Reviews
The hotel staff is consistently praised for their friendliness and helpfulness. However, the cleanliness and condition of the rooms are frequently criticized, with guests reporting issues such as dirty floors, unclean bathrooms, and broken or malfunctioning appliances. The hotel is under renovation, which may account for some of the issues with room quality.

Property inside is dated. Room had a non working tv; no clock and scratchy blanket and sheets. The front desk person was helpful with my complaint about the tv but I still did not find my overnight stay to be comfortable. I would not recommend as there are many other choices in this area.
- 5/5
The staff were extremely kind, helpful and willing to go above and beyond to accommodate us. They welcomed us warmly upon arrival. They also allowed us to check in a little early and one staff rode the elevator up with us to show us how to get to the room. Quite refreshing for us who are in our senior years and have not adapted so well to today's ever changing technology. I wll highly recommend to all my friends and family members!
- 5/5
Staff was very helpful and friendly. Room was very clean and larger than I expected. I would stay again . Very close to restaurants and stores
- 3/5
The bed was very uncomfortable and there is no noise reduction in the roo. You can hear everything that was occurring in the hallway. There were parties of individuals running up and down the hallway, yelling, and slamming doors from 2-3a and we could hear everything as if they were in the room with us.
- 3.5/5
Handicap rooms are too far from elevators! Should be the closest one to elevators and if anything on first floor! Our tv didn’t work properly when we arrived, but the clerk quickly came and fixed it; however it quit working again before we left. Also the drawer in the kitchen was broken so you had to be careful when getting a utensil out!
- 4/5
Please be sure the small little cream for coffee is always full for your guests.
- 5/5
Great Staff!! Ms. Penny her Assistant were the best! Helpful and courteous and very very nice. Will stay again and will recommend. Wish there was a cheap broom to sweep the kitchen. But 5Stars all the way do I give it. A win win for any guest
- 4/5
Everything was alright. The first few days we had a few issues that were addressed when it occurred.
- 2.5/5
First floor room was damp and muggy. All tiled floors which were poorly installed and dim lighting in room. Reserved two rooms and upon arrival, one room on 4th floor and one on 1st floor which separated the family even though we arrived at 6pm.

Room was equipped with amenities

The front desk gal Robin, went way out of her way to find me the best room!!!
- 5/5
The service was awesome! We had a quiet and comfortable stay.
- 4/5
Decent room. Rough around the edges but was okay for the night.

Excellent stay no issues inviting staff clean rooms

This property is under renovation so beware everything is NOT complete. We stayed in a Studio. The first unit we were given was not up to standards. However, the front desk attendant Tracy was VERY accommodating. She explained the situation and apologized. She did find us a better room(although it wasn’t completely finished with renovations either) I did get to see a 1 bedroom unit that my girlfriend was staying in and it was very nice. I believe within the next 6 months this property will be very nice. I could see there are efforts being made and again Tracy was very helpful!

Staff were great and were most helpful.
- 4/5

The room was a good size. Room has a stove, dishwasher, utensils, over the range microwave and full size refrigerator.

Reasonable rate. Nice kitchenette.
- 5/5
The shower leaked. The room was large and the kitchen had everything we needed.

Dishwasher had dirty dishes left in it. Dog food in suite on the floor of the room and restroom Dog hair everywhere. Garbage disposal sinks and needs to be drained it kept loud foul odor all during stay at hotel. Grass had not be cutting it appeared as it was over a month. Last day of stay the lawn got cut and maintenance from the lawn cutting service left heavy grass on vehicles including mines. Staff workers at front desk where very friendly and responsive.
- 0.5/5
The bathroom stool ran off and on all night The bathroom tub had not been cleaned the towels and wash cloths were disgusting and last but not least the Television did not work to receive stationed channels.
- 5/5
I give this hotel an overall 4.5. Excellent service, there was problem with my booking, they called right way and let me know that they would accommodate me. I booked a King Suite w private bed and pull out. They didn’t have a room so the hotel was able to give me another room at no charge. Rooms were clean and the kitchenette is a plus. Two down sides: rust and mold in the ceiling of the bath. It wasn’t a huge deal because it can happen. I’d stay again.
- 2.5/5
The rooms were clean, but not as clean as they could have been. The room our grandkids had with their dog had a strong odorx possibly from previous animals.
- 3/5
The lobby are gave us the feeling of a cheap hotel
- 5/5
Couldn't turn off the ice maker in the refrigerator.
- 4/5
More selection in Pantry would be nice.

