Overall, the room was clean, easy to check in, and close parking. The photos online didn’t really match up with how the room was in person. There were also issues with the toilet not flushing and the front door not fully closing shut.

Great location, close to the beach and restaurants.Easy check in, front desk lady was very professional, good experience overall, will stay here again.

3 beds and great location. Older motel so some signs of wear and tear but rooms were clean and comfortable. No bugs, no smells, bathrooms and kitchen appliances all super clean. Would definitely stay again. I thought it was going to have a full-size fridge and it only had a mini fridge.

It was very dirty, the beds were extremely out of date.they were so hard and painful to lay on, the box springs were horrible and full of stains. I inspected the beds for bugs and found nothing, last night I found a bed bug crawling in my kids bed. I was so done. The managers did move us to a different room but the pillow cases were full of blood spots telling me there must have been an infestation. The walls in both rooms were dirty, all the “clean” bath towels were filthy and full of stain marks. I could’ve dealt with the aesthetic being so bad because we were so close to the beach. But the bed bug I could not deal with. My kids were bit and they left with marks and now I’m scared. We came home and are throwing everything in hot water and then to dry.

First Time there - my Aunt and Uncle recommended it and I totally loved it! Great place to rest and relax after being at the beach all day- and it’s literally right across from the Beach which made it even better! I will definitely be back!

Never saw anyone from the staff aside from check-in. Room needed some touching up as far as paint and there were water spots in the ceiling. Aside from that the room seemed decent for the price. I would stay here again.

It's the last motel before the edge of the map runs out. It looks a little rough but it was a fine stay. Staff was polite and helpful. Just booked another stay.

Clean rooms quite

Inexpensive, clean, and comfortable. Needed a place to sleep close to the Padre Islands National Seashore (PINS) to serve as a jumping off point to surf fish for a full day, and this was PERFECT!!

Don’t let the outside fool you! We were in room 101 and it was probably the cleanest room we have stayed in along the coast in a long time. No mold , no dingy smell no sand on the floor from previous guests. Will definitely stay again.

They never came to clean the room, the staff was friendly, only warm water no hot, asked to unclog the shower never came to do that.

Very clean simple place to stay. Staff is extremely helpful. Plenty of parking for a boat. Great place to stay if you’re looking for easy clean place to stay and fish.

It’s not painted well and looks low quality but for the price range I think it is fantastic. I have stayed here twice and will come back. The staff is very very nice!

Room was filthy on all walls including holes, nasty substances, and extremely dirty directly by the door. Shower was absolutely disgusting with stains and mold all the way around the tub. Smoke detector didnt have batteries in it and was open.

If you’re looking for an affordable place to sleep and have a hot shower near the Padre Island National Seashore this is a great place. It’s not fancy but the air conditioning was ice cold and the rooms are clean and equipped with microwaves and refrigerators. There are several food options around and it’s minutes from the entrance to the national seashore. The owners were friendly also.

Such a perfect little getaway spot when going to the beach. I’ve been using this hotel for over 20 years and I’ve never had bad service.

Would not recommend. Online pictures are deceiving. Hotel is run down and unsafe. If you value your security and property, dont stay here.

Would not stay again for the price they charged, holes in the wall and outlets. Shower caddy rusted. Toilet was in a very small space. Not recommended for above average body size. Restroom was hot. Ceiling fan didn’t work. Bed was clean. Staff was friendly.

Very rundown and old rooms, bathroom was really dirty, especially the shower curtain. No official check out, only a basket to drop off the keys. Price in general was decent for what you get. Would not recommend to others.

We had a really good stay at Monterrey. The staff was kind, brought in new towels, emptied the trash and cleaned the floors each morning (HUGE thank you since sand gets EVERYWHERE!). The beds were comfortable with soft pillows so we slept well. Our only issues was the water pressure was not great so showering took a long time but at least we got clean, lol. Also, the pictures show full sized fridges but they're mini fridges. I packed meals for our stay so had to do some tetris action to make it work. So heads up there. All in all, my family and I had a wondeful stay and would stay again! Thank you Monterrey 😊

Overall was a good stay, place is on the run down side but you can tell they do try clean it up and are working on the place. It did have a kitchenette which is a major plus for families looking to cook. Great location to go to Padre Island National Seashore. I will be staying there againg due to convinience and price.

