Reviews
Guests have mixed feelings about their stay, with some praising the friendly staff, clean rooms, and convenient location, while others express disappointment with hidden fees, poor service, and outdated facilities. The hotel seems to be popular for its proximity to the airport and public transportation, but the high cost of parking and lack of free Wi-Fi are frequent complaints.

You’d think getting a hotel suite not downtown you’d have free parking but not the case at all. Huge amounts of empty parking lots that are unused but charge you 25 dollars a day to park or walk half a mile.

Hotel itself looks fabulous. Great breakfast and also spacious room. Staffs are friendly and approachable. Location what good. Quite and safe
- 4/5
Check in was great and we loved the room - very clean and comfortable!

It was quite and clean Paying for parking although the manager did comp the cost

The property location is very convenient to the Blue line and other transportation services. The property is fine but the quality needs to be improve as for a Renaissance Hotel i expected a little bit up there. The services is excellent in checking in. But parking was a but awkward not working gates. In room coffee ,tea and sugar condiments a bit more if possible. Towels needs a bit extra one or two. Overall rated not bad for Chicago. I quess you pay what you get. Thanks

Stayed for just one night on the club level, taking the hotel shuttle from the airport. The front desk staff were great. Club room staff were fine - could have been more welcoming, but maybe they are supposed to be low key? Room was lovely.

I ended up using towels for padding and to stay warm, essentially building my own bed just to get through the night. For a hotel stay, this is beyond unreasonable—it’s honestly embarrassing. I will not be staying here again.
- 5/5
The room was really spacious and clean, and the view was also nice. The hotel staff was really good and the infant crib was provided instantly. we had a very relaxing stay.
- 5/5
Clean room, lobby is gorgeous and cozy, buffet/breakfast center- great service with special mention to Manny, the waiter and server. Front desk personnel, Mae, is very efficient and helpful-

Felt like an exclusive hotel with plenty of soundproofing - heated pool was awesome easy parking

Will not be attending again.

Large room but outdated // need of upgrade , mondernize
- 5/5
Shuttle is for 14 people, so be early and aware as others will try to get in front of you
- 5/5
Great staff! Everything was very clean, especially pool area. Had a great stay.
- 5/5
The overall look of the hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. I was pleasantly surprised with the look of the room, even for such short stay.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay at. So peaceful and beautiful
- 5/5
Great place to stay for traveling to and from ohare. Shuttle pickbup and drop off perfect. Nice hotel to stay also.
- 4/5
I overall enjoyed my stay. Staff was courteous as understanding. The minor issue was the urine in the toilet when we got to the room, no trash bag in the garbage cans and small amount of hair left in the shower and no extra sheets available.
- 5/5
Our flight was cancelled and we made a last minute reservation at this hotel. It was close to the airport, included a shuttle, and was very well appointed....all for a great price.
- 5/5
Yes very clean & nice location

Excellent service - room is outstanding.
- 5/5
Everything was great except for the tv , had no connection a lot of the time and couldn’t connect to prime video at all and difficult to connect to YouTube.
- 5/5
My stay was excellent 10/10
- 5/5
Too many kids running in the pool area and kids under 3 years old swimming in the whirlpool !!
- 5/5
John who was bartending was awesome!
- 2/5
However, there were a few things I was somewhat disappointed by. Our room was equipped with only one small blanket for the plastic pull out couch (I usually thought it includes a sheet, cover, and at least a pillow), we had several noise issues with our neighbors (some who decided to start shouting in the hallway at 2am.) we called the front desk around 11pm, then again at 1am, but the noise would get quiet and then continue to get increasingly louder. In the swimming pool we found several small questionable white and black particles in the water. And finally there was a marijuana stench that emanated from one of that rooms that was so overwhelming it made our clothes stink of it the next day. I’m all for having a good time, but not like this.

