Days Inn by Wyndham Kings Dominion/Doswell

The building looks new and room looks new but nothing feels clean. Floor was dirty in the room. Walked out of shower to bed, my feet got dirty from the floor. Shower gel and shampoo was completely empty had to ask for them to replace. Hair dryer was also missing. Had to call for them to bring up. The room just didn't feel ready for us even though we online checked in 24hrs ahead. Plus there were ants in the lobby for 2 days and not cleaned or had a solution for. It was all over the coffee machine and water machine.

Hard with little ones. The shower curtain was barely hanging on. The bathroom door and wall had some questionable stuff on it.

Mattress was so very uncomfortable/hard/lumpy. The hotel grounds were dirty with trash and cigarette butts everywhere. I am a 280lb man and I had to slam my shoulder into door to get in the room. When my wife went out I had to open the door to let her in because she couldn’t push it open. I guess wasn’t all bad, the tv worked and the refrigerator kept our drinks cold!! Worst Wyndham associated property I have ever stayed at by far!!

Room was very clean! Beds and linens were great. Grounds were not taken care of. We stayed there because of the pictures of the tennis courts, shuffle board and putting green. None of that is operational or there any more for at least 10+ years. Great location where you can walk to Kings dominion. But trash everywhere outside and run down. Dog poop, dirty diapers, broken glass and trash.

Rooms were nice looking with a good size fridge and freezer, and small two burner stove. Ice machines close to our room was not working, housekeeping did not check the rooms everyday to refresh towels, our room had a serious ant problem in the bathroom

The beds were comfortable,the air conditioning worked great. My only complaints are that ,the tub drain stopper was in pieces sitting on the edge of the tub and the tub drained slow when taking a shower. And the hotel site says its 100% smoke free but every time we would go in the bathroom we would smell cigarette smoke. I think housekeeping can do a little bit of a better job sweeping and cleaning the floors in the room. Overall It wasn't bad for a 2 night stay for our trip to kings dominion. (Which is a quick 5 minute walk across the parking lot).

The pictures were misleading. The parking was limited, the outside was sketchy. The sink was clogged and had very poor drainage, the toilet would barely flush, the shower had body hair on the walls, the bathroom towel hooks were barely attached, the shampoo and body wash wall containers were empty, and the bath towels were tiny. After a long day in the city and running around I did NOT look forward to going back there. I will say, the staff were polite and kind but that’s it.

The room was very dirty hairs everywhere toilet had some feces on the edge. The shower did not drain and was dirty. The curtain did not close all the way, and you could see in from outside, walking by, and the mirror placement showed even more of the room. I had to tuck it behind the door for privacy. No pots or pans to cook with on the hot plate. The fridge was nice, the TV was nice and modern, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Something else to note, when we began loading our car around 9 am, both keys stopped working for the room, so we had to go back to the front desk to get them reactivated. Overall, not bad for the price, the bed was clean, and it was right next to King's Dominion you cant beat that view!

First room we got, sheets were dirty. Took photos, went to desk and asked for a new room or clean linens, got new room, much better. The bathroom sucks. Shower water comes out top and bottom at same time and you’re standing in ankle deep water. Bathroom was toilet and shower, and the sink out, which gave no place to change in private for my kids and myself. However the fact you can walk into Kings Dominion was perfect for us.

Very disgusting floor wasn’t mopped/cleaned. The shower only worked on very hot water also bugs in the bath tub. Sheets weren’t cleaned. Over all very nasty hotel we won’t be staying there again.

The heat/cool mechanism workedand was quiet. The room was clean, had new towels, shower was spotless clean. There was a faint odor if smoke from previous time occupant. It was not a string odor.

The room was filthy, the tub had 5 inches of standing water in it. I had to snake out a giant wad of hair from the tub drain. Door did not seem to lock properly, had to use chair to keep door and curtain closed. This was the 2nd room we tried, the first had no functioning ac and was so filthy, ceiling sagging. Dogs barking in the room next door. The entire hotel was horrible, dirty, rundown, had what appeared to be unhoused people or prostitutes hanging around, partying loudly in the corridors. The very definition of “fleabag motel”, “crack head motel”. This property should not be listed on Expedia and should lose its Days Inn flag, even with the minimal expectations of that brand. A complete ripoff, terrible, I have lost a lot of respect for Expedia for the rating given to this hotel, a nightmare.

