a year and a half later.

Stayed here for a recent trip to Chicago and overall the experience was okay. The location is convenient for downtown attractions and Millennium Park, and the hotel itself was clean and comfortable. Staff were generally polite and check-in was fairly smooth. The rooms were decent, though some areas felt a little dated for the price. Amenities and service were fine but nothing especially memorable. It worked well as a place to stay while exploring the city, but I expected a bit more considering the reputation and cost. Good option if location is your priority, but not necessarily a standout luxury experience.

Perfect location to sight see Chicago. Staff were not friendly and when I asked a question felt like it was too much effort for them to respond in a professional helpful manner. Saying that the hotel was beautiful and the rooms were perfect. Great view.
- 5/5
This is my new go-to-first choice hotel in Chicago. Location is centrally located, slightly off the beaten track, and unbelievably quiet. Staff is welcoming and especially kind. Very comfortable room with a bed that feels like sleeping on a cloud. The tub was unexpectedly long with a separate shower. Great valet service, very safe parking. Most of all… Safe!

Staff was very good, attentive. The property itself is in a great location, but the room showed some wear and tear - exposed drywall screws holding on bathroom door trim with some paint slapped on it, smelly sink, water damage and peeling paint on inside window sill, visually boring interior that looks like it's from the 1990's

It's ok, no rats or cockroaches but did I expect better for the price? Yes. And don't be fooled, there are hidden fees, something called a "city resort tax" or something like that (even though it's not a resort--no perks), that you'll be charged additional for at the hotel, no matter what Expedia says about fees and taxes being included in the price.

The room was clean and the staff was friendly. However I didn’t realize the room fridge was preloaded with purchasable items. I would have really liked a fridge for the price of the room. Also the GPS always wanted to bring me to the underground for some reason. I got lost a couple of times and started using the address for the pharmacy across the street.

This is our the third time staying at this hotel. We love it. We love the location because it’s right by Maggie Daley Park. This is a great park for kids and our son loves it. The hotel is beautiful. We love the full bathtub and shower combo. The beds are comfy. The view of Lake Michigan is beautiful. The staff are excellent and we are always impressed with their kindness. Thank you Fairmont Hotel for another great stay!

The property is in a great location, the staff kind and very helpful. The on site restaurant is quite wonderful. I would have to say we had the best meal of our stay of 4 nights in Chicago!the rooms are large and airy and very clran

I was truly disappointed with fairmont gold snack and canapés - they should incorporate more vegan and vegetarian options.snacks was overall terrible just popcorns and candies. But the best part was the room and staff …
- 5/5
Enjoyed our stay, will definitely be back
- 3/5
While the beds were comfortable and allowed for good rest, the overall condition of the room felt outdated and somewhat neglected. The hotel does not reflect the level of quality and attention to detail that one associates with the Fairmont brand. The experience wasn’t terrible, but it definitely fell short of expectations, especially considering the reputation of the brand. With some renovation and better upkeep, this property could significantly improve.

- Room was not cleaned (for a day) despite no DND sign and leaving in the morning - Room service knocked loudly at 8:30am (another day) and woke us up - Hotel ran out of bottled water - Window’s screw came out when opening window. But I did have a problem, as my mistake in the reservation I found that instead of feb 20 as the check in I did march 20. When I did arrived early in the morning of Feb. 20 at 6 am,The person at the front desk did not find the reservation After I did check i found that I did the mistake . I know at that moment that the problem was mine but the front desk person did not offer any solution as Can i book a room for you with the right day ? I did make a new reservation right there in front of him and after that I approch him back again and he just said we have to wait for the reservation to show in the system Which I did agreed. Another point of interest was that I did request by Expedia a early check in. Expedia inform me that for 100 dlls. i was able to do a early check in I was coming from a red eye flight and that was the reason why I did request the early check in witouth a problem I would pay for the early check in , one more time the person at the front desk was not able to inform about the fee to accomodate me early eventhough I did ask him I did enjoy the time in Fairmont Chicago but not the front Desk service. Best Thank you

