Expensive.

Loved the hotel. We had a few issues that were resolved quickly. Toilet was backed up and maintenance fixed within 10 minutes. Our room was missing a remote, and when we returned from dinner, we had one. I wish the meals were more affordable. They weren't great. Cake was dried out and the waffle was fair.

Great time. Clean place. Friendly staff. Cheap rooms for such a nice area.

The hotel was located with a short proximity to our son’s school. The room was clean and the property was maintained very well. The highlight of our stay was definitely the coffee bar and the restaurant/bar staff. Everyone was friendly and made you feel welcomed with the exception of the man we encountered at breakfast on our last day. The food was really good and they had a nice outdoor/ fire pit area. The downside we found during our stay was the hot tub. It looked like it wasn’t maintained as well as the pool. It had a weird hue and odor coming from it so we didn’t want to stay in it.

I would’ve paarked out on the street and saved my money.

My whole experience here was excellent. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Restaurant was great. Food was delicious and highly recommend that you stay here

We were visiting family, most relaxing hotel stay, we have had in a long time. It was quiet and restful. The staff was really exceptionally helpful and charming. We loved the easy access to the freeway and the ease in and out of the parking area. The water pressure in the shower could use a boost. But everything was really nice.

Parking was easy to access and safe. The property was located near the freeway with easy access. The rooms and property were clean and well-maintained. The bed was a little firmer than I prefer but it was fine.

It was definitely safe and clean. Would definitely recommend.

I’ve been there before. It’s beautiful and centered to all the things we wanted to do near Del Mar. People were allowed to bring their dogs that were not “Service Dogs” and they peed in the elevators leaving a bad odor in the one elevator for the remainder of our stay.

The location was very ideal for the purpose of our stay. The staff were very friendly and accommodating for what we requested. Even though, we couldn't get rooms on the same floor, it was still a very enjoyable stay. The bed was a little too low for my taste. I would have appreciated if it were elevated. The base squeaked when I laid down or got up from the bed. Also, I felt there should be ice machines on every floor. I had to get on the elevator and go to a different floor to get ice.

However, I would like to share feedback regarding the mattress in my room. Unfortunately, it was too soft and did not provide the firm support needed for my back. This made it difficult for me to rest comfortably during my stay. I believe that offering firmer mattress options or ensuring better support would greatly improve the guest experience, especially for those of us who require proper back support. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope this feedback helps improve future stays.

They charged us $37 for parking, that was unexpected. We booked 2 queen beds and we got a king instead. Not a happy camper

Very clean and nice room. We were given a queen bed after booking a king unfortunately, but we were too tired for it to be worth the fuss.

I pre paid $430 through booking. When I arrived they charged me another $515. Sunday morning January 18th I was charged another $215. When I asked about the transactions I was told it was an accident and there was nothing they could do.

No breakfast offered. But room was nice.

Excellent property in the heart of the biotech area. The only thing I did not like and which I don't like in many properties, is having to pay for parking. I personally think it should be incorporated into the room fee.

Staff and common areas are great. Room was average. Thermostat was hard to control and shower water was scalding. Instead of waiting for water to warm up, you had to wait for it to cool down.

Room clean but somewhat not fresh. Shower malfunctioned - both the fixed and hand showers would go on together and the switch did not work. Water spilled onto the bathroom floor. Glasses on the bar were not fresh looking. Bed and pillows are great - all that matters.

It was clean .. The front desk charged me twice.. it was just weird I told him and showed him it’s pre- payed through booking.com . He asked for my credit card and then charge my account again.. now it’s gonna take 7 to 10 days hopefully to go back on my account. Then when I went to my room, I was tired and hungry and there was no brim service where they told me they had room service. I called twice no answer., then called the front desk and they acted like I was being a nuisance when all of this was all their fault. They said a person would contact me, but no one ever contacted me.. I ended up leaving the hotel because it was such bad service. I would never say if this hotel again.

Property was good, restaurant was good, the bed was comfortable and linens good. Only bad thing was the bathroom shower track was disgusting and the sink backed up with slow drainage.

I do business trips across the country. I enjoy every occasion. However, Marriott Del San Diego is the best experience for me so far. I wanted to stay more, since I missed the relaxing time at the Bar and breakfast.

Nice hotel.

The room we stayed in was vibrating continuously throughout our stay, as if there were a large machine operating nearby. The noise was extremely disruptive and made it difficult to relax or sleep. It significantly affected the quality of our stay.

The room was large and comfortable. I especially enjoyed the large, comfortable couch, but I would have liked an adjustable reading light instead of the very bright overheard lamp . The bathroom was very user friendly, with an easy to figure out shower that had a step just right for shaving my legs. The only reason that my review is Good instead of Excellent is that the bed was so hard that I woke up with a backache each morning. Maybe a memory foam pad could solve that problem?

Very clean and helpful

A nice property. Mostly really good service but the room cleaning service is hit and miss. There were days they forgot our room. Days they only did light cleaning. Evidently you have to request daily cleaning. And even after I requested daily cleaning, it was still hit and miss.

