The location was nice. Next door to nice restaurants, a man made lake, and art district The whole hotel was filled with a little league and their parents. This was not an issue. However, the staff did not contain those guests. Little preteens were running all over the place, messing with elevators, common areas, etc. These were not your only guests and made those of us who were not part of this huge crowd, feel disrespected and unvalued. We talked with others that felt the same. Room was clean, thanks to your staff. But stains and tears all over the carpet and furniture.

They have a full menu for breakfast and dinner as well as a full bar with appetizers. The outside sitting area is beautiful with a huge higher Creek in the middle. It is a great place just to relax and enjoy your stay.

The Marriott in Costa Mesa was easy to find. Check in was fast. Parking was easy. It is located close to a really large mall with extravagant stores and many dining options. There was a nice seating area outside of the bar with a fireplace adjacent to the pool area.

The hotel was nice and the room was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable, staff was friendly. Good location. The parking was atrocious. The parking structure was detached with a long walk to the lobby. I didn't see an elevator and I had to park on the 3rd floor. Whenever I went to my car, I had to walk up and down the stairs carrying my own bags. I am 71-years old. Not impossible but harder than it should be. There is no valet and I saw only one cart to help with luggage the whole 2 days I was there. I won't be staying there again.

Our stay at Marriott in Costa Mesa was very nice. Two days of relaxation turned into a shopping spree. It’s located walking distance to a fabulous mall and so many restaurant options. I wanted to stay another 4 days just to try all the ones that caught my eye. The staff was very friendly (except for the breakfast waitress who was so meh in contrast to all the other people I encountered there, I supposed she was probably not have a good day and unfortunately let it show but…) the rest of the staff were quick, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Parking is super convenient too. It rained on our second day and the garage saved us from getting wet. Thank you Marriot for a wonderful experience. I’ve already suggested you to a good friend of mine.

Sadly, the room had multiple stains on the carpet and the bench plus we fund some "dog/cat" hair through out. The staff were great, however I'm not sure I'll stay in a dirty room again, specially at rate of $250+ a night.

Staff was pleasant enough, but I wish that they could follow thru as far as keeping my card key active. COULD NOT get into my room/garage/breakfast room on too many occasions!!!! My husband paid for coffee/breakfast multiple time! My room shower on last night there was clogged!! Water almost over flowed, I wonder what tomorrow morning brings. Rug in suite had large stain on it. I couldn’t get a pot of brewed coffee sent up, was told to go down to restaurant and get it myself. So Very disappointed, wish I had stayed at Courtyard by Marriott nearby. Oh, forgot-not even a bottle of water in room.

The rooms were very clean, but not spotless. We had to ask for staff to return to clean 'gum stuck in the carpet', found upon our arrival. For Elite membership status, breakfast was nice to have. Unfortunately at this location, the menu was limited, supplies were limited on some items; get there early or miss out; and felt repetitive; especially for longer term guests. The staff at the front desk were exceptional and passed along deals where appropriate. The housekeeping staff were very attentive and personable. Coming from Canada, I felt very welcomed. The stay was enjoyable. I would choose Marriott again for future considerations.

They all asked what my room number is and I told them, they reassured me they would get it done and every single time that was wrong. The location was central to everything we did and made for a great return spot throughout the day if needed. The only drawback was the parking. While checking in, they asked if we had a car— he said there was a parking garage and he would add access for the garage to our room key. At no point did I consider it to be an additional cost. Probably silly of me, but I expected parking to be included. It wasn’t until the next to last day we paid attention to the sign posted that said it was $42 a night for the garage, which of course prompted us to speak to the front desk. They agreed to remove 3 of the 7 days of charges, but said they could not agree to any more of a discount. My primary concern with this is hypothetical… but had I known, had I opted to not be charged for the garage, where would I have parked my car? No street parking near, no access to any other parking garage… it left us feeling a bit disappointed. It didn’t ruin the hotel or the stay, but I would much rather have been made aware upon arrival & check-in. Deciding to ask out of curiosity is all that saved us $126. Overall, great hotel, wonderful staff.

I had a great experience this weekend at the Marriott Costa Mesa. I was greeted by a friendly young woman at check-in who was working hard to make sure every guest felt taken care of. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and cleaned daily. The location is perfect—close to everything, including Newport Beach, great restaurants, and plenty of shopping. I would definitely visit again!

It lacked many amenities such as a shower cap, Q-Tips, vanity kits, and so forth. Also, the parking cost at $42.00 per day was high. Altogether, as my rating suggested, the place was OK.

Staff was friendly and check-in was quick. Not a bad place to stay. I recommend keeping a keycard to exit out of the parking garage as there is also a box to drop off your keycard on the ticket machine at the exit.

Great hotel and friendly staff, but no house cleaning for our 2 day stay. Clean towels shouldn’t take a phone call, especially with $40+/day parking fees.

Check was seamless as was the check out. Other than a few ants that were attracted to unsealed food/snacks, the property, rooms, and customer service exceeded expectations. We'll be back to stay again when in the area to see more shows and performances nearby. Many thanks 🙏.