The breakfast took to long and the some of the food was cold and the waitress drop my food on the table and pick it up with his hand and then ask is everything good, I said know you touch my food with your hands and put it back on plate and walk away. They charge my card twins for the stay after expedia took the money already. So I'm very upset about this.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff, and decked out to the nines for the holidays! Would have loved a bar fridge we could actually use for our 8 day stay (it’s limited to the expensive mini bar items and you can’t remove to put your own food/drinks in) and mugs that actually fit the full cup of Nespresso coffee from the maker (made a mess overflowing every brew), but overall a great stay in a comfortable and spacious room. Thanks again, Fairmont!

There was quite a bit of mildew and mild in the shower. Usually we’re used to having the roads available to us and they were not there during this visit. Overall, I feel that after you switched it from the lodge in the lobby and changed to Toro instead of Columbus tap the vibe of the hotel has went down till a bit. We are regulars and come up at least once or twice a year to stay, but recently stayed at another hotel in millennium park and found it to be a better fit for us.
- 1/5
This is an awful place to stay. We ordered breakfast as room service. There was mold on the bread. I called the manager and they didn’t even take the food out of our room or do anything about it. Probably served it to other customers. When we came back to our room at 1am, everything was still there. We asked them to take it out and they said room service was over. No attempt to remediate sending moldy bread that my child may have eaten. The cart was actually still outside our door when we checked out the next day. The rooms are old and dusty and very difficult to heat up in the winter. What an awful stay.

My family and I stayed in a one bedroom suite with gold lounge access for the weekend, and had a really wonderful experience! We stayed in a beautifully renovated room with a lovely view. However, the real wow factor was in the exceptional service! Mandana and the other staff in the gold lounge were really wonderful! My husband left his expensive and favorite dress shoes in the suite, and he didn't realize until 2 days after we checked out. Within 5 minutes of my husband's call to Security, they checked the suite which had yet to be cleaned, and notified my husband that they had located his shoes. We will definitely be back!

The staff members were extremely kind, and the hotel itself was very nice. The room was clean, and just gorgeous overall. But in the room there was no microwave and no refrigerator, which was beyond shocking especially since we stayed in a suite. Another thing that threw me off was the $250 deposit, online it stated that it would be $50 so I was shocked about the price change. Another thing was upon check out, I was charged $53 worth of state and “amusement” fees which I had no idea about and I’ve never stayed at a hotel that did that. Parking was also a bit of a hassle but I’m assuming that’s just common for the chicago area regardless of the hotel. Overall, I did enjoy myself but for the price, it wasn’t worth it.

