Wyndham Corpus Christi Resort North Padre Island

The hotel is a 3 star (low end of 3) - not a 4 star as advertised. The rooms were clean but very sparse rooms. The property is old and dated. It was a great weekend vacation property for me and my 17 year old son - so we were fine with the property for 3 days. However, I was dissappointed when first arriving - its not anywhere near a 4 star property. The hallways looked like a frat party had been going on for the last two weeks - stains all over. The beds were older and squeaked - A LOT - every time you moved in bed it squeaked. If you know this going in - its an okay property with the best access and view of the beach. I rarely give negative feedback - just wanting to help people know this Wyndham property is not a 4 star hotel.

Check in was at 4pm, we pre-checked in online and still waited until closer to 5pm to go to the front desk. We waited in line behind 2 people to check in for over 40 minutes. When we got to the desk, we were told our room wasn’t ready yet and that I had to fill out the paperwork that we did online already, because the system was down. They went ahead and moved our room, which I was grateful for until we got to it. The restroom floor was covered in some sort of hair/dirt, there was mold in several places and it look like someone had slapped plaster on the wall by the bed where there was a hole punched or kicked in it. It definitely needs a deep cleaning and some renovations before I’d consider staying there again.

However, bedding was clean, tub was spotless, right on the beach so you can’t beat that! View from the room was beautiful. Restaurant food was delicious, drinks from the bar were decently priced. Pool was clean. It’s definitely a 1 star hotel when it comes to the maintenance and upkeeping. Amenities 2.5 and that’s pushing it. 5 stars for beach access.

We get to the room amd as soon as we open it, it smells, it smelled like fish. The housekeeper was across the hall so I asked if she could spray our room. She was beyond amazing and checked it. As soon as she walked in she said, "I don't think your room was even cleaned." Honestly fooled me because other than the smell nothing really looked off. She stocked our towels and sprayed the room so good that you would never know it was bad. The sheets we did remove because they too were dirty and there was some trash behind some chair on the corner. The housekeeper did her best but we should've never been placed in that room. I went to CVS and bought cleaners and cleaned the room myself so that we didn't disturb the housekeeper anymore. She really was amazing and kind. I think had that not been the case I would've complained and asked for another room but since she was so great I didn't feel the need to be unkind. Other than that, the staff is kind and amenities are great.

We didn't have any issues until the fire alarm went off a few times. I know that's rare but it disrupted our stay due to our children being terrified that it would go off again.

This place is so convenient because it is right off the beach but we had to change rooms twice. They are not keeping up with taking care of this place. The handle in the shower was broken in our first room and then the tv and phone did not work in the second room. It took two hours before we could get settled and we had driven 3 hours. The carpets are filthy and they had us waiting on maintenance to go check as if we were lying about the issues.

I like the location. The room was a good size. I liked how the TV was set up. The balcony view to the water was very nice and there were chairs to sit on. The beds were uncomfortable. There could have been more outlets around the bed for cell phone charging. The front desk lady wasn't friendly but she wasn't rude. I don't like that they had me pay $10 a night for parking. They could just include it in the price of the room. I picked this place because there wasn't any other hotel that had balconies facing the water. If there was another choice, I would go there.

Rooms were clean but carpet in hallways and elevators were dirty. I’m sure that’s to be expected at a beach hotel, but went 3 days with trash and food on the floor in the hallway. I loved the rest of the stay so if that’s my only complaint, it’s nothing!

The location is great! RIGHT on the beach! The Anchor Bar and Grill was awesome— great service at a decent price for drinks. The food was on point! The pool was nice— not overly crowded and a good temperature. The rooms, hallways, and common areas are in need of a major update. The elevators are TINY and a bit sketchy. Dirty, stained carpet in the hallways gave off a musty smell. The beds seemed very worn, and for goodness sakes, spring for satellite tv!

The Wyndham on Whitecap Beach is the perfect place for a beach getaway. Housekeeping never came by to give us fresh towels, and the windows are never maintained, even by the poolside, but while the maintenance and housekeeping are subpar, the overall pleasurable experience is still maintained. Would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a Corpus trip. Making hotel guests pay for parking on their lot is also ridiculous, especially when there is free parking literally the next lot over.

Everything has a price. Parking is 10 dollars a day. Prices per night very high. Service in the restaurant was poor and super super slow. Drinks were not made well. Rooms are very clean but old and definitely need a face lift. The elevators made very loud popping noises slow and felt uncomfortable to ride in.

The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated, but the updates felt rushed and done as cheaply as possible. While everything looked newer at first glance, it didn’t take long to notice the shortcuts and lack of attention to detail throughout the property. The one major positive was the location. Being right on the beach was convenient and provided easy access to the water. Unfortunately, our room’s window was so dirty that we couldn’t fully enjoy the view of the beach and parking lot. The room itself had maintenance issues as well. The bathroom faucet was broken, and when we reported it to staff, there was no apology, concern, or sense of urgency. The response felt more like, “Yeah, we know,” than a genuine effort to address the problem. That interaction really summed up the overall attitude we experienced during our stay. The pool was a disappointment. It was not well maintained and was very dirty and mold visible. There were also several intoxicated guests around the pool area, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and raised some safety concerns. The overall cleanliness and upkeep of the hotel left a lot to be desired. Party debris from the night before was still scattered around the lobby the next morning, creating a poor first impression. The staff was not welcoming upon check in and came across as borderline hostile. The bathroom smelled like mildew. The sheets and towels were rough which was awful because we got sunburned. The hallway carpet on the 5th floor was filthy. They ran out of coffee in the lobby and when I informed the front desk they gestured towards the bar and restaurant and said “tell them”. Don’t get me started on the awful dining experience. And the bar closing at 11 on the weekend; make it make sense. Overall it’s overpriced for the service and the condition of the room.

Entire place needs renovation. Wallpaper peeling. Drop ceiling tiles missing or black in places. Carpet in hallway matted. Room had no microwave, Coffe machine or mini fridge. Pay to park your vehicle. If you don't you get towed. Think it was $10 a night. Restaurant if that's what it is served bare minimum. Nothing terrible nothing special. Elevators will get your attention. Door wants to close no wait it doesn't oh yeah let's close. Check literally starts at 4pm. I showed up early and waited a long time.