It is in the same parking lot as Kings Dominion - so we were able to walk there from our room. That makes staying there totally worth it. The bathrooms could use a little tlc- especially the tub/shower. It was great for one night. The pool and play area looked like it would be great for families.

To begin with, when checking in the staff didn’t speak to us or ask about payment. After a silent transaction when we received our room key. The stair up to the room shook with every step. The room appeared to be clear and wasn’t bad on the inside however, the landlord special had be done to the bath tub leaving and EXTREMELY slick tub floor( a shower mat or shoes is a MUST) Now regarding the “ complementary” breakfast the next morning….. there was none unless your on a liquid only diet- not a yogurt or muffin to be see unless of course you wanted to pay to open the fridge. I suggest bringing your own breakfast. Apple and orange juice is served along with coffee and tea.

Can’t beat it for the money! Staff was really nice, the entire place was very clean and even the supplied shampoo/soap smelled good! We’ll be staying here a lot visiting Kings Dominion!

The room offers mini kitchen in the room including stove tops, microwave, full-size fridge and freezer and small sink. But there were neither pots and pans nor utensils in the room. Microwave was placed on a shelf where you need to be 6’ tall to use safely. The faucet was broken that it splashed water from the side, and the sink took 15 minutes to drain water. The air from air conditioner smelled like mold so we did not used though it would be very tough to stay if the weather was as nice as it was. The room looked updated some point, but the business does not seem care details and don’t seem to check it before handing keys to customers….just lower quality standard. This is nothing new nowadays, unfortunately….

My only concern was cleanliness. The toilet had urine around the base that was thick and looks to have not been cleaned in months. The tub had soap from the last tenants still in it which gave me indication it hadn't been cleaned between tenants. Also the tub would not drain which is very unhygenic especially since I was not sure it was cleaned between the last tenants. Finally there was a lot trash and cigarette butts along the grounds.

Nice outdoor area but the room was damp and smelly. The shower didn’t drain and the shower head sprayed every direction but towards you. I was there for 4 days and nobody turned the room

Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a staycation and planning on going to Kingsdl Dominion. Its literally a 3 mintute walk to park enterance, no need to drive and pay for parking.

Location was fantastic. Walked to and from Kings Dominion. Bed comfort was good. Loved full sized fridge with freezer. Shower was good but kept coming full force out of tub at same time. Would definitely stay again. Didn't use pool as we utilized water park that day.

Hotel staff is very friendly and polite. But the room was gross in every possible way. Hair on the floor. Dead bugs. Like the gloor hadn't been clean in a long time. Grime on the walls. Just super gnarly in ways I haven't experienced like ever before. But the bed was comfortable, playground was great, and the pool was enjoyable. So thjs place has lots of potential if it "tried".

This hotel was so convenient to go to KD. We just walked into the park from the hotel. The place was very tidy and we slept very well. The only issues were the bathroom door didn’t shut, I believe it was freshly painted because there was dried paint all over the floor. The toilet was severely cracked and water was leaking from the tank, and the toilet wouldn’t stop running the entire night due to not enough water being in the tank. There’s no way they didn’t see the toilet in that condition, the cracks are very obvious and I wouldn’t be surprised if it completely breaks open one evening while guests are there. The night attendant was very friendly and I felt safe being there with my child. Overall I’d definitely stay there every time I go to Kings Dominion, I just hope I’d get a different room.

Horrible horrible water pressure! Good luck getting clean or girls washing their hair. I don't know if it's just our room or the whole building but it's pretty bad. Also a lot of loud kids running around the halls screaming and slamming doors; parents aren't correcting them so thinking I should step in and let the kids know when they aren't being neighborly.