This is a pleasantly surprising little gem near the Chicago airport. It’s an excellent value and I highly recommend it. This will be my go-to hotel in Chicago.
- 5/5
Clean room, good wifi, solid food, very safe, great staff, peaceful, quiet, and overall beautiful experience.
- 5/5
Excellent staff, very clean atmosphere. Overall a great place.
- 5/5
Small issue with original room was handled, expeditiously. Clean and spacious room. Would definitely stay again if/when I return to the Chicagoland area.
- 5/5
The room was spotless. The staff was beyond professional and accommodating.
- 5/5
Loved the property especially the pool
- 5/5
The room was fantastic and great location.
- 5/5
Shout out to Shay at the front desk who made my check-in a dream after being unexpectedly stranded in Chicago. It was nice to have such a friendly and helpful person go the extra mile to get me settled after so much airport stress. Room was perfect. Loved having starbucks access. Will stay here again if I ever come back to Chicago!
- 5/5
Great hotel!
- 3/5
All the restaurant staff we interacted with (and room service/housekeeping staff) were awesome people! The pool and fitness area were a little outdated and dingy. Overall, it is a decent hotel but you could likely get better amenities elsewhere (newer hotels) for the same price.
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
The room was halfway cleaned. The closet still had used towels in it when we arrived. The let out couch was dirty and had no linens. The customer service was good.
- 5/5
Amazing front desk staff very helpful with all our questions. Very clean room.
- 5/5
Friendliest staff at this hotel - very courteous and helpful. Room was clean and spacious, with a separate living area, and parking garage was easily accessible through an indoor hallway on the first floor.

Everything was so nice from dinning inside to the breakfast bar the coffee shop everything was so great
- 5/5

- 5/5
Hotel is somewhat outdated, renovation will be a reasonably added value
- 4/5
The airport shuttle took like 45 minutes to pick me up. I was almost an hour when they tell you that it’s every 15 minutes and it was very cold outside. Everything else was good.
- 5/5
Clean room staff was great
- 5/5
Clean, quite it was great for our 1 night stay would definitely stay at The Renaissance Hotel again whenever I'm in the Chicago area
- 5/5
The room and common areas were very clean
- 4/5
The bed was not as comfotable as I imagined.
- 2/5
The beds were as hard as rocks, there was no bedding for the pullout couch, which two was having spring sticking through the mattress. There was not enough towels. We were not notified of the room being ready till we have after checked in at 6:30 at night. We finally got an email. We had emailed we were ready for a early check in at 9 AM.
- 3/5
I was told free parking and WiFi and breakfast. Once I got to the hotel I was told that’s it was all a lie and I had to pay $40 dollars a night for parking.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect except for my suspicion of a prior guest’s stay with animal. Although, the room appeared very clean, those of us allergic to dogs know without actually knowing. My allergy symptoms began to rage within two hours. My wish is that hotels dedicate an entire floor for guests who travel with their furry companions, considering that a large population of individuals are allergic to dogs and/or cats.
- 5/5
Clean room nice staff.
- 4/5
Good place
- 5/5
Parking in the ramp is $40 a night but there is a big open lot to the right of the hotel that may be free. Lobby is beautiful and clean, Starbucks is a plus and opens at 6am. TV’s are huge in the rooms, the bed is very bouncy but extremely comfortable. I like how the living room is separate from bedroom. Bathroom is connected to bedroom and living room. Overall I would stay here every time I come to the O’Hare area.
- 5/5
Was definitely a nice stay, perfect access to the blue line train and made it hella convenient to transport back and forth to downtown Chicago
- 5/5
Very quiet even so close to airport. (10 min by Blue Line) Very friendly stuff at restaurant (Mr. Manuell).

- 5/5

- 5/5
Excellent stay.
- 5/5
Nice room with a comfortable bed and plenty of pillows 🙂 Starbucks on site which was great! Would definitely stay here again.
- 5/5
Clean and very nice people
- 5/5
The property is clean and has all the amenities. Staff are polite and always friendly. Restaurants, shopping, movie theater, and access to transportation are great. Yes, this hotel is near the airport, but it is just the perfect place to stay. We love it and will be back.
- 5/5
Had a late request, didnt recieve the sheets or extra towels. It was okay though, because we ended up going to bed soon after
- 5/5
Beautiful hotel. Loved the divided room with the bedroom being separate from the office and living space. Loved the huge glass shower as well! Having two television was very convenient and the couch was very comfortable. Beautiful view and although it was close to the airport, we didn't hear a thing but out the window we could see so many planes! Customer service was amazing, they were prompt, respect, and got us checked in and out with no hassle.
- 5/5
The staff was very welcoming. Close to public transportation (Blue Line). Free half-hourly shuttle to O’Hare Airport. Starbucks inside. Clean and modern room, and stocked bathroom.
- 5/5
Loved the location! Great place to stay with small kiddos.
- 3/5

Everything was clean and friendly! Right next to the train
- 5/5
I loved it here
- 5/5

