    This hotel is on the brink, and it could go either up or down. The location is absolutely wonderful, right across the street from the Merchandise Mart, the beautiful RiverWalk, 1 block from some good restaurants and fun pubs. The waitstaff at the restaurant were excellent! However, in the room... broken towel bar. Repaired, but then drywall was left all over the bathroom and not cleaned, and they used our room towels (!!) while doing the repairs. So then we didn't have any clean towels, and had to keep calling over and over again, trying to get the room cleaned and fresh clean towels. Broken front door to the hotel, rather inconvenient esp with luggage. Thankfully the ADA compliant door worked well. Carpet was very sticky and the room smelled quite damp and musty. The furnishings were nicely updated, the bed linens were nice and clean, good pillows. The rooms and hallways were not well lit and felt gloomy. Beautiful views, but the windows were so dirty it was hard to see through them.

    Having breakfast included was great. The location was amazing and walkable to many great destinations. The bed and bathrooms were clean. The only issues I had were the ac unit leaking excessively onto the carpet and spiders outside my window. They didn’t get in but it was a bit unnerving.

    This hotel was so clean and our room was taken care of every day of our stay. The staff consistently went above and beyond. The room was spacious, quiet and the beds were so comfortable! It was a wonderful stay. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel at all. 100% positive experience

    Rooms were run down and dirty. Our rooms AC unit was extremely loud and we got no sleep. Someone came by to “fix it” and just hit it. It was dented in and never properly cooled the room and it continued to make weird noises. The location was amazing everything else was terrible including the $16 espresso martini at the bar. Would not recommend

    Check-in was a nightmare… long queues so we were told to go to the 15th floor to check-in… only to find there was no one there! Went back down to ground level only to be sent back up to the 15th floor. Disaster! Also has no bath towels in my room on arrival. Called housekeeping which went to voicemail. Called reception which went to voicemail as well. Total fail! Not a great welcome and arrival at your hotel… you must do better!

    Receptionist and bar staff are great. Cleaning staff are awful, if they even exist. Phones don’t work Room service cleaning never left new towels, never cared to ask for. They came, made the beds and left. We try calling the receptionist to ask for towels but obviously the phone doesn’t work! It’s not even connected and when trying to do so you will noticed it generally doesn’t work. We then went to the receptionist and ask for towels to be delivered in our room, that never happened. The location is amazing and the rooms are ok. There is so much potential! Needs better maintenance and management.

    The stay was alright. I’d recommend booking direct so you get a better room. My friend advised me of this prior to booking and he was absolutely right. I was placed next to the the service elevator and service closet, so I’d hear the staff going in and out of the service closet most of the morning with their carts. It was pretty loud, but apart from that, the stay was fine.

    1. My booking included parking, I was there for 3 nights and I had to come down every day and tell you guys to remove it from my bill. 2. Please let your guests know kids eat free at the buffet. We didn’t know this but the waiter was nice enough to ask if we had vouchers for the kids. That’s how we found out we didn’t have to pay for the kids breakfast. 3. When I went to get the breakfast vouchers on our last day, I went down to the first floor at 6:30 am and when I asked the person behind the desk he seemed annoyed and said sure. Almost like if I was asking for something i wasn’t supposed to ask for. 4. When I called for room service, the person who answered said they would be there as soon as they started 9:30. It was 11am and I had to call again. Finally someone came over but not until I called again. I needed my trash picked up and clean towels. 5. Last, around 6am on our last day at the hotel I checked my bank account and I had a charge for the buffet and parking fees. When I checked in they put a $200 hold on my account for any services or damages to the hotel. My parking was already paid for. 6. Quiet hours are from 9pm to 9am which make no sense because the people at the bar are super loud.

    The location is very good, but the hotel needs to make some improvements. First, when you enter, there is a strong smell of humidity, which I imagine is coming from the carpet. The same smell was noticeable in the hallways and in the room. In the room, I found that the sink was clogged, and the shower curtain had a strong marijuana smell. I believe housekeeping should use a checklist before leaving the room so the next guest can have a better impression. Other than that, everything was good!

    Beautiful on the surface. Terrible smell of heavy perfume in the rooms. What on earth happened here to require such a strong smell to cover it up? All the hotel provided soaps and lotions are heavy scented dollar store brands. Pack your own. No maid service until late in the day, after 3:30pm. We had to vacate room for housekeeping after just getting back. Luxury looking property, but skimping on details. Clearly there’s not enough staff to cover the required rooms. Every member of staff was exceptional, they were just clearly overwhelmed.