- 4/5
Overall the property is very clean and kept up nicely. Very polite & over the top doormen & front counter staff. My only gripe is not being able to get a decent night of sleep either of the nights we were there. Beds were not the best & the pillows were flat enough to be considered thick sheets.
- 4/5
Staff at the desk was great
- 4/5
The hotel charged an undisclosed $25/day fee. They should have made that part of the standard charges, or mentioned it when I booked. I thought it was unfair.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect.
- 5/5
The heater was cooling after a while.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. Everything in it's proper place. Well stocked with all the things we expect to have.
- 4/5
This stay felt we were at a budget hotel, not “The Fairmont.” The elevators were not zoned, so they were constantly packed. We walked down 9 floors every day. The Toro restaurant was supposed to be open for bkfst, but the staff called off. The concierge was NEVER at the desk, so we had to stand in line at the front desk for simple requests. It was a bit disappointing.
- 3/5
Had room issues; breakfast service was very very very slow
- 3/5
The restaurant - wait for a seat was too long and then it took them over 15 min to close E get the order after seating is and then another 15-20 min u til the food came. Probably Will not Go back there again. The Fairmont in Vancouver was a day and night difference. Vancouver was amazing and the Chicago was disappointing
- 5/5
Room was wonderful and clean!
- 5/5
Very nice hotel and area
- 5/5
Great accommodation!
- 4/5
Comfortable & quiet room!
- 4/5
Great
- 5/5
Lovely staff and nice accommodations to help me rest before the marathon
- 5/5
The hotel is great the doorman was exceptional the check in lady never smiled or greet or say how are you very impersonal I wish there are regular in room coffee Expresso coffee is simply for Europeans the room is immaculate
- 5/5
Room, bar/breakfast area for food and cocktails. Room was very cozy & classy. Location!!
- 5/5
Helpful staff
- 4/5
There was a bloody tissue in the ice bucket, but otherwise fine.
- 5/5
No breakfast
- 4/5
Solid place to stay
- 5/5
Nice hotel, free breakfast is only offered to thier gold or above members but Breakfast at Toro was quite nice.
- 5/5
I’mn yeah I could actually but I will
- 3/5
The room was dingy. The handle was off the bathroom door. The bathroom door did not close. There was little to no sound barrier to the room next door. Overall disappointing.
- 4/5
The place is great but $86 for one night of parking is beyond reasonable
- 5/5
Clean room nice overall facility and great location
- 4/5
I would actually rate it 3.5 stars. Front desk staff weren’t particularly welcoming. WiFi was slow. $25 per day activities fee was a rip off. There should also be a less expensive option for breakfast. It was comfortable enough but little annoyances detract from the overall quality of the experience.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the Toaro was excellent. One of our favorite hotels in Chicago.
- 1/5
TV didn’t work. They said beds were queen size pretty sure they were full. Took almost and hour to bring my things to the room. Waiting 40 minutes for towels.
- 3/5
Good location
- 5/5
We were able to go early check in early !! Perfect location to walk to everything downtown and very safe clean area
- 5/5
Clean room, good staff
- 3/5
One person at front desk during checkin in the afternoon. Rooms are dates and not well maintained. Bathrooms lights are sunk in, reciept from previous guest shoved in. Toilet paper stuffed in peep hole.
- 5/5
Excellent
- 3/5
But we have visited many Fairmonts in ither cities and the Restaurant or buffet is superb, in this case the restaurant is outsourced, small and we had to waut for service, it was ok. Eouldnt stay in this hotel again in my next trip to Chicago.
- 5/5
Celebrated our 40th Anniversary. The hotel staff were welcoming, helpful, and engaging. The room was beautiful, with an amazing view towards Millennium Park.
- 5/5
Right by the Millennium Park was perfect for us first time visitors to Chicago and the Stuffs were super friendly and helpful, yes building is older and might need a bit of update but we were very comfortable and happy to stay there
- 5/5
Excellent location!
- 5/5
Nice room
- 5/5
Great place to stay.
- 4/5
Love it
- 3/5
Even though this hotel advertised as a luxury hotel, it is not- the hotel is old and needs to be upgraded. There were cracks everywhere and the bench in the entry was filthy. There was no TV remote in the room, had to ask for one and when it came it did not work well. The food is over priced and is no pool in the hotel.
- 5/5
Was an excellent vacation start to finish. We will stay here again.
- 5/5
Great place
- 3/5
We didn't get a lot of basic supplies and had to call for each one separately. The hotel is nice but it's overpriced for the quality of the service we received
- 5/5
Property was located well. Staff was excellent! Amenities were great!
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Very happy with hotel. The food was good quality, room had excellent view, plenty of space and bath was appreciated after running the Chicago Marathon.
- 4/5

