Staff was amazing, especially Nadia, who was friendly and very helpful. Very convenient location if exploring UC Davis. There was a loud HVAC noise throughout our stay, and the breakfast was not the best (scrambled eggs and oatmeal were both dry and did not seem fresh at 8 am, and were the only hot items on offer).

My son & I were touring UC Davis & the staff was so helpful when we had questions. It got really busy on admitted student morning during breakfast & the staff was working very hard to keep up & stayed kind through all of it. Would def stay here again.

The refrigerator did not work. There was a puddle of water under it in the cabinet. They charge $17 per day to park which was not told to us until we arrived.

Clean room, ample parking. Female receptionist not friendly on phone, ignored oncoming guests. Friendly male receptionist arrived and apologized and assisted with check in. Overall stay was restful.

Breakfast wasnt not what they said is going to be not enough of food we have to wait for everything on the menu which was very poor plus we ask for extra pillows and they have told us they going to bring them to the room and never bring them. For the $ price it doesn’t worth it . They care more of the fancy than quality and quantity of food.

Stayed one night, had to call front desk multiple times about the noise in the room above us that was ridiculous, kids running around, shouting until 1am. Breakfast was awful, no hot water, coffee or maple syrup for the miserable pancakes! Train noise at 6am. Have stayed multiple times over the years but his will be our last.

The bathtub faucet in our room was leaky. The rest of the room was fine. Pool was small but good for the kids. Location was excellent, and staff were friendly.

Both the employees and the facilities were excellent. A little bonus was seeing turkeys wander through daily. I wasn't there for a pleasant trip but it was made easier by the kindness of everyone I dealt with.

Old and so dirty it’s disgusting rooms need a major upgrade and cleaning. The carpets are like 60years old and never cleaned and it smells like old and damp, but the staff is so kind and the breakfast was okay

The location was very convenient. It was on the UC Favis campus and it was easy to walk downtown, including to the farmer's market. The service was average and there wasn't enough attention to detail. There were no bowls for the oatmeal and when I asked about them the staff person didn't seem to know where they were. I asked a second person after the first person left to look for them and received one bowl that looked dirty. The next day was better and I noticed they had stocked disposable bowls on the shelves.There was also no housekeeping unless requested which was disappointing. In addition, there is a pool but no hot tub.

Wild turkeys roaming the grounds were a definite highlight.

Also, when we checked in no water bottles were offered and finally the check in didn’t happen until after 3pm because there wasn’t there enough housekeepers.

We went to UC Davis for a tour and we absolutely loved the location of this hotel. We arrived a little early and hoped to get our room but the receptionist was the kindest, so when she said “we don’t have rooms available yet” with an attitude didn’t seem honest.. but it’s ok. The room was perfect and location was the best!

I had a hard time getting on the internet, but otherwise, it was a good experience.

The first room we check into had not been cleaned, so they put us in a different room. The second room had a large hole in the bathroom wall and cracked floor tiles. Since it was only one night, and I just wanted to be in a room, I didn't say anything. I got a call from the front desk at about 930 PM, as we were going to bed, offering us an upgrade due to the "maintenance issue" in our room that we didn't complain about. I declined the offer. A few minutes later the front desk called again telling us that we had to move to a different room because the issue was a liability. So, at 930 at night as we wanted to go to bed, we had to pack up our stuff and relocate.

the first room we were assigned(223) had masking tape and a big hole in the wall behind the toilet. we were moved to 232, and the bathroom the next morning had a strong gas-like fume. I had to send my family downstairs to use the bathroom because I didn't want anyone getting sick.

getting in touch with a human is near impossible if you need to reach someone AFTER your reservation has been made. it's all AI and takes alot of navigation to reach someone just to make a simple note to your account like "hey i'm checking in later than i expected".

It was overall a decent experience. The room could be a bit updated, the tile was loose in the bathroom and the lighting fixtures were pretty dusty. The room was very spacious and had a nice view. It could have been more thoroughly cleaned. The breakfast was meh but wasn’t awful. Overall a solid experience and decent for the price.

The original room hadn’t been cleaned when I checked in, which was unfortunate because I preferred the king bed. But overall the room was fine and comfortable while within walking distance of campus.

I stayed at the Hyatt Place UC Davis from March 7–8 and was very disappointed. I booked a room through Hotels.com for two queen beds for four adults, but when we arrived we were given a room with only one king bed. We were told the double-queen rooms had been given away and that there was no one who could assist us that night. After a long day of traveling, we had no choice but to stay and make it work. To make matters worse, the carpets and walls in the room were dirty, which made the stay even more disappointing. Very frustrating experience.

There was a mix-up in my reservations with Expedia (not Hyatt's fault). Instead of honoring the discounted rate, I was charged full price, significantly higher. It would have been nice if they had asked me if I qualified for any other discounts (AARP, AAA, veteran's discount, etc.). They did, however, grant me free parking (normally $17.50 per night). I'm not sure if that was already included in Expedia's package.

