Staff were very kind. Friendly atmosphere. Very clean. Spacious rooms. Delicious breakfast with variety.

The stay is always the best when we come to town. Great area for walking. Quiet neighborhood. The staff is incredible. From the greetings of Eric ,Kaneshia and Destiny daily were enough to know that they are great workers and enjoy the job. They all went above and beyond for our daughter’s 11th birthday.

It was a great stay.

The hotel is located in the best area for walking around and only a block from USC campus. We parked at their free parking lot and walked everywhere we needed to go. Small breakfast buffet style in the morning was a great plus before hitting the road again.
- 4/5
The room as the bright spot of the stay, other than the bathroom being small and the shower surround rusty and needing attention. The hallways were hot and stuffy, the internet would not connect and front desk sent me next door to the other Hilton property to ask them for a code. The room door didn’t close properly and great effort was needed to make sure it closed - I noticed other doors were not fully closed either. Breakfast was not hot or well maintained. Overall, this property is not up to par with other Home2 buildings.

Check in staff were great. Friendly and efficient. The breakfast team was also great. Very accommodating to my late arrival which I very much appreciated. Couch in room had a tear in it. Not a big deal.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Home2 Suites. But I will say I don't travel much so It was disappointing to hear they didnt have any rooms available at check in time. I automatically thought they meant they overbooked and Id have to find somewhere else to stay but after contacting EXPEDIA and they contacted the property they informed me the room just wasn't clean yet. Maybe if they just said that instead of we dont have a room I wouldn't have gotten so frantic. Room was clean, I did have to pay additional parking fee per night, and the area is very safe with not much traffic .

The hotel was just a 10 minute walk from the concert hall. Its convenient for walking if you like walking. The city hall/government center is about a 10 minute walk. It's a whole Pavillion you can stroll. Lots of restaurants within a 10 minute drive. The staff was friendly and professional. I elected to checkin electronically in order to skip the line. However I still spent 40 minutes waiting in line to check in because it didnt work. Then my electronic key didnt work the entire time I was there. Thats one of the reasons I choose this hotel as a Hilton honors member. Its so much more convenient to not have to keep up with a room key. When my husband and I returned at night there was no parking. When we finally got ahold of hotel staff they informed us there was an overflow parking area. This was fine but that would have been nice to know before circling the lot 3 times. The breakfast was severely lacking. Far fewer options then the majority of other home2suites I've stayed at. Wasn't horrible but not at the standard I was accustomed to. Also someone's animal pooped on the exit ramp and it was there for at least 2 hrs. People had to try their best to avoid it.

Room was clean, smelled like fried foods or something. Breakfast was laughable
- 5/5
Wish the pool was heated and the food menu had more choices but was a fun time. Staff were friendly
- 2/5
I was disappointed in my room. There was mildew on my shower curtain, black hair on the bathroom floor, and the tub drain slowly drained the water out.
- 4/5
Room was not cleaned well. Sugar all over kitchen counter and long hairs all over floor. Toilet did not flush well
- 4/5
Silverware needs to be replaced. No forks. No saucers.
- 3/5
My stay was ok. I had to call to the desk as the bathroom had no faucet and the door did not close properly. Breakfast was fair, not great
- 4/5
Having two separate properties in one building caused confusion re breakfast and check-in/check-out
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 2/5
The room was dirty. I was supposed to check in at 3 o’clock. I didn’t check into my room till about 3:30 4 o’clock the reason because it’s because the room was not vacant ready. Their room was rushed at the bathroom was dirty. The tub was dirty. I called downstairs the front desk and it took them almost 2 hours to bring me new sheets. This was very heartbreaking to see because I’m not from South Carolina. I’m from Washington DC and I was looking for the southern hospitality. I asked to speak to a manager multiple times and was told that the manager is not available he or she went home for the day. I will never seen this Hotel again.
- 4/5
Breakfast was bare due to the college baseball team hitting it at same time
- 5/5
I like the hotel.
- 4/5
Our room was not cleaned/no fresh towels after our first two nights but when we advised the housekeeper, she was very quick to give us new towels and empty our garbages.
- 1/5
I could not check into my room until 7:30pm. No rooms were ready and I had to sit in the lobby and wait until after 7:30pm to check in. The rooms were not clean. I stayed 3 nights and never had room service come at all. I had to go to them to get clean towels and wash cloths. There was never any staff at the front desk. Had to go to the other side of the hotel every time we needed something
- 3/5
Was told upon check-in that there was no hot water
- 5/5

Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly, courteous and helpful.
- 1/5
We arrived around 5pm, check-in online before arrival. When checked in at the front desk to get physical keys and we were assigned a room that people were already in. After walking in on people, we went downstairs and ended up waiting over an hour to be reassigned. Then we were placed in a disability room (we purchased a king suite). The toilet was clogged and the blinds didn’t work well. Check out was at 11 the next morning, but around 9:45 am we had house keeping come into our room while we were still in bed. The front desk was so backed up when we left we couldn’t buy waters for the road. Overall, this was the worst Hilton stay I’ve ever experienced.
- 3/5
Maybe the hotel was slammed at the last minute and miscalculated the need for staff but overall, it was disappointing.
- 1/5
Dirty rooms, people trying to enter my room late at night, etc. I hope to call Expedia to discuss th refund the hotel tried to give me.
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful .
- 4/5
Room was clean, space and complimentary waters and popcorn were given during check in which was a nice touch. Area was nice but did have a few homeless people nearby which is expected in downtown but it did not affect my stay. Breakfast was as expected. Overall it was a good stay and the indoor pool was convenient during colder stays.

Everything was great 👍
- 5/5
The rooms were very spacious, comfortable, and clean.
- 2/5
Cleanliness of room was very bad. The tiled entryway/kitchenette area was sticky and slippery. Wiped the floor with a bath towel which revealed that the floor was very dirty. Our friend had a full bag of stinky garbage that had been left under the sink. I started to use the Keurig in the morning but water was standing. inside the reservoir with hair or lint floating in it. The room, had it been clean, was very nice despite one chair that was in pretty bad shape.

- 1/5
I tried mutltiple times to contact this hotel and every phone number and email has gone unanswered. My room had bed bugs and i was eaten alive and had to see the doctor on my return trip home. No response from hotel
- 2/5

would have like better breakfast options
- 1/5
This is horribly maintained Hilton Home2Suites. Check in staff will not communicate anything including right breakfast time. Had maintenance call twice at front desk for no water in basin and never got maintenance. WiFi was out for 2 days and front desk was trying to convince me it was weather related. Parking is paid even though you park 2 blocks out, and this is not listed in Expedia. Breakfast is a joke and not worth staying at this hotel. Never am I staying at this one
- 3/5
charged $13/day for parking and no room keys so we were told to head up to our rooms and maintenance would meet us there to let us in. We waited 25 minutes and no one showed. Had to go back down to checkin desk and ask when they were coming. Waited another 5-10 minutes and they finally showed up. Lady at checkin never apologized or offered anything for the inconvenience.
- 5/5
When I went to open the curtains in the morning, I stepped into the wet carpet around the AC unit. Otherwise the room is comfortable, clean and has everything you need to longer stay.
- 3/5
One of the main reasons I booked this hotel with access to a pool. And it was closed for maintenance during my entire state.
- 5/5
Great service by Darby and Bre.
- 3/5
The property was okay, What I didn't like is that the refrigerator was not working it was cold up top and the bottom was not maintenance came couldn't understand what I was saying didn't speak English and he said it was working fine I was very disappointed in my service
- 4/5
There was only one extra roll of bathroom tissue. I had to go down to the front desk to get more. There was not a desk chair or any hangers.
- 4/5
Nice hotel
- 4/5
The hotel is located in a great spot, the parking can filled up quick, especially if you leave later and night and come back. Not as big of a breakfast spread that other Home 2 suites offer. Only issue with our room was that the body wash and shampoo bottles attached in the shower were completely empty and needed to call to get new ones, other than that a great stay.
- 5/5
Great Location, safe and clean.
- 2/5
The person in the breakfast area was very kind and nice during our stay.
- 4/5
Parking can be a bit concerning with the dual hotels, fills up fast, but staff made concerns less of a factor when questioned about sfaety.
- 4/5
Very nice hotel and quiet

- 4/5
They had the free breakfast and a separate breakfast buffet to pay for. Neither were clearly marked so made for some confusion.