- 3/5
Fast assist but need to be more clean
- 3/5
The hotel was nice and clean and the room was more than I expected but however I was very disappointed with check in , check in time is 4pm and i arrived around 8 to 9 pm and was told that my room wasn’t ready and that I needed to wait for the room.
- 4/5
Nice place
- 5/5
I really enjoyed my stay. Upon early morning arrival, the manager courteously checked me in early to my room , which was such a blessing. The lobby is beautiful and all staff were very friendly and professional. The rooms are clean and upkept for the most part. Some upgrades can be done to the wooden furniture and blinds. I liked that there was no urine smelll in neither the hallways nor rooms. I saw a staff member deep cleaning the carpets. This hotel overall will give you all of the amenities you need for a nice stay. Its a 5 minute walk to the train station as well. Affordable, convenient & safe. This will be my Chicago stay hotel. :)
- 5/5
Love the service! Very friendly, and very eager to help. Heard us talking about where to eat and recommended a fabulous restaurant. Rooms were great and nice pool, locker rooms, and fitness center. Will stay again!
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful
- 3/5
The public areas in restaurant lounge and lobby need to be cleaner. The bar was sticky and in the restaurant there were fruit flies going after my wine. The room was clean, but the tile in the bathroom shower was dirty. A bit more food choices would be nice.
- 4/5
Great experience except they didn’t answer the front desk phone when I called a bunch, and when they did, I asked the lady for a late checkout and she said no. But when I went and asked in person (another lady), she said yes. The cleaning l as does said it shouldn’t be a prob. If I leave at one and someone checks in at 4pm, I don’t see why they’d need more than 3 hours to clean it. I liked how big the room was. And it was a standard room. The parking lot machine didn’t work.
- 5/5
Thevu for the emp
- 3/5
Even after Expedia includes parking and free internet while staying, front desk charges $12/day for internet and $25/day for parking claiming parking is 40%discount. Not a good business to sneak in petty charges after the booking.
- 3/5
Everything was great besides paying another $40 to park in their parking ramps after paying for a hotel room.
- 5/5
Good suite rooms but sofa bed is old and not very clean. We loved the pool, sauna and hot tub.
- 5/5
Wery nice hotel to stay, and friendly staff.
- 4/5
More food on the menu and put the pool and hot tub on the ad for promotion
- 5/5
Walkable to CTA blue line - 24hr train line to city and back. Budget friendly for tourist. Stay/park here and go have fun in city/party whatever and come back safely in train and walk home (hotel). Good friendly staff.
- 4/5
Hard and overly bouncy bed, but quite nice space, very clean, expensive parking fees ($40 additional).
- 1/5
On both mornings of my stay, housekeeping knocked and nearly entered my room at 9–10 AM — even though I wasn’t checking out. This was disruptive and unnecessary. My specific in-room dining request was ignored, and the interaction was handled in a way that felt accusatory, as if I might dispute charges — something I’ve never encountered at other Marriott properties. When I brought these issues to management, I received only policy explanations and no meaningful resolution or gesture of goodwill. For those who value their status and expect consistent Marriott service standards, this property is a disappointment.

- 5/5
I was skeptical due to reviews but this place wasn’t that bad. I do think they need more lights in towards the side parking area and honestly it’s 2025, they need some led light around the mirror or something. The lights are too dull. Body wash and lotion smelled really good, the place was spacious and clean and house keeping was perfect. I had the king suite and honestly enjoyed my nights there.
- 5/5
Clean, quiet and staff were really friendly.
- 4/5
The rooms were very spacious
- 5/5
Very good
- 4/5
Everything was fine except the chipped tile and dirty, old caulk in the bathroom.
- 1/5
Unsafe for women. Self-parking is inconvenient. Customer service is atrocious.
- 5/5
Great site and wonderful restaurant.
- 3/5
Nice hotel, but not a great location if you don't have a car - nothing walkable. They were not prepared for a large number of guests - check-in line was very backed up, and they didn't have enough airport shuttles running.
- 1/5
They didn’t have clean towels when i asked for them. The lady that was at the desk in the early morning was rude. They charged me $200 deposit PER ROOM (i had two). They told me it would take 3-5 business day to get my refund back, then told me 5-7 business days. It’s been 10 days and i still haven’t received my deposit back.
- 5/5
Great for a one night stay! The hot tub / pool area was really nice to use.
- 1/5
Hotel was worn out rooms were dirty parking is in a parking structure next door to the hotel where you can’t access hotel without walking through parking lot paying $40 a night for that is so unacceptable hotel is all the way ran down