    The Holiday Inn Voco at Wolf Point continues to exceed expectations! Warm, welcoming staff, spotless rooms and outstanding service by housekeeping! I call it my home away from home and I stay there frequently when visiting our children! Spectacular views, inviting atmosphere and stay second to none!     Everything outside of the room was clean and very nice to look at. Our room, 1740, had so many ants on the bathroom floor and on the bed. We didn’t notice until almost midnight and just left everything as is. Toilet had stains in bowl.

    Beautiful area and close to everything. We walked to all the key places. The view from our bedroom was nice, but the room itself was a bit smaller than expected, the AC was noisy, and the tub fixture was not well-maintained (maybe only in that specific room).     BEST VIEW RIGHT HERE! Be sure to choose the skyline view. MAYA at the front desk was SOOO SWEET! First time in Chicago with my teen daughter. Everything was walking distance or (scooter/bike ride) if it was too cold, we took Lyft. Lyft was about ($8-$12) to get anywhere. Small cafe for snacks and grab to go stuff. Beautiful bar with a view & restaurant. The room had taken out their fire detectors but it wasn’t an inconvenience. The rooms have thick walls so you can’t even hear anyone outside. The windows are so thick, it was perfect temp even though it was super windy and cold! Amazing restaurants all around! Probably my favorite place that I’ve visited in a while. Definitely can’t wait to return and will 100% rebook here!!! 20/10 ! Thank you staff ! ❤️

    Great location near the Loop and River North. Larger than average room with two double beds. Maybe I'm weird but I also judge a room by how great the shower performs; this one was really great, lots of pressure and hot water on demand. Access to the CTA trains via skywalk to the Merchandise Mart is really nice. Nice large indoor pool too. Great lobby with a big bar & restaurant. We did not eat there but lots of people took advantage of their buffet.

    The room has some updates but the bathroom sink is metal like a kitchen sink. The outlets could not hold my block. Maintenance had to bring me a surge cord. The rugs are outdated. The television did not operate the entire weekend and the refrigerator was not working either.

    2. I went to buy my kids food at the market around 7 and it was closed. Apparently the employee wanted to take a break so she closed the store. While we waited I sat down at the bar area and got told I had to move since my kids were with. I understand there are laws but we were just waiting for the market to open and watch basketball. 3. We got to the hotel around 11:00 and had to pay 50.00 to check in since we were early. If our room was ready, why not just let us check in? 4. Lastly, I didn’t know that parking would be 62.00. At that price you should have valet. This is the 1st place we’ve stayed in Chicago without valet in a long time, if ever. Overall, the place was nice, clean and convenient for the train station but let us down inways.

    Great hotel, worked great for my family and young daughter. A downside is this hotel does not have many businesses around it so plan to drive or uber to somewhere or have it brought to you. Option to have parking included which I would definitely recommend for longer trips.

    시카고 리버워크 근처라서 성 패트릭 날 행사 구경에 좋았어요. 주차는 한블럭 떨어진 곳에 했구요. 건물 구조상 바에서 생기는 소음이 새벽까지 이어지는 건 아쉬웠어요. 커피 머신이 원래 꼽힌 자리에서는 작동하지 않았지만 다른 콘센트에 꽂으니 잘 작동했어요. 전기 배선 확인이 필요해요. Bon씨가 아주 친절하게 맞아주셔서 감사했어요.

    We spent valentines weekend at this hotel and I can say we had a blast. We loved the that they had a sauna/gym/pool. This hotel is a close walk to some amazing restuarants and night life places. Big shout out to Hamza the bellboy. He is a super friendly guy and helped us out alot.

    Y el señor del caunter creo es supervisor habla un poco español,muy amable y atento. Solo en la mañana en la hora del buffet fuy por 2platillos.el cosina un señor mayor poniendo la comida fue muy amable y cortes con tu buen provecho! Y cuando Hiba a subir según tenía que pagarlo cuando expedia decía desayuno incluido luego voy a pagarlo para llevar que no podía llevarlo tampoco. Si tú compras algo tu haces lo que gustes te lo llevas.Que no que tenía que comerlo allí sentada.Creo que en esos méritos estaba mal una señora y un señor.     We were very happy overall with our stay. The hotel was clean, room was clean, food and our server were amazing. Views were phenomenal. Pool and fitness were also nice. Location was nice. Only things, which are minor IMO, 2 towels were dirty/stained which they brought new towels right away and our coffees were made by two different baristas on differnt mornings which was noticeable. We are already planning our return trip to the city and plan on staying there again.