We loved the the location, our room, staff was excellent. The Anchor restaurant was delicious along with the drinks! The hotel really does need some work. Just some paint in rooms, new trim around the elevator. Wall paper removed around the elevator would really make it nice. A little work would go a long way.

The roof leaks on floor 6 when it rains. You can see they patch it with spackle. When it rained it washed it away and I saw the black mold it was hiding.

The first issue occurred before we even got into our room. We arrived early and were told our room was available and ready, yet the hotel wanted to charge an additional $80 just to check in a few hours early. Charging that much for access to an empty room that was already prepared felt excessive and left a poor first impression. Unfortunately, things did not improve after check-in. A dog in a nearby room barked continuously for nearly two hours straight. I called the front desk to report the issue, but nothing was done to resolve it. The barking continued and made it impossible to relax in the room. To make matters worse, dogs were barking throughout the evening and well into the night, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. While I understand this is a pet-friendly property, guests should still be able to enjoy a reasonably quiet stay. Between the excessive early check-in fee, lack of response to noise complaints, and constant barking dogs, this stay did not meet expectations. I would not choose this property again and would recommend others consider these issues before booking.

Had a great one night stay for our first time. We will definitely be back as regulars. Pool and bar over the beach was my favorite.Restaurants food was very good also. Staff was on point and rooms and other amenities were great. Glad we found it.

My 5th trip to the area. This was the best. Most importantly….the staff. Most of these resorts are full of staff that have contempt for gringos. This place was way above the rest. Also no kids. Not that I don’t love kids but let’s be real. Big 40+ friends group. Will definitely come back. While most places had seaweed or rocks on the beach,…this place you could swim. Anytime,….and I mean ANYTIME….i want something I got it in less than an hour. Pools were awesome. Fun coordinators were great. The Italian restaurant was fire. Sushi was also great. Room service was “meh” but it always is.

Wyndham should really be ashamed to have such a bad place associated with it and I’ll never stay at a Wyndham again cause obviously there is no standard

The room had sand everywhere the bathroom is so small and we had a suite. The hallway floors were so nasty looking with stains everywhere and on the 3rd floor there is a huge gap right at the elevator on the left side. The door to the balcony is so hard to open do to rust. You have to pay $10 a night to park and they are not responsible if anything happens to your vehicle. Over all not to bad but I don’t think we will be staying here again we where in room 308 for one night.

It's a fine hotel. could use some updating. The balcony needed cleaning and paint. The restaurant near the lobby is very good. Pool is nice, hot tub was out of order.

Upon arriving to our room I placed my clothes for the race I was participating in the following morning in the corner or the room so it could be easy to find when I woke up. I had to move the clothes when we changed room…I’ll get to that … and two big roaches ran out of my clothes. Super classy! Okay so back to when we had to move to a new room. 10:20pm my wife got out of the shower and was about to blow dry her hair when the wall outlet In the restroom didn’t work. The obvious thing to do next would be call the front desk. Which was what I try to do but the room phone didn’t work. I called the hotel off my phone. No answer. I decided to visit the front desk and ask how we could resolve the issue. Mind you we had a race in the morning and I was already laying down when all this happened. When getting to the front desk I explained the issue to the young lady and she told me she could get me into another room and I accepted. With the caveat that they made sure that the outlet in the restroom worked and I was told that it would. So I packed up everything and took it to the next room. Unpacked everything. And the outlets In that restroom didn’t work either. They offered me another room again and the outlet didn’t work there either. At around 11pm I was given the option of a full refund and leaving. Lmao in the middle of the night that’s how they accommodate the guest. The hot tub doesn’t work and the pool has no filter and is..

Very clean room nice people

Being there 3 nights our room didn’t get serviced by house keeping any day. We would go out all day come back afternoon and nothing had been done to it.

Honestly, when I first pulled up, I was like, "Seriously? This is what I paid $600 for?" And that was just from the outside. Inside wasn't much better. After dealing with the front desk staff and getting charged for parking (which is insane!), I went up to my floor. The carpet looked awful, peeling up and everything. The walls were missing trim, and the wallpaper was falling off. The hallway had this weird, musky smell. The rooms themselves weren't too bad, but it seemed like they redid the rooms and then just gave up on the hallway. The ceiling on the first floor was leaking, with huge puddles everywhere on the first morning. Honestly, the best things about this place were the kitchen, the outdoor bar, and beach access. Other than that, it was absolutely terrible. I'd probably never stay there again, especially for what I paid. To elaborate a bit on the parking, it's definitely a scam for hotel guests because the number of people who parked there and didn't pay is ridiculous. The number of people who swam in the pool after hotel guests had to wear colored wristbands to show staff they were staying there was also ridiculous. So, all the stuff I was paying for and the amenities, people around me were getting for free, and that's what really ticks me off.

Elevators from the second floor looked like they were doing cheap renovations. Wallpapers falling off and hallways smelled awful.

Location is good. Busy place stayed during spring break. Had to wait awhile for elevators due to long line. Long lines during check in process. Very hard parking here , hard to find a spot , had to pay to park too. Windows are very dirty. Can’t take pictures of the beautiful view through windows can barely see out of . Everything needs some TLC here . Probably wouldn’t stay here again

Besides that unexpected cost (that will take a few days for my bank to release back to me) there were a few other issues. Parking is an additional fee and that was also not made clear in any way before hand. Towing is strictly enforced. The pool is lovely but right by the bar so not as kid friendly as you might hope. Luckily the beach is right there so we spent our time there instead. When we got to our room there was a stiff crusty pair of panties left hanging over the shower rod and the bathroom door was off the tracks so that it would not shut or lock. They did fix that promptly when I told them about it. The elevator door also got stuck when my kids were on it so they ended up taking the stairs. For what we paid to stay there I was pretty disappointed with everything except the beach access.

Rooms are in dire need of updating. Bathroom mold around shower and tub. Electric oulets barely hold devices plugged into them. Room door self closing mechanism not working. Door to balcony in our room was rusted and difficult to open anc close. Elevators and hallways are in need of repair and updating. Don't depend on the pictures of the hotel to depict what you are going to get because they are very misleading.

