    Worst experience I've ever had. Room smelled like smoke and gaslighted by staff that refused to acknowledge. Left immediately and received no refund. Luckily Expedia was extremely helpful and accommodating. Would not recommend.

    Great location in the city. Everything was a quick Uber or short walk away from the property. A few steps, and you're able to oversee the Chicago River. For the price for 2 nights, I would've expected breakfast to be included but unfortunately, we had to pay separate and it was around $30 extra dollars; we paid $800 for 2 nights.

    The location was excellent — very convenient and close to everything we needed The pool towels were surprisingly small, and some of the gym equipment was broken or not working properly. Also, the breakfast is overpriced if it’s not included with your room. Paying $30 per person for it doesn’t feel worth it — there are much better places to eat nearby for the same price

    This place was amazing! Heated pool was actually HEATED! Food was delicious, room and bathroom thoroughly cleaned, friendly staff, fast services, and overall great! We came on a holiday weekend which made cost higher. But we enjoyed ourselves. I highly recommend and it’s close to Magnificent Mile. One minor issue of the refrigerator having stains.

    Breakfast bar was terrible. Hot food was cold, bread was stale. They did give me a break on pan parking because of that. Rooms were ok, workout facility nice. Location was nice, we were able to walk to magnificent mile and navy pier.

    For the price I paid, I expected something nicer. Especially as the selling point is the amazing views from the rooms. I had a view of the roof of the pool. The room had no kleenex, remote/tv didn't work properly, the breakfast was overpriced and the overall property felt like an average Holiday Inn rather than something special which is what I expected.

    Arrived at 1:30am it was as pleasant as 1:30pm. Appreciated the dry sauna, Steps to Chicago River to sit, walk, enjoy, and the Merchandise Mart on the other side. Morning coffee/tea in room, thank you! Carpet, older carpet, combined with cheap luggage wheels and bags packed too heavy makes for a challenge.

    I called their staff if we could do an early check in and he said yes and so we came in. The moment that I went at the reception he told me that I had to wait for a text message about the room availability. While waiting, I’ve seen multiple people trying doung an early check in and THEY WERE GIVEN A ROOM! I approached the guy at the reception after about 30 minutes and he finally gave me only 1 room . So I waited until 4pm for another room to be available . Around 3:30 , I went down and saw the same guy at the reception of 15th floor. He did not give me a room and said that I still have to wait for their text message and so I went at the first floor. Into my surprise I spoke to a girl at the reception and she told me that she has an available room . The lady’s name is Maya and she was so nice and accomodating but that other guy , he is not accomodating! Is it because we are Asians? I am not coming back again at this place anymore . I will not recomment this to my friends . That guy was so so rude! Imagine coming from a flight and everybody was so tired and then your family will be treated that way?! This is the first time that I was treated so badly in a hotel .

    room and hotel is beautiful…the rest is appealing to the eye but upon further inspection is concerning or even unappetizing. the food at the bar/restaurant was unfortunately not up to chicago standards. the drink was even worse and very heavily artificially syrup based old fashioned was disgusting. sink was not installed correctly and anytime ran water it would just pour all over the counter top. no amenities are given besides a small marshmallow.

    Voco DT riverwalk is in such a lovely location, the staff are very helpful with guidance from ground level to upper floor rooms. Staff at the resty and convenient mart were also kind. The rooms are refined and updated. The common area on the ground floor could use a dehumidifier and the common area around the rooms could be modernized. The restaurant area is updated and airy. I would stay again.

    Voco is a hidden gem. The staff was beyond excellent! All of our requested accommodations were met by the front desk staff Loretta, she was professional, patient, informative and polite. Ignacio was our main bartender during our 3-day stay and he was everything you could ask for in a bartender...he made my whiskey sours to perfection 🎉 even housekeeping was polite and available it seemed each time we needed something. Voco is my go-to when I travel to Chicago in a group for these reasons, it's always a great stay!

    The lobby of the hotel is lovely however the hallways to the rooms are dark and cramped, not very inviting. You can hear the people talking in the next rooms and the sounds of the trains woke me up in the morning. The room was not clean; there was a pillowcase with makeup stains on the bed and the wait baskets were not emptied. The water pressure in the shower was horrible. I don't think I would stay at this hotel again.

    The hotel was nice, check in was at 4pm but they were extremely busy and I had to wait an hour and a half to go to the room, then the room I booked was not ready and would have taken longer so I just settled for what was available. When I asked about a price compensation they gave me a breakfast voucher and said that’s all they could do. Overall nice property and the room was clean, but the check in process was an inconvenience.

    The staff was fantastic! They were extremely helpful and were able to check me in early. This is the main reason I will be back. They are located very close to the Mart and there is a sky bridge connecting to hotel to the Mart. It is a great Hotel and I will be staying there again next year when we have our next meeting.

