The Staff was very friendly & it was close to the fair which was perfect

A lot of the rooms have an ocean view (1/4 mile away). The staff were very helpful. We had a balcony and enjoyed the breeze coming off the ocean. A 1/4 mile walk dow to the sea cliff trail. Easy parking in the underground garage. A very nice location. We loved the Monarch restaurant nearby.

The stuff at the front desk was amazing! Especially Barbara with her great patience and Ursulla with her very warm welcome and demeanor! The balcony with the ocean view was a winner! Every time we are in the SD area we will make sure to return to this hotel. It is a GEM! I would change the light bulbs to warm light rather than white; that is the only comment I have. The white lights give a feeling of a cheap, cold place, which is not the case at all for this location. It is a great and welcoming place, with an excellent location and atmosphere.

The room was very clean and bed was comfortable.

Clean room. Bathroom fan and room fan were a bit noisy. Mini fridge door did not close all the way. Food in the restaurant was above average.

The pillows were good. My husband has a thing about pillows and he liked the pillows. We had an amazing view. Everything was clean. The shower was a little small, but the waterfall shower head was a plus. They are in walking distance of a lot of places but there were no maps or directions available around the hotel. All in all we liked and enjoyed our stay!

We always try to stay at the Hotel Indigo when visiting or working in Del Mar area. The Customer service is light years above others, from the check in/out staff, the service staff in the restaurant everyone is very helpful, pleasant and efficient. We love it and highly reccomend it

It was also noted that they had friends coming in that we’re not staying at the property and they were also putting their kids in swim trunks and putting them in the hot tub and notably kids that were in diapers, were not being put in swim diapers. This whole situation turned us off and it was reported to the front desk. Needless to say, I did not feel they had good control over their facilities and who was using them, and adhering to the post guidelines. This was a big detraction.

Staff was great. Property is a bit dated in some areas, but the location was great. We could walk to restaurants and to the bluff easily.

The staff was really welcoming, creating a warm atmosphere. It's within walking distance to the heart of Del Mar, making it convenient to explore. I absolutely loved the stunning ocean views from the main patio — such a beautiful sight! It was great to find a place that was affordable and pet-friendly, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The covered parking was a nice bonus for guests. While our room could use a bit of updating, especially since the blue LED lighting made it feel a bit more budget-friendly, it still provided a comfortable stay overall.

Serene and most rooms were secluded. Close to bluffs trail (walkable). Fitness center was a decent size! Bathroom felt like a closet. Workspace was not big enough. Internet was intermittent.

Staying at the Hotel Indigo was a great getaway! A hidden gem! Beautiful views! Amazing staff, amenities and location! Dawniella at Spa Na’Mara made my birthday extra amazing as I booked a massage with a few add-ons! Try it! You’ll Love It!

Very welcoming staff, extremely dog friendly. Sunset toast was an unexpected bonus. A lot of stairs to navigate but we knew that going in, they were accommodating and made sure we had first floor room with dogs.Beach not very accessible without walking a bit towards town - probably 15 minutes.

The hotel was accommodating, super clean and friendly. The beds were cozy and the swimming pool very refreshing and inviting after a long day of travel. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend for a budget friendly stay!

Loved the location of the hotel. One of my main goals during my stay was to visit the Sea Cliff Bluff Trail and turns out, it was right behind/walking distance from the hotel! Every staff I have interacted with were kind, loved the scent of the soap/balm they offered and had great amenities. ONE complaint would be the smell in the room, it just smelled a bit too musky (or the smell you get from leaving wet clothes out). It eventually went away by the evening after running the fan all day/letting the air out.

Was was very nice clean and well decorated - get in was easy and room was ready by 3:30. The gym was a little dated and musty smelling saw there was a sauna room but not working. Pool was clean and cold but jacuzzi was perfect.

In addition, the rooms are too noisy. Noise from the hallway, parking right behind our window, and worst of all, constant footsteps and conversations from the unit above—we couldn’t sleep at all. Not recommended!

Almost devoid of any design or theme. 5000K light bulbs gave room a prison-like look and a cold feeling No door/floor scraper, so easy access for insects, outside light, and noise. Loud neighbors on floor above BUT bed extremely comfortable Check-in person. Barbara, was extremely welcoming and gracious. Barbara did change our room after the 1st night on account of upstairs guest. No artificial fragrances in room--a big plus!

This was a wonderful hotel and I have only one complaint. The walls and doors don't seem to keep out sound. We could hear every sound from the neighboring room, and the folks sitting in the courtyard in the evening were way too loud.

This property is fine. Just don’t get a cheap room.

Room was located on the ground floor although they refer to it as the 3rd Floor. Back of building in the corner, with no view. Room felt dingy and outdated, with stains on the lamp shade, curtains looked moldy and bedding had hair and on them. Dead bug on floor by strange hole in the wall near the door, that looked like a Roach. Left a day early due to dirty feeling of room and location

Was placed in the laundry area with no need as it was a weekday and hotel was not full. Treated like a second class citizen. Won’t stay there again. Del Mar was beautiful.

