The property is well kept. Nice grounds and the room was excellent! Fresh and clean. We slept so well. Quiet and comfortable. The staff very friendly and professional. We walked into town for a quick bite before heading to the Del Mar Fair. We will definitely be back.

Staff was amazing. The only trouble we had was getting the air conditioner to work, but I think they were upgrading their systems. The room is exceptionally comfortable.

I had a wonderful time at the hotel. The free breakfast was a great perk, becauseI could order anything I wanted for breakfast. The French Toast was STUPENDOUS. I was in walking distance to the beach and had a wonderful walk every morning.

Location is close to everything. Walking distance to the beach, bars and restaurants. The friendliness of the staffs in the check in counter was just so so but that’s not a big problem to me. On 2nd floor you can see the ocean but not a full view. Avoid the room near the elevator, it’s very noisy. Over all Highly recommend.

Overall, it was a very satisfying stay. The one negative was that I had a room on the 2nd floor directly across the elevator. There was a great deal of noise and also lots of light coming through the door which made it harder to sleep.

We had a wonderful stay ! The bed was absolutely one of the best we've slept in of most of our travels. The room was clean and spacious.The cafe has really good food with lots of options. The staff was friendly and very helpful .Highly recommend staying here. We will definitely stay here on a return visit.

This property was clean, well maintained, with a great location in Del Mar. My only complaint is that the bed was the worst I have ever slept on at a hotel. The springs were so loud when we moved on the bed it was hard to sleep. The mattress was so soft that at 160#, it felt like I was laying in a hole. We have stayed at this hotel before without the bad mattress experience.

A bit outdated, but very clean. Staff greetings was welcomed and quality service. Needed help opening door and Olga, maintenance team member did not only help, but walked into room to ensure, all was on point and clean. A welcome surprised jester. Thank you for quite stay.

You could hear everyone’s steps and conversations while in the hallway and Loud stomps from those upstairs. Also, no notice beforehand that they were under renovations so tons of Workers were on site , noisy and made it uncomfortable. Not able to sit out on the balcony because the workers were working on the surrounding balconies. Felt like there was no privacy

The front desk staff members were very friendly and professional. The property was very clean. But my two main issues were that the pillows were the most uncomfortable pillows I’ve ever slept on. Actually, I never really could fall asleep. Also, the thermostat was ridiculously complicated. So enjoy reading the manual or calling the front desk for a tutorial.

Very clean room. Inconsistent at the front desk having stayed there twice in the last two weeks. Charges for parking, breakfast etc. this time but not last. Joined the BW Plan the first time in order to get benefits which, after having obtained the membership, parking and breakfast were not included. Front desk needs better consistent communcation for repeat customers.

Very comfortable room with a peek a boo view of the ocean. I think this was very good value for money and the location was great. Just around half a mile from center of Del Mar. The hotel has a little cafe on site for breakfast. Will definitely come back again.

The pleasant feel you get around the place. It is a very quaint decor. I used the pool and hot tub, great environment with comfortable chairs and sofas. The remodeled bathroom was also great. Walking distance to a delightful village. My wife was disappointed with the breakfast. Nothing else.

We stayed on the 3rd floor with a garden view and wished we could have stayed on the other side with a beautiful ocean view.

This was our second time there, and plan to return. The property is super well-managed, clean, quiet, wonderful location close to the beach, shops and a great variety of restaurants. It's always mellow around the swim pool/the hot-tube area. All very-very clean! The rooms are comfortable and very clean, too! They'll replace any items you need within minutes, or you can just ask at the front desk. The double beds are very narrow though, that was the only draw back. My husband and I share one, and our two daughters shared the other, and it was tight! Comfortable mattress, but tight space for two. We wished the quadruple bedrooms had Queen size beds, I'm not sure if that was what was advertised.

Best Western Premier Del Mar is located in the heart of downtown Del Mar which is a beautiful quaint seaside town. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

The on site restaurant was good, serves breakfast lunch and dinner.

Overall it was peace and quiet that’s all I wanted. I did not take advantage of the breakfast or pool so I can’t speak on that. I can say the people were helpful nice and accommodating. The rooms were very well kept.

The hotel is renovating. When we checked into our room, there was a man on our balcony yelling at his coworkers. The machines they were using were very loud. On our last day, the housekeeping staff kept knocking on our door to see if we were still in our room. Checkout is 11:00am yet, the knocking started at 8:30am. The hotel was clean and the $10.00 parking lot was easy.

