    I like the location, it is walking distance to just about any and everything. The view right on the Chicago river was beautiful, the security was great felt very safe. The was very comfortable and relaxing. I didn’t like the price of valet and no microwave to warm food. Not sure if there was one available for to use outside the room.

    An excellent property in a great location in Chicago. Walking distance to Michigan Ave., the Riverwalk, the Red line and lots of restaurants and bars. The hotel service was excellent from the check in to the restaurant staff to the bar service. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We'll be back!

    They don’t do refunds just something to be aware of. I lost $400 bc my plans changed- even when I protected my stay and Hotels.com did not reimburse me either. Otherwise location is excellent- get a River view- it was a highlight of our 24-hour stay- bar drink are like $20 a piece just a heads up. They also charge a $30 fee for just being there in the hotel. Super close to Chicago theatre- 2 minute walk, which was amazing since we were going there.

    Clean and nice looking lobby. Staffs were all very nice. They were able to give us a room a few hours before check in time but our city view wasn’t that great. River view would’ve been better if I would’ve known about all the tall buildings by us. We also got a room by the elevator so lots of traffic, but the noise levels from outside the street and from upstairs were all so bad. So it was a big drawback of our 1 night stay.

    The staff were so helpful and courteous during check-in and with any questions I had. I feel that WI-FI should just be included at the hotel. They did deduct the charge, but it feels this should be part of your stay instead of being charged.

    I’m a repeat customer, this is the perfect location offering great views of the river for New Year’s Eve fireworks. This time, we noticed the room was drafty but when you pull the heavy drapes, it definitely keeps the room warm and toasty. There also was no body wash in the shower, luckily we brought our own. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay! Staff was professional and service was great.

    The location alone deserves applause—steps away from an impressive lineup of restaurants and just around the corner from the iconic Chicago Theatre, which adds a touch of old-school glamour to the stay. What truly elevates the experience, though, are the views. Waking up to the waterfront feels like the city is showing off just for you—calm, beautiful, and effortlessly photogenic. It’s the kind of view that makes you pause mid-coffee and briefly reconsider your entire schedule for the day. Equally memorable is the staff. Every person we encountered was genuinely wonderful—kind, attentive, and remarkably composed. It’s important to acknowledge how challenging it must be to care for guests, especially during one of the busiest times of the year like New Year’s Eve, when expectations are high and the pace is relentless. Yet the team handled it with grace, warmth, and professionalism that never felt forced. They made a demanding job look easy, which is no small feat. Convenient, vibrant, and visually stunning, this hotel strikes a rare balance between energy and elegance. Whether you’re in town for dining, shows, or simply soaking in the scenery, it places you exactly where you want to be—front and center, with a view, and supported by people who clearly care. While we genuinely enjoyed many aspects of this hotel—especially its prime location near countless restaurants and the iconic Chicago Theatre, along with the beautiful waterfront views—there were two issues that noticeably took away from our stay. The biggest disappointment was the in-room dining experience. We were traveling with children and, given that it was New Year’s Eve and restaurant options after 8:00 p.m. were not realistic for our family, in-room dining felt like the perfect solution. It was meant to be a special moment: sitting together by the window, enjoying the view, welcoming the festivities as a family. Unfortunately, that vision fell flat. Our meals were delivered in basic takeout boxes—no real plates, no proper cups, no presentation at all. For a hotel of this caliber, especially given the premium pricing, this was surprising and frankly disappointing. The food itself was overpriced and unpleasant, which made the experience feel even more off-brand. One of the small luxuries of in-room dining is the feeling of being cared for; instead, it felt rushed and impersonal. We do appreciate that if a hotel offers in-room dining, it should come with real plates, proper glassware, and thoughtful presentation—this simply missed the mark. The second issue was the temperature control in the room. It was extremely drafty, particularly near the windows. We had to turn the heat up to 80° just to remain comfortable, and even then you could still feel the cold air coming through. It took away from what should have been a cozy, relaxing stay—especially during winter. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it in terms of location and views, but these two issues—poor in-room dining execution and significant drafts—were hard to overlook. With some attention to comfort and guest experience, this could easily be a standout stay. As it stands, it fell short of expectations in moments that mattered most.

    Pool is great for kids. Location is great. Room service is very fast with all the normal options. Having the bar in the lobby was a nice touch. Also able to check in at noon which was awesome, but probably won’t always be like that Ok this might be dumb but the milk and OJ in the mornings suck. It’s not fresh, the juice is a tiny little minutemaid bottle and the milk comes in those tiny cardboard boxes we had at school. It’s not even about the money, but paying $9 each for a 25 cent milk carton felt like they were nickel and diming me

    Room was clean, could have spit cleaned the restroom a bit more(walls). Telephone did not work had to contact front desk after locating their number via google search; room was supposedly deep cleaned due to allergens but when I walked into the room you could smell pet dander. Curtains did not fully close and toilet did not always flush; sink and tub water also had a slow drain causing build up and back up like the toilet.