    Everything was great. From arriving to leaving. The only one issue was, we had to lower our loud music. Didnt think our room neighbors would hear it. But they did. After that we were cautious even with the tv. That Downtown Chicago view never disappoints. Loved that we had a corner room. It just doubled the view. The staff at the main lobby, were also great. Loved the chicken wings. Pool area was big and cleaned. Glad we got to have a nice dip. All in all my wife and I really enjoyed celebrating our 20th anniversary.

    Some may find this hotel a little "old school", but it's dependable, clean, efficient, and well located. There are so many reviews of hotels in the downtown area that are all over the place...we went back here in 2025 after staying there in 2016, and they were on top of everything. Room could have been a tiny bit bigger, but hey, it's downtown Chicago...view was nice, room was clean and quiet, restaurant/bar area was clean and breakfast buffet was nice, and check in/out was simple. YMMV, but for *our* mileage, we'll always stay here when were in DT Chicago.

    The hotel was clean, well taken care of, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. The shower had excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water. The parking was convenient across the street, easy to get in and out, and less expensive than others in the area. The view of the river and surrounding buildings from the 15th floor lobby and our hotel were both very nice. We did not use the pool or gym, but they both looked great.

    Exceptional staff, spotless room, and the most comfortable king sized bed I have ever slept on...I am not even exaggerating. Slept solidly because of how PERFECT the msttress was. The hotel is gorgeous with a heated pool, workout room, living room area to hang out, decent sized, little market compared to most hotels, and a location close enough to the parking garage that you don't need to use valet. Also, ordered DoorDash and had no issue with the person locating the hotel.

    The fan in the room could not be turned off. Made loud noise and we were not able to sleep well. The water took almost 5 minutes to heat and did not last very long. we did not have breakfast here, but the breakfast area looked really nice and the food smelled delicious. staff, we are very friendly and eager to help.

    Room was very clean and the beds were COMFY! It was quiet and the atmosphere was very nice. Loved the big open lobby to hang out in and restaurant/bar. The breakfast was good but was the same exact food all four days we were there, same potatoes, same waffles, same bacon. Also if the third person wanted to eat it was $26 and I have never eaten $26 worth of breakfast food in my life! You can use the 8 (four days) included tickets any way you like though. The staff was very friendly... shout out to older gentleman at the bar, busboy, and desk staff who work very hard and went above and beyond.

    I have stayed in many locations on the south states and all the employees have better attitude than this location. Maybe because we arrived on a holiday but that is no excuse for that. Main issues with attitude were the front desk. Restaurant staff was the best customer service that’s why I will give this location a 3 and not a 1. Food is also great.

    We got into town and went to check in and couldn't find anyone at the counter, finally I found someone cleaning the floors and the clerk was sitting on the couch. She told me I would have to wait to check in 20 min as she was doing a night audit and she was on lunch. While we were waiting she proceeds to talk to the woman at the store area talking about other guests and what they were buying. She was not professional at all. The breakfast staff was very friendly. Rooms were okay. The hotel was kind of oddly situated we had to go in the building walk to one set of elevators upto the 15th floor and then across the floor to the other set of elevators and up to our floor. This was a bit inconvenient. I would not stay here again. Breakfast buffet was $26 per person. Breakfast was just okay.

    Room- the TV didn't work. We had to keep calling for someone to come look at it. The pool was supposed to be heated but the maintenance man told us the heater was broke so the pool was ice cold.     There was a 24 hour market in the hotel for sandwiches or snacks. Lots of elevators and parking garage is also available if needed. there are many parking lots in walking distance that are cheaper. I would highly recommend this hotel.

    Overall had a great experience! The room was clean and spacious and had a great view. My only note would be the set up of the rooms/lobby concept. It is all open, meaning you can hear absolutely everything coming from the bar area. There was a football game and the entire bar was screaming and you can hear it loud and clear as day in your room at night. The walls are just pretty paper thin, could also hear music loud and clear from someone in the room next to us. But otherwise we enjoyed our stay!