I'll start with the good. Clean bed, hot shower, soap/shamp/conditioner dispenser had decent products, coffee pods were quality, clean water station in lobby, decent little restaurant near lobby with great service, small store inside with some convenient items, bar outside with music and food, ocean view, cold ac. Alright, so be prepared for the following. Upon check in you have a choice to park in the hotel parking lot for an additional $10 a day. There is public parking nearby if you dont mind the short walk. Breakfast available at the restaurant downstairs for under $20/pp-no continental breakfast. The beach is public and may be completely packed, so claim a spot early. It gets loud. Lots of different music competing. There are chairs on the beach for rent additional $15 and up. As in other reviews, pool was not open. Hot tub "under construction". The seagulls were enjoying the pool at least. The hotel itself is in some rough shape. The room was awkward with random furniture. Rusty fixtures. Someone else's hair on the toilet seat and in the shower. Door locks rusty, be careful not to get locked out on the balcony as I did. Trash was on the balcony from previous guests. Be careful in the elevator. It was really glitchy. You will need to check out towels for the beach. A few days in, asked for stayover service. They never changed our bedding just gave us extra towels, tp and trash bags. Its ok I guess but I won't stay here again.

Right on the beach!

I absolutely love this place. I come down here all the time. I see what their current review is and it does not match what I have experienced. It’s right near the water. The beach is really nice there and there’s a little outdoor bar that’s pretty cool. Have an indoor bar and restaurant as well. I haven’t eaten at the restaurant, but it seems like a nice place to eat. Just haven’t done it yet. The rooms are always nice and clean and comfortable and the staff is always friendly and attentive. I gave this place near a 10. The only thing is is that the place doesn’t need a little remodeling. But it’s all minor stuff. I would say the elevators are a little small for the size of hotel. But other than that, that’s it. I will always stay here when I come down the North Padre.

Staff members are amazing! But the building is not in the best condition. Unfortunately there’s many repairs that need to be made in that building. Such as the outdated furniture and amenities and appliances.

Only a few rooms have ocean view, property needs updated flooring

The front desk services was bad. The toilet throughout the hotel will not flush without having to hold down the button for a while. The shower won’t drain so when you take a shower, you have 5 inches of water on your feet. The hot tube is broken. The exterior wall is cracking and breaking down. The list goes on. I usually don’t leave a bad review, but this was a bad hotel. One good point is that it is walking distance to the beach and the karaoke was fun.

Garbage, not pet friendly

Was there for 4 nights, $782.00. Hope, Wyndham will reconsider this independent service for their hotel on N.Padre Island. It’s being run just like before when Holiday Inn. Those who remember being a guest with a major hotel chain feel welcomed and treated well. Hope Wyndham will demand this with staff. Travel days are long and tiresome. Paying for parking is not right, maybe if was covered.

Old, dirty and outdated dump on the beach. Our room was never cleaned, although I have requested that service with front desk. Cleaning staff is not available on Sundays either. Hot tub never worked in years. They charge $60 for early check in and $10 parking per day which was not mentioned anywhere. Food at the bar is decent and live music was playing all weekend outside at the patio bar and inside the breakfast area on Sunday which was nice. The place needs serious cleaning and renovation. The carpet was nasty. The only great things were the view and the bar staff.

Just a yucky place. They charge $13.00 to park yourself over night. The windows were so filthy you couldn’t see out, the paint is peeling and cracked, the floors were dirty. Would never stay here again. Icky!!

A great hotel with awesome food and location

Cant see through the windows, previous persons hair in the bed, carpet stained all on the 2nd floor. Really has that "we use to care but that is no longer in the budget" feel to it.

The view was very nice so thats what they are banking on. The balconies are not like the pictures. It is dilapidated The hotel is rundown and dirty hallways. checkin staff was not friendly. Roach smashed in the hallway. Pool tile was gross. You have to pay to park. Loud music and lots of drunks.

While the location is great. The hotel itself needs a makeover.i was looking forward to see the ocean from our ocean view room. Very disappointed since the window was so dirty we couldn’t see anything outside. The sofa was very dirty and musty. And the second room we reserved had a water leak on the floor. When the front desk girl came to see the water on the floor she blamed it on us that we shouldn’t have have the A/C at 72degrees. I mentioned to her what she should have said let’s move you to another room and apologize for the inconvenience and not blame the customer. It had nothing to do with the temperature since it had been set by them. So we asked for the manager who finally agreed to move us into another room.Whatever happened to good customer service???? We will not be returning

Horrible customer service and shower feels like a low pressure water hose and it’s not connected in the wall so you can’t adjust the shower head with out fear of damaging pipe in wall.

The view was the best part of our stay. The pool was a good size and heated. The railing holding the bathroom door was starting to pull away from the wall which made us afraid to use it. The door going to our balcony was old and hard to open. Only one elevator was working during our stay, which was inconvenient. There's no complementary breakfast.

The property is definitely showing its age. It needs some TLC. The carpets in the hallways need attention, the tiki bar and patio need repainting/refurbishing. The location is amazing….right on the beach! Front desk staff was very pleasant.

Beautiful location right on the beach!! Our room was great, beds were comfortable, we had a city facing room and it was fairly quiet during the week. The hallway carpets are pretty gross and stained, and the ice machine on our floor didn’t work, but otherwise we were very pleased. The attached restaurant was delicious! Note the pool is heated, so the 80-90 degree summer weather doesn’t really work during the day to swim in bath water, and the hot tub although large doesn’t have jets or water movement so it’s also like sitting in stagnant bath water. *when visiting, you must go to Black Diamond Oyster Bar and book a fishing trip with Sharkah Brah*

Great hotel right on the beach. Our balcony room was large and our balcony was amazing. The restaurant had great fresh food for decent prices. Only complaint we have is about parking. There is no advertised price for parking, it’s $65 for 5 days.

Staff is absolutely rude

AWFUL!!! Planned a family weekend get away both nights at 2am the fire alarm went off; of course it is a cause for concern when they can’t tell you why it’s going off and it’s just a false alarm. The front desk continuously told us the first night it happened that we would not hear it again and it was a random incident; same thing the next night. We had our children terrified to go back to sleep afraid of the alarm going off again. When we talked to the front desk about what we can do about it they said they couldn’t do anything about it and were extremely rude about it and did not care at all.