I arrived at the hotel, and there were tons of screaming children running all over the place. I got to my room and there was a spider in my shower, I tried to call to get help to dispose of it, and there was no answer… For hours. My shower was full of rust stains. I have pictures. Until late hours there were people running up and down the hallway not being quiet at all slamming doors. Just very unpleasant and very disappointing as I’ve stayed at this hotel before and it seems to have really gone downhill. I got no sleep. I got no responses from the front desk Not sure I’ll let her stay here again. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel if you want a clean and quiet night sleep.

The staff was exceptional. They went out of their way to greet me to make sure I was comfortable, and they remembered my name when I came down to use the commissary.

I had a great experience regarding cleanliness and scenery, however, the staff was beyond rude to me. Simple toiletry was hard to get without feeling like a burden. The fire alarm had also gone off while I was showering, when I went to go to the front desk to ask what happened. The front desk treated me like I had said nothing of importance, I went back to the room with the alarm still going off, I was an hour from checkout but I had to pack early to get out of the loud alarm. They ended up finally calling and heard the alarm going off still. Finally sent a technician, however he was rude as well, I greeted and it seemed to be an inconvenience that my loud room was ruining my stay. Finally he took off the fire alarm and proceeded to ask with a rude tone if my wife and I were vaping. While we both were still soaked from the shower, we had to do our best to rush out without doing harm to ourselves, thinking it was an actual emergency but in the end we were treated with hostility. Wouldn’t say I would recommend the hotel but the area was really amazing.

Stayed for the weekend with the family. And everything about this place was nice. We even got a great workout at the gym.

A bit bummed that there are no microwaves in the rooms to reheat leftovers. The room was clean and comfortable. The check-in clerk didn’t activate my key for parking but the night clerk gave me credit on my account and fixed the problem. Overall a decent experience and I would recommend to others

We were looking for a quiet short stay. There was a soccer tournament of some kind. Kids ran up and down the hall at all hours. We went out and skipped the restaurant to avoid the noise. Parking was ok and the staff were nice.

Clean and safe location. Shopping and food area 5 minutes away. About 30-40 minute drive to downtown San Diego. Room was clean. Ben was comfortable. Good quality as you expect from Marriott.

Everything was great except the beds are so soft that I literally was up several times during the night. (I forgot that I stayed in a Marriott 10 years ago and never went back for that very reason.) Other than the marshmallow bed everything was pretty nice. The rooms are super tidy and clean, comfortable, the shower had tons of water pressure, the cocktails were great in the bar. If you're cool with mushy beds you're going to like this place!

Overall the stay is what I’ve come to expect from a Marriott. The staff is hit or miss you may be welcomed with open arms by someone with excellent customer service or you may get someone who acts like they haven’t slept in 48 hrs. I did receive excellent customer service by Jason so I wanted to give him a shoutout. During my visit me and wife stayed in a total of 3 rooms in a three day period due to little fault of Marriott and more due to my wife having a horrible sinus infection that kept both of us from sleeping so we chose to sleep in separate rooms. Two out of the 3 rooms had pressure and drainage issues in the restroom and the pressure issue is most likely due to the showers having amazing pressure when operating correctly. To end the review I’d like to add that the valets genuinely brightened me and my wife’s stay every time we left and returned they were so kind and welcoming that it put a smile on our faces.

Pool area was excellent. Parking is crazy expensive. Wifi was free though the login experience is confusing as the free button is next to the enhanced button and can be mixed up.

We have stayed many times at this hotel including several weeks this summer. Every visit is less and less enjoyable. The hotel is showing its age and is badly in need of repairs. Our most recent visit this week found us in a room right next to the elevator ( noise) with a door that wouldn’t shut, a frig that didn’t work, uncomfortable beds and a microwave that never came. The last night we were there, there was an explosion in the laundry facilities- an old machine that wasn’t repaired had been exploded which set off alarms and shut down the elevators for over 2 hours and we were stranded in the lobby at 10:00 at night. I am a loyal Marriott Gold member- and should have had a better room especially at the price we paid - avg over $400 a night. Not reparations were made for our country experience .Time to step it-up Marriott and upgrade the rooms. A Hilton is being built next door-time is ticking. We will likely find other accommodations next time.

Clean, updated hotel with decent restaurant and pool.

Room was large and roomy… Bathroom door is a barn door and aesthetically pretty but would not stay shut. It needs a latch. Also, we were only provided with two bath towels for two adults. I think there should be four in the bathroom otherwise great location, easy access, quiet and comfortable.

$35 a night parking feels steep for a weekend in an empty parking lot, but it is likely the going rate. Slow drawing sink and a shower that could have been a lot cleaner. Overall a nice hotel and a good location.

My husband and I were able to walk to a Mimi market and Taco Bell was close by, if we wanted something different to eat. Uber was easy and inexpensive. Eating breakfast was affordable, and the service was great. Hotel staff were nice, and helpful.

Great option near Del Mar that is quiet and in a convenient location. Room is modern and class.