Overall, a convenient place to stay when visiting UC Davis. Clean, but carpet was stained. No microwave in room, but can ask to use one in breakfast area. Mattress and pillows could use updating. Train tracks nearby, so can hear the trains.

I travel weekly for work and the staff at this hotel is exceptional. Front desk, Housekeeping, etc. Me and my family really enjoyed our time here.

Tired older hotel. Door to room didn't align with the frame and you could see into the room from the corridor. Looked like there was multiple break in attempts on the room previously.

Housekeeping is by request only, but this was not made clear. We discussed with front desk, and their only response was that they were having staffing issues. Most importantly they overbooked the hotel, so my daughter did not get her reserved room (also booked through hotels.com), had to find another hotel when she arrived at 10pm.

They overcharge for the dog fee (100.00/night) something awful and on top of that, there is a 17.00 parking fee surprise to boot. Since the water was off, I asked for the dog fee to be waived. Location was great and room was quiet, we spent 4 nights. The beds and linens were comfortable. The shower drained very slowly. After 1 shower the water was a few inches deep and took about 15 minutes to drain completely. Maybe get a plumber to clear drain. Breakfast was not great- waited for eggs, scrambled or hard boiled for 30 minutes, one morning. Waited for the yogurt bowl to be refilled. No choice of yogurts, one flavor. Only milk and half and half for coffee, no flavored creamers or syrups. No muffins or pastries just bread. Sliced potatoes, sausage, pancakes were options provided on some days. Salsa was provided but the sign showing where tortillas should be was empty. The gym was ok, kind of small. They had one very old, deteriorating floor mat for stretching. Need to throw it away, and get a rack with a couple of nice mats for guests, as well as get a fan for ventilation. Screws on elliptical need to be tightened. The main bathroom on the ground floor was very stuffy and a bit smelly. It needs an improved ventilation system and/or cleaning. The cleaning person cleaned on the second day, but did not provide another roll of TP-we needed to ask. The walking paths near the hotel on the UCDavis campus were beautiful. Overall, I would probably choose another hotel in this area next time because we spent a lot of money buying our own breakfasts and coffee, and paying for parking at the hotel, so the nice location is not enough with the amount of extra money we spent.

Gym Elliptical needs to be fixed and something to clean the machines and weights is needed. I had ants in my room as soon as i brought in fruit and left it near the sink. Complimentary lotion felt half used already. Desk lamp bulb was out.

Room is very spacious. There’s a lounge area with a big couch. Big grass area and trails in the back for your pets. Could use bigger pillows. There was a stain on the floor, otherwise the room was clean. Also, the WiFi stopped working the next day. You also have to pay $17/day for parking which is a little high compared to other hotels.

Entirely s a reaction to your care for accessibility. You put us in a room furthest from the elevator. We are 79 years old and arrived at the end of our day. And the room was not accessible. The bathroom in particular. No grab bars around the toilet was major. It was a real breaker.. in comparison. The hotel we stayed in was a breeze! Your staf was very sweet and helpful, though they had no power to help us.to stay there. They spent a long time trying to find something that would work. Thank you for giving us a refund. That does help!

No bar, no shower holder so sprayer was hitting me at the hip (had to bend down or sit to rinse hair), staff very nice, clean place, breakfast was cold and limited.

The room sprung a ceiling leak so we were moved to another room but contrary to the staff our things were not moved. We moved them ourselves later in the evening. Breakfast was mediocre at best.

The front desk staff was welcoming and the check in was quick. The room was clean and spacious. The grounds are well kept. Breakfast was very good for a typical “breakfast included” stay. The spread included sausage patties, scrambled eggs, a variety of cold and hot cereals, fresh fruit, tortillas and varieties of breads, boiled eggs, pancakes, fruit juice, coffee and tea. Some snacks, cold drinks, salads and wine were available for purchase.

Staff great, but Hyatt is understaffing/underpaying to increase the bottom line; overpriced room; expensive overnight parking fee; fix-ups needed on deferred maintenance, hence the rating. Property very convenient to UCDavis and town of Davis.

The room I ordered online was not available so they upgraded me to a suite and I only paid $40 more and I got free parking for our inconvenience which we didn’t ask for. Super nice and understanding staff. I would recommend this to family and friends

Room needs updating. We got locked out of our bathroom for several hours the first morning because staff said sometimes it sticks if the lock button is pressed too hard. Had to use bathroom down on 1st floor and delayed showering and getting ready for the day until it got fixed. Breakfast was sub-par compared with other free hotel breakfasts.