Our TV was broken and never fixed. Water in the shower was super cold. The room we got booked was a handicapped room so we had trouble with showers due to a lower shower head. We did not get a couch either. A fire alarm woke us up every night due to a faulty alarm. No housekeeping was done during our stay. The establishment was run down. The only upside was being right near the beach. Other than that, it was very poor stay. I had high expectations. I will also never book through Expedia again, due to the room we got.

We had a great stay! Perfect location and the staff was wonderful! The hotel is beachfront and walks right out to the water. We had a balcony that faced the water as well and it was wonderful! The hotel is a little older which is to be expected on a beachfront property. The hallways need a major update and so do the bathrooms, but it was not anything that would deter me from staying again. My bed was wonderful and so were the pillows!

Great location. Wonderful staff. Needs a bit of updating but they will get there! Great place for families with older kids. We could let teens kids go to beach and we could still them. pool overlooking the beach. All the staff we meet were very nice and helpful. This was our first time there but we will come back

Room, bathroom, lobby was nice, clean. Heated pool was nice. I liked walking to other nearby spots. I would return based on these things. Very different vibe from Port A and other hotels. I did like it. Things that were a little off were receptionist could bot answer my questions or help with parking. It wound up being about $11 a night which wasnt bad, but at 1st she said she didnt know anything about the parking. I was like well is it $50 or $1 and she just said I dont know. When I logged in to check it asks for your credit card before it says a price. Room had some trash on the floor and food in the fridge even though you could tell the room was just mopped. Management sent a lot of texts saying they know the outside needs updates. The windows were hard to see out of, but it was a beautiful view from what we could see.

Don't stay until after the renovation is completed. The property has suffered over time and the future renovation was not mentioned until it was time to give a review. The balcony was rusted from the salty air. The window treatments were ripped, faded and some didn't work. The floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned but it was just worn. Better to wait a year or so to book your stay.

You can tell this is an older building but it was very clean. The staff was lovely. The pool was pristine and warm. The beach access is fantastic and the bar by the pool was a total vibe. We will defiantly be staying here again.

Had a view but marred by dirty window. O hot water for shower, no shower head except located 6 inches above bathtub faucet. I requested a partial refund because left the room and my daughter paid for one with a working shower. Of course no refund!wont use your services, nor stay at this hotel again.

The facilities and staff were great. Location was excellent with a beautiful beachfront view My only critique is the room did not have a blow dryer or a full length mirror.

Just expected more from a Wyndham. What is represented online, is not what you get! Just looks like it has had about 10 too many Spring-Breaks. Staff is friendly and helpful. Value did not meet the price of admission.

From check in to checkout. 100 deposit "in case I damage the room". The room was a wreck. The door to the balcony was impossible to open. Rusted shut I'm guessing. The room smelled ...wet. No water pressure in the shower. The thing that made me really angry, was the parking. I was told it was "off season" so there was no charge. I cannot imagine being charged when ALL the parking was taken up with golf carts. I KNOW these people were not guests at this hotel because many left when the bar closed. In the mean time, I had to park at the far north end of the property. The person at the desk said there was nothing they could do. VERY POOR MANAGEMENT DECISION. The bar people should not have parking priority over hotel guests.

I booked a king suite. When I got there the room smelled like smoke, dog and dog pee. The rep went to check and then moved me to another room which was considered an upgrade for two queen beds. I explained to her this is not an upgrade when I booked a king. She sd nothing else was available since I booked through Expedia for upgrades. I then asked if a king was available with the hotel and I’d pay the difference bc I need a king and she then told me no kings were available. Once we got in the new room it did smell allot better. I did let them know their staff can do a better job cleaning bc there was hair in the bathroom, mold spores on the ac vent, and the legs on the table were dirty. The beds weren’t bad but since I was downsized to a queen it was very uncomfortable for my husband and I and barely slept.

Hotel was a little worn in spots, but the new leadership group has potential to bring back the bright star. Great views, fun pool, perfect for what it is - strong beverages from the tiki hut, quick access to the amazing beach, heated pool and hot tub, spacious clean hotel room. I would stay here again. We love the location and have stayed here a few times before. I feel the rooms could generally be cleaner. We finally got an ocean view room this time which I love but I don't feel like it was worth the price we paid to get it. The first thing we saw when entering the room was an old stained chair that I definitely would not consider sitting in and the room did not smell very pleasung. The bed was cimfy but we did have to ask for a second comforter as it was very tjin. They gave us an extra with no problem. The pool was nasty! Cigarette butts, trash, water bottles floating in the pool and some very undesirable prople in the pool. Live to swim but not with that trash.

One of the comforters had blood stains on it(which I documented with photos) and the sheets were stained. Luckily we brought blankets with us because that’s just disgusting, especially on white sheets and a white comforter… definitely not worth $200 a night

This hotel seems to not been maintained, or deep cleaned in a very long time. It looks like its falling apart. The location is awesome but our room just felt looked dated and dirty. The windows and floors looked so dirty. And it just seemed it hadn't been cleaned properly since I was able to wipe down stains from furniture and and bed headrest.

First off thank you for allowing me the opportunity to complete this survey. As I do every survey of places I visit. Being a retired Navy Seal Veteran I expected so much more from the staff. Day one check in was halfway smooth the front desk lady had no idea what she was doing. I could tell she hadn’t been there too long or not long on a front desk. Her communication was very short and brief. We check in with no qualms. I requested handicap and hearing accessible like w do anywhere else we stay. The bed was so high off the ground my fiance had to push me on the bed sad yet true. The bottom part of the bed is metal or steel it was very rusty along with the bleached carpet around the baseboard. The lamps had more rust around it I felt like I was back in Vietnam slightly in my sarcastic voice. The bathroom had the handicap handles in the tub which was a huge plus but the toilet kept running after you flushed it out e had to go play with the handle to get it to stop and yet again more rust around the toilet bowl bottom. The view would have been decent if the windows were maintained and cleaned there was bird poop everywhere. The tv kept cutting off the reception and signal was the worse. The day we left I always strip the beds of any hotel I stay in which allows for less work on the housekeeping to learn it was stained with what looked like urine and brownish circles like old dried dead blood. I wanted to express this to the front desk.