Friendly staff, good location, good breakfast - very comfortable stay.
- 4/5
Good trip to Columbia. Bed was comfortable and room had everything we needed. Coffee downstairs was delicious. Close to everything.
- 5/5
Clean room and friendly staff.
- 2/5
The shelving hadn’t been dusted in ages. There was a musty smell. Lampshades still had plastic wrap on them. Shower was dirty.
- 4/5
Great location to University, could have been more clean and pet smell in room.
- 3/5
My bedding was still dirty. The staff did work to make it right
- 5/5
We had a lovely stay.
- 5/5
The staff was great. They checked us in quickly and easily; they were accessible and helpful whenever we needed help or had a question.
- 5/5
Con: Parking lot was very full and had to park in tight spot between two vehicles (with a 2020 Ram 1500).
- 1/5
The worst shower I've ever used the pressure was so low. It took a long time to get hot water or the soap off. Worn out vinyl armrest on the one comfortable chair in the room. Sticky cabinets with a sink that drains so slow it would back up
- 5/5
Quiet and comfortable
- 1/5
Not well kept up, not clean enough, and no hot water during my entire stay… unacceptable
- 3/5
Staff was pleasant and location was pretty good. I wish more attention to details would have been provided. Breakfast was supposed to be available until 9 but both mornings I went down for just coffee around 8:30-8:45 and coffee had run out. When I asked for coffee I was told “that’s it for the day if we are out.” When I went to my room to make coffee the creamers provided were old, sour and chunky!!! Went to take a shower and BOTH shampoo and conditioner pups were empty. Went to shower second day and there was no hot water. None of this was “trip ruining” but just frustrating.
- 2/5
We told the front desk and they changed the sheets immediately. We also had to ask for more toilet paper because they left our room with only a few sheets on the roll. At 4am and at 6am a very loud alarm went off in our room and kept us awake. Upon telling the staff they did not seem surprised, and told us they would look into it. Pretty disappointed with this experience to say the least, wish we would have stayed elsewhere.
- 4/5
I liked the room and how you had a full kitchen set up and it was convenient to everything.
- 3/5
The AC was too big for the room . It was dangerous to pass through at night in the dark to go to the bathroom.
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, beds comfortable!!
- 2/5
we were put into a room that had not been cleaned. Once we were moved There wasn't any coffee but decafe, to few towels. The carpets were stained in the room and the hall way carpets were stained
- 3/5
Only 3 pillows on bed for couple
- 4/5
The location was excellent, room was clean and comfortable. Check in went well and the man at the desk was very helpful with dining suggestions. Breakfast was subpar and the lady taking care of the breakfast station was rude and disrespectful.