    I reached out again and the front desk gave me the same response again. I ended up going to the front desk to address it in person, they told me it’s been an ongoing issue “for a while” and that they would give me an $80 credit (I was there for 2 nights). I picked this hotel because of the pool they have advertised as “heated pool” and the pool is basically one of their main amenities. I was willing to overlook the ice machines not working on several floors, the depressing $27 breakfast buffet they had, no Netflix in the room, and even the inconvenient elevator situation - but the pool not being heated was a big disappointment.

    We really enjoyed the location, the cleanliness, and setup of this hotel. Staff: some were better than others. Breakfast: I would say pass. The staff was helpful, but the TV cast to watch other apps wasn’t going to be working for the entire duration of our stay. So we checked out. We were there for maybe 2 hours and we were informed we couldn’t get a full refund only a partial which was an inconvenience. We did leave and check into another hotel that was fully accommodating.

    From the start of making the reservation, the entire staff I felt with was spectacular. D’Otis, Bon & Kevin were all very professional and on top of things. Can’t go wrong with a great cocktail at the 15th floor bar complimenting their excellent food. The skyline suit is a MUST. Would absolutely recommend, and will be back for another visit.

    The alarm clock was constantly going off and I couldn’t reset it- it seemed like there were 10 alarm times set and they kept going off no matter what I did. I finally asked the hotel to take the alarm clock out of the room. The TV kept freezing and going blank. The hotel mentioned that this was a problem receiving the signal from the cable company, but I was there for three nights, and it was never fixed. I don’t want to be harsh on the housekeeping, but the trash cans weren’t emptied, and the fitted sheet kept coming off the bed at night. The hallway water dispensers they use instead of bottled water were not working. It wasn’t an uncomfortable stay, but it just seemed that things were off. I am sure my next day will be much better…..

    I travel a lot, and I choose a hotel based upon views and the room layout out. This was not the premium King room that I seen online. The shower door does not close all the way, so the floor is soaking wet while taking a shower. You can hear everything upstairs above me as well as next to me not satisfied at all with my stay or the room, I haven't slept since I've got here because you can hear everything through the walls and footsteps running across the ceiling all night this is not what I seen Online as a premium king room and not what I expected. You walk in you smell marijuana throughout the hallways and on the elevator this place is not what I expected at all. I'm very underwhelm.

    I wasn’t sure if the staff could keep up that level of service for a 17 day stay while I was there on business. They actually exceeded expectations. Ignacio in the bar has my kids still talking about him. My only issue was the swimming pool going ice cold out of nowhere and that was one of the reasons I booked there was so the kids had a heated pool to swim in and nothing was done to fix it. Other than that one issue I was very impressed.

    The Cons: The bathroom didn’t have any water pressure (shower or toilet), parking is a very expensive additional cost, they put a $200 hold on your account regardless of how much you paid for the room, breakfast buffet is the quality of a regular Holiday Inn stay except instead of being free it’s over $20/person, the elevator situation is inconvenient because you take one elevator 15 floors and then walk across a large lobby-like area to get to the other elevators that lead you up to your room. I had unexpected/unexplained transactions from the hotel that I now have to dispute. There’s also no microwave in the room for those leftover Chicago eats and you have to travel back down to the lobby to use the microwave there. I’ve stayed here twice and enjoyed it the first time around, but coming back a few years later I was disappointed. I recommend going for a king size with a city view if choosing to stay at this hotel because they’re very nice, located on the east side (from my first experience) and have the better view of the Chicago skyscrapers and river. I don’t recommend booking the rooms with multiple beds because they feel much smaller and darker and the hallways seem very dark too.

    The stay was overall good. Great location and beautiful views. The room is nice and the staff is incredibly friendly. However there were a few things we ran into. Our room was cold and we needed to keep the heat cranked all the time and even still, there was ice/frost inside our windows and felt breezy. When I called to ask, they just said it was “because it’s Chicago”. It was very cold outside, and we were on the 20th floor, so I suppose that makes sense. But it really was very drafty in there. Anything by the window was freezing cold. It also had a weird smell that really made me stuffed up and was irritating for the kids too. Also, when we went down to the pool the first night, it was freezing cold. Apparently the heater had broke and it never did get fixed. My kids were really disappointed as this was a main thing they were looking forward to and I booked it because of the pool. When I asked about it the second night at the front desk, he did offer to give me the one night at a discount because it wasn’t fixed. That was very nice, but I think we should get a discount for all three nights seeing as the pool wasn’t working the entire time we were there and impacted our plans/expectations. We didn’t get housecleaning on the second day, only towels dropped inside our room but not enough for the three of us. And we ran out of toilet paper (they don’t keep the room stocked) with extra.