Nothing like walking into your hotel stay with a blank stare greeting. I just looked at her and said “well hello”. This hotel is really outdated for the amount of money they charge and the rooms look worse than a motel six on the southside. We got there a little early (2:00) but you can’t check in until 3:00-4:00 and if you want to check in early, there’s another rate they charge you. Hotel was probably 30% full. The ceiling had cracks where the old return AC used to be. Ceiling had many patches along the way. And I find it crazy that I had to login into my own home cable provider just to watch a local football game. I do have pictures to share, but it doesn’t have anywhere on here to upload.

Room service was pathetic. We did not get enough towels and had to ask for it. They dont have person to send it room and we had to collect from front desk. They dont have trash bin at all for which we had to request. Exhaust fan in bathroom was not working. We booked for 3 night so was expecting a room cleanup service and request 3 times but no luck. They attempted once and we told them they can come in 30mins as we want to step out while cleaning is happening but they never turned up. Usually they charge for parking though they have enough space but luckily they didnot charge as because of less guests.

Our room looked over the parking lot but I could see the beach from the window, the window had heavy water stains on it but being on the beach some is to be expected. The hotel overall was clean, the foyer was nicely decorated with a complimentary filtered water station and coffee available. The halls and room, bathroom were clean, the water pressure in the tub/shower could have been better but the water does get nice and hot, the sounds outside the room in the hallway were very minimal, the ice machine worked well, the elevators were the smallest I've ever been in. Prices for our stay were reasonable this visit, hopefully they remain so, the staff were all nice and welcoming. They have a nice bar and restaurant there in the hotel we did not order drinks from the bar but I did make purchases from the market store at the bar. We ordered breakfast to go from the restaurant, Anchor Bar and Grill. We ate it relaxed in our room that morning however the view of the beach from the restaurant is lovely. Our meals were delicious, large portions and reasonably priced for the quality of food received.

I am extremely disappointed with this Wyndham property. It is clear that the hotel is aging, but the lack of proper maintenance has reached a point where it feels both neglected and unsafe. **Safety & Maintenance:** The maintenance is amateur at best. There is visible water damage on the ceilings fixed so poorly that you can see the mismatched paint. In Room 606, the metal balcony railing is severely corroded; on a high floor, this is a major safety hazard. Outside the elevators, the wood paneling is broken and splintering. Furthermore, the hallway carpets were filthy and appeared unvacuumed for days. **Amenities:** The facilities are in a state of decay. The pool area has broken tiles with visible mold growing in the cracks. The hot tub was unusable—the water was filthy and the jets were broken. Out of two elevators, only one was working, resulting in long wait times to get to our rooms. **Management & Service:** The management is rigid and unprofessional. My friends arrived at 2:00 PM and were told they had to wait until 4:00 PM to check in unless they paid a $30 early check-in fee. Forcing guests to wait two hours for a room in a hotel with such poor facilities is unacceptable. It feels like they are just putting "lipstick on a pig" with cheap, unprofessional repairs rather than actually maintaining the building. I will never stay here again and strongly suggest others avoid this location

The elevators were small and it was hard getting the luggage cart in or out. And they broke down often. The handicap room had a tub with soap we could not reach and no stopper for the tub. And the tub/shower was very slippery.

A lovely place to be by the beach. They have an outdoor bar along with all the other things a hotel should have. The room was clean and the staff was amazing. This is my new stop when I go to North Padre Island.

This hotel was nasty. From the front entrance and the lobby and the elevators to the carpet in the hallways. When I say nasty I truly mean it. We were there for 2 nights and 3 days. The same trash was on the floor of both elevators for the entire time. No one was cleaning the lobby or elevators at all. The carpet in the hallways was completely disgusting. When you have such high traffic at a beach location this should be top priority and yes it is hard to keep clean but it is what happens when you are a beach hotel.

Warning, The pictures are very deceitful. We thought we booked an ocean view since the pictures showed a ocean view and the other a parking lot view. There are 5 cars in the parking lot since it's a Monday night in December. When we asked to check the price and move to the ocean view she wanted to charge us $90 more dollars. $60 more than if we would have booked today through the site. Customer service is a lost service here.

We were not informed until we check out via email that we wouldn't have room cleaning service unless we requested it and if we stayed for 3 nights. The hot tub was not in use and the water level was under the jets. We were told that it was due to the weather which did not make since. We got an email after check regarding this issue also. A little too late.

Decent room for the price, everything worked properly and it was clean. There is work to be done on the cosmetic side but they are working on it. Location can’t be beat! We tried using the hot tub the morning before we left and they said it didn’t open until 10 due to cleaning but nobody was cleaning it. We asked for an exception and they refused so I feel they could have easily won us over with a simple gesture.

This is the third time staying in this property and it has slowly gotten less desirable to return,while we like the location the facility is showing signs of disrepair the rooms are ok but the smell in the hallways is sometimes rather strong the windows are so fogged up you can hardly see outside. I will probably not book this facility if improvements are not made. What made this experience more frustrating is due to outside conditions we were forced to be indoors more than expected I hope improvements are made

The bar/restaurant staff and areas were excellent! However, they are managed by a different company. I don't know in how Wyndham, in good conscience, could lend their name to such a filthy, rundown place. The sofa looked like it hadn't been changed out since the hotel was built, the bathtub was so dirty we only took sponge baths.

After a full day of travel I changed into my swimsuit and signed out towels at the front desk. Walked to the hot tub only to find it freezing and without any jets on. I went back to the front desk to turn the towels in and when I told the lady at the desk she said she didn't know it wasn't working. There were no signs posted anywhere about it not working either. Then I went to the restaurant in the lobby to eat and the waitress told me people had been complaining about the broken hot tub for the entire week. Then I decided I would just go to my room and take a hot bath in the bathtub only to discover that there is no drain plug so therefore no way to take a bath either. I called the front desk to ask for one and was told they don't have one. Then the toilet backed up and I had to get a plunger. One problem after another unfortunately.

We had to change rooms twice. The first time, they gave us the laundry room, and then in the second room, the AC didn't work. After that, my keys didn't work, and I had to keep going up and down the elevator until finally they gave me one that worked. I booked the 2 rooms, was there to celebrate my brother's 50th birthday, which did not start off good.