Nice enough to change my room, though it was a downgrade. I had to have everything decontaminated after the trip. NOT ONE WORD of apology or any compensation from the management of the hotel. AVOID THIS HOTEL.
- 3/5
Staff was very pleasant, but couldn't get them to freshen up our room or bring more towels after asking 4 times!
- 3/5
Asked for fresh wash clothes and towels at noon, 3 pm and 9 pm never received any Desk attendant 4/20 evening was watching a basketball game on his phone at a loud volume never turned it off when speaking to me unprofessional He was polite however and did provide some wash clothes and toilet paper Also had to pay to park in the hotel parking lot not a parking garage
- 5/5
The hotel for the most part was great, unfortunately we onlynhad ice cold water to shower. Noone was at the front desk or answered the phone to help us.
- 4/5
The staff was great. They gave us great recommendations for dinner while we were in town to see USC
- 4/5
Very nice hotel to stay. However, the pillows were not that good. I had a hard time to sleep well all night.
- 5/5
This hotel was within walking distance for dinning and entertainment
- 5/5
I loved staying at this hotel. We loved seeing the dogs and playing in the pool
- 3/5
The bathroom was dirty. There was a car in the parking lot at 12:45 am with an alarm going off and it took the staff more than an hour to do anything about it. It made it impossible to sleep.
- 1/5
We made reservations 4 months ahead of time and arrived only to find that the hotel had overbooked and our reservation was moved to a different hotel. We were not notified ahead time!!! We then check in to the new hotel only to discover our two queen bed room was a one king bed. We were traveling with our kids so we needed two beds. Plus the two queen bed room was more expensive. I went to the front desk to let them know we needed a new room only to be told that THEY were booked up and that’s all they had to offer. Again we made our reservation 4 MONTHS ahead of time. They were able to provide a roll away bed. I then went to request additional towels since we were now in a room for 2 people only to be told they only had 2 towels left IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL!!! Remember this is NOT THE HOTEL we had reservations, we were moved to a different hotel without being told ahead of time, then we get a room with 1 bed when we reserved a room with 2 beds since we were traveling with our kids. Then this new hotel is overbooked and can’t provide the type of room we reserved, then when we request additional towels they only had 2 LEFT IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL!!! Our hallway had dirty washcloths on the floor and trash. This is one of the WORST experiences.
- 3/5
The website says nothing about the pet fee of $75.
- 5/5
The staff here was wonderful; Yvette in particular. Whether I was coming or going, I was always greeted with a warm hello and a smile. The room was clean and the hotel is located in the middle of everything.
- 3/5
They were busy and sold out so no early check in for us. The room was clean mostly but looking around, bathroom walls needed washed. Little things were in need of repair. It was fine for one night. Many sirens on the street.
- 2/5
Check in was supposed to be 3 we couldn't check in till 6. Room was extremely hot when we got in it. They pnly had half a roll of toilet paper in room. No body wash in the container
- 2/5
Upon check in I was offered a room on the second floor that was dated and in need of repair. I then spoke with Dylan at the front desk, who should not speak to customers given his abrupt, condescending tone, about waiting until after 3pm when more rooms would be clean and ready, no problem. When I returned to the front desk at 6pm Maria quickly found a comfortable room on the 6th floor. I do like having the kitchen amenities and larger living space for a more home like feel after a long day from my business trip. The location was convenient and within walking distance to many things locally. The bathroom is clean, smaller but updated and could use a bit more water pressure. However, overall a comfortable stay for the price. Be aware they charge a daily parking fee that I was surprised by since the cars are not garaged and I don’t believe was disclosed on Expedia.
- 1/5
Check in was at 3:00 and my room wasn’t ready u too 5:10. They also make you pay 13.00 to park . The breakfast was terrible and everything was dry. For the amount of money I was very disappointed . They did not try and compensate me for the 5:10 check in time.
- 5/5
Nice hotel with kitchenette.
- 5/5
Check in was easy, room was spacious, parking was convenient. Centrally located. Would stay there again.
- 5/5
Good Hotel we would stay again.
- 1/5
Fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, and everyone had to be evacuated for no reason. Heard this was not the first time. Does it happen. Obviously this happens on a regular basis.
- 4/5
Outdoor furniture was filthy!
- 2/5
Parking was fine. Lobby and entrance areas were maintained. Room has a convenient kitchenette. However exiting the elevator onto the room floor was horrible. Carpet smelled old, damp. Torn curtain dividing room, room were NOT cleaned after leaving & returning. Despite calling & advising the front desk. As a Hilton Honors member, I selected this property because of the brand hence, I could not believe the Hilton brand is associated with this type of poor upkept lack of basic cleaning services. Would not return....EVER!!!!
- 4/5
Con: poor signage on property identifying hotel (there are two hotels in the same building and when coming in one direction of Pickens Street it will say ‘Hilton Garden Inn’ and in the other direction it will list ‘Hilton Garden Inn’ and above that on the roof it will have a sign for ‘Home2Suites’. No sign where the front entrance/parking is and the entrance is hidden from Pickens street with a wall around the parking lot. $13 dollars for parking when it was not listed on the property description when I booked! I was not able to call the property to inquire about a reservation/military discount etc the call went straight to a national number who quoted an outrageous price double what was online
- 3/5
while waiting for elevator a cockroach crawled towards the garbage , yuck. otherwise the room was nice, sort of new hotel. very roomie Home2go.
- 2/5
Random fire alarm went off in the middle of the night waking everyone. Shower not very clean. Alarm was set in my room randomly when I hadn’t touched the clock in my entire stay.
- 5/5
Beautiful property. Front desk staff was very attentive. No cleaning the whole time I was there. I just had to ask for clean towels and more shower products through out the week. The property was a very convenient spot for me and allowed me to walk to a lot of places.
- 3/5