42 usd for parking is excessive: other hotels in same area include it for free for a competitive price. A room for 4 people is not quite recommended: The sofa bed is not confortable, and the the king bed was not CA king size, it looked more like a queen size.. Everything else is good: clean room, great shower. The incident of the beeping CO2 alarm was quickly fixed. The elevator stopped working (probably because some guys entered with electric bikes) but they gave us access to an alternate backdoor employee elevator. We tried asking for extra sheets but no one responded the phone in reception, maybe because they were busy fixing the elevator..

The property was great but I’ve never stayed in a room so small at a hotel. The description also stated that it was a suite but the room size was far from that.. also the room that I reserved stated it would be a king bed and a pullout bed but when we arrived the staff told me that they only had a room with a twin bed and a pull out bed. I was there with my mom, brother and brother-in-law and their baby so I asked the front desk if they could accommodate us in any way and they were of no help

He explained the benefits in more detail and made us feel important. He has one of the best customer service skills we have seen in a long time. I’ve stayed at the property a few times but this time my first room was very dates. The bathtub was chipped terribly. They moved me to room 533. Great view of the pool but it was dirty as well. Water stains on the desks. Hair in the shower. Something got missed here!

Honestly the worst experience I have ever had! I already booked and paid for this trip I’m advance with Expedia. When I checked in at the hotel I was charged $1,083 because they didn’t pay attention that I already had the booking with Expedia, they weren’t able to refund my money so now I have to wait for my bank to dispute the charge. 4 days later we are checking out and the hotel charges me another $761 on top of the $1083 they already “accidentally” charged me! So all together this hotel mistakenly charged me $1,844!!! That is absolutely insane! The hotel said they were unable to stop the charges and I just had to call my bank, so now I have to wait 10 business days to get my money back. I’m just so blown away how I accidentally get charged all this money. It has been the worst experience ever!! I wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel to anyone.

A permanent morning coffee station was conspicuous in its absence at such a nice hotel.

I had a really great day at this hotel. I felt like the customer service/front desk staff was really helpful and accommodating. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. No complaints I would definitely stay there again. Actually one complaint, the parking prices are outrageous at $42 a day. Thankfully I got a good deal on the hotel or I would’ve been pretty annoyed.

The only thing, I didn’t like is the parking charge $39

Property location is perfect for all things OC. A lot nicer than the hotel circle a mile or two away. Not many places to eat in the area but that's not this hotels fault. Beautiful new OCMA Art museum across the street. Beautiful grass area right outside the hotel that has a small lake shared with the nearby condos and hotels. Moments when you can sense this is/was an older hotel, so it's impressive how modern, clean, and upscale they've managed to keep it. Only thing I would change is the lack of there being like a snack market/pantry thing inside the hotel lobby instead of fancy restaurant. Elevators make you walk by the bar too often, dont want to say hi every time i pass lol. Wish there was ANYTHING vegan/vegetarian on restaurant menu. Also, the main room inside my room, the room with the bed, had not a single outlet inside it, no possible way i could have my phone charging while sleeping next to it. I almost thought I was going crazy trying to find one, so I had to extend my phone on a few different chargers coming from living room area just because I was so scared of not hearing my alarm go off. Even whatever outlets were used for tv/lights were like tucked away and unusable. I'd stay here every trip if price cheaper.

This is a lovely hotel, convenient to the 405, South Coast Plaza, and Irvine. The staff is friendly and professional. The grounds are beautiful- lake on the back side of the hotel. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Annie Myazoe was wonderful, she helped us check in, it was easy and seamless! She was very nice and hospitable, always has a smile and answered all questions we had. She’s very knowledgeable. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Clean fast check in

The property was very nice and clean, but the fan from the air was loud and kept me awake most of the night. I finally just opened the window and turned it off, but then the garbage truck came and made rounds picking up the large bins. Needless to say, I woke up exhausted. The most disappointing part was the fee that was charged for me to bring my dog, it was $150 for one night, more than the entire cost of the room. I guess I missed that somewhere on Expedia when I made the reservation. I saw the hotel was pet friendly, but I had no idea it would cost more than a night at the hotel to bring my dog. We were in the room all of about 10 hours, so that was $15/hour for my dog to stay with me. The hotel was otherwise very nice and staff friendly.

Our stay was wonderful. Our room was big and clean. The gym had various options for workouts. Staff is super friendly and very helpful. Differently making this Marriott our go to hotel. Is was an amazing weekend.

Started off getting a room that wasnt cleaned. Then they only had one elevator working . But talking to other people it has hasnt been working for awhile (a year) . So the line to use it was very long more than 40 mins to go up.

The only negative thing is the parking $39 to park your car overnight is ridiculous but other than that I really enjoyed my stay and I will definitely come back.