    The sky view of the city was amazing. The room was lovely—very clean an inviting. And the breakfast is quite good as well. However, the front desk is extremely understaffed. I had to wait in line about 15 min to check-in, and another 10 min to obtain my breakfast voucher because it was not provided when promised. There is a combined check-in in for the Holiday Inn on the lower floors and Voco on the upper floors. There was only one person working at the front desk for two hotels on a busy holiday weekend. That was really unacceptable.

    The hotel is in a great location near everything. The subway and bus stops were nearby if needed. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The lobby on the 15th floor had beautiful Christmas trees and views of other buildings. The room was comfortable and clean with view of the city. The only thing I didn’t like is that you have to take the elevator from the 1st to 15th floor then go to another set of elevators to go up to your room. It’s a bit of walk if you have a lot of luggages. Other than that, everything was wonderful including the staff. I would definitely stay here again at my next visit.

    This was one of our favorite hotels that we stayed at. The view was great and it was in a great location to a walk to nearby bars or restaurants. The staff was awesome.     It's a great location for a Chicago stay. It's away from most of the busy downtown intersections, so no loud sirens & horns all night. Great bar and food in the lobby.     Booked a room for my girl birthday and she loved it. Check in was easy my whole stay I was greeted from staff and had housekeeping my entire time I was there very much appreciated. Clean room very comfortable bed. There is a mini fridge in room but no microwave. However there is a microwave on tha 15th floor in the lil gift store which is accessible until late night. Didn't get into heated pool but it looked clean. Tha fitness center had plenty of workout equipment which was a plus. They have a buffet for breakfast that's 26$ smelled good but I just ate leftovers from tha night before haha. There is a restaurant that has nice views of tha city and a bar seating as well. Bartenders were amazing. A lot of shopping centers and restaurants within walking distance as well. Will be back thanks Voco.

    Although the room and experience was almost right, there were a few issues to where I felt like I deserved a discount for. First, the hotel advertised casting content to the TV’s but my room did not have a functioning TV at first, requiring a technician to come fix it across the first two to three days of my stay. Then, housekeeping came in to clean the room and left the door propped open for the entire day, leaving all my belongings exposed and easily able to be stolen while I was out. I had the best experience I could, but feel that I shouldn’t have paid what I did after having these issues.

    Room was good but it’s a bit weird that it’s both the Voco and a Holiday Inn and I can’t help but wonder if my room would have been the same room for less if I had reserved the Holiday Inn. Also entering the hotel is a bit weird - you check in in the building lobby and then must be directed to the right elevator bank to get to the real hotel lobby floor. But all in all it’s a good place to stay especially if visiting the Salesforce tower as it’s just across the street.

    I stayed at Voco Chicago and really enjoyed my visit! The hotel was clean, modern, and in a great location—everything was within walking distance. We paid $50 for early check-in and were told our room was upgraded, but after checking later, it looked like we were in the same room type we originally booked, so that was a little confusing. Other than that, the stay was smooth and comfortable, and I’d definitely stay here again!

    Everything about our stay was a 10/10. The server during dinner was phenomenal this past weekend! He was truly the best part of our visit. The only thing I can say that went wrong was our housekeeper forgot to leave us any washcloths after cleaning on Sunday, but that’s an honest mistake. No biggie!

The price was great compared to other hotels in the areas. 5. When asked how my stay was going and I provided my below cons feedback they did provide a credit to use for food and/or drinks. Cons: 1. The room itself could use some upgrades. The furniture was a bit banged up. 2. The cleanliness was subpar. I found eye contact lenses in the shower, there were chips left on the floor, and when we checked mattresses there was food remnants in the seams. 3. The breakfast buffet was terrible. The food was cold and not appetizing and for $26 per person I’ve had better free continental breakfast than this. Overall the stay was worth it for me mainly for the views and customer service but I will not return.

    The hotel is in a great location however you have to take 2 different elevators to get to your room which can be a hassle especially with lots of bags. The staff and the room leave a lot to be desired as well, the first night we were there just about every staff member was rude.     Overall it was pretty decent. Room was clean, comfortable, and quiet. Unfortunately on the first night, our television and safe did not work. They credited our room $50 for the inconvenience which we used towards the breakfast buffet, so that was nice! They ended up fixing the faulty accommodations promptly the next day. The location was perfect for the things we wanted to do too so we were pleased with it's accessibility factor as well.

    Room 2148 was great, spacious and had a good view. House keeping did a good job. My only concern was that I had someone use a key and walked into my room with the “Do not disturb sign” on the door. This was around 9am I had just gotten water from the dispenser and came back to the room. Housekeeping was working on that floor and I know he wasn’t part of housekeeping. He did apologize and left immediately, but it does raised questions and seemed suspicious. I did not follow up with the incident because I was already going to checkout that morning.