I made the reservation 8 months ago and 2 of our rooms were moved to the hilton garden inn side which turned out to be just fine but i was a bit annoyed at first. our room was a little rough, to be a newer hotel there were lots of poorly painted areas and grommet was missing on divider curtain; nothing that was a super big deal but the room seemed a bit tired.
- 3/5
Modern / new property but on a busy and very noisy main road. Complimentary breakfast was a waste of time really - very poor quality. Not a hotel I would use again.
- 2/5
The rooms bed sheets are terrible. The rooms and hall way smells. And not clean!
- 5/5
The front desk was extremely polite every time we saw them and very helpful. There was someone cleaning every time we entered the hotel.
- 2/5
Having worked in the hotel industry, I understand that oversells happen, but usually it’s acknowledged and the property tries to make up for it. In this case, we had a two queen bed reserved, but were given one king. This left our daughter to sleep on the sofa. We were told there were no extra pillows and requested bedding never arrived. There was still trash in the trash can from the previous guest. Definitely not the Hilton standard, I’d say.
- 5/5
Very close to the U of SC campus! Clean hotel with pool, gym facilities, outdoor seating, complimentary breakfast, ping pong table, and ample parking (for a daily fee). Room was spacious, modern, and very clean. Soda City Market is just a few blocks.away! We will be back!
- 3/5
We checked in later on a Friday night but had called ahead to tell them we would be a late check-in. There was a line to check in when we arrived. They didn’t have envelopes for our room keys and we were not offered complimentary waters for our room, I had to ask for them. We tried to go to the bar for a bite to eat/drink right after we dropped our bags in the room and the bartender ignored us for a solid 5 minutes while he counted money and then was able to tell us the kitchen was closed and finishing up the last order and he was no longer serving. Once we were unpacking and getting settled into our room I noticed how dirty it was…hair on the bathroom floor, food remnants on the floors and in the fridge/freezer and everything was very dusty. We only had 3 towels and 3 wash cloths. There were no bath mat or hand towels and no soap to wash our hands with and when I tried to call to ask for these items I couldn’t get through to the front desk, it was busy. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious but decor was dated. We checked out at 6:15 AM Sunday morning. I grabbed a cup of coffee on my way out and there was no creamer and when I asked the front desk person for some, he determined they were all out. The hotel is conveniently located but service and room condition were lacking. Overall this place gets 2 out of 5 stars and I would not stay here again unless I had to.
- 4/5
I wish the breakfast ran later than 9:30am. And there wasn’t enough help at the desk. I waited a long time to be helped and then my room was t ready for several hours later.
- 4/5
Room had a bit of wear and tear, the bathroom light stopped working on the last night of our trip. Locaiton is ideal relative to USC Campus, less ideal for visiting downtown and/or Five Points if you're walking. Hotel construciton seems incomplete at the moment but when finished would be a solid spot to stay if you're visitng USC.
- 1/5
Check in was delayed for 2 hours, rooms not ready, didnt get to my room until after 5pm. Air condition was broken,so they replaced it rather than give me a new room. New unit also broken. I spent two nights sleeping in an 80 degree room. No one at the hotel was helpful in resolving this issues. Unbelievable, never stay there again.
- 2/5
Beautiful hotel. Front desk people where nice and helpful. My room had used dishes on counters with liquid inside cups. No towels in room, dirty mirror. I asked the bar to help me unscrew a cork, the bartender mumbles something under his breath and help the next guest. I waited patiently for about 15 minutes, when i asked him again, he mumbled something again and went back to asking the next guest what they needed. Also, the hotel amenties state on the website both hotel site and expedia "free breakfast with stay" i still had to pay 20$ anyways.
- 4/5
The shower was not very clean, and there were dirty dishes in the small dishwasher. Otherwise everything was great.
- 2/5
Called ahead to check if pool was working and heated and was told yes. Of course we get there to celebrate our kids birthday and pool is freezing. Wouldn’t have payed this much if known pool wasn’t working.
- 3/5
But the staff was very nice about it.
- 2/5
This hotel says free parking but charged for hotel. Hotel says full kitchen but there is no stove just one microwave. The reception does not receive phone for any hekp.
- 4/5
Tammy and her staff did a fantastic job of allowing us to check-in early! All of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Great hotel to stay at and would stay here again. My only complaint was that several of the guests above and near us were loud after quiet hours.
- 4/5
Sitting in our room on the 6th floor and all we can smell is marijuana. Kids screaming in the hallway and crying. There is next to no water pressure in the shower. When we first got to our room, there was a maintenance cart in there so we had to wait in the hallway. It’s almost 9pm and someone is vacuuming the hallway! The staff is super friendly and probably the only saving factor of this hotel. Based on this experience, we wouldn’t book here again.
- 4/5
Clean and close to the city.
- 2/5
Technical issues with property's computer system delayed check-in by at least 45 minutes. Shower in room was not working properly.
- 2/5
Slow checking in, I waited in line for 20 min, I had to call maintenance to my room as soon as I got to the room. The blinds were broken and not in the window but laying against the wall so they knew it was broke. When I received the invoice they charged more than what was set on Expedia and it said free parking and they charged for that. So not a good stay.
- 1/5
Hands down the worst Hilton I've ever stayed in. $13 a night for parking and when we came back from dinner, the lot was full and we had to park in a dimly lit lot behind the hotel and across the street. AC made a loud noise about every hour. Went to breakfast at 9 am, barely any food left and absolutely no coffee....not an employee in sight. As I was walking down the hall back to my room, an employee was backing out of the gym with a cart and slammed into me...just said "oh I wasn't looking" and kept walking.
- 5/5
We felt very comfortable in our stay. Great common areas to work. I recommend it
- 2/5
Building is nice. But 13 dollars a day to park is dumb and maids never cleaned our room the while week we where there. Sign post in room free parking. False advertising