Terrible experience overall honestly. There was leftover food from another stay in our fridge that wasn’t ours. I called front desk no answer. I had to walk down to ask front desk to send someone up to clean it up and wipe it down. Water and Ac wasn’t working both stuck on hot. Just overall bad experience

So so clean! I’m immunocompromised and was staying their because my home is currently inhabitable and got deathly sick from it and have been in 5 hotels in the last 3 weeks and it was a breath of fresh air seeing how clean it was so I didn’t have to overly sanitize like I did at other places. Thank you Marriott!

Everything about the property was great just not the broken elevator and the parking. Garage door wasn’t working a couple times and one of the elevators wasn’t working. Check in and checking out was horrible since everyone was trying to get to their destination with only one elevator available.

parking expensive

The King suite was very convenient when traveling with kids. The hotel was a decent size and extremely quiet even though it was busy. Parking is a bit tricky with a larger vehicle, but the hotel was accommodating and offered an alternative. The only downside was that only 1 elevator was in working order and the TV in our bedroom didn’t work during our stay. Overall, it was a convenient hotel perfect distance from the beach and Angel stadium.

Atmosphere was very nice! The M club and evening Bartender was friendly and accommodating and had great customer service - made us feel welcomed evening the late evening e were still there with friends. Room was clean however the room smelled like smoke although it was a nonnsmoking room was my only complaint. Otherwise this would have been a 4 star rating.

I stayed on the third floor and I had trouble breathing and my allergies were horrible. We turned off the air conditioner which slightly helped but will never stay there again. Came home with a sinus infection.

Loved the water feature behind the property and the bar area was fun

Everything was a short driving distance from the hotel. Perfect place to stay if you're going to attend any of the theaters in the area.

Nice quiet rooms

Had a nice stay. But had some very poor customer service at the guest desk by CHRIS. He was very rude, unwelcoming, and most importantly, unprofessional. Please be aware of the types of employees that are employed, as this made my experience enjoyable from the very beginning.

Loved our stay at this hotel! The staff were very accommodating and the room and hotel were very clean. The room we had reserved with a king bed and pool view was not available when we checked in and the front desk associate waived our parking fee and gave us late check out! Would recommend this hotel to friends and family!

Great stay and great staff!

This hotel is excellent with beautifully appointed rooms. Those with views of the pool are superb. Checkin was easy and the associate at the desk was great. My only complaint is that breakfast was a mess. The staff looked overwhelmed by all the people and kids and were unorganized. I get a menu myself, and even after that no one came to take my order, so I decided to leave.

Charge for everything, not even coffee included. Nice place that nickels and dimes for everything.

2. short black hair filled on the wash cloth 3. golden hair found near the coffee pot 4. No one took my order in the dinning area (9pm ish, front desk said it's closed at 10pm) It should be a good stay with large room and new facility. However, I was quite disappointed and don't think this is what Marriott should be doing.

Second day, we asked for toothbrushes and they couldn’t bring them up for because staff was in a meeting so we asked if we can go down to get them. Waited 15 minutes for them to come back after looking for toothbrushes saying they were out.

We loved the room and the view, but parking and breakfast were extra and way more expensive than anticipated.

Two main things that really irked me. First the surprise of having to pay an additional $40+tax for parking. When you look at hotel prices and they already have a ton of stupid fees and you are expecting to pay a certain amount, getting hit with an additional $50 just to park is terrible and annoying. Tell people before they book …. Secondly the gym is in bad shape. Several pieces of equipment are broken and worn and the benches are super wobbly. Maybe invest some of your parking money into the gym so they can vent their $50 frustration.

It was very nice place and quiet. Close to the shopping Mall. Tons of great restaurants and Starbucks. Nice neighborhood area walking distance to Sergerstrom Hall. I enjoyed my stay there and I will stay there again.

The stay was absolutely wonderful. The check in process was quick and had no problems. Rachel was amazing with making accommodations for us. The room was clean, the bed was super comfortable and the balcony is the icing on the cake. It was a romantic and relaxing Valentine’s weekend!

My son used the hide-away bed and consequently got sever hives afterwards. He never gets hives. This experience dampened our trip.

I also don’t understand why the fee in my booking and what i paid is not same amount in the receipt and take out from my account ??

Beautiful, up to date, and clean property.

Overall, I had a great trip. However there were a few things that did make me upset. First of all, Expedia never mentions that the room you reserve isn’t guaranteed nor is the view. So if you pay an extra 50$ per night on a room, you’re throwing it out the window. Secondly, the hotels parking doesn’t accommodate vehicles under 6’2”…I have a large pickup truck. Luckily the hotel had me park at the 15 min parking spots but charged me the $40 parking fee anyway even though I never used the structure which they charge the money for. With all this being said, I am never getting a hotel through Expedia again.

Overall, seamless experience

They literally changed my room 3 times. Had a king bed kept on giving us two twins. Wasted 3 hours of our time after a long drive at night. Room had more than 10 bugs including in bed and all over the room. Complained and they said we cant do anything because I got the room through Expedia. Horrible service and nasty rooms