    The heating system was full of dust and lord knows what else. We were afraid to even turn up the heat. We didn't want to breathe in what it would have pushed out into the air. It also was falling apart on one side of the room. The real kicker was the lagging TV. We couldn't watch anything during our entire stay. I was so annoyed.

    The room was fine but a bit worn. Water damage near tub, dinged lampshade. There was a loud horn sound each morning caused by pipes which woke us up. The housekeeping took forever when we asked for more towels. The food was good but the service seemed disorganized. I like the overall stay though. The shower was terrible and no water pressure. Very convenient for business as it is attached to the Merchandise Mart. You are netter off having breakfast at the billygoat located under the merch mart.

    Unwelcoming front desk personnel during check in, brought my family into the city for a special night out and did not receive a warm reception. The television only works if connected to AirPlay on a separate device (which we don’t have), there are no main channels. WiFi is only available on an unsecured network so this could not be used. The entire wing of this floor and windows are poorly insulated, a very cold draft is present in the room. Ordered door dash and did not receive a notification from the reception desk that a delivery had been received. None of the call buttons on the phone are programmed, pressing ‘0’ gets you to the general voicemail box. Not worth $250, will not be staying here again.

However, we did ultimately choose this hotel for the “heated swimming pool” per our kids input. The pool and pool area were both freezing and we were not able to enjoy this.     We originally booked a room for Saturday but added Friday night as well due to the incoming snowstorm. When we checked in, we hoped the two nights could be combined so we could remain in the same room for the duration of our stay. Unfortunately, this did not happen, creating unnecessary inconvenience. We also dealt with a leaky sink pipe, which resulted in us having to move rooms three different times. At one point, we were placed in a smaller room, and the staff member assisting with the room change appeared inconvenienced and unwilling to help us secure a comparable room. Only after multiple moves were we finally placed in a room similar to what we originally booked. While we were offered a $30 refund, we feel this did not adequately reflect the amount of disruption, inconvenience, and time lost during our stay. Given the repeated room changes, the downgrade, and the overall inconvenience, we believe a more appropriate resolution should have been offered. Additionally, the customer service at the concierge desk was disappointing. Several staff members were not polite, and the woman who checked me out on Sunday was especially rude and unfriendly. Her attitude left a very negative final impression on our stay. Overall, the repeated room issues, lack of helpfulness, and poor customer service made our stay far less enjoyable than expected.

My only complaint would be the navigation of the building. It was a little annoying having to go up one elevator and across a lobby to another elevator just to get to my room. Overall I would recommend it if you want to be in that area.

    The room was decently clean. There were a couple of spots on the carpet where there are small debris. Bathroom was clean overall. The bed sheets are clean as well. However, the mattress itself had a big brown stain on one of the corner of it. We didn’t care much for that stain though since the bed sheets are clean. We had the view of the river and it was really good. For the price range that we paid, I would recommend other people to stay here.

    The room was okay. It advertised that the beds were queen beds but they were not. I talked to the front desk and they told me that all of the “queen” beds were that size. They are in fact twin full size beds. Also, if you are advertising for four people make sure that there are enough items for four people ie towels and bathrooms

    The first room I was assigned had issues. The phone did not work, and the front desk agent rented the room to me despite Tay Tay being on a list preventing it from being rented out because of the issues the flu had when I got to the room two maintenance persons were in the room trying to fix the phone, they left when I got to the room and said that they would come back later, they never did. Because it is colder in Chicago currently we turned on the heat only for an awful smell to suffocate in the room, and we had liquid droopy from the AC/heater unit onto our luggage and shoes. Once we spoke to the front desk they relocated us, and then we had to ask them to come come to the room and fix the water. The maintenance guy who came to fix the hot water issue was efficient and tried really hard to be as quick as possible resulting in our concern, however this was the second room and yet another major issue. It took the tech at least 45 minutes to fix the hot water, causing us to be late to a wedding rehearsal dinner, which is really important. There was a very nice bell hop on the 15th floor, but he did not follow through on several things that we requested. The location is great, but parking is across the street, and when you go inside the hotel you’re the first floor, you didn’t have to take an elevator to the 15th floor where the actual lobby is. And then you have to take another elevator up to your room. Imagine doing all of that when you need to go run to your car.