Now the not so good: floors were dirty in room and hallway, bed wasn't completely made, no remote, dishes still in dishwasher, only one towel for 2 people for 2 days, phone didn’t work, had to program tv to get it to work.
- 2/5
-The 3rd floor, while there was a paper saying 'no pets on the 3rd and 4th floor' smelled of musty wet dog -My room had only 1 bath towel and the sink had toothpaste residue and shaving trimmings in the sink -Hotel was overbooked lost my reservation
- 5/5
Staff friendly and go above and beyond to insure patron comfort. Clean and comfortable. Well kept and nicely decorated. Will definitely stay again when in town
- 3/5
Requested a handicapped room! Was given a room on 4th floor with the elevator on the opposite end! At check-in was asked for an additional $50.00 deposit for insidentials, which I haven't seen a record of this añywhere! The TV was a challenge, because th
- 4/5
Short one night trip
- 3/5
The tv in the living room didn't work. They did offer a discount for that though. The lady at the front desk on night shift was the best i have ever met. Name was maybe Irena?
- 5/5
Everything was great but the beds were very uncomfortable.
- 4/5
Stained bedcover
- 2/5
The hotel room was very dated and everything was sticky. It had a smell the second we walked in. The room wasn’t prepared with linens so we had to wait for them at 1am when we arrived. We couldn’t wait to leave. Service was nice though.
- 4/5
Staff was super friendly. Loved that they had free laundry machines available. Unfortunately, cleanliness and maintenance were a little lacking. There was a lampshade that kept falling off and my kids kept finding trash from prior guests. Hallway on level two definitely smelled like they were fighting the smell of someone smoking weed
- 1/5
Showed up with a reservation already paid for and they had no room for me! It was 9:00pm and the town was sold out!
- 0.5/5
The staff. That¿s the biggest problem.
- 1/5
The front desk was nice, but when I got off the elevator the hallway was dirty. Then when I got to my room the door was opened already. Then I had to use the bathroom and it wasn't clean the toilet and tub had dirt and hair on them.
- 4/5
It was a nice place to stay but wouldn't stay again. They had pipes leaking in the lobby and coffee room that were leaking the whole 5 nights we stayed. People were very friendly
- 2/5
When we entered our room, it had an unpleasant smell and the floor was sticky. The refrigerator in our room sounded like is was about to take off. Tried to drown out that noise with the fan, and both noises together only made it worse. There were also cobwebs in the corners of the room. I’m very surprised that this hotel has such overall good ratings. I would not recommend a Candlewood after this.
- 3/5
Left over mac n cheese in fridge and clothing in drawer. wasn't vacuumed either and the TV didn't work
- 4/5
The staff was amazing. Courteous, professional on all levels. Everyone I encountered was great. The property is old and run down, needs updating. Room was adequate, bedding was clean. Bathroom was run down needs a refresh. The staff is doing the best they can with what they have to work with.
- 5/5
Very clean. Extremely comfortable bed. Good amenities, including a fitness center. Excellent access to the from the highway.
- 3/5
It was just ok. TV didn’t work had to go to desk to get it fixed. No tp holder. No shampoo. Overall just ok. Won’t spend the extra money again.
- 3/5
The hotel itself was nice but I doubt I¿ll go back . I didn¿t get the room I reserve
- 1/5
At 8pm check-in, My suite was not clean and I was not able to check in they called the general manager and I was told the manager said I can down grade and get what is available and that’s it!!! I went to Home suites across the street and they gave me the best service plus a discount without any reservation. All because my experience with Candlewood I will never use them again!
- 2/5
When we checked in at 3pm our room wasnt ready, we had no towels, no shower curtain, dirty laundry laying in the hallway, and the door was left open
- 3/5
Dingy and old. Peeling paint, sagging shower curtain rod, etc. Beds weren't great.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel.
- 5/5
Great hotel why stay there
- 5/5
I liked the room itself with the kitchenette. I did not like that we were kind of back behind everything
- 5/5
Just a stop overnight with a dog.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and Hotel was very clean. Will definitely stay again when in the area.
- 2/5
We arrived around 11:30pm, front desk employee was super friendly. Unfortunately, they only showed us as having 1 room when we booked 2. After showing her my confirmation, she quickly found us a second room. The room itself was not good, doors were filthy, chair and couch had visible stains, bathroom doors and drawers hanging on loose hinges, etc. The biggest issue was the enormous clump of hair in one of the bathroom drawers! Had it not been midnight by then I would have requested a refund and went somewhere else!!! Our second room didn’t have sheets or blankets for the sofa bed, it had no bath towels and no shower curtain. I’m informed the nice front desk lady who promptly offered me points but I declined. I would not recommend this hotel
- 1/5