    I recently stayed at Voco Chicago to celebrate my birthday. While the room itself was beautiful and the view was truly top-notch, several aspects of my stay fell short of expectations. Prior to my arrival, I informed the hotel I’d be celebrating a special occasion. It would have been a thoughtful touch to provide any form of acknowledgment—a small birthday card, a complimentary slice of cake, drink voucher, or even a simple “Happy Birthday” note. Unfortunately, there was nothing, which felt disappointing for a hotel of this caliber. The daily parking rate of $61/night also felt excessive. Comparable downtown hotels offer rates in the $40–$50 range, so the price was surprisingly high. Additionally, I didn’t receive room service during my stay and had to request towels myself. When I asked for a luggage cart, I was told none were available. I assumed I would be contacted once one was free, but no follow-up was provided. Ironically, on my first trip to the car, I noticed two carts sitting unattended near the elevator. Overall, the hotel is gorgeous and well-located with impressive views, but the lack of attention to guest experience and service made my stay less memorable than it could have been. With better customer care and more reasonable parking, this could easily be a five-star experience

    This was the second time my husband and I stayed here since I was running the Chicago marathon. It’s very convenient to the brown line train and walking by the riverfront. I was a little disappointed I didn’t get a view of the River like last time and check-in was a pain. Rooms weren’t ready and we were told the hotel would text me when my room was ready and they never did. The toilet also ran off and on all night and was rather loud so I closed the bathroom door. Overall, a good experience and the room was very comfortable.

    The water purifier was coming out extremely slow on our floor, and the next day no water was coming out at all. We had to go to another floor to refill. Also, we left for the day and had no sign on our door for do not disturb. Upon our return, there was a “out and about” sign on our door handle on the outside we had not placed, and our room hadn’t been serviced/towels replaced/beds made.

    The property is nice, there is an onsite restaurant which is convenient, I didn’t try it because we already had reservations elsewhere, each night of our stay. It’s a bit of a maze getting from the parking to the room, but in my experience with downtown hotels, they are all like this. You do get in/out privileges for parking which is nice, and the parking isn’t as expensive as I’ve paid in the past. Tv was malfunctioning during our stay which was upsetting for my husband. Breakfast and coffee onsite but plenty of coffee shops nearby less than 5 minute walk. I would recommend traveling with friends or companion for safety reasons. Rooms are spacious, no microwave inside the room.

    Everything was good except the shower was not ready for us. The shower head was the kind that you could adjust at different levels and it was pretty much stripped and you had to hold it or it would fall. They offered to come and fix it but we declined. Also we did not housekeeping service the second and last day of our stay which meant we had dirty coffee cups and glasses as well as towels. We had a sign up that said Out and About thinking they would come while we were gone but that didn’t happen . The staff was extremely pleasant and the facility was clean.

    Pictures didn’t match the room selected. The receptionist told me it’s because i booked through a third party they post pictures that’s not accurate, however on the voco downtown Chicago website they have the same photos posted. When i requested to have my room switched to the room i paid for, i was told management would reach out, that never happened. The sheets had holes in them and didn’t fit the bed. The toilet leaked water and my fiancé almost slipped and fell in the middle of the night. No one responded to any complaints even when asked. I also have pictures.

    The room was great spacious, i got a view it is a bit obstructed and the windows aren’t very big but it was still nice. The only real “issue” but not even a issue was ice we were on the 21 floor so having to go 5-6 floors away for ice wasn’t too convenient and the fridge didn’t keep it cold enough to stay frozen.

    It’s a beautiful property, but you can tell that quality products were not used in some ways. We had issues with our room and got changed several times and then downgraded. They did provide a refund for the price difference, but the overall inconvenience took three hours and we missed our reservation.

    The hotel was beautiful there was only a few things that I would mention the bedspreads on our beds were really thin ,could of been thicker but our room was pretty. The pool water was a little chilly and while we were swimming cold water was being put in it. And lastly the drink prices were a little high but overall a good place to stay

    Seems like sometimes there was no one working and it was hard to get any assistance from the concierge especially if you calling from your room. 50/50 on someone picking up. Regarding the property it was very nice a little tedious getting to your room as you have to take 2 separate elevators. Overall not bad stay but not amazing. Great location and very close to the riverwalk.

    Everyone with the exception of the black lady was nice. The older black lady was very rude. My cc was charged an additional amount of $221 outside of the deposit and payment. My bank notified me of a fraud alert. When I tried speaking with the older black lady at the front desk she brushed me off and wouldn’t let me finish my sentence. Secondly, the tv channels did not work nor did the ac. It went from being very cold to very hot the reminder of my stay.
