Everything was great. The only thing was the bed wasn’t as good as the description said it was.

Our second time staying here and it’s a really great hotel to stay in with dogs. The surrounding area is clean, well maintained and safe. The hotel itself is very clean, the staff are super friendly and their amenities are excellent. It’ll always be our go to hotel for our trips to Newport/Costa Mesa.

The facilities are very old and worn-out, and the front desk staff were rigid and completely lacked any service-oriented mindset. I definitely won't choose this place again.

Hotel is a bit outdated, my room had a little bit of a cigar smell, and our tv remote never worked. It’s an ok place to stay for business or a quick place to stay but didn’t really fulfill the quality standards of a “Westin” for me.

The entire staff was so friendly and welcoming, from the front desk to restaurant servers. I had a lovely, spacious room that was well maintained and nicely decorated. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. Great location near shopping and the airport. Wish they offered a shuttle! That would be my only suggestion.

The valet parking rate is normal and they are so nice and helpful. The reception guys are amazing so nice. The rooms are big , breakfast is very good. So nice to sit outside and hear the water.

Our room, right next to the Utility room. Ugh. Don't ever let the hotel put you in room #1429. You get to listen to every maid's cart roll out of the room next to you. So noisy.

The room was clean. The bar staff were efficient. The valet parking staff were just awesome. The valets were competent, efficient and friendly. It was a cold rainy day and they were helpful and polite. My hotel experience was outstanding and it started with the parking valets.

The parking across the street was not ideal. I believe there should be more signage about available valet at the entrance. It was raining when I had to walk from my car to the entrance

Very nice. Comfortable room. We didn't see much of the hotel as we were busy and didn't have time. The biggest issue we had was PARKING! Not a good situation. We paid $45 for parking - which was quite a ways from entrance (at least we couldn't find an easy way to access). Then no one at hotel told us we needed to keep our room card to leave the parking (after checkout) so we were stuck paying $20 more!!! $65 for parking because no one told us how to manage this?! I think this much for parking is awful anyway, but the extra amount was unfair.

Check in was long clerks not friendly. I booked hotel room online with tub was given room next to loud noise of machinery. At 9:00 pm !call desk said she would sent up someone? I I asked for another room. Very inconvenient! Next room no tub old linens . Will not return!

I last stayed here on January 14, 2023. I thoroughly enjoyed it then and this time was even greater. All services took very little waiting time and were first class. I will be back!

Readily available amenities.

The property itself was clean and what you would expect for a Westin. The rooms however are not very noise proof, all sound transmits and is disruptive in the morning. Besides this there are not enough staff to check in and out hotel guests; only one person which can lead to wait times. Do not charge anything to your room as items are not charged correctly and then the reception will say they lost your check and don't show you an itemized list of what you actually consumed. Double check all records as on two occasions we were overcharged for incorrect items.

GREAT staff. House keeping services provided at this establishment are at a very high level that you don’t see much these days.

We returned to our room after a night out with friends to find it filled with marijuana smoke. It was so thick and horrible.we called front desk to complain they said they would look into it. We were both sick to our stomach’s all night due to the smell. Horrible weekend getaway.

I had an issue with the charges. First $125 when I got in for damages and they is understandable to cover their end. The next day I got charged for $180.17 but when i went to check to see what the charge was for the staff said they didn’t know and it’s an auto charge. The data I checked out and left I got another charge for $125 but I already checked out. Now I have to wait to get my money. So odd.

Great stay during for the Fourth of July weekend. We can see fireworks in our window and easy access to Costa Mesa shopping center.

Over-priced for the level of service and comfort received. Left a pair of designer shoes on the room, called to ask and was told they never found any.

We have stayed here many times and will continue to come back. Excellent service, clean, convenient, right by the mall and freeway.

We really enjoyed our one night hotel stay at the Westin South Coast Plaza. We love the convenient location to shopping and restaurants and other attractions in the Costa Mesa area. We will consider dislocation for future business and vacation stays.

Also, it was so empty. Hardly any cars there, so doesn’t seem to be a nuisance to park. I usually choose a hotel with parking in mind…they got me on this one. Great rate for the hotel - not so much for the parking.

We had an amazing time, the staff is great and the food was delicious.

We liked the location. We asked to go from level 3 to level 7. What a big difference in the view and we enjoyed it immensely. I loved the softness of the bed. The only thing that was disappointing was the parking. It was not on the property and we had to park in a parking structure across the street. Walking back and forth spoiled the stay for me.

Service is polished and professional — though at times the front desk can feel a bit understaffed during peak check-in hours. Amenities like the outdoor pool, fitness center, and business services are well-maintained. On-site dining is solid, though many top-tier restaurants are just a short walk away. A reliable, upscale option for both business and leisure stays in Orange County.

I enjoyed staying at the Costa Mesa Westin five star experience the properties clean the waterfall is beautiful. The grounds are real cut. The gym was easy to access with all working equipment. Definitely will stay here again.

The front desk personal was very rude on my check in. I did not appreciate the way he spoke to me on the entrance to the hotel .

Not the same Westin I appreciated during a previous stay. I requested a higher floor so my husband can enjoy the view of city since we were staying 8 nights. He was from Italy and this was his first visit to California. The gal who checked us in seemed new, inexperienced with no personality. Probably didn’t care. We were placed on the 6th floor. She could have been more welcoming. The backing to the bathroom mirror was peeling making the room more dated than it was. It took awhile to realize it wasn’t a cold I had but, the AC filter making me cough. It needed to be changed. I told the desk at check out. Check out was complete different. The employee was professional, experienced and seemed comfortable dealing with clientele. It was the old Westin personality I came back for.

Very nice hotel. We stayed for a conference and everyone from the door to the desk staff were great. An extra special acknowledgment goes to the food and beverage staff who took excellent care of our large group over several days.

Had what I needed.

Hotel staff are very kind. However what an experience!! Booked 3 months in advance. Double queen beds. Just few days before our arrival we get an email saying they CANT accommodate two beds. As they have the priority to a travel agent!! 2 kids two adults try and fit in a king bed?! Promised roller beds…but no one delivered. Called and I was promised it will be in my room. Took my personal blanket and I had to sleep on the floor so that my kids sleep comfy before their basketball tournaments.

This room had no closet to hang my jacket. Considering the price I paid for, disposable slippers need to be offered.

We stayed for the weekend since my son had a volleyball tournament in Seal Beach. We love this place. It is very clean and the beds and comforters are so cozy. Valet parking is great and very fast.

Great location, just a block from the south coast shopping area. Nice staffs, offer pretty of bottle water. Overnight parking is $45 per day which is bit expensive.

Stay was comfortable with my family and kids. I feel like I could be getting a better value for my money. The restaurant was nickle and diming on breakfast with breakfast vouchers valued at half the price of the actual entrees.

I’ve stayed here about three times and I love it every time! Very consistent on cleanliness and the staff is on point. I also love that it’s so close to the mall and easy walking.

I had a horrific morning because I became very ill and could not cancel this reservation even after buying trip insurance… hotel policy?? I asked to speak to management and was denied. I asked if I could change for a future date . Answer No. I’m surprised because I used to love Westin Hotels. Since its takeover by Marriott it has changed for the worse on management. I could have gone and stayed exposing everyone to my germs and illness. I just don’t have the energy to fight, since I’m so ill, and I think they depend on this. I’m beyond disappointed about their policies. I have gotten antibiotics and medical care but I won’t use them as my first choice ever again.