Do not waste your time. The proximity to Kings Dominion is NOT worth staying here. Everything smelled like weed and cigarettes. All of the trash cans on the property were overflowing with trash all over the ground. The property was covered in cigarette butts. The AC unit was leaking puddles of water all over the floor and they said that was normal. We tried to take our daughters to the pool and there was a group of middle aged adults blasting extremely inappropriate music, smoking weed and yelling obscene language. Not to mention that the pool water was warmer than the 95 degree air so it felt disgusting. I wouldn’t let my daughters play on the play ground because, from looking around, I had no clue what they would find. We came back from breakfast at 10am on check out day (check out is at 11am) and neither of our keys worked, so we were left standing in the heat while my husband had to walk to the front of the property to get a new key. There were dogs barking all day and night in other rooms. It was all around an awful experience. Save yourself the headache ESPECIALLY if you have small kids. It’s not a family friendly environment at all.

We stayed 2 nights at this hotel because it was close to King's Dominion. It was not the cleanest hotel. Bathroom needed cleaning and saw a couple bugs. The bed was very comfortable. Pool was ok.

This was a clean, comfortable room for one night to go to Kings Dominion. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean but very small and dated. The area around the buildings could’ve been cleaner. We would stay again for a visit to the park.

My husband and I stopped here for a night with our 4 kids and our dog. We booked two rooms that were side by side. When we first got there, none of the key cards were working, but the staff was very quick to get it all straightened out, and ensured that everything was working correctly for us. There was a huge parking lot for ample parking. The hotel rooms overlooked the Kings Dominion parking lot. The rooms were decent and clean. The AC was not turned on when we got to our rooms, so it took some time for them to cool down, but not too long. There is an authentic Mexican restaurant next door that was fantastic!

Everything was fine. Clean, updated room. Quiet. Only problem we had was the outlet in the dressing room didn't work.

The hotel is located in a good location right off Route 95. The hotel lobby was clean and the staff was welcoming. The room was clean, but noisy outside the door. The walk ways were dirty and there were shoes, bikes, and trash / trash cans over flowing. The price was good for the overnight stay for my family.

It’s about the cheapest tolerable option for a night’s sleep just north of Richmond. The Herradura restaurant next door was charming with its authentic Mexican vibe—but since Trump has declared immigrants in general and Mexicans in particular to be enemies of the state, we kept expecting ICE agents to swoop in and hold everyone against the wall.

The service was friendly. The pool was fine but the area surrounding the pool could use some better upkeep as well as the playground area. The picknick area was nice and clean. The parking lot needs some repair as we had a small accident because of broken concrete parking blocks and the exposed rebar. It is a convenient walk to Kings Dominion the restaurant has really good food and service.

Out of the three rooms, one didn’t have a hair dryer at all, and another had a broken one. When we informed the front desk, they told us we could go into another room and use the hair dryer there — not exactly the most convenient fix. Also, one of the TVs had a cracked screen and didn’t work, and the bathroom paint was noticeably peeling. As for the free breakfast — technically, yes, there is something, but calling it a “breakfast” is a stretch. A few kinds of yogurt, two kinds of juice, and coffee were all that was offered. If you want something filling in the morning, I highly recommend bringing your own food. On the bright side: the hotel is very close to Kings Dominion, check-out is at 11am, there’s a nice outdoor area with a playground and space to walk, and — perhaps most importantly — there were no bedbugs. After everything else, that actually felt like a small victory. If you just need a place to sleep and don’t care too much about cleanliness or broken amenities, this place might be okay. Just keep your expectations low and your snacks ready.

I had a very bad experience with the property. The bathrooms were leaking from the top. The floors were dusty and had many spiders. The adjacent rooms were very noisy and we could even hear the next door murmurs. The adjacent rooms had a dog and there was continuous barking in the middle of the night. The breakfast option is just for namesake. Overall a terrible experience.

The rooms were not properly maintained. Door does not work, have to renew keyfobs everyday. Management not willing to help. False advertising. They should say limited breakfast served. List goes on!!