I reserved two rooms with two beds in each as I have a large family. When I arrived the hostess said I only had one room until I showed her my reservation. There was a problem with the credit card machine and it would not process my $50 deposit for incidentals on the second room. While trying to figure out what was wrong my family went to the room that we did check in to. They returned to the front desk because the room was destroyed. There were no bed sheets or blankets and there was trash all over the room. The hostess gave us the key to our other room instead. Meanwhile she could not get the fee to process after nearly an hour on the phone with my bank. The hostess was unwilling to let me check in to a second room. We ended up sleeping on the floor because she said there were no extra cots, blankets or pillows. I was extremely disappointed with the service. I stay with this chain of hotels on a regular basis and this has never happened before. I hope it won’t happen again. I also hope that I do not get charged for the second room.
- 4/5
I like the property and staff, however all of us had trouble with our keycards more than once
- 5/5
Well equipped kitchen, clean, comfortable
- 5/5
Check in lady was very kind and quick with getting us checked in. Room was very spacious and appeared very clean. It was a great one night stop.
- 4/5
Staff was excellent and the manager handled a charge on my card in a swift manner. Housekeeping staff were friendly and took care of what I needed. Room was pretty clean and comfortable. I was disappointed on the litter making the property look unkempt. Also, dog poop was all over the pet area. The laundryroom is free to guests, but the dryers may need to be cleaned, as it took over 2 hours to dry my clothes. Overall, this is a good place to stay.
- 1.5/5
Heater, shower, tv didn't work well. Room was not cleaned well. Stove top didn't work either. Never stay candlewood suite again.
- 5/5
The hotel was nice clean the front desk was great. They let me check in early.
- 1/5
The people that stay here and leave positive reviews must all be smokers. The first room I tried smelled like a bar.I moved to another room and it still smelled like cigarettes. My first and last time at this place. My allergies were horrible the next day.Do not stay here unless you’re a smoker.Horrible!
- 5/5
Mike away. Great location if staying in Clarksville. I will stay here again on my next visit.
- 5/5
The room itself was great! Soft, comfy bed, big bathroom and the amenities were great as well.
- 4/5
We’ll at all.
- 5/5
The staffing were very friendly.
- 3/5
Bad: lobby smelled like a wet dog. Design of the renovation was not great. Cannot open drawer due to chair squeezed next to it. No sheets or blanket for the sofa coach. No extra towels. Shower down quick enough, so standing in water. Slow check in supposedly due to slow computer.
- 5/5
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
- 4/5
One other note: there was some evidence that there had been some leaking above the shower. This hotel probably could use some refurb/update.
- 4/5
The greeting/checking staff was friendly, quick and caring.
- 4/5
Nice, clean and quiet rooms.
- 5/5
Nice very clean
- 2/5
Rooms smelled.
- 2/5
The images and online review made this hotel look promising. However, this hotel was not clean. Our room smelled stagnant and musty. The entire vinyl floor in the kitchenette was extremely sticky. When we pulled out the sleeper sofa, the mattress protector was FILTHY. Stains were everywhere, including some dried blood. Underneath the couch, you could find old food and random items. It obviously had not been cleaned. The walls had been drawn on and the walls/doors were also filthy. The main bed was comfy though. We were very disappointed and spent nearly $200 on this room due to it being a weekend. NOT worth the price.
- 2/5
The hotel was musky and had a “dirty” feeling. It was the only place available for the evening and was almost $200 per night. Definitely not worth that, as all the higher end places were priced at that. This should be priced closer to an Econo Lodge or Red Roof.
- 5/5
Good
- 3/5
Our front desk person was very friendly and nice, but in general...this motel is just average. Not a 9-out-of-10. General cleanliness is average. A pair of dirty black socks was still in our bathroom, which raises the question of whether housekeeping is paying enough attention to details. Parking is well-lit, in this location which is a little out-of-the way, and that's good. But in general, this motel is not really worth $135+tax, for this level of service (no breakfast), cleanliness (middling). We like Clarksville as a midway point between home and our winter vacation spot, but we will probably be looking for a different hotel for our overnight stop.
- 3/5
Hallways wear very dirty, garage cans wear overflowing. Room was was ok. Couch was very stained.
- 4/5
Very clean. Will stay again
- 2/5
I liked there coffe i was dissatisfied when first got there she was not very helpful on directed me to my room once got to my floor it smelled like burned food very long time the trash we had take our sekf by stairway was over filled all on carpet i had 2 rooms than breaking bottle and loud music for 3/4 hours my brother ran over beer bottle with his brand new car the lady at desk said she didnt have a brrom and she would tske care of it so we used our feet to sweep it up next day i get a call from desk saying it a complaint on my little dog i had just left the room the cleaning lady was next door of course my dog going to bark let me remind you its a pet friendly hotel oh and not to mention iam on 3rd floor and have c o p d i have problems with legs and i moved chair they had big dent hiding and my remote for tv didnt work they change battery and still didnt work that bout does it not to mention i filmed some ther partying i wont go ther again
