Our room was spacious and exceptionally clean. Breakfast included a wide variety of hot and cold items including fresh fruit that were delicious. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful until you leave. I happed to leave something in our room when we left and it was impossible to get someone to help me. It seems only housekeeping is allowed to look in the lost and found box. I left messages and couldn’t get a call back.

Unfortunately, my stay was very disappointing. Upon getting into bed late at night, I discovered a bug in the bedding, which immediately made me uncomfortable about the cleanliness of the room. I brought the issue to the hotel’s attention, but there was little effort made to accommodate the situation or provide a satisfactory resolution. As a traveler, cleanliness and peace of mind are extremely important, and this experience fell well below expectations. I ultimately chose to leave and book another hotel because I no longer felt comfortable staying in the room. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their inspection and housekeeping procedures for future guests.

Beautiful property. We thought it was brand new, but the manager told me it was 12 years old. Lots of free parking, including a dozen handicap slots by the front door. Huge, bright & airy lobby, business center and dining areas. Very polite & helpful staff. Nice, compact bar by the small kitchen adjacent to the front desk. Very complete breakfast buffet.Mizz Ava, Mizz Lisa, & Mr. Noel were especially noteworthy for their patient, friendly assistance in finding local shopping attractions. Mr. Noel even set up a Lyft ride for my wife -- via his personal account -- to find a couple of stores, while I was at a different property for a technical srminar, and the courtesy shuttle was on a long airport call. Our huge king guest room was more like a suite. The only sorta-blemish was that the only microwave ovens are near the ice machines, and are found only near the elevator lobby on even-numbered floors. Also, curiously, there was no literature in the room with info about amenities like pool, gym, business center, breakfast hours, like I am accustomed to seeing in hotel rooms. Nor were there any advertiser brochures, like pizza or sandwich delivery vendors. The small kitchen by the front desk is staffed by the desk clerks when needed, so service was impacted (slowed) by check-ins and check-outs. A double burger with "fixins" was about $13, and my chicken Caesar salad (huge!) Was about the same. Very comfortable furnishings in the lobby and huge eating area. Great place to stay!!

We really like this property. Right next to a small pond, surrounded by trees, very convenient to the freeway and to a Greenway to walk or run in the morning, across from Aldi and food options. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choices, room was great and on the back of the hotel and sides it overlooks trees or a pond. We did not notice any noise from the highway. Great hotel.

Breakfast was great. Cleanliness was good. Major issue was my bed was broken and pillows were horrible.

Our two night stay was enjoyable up until the last morning when housecleaning came in at 11:30 AM (checkout is 12 and we actually had a 1 PM late checkout) and threw away everything in the room, including food in the fridge and miscellaneous stuff we picked up at the store. We even had that “do not disturb sign” they give you on the door. The cleaning staff continued to make the bed until we asked her to leave. The front desk chalked it up to a miscommunication, but there is no excuse for clearing out a room before the typical checkout time and with guests’ belongings in it.

The location is excellent—very convenient to shopping, dining, and the Southpoint area, which made getting around easy and enjoyable. My only small surprise during the stay was noticing a few ladybugs around the room. While it didn’t take away from the overall experience, it was the one minor thing that stood out. Aside from that, everything about the stay was outstanding. I would definitely return and recommend Hyatt Place Southpoint to anyone visiting Durham!

The free breakfast is the best we have had at any hotel and has many different hot, cold and healthy choices. We have stayed here multiple times and will return again.

Kind people that worked there

I stayed there for two nights during a recent ice storm, and the staff went above and beyond by offering a buffet lunch and a buffet dinner for $5 each. Breakfast, of course, was standard, but for those of us who were stuck there due to storm, it was a pleasant surprise to be able to get additional meals for a very reasonable price.

Absolutely loved this hotel!!! The staff were amazing and the place is lovely, so convenient to many things. It's also great that the bar is open to a decent time every night and there are snacks available 24 hours. After 1 stay, this is now my go-to place to stay when visiting my friends. :)

Staff was friendly, breakfast always had unusual and healthy dishes along woth the standard fare and staff was attentive to keeping things well-stocked. Lobby was playfully decorated for Halloween. One of the displays gave our 5 year-old grandson nightmares, but that's not on the hotel!

When I mentioned it to the front desk, they were polite but didn’t seem to take any action to resolve the issue. After paying for a night’s stay, I expected at least a quiet environment to rest, which unfortunately didn’t happen. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves their handling of pet-related noise. Until then, I can’t recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful night’s sleep.

Usually we expect bottles of water offered on check in but we were told we can have water for $2.69. Hyatt is now not cleaning rooms every day. When I asked for more coffee they said we could come get it. I find the tag requesting a tip for the maid insulting too.

The only complaint I have was the cleanliness of the room. The pull out sofa had not been cleaned, there were crumbs in it, a fork, and a dirty sheet.

This is our 3rd time staying here for my daughter’s UNC soccer camp. Rooms are comfortable, breakfast is filling, and staff is friendly. Plus the location next to Southpoint Mall is always a bonus!

It was an upgrade from previous hotels I’ve stayed at in the area. Breakfast, near by restaurants , you can walk to. They had a pool side bar and inside. You could buy food in the lobby, sandwiches and salads. They didn’t charge me for parking like other hotels in the area. We will stay there again.

Our room was clean, the bed was comfy and towels were nice and fluffy. The breakfast was wonderful with lots of fresh fruit and egg selections. There was a Bonefish Grill within walking distance which we really liked. We would stay here again.. The only reason I didn't give it 4 stars on service was only one elevator worked so the wait was typically long. We ended up taking the stairs most of the time.

I enjoyed my stay. This was my second time staying at this location. I returned due to the cleanliness and friendly staff at the front desk. The only issue I had this time was that my shower kept stopping up so I was sloshing around in dirty water. Other than that, my stay was great!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. They switched us to a first floor room when they noticed my wife's limited mobility during check-in. Noel in particular helped out with getting me on the hotel WiFi. The room was very nice, and it actually was close to a short walk leading to the handicap parking spaces, so we didn't have to go halfway across the building and out through the lobby. Housekeeping did a fine job as well. Breakfast was good , too.

Property was fine. The free breakfast was good. Was there for four nights and they did not clean the room like they said they would. Fridge was loud and leaked. They charged us $2.69 for something we did not purchase and nobody was at the front desk when so tried to get it taken care of so now I will have to call them again.

Other then the mini fridge making a noise it was a pleasant stay! Breakfast was great. Staff friendly/helpful.

Convenience and parking

While checking in, the rude desk rep was on the phone with another guest...and left me standing, waiting for a good 5 minutes...and did not even bother to apologize, or even flick a smile once afterwards. The trash bins in my room were NOT emptied...one of the bath towels did NOT seem freshly cleaned...and the bed sheets were poorly tucked in. I did report this to another desk rep, and her response was rude as well. Did any of these desk reps get trained on how to greet and address guests?!? They all seemed so unprofessional. Also, the temperature in the rooms took forever to move up or down. I will never return to this location ever again.