Everything was really nice! This hotel is in a great location and makes it easy to walk to the main beach at Del Mar - about 6 blocks away. You can also walk to Torrey Pines from the hotel. There are lots of good restaurants within walking distance as well. The garden and pool are nicely maintained. The little restaurant has some good options. The only improvement I would make to the property is to get a few more items in the gym (mats, hand weights).

Everywhere was clean and tidy: the room, lobby, pool area, cafe. The staff was gracious and authentic. I felt so welcome and will definitely return.

The pool area is really nice. Great for relaxing - after a relaxing day at the beach! They have a little cafe where you can get drinks and some food. There's also a hot tub. The location is awesome - about a 15 minute walk into the heart of Del Mar and maybe a 20 minute walk to Del Mar Beach. Parking appeared to be ample and seemed safe behind the hotel. It is on a busy road (not a highway, but there's a lot of traffic going by during the day). Our room faced the pool and the road was on the other side. The room was well insulated and I believe the sliding glass door was double pained so when you shut it, it really blocked out the noise well. If you prefer a quieter view, opt for the oceanside rooms. They are priced a little more and not spectacular because they face the parking lot and some other buildings and then the ocean. But it's quieter on that side. Either way, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

I was a hotel marketing director for many years and am retired now. I found this to be an excellent property. The rooms are very well designed and furnished.

The location is the best feature. It’s easy to walk straight downtown to Delmar village. Very nice staff working here. The main issue is the noise between rooms (above and sides). If you have a heel stomper above you, you will find it hard to sleep. Also the walls have very little soundproofing. Bring ear plugs. Wiping light switches/plates would have been appreciated. Parking spaces can be limited if there is a big show at the fairgrounds. K-cup coffeemakers and cups daily in the rooms were appreciated.

Room was modern, well appointed and clean. Lots of space/light around front door, so some additional weather stripping may help to drown out hall noise. The rooms around and upstairs were a bit noisy, but maybe the walls are just a bit thin. Hard to change that.

I hope to stay at this BW Del Mar again sometime. I had my dinner and breakfast at the cafe. I enjoyed the free coffee in the morning. I was traveling alone and felt safe. It's located close to Torrey Pines State Park and several nice eateries. Also, there's a short walk to the beach.

Everything was clean. Not a fan of carpet in a hotel anymore. View from the 3rd floor was so nice. Watched the sunset. Quiet for the most part- noisy guests in hallways ate unavoidable it seems. Bed was comfy for lounging but not good for those who prefer something more firm. Bedding and towels clean and comfortable. Love the little kitchenette in the closet. Walkable area. Lots of places to eat. Short walk to a gorgeous beach. Cafe had a nice selection. Staff there could be improved, but good food-prices weren'thorrible. Grounds were nice and parking for $10. Overall, a good stay. Just wouldn't do more than q night because of the beds. If they got new beds, I'd stay here again.

A great, well-kept hotel close to beach and shops. The onsite cafe has a nice variety of options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the speciality coffees offered are fantastic.

The location was closed to the beack, but to get there, you will need a walk about 1.5-2 miles because there is a bluff between the hotel and the beach, so you can't get there directly. Facility is very clean. While we were there the pool area was closed for renovation.

Nice ocean view from the room and patio in a quiet location. The cafe food and coffee was delicious. The pool is fantastic with nice seating areas and plenty of it. The downsides to our visit were the staff, the wifi and the impressive lack of water pressure. The front desk was less than enthused to do anything beyond their assigned duties every time we were there. For example, we had a delivery made to the lobby and not 1 of 3 employees greeted us. When we asked where we could find it, they motioned to where it was sitting.

A short walking distance to Del Mar beach. Walking distance to cafes and shops. 24 hr staff at the front desk. Kitchenette in the room is a nice addition.

A/C didn't work, but was repaired promptly. Fridge was set low and took nearly all day to cool. Did not find out Other than that, room was great and so was the hospitality.

Such a cute, appropriately sea-themed stay fairly close to the ocean! Book an ocean view room if you’re looking to see the ocean at all – the only real place to see it outside of the ocean-facing rooms would be a tiny little slice off the dining deck of the café.