    Upon checking in, my room was not a "Riverview" one and there was no complimentary breakfast - the front desk said that these were not included in the nightly rate that I paid for. Lastly, there is a 30 USD/night designation fee that you are notified about after the completion of your booking - this should be highlighted clearly prior to the booking.

    Terrific location right on the Riverwalk, close to everything we wanted to see and do. Easy check in, staff were terrific. Facility was very well kept with plenty of amenities. Our room was very nice, the only negative was that there wasn’t a way to keep the bathroom door open, it always slammed shut. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

    Location can’t be beat, Starbucks connected to the property, beds were comfortable and the bathroom had nice amenities. Generally we felt the room was clean and well kept. We also loved that you could get great tasting cold water from the workout room!! Things that can be improved-more hooks for towels, bags in bathroom. This was a struggle. Sink area was small for two people. Bathroom door wouldn’t stay open which meant we used the garbage to keep it open often. Finally, the “resort/amenity fee” offers some benefit, but not enough to merit the price of it each day. Usually avoid hotels with these fees, but wanted the location so settled. Probably won’t pick it again if the price is my competitive.

    Chase in St Louis is a good exanple. The Drake cd stand a little bit of an update. The furniture was a bit wobbly, there were awkward repairs in the bathroom, the sofa bed was painful, plus there was no refrigerator in the room and the toiletries were crap. But the room was HUGE and full of the kind of dated glamor that makes staying at a place like this an event of its own.

    Beautiful property. The lobby is very impressive. My first thought upon entering was to look forward to having a drink at the bar with friends and family that night. Room and bathroom very clean. Fabulous view from my room 1930. Concierge and driveway/valet attendees were very helpful with taxis/Uber assistance as I was traveling with my 86 year old Mother. On two separate occasions they offered to drive us to our destination in the hotel SUV (small fee. It worth it).

    This is one of the best marriotts I’ve stayed at in a long time. I had a very minor incident during my stay with room service and the managers took care of it immediately (including some comp champagne and chocolates) and I was very impressed, I didn’t even have to ask what can they do to make up for it because they beat me to the punch! As a former employee of the Marriott brand I was always love the hotels and this stay reminded me of why I love it so much. Very walkable and so many shopping/food options near by. 10000/10.

    Excellent location right in the heart of downtown Chicago, nearby train stations going into all sorts of directions (incl Union Station & O’Hare), plus key sights, shopping, and restaurants in comfortable walking distance. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lots of amenities on site. Beautifully designed lobby and dining areas as well as generously sized rooms exude a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Would come back anytime.

    This was my second time visiting this property because i liked it so much the first. This time I brought my kids. They loved the room, pool, and being in walking distance from attractions, shopping, and good food. This will be our go to place to stay when visiting the city.

    Nice hotel, decent location, but beware the view of theTrump sign across the river & prepare to gag. The room was clean and beds comfortable. Neither the heat control or toilet flush were working properly. We were forced to pay for a "destination package" of $25/day for hotel food -- will never stay here again because of this. The menus of the 4 or 5 eateries was unappealing. We settled on one since we were forced to partially pay for it anyway. The food was bland at best; we requested extra salt and pepper just to give it some flavor. Room service breakfast on day 2 -- again forced to partially pay for it. They forget to cook spinach in the omlet, so dumped a handful of uncooked spinach in the tray and threw the omlet on top. The third omlet ingredient wasn't included at all. I'm in downtown Chicago; I can walk less than block and get good food. Maybe this is why they force you to pay for hotel food; otherwise no one will eat it. We were on the 12th floor, with no sound proofing to the outside street, so listened to repeated sirens and bucket boys drumming into the night. As I said, will not stay here again.

    Beautiful hotel right where everything is! Great staff who were eager to help with our things. Room was refreshed every day. Pool area was clean and it was warmed. High class place for work or pleasure. I will stay there again!

    It was an okay experience. We ordered room service and the grilled cheese was not tasty at all. The $100 hold a night I’m not a huge fan of and the room needs updating for the price we paid. Also the mini fridge in the room wasn’t plugged in which took some time to figure out. I give my stay a 6/10

    We had a lovely view of the river, especially of the city lights at night. The hotel was clean, the bed was especially comfortable, and the staff were lovely. The nearest metro station was a short walk away and there were plenty of dining options nearby. Can't wait to stay here again!

    Stay was very nice the only issue we had was that there was no prior notice regarding the state of the two places to eat within the hotel (a huge part of the reason we booked here was to stay put and eat in the hotel.) upon call to the desk that evening discovered the Roof location was closed until 1/11 and we were directed to the downstairs location - upon our arrival down there we were informed that it too was under improvements and was not open to be able to sit at an actual table and eat. Since we had not made any other arrangements, we were forced to dine at the bar. Food was good and drinks were good however we had not planned on spending the money we did to stay at a hotel where we had to dine while sitting at the actual Bar.