Great
- 5/5
Front desk very helpful with a check-in update. Good access to loop transportation.
- 5/5
House keeping was awesome, room was always in great condition. Lobby and restaurant were great.
- 5/5
Wonderfully quiet room, wonderfully convenient location. The shower stall was quite small, and with hardly any water coming out of the shower head, was my only negative
- 5/5
Room was clean, elevators were fast, AC kept it cold, hot water was piping, and it was great proximity to all that I wanted to do.
- 5/5
Great spot for Chicago marathon. Service very friendly and nice
- 2/5
We were not asked if we needed complimentary water, we figured out the next day, when we asked about it and again has a long wait at the front desk since there was only 1 staff. There was no shower gel bottle, I ended up literally using the shampoo. The room usb plugs were not working and had to charge my phone, headset and watch with the plug in cable that i had carried. Not pleased with the service and experience was stressful especially since I was there to run the Chicago marathon.
- 3/5
When we checked in the bellman advised us not to touch the minibar or we'd incur a charge - 'very very sensitive'...but by then I had pulled a bottle of white to read the label before putting it back. He said that would have triggered a charge and he's ask the desk to make sure we didn't get charged. At 1 AM the next morning a $47 charge hit my card. The next morning I asked the front desk about the charge and they couldn't explain it - 'maybe a fee, we can't see it...'. When we checked out they didn't provide a receipt, said they'd email it...they have not. I called cust service which rang me to a voicemail in credit...probably will not get a call back. Also, Orbitz's 'what you see is what you'll pay' is not accurate...there are fees they don't show in the price.
- 5/5
Fabulous suite overlooking Millenium Park and Lake Michigan. Clean, attentive staff, and good amenities. Walk to everything.
- 5/5
Great overall!
- 5/5
The Fairmont is excellent. Perfect, convenient location to the Riverwalk, Michigan Avenue and beach. The hotel is stellar with great views, clean rooms, comfy beds and a great restaurant.