I want to give them a higher review, because once they do the renovations next year, it’s gonna be a fantastic place to stay. Location is great. People are very nice. Staff is very helpful. The restaurant attached has good food. But the condition of the hotel pre-renovation really affected the stay. Not just the dirty carpets in the hallway, which will be changed. I’m sure. But the room itself was not cleaned properly. There was a broken cracker on the floor and some paper. The bathroom floor had something stuck to it and the bathroom curtain had a stain and needed to be changed. which they did happily. And there’s something with the humidity that the air conditioner doesn’t get rid of. The room was so damp that I had to use the dryer for three dollars each time to dry things before I could wear them. So as much as I really want this place to survive, and these people are very nice and the location is amazing, and I know I will stay there again after the renovations. No question at all. But I can’t stay there again until they have the renovations done so it’s hard to give it more than a three star, or OK

There were several things that were wrong with my stay 1st is that there was low water pressure so the toilet wasn’t flushing, but we didn’t want to go through the headache of having to switch rooms so we stayed there was an Internet outage and the plugs in the rooms weren’t working when it comes to plugging in to charge my cell phone mainly using my USB so thank God I had an extra charger so this way my phone’s gonna get charged and of course, there was a front desk experience where the person at the front desk was rude and because it was under my name, when my wife went to check us in because I wanted to unload the car the girl at the front desk gave her a hard time checking us in so it took longer than what it was supposed to what should’ve been easy to check in was a very very unpleasant experience for my wife and when my wife had asked her a question about breakfast she was really rude w/her response. Other than that those experiences whether it’s electrical the toilet, which was caused by what I would feel is low water pressure I would say the staff other than that front desk person of course was really nice. It’s convenient. The pool is amazing by the way and everything is so clean. I definitely want to say at this place again. I would like to revisit if only to see if what happened to me will happen again so would I recommend this place? Yes, if you can tolerate a rude staff member front desk when you check in and everything else without changing rooms then yes

I tried to check in using my phone but wasn’t able to. I called the hotel to let them know I was stuck in traffic and running late. They informed me that if I arrived after hours, I wouldn’t be able to access my room — even though it had been paid for days in advance. I had difficulty understanding the person on the phone, so I asked again for clarification, but they repeated that if I didn’t arrive by a certain time, I would lose the room. Then they hung up on me. I tried calling back multiple times from different numbers, but no one answered. I ended up having to cancel my booking and stay somewhere else. Overall, it was a terrible experience.

I would not recommend this to my family and friends. So disappointed.

This was our very 1st time visiting Corpus. We ending up booking our hotel at the very last minute. That was the worst experience ever. We checked in around 930 pm. The sooner we checked in and took a look at our room it was horrible. The cleanliness of the room and hotel was horrible! We immediately checked out within minutes. Worst experience and should have saw the red flags as soon as we pulled to the hotel.

Great hotel on the beach

This building has not been upkeep in years stains on the carpet. Water stains on the wall. Some places had mold or what appeared to be molded. The staff was not very friendly. Zero accommodations for the elderly. They sold out in food the previous day and did not refill. And they tried to get you with hidden charges. Definitely avoid the spot if possible. Me and my family will not be returning here.

The hotel was right on the beach which was pretty amazing for the price but it was SUPER dingy. The carpet was filthy and a lot of broken stuff but again it was worth the price.

Upon arrival, when I went to the desk, I was greeted by a Friendly Young Lady who was Really Helpful. I had already done the online check in, so my wait was minimal. Our King Suite room was very spacious, balcony with 2 chairs and a Awesome view of the beach and Ocean. The only thing was the vent fan in the bathroom, really noisy but those are a Must, no big deal, close the door. Fridge, microwave, big screen tv, coffee maker, pods. Nice Room, Nice Hotel and We Enjoyed every minute of our stay. Keep up the Great Work, Thanks :)

The building itself was dirty. The corporate and the hall was disgusting. The elevator floor was filthy. The floor beside one of the beds had obviously not been swept. I heard other people walking around the lobby complaining about the filth and there was a lady who brought in pictures of her room, saying how dirty it was. I was very embarrassed to bring my friend here.

We knew this would not be the nicest hotel after reading some prior reviews but it was far worse than we expected. The entire property was dirty and in shambles, areas fixed very poorly, holes in walls, chipped paint and broken fixtures, filthy stained carpet in the hallways. It was a place to sleep but we didn’t really want to spend more time there than that. I could write paragraphs about all of the things that were physically not up to par with base level budget hotels. The check in staff were very rude in the afternoon. The only good part to this hotel was the front desk staff. The moment I walked in I was disgusted, the elevators were filthy and reeked of marijuana, as noted the second my 2 children steeped in and immediately plugged their noses. As we got to our floor, there were half done repairs all over the filthy hallway. Our room smelled like someone had been peeing in it for months, we realized it was coming from the ac unit. Between the disgusting smells and the filth of the whole place we checked out early and thankfully were refunded. I would stay anywhere else.

Rooms can be cleaner, for the price of stay breakfast could be included and parking lot as well. But its really convenient for walking distance, pool with a view on a beach next to a bar.

However, my biggest issue was with the staff. I spoke with two different front desk employees while I was there and both were indifferent to any questions or concerns I had and had no answers. And the BIGGEST issue was the fact that, somehow there was fiberglass on the couch in our room. How it got there, I have no idea. It got on my arm from resting it on the arm of the couch. I know it was fiberglass, because my husband works with it often and recognized the marks it left on my arm. I’m normally pretty chill, honestly didn’t even care too much, EXCEPT that we have a four month old, AND were just trying to help future guests by letting them know. My husband told the manager, to which she looked at him incredulously and did absolutely nothing to remedy the situation. SO unprofessional and definitely not how someone in hospitality MANAGEMENT should respond. Needless to say, we won’t stay here again, and if you want to stay somewhere where the staff actually cares if you enjoy your stay, I would recommend you don’t stay here either. Side note: the restaurant at the hotel is owned separately and is wonderful 😊

I do have a hot water problem in the shower there is none yet the sink 2ft away has plenty and there is a leak that puddles on the floor i am in the second floor so that could create a problem otherwuse i am quite happy with the room.Parking is a bit weird but thats a seperate issue.

The property needs some updating/care. The elevator and carpets along the hallways specifically. The rooms themselves had everything you needed (except towels when we got in), but also feels old and not very nice or updated. The view was incredible. The proximity to the beach was so insanely convenient. Loved the on-site amenities of the pool/hot tub right when you get in from the beach plus a tiki bar and restaurant. There’s a shower station to wash off all the sand. It sounded like there would be some renovating done soon. The bones of the property are very good so I’m going to give it another chance next year and book again and see what updates they’ve made. Staff were all very friendly and helpful!