I have been at this Hyatt a month ago and here it is the reason why I am giving average and not 5 as previously: 1/ fee for parking; 2/ at arrival (Sat evening), there were empty cups and chip bags on tables/floor by the door' 3/breakfast time: there was no staff attending the breakfast area (bin for collecting used dishes was full and almost no space to put glasses; spill of milk on the floor, etc.). I was a bit disappointed as we always try to stay on Hyatt hotels.

Rooms were dirty with stained carpets old food containers in the refrigerator bathroom sink didn’t drain, limited staff for working really hard, but stretched way too thin. We will not return.

The Hyatt Place in Davis is a clean, modern, and very comfortable hotel. The rooms are spacious, the amenities are great, and the bed was one of the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in. Unfortunately, at around 5 a.m. on Sunday morning, a train stopped right across the street from the hotel and spent nearly an hour moving back and forth, making a lot of noise. I couldn’t get back to sleep afterward. It’s a great place overall, but the hotel really needs better soundproof windows to block out the train noise.

The room was spacious and clean and very comfortable! We slept really well in the king bed, and had plenty of room to move about the room and not be on top of each other. The breakfast was delicious and really nice - lots of options including gluten free bread which I have literally never seen at a hotel breakfast before. I would definitely stay here again!

Took 3-4 minutes to get hot water. At a Hyatt? Took 10-15 minutes to get elevator from 4th floor. Something seriously wrong with design of this hotel.

The staff was just okay. The person that checked us in was friendly and efficient. But the lady that checked us out was rather rude. She saw me waiting at the front desk, but just ignored me and continued to wipe the table in the breakfast area. She could have acknowledged me and let me know that she’d be there soon. I didn’t mind waiting, but it was the fact that she didn’t even say anything to me even after we made eye contact. The hotel and room were clean enough, but not exceptionally clean. The white blankets both had some stains on them. The beds were comfortable but the AC unit was unpredictable. The old thermostat said Error so we knew we had to control it from the unit in front of the window. It got so cold in the room, we had to turn it off. But the room continued to be very cold. And there was a draft coming from the area with the couch. The free breakfast was mediocre. Nothing stood out. The only really nice thing about the hotel was the location. Being a 3 minute walk from UC Davis’ Welcome Center made it so convenient. I would stay here again if I needed to visit a student at UC Davis.

It’s a convenient location if you are visiting UC Davis since it is right on campus. They charge extra for parking, which was not clear when you book the reservation. Breakfast buffet was just ok. I would only stay there again because of the location. I did not think the quality of the hotel justified the price.

The bed was high and so comfortable! The people working there are so helpful and friendly. The first day I asked if there was hot chocolate . I was told no but I can make you one with chocolate syrup that we have. So sweet she made me one and was so nice. I didn’t get her name. She was blonde with medium length hair. The next day I asked again if you have hot chocolate a staff member made me a hot chocolate She is a senior at UC Davis. Outstanding, courteous, and thoughtful Staff. It was a very enjoyable stay!!!! A microwave oven would have useful.

We could walk to UC Davis, my granddaughter is starting there this fall and it was very easy to get to her dorm. It was very convenient to stay at this clean and safe hotel.

Staff was friendly but they were constantly running around trying to make things right. Breakfasts were real disappointing. Had to constantly ask for simple basic Breakfast items like butter, bread, milk and... trash bins were filled with garbage. Tables were dirty and nobody seemed care to clean the common breakast serving tables. Eggs, sausages, friuts you name it was on the floor ... looked like a messy dog had feasted there and left. Disappointing experience.

The thresh hold of the shower was kind of high and it was sharp metal edged. I cut my toe on it first time I entered the shower.

The property was quiet and had a safe feeling about it, and was in a convenient location for what we needed to get done at UC Davis.

The complimentary breakfast is as terrible. The eggs were cold and soupy, the home potatoes were mushy, the bread was stale and the fruit not good. The walls in he took very thin and the paint job in the room was very bad.

Overall it was a great place to stay. Having our pet with us and places on the property for her to use the restroom was a great deal to us. I will definitely stay there again in the future.

The staff are very nice, especially Mama Elaine, who is a ray of sunshine in the morning breakfast room. The rooms are clean and comfortable and very convenient to the Manetti Shrem Art Museum and Mondavi theater.

If you are visiting UC Davis, this is the perfect place to stay. The front desk staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was spacious with a desk and plenty of storage. I highly recommend it!

I booked a room with 2 Queen Beds and was not made aware that there were none left/available until I was checking in at the front desk and left with no choice but to accept what they offered. They also did not provide any room cleaning service during our stay.

It was crazy loud doors slamming and the room right above us was super loud till about midnight. I will definitely find a different place to stay while I’m in Davis next year.