This experience for me and my wife was incredible. I took my wife out and surprised her for our 10 years by staying at the Fairmont Chicago hotel. When I arrived I checked in. The thought crossed my mind to go and see the room before I take her to it. I was not satisfied with the room as we didnt have the ocean view and that was the main reason I paid extra for. The gentleman I worked with name Tom at the front desk provided me with an amazing service. He came upstairs to see the room and I explained to him this was for our anniversary and wanted to do something specail etc. He right away understood and saw my vision and changed the room. He took me to my new room ans made sure I was satisfied with it the view it gave of the city etc. We went back downstairs and he updated his system to reflect the room change. I had another request was to have a decor planner come to decorate the room before I brought and he even took takecare of that. Thanks to him when we arrived we were already checked in and room was beyond cleaned and decorated towards our liking. Our stay was very satisfying with a huge thank you going to Tom. I look forward in visiting Fairmont hotel again whenever we decide to visit Chicago. Thanks, Nothi is close expedia is incorrect. Google map your destinations.
- 5/5
Room and hotel were very clean, every staff member I came across was very friendly and helpful. Mevlut went above and beyond to help my check out go smoothly. Specifically chose this hotel for its location and proximity to shops/restaurants/attractions and it did not disappoint.
- 5/5
Such friendly employees
- 5/5
Visit them again!!!
- 5/5
Beautiful property and room was very comfortable.
- 5/5
I statyed only for one night, did not use any hotel amenities, but absoultely enjoyed the room. Hotel is very conveniently located and even though there is a fire station across the street, it was not noisy at all.
- 4/5
Nice clean property. A bit dated.
- 3/5
Room was a bit outdated with severely worn furniture; but otherwise was an okay experience
- 5/5
Amazing
- 4/5
Floor not vacuumed thoroughly. Shower tiles mildewed.
- 5/5
Perfect location, very clean, super comfy bed + pillows! Would stay there again!
- 3/5
Restaurant “Toro” leaves a lot to be desired.
- 4/5
Really enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was a little off putting being they didn’t have a working toaster and were out of everything both days. We were also charged for snacks in the room that we absolutely never touched which was also confusing. The hotel and area itself is stunning. Bed was very comfy. View 10/10.
- 5/5
Valet, doorman, bellman and front desk were outstanding on addressing our requests. The location of the Fairmont at Millinium park is perfect. The view from the room was majestic.
- 4/5
Clean room, great amenities, the lobby smelled so good. The employee we checked in with however, gave us an uncomfortable welcome when referring to incidentals and how we’d be charged if we ruined anything. I stay at hotels all the time and never had a speech quite like that, it felt racially motivated.
- 3/5
Nice property
- 5/5
Clean room and staff was friendly. Offer me early check in.
- 1/5
A) The room had multiple damaged spots on the ceiling and the door frame was damaged where the lock was, like someone had tried to break in before. B) The bedding had brown stains on several spots like they were never cleaned or replaced before we got there. We asked for replacement in the morning and came back at night and found the same bedding there. Then had to stay up till 11 until someone showed up with new bedding. That’s unacceptable by any standards. C) The room seemed to be not cleaned and ready before we got there as there were several items missing in the mini bar. When we checked out we realized we were charged for the missing items. Nothing looked like a fairmont hotel except the name. Now after 2 nights stay I am worried about not getting sick staying 2 night at that room! I will also connect with their management to give my feedback
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
Perfect location!
- 5/5
Remarkably tranquil spot in the middle of downtown. Great location.
- 2/5
Bed very hard furniture very outdated
- 2/5
asked room service to renew the coffee supply and cups. while they came in time after i call they only added decaf coffee. no attention to details. will not recommend the hotel to anyone. the best part one of the check in staff and the valet/doormen at street level. very nice and attentive
- 5/5
Gorgeous, upscale hotel. Convenient to Millennium Park, Michigan Ave, and Riverwalk. Clean, quiet room with a view. Enjoyable stay.
- 5/5
I loved it definitely will be back. Great safe location
- 5/5
The only thing I would suggest is to update the rooms.
- 3/5
The only thing i would
- 3/5
This hotel is outdated
- 5/5
Club were lovely and everyone was very attentive. The perks of money for the Mexican restaurant was lovely and the gym was clean and well stocked. My room had a great view of the lake.
- 3/5
expected more from Fairmont
- 5/5
Our room had a partial view of the lake
- 4/5
Bed comfort was top notch!! Beautiful hotel. Cleaning could have been better… there was a take-out bag with a cheeseburger in it sitting in the fridge cupboard and some hairs in shower. Other than that- no complaints!
