Location was good. Room was good (roomy with kitchette). Breakfast downstairs at best was average (out of items, no coffee, etc). Some staff were very helpful but others were incovienced (morning weekend front desk).

We loved our stay. It was a little outdated , but other than that , it was the perfect stay.

The room was clean when we arrived and the view of the ocean was great. Downside is that we had to ask for clean linens and towels because they did not show up to clean our room at all. The breakfast was same food every morning and the best part was just a normal waffle. For the price you get what you pay for I guess.

Property is close to the beach without having to pay a lot for access. Rooms were nice with two beds for easy sleeping arrangements. Nice view from the upper floors. Only issue we had was parking is a premium. Had to park on the street both nights due to limited space for the property.

Lukewarm water at best, no matter the time of day. Phone in room didn't work to contact the front desk. I reported the phone and was told some work some don't. Then the diect line phone number should be posted. Not the wyndham 800. Number. Parking is a NIGHTMARE, the tiki bar next door quickly fills the hotel lot. Oh, when you check in they give you a pass for your car and signs are posted all over the place. However nothing is enforced. Several nights we had to park on the street . When we spoke with staff, the reply was they don't get paid enough to deal with the harassment of telling people to move their car Or drunks coming into the hotel, wanting a boot removed. Why ask, just do it. The hotel is out dated, We have stayed here several weeks over the past 4 years. We agreed this will be the last time.

Everything in the hotel was super. Room and breakfast. Need more parking but it worked out! We will return!!

Breakfast was good! It went on till about 10 which was great, gave us a chance to sleep in. We had a room with a full kitchen, made the trip that much better being able to cook a full meal. The only down side there was no pool. But the beach was right across the street so not much to complain about.

Our room wasn’t ready at check in. The air conditioner in the second bedroom was broken and stuck at 66°. Because it constantly ran, the carpet in front of the air conditioner was wet. The water pressure was extremely low in the shower and sink. The mattress in the pullout sofa was rusty and hard to lay on. The room had a clump of hair on the carpet that was not ours. There were signs of wear and rust everywhere, with “patching” repairs done. For what we paid, I regret staying here.

Some kind of mold on all the cabinet doors that we wiped off. Noise and music from the bar that is right next to the hotel kept us awake well past 1 am. Curtains did not block out the street lights so made for a horrible night's sleep with the light coming in. The unit we were in was a bit run down and the mold on the cabinets was probably the source of the weird smell. Breakfast was small with limited options but okay. Staff was nice. Wouldn't stay here again based on our experience.

I had limited interaction with the staff, as the only person I encountered was the check-in receptionist, so I cant comment on the staff. There was a noticeable foul odor in the lobby area, which discouraged me from trying the breakfast offered. Parking was also a challenge. The lot is quite limited, and when we returned in the evening, there were no available spaces, forcing us to park on the street. Overall, while the stay had some comfortable aspects, there are a few areas that could be improved to enhance the guest experience.

Falling apart, broken promises, no room service and broken elevator. Staff was great however the owner is not invested into this Hotel. Tile was cracked in the bathroom. Shower was missing tile too. Toilets were clogging, and kitchen cabinets falling apart. The hotel did not provide enough pans for cooking. We called to ask for a pan to cook and they told us they don’t have any. We had a long stay there. We were forced to buy cleaning supplies including a mop and broom and cleaning agents. Also, If you go have dinner and come back you will have no parking because there is a bar downstairs and the owner of the bar is part owner of the Hotel and lets the bar hoppers park in the Hotel parking spots. I had to complain and harass the staff to get the new owner which owns the bar to tell the bar customers to move their vehicles. Waiting 4 hours for a parking spot is not acceptable. To add to this, let’s talk about the “no room service”. If you need towels or anything else, you have to call yourself to get them. If you want to relax and enjoy yourself, don’t stay here! As of now I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone because I do not want to catch backlash for recommending it. They used to be great. Now it’s just a mess.

The room was clean, but furniture is old and over used. The wall painting frame was screwed to wall. The office chair had worn & torn vinyl. Lobby & and breakfast rooms were nice. Breakfast was ok. Best part was the walk across the street to beach. Great location. Every restaurant and bar was within a short drive.

I stay here every time I go to whitecap beach and it’s always a great stay! Staff is always pleasant, abr complimentary breakfast is great. The only down side is they had no clean towels to spare but it’s not a huge deal. I highly recommend it here.

First room we were in had a toilet that would not flush and a large wet spot on the carpet near the air conditioning unit. They moved us to a fourth floor room. They had a better view, but still had issues with the toilet and the refrigerator did not work, the freezer did but the refrigerator did not. Office staff seemed indifferent but the maintenance man was excellent. Because of him I rated overall three stars instead of one.