Very sketchy area, front desk staff not present, complimentary “breakfast” consisted of one orange in a bowl, a few chocolate mini muffins, and a few containers of yogurt. Rooms appeared clean but had a funky smell and lock did not work. Shower dated but good water pressure. Beds broken and noisy- we all woke up every time my son moved. Coffee was tasty though.

Next door to Kings Dominion

We know this hotel was recently renovated, and they did a great job. Some of the older features are still noticeable, but the upgrades to maintain an existing structure are great. With proximity to the park and the super comfortable beds, we will definitely stay here again!

Saw several spiders in bathroom and around the bed. No hair dryer, provided body soap was empty. Not a good variety of breakfast items either. It served purpose of a bed that was close to kings dominion and reasonable price.

The room I stayed in was specious, plenty of amenities, and was just outside the park. They also had a walkway to use to enter the parking lot on the way to the park. Overall. I had a good night's stay and ready to hit the park on its opening day to the public.

The grounds as a whole were littered with trash: cigarette butts, wrappers,etc. even a razor blade or two in the grass outside the room. I went on a walk Friday evening upon arrival and there was a man ( I believe not a guest) enjoying a six pack by himself. I’m the morning the bottles were left all over the parking lot and grass. The following morning the police were there escorting someone from there room. The amount of garbage alone was enough to deter a further stay. Unfortunately, I did not get pictures. Too busy making sure my puppy was not eating trash.

The hotel definitely needs a deep clean and some new paint, mattresses and pillows. There was something that had dripped down the bathroom door and was never cleaned and the paint is showing a lot of wear. The mattress was very squeaky and the pillows were very thin. I was impressed that there was a small kitchenette in the room and a decent size TV (larger than the typical 32”). I also accidentally left my body pillow there and when I called the hotel to see if they had it, they did cal me back to say they did in fact find it…to get it back I would have to mail them a postage paid package to have it sent back to me. Bad customer service in my opinion. Also “continental breakfast” was far from anything I would call such a breakfast. There was a machine to serve coffee and hot water, small packaged muffins and small yogurts. We stayed one night and not sure I will stay more than that.

Looks nothing like pictures online. No hot breakfast, or breakfast area,only yogurt, some type breakfast bar, orange. I wasn't familiar with the area, had no idea it was so far away from restaurants and stores, not a good location if you don't have a vehicle.The room was renovated nicely but the wifi never worked.People above my room were very loud and making noise until 2am.

The workers at this place are so sketchy and unsafe. We got locked out of our room for an hour and no one could figure it out and they were getting nasty with us like it was our fault. The one worker was completely drunk and incoherent and touched my young daughters. He cornered us in the doorway and told us we didn't have to get our stuff out until morning if we wanted to. We said absolutely not. You're not going to try and steal from us. We packed up our stuff and left immediately. We never stayed.

Convenient to kings dominion

The room was nice. But the internet was out the whole time we was there so the tv didn’t work.

I called upon arrival and spoke to someone about an early check in. The person I spoke to was very curtsy and allowed us an early check in. I am very thankful of this, drove 8 1/2 hours over night to get there and unfortunate events happing on the way we very much needed an early check in. We will stay with them every time we visit Kings Daminion. It was also very convenient being right next to the theme park we just walked over. Thank you for the lovely stay.

We tried to stay but your franchise checked someone else in our reservation and then was the manager was extremely rude and made it out that it was our fault they checked someone else else in under our reservation.

Our family decided to hit up Kings Dominion for an evening and following full day trip. I chose this property for our overnight because it appeared to be newly renovated, close proximity to KD and had some amenities that we would enjoy (mini golf, a pool and a playground). I reserved a non-smoking, 2 bed room. Upon entering the room, we were immediately greeted with an overwhelming stench on marijuana. Always fun explaining that smell to kids. The pool water was green and it was clearly not open. The mini golf turf was ripped up. The grounds were unkempt. It seems that the only renovating that was done here was a fresh coat of paint. The pictures on this listing look nothing like what we experienced. I was denied a refund and we left to go find a different place to stay for the night. Luckily, none of us contracted hepatitis, tetanus and/or scabies while on the property. I certainly hope hotels.com makes the owner of this property update their listing to reflect the actual conditions but I took some pictures to help out. Enjoy!