Good location and comfortable room for good price. But why charge for parking in this location? Nice basic restaurant off lobby and suitable breakfast.

We had a great time. Building was clean ans checked in with no issues. Room was great and as advertised. I wish i wouldn't have overlooked that it was a shower instead of a tub. A tub would have been more ideal for myself and little one. And the bathroom was kind of cramped but other than that I have zero complaints. Staff was wonderful and it is in a great location. Not far from any of the activities we wanted. I personally appreciate a non smoking hotel with an outdoor area where someone could smoke and have a seat. More than enough parking. Highly recommend

We checked in around 10pm and since the hotel was sold out we were given a king size bed instead of the 2 queen beds that we paid extra for. It’s like paying for a full size car and then the rental car agency runs out of those and gives you a mid size car instead for the same price. We had 1 bath towel and 2 washcloths for 4 people (zero hand towels). And lastly, I’m all for a dog friendly hotel but please clean the rooms when they check out. There were short dog hairs covering everything. Gross

When I arrived staff was standing around I waited about 5-7mins before anyone acknowledged me. I stood in a line for Hilton gardens but it was clearly marked for home2 if someone would have ask how can help you I could said I need to check in for home2 but when I got to the front of the line the lady told me check in for home2 is next booth. I Get in the hallway to the room there is a big dead bug outside door. The hallway needed vacuuming. After placing my luggage in the room we decided to head out for a bite to eat . We could not find the don’t disturb sign for door so my husband said he would stop by the front desk and ask for one once we return . We got back to the room my husband said I forgot to ask so he walked back to the front desk and asked the staff for don’t disturb sign. She ask other staff member that said they are on back order and wrote don’t disturb on a sticky note with tape. But you are charging me 13 dollars a day for outside uncover unsecured parking no gates no garage. I’m not sure why it’s 13 dollars but you have paper parking signs for that too. The hot water was not hot it took 5min for water heat up. The room was not vacuumed the curtains had a large hole on side of it. This was the worst stay I had at home2 and I have stayed here 3 times before and they never charged for parking during the pandemic but I would reconsider this location for future stays.

I enjoyed our stay at Home2. It was clean, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were large. The only complaint I have is the breakfast. It was minimal to say the least. I would def stay there again, but not bank on eating in the am.