Beach view was great from the restaurant, bar, and pool/outer deck. Sunrise over the water during breakfast was perfect. Cant be beat. The food was spot on each time. Easy access to a great beach spot. Rooms need renovation which i hear they are getting soon. Had to ask for extra towels. Elevators are TINY and always a line.

Carpets in the main hallways are dirty and stained. The bathrooms are dirty and the fixtures are coming out of the walls. The walls have stains and are dirty

Beach view was awesome! The staff was friendly and helpful. The room and hotel areas were clean. I would stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

The beach view was nice

At check in they gave us a key to an occupied room. After over an hour they cleared it and cleaned the same room and gave it to us. The previous occupant showed up at 11pm. The shower head was broken, reported and never fixed. The sofa bed was stained with no linen. The room was never cleaned nor the towels replaced the 3 days we were there I had to go get my linen and towels from the front desk. Over all it was very stressful when it was supposed to be a relaxing weekend

Not worth it for the price

The inside and outside bars are very well run, and the weekend entertainment is very good.

The elevators are tiny only four people can fit. Check in was 15 minutes. And then there was a line at the elevator. My room was dirty upon check in. I went down to the front desk and they said that they can take off my resort fee. Which was $20 that’s laughable. The “manger” doesn’t seem like she knows what she’s doing and she’s super quiet, and lacks hospitality.. as a hotel manager myself this place was horrible. Would not stay again. Like ever

The Wyndham lost all my support from the moment we walked in the door. At check in, a young lady told us the young man standing next to her could help us. We moved over to the computer area next to her. He never welcomed us, simply started asking us questions. He was unfriendly and rude. When we got to the second floor, the hallway smelt of mildew, the carpets were filthy, wall paper was peeling off the wall. It was the absolutely awful. When we got to our room, it was just uninviting. The room was very cold. The window sill above the air conditioner had black mold on it. We were only staying one night so decided to just deal with it; however when we were trying to sleep a loud dripping sound was keeping us awake. Apparently the air conditioner above us was dripping on the unit outside our room. We were unable to fall asleep so we called the front desk. They were able to move us to another room around 11pm. Again, carpet in hallways were filthy. Coffee maker in room #2 did not work. We will never go back and will let anyone we can know how utterly awful this hotel is. On a positive note, the pool area and hot tub were very nice.

Clean and comfortable but dated. Be aware that there are early check-in fees. Beach view was great and pool looked great. Nice bars on site, inside and out.

I did not like any of it. The parking lot was not nice. The outside of building was dirty and the paint chipped and the wood warped. The rooms were gross. The restroom was not cleaned. There were hairs all over it. The tub was gross and some gross stuff on the wall. There shower vent had mold. The room was dingy. We paid wxtra for ocean view and the glass was dusty and dirty. The chairs outside were rusted as well as the door. The room smelled musty. The hall was dark and grimy. The wall around the elevator was falling apart and patched up poorly. We did not stay, we requested a refund and went to different hotel, we did not even unpack. It was a very stresful start to our vacation.

I was so disappointed with the rooms and the facilities as a whole. The bed rooms were not to the standard of a resort. This location is truly in need of a renovation. The one good thing was the view from the balcony, it was the ocean view. Beautiful sunsets and sunrises.

The location was perfect and the staff were excellent. However, the condition of the facilities have been neglected for years. I expect better facilities for the price of approximately $350 a night!

First of all we didn't stay. As soon as we arrived the front desk says my reservation was cancelled and their fully booked. What??? I spoke with an associate the night before to confirm my stay and that we would pay as soon as we arrived. They said it was fine. This literally ruined our our trip that was made 3 months ahead of time.

The room and beds were very comfortable and well decorated. Not sure the sliding barn door for the bathroom/coffee bar was a good choice. The tub does not have a stopper for taking baths so could be a problem with children. I did like both bars, inside and outside and the restaurant, Anchor Bar and Grill was very good, delicious fried shrimp. Will stay there again!

Great location and staff.

Great location. Not as crowded as Port-A and close to several things to eat. Pet friendly, although pet fees were a little high in my opinion and wish the "pet area" was gated so it was easier for more off leash time. Music at night was relaxing and pool was pretty good. Beach was clean and easy to access. We would stay here again.

The walls are peeling around the elevator doors, no breakfast is offered. Since it’s no longer part of the hotel. I have stayed in way better for a lot cheaper.

Beach balcony was awesome, loved that there was a restaurant downstairs and was within walking distance of the beach.

Sixth floor ceiling was leaking and looked like it was about to cave in from the rain. A lot of work is needed in the hallways of the floors however the rooms were decent

There is no room service everyday. The room is below the average for the price. Only 2 shaky small elevators to serve the entire hotel.

The bad the whole property from pool, elevators, staff kind of winging it because no real direction, dirty bar tables we cleaned ours inside and outside to sit, dirty hallways, dirty carpet, only one stair system and we were on the opposite side of it, and etc. They charged us a resort fee and had bracelets but no one at the pool even had them on and no one checked. The hotel site says free parking which is a lie $10-15 depending on the day and they say use the sign app its not their fault for parking cost. Man the arguments you see when people are checking in, if you come early to checkin they want $80 extra. We usually do Vrbo across the street but had only 2 days so we tried but this place is not for us.

Didn't get the Hot Tub

The pool was closed. And even though our room had already been clean, they told us we could pay $80 just to check in a couple hrs early.

After paying for my reservation a few days ago they took 400 dollars more from my credit card and I asked and no one gives a concrete answer as to why the extra charge since they did it before the accommodation

We appreciate that we were moved to another room due to our room being very humid, with very wet floors & mold or mildew on lamp shades & the grout around tub & sink. Although the new room was so much better, the mirror light & oulet in the bathroom did not work. I hope improvements & repairs will be made soon.

It’s our 3rd time going to exact same location. Beach access is so accessible to get to. Very clean beach, sand so soft , and the water so beautiful and clean. We’re calling our go to get away spot.

The hotel location is great, right on the beach. But there are too many extra fees. Hotel guest must pay for parking and there is a deposit fee that guest must pay, with the knowledge that it will be refunded in 3-5 days after your departure. We had stayed there before and it was not this way, sad.