Loud, not very clean

I had an overall good experience BUT did have a few concerns that made my stay unpleasant. I noticed my water pressure in my shower was very low and the light from the hallway was coming through the spaces between the door/and door frame, which made it very difficult for me to falling asleep. I cannot imagine I am the only guest that has complained about this? May I suggest/recommend installing some type of door insulation as the gap between the door and frame is quite visible in some areas and brings a lot of light into the room at night. The staff and housekeeping were all very nice.

The staff up front was Amazing! The women were so accommodating as I was running late for the Farmers Open. The next day they helped me stay in my room just a little longer to take a very important Zoom meeting. I appreciated their hospitality and they directed me every step of the way. The room and property were very nice, but it was not a very quiet hotel. There was loud construction in nearby hotel rooms and there was a loud guest on a phone above us that woke us up at 3am where we could hear the entire conversation. I would still recommend the hotel to others assuming these were isolated stiuations.

As I really wanted quiet, I really appreciated they moved me to a quieter room as being across from elevator was quite loud. The door is directly across where people stand & bells ding. Even in quiet rooms, I could easily hear neighbors having sex & talking through wall. That said, the space was great. The pool was nice - salty instead of chlorine. It's right by busy road so you hear road noise. The balconies have beautiful ocean views. Room was clean. It looks close to ocean but you have to walk 15-20 min to get to where there are not cliffs, down the main road, before you can cut to water. Has firepit, great service.

The hotel was nice, everyone was friendly, the room and shared spaces were clean, and the cafe was great. Only complaint is that the walls were very thin and we could hear partiers late at night our first night and workers in the AM above us seemed to be replacing the floor?

It was OK! I was surprised to have to pay parking. It was free before, and now $10/night, and I was also surprised to have to pay to check in early... it seems a bit much, if the room is ready by the time you are there, not sure why there is an extra charge. Overall, the staff are great - super friendly, and hotel room was clean!

This is an excellent choice for a stay in Del Mar. The location is wonderful, the rooms are very nice and there is lots of free parking. To be clear, there was no free breakfast as noted above in this survey. We did eat at the café associated with the hotel however and the service, prices, and food quality were superb.

I'm not sure they have enough parking if all the rooms are filled, and they charge 10$ for parking. Just put that in the cost of the room, and let me make sure I can park if I'm staying. My only complaint.

This was a really lovely and reasonable option. We enjoyed our Ocean View and in Room coffee service. The restaurant is charming and the food was delicious and very well priced. The entire facility was sparkling clean. We will definitely return.

A $10 per night parking fee was added to my bill. I did not expect to have to pay an extra parking fee. This should have been included in the TOTAL EXPEDIA FEE that was quoted! Entering and exiting the facility using our vehicle was kind of inconvenient. The entry was very hard. You had to enter off the road with no turn lane and then go down a hill and over a speed pump that you can’t see from the road. All of this while trying to get out of the way of traffic coming from behind, since there is no turn lane. The exit was also a problem. Drive up onto the sidewalk and try to see down the road so that you can enter the road safely. My last comment regarding vehicle use is that if you want to drive to Del Mar you have to turn right exiting the facility and then make a U-Turn down the road to head back towards Del Mar. This was a small problem; however, I noticed that I only saw this problem at this hotel. Other than that, the stay went well.

The cafe was reasonably priced and the food was surprisingly good. In addition, there are many restaurants with easy walking distance. We were impressed with the hotel and would definitely stay here again!

We enjoyed the ocean view and the room was very nice. However, we have one complaint. On the TV, we were unable to watch the two Fox channels - Fox News and Fox Business. These two channels showed up on the guide, but when we clicked on the stations, we saw other channels instead of the Fox channels that were supposed to be there. This did not happen with any other channels, so it seems the Fox channels were blocked, which is suspicious. The front desk said "we are having problems with the Fox channels" and a tech sent to our room said he'd have to ask the provider to fix it, but it was not fixed. Are people who watch Fox news not welcome to stay at your hotel?

I like that the room was big enough, had plenty of closet space side table flat screen TV bathroom and shower were nice I like the fact that it had a patio and A View to the pool it was quiet easy access close to the beaches restaurants overall experience was pleasant the only reason why I didn't give it five stars was that the room had a slight musty odor.

We love how close it is to the downtown area and the large room size. We also like the large bathroom vanity.