Did not have the pots and pans as advertised. The breakfast was cold and the eggs tasted lile powdered eggs said they had bacon, was just sausage. There was no pool or hot tub. Had cutlery for two only one bowl and when I asked for another they said they didn't have any.

A couple of grab bars in the bathroom DOES NOT QUALIFY THE ROOM as being Handicap! It was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT for my 84 yr old Aunt to bathe and for myself who just had knee surgery! I asked for a view of the beach, I got a view of the side of the building next to us. The caulking around the bath tub was DISGUSTING!

The beach was visible from the room but that wasn’t the point. The elevator was out of order and when it was opened there was a burned rubber smell when it was used. The stove and refrigerator were very old so I didn’t use the stove but just put water in the fridge. They clean the room only after 3 days of occupancy, so if you need anything you had to go get it yourself. Stay if it’s your last resort.

Location was great. room was large just need to be remodeled. whenever you're close to the ocean like that everything gets beat. But would stay there again.

I loved the room we had. It had 2 queen beds, one had it's own room for provacy. It was clean and had no bad odors.

AC was waiting the floor. Water was leaking from sink. Floor was flooded. We found one cockroach in the first day. Lift condition was bad. Need to replace.

The property itself needs attention. The microwave didn't work, which was for the best because it was rusty on the inside of the microwave. The room vibrated and felt unsafe when the dryers were being used. We understood that the staff could only do so much with the property itself. It wasn't the staff we were unhappy with. The property needs a remodel.

Very limited parking and they sell the spots to beachgoers and bar patrons. We had to park way down the street and carry our luggage to the hotel. Not very well planned parking situation!

Our stay was okay. The A/C worked well. Parking was a little tight. Considering that it was after the busy season for them the place was in pretty good condition. And the price was excellent! We did have to ask for coffee for the room every day. We did notice a couple of fire code violations on the entry doors that should be addressed. Other than that it was a good stay.

Hotel is very outdated. The room we stayed in was very dingy. Mold was visible in shower wall/grout. Furniture is old. Window curtains were dirty.

The outside where the parking lot is, is beginning to look run down. The toliet ran constantly the celing was cracking. It seems they left everything in the early 2000's. This place needs full attention soon.

Parking sucks, bed was “eh”, shower kinda moldy in corners, shower head pressure was non existent, didn’t try the breakfast, I think the people upstairs were doing step aerobics at 2am. Expected more for the price.

Our room needed updates. It was a little run down. I had to ask for utensils. They didn’t have any washing soap, kitchen towels or paper towels. Couldn’t clean our dishes. The mattress needed to be replaced. It was overpriced for what you received. You have to ask for the room to be cleaned. The staff was unfriendly. They could have dressed a little nicer to come to work…looked sloppy. Breakfast was pretty good. It did have ocean views, though they could clean the windows every once in awhile. Obviously I wasn’t impressed with this place.

I would not stay here again. Pictures don’t match what you get. Room smells very musty & like mildew. Carpet ripped in areas, tile in bathroom cracked, a/c unit looked like it was about fall off the wall. Overall incredibly rundown. Our room was near the tiki hut bar and the music played until about 10-10:30 but the noise from the patrons continued until 1:30 in the morning.

We booked for 2 nights and only stayed one. Couldn’t stand it. There was mold around the bath tub, the beds sank in the middle, found a fingernail on our bed, and the bathroom sink didn’t drain. The people at the front were nice and worked with us because they didn’t have a room ready for us when we checked in at 430pm. Would never stay here again. The location is great though.

Had to go to front desk for towels and toilet paper . Toilet paper was not available till the next day after the cleaning lady’s came. Asked for my room to be swept was told they don’t clean occupied rooms. Stayed 3 days . When I would leave and come back the air conditioners were turned off. But I had left them on. We have stayed in this hotel at least four times before. Most of the rooms have things here and there you can overlook. This particular room was really run down. The bathroom look like it had black mold growing near the vanity. The faucet was rusted out in the shower. The liner was cloth which is concerning..the room didn’t have standard utensils like napkins and cutlery. The microwave is broken. The safety lock on the door was missing. The carpet felt wet or damp. The bedroom had one nightstand for the right side of the bed. The coat closet had kids blanket and a pillow? Not sure if a animal was in there or something else. The room had a feel and smell like something wasn’t right.