You definitely need a car or to take Uber into town. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the beach. Other than that it’s a beautiful place and the beds were comfortable. Rooms were very clean.

The location was awesome! Short walk to the bluffs and very close to the Del Mar downtown. The bed was comfortable. The room was musty. Housekeeping starts early so if you want to sleep in forget it! Also, housekeeping loves to allows the doors to slam shut. The restaurant/lounge was great! The food was good, drinks were good and the bartender was great! The property itself was beautiful! Overall, we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

It’s a beautiful property but is a bit of a maze to get around the property. The entrance/exit from the road is a bit dicey. It is nice to have the convenient garage. The staff were all great and Tee in the dining room is awesome!

WE PAID FOR AN OCEAN VIEW. We got a room with little to no ocean view. It cost us $100 more per night…. Not cool.

Lobby and staff were fine, but the room had no view, and was somewhat difficult to find. No restaurant, just a bar with food, which we didn’t try.

Parking was convenient. Room was ok.

This seems more a motel than hotel. Room doors open to the exterior; not in a row, but scattered on multiple layers. So, to move from lobby to room to pool you take flagstone walkways and stairs. The Ocean View restaurant had views only to the pool and deck. The restaurant is also the bar and lounge. The snack bar/deli is akin to a Marriott or Hampton Inn snack shop. I chose this Indigo because I know the brand from other cities. My room had a patio but no chair and table like others. I was told it was because I had a “simple queen bed “ room. Ouch! I not interested in a return.

After checking in Johnny the assistant GM was very friendly and over the top helpful. Especially helping my daughter find the gym.

Was hard to navigate within the hotel. Had to go through the parking garage to get to the main lobby. No room service and the restaurant is only open for breakfast and dinner.

In the middle of del mar

Overall it was a great stay. The beds could have been bigger and more comfortable. Also, having to go to the front desk for a wine bottle opener and to use the microwave was a bit inconvenient

The pool was great. The rooms where clean and modern. Staff at the restaurant and bar where amazing and had good dinning suggestions. Will book again!

The front desk person was very nice and professional. Yet my experience afterwards was less than nice and professional. Though the room was clean the bed and bedding reeked of cheap perfume and synthetic air freshener. The room was adjacent to the bar/ restaurant and was very loud and noisy. The walls here are very thin. By the time I got into my room it was 7:30 pm and the bar was in full swing. As the night progressed the noise and activity increased. It appeared as though several of the bar guests were over served as evidenced by their yelling and screaming. At around 1:00 am in the morning a fist fight broke out. I wasn’t sure what to do? I thought about calling 911 but decided this property should have security so I called the front desk. The front desk who apparently thought all of this was normal said, “They will be finishing up soon. Don’t worry the bartender will be closing the bar soon” Needless to say I will not be coming back to this hotel and will be requesting a refund.

Very Run down exterior, confusing layout. Left luggage cart outside elevator it was there for whole stay in rain, understaffed, coffee maker couldn’t be accessed, just not good. Very small shower/ toilet room. We had large room but bathroom very small.

Check-in took forever and the lady helping us kept chatting with the other lady working and helping her guests. But the rest of the hotel staff were wonderful. The restaurant staff remembered us each morning we came in for breakfast. The doors could be quieter, so loud when a guest on any floor around us was coming or going. Loved the paper of restaurants, beach access etc i was given at check-in. Loved that there was a laundry room for us. I couldnt get into the pool by the lobby and the other suggestion is a microwave in the rooms. I sometimes drink my coffee slow to the point it gets cold, it would have been nice to warm it up. The property had beautiful views our room was taken care of when we were out. Parking was good and beach access was so close.

The room is beside a path which is somewhat busy at times with arriving and departing guests and cleaning staff. The room I was in during a previous stay had hardly any traffic at all.

Property starting to show its age. Room 422 has no view at all. Housekeeping knocked on door at 8:15am which seems early for people on vacation.

Very comfy beds. Awesome shower with both a hand held wand and rain shower. Great flooring- no carpet. Big rooms. My only complaints would be that they should have a ledge in the shower for shaving legs and the hair dryer was not very strong. Would definitely stay here again.

We've stayed here 3-times before, but the dirty sheets and bedbugs made it unpleasant.

This is an older property that has been kept up very nicely. The rooms are a bit funky but clean and updated.

We were there for the Breeder's cup. They are long days at the track so it's very nice to have a comfortable room. We had a handicapped room. We were surprised to see only one safety bar on the left side of the toilet made it very difficult to stand up without a bar of the right side the sink was too far away to use for leverage.

The staff at this property is excellent from check in, dining, guest room, pool area, patio through to check out all excellent. Our Breakfast server Ian after our first meal, he remembered us every other morning and remembered our names and what we liked. He was awesome. Van and Cate texted us to make sure all was well with our accommodations. We intend to visit again when in the Del Mar area.