    Hotel staff was nice overall. The bed was comfy. My only two icks considering the price was the shower was lukewarm at best and I felt the towels had stains.     For the price of the hotel our toilet didnt even work and the the person down stairs was rude when we reported it. We eventually did get it fixed but it was a bit of a hassle. Plus the wallpaper in the bathroom was falling apart. I just expected more for the price. The room view and hotel location was great though. The hotel lobby bar/restaurant was nice but you couldnt turn the bar tv to the game. That frustrated alot of poeple.

    We didn’t know what to expect from a Holiday Inn in a tower and were pleasantly surprised. The building — hotel actually starts on the 15th floor — is like new and was very clean. The staff was universally friendly. The lobby floor has a grab-and-go food option available 24 hours and a nontraditional bar and restaurant with seating more like a hotel lobby than a restaurant. There’s a huge TV screen, but it doesn’t dominate the space. We checked out the pool but didn’t get a chance to swim. Other people’s kids seemed to love it, though. Our room was smallish but well-appointed with a quite-wondeful bed. Location on the river handy to all kinds of restaurants. Recommend if you want something downtown.

    I thought it was odd that we could not get plates for our room to eat the deep dosh pizza that we had ordered for delivery the evening of 10/17. Then on 10/18 for breakfast they ran out of clean plates at the buffet and people had to wait about 10 minutes as the crowd grew. Front desk staff on level one was great though, as was the cleaning crew and security.

    Great place in the city. Hotel starts on the 15th floor. Breakfast buffet was $26 but good options, even vegan. There is a 24 market but it’s mostly small snacks and limited pastries, not really a place to grab something for a breakfast. No yogurt, etc. My room on floor 16 was great. My only complaint was the bathroom smelled really bad like smelly old socks the entire time. Didn’t see what was causing it. Everything else was great.

    The room was falling apart. Broken bath tub plug, broken towel rod that fell apart when we grabbed a towel, the outlets were so loose our chargers and appliances wouldn't even stay plugged in and the toilet was almost impossible to flush you had to hold it down extremely long and even then it hardly worked, and the pillows were very uncomfortable. Location was good and friendly staff but for the price, I would never stay here again with how poor everything in the room was.

    The location was excellent. Close to lots of restaurants and boat tour's. Shopping is all within walking distance. Rooms are quite spacious and beds are quite comfortable.     The sky view was absolutely amazing! The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and I really enjoyed the drinks at the bar.     The bar and breakfast buffet were nice. Breakfast was a full breakfast with vegan options. We didn’t have time to use the pool & sauna, but my daughter said the pool looked nice. Klaou checked us in and assisted us to the elevators. The gentleman on the 15th floor was nice, even getting our elevators for us on our way out. Our view was magnificent! I think we had room 1719. We were there for my brother’s wedding at Merchandise Mart, which was next door. The river walk is a short walk away (if you have good knees). Also close to the world’s largest Starbucks (by uber, not walking). So my daughter was able to take this off of her bucket list, as I was also able to check off Taste of Chicago. The only negative are the super low, small toilets and the fact that there was no cable tv the first few hours after check in.

    Our car was towed in their parking garage because we parked in a restricted area. Cost us over $300 to retrieve it. The front desk didn't warn us about the potential for being towed and management did not try to accommodate us in any way after the incident. It was also very hard to get a response from them when we tried to contact them about the situation. It ruined our stay.

    This hotel is a solid place to stay. It doesn’t have all the extra service supports you’d find at a Michigan Avenue luxury hotel but then again you won’t pay those prices either. It’s clean, convenient, located on the river- easy access to the River Walk. About a 1.2 mile walk to Michigan Avenue. Quiet, comfortable sleeping. Some rooms require a switch in elevators but elevators are fast.

    I made multiple complaints regarding the service. I had a hard time getting my room cleaned and getting towels. Lina the waitress at the restaurant on the 15th floor was rude and the food wasn’t hot nor cooked all the way through. The hospitality manager hung up on me. Terrible experience the view from my room was bad and our door faced the restaurant so it was so noisy. I plan on leaving a bad review on TikTok

    Parking was reasonable and parking garage was right across the street. We requested a city view room and our room had a wall that took up part of the window so we didn't get a full view of the city. We had the breakfast buffet which was very convenient and reasonable. Will probably consider staying here again due to the breakfast and dinner buffet options.

    Safe and convenient location, which was important to me. Beautiful restaurant and court yard to lounge in. No room service though 2 restaurants open on varied hours and grocery store. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