- 5/5
Overall I recommend this hotel - the breakfast in the bar was great. The only reason I gave a 4/5 for service was the housekeeping staff did not replenish everything (tea, bathmat, toilet paper) or respond to the requests on the note I left. This resulted in me needing to call for replacement tea, which was brought up with unnecessary cups and a platter by a waiter who didn’t quickly leave as if he was waiting for a tip. All I requested were the tea bags to be replenished, not to spend the additional tip. Also the toilet paper wasn’t great for the quality of the hotel. All that said I would definitely stay at the hotel again.
- 3/5
One gets charged an "urban experience fee" of $25/ day for staying at this hotel. This fee gives you $15 towards food at the restaurants (which are okay, but the service is incredibly slow because there is only one kitchen across the restaurants), and the fee also covers guest passes to a health club that wasn't open during the times I was free, so I was basically forced to pay $25/ day for $15 credit towards their restaurants. My room had a nice view.
- 5/5
Great property. View was amazing
- 5/5
Clean quiet room near both Michigan Ave and Millenium Park.
- 5/5
Love it
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff were amazing. We would definitely come back!
- 5/5
Exceptional staff at front entrance
- 4/5
Great location!! Right off of the riverwalk so there’s plenty to do around the area. The staff could’ve been friendlier and more attentive. One thing that I did not like is that you had to request a microwave and fridge as these are only provided upon request and they don’t tell you that at check-in.
- 4/5
Convenient to magnificent Mike
- 5/5
Excellent hotel.
- 4/5
Hard to find using GPS. Went around in circles. Parking as a guest for one night was a ridiculously $43. Was automatically enrolled in the “urban experience “ as I was charged $25 for that -have no idea what that was. NOTHING IS FREE IN THE ROOM -WATER, snacks, etc. Everytime you turn around you’re charged for something. Can’t even load your own luggage onto a trolley so you have to pay the valet.
- 5/5
Very walkable to local attractions. Friendly and accommodating staff.
- 4/5
The hotel was in a convenient area to walk around the city and enjoy your time.
- 2/5
The property is average. Staff service is below average and not welcoming. Check in at 4 pm is inconvenient as check out at 11 am is terrible. We tried to extend our check out to noon or 1 pm but couldn’t. This would not be our choice of hotels in Chicago or anywhere else.
- 3/5
View was good. Maid service was poor (no soap, room had stains on walls, was not vacuumed). Alex concierge was terrific.
- 5/5
We love it! Front desk staff are so nice and helpful, thank you guys!!!
- 5/5
Amazing views and exceptional service
- 5/5
I enjoyed my stay. The concierge was very nice and helpful
- 4/5
This is my third time staying and I really like the hotel and the area.
- 5/5
Great
- 5/5
The hotel is walking distance to the Millennium Park and to Soldier Field. Saved on money for transportation
- 5/5
I had a great stay and I will be back next year
- 3/5
The property was serviceable, but demonstrated a lack of detail in some basic areas. Replaced TV remote control that did not work well; new one did not work well. No mugs/glasses for the Nespresso machine. Staff at the coffee bar in the lobby was a real bright spot, as was the valet/bellhop crew. I wanted to really like this property, but I did not.
- 5/5
Valet was extremely professional; front desk staff was very helpful. Room was beautiful.
- 5/5
Property taxes are outrageous
- 5/5
Very nice suite
- 5/5
Everything was fantastic for our weekend getaway. The property was in a fantastic location! We walked to everything on our itinerary The staff were so nice and accommodating. It was a lovely stay.
- 5/5
Clean room, nice smell, quiet & peaceful place
- 4/5
There were a few clumps of someones hair in the shower, tub, and trash can. The rooms have no refrigerator or microwave which is really terrible considering how much this hotel costs. I'd rather stay at a lower star hotel for that reason alone. Had to waste the leftover food we had.
- 5/5
Very nice and courteous staff. I loved the fact that Fairmont is very cautious about plastic use. They use paper water cartons, bamboo cutlery etc etc. Kudos to Fairmont!! Awesome job guys!! Keep it up!!
- 5/5
Fairmount hotel is very nice and fancy. The room is more spacious compared with other hotels in the area. I got a complimentary upgrade to the signature suite, which is huge! The city view is epic. Location is just the best, easily walk to everywhere. Not a big fan of the urban utility fee though, I had no chance of using it on anything.
- 4/5
Front desk say something then negate what they said as I requested a fridge they said yes it is available then changed their mind and adviced to use the fridge that contains bottles that are censored which could charge me a lot had I not brought it out to their attention /
- 4/5
Great service and staff. Confusing directions when using rideshare as Google gives drivers instructions to basement entrance that is closed at night. Gold lounge was not worth the extra money
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