Over priced and u have to pay for parking after that dirty rooms as well

The only thing was the room was dark & the lights dim, which is annoying in the bathroom getting ready. We'll be back!

Awesome place

This place really shows its age. Wheelchair friendly room really wasn’t. Barely room to get around and height of bed made it very difficult to get on. Beds were more comfortable than other reviews had stated. Loved how close it was to the beach.

The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. We asked twice for it to be filled and it never happened. The carpet in the hallway is filthy and has a bad odor. A trash bin near the elevator was overflowing for the duration of our stay. The restaurant is mediocre.

I paid for a room that was canceled cause I ask for a room that was clean and had a ac that worked I have the whole thing on video and will be uploaded on Tic Tok were I have over 3 million followers since you refuse to give me my refund

All about the location with this property and that its pet friendly. We loved our view and that we are right on the beach. The staff was great and we watched them handle rude guests professionally.

They charge for parking in peak season. Absolutely penny pinching

We had a great time.

This has been the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed in. We stayed for four days and our room was cleaned once. They only made the bed and took the towels that we left on the floor. The room was never swept and trash was neven taken out. The hallway carpet was never vacumed, I know this because there were pieces of trash and even dog food on the carpet the entire time. The sofa in our room was stained and so was the one in the lobby.

Our stay was OK. I’d certainly rate it higher, except for the fact that staff was very limited. Considering that the hotel was sold out, there was only one person at the front desk. This poor girl was overwhelmed and overworked. They should really make an effort to have at least two people at the front desk at any given time. At no fault of her own she dealt with many stressful situations with an abundance of grace.

There was a maxipad

Our room was right above the bar. The live music and loud off-key karaoke went on until 11 p.m. We weren't notified the pool had been drained the weekend prior until the morning we were arriving - for which we were given an $11 discount! Also, late check-in time of 4 p.m. and you pay for parking. They're prioritizing the bar over the beach view and pool amenities for guests, it's even posted on their entrance sign. Restaurant is so-so - you won't get anything exactly as the description on the menu, and staff don't really seem to know why.

The room had a dirty floor, and smelled.The windows were filthy you couldn’t even see outside.The downstairs bathroom was filthy, the urinal was filled with crud around the base The breakfast service was supposed to start at 7am. We went down at 7:06 am chairs were still on top of tables. We asked he asked an employee why the restaurant was not open and he said servers were not available they had not arrived to work.

Room was clean

The room was spacious and nice but yes needs some updates and I was not comfortable that I wasn't able to check in before 4pm after driving hundreds of miles with kids, all we wanted to check in a little early and no they told me I had to wait until 4pm and also the is lots of locals that go use the hot tub and swimming pool. My husband and a couple that were locals started having a weird conversation with us asking too many questions and apparently some local there do not like outsiders. All we wanted is to explore and enjoy the beach.

Food is way overpriced for what you get, the A/C in our room didn’t work well at all, and our bathtub had mold. When calling to verify our reservation, no one would answer the phone. Upon arriving it took an employee 15 min to come to the front desk. The pool was being filled by a water hose the entire time we were there. It became a hazard when the unsupervised kids kept picking it up and spraying others in the face. About 2hrs before check out we received a text stating that we should have received wristbands to enter the pool. No one in the pool area had wrist bands. The outside public apparently was allowed in the pool area which made it a nuisance for us to even enjoy. So overcrowded. Did I mention parking? You have to pay daily, even if you have a room. Normally one parking spot comes with the room but again, the outside public is allowed to park and use the pool. One of the worst hotel stays we have ever stayed.

Needs improvement of the rooms , needs to maintain the cleanliness esp the bathroom ,,floors need to map properly very sticky inside the room , need to change shower curtains. Like the shampoo , and shower gel smells good . Place very accessible to the beach .

The overall property appears unclean and in need of repairs.

I must say that this is our first and last time staying at this hotel. I feel that I paid WAY TOO MUCH for the quality of room and location we stayed in. Upon arriving to our room (419), I noticed that our bathroom was on the verge of falling apart. The shower tub was stained, the soap holders were hanging on by a prayer and the shower itself was about to fall apart. When I went down to report this to the front desk, all I was told was that the hotel was booked solid and they couldn't move me to a different room. The hotel cleanliness was subpar as well. The hallways were dirty and had a foul smell. I also had to go to multiple floors to try to find working ice maker. I understand that the hotel is about to go through renovations but basic maintenance and cleanliness don't need to wait for a renovation. I have attached pictures/ video to support my complaint

Multiple threats about turning stuff in on time or you will be fined. Checking out on time or get fined. Room view was over trash cans and stuff that had been there for months. Room was falling apart. Not what I would expect for 400 plus a night. This hotel is more like a 100 dollars a night.

The staff was very helpful and courteous. Having to pay for parking was a real bummer.

Property is weathered, lights were out in the bedroom, the pocket door is used for the bathroom- so privacy is out of the question. Paint is coming off the walls

The room was never cleaned during our 4 day stay. The comforter was just put over the unmade bedsheets. Never swept the door to the belcony did not close. Very rundown

Unfortunately I cannot provide a good review about this property. Our room was hot. The AC did not work. Had to change rooms at 3AM. I had an ocean view room and they gave me a non ocean view for the same price even though it was smaller, no ocean view and the AC problem was theirs. There was dog poop on the carpet in the hallway right outside the elevator. Elevators weren’t working. Only one and it was very inconvenient to have to wait for over 15 minutes to get back to the room or to come down. Paid parking lot and couldn’t even park on the lot. Had to leave the car on the side of the road where anybody could break into. Paid for parking to NOT use the parking lot. Totally unacceptable. Definitely not a repeat!

This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. Our room looks dirty. The restroom tub is moldy, our floors look like they haven’t been cleaned. The hallway on floor 3 carpet is horrible, there’s stains and a bad smell. When I asked for extra sheets for the sofa bed, they said no one was available. This is a hotel, hospitality should be #1 priority. I would never recommend this hotel.

Very old facily, poorly maintained with many damage in te rooms, hall and elevators. Extremely expensive and this is not a resort as was mentioned in the description.

Surprise ‘resort fee’ at check in and $10 add on for parking. Hotel is decent but seedy, bed linens were clean but spotty. Loved the gulf view.