- 3/5
Property needs renovations. Very tired and worn out.
- 2/5
Property is dated. Room had not been properly cleaned. Some kind of black sticky dirt on floor in kitchen area. Smell of previous cooking. TV old. No way to stream video. Toilet made loud noise when filling tank after flush. Room attendant could not have missed this problem when cleaning bathroom suggesting bathroom toilet may not have been cleaned. Would not stay here again. Much better options nearby.
- 5/5
This hotel was nicer than I had expected. Room was extremely clean and had a small kitchenette which i had not expected. Would definitely recommend staying here if staying in the vicinity. It is walking distance to Waffle House, Panda Express, McDonald's, Shoney's, Burger King, Taco Bell, & Wal-Mart.
- 4/5
The Candlewood was in a very convenient location. The check in was easy. We felt that the room was a little pricey for the small bed and limited amenities. It also was a hotel that allowed pet and smelled like dogs in the lobby.
- 4/5
However; the showers pressure was wonderful and invigorating.
- 2/5
They came 2 more times between 830am-10am. After a complaint to the front desk and request for compensation for the rude disruptions-The manage never returned my call.
- 5/5
Staff was excellent!
- 3/5
Ok stay! Would not stay at this location again!
- 4/5
the room was not sound proof ,we heard people coughing in the next room. tv playing after midnight , steps in the floor above us ,very annoying noises that made sleeping difficult
- 4/5
The facilities were older and needed updating but the suites were clean and provided a complete kitchen and eating space. Their mini market was well stocked with numerous choices to eat meals in house. The beds were extremely comfortable, rooms were fairly sound proof, and plenty of outside area to walk our pet. Our stay was very relaxing.
- 5/5
Blower that blows into bedroom so if you like to sleep cold this is not the room to get.
- 5/5
Everything was perfect
- 5/5
It was a very clean comfortable hotel, it felt like a 5 star hotel
- 5/5
This has been one of the cleanest hotels I have stayed at , the service was also amazing . Our AC wasn’t working. Called front desk, they came up immediately and fixed it.. I would highly recommend this hotel.
- 3/5
The common areas of the hotel were dirty and were not cleaned during our 3-day stay. Trash was overflowing in the stairwell. Mattress was old and broken down... room 312 by the window. No breakfast, no lotion in the room, not a good deal.
- 5/5
- 3/5
The room was nice but I didn't feel clean. The refrigerator had about a half inch of dust and dirt on top of it. The table top I assume what was suppose to be the desk had spots that looked like milk on them that I wiped off. The TV is entirely too small for the room and the remote work horribly with the TV. You had to stand practically right in front of it for it to work.
- 4/5
The rooms were very clean, I just wish the bed was in the middle of room. It was against the wall and i had to climb over to get off bed. There wasnt any walk space between bed and wall
- 2/5
Very disappointed that I wasn’t told I would be stuck on a floor full of barking dogs and screaming kids.
- 5/5
Convenient to the building. Good lighting especially in the evening hours.
- 5/5
No complaints at all. Friendly and efficient front desk. Easy to check in and out. Good kitchen facilities although cutlery a bit lacking. Would return
- 4/5
The hotel is nothing to write jome about but they admit that- it is functional and serves its purpose
- 5/5
Great location!! Great kitchenette! Our 1st night, our bed was to soft for us, Amy easily moved us to another room for the ready of our stay!! She was very helpful and friendly!!
- 5/5
Came to pick up our puppy in nearby Adams and stayed overnight. Front desk friendly and very responsive to questions and requests. Everything great!
- 3/5
Remote control did not work properly, some bottons did not work. AC was very noisy
- 3/5
It was ok. There is no breakfast. They only clean if you stay over seven days and if you want clean towels you have to take to front desk to replace them. I saw some people not wearing masks. Customers and staff. Very small workout room.
- 5/5
Everything was clean!! Great overnight stay
- 5/5
Walmart close Clean and comfortable
- 5/5
everything was great! Comfort, accessibility, price!!!!
- 5/5
Very nice & clean, bed was very comfortable, would stay there again. Close to a lot of different restaurants to choose from.
- 3/5
There are better hotel choices at this location than Candlewood Suites.
- 4/5
Stay was fine. Property is good. Property did not disclose cost of a pet staying $75 for one night. I feel this is a large cost for a dog. Be aware of the pet fee.
- 5/5
Amazing time. I will definitely stay there again
- 5/5
There is absolutely nothing I did not like. This is the 3rd time my wife and I have stayed here and all three times have been great. I love the friendly service you get from the minute you check in. I also love the space you get in the rooms, you can get very comfortable!