The rooms were very nice, and ours had a great ocean view with a balcony. The grounds were well kept, a very nice pool and a friendly staff. I would definitely would recommend this hotel.

I stay every year when I come out for the races and love it there. Room always clean and nice, staff welcoming, Breakfast was very nice, pool always lovely, jacuzzi was too hot for my friend but ok for me. The only thing new is that now they charge $11.32 for a night of parking. Oh well. But I’ll still be back next year!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The pool, hot tub, sitting areas, cafe were all clean and well maintained. The staff is a hardworking group and very professional. It’s very close to beach as well. We would use this hotel again.

Tried to check in early but was unable to do so. We wanted to leave our bags while we waited for a room to become available. There was no secure room to leave them. The a/c remote control was confusing...felt like you needed an engineering degree to figure it out and the room temp. was hard to control.

The staff is friendly. We like the location. Parking is $10, which is very affordable compared to other hotels in San Diego. We like the breakfast and 25% discount for Hotel.com. However, the "double" beds are too small; it's more like a twice bed. And the air conditioner is too loud and makes funny noises during the night.

Great Cafe and the Staff were amazing and the front desk folks were so kind. You can walk to Delmar Race Course and the amazing Beach areas and the restaurants and community are priceless. Don’t pass the place up stay when in Delmar. The Perfect Place in my opinion in San Diego. I can not wait to get back.

An older Tudor-style hotel, kept in sparkling clean condition with modern touches. Comfy bed and bedding, a Keurig coffee maker (with STRONG java), and a nice, spacious shower. Staff are very friendly as well.

Comfortable room other than bed too soft for me. Spacious bathroom with a good shower. Didn’t use the pool or café. Expensive for what it is, but might have been due to the timing during race season.

Brief but very nice overnight stay on our way home to Long Beach CA. Dinner at Coya, and breakfast at Miltons, then to SD to shop.

Have stayed there many times. This time the mattress in my room was horrible and housekeeping did not clean the bathroom well enough. Did not restock some items. I hate to say this because I really like this property, but I have to be honest.

One of the worst stays I've ever booked on Expedia. The "suite" that I booked was right next to the elevator which made a loud vibrating noise all day throughout the entire stay. It was also next to the entrance to the hotel where you could hear everyone's conversations as if they were in your room and the ice machine! The hotel staff did not inform me of the location of the room when I checked in. Terrible!

I found the A/C - Heater unit to be over complicated. It would reset its temp at night or shut off all together. I Don't have time when I'm freezing at 2 am to get up and read a manual.

Love this place and especially the cafe. We will drive from LA just for the hotel cafe…everything is sooooo good.

The hotel was very nice. My only complaint is the temperature control requires a steep learning curve. We were either too warm or too cold on waking every morning. The staff was great, and everything else was wonderful.

My son and I stayed here for two nights, and we loved our time here! My main concern when booking hotels is cleanliness, our room was spotless and so cute. The staff was helpful and always available, the jacuzzi was sanitary and the cafe on site so convenient! We can’t wait to visit San Diego and stay here again.

The check in staff were wonderful, very kind and helpful. All staff were very nice - I just was really exhausted the next morning and it would’ve been a nice opportunity for goodwill.

We loved our stay at Best Western Premier in Del Mar! It was clean and modern with a great view, yet affordable! I definitely recommend it! The breakfast coupon was totally worth buying!

Our room, on the 2nd floor and in the middle of the property, was quiet. The room was spacious and quite lovely. I enjoyed a cup of mint tea in the morning in the in-room amenity. The cafe was convenient and delicious (not free). Veey clean faculties and all were friendly. We would stay here again and highly recommend.

The ocean view room was pretty nice. Super close to Torrey pines beach and Del Mar beach. Had a great time running and going to the beach.

Staff friendly and very helpful but not impressed there was a wet patch in carpet hopefully it was coffee. Should not have been given room with that. Receptionist dealt with problem swiftly and courteously and rectified situation by providing another room

Great location and the price was perfect! Just a 12 minute walk to restaurants and 15 walk to beach. You can also pick up the upper trail by train tracks just go directly behind baseball field and straight down towards ocean!

The hotel is convenient when I go to Del Mar Racetrack. They always give me good service. They now charge $10/night for parking. Bummer

My wife and I love staying here. The pool is great and just a short walk to the beach.