Fantastic. Check in and check out was crazy fast. the room was big and clean (with a full sized fridge!) and the location was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Will absolutely be coming back next time we head out that way.

It was an average stay however it’s a good place to lay your head down. The check in process was easy and fast.

This was a very clean motel. The towels could use an upgrade but that’s my only complaint. I like the convenience of being close to Malaquite Beaxh and the many dining options near by. No blow dryers so bring your own. Definitely will be booking here again.

run down needed updated. But they did give us a room that was remodeled and clean. I see that the property had a new roof..windows..air conditioner.. and our room was freshly painted and ok. But the original room was very unacceptable. I realize that it is a work in progess. And when finished it should be nice.

No table or chairs to sit and eat at inside room. Bathroom wall and floor tile put together like a DIY weekend handyman .. not smooth.. uneven gaps everywhere. Unfinished exposed wood framing throughout complex.

The man that checked us in was friendly and helpful at least.

This facility is undergoing renovations. It was quiet but we were in an older room with an ill fitting front door. We had to put a towel at the bottom to secure the 1” gap at bottom of door to help keep the creepy crawlies from coming in during the night. It wasn’t terrible and I would stay there again for the price.

Overall, staff was a little awkward, acting. Main issue is tub was stained pretty bad. The bathroom sink looks like it was about to fall because you could see was barely hanging. It is real Sandy everywhere inside.

They were doing construction and there was trash everywhere

The tv didn’t work. The microwave didn’t work properly. The bathroom door had a crack in it. The sink had a visible crack in the bowl. Only provided shampoo and bars of soap. Only 2 sets of towels for a room with enough sleeping space for 6! The “kitchen” area was really tight. There was construction going on which could cause someone to run over a nail or screw (which our neighbor ended up doing and warning us about).

Old building but clean room, king size bed was hard. Door lock jams so it takes many tries to unlock to get out. Gap at top of door so bugs crawl inside. Close to beach so you can hear the ocean.

This is the worst motel I have ever stayed !! 10.00 more I could have stayed at BW with breakfast! Holes in walls faceted very bad. Wood trim falling off doors. This place should be shut down!!!!! I will call the city health department

Friendly service, staff was more than accommodating to my very late check in and location provided a quick and easy 10 minute walk to the beach. Hotel was very straightforward and exactly what I was looking for in terms of quick and easy convenience. The hotel was also very quiet, even during the day, which I appreciated. Great staff and would stay here again!

This place is older, so I expected the building and room to be worn. Beds were very uncomfortable, springy and painful. Other than that, the room was cold and clean, which was great!

We had a horrible time at this hotel. The door wouldn't lock. Also to unlock it was you have to lift and twist just to get the door unlocked there were several gaps in the windows and door. The toilet wouldn't flush properly. Everything is outdated. The only good part about the entire stay was that the air conditioner worked really good, but it was a window unit and also outdated. Customer service at the desk was hot. We waited in a small little hall, where there was no AC to check in and to check out. When I checked out I had to wait five minutes in the heat waiting for someone who was cleaning one of the rooms to finally get her attention and have her come check me out. It was only 100° Outside waiting in the heat the refrigerator was not cool enough to keep my stuff cool, so I just kept it in the ice chest over ice. The little couch in the room had stains and cigarette burns all over it. It was pretty disgusting We wouldn't even sit or clothes on it much less we would not sit on it. we were giving no paperwork on check-in or check in and we're not given Internet codes and it took a lot to get the name of the Internet and then the passwords we had to keep calling because the desk was busy and we were transferred to a customer service number, and which we were given the office number. It was a huge hassle just to get "" free Internet there were many more problems, but not enough room on this page to write it.

This place was horrible. We were on the 2nd floor, felt as if we were going to fall through with every step we took. The electricity turned off when I turned my hair dryer on. This place needs to be torn down and updated. The dresser was missing a drawer, their was someone else's hair on the sheets when we pulled back the comforter. We bought a sheet and put it on top of everything befor we layed down.