Funky rooms little privacy. Hotel is basically empty and i booked a premium room but was still given a crappy room that everyone can look into. Weird hotel and confusing set up. Stuff in rooms is old, outdated, mismatched. Its like it was furnished from a garage sale. Definitely not worth the price

The hotel was really cool! The staff was amazing! There was one guy with a great smile and bun in his head. He was so very nice and friendly! He made our stay wonderful and memorable. Great place to stay with a family.

Beautiful views and ambience. The only critique is that the tv was not new enough to cast the shows for our kids.

Nice boutique hotel. Very friendly staff. Barbara, Mia & Benito were great at the front desk. Only had one little hiccup....... Reserved an "OCEAN VIEW" King room, but what we checked into was really a "Peek-a-Boo" view from the balcony. Assistant mgr was kind to try to move us to a nicer room with an actual ocean view (because this room was pretty pricey!) but it just wasn't available. When I asked the next morning which rooms are "OCEAN VIEW" I was told the room we were given is "CONSIDERED" an ocean view. Not so much unfortunately. But the beds were comfortable. Pillows were a little lumpy for my taste. Bathroom was extremely small, but we were only there one night for an event at the Del Mar racetrack so it was doable. It has two pools which we did not have the opportunity to sit at. On the whole, it's a very pleasant, comfortable, cool surf/beach vibe hotel with spa & restaurant.

The only downer is we paid for an ocean view room and the room had a glimmer of an ocean view. So, if we return we would not pay for an "ocean view". We were visiting family in the area a the location was perfect and the staff was helpful.

Location was walkable to beach. Wish HoT Tube had temperature options. Water was just warm. Front staff mostly friendly. Not too many smiles.

Great location in Del Mar, close to the beach. We had an ocean view and were right next to the pool. Love the convenience of parking and easy to get in and out. Check in was great-Van was helpful and friendly. This is our 2nd time staying here and we would definitely stay again.

They gave me a room number that was already booked. When I tried to enter my room there was someone inside sleeping in there. Terrible service

Was a very comfortable stay and I made the most of the gym and hot tub. I would have liked the steam room to have been in service. Also, the hotel should consider only using warm light bulbs. The white light bulbs really take away from an otherwise comfortable room feel.

It was amazing amd refreshing. It had pismo vibes without the drive.The young lady that was on shift with the braids was amazing her energy was great. Me and my husband loved the live band as well.

It was very nice staying there, so peaceful and the staff was very helpful!

The pet fee was however exorbitant and for that reason I will not be staying there again. At $95/night they should call it a we don't want pet fee. In addition I am tired of hotels not listing their pet fees at time of booking.

The check in process was easy. We did however have a housekeeper open our room door after we had checked in. The campus is confusing and needs updated signage. The room was styled nicely but there were quite a few things that were damaged: the Roman shades, a crack in the sink and the toilet paper roll holder attached to the wall. The mattress needs to be replaced it was very uncomfortable, almost floppy. The ceiling fan is far too low as it is within arms reach and I am not very tall. The hand soap dispenser was in the shower and the body wash was next to the sink. There was an enormous spider in our room and we called the front desk for a vacuum and was immediately put on hold. We also had incredibly heavy footed upstairs neighbors that awoke around 4am and could not sit still. All in all this was not a pleasant stay and we will not be back if we can help it. The Del Mar village is very cute and walkable however.

What a lovely and cool hotel! The staff is super friendly. The service is great. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and was so warm and festive. They welcome guests to enjoy the restaurant, lobby, and bar and the guests definitely do! We came down for the final races at Del Mar racetrack of the year and stayed here with friends. We all had clean, spacious, comfortable, and beachy boho chic rooms. The hotel is close to everything on the main strip. We will definitely stay here again.

I spent a weekend here for work and it was totally fine. Comfortable, clean, things worked, etc. It’s a bit dated and can be a bit noisy in the daytime with people walking and talking around the property, I suppose due to thin walls. I also had a bedside sconce that was slightly shattered, but no big deal. It was well priced, well located and parking was free. It also has a restaurant with bar on site which I always appreciate. It got the job done.

We stayed there two nights for a soccer tournament in Del Mar. Hotel is super cute! Restaurant and bar staff were all very nice! Awesome views! Definitely kid friendly!

Ocean view, not enough toilet paper

The staff was great. The room was big but everything was cramped in one area. Couldn’t use the desk without bumping into the bed. Couldn’t watch tv from seat in room only from one side of bed. Hard floor surfaces so everything echoed. Walkways we’re right next to windows so had to keep drapes shut to avoid having others look right at you.

This is a great spot in the heart of Del Mar with easy access to all the shops, restaurants, and the beach. It was a little noisy at times, but other than that it was fantastic.

As a senior I didn’t appreciate having to go up and down two sets of stairs to get to our room. Parking is not optimal. The room had a strange sounding noise all night. I mentioned we needed handicap parking but there we were not asked about any limitations. Also it seems whenever we book with Expedia we are not given optimal rooms.