The hotel was nice but when you don’t know your surroundings is hard to rate it. So I’ll just say what I noticed - room was clean. I liked the shower , it was nice and spacious. I had a living room area too and that was comfy .I didn’t like that they don’t have new chargers for the phone as I forgot my block at home. I could not charge my watch because there was not outlet for that. I called front desk, they also didn’t have anything that could assist. He said that the tv might have a port but it didn’t. I ended up getting help from the bartender but that meant I had to stay at the bar for a bit and it was already late. Additionally they do not have FREE wi Fi. Whaaaat? They said is only for BonVoy members and I was not interested. You spend money for a room 150+ and you can’t get free wifi ?
- 5/5
Beautiful location and great service
- 5/5

- 5/5
Great, staff was great, room was clean, very updated
- 3/5

- 5/5
Great service and a wonderful place to stay!
- 1/5
When I first checked in the room they gave me have dirty underwear on the floor by the bed & also had blood on the covers. They moved my room & it wasn’t no better didn’t have enough towels. Security was working room service, employees was so rude with horrible attitudes I wasn’t the only one having a bad experience but a few other people that stayed at the hotel was experiencing problems as well
- 1/5
The hotel shuttle driver didn't show up at the scheduled time leaving a crowd of people frantic to catch flights. Hotel staff had no one to call to see what was happening
- 5/5
Great location. Good service
- 1/5
Expedia refused to call this hotel to get a refund for me. I did not even stay at the hotel and the hotel was going to give me a refund however Expedia that still have not called them and it’s been over 72 hours.
- 5/5
Loved the elevator access an the pool was amazing
- 5/5

Lo que más me gustó fue la atención que recibimos de los empleados. Buena atención..otro valor importante es la ubicación del hotel. Muy cerca del tren.

- 5/5

This is my absolute favorite place to stay when I visit Chicago & I’ve been staying here for at least 8 years. The have we nice wet are with a WARM pool and hot tub. Friday night are the movie night at the pool. The rooms are always clean not to mention nice . My only negative critique wools be that they charge 100$ per night deposit, But it is what it is !
- 5/5

Conviently located to airport with shuttle and Rosemont area
- 5/5
Great location and service!
- 5/5
Clean room but the area around it wasnt particularly favorable
- 5/5
NIce pool and hot tub. Fast elevators. Staff was very friendly, courteous and professional. Very clean and simply decorated. We enjoyed our two night stay.
- 1/5
I was originally booked from April 21-25. I wished to stay an extra night and was told to book on Expedia and they will keep me in the same room. I accidentally booked the wrong night from 24-25 vs 25-26. I was told this was canceled because I have an existing reservation, and I rebooked for the night of 25 and I would be refunded. Expedia called hotel and they refused to refund me for that night even though THEY canceled the reservation, not I. This is APPALLING service.
- 5/5
Great staff, some furniture in the room was a bit worn.
- 3/5
My stay was great ! Everything you had to pay for . Parking , breakfast , even your WiFi if you’re not a member ! Probably wouldn’t stay again cause it’s too expensive with dirty rooms and not even complimentary breakfast
- 4/5
I thought the hotel room was spacious and clean. The staff were great.

- 5/5
The place is really nice and pretty quiet. The rooms are very clean
- 2/5
Pool was closed because of feces and there were no sheets for the bed
- 5/5
Convenient location
- 5/5
Nice property
- 2/5
It was a nice clean hotel. I did not like having to pay for parking and the elevator in the parking lot was broken. I did not like when we went to the pool and it was overcrowded with police because of a fight then it was shut down and I wasn’t even able to use the pool that I paid for.
- 4/5
Staff were friendly. The room was spacious. The beds were older and a bit too firm. The furniture was quite dated and not in great shape. It was fine and convenient for me but I’d choose better beds next time.
- 5/5
It was fun and very very nice room. Breakfast was pricey.
- 3/5
The hotel was fine. The common spaces were pretty dirty. The restaurant was overpriced but to be expected. The room itself was comfortable. Charging for wifi is crazy in 2025.
- 2/5
Hotel seem very dated, below average conditions and room a had minimal amount of needs for our night stay. Very disappointing stay for anniversary celebration.
- 5/5
The room we had was cold and it was Christmas Eve! We were accommodated to another room which was great! We stayed 3 days two nights!
- 5/5
Room is very comfortable, and we love having Starbuck's downstairs!
- 5/5
Wonderful service from everyone I talked to.
- 5/5
Easy check in, affordable, friendly staff, good food, comfy beds. Love this hotel.
- 4/5
Nice stay for my business trip. Things are broken in the room and it's definitely dated. Otherwise, the bed was comfortable. Also, there was a shuttle from the airport which was a plus.
- 5/5
Everyone was very friendly, room was very tidy and clean. The shuttle to and from the airport is very nice as well!