I filed a BBB complaint because The manager refused to consider a refund for a reservation that was made and changed just the day before, causing me to pay twice for a crappy hotel. This hotel was the worst! Nothing like the pictures. Smelled horrible! Don’t stay here! Spend your money somewhere else.

The room looked nothing like the pics online. The first room smelled awful and unclean like months of cigarette smoking took place. The second room had ashes in a cup so that wasn’t clean either. The third room smelled fresher but had issues as well. I wasn’t expecting 4 or 5 star cleanliness but a disinfected and clean room was what I paid for. These rooms are marked non-smoking rooms on orbitz. 2/3 were smoking rooms.

Never have I seen hotel rooms as dingy and dirty as these. A complete renovation is needed to bring the property up to decent standards. Or bulldoze the property and start over.

Wyndham resorts you really need to do a thorough inspection of this hotel ! Completely nasty ! Not to standards whatsoever ! The first room we got was not clean!The second room was clean The second room was clean the trash on the floor. The third room Was clean but cobwebs everywhere in the corners. Rust came out of the hot and cold side of the bathtub Fossett for a good five seconds on each side. The security door lock was broken. The toilet leaked when we got back from Kings Dominion the left side of the bed was soaked from the water from the toilet. It went through the wall. The pull out sofa was not changed it had hair from human and dog all over it. Went to the office and noticed there was several rooms with trash lingering all over the place like it was not cleaned for a few days. The parking lot was full of trash and the trash cans were overfilled completely. Other guests have no respect for the rooms as well. advertising Doswell café all over the place and the restaurant has been shut down since October and here it is now the end of December! The hairdryers in the rooms had rust on the outside of the screen! It is walking distance to Kings Dominion but spend the extra $20 and get a better room at a very high-end a hotel cross the street or very well down the road in another city. I have never ever felt so disgusted before. Do not stay here

Took my nephews to Kings Dominion for the WinterFest. They thought it was amazing to see the giant Christmas tree from our room. It was so convenient to walk over and back.

Can’t beat the proximity to Kings Dominion! Fast and friendly check in. Spacious king room that was clean and overall rather comfortable. My only complaint was that the body wash and shampoo dispensers in the shower were completely empty.

We chose this location due to the convenience of attending a wedding in the area. It was evident it hadn’t been adequately cleaned in months. For example, there was permanent brown staining on the toilet bowl lid, stink bugs in curtains, bathroom and most disturbing of all, while I attempted to brew coffee (which never worked since the machine was broken) there was a stink bug floating in the water. There were clusters of dark hair on the bathroom floor, and the shower drain cover (not secured) exposed more hair. We are severely disappointed in our expectations placed by your website with the reality of our 3 night stay. By no means was this hotel up to standards. Very disappointing!!!

It was ok room was not to clean needs up date some no coffie The quality inn That is right across the street that we usually stay . give you more than they do and they're cheaper and it's a lot nicerI had no frigerator no microwave controller for the TV didn't even work no toilet paper in the bathroom not my best hotel like I said we will go to the Quality Inn across the street before we go back there

The room was not cleaned very well, carpet had not been vacuumed, refrigerator/coffee pot dirty, and bathroom floor had hair on the floor. Very disappointing!!!

It was a nice stay

The room was clean, check-in and check-out was fast and easy. The only complaint was there was only one bath towel in the room, but I borrowed one from my brother's room. Other than that, it's a bargain for right beside King's Dominion! I'll definitely look into staying here the next time we go!

This is a very dirty hotel. The floors turned your feet black and it was obvious they're not regularly maintained. The parking lot lighting is beyond terrible. I passed the entrance 3 times as it was dark out and the entrance was not lit at all. The landscaping is very poor and greatly takes away from the curb appeal. It was cheap but I wouldn't stay here again.

Unclean floors. Cigarette holes in sheets. Bathtub had large porcelain chips. We only stayed in room for 6 hours before checking out and returning home. We could not stay overnight with the state of the room