Hotel was in a good location to shopping and activities.
- 5/5
.
- 5/5
Great spot for a Chicago trip. Easy Walking distance to the waterfront. Nice gym. LOVED the fact that the rooms had windows that crack open. I need fresh air and more and it is become harder and harder to find hotels with windows you can open. Hope they never change that. Restaurant was really good. Rooms need a makeover, but they are large, clean and comfy.
- 5/5
Great staff and perfect lication
- 4/5
Enjoyed the tea and coffee provided in the room as well as the toiletries.
- 4/5
Good
- 5/5
It was a wonderful hotel.
- 4/5
The staff was accomodating
- 5/5
Nice staff & big rooms. Late checkout request long 1pm was great too
- 5/5
Amazing
- 5/5
Smelled
- 4/5
The room was great, very spacious specially for traveling with a toddler.
- 5/5
The BEST part about our entire trip to Chicago was the friendly and helpful staff! The ONLY place in the whole city we encountered kind smiling people that went out of their way to help with anything! Roberto at the front desk deserves special recognition! I was trying to navigate to a nearby pizza place on foot and had three children with me and my GPS was NOT working at all the entire time I could find nothing; so I went to the front desk and Roberto was there with a smile and a super kind explanation about how it wasn’t my fault I couldn’t find anything and that the city being in layers messed up the GPS for everyone and it wasn’t just me! Then he took me outside and down the block to the corner to point out the street and turn I needed to take and made sure I understood and felt confident about going and we made it!! And that was NOT the way GPS was going to have me go (surprise surprise). All the bellmen were so nice and helpful and kept our luggage for us when we had an overlap in time and that allowed us to go see so many things on foot like the Art Institute and the Bean and shops! The valet was so fast and friendly, we expected to wait 20 minutes for our car and it was there in 5! We will DEFINITELY be staying again! The feeling of being safe and cared for are second to no other feeling when staying away from your own home; very well done and SO many thanks!
- 5/5
The location is amazing. The food in the restaurant Toro was great. The wi-fi was very functional. The staff at the welcome desk were very helpful.
- 5/5
Hotel staff were wonderful, very friendly, very professional. Maya at the front desk was terrific and so helpful. Our room was clean and quiet and we had a lovely view of the city. We had breakfast three times at Toros the hotel restaurant and the manager Geraldo was wonderful to us. The restaurant was clean, the service was excellent and the food was delicious. It was obvious that Geraldo takes great pride in this establishment and runs it beautifully. Xavier was our waiter and he was very attentive and accommodating. I highly recommend this hotel and this fine restaurant for anyone wanting to have a wonderful experience in Chicago.
- 5/5
Overall, great and resonably priced stay, accessible to many attractions/activities. Would return!
- 3/5
Additionally, the room had many small insects crawling on the ceiling and in the corners of the walls, which made the stay even more uncomfortable and unpleasant.
- 3/5
The ‘Urban Experience Fee’ charged, which wasn’t known when booking, seems to only leave a bad impression. True luxury brands shouldn’t have to nickel and dime their customers.
- 5/5
The room was very clean and staff were very responsive and nice.
- 3/5
It’s a lovely hotel with large rooms, great location but it feels very dated and basic. The room is sparsely furnished with old and poor quality furniture. It just feels like it needs a huge renovation.
- 5/5
The guys outside the front of the hotel and the coffee bar in the mornings
- 5/5
Awesome location and great staff !
- 3/5
When we left the room for the day, cleaning women ask if we needed anything, as to say she didn’t plan on doing anything to our room. We did ask for clean towels, and she brought them. For what we paid for this room, we expected much more
- 5/5
Nice piace
- 4/5
What I like about this is that is near every attraction that I wanna go to and I hate that the parking for public transport was not available and hard to find
- 5/5
Convenient to DuSable Harbor
- 5/5
The location is perfectly situated to restaurants, public parks, and the lake. The staff are extremely professional!
- 3/5
Unlike the Intercontinental, the Fairnont charged for early check in. The room had some stains on the bathroom floor and they were very responsive. Turns out the stains were permanent and could not be removed. Then the toilet backed up and they were able to fix that quickly. There are also mandatory 'urban experience' charges that invite a slight discount on services provided by the hotel. Prepay for a discount you may or may not partake of. Location is super convenient though. Close to everything downtown. If flying, save yourself some stress- take the train.
- 2/5
Shabby and odorous room. All kinds of hidden fees.
- 5/5
Staff was awesome at this well located and renovated hotel. The Gold Lounge was a great feature and worth it for coffee, drinks, food, extra space with views. Staff in gold lounge terrific and kind. Good value at this fairmont.