Overall this hotel is great for the price and the room layout was wonderful. Beds were soft, bathroom had good Dove brand minis, and the full size fridge came in handy. AC worked well too! But there were two rather descent drawbacks: 1) The check in was horrible. The woman was very friendly, however we had already paid for our rooms (did so the morning of because someone called stating they had to run the charges or forfeit the room- so I went ahead and let them charge the rooms early) and she and her coworker insisted on swiping my card again stating it was for incidentals. I have fraud alert on my card to go off if anything over a certain limit occurs (especially on vacations-great idea and works well) it went off stating another charge was attempted by the hotel for the nights fee that was already paid. They insisted that’s not what they’re doing but they tried it three different times. I was frustrated, I let them process the charge again but stated if it did not roll off in the morning then it is fraud. They did this for all three rooms. 2) i asked when booking the reservation months ago for the rooms to be together(had 3 then added a fourth last minute). They not only didn’t have them close together but all on different floors. We weren’t thrilled at all. Total check in time took close to 45 minutes. We would recommend the hotel itself but we personally won’t be back due to the service.

One morning breakfast area was messy, out of forks , one morning the building had a trembling when questioned acted they didn’t know also got the same reaction when we informed them exit by the ice machine was stuck very hard opening, your suppose to try very hard, eventually it will open which is so dangerous

Had an awful experience at another place in Port Aransas. So unfortunately we just got one night at this hotel. But it was so comfortable. My husband and I spent our anniversary night there. And what a wonderful night it was. Had huge towel and a very good breakfast. The room was also very clean. And had a slight view of the gulf. Can’t wait to return very soon.

This might be one of the worst hotels I have stayed in. Everything was completely worn, rusty, or broken. We were so exhausted we just stayed but if I can warn others away from here I will. We were a family of six so options are slim. The fold out sofa folded out into a desk blocking the way to get into the extra room. So we had to crawl across our kids to get into our room to sleep. Luckily we didn’t need to use the bathroom at night, otherwise you would be crawling across sleeping people to get to it. Beds were uncomfortable. Carpets pretty gross. The floors were slick, I was sliding around on them right when we entered the room. The shower wouldn’t drain. The fans worked, and the ac worked thankfully. But the room definitely looked like the sea had taken its toll on it. Every fixture was rusted. The dish washer was broken. Good thing we didn’t need to use it. The breakfast area had towels in the windows which looked like they were soaking up condensation the dripping ceiling. The whole place smelled like cleaner but wasn’t clean.

The hotel is older but the location to the beach is great. The parking situation is not the greatest when the weekend arrived as there’s a bar adjacent the hotel. When I let the management know that all the parking was taken and the hotel next door had towing, he just shrugged and told me to park on the street…NOT OK as my husband is handicapped. Other than that, the staff were pleasant

Cleaniless and price were the most important factors, and when I compared prices and reviews with similar hotels in the area and further away, I went with Hawthorn Extended Suites... Our stay was ok. Not stellar, but not horrible. I found the note left on a folded papertowel instead of stationary a little tacky - considering we paid $300 for 2 nights. Also, the the parking lot is super tiny. There was no parking when we first arrived and were told we would have to park in the street parking. Not the hotel's fault at all, but the whole island lost power for about 12 hours in the wee hours of our first night. It came back on fir a few hours and then went out again for for 3 or 4 hours. They say there was a storm that came through and damaged electical equipment for both Padre and Mustang Ilands. Either way, we weren't able to enjoy any of the amenities and can't tell you how the breakfast was. If you're looking for a clean room near the beach with a small kitchen, this is your place.

Breakfast was a let down. The waffles had a sour taste, not sure if the batter was bad. Eggs and sausage were good but they ran out and it seemed as though the person working didnt respond to vomments about there being no main food items to eat. On a good note the coffee was good. Sleep arrangements were comfy but the room was tight. I had reserved for 8 people but it only slept 6 comfortably.

This is the least expensive hotel on the island and that’s pretty much why we stay here. The employees are really nice and the rooms are very clean. The continental breakfast is decent. The rooms are a bit dated but they’re comfortable. We have stayed here many times and highly recommend it.

After calling the manager, they were very accommodating and quickly offered to relocate us. The second room was much cleaner and in better condition. I assume the larger suites take more wear and tear from families, but it’s unfortunate that they aren’t maintained as well. Parking was another major issue. The number of spaces is very limited, and there are no signs indicating that they are reserved for hotel guests. Because the hotel shares the property with a bar, many of the spots were taken, leaving us to park on the street the second night, which was very stressful. The breakfast area was also disappointing—there were only a handful of bles, which is far too small for a hotel with multiple floors of rooms. The food didn’t look very appetizing either. Overall, the staff was kind and helpful, but the owners really need to consider updating the hotel. I suspect the

There was a bad smell through out the hotel. The people working there had a careless attitude. Lady behind the front counter had prision tattoos all over her face with access to your info. My wife has cancer and did not feel safe there at all. I heard the staff yell at another customer about the door card getting unprogrammed. Just a very bad vibe and no way we could stay there.