Clean and friendly staff

Our stay didn't get off to a great start: No breakfast the first morning as they ran out about an hour early. Subsequent days were fully stocked but lipstick on the coffee mugs & dirty silverware. The bathroom door lock was faulty and we got locked out- called front desk in the am but at 9:00 pm when we returned it was still locked. Front desk was able to open it at that time. Lastly, towel service is supposed to come every other day but they missed us and we ran out of tp, kleenex & dry towels. If they had any towel racks in the bathroom it would be easier to reuse towels between replacements but there is no place to hang towels to dry. Staff were all vey pleasant, ready and willing to fix problems but some of these things just seem like basic service.

The shower curtain liner needs to be cleaned or changed out… it was disgusting… soap scum, “pink” mold … obvious that it has it been cleaned or changed in months!

Cons: The breakfast could have been a bit better. Many items were not stocked an hour before it closed and were not replenished promptly. Example: there was no oatmeal out although the condiments were beside it and there was a tortilla warmer empty. The berries with the yogurt were still mostly frozen.

No one at the front desk when we arrived. Hotel is near train tracks and train noise may be an issue for some guests. Breakfast service was poor - lack of utensils, poorly stocked food. Hotel is essentially on UC Davis campus so very convenient for university related activities.

Disappointed that there was not enough food left for breakfast when we arrived at 9am. Attending a soccer tournament later that day - it was important for us to have a solid breakfast that day and booked this hotel because it offered breakfast.

Before classes resumed this was a very quiet place to stay…less than a mile to downtown Davis

Good dog friendly area, just bummed I couldn't get the free breakfast because I wasn't allowed with my dog, but everywhere else was fine

Nice room

Property was a bit worn. Beds were comfy. Breakfast ran out but was eventually replenished.

Would give 5 stars but some of the front desk employees were not friendly enough, we all work and we all have bad days sometimes but this 2 day time employees were rude and zero effort to do good customer service not just on day one but several days and every time the guest asked for assistance. The rest of my visit was very pleasant and had an excellent service from the night/ Sunday employees. Thank you!

The air conditioning had been turned off before I got to the room. I turned it on immediately, but it had a fixed temperature. The room was so warm that I was sweating profusely all night and couldn’t sleep. I checked out a day early - even though I had paid for the second night

The university parking fee was unfortunate but everything else was exactly what it needed to be

The bad - shower was in need of repair. Missing grout and overall cleanliness . The hair dryer- useless , no power to dry hair The hard boiled egg was good at breakfast

Great stay!

Lovely stay for our daughter's graduation from UC Davis. Staff was very helpful and gracious. Hotel was convenient to daughter's apartment. Room was spacious, clean, and relaxing.

Bath fan too noisy and toilet too low for older people.

at 11 pm we thought a train was heading right into our room! I think windows are not well sound proof.

Room size are great. Breakfast was ok but not great.

All hours of the night and even most of the morning until Checkout. Nothing was done when i called to complain and while the hotel is wonderful ….. this was truly awful i should have slept in my car.

Noisy AC made sleeping challenging, although the beds were comfortable. Missing grout in bathroom floor tiles and worn out areas in the carpet calls out for a serious room update. Decent free breakfast and hot drink options. The rooms are spacious and having a large sofa sleeper is a great addition when traveling as a family. Will stay again, because of the convenience to UC Davis campus.

Bathroom had mold.

Accommodations were excellent, loved having the separate seating area. Breakfast was just ok. The pool always seemed to be closed for maintenance so wouldn’t count on the use of that.

Room not cleaned daily, unsure if this is protocol until check out. Overall enjoyed stay.

I like how convenient and walkable Hyatt Place is to campus. It’s usually very quiet (this time it seemed full and busy) and safe. The room was great and on the first floor facing the front parking lot, which is my favorite area to get a room. I’m not a fan of how expensive parking is ($17 a day!?) and there was a bad smell coming up from the drain in the shower, so that probably needs to be looked at. Otherwise, everything else was great!

Rooms and specifically bathrooms need updating. Noise from upper floor bad, would not stay here again.

Great location, great staff

Room was not clean. Pulled out the sofa bed and could use it due to food crumbs on it. Shower tub didnt drain, and restroom floor tiles were cracked causing the grout to chip and lift. The room had no ventilation, it smelled bad. Mentioned it all at check out and was given points to my account to redeem for snacks or a future vosit.

This hotel went above and beyond to make sure our stay was just what we needed. The rooms were clean, updated and very comfortable. The location was so close to UC Davis - less than a. 5 min walk which was just what we wanted. All staff were friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel.

It's in a convenient location with easy parking. Most of the staff are nice and friendly, except one in the front office. She still did her job, but she could be friendlier to customers, and I'm not a demanding one. I'll go back there because my grandson goes to UC Davis.

Excellent location for visiting students.

Everything is great. Only one suggestion put a bell at the front desk so staff knows when guests arrive and dont have us waiting in the reception. Other than that amazing experience.

Room was spacious and very comfortable. We came for Picnic Day which makes Hyatt Place UCDavis excellently located.
