Continental breakfast was awesome with great selections. We were terribly disappointed that there wasn't a coffee pot, coffee, tea etc in our room or even a station in the dining area to make our own.
- 2/5
The soap dispensers in the bathroom were empty and after they filled them, they did not work. And the safe in the room did not work. And even after they said I wasn't being charged for parking, I kept getting texts sign up. The breakfast was ridiculous and the snacks were non existent. Don't waste your money staying at this place.
- 4/5
They don't tell you they don't clean the room every day. Safe in room did not work
- 4/5
Very good
- 4/5
Hotel was clean, bed was comfortable, staff was friendly. Parking is a little limited but not a problem (may be more of an issue with a large vehicle). It’s abt a 10 minute drive to UNC-CH campus (depending on traffic). I would recommend staying here and will more than likely stay here again.
- 5/5
Staff was amazing. I had an incident with my health. They made sure i had what i needed and manager even called to check on me the next day.

The property was very clean, the staff Carolyn, Monique and the Manager was very friendly and assisted with ally needs the food was very good. They made my stay enjoyable, I had a class at UNC School of Government. The staff help me type up some paperwork by allowing me to use the business center, and It was easy to get. I could walk safely to restaurant around or travel a safe distance for others. I highly recommend this hotel and this staff from 5/19-5/22. Thanks Holiday Express for a great stay!

Door in our room didn't shut all the way, no hot water the morning. We left and parking was tight.
- 5/5
The best surprise was the afternoon treats- canned dri is, chips, cookies and even ice cream!
- 3/5
It was too expensive for what they had. And then after I paid, they charged me an additional fee for nothing! They said they'd give it back to me in two weeks. I'll see. Compared to other Holiday Inn Express's this one is a disappointment. Even the breakfast wasn't up to par. And on top of everything, I got a parking ticket for being in their parking lot.
- 5/5
Comfy bed, clean room, breakfast was good. Nice stay for a 1 night work trip.
- 5/5
Daniel at the reception was very kind and helpful

Overall stay was good, good cinnamon roles. One issue with sheets but taken care of.
- 3/5
Had to pay for parking which was a surprise
- 5/5
Great selection at breakfast, clean rooms, veey helpful front desk. Will definitely stay again.
- 1/5
Was told they didn’t have a room available. After an hour finally got into a room
- 5/5
Easy access, very clean, safe area, quiet
- 4/5
Light fixture in bathroom was leaking
- 4/5
Comfortable and clean room, and staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Downsides: laundry not available in house and having to pay outside company to park
- 5/5
One night only, but property was excellent.
- 4/5
Convenient location.
- 5/5
Clean and nicely updated. Friendly staff. Great location....minutes to UNC, Durham, and Streets at Southpoint. Gas station, Starbucks, fast food steps away. My go to when I'm in the area.
- 5/5
It was a great experience
- 5/5
Pleasant staff; terrific breakfast; snacks and drinks at check-in. Wonderful experience.

Had a quick one night stay here for a basketball game and really enjoyed our experience! Staff was wonderful and friendly, rooms super clean, nice breakfast with lots of options. Hotel was quiet and had nice amenities. Great value for the price.
- 5/5
Everything was great!!
- 5/5
Good place to stay
- 2/5
Room & breakfast were ok, but the requirement to pay $10.00 to park is absurd! The hotel is not located in a metropolitan area. That’s just price gauging.
- 5/5
Everything and everyone was wonderful! 10 out of 10 recommend!!
- 5/5
Very clean and comfortable beds.
- 4/5
Everything was very nice
- 5/5
Great service but when returning on the 1st at 3am after a New Year’s party my door was locked. I went down to the front desk where the lady told me that no one was booked in my room. I told her my things are in the room and that I have the booking and showed her. She then let me in and I was able to retreat for the night. Overall great staff and very nice room
- 5/5
Clean and updated rooms.
- 3/5
Room was comfy
- 3/5
Front desk staff were basically invisible. I know it was a holiday but the first floor was deserted and did not offer a feeling of safety to an older woman traveling alone.
- 5/5
Very good all around
- 3/5
Room was clean breakfast was good room temperature was good
- 4/5
Staff was very friendly and clean facilities.
- 3/5
Clean room, comfortable bed. Had to pay to park which i thought wa ridiculous. Parking lot was very small as well especially if driving a truck. Close to everything but the paid parking was not expected.
- 1/5
You have to pay for parking when the sign in the garage clearly states that hotel guests don’t have to pay!
- 3/5
Room was fine, staff okay
- 4/5
Excellent and friendly service. Bed was not the most comfortable but the room was very clean.
- 4/5
Clean room with friendly staff. A small convenient store is a huge plus!
- 5/5
Nice stay!
- 5/5
Everything well. Great bed in good shape. Diverse pillows too. Good breakfast and everything clean. I will continue using IHG Holiday Inn Express
- 5/5
great
- 2/5
This hotel needs an upgrade. Terrible sounds coming through the walls, later found out it’s the elevator. None of the staff looks happy. Parking (whether charged or not) is not included with the stay - there is a separate app that you pay through. No real amenities at all. It’s definitely a 2 star hotel. Won’t be staying again.
- 4/5
very good
- 5/5
The shower was amazing! High shower pressure really got me going every morning.
- 3/5
Everything looks a little run down. I guess I’m a little spoiled by the location in Milwaukee. Nothing since I stayed there has compared.
- 5/5
Room was very clean, the available snacks came in handy at night, and the coffee and juice were good in the morning. The hotel provides body wash, shampoo, conditioner, liquid hand soap, and lotion, which is very nice.
- 5/5
Loved the size of our suite
- 5/5
We were surprised at home nice it was. It was our fist stay here and the staff was friendly, the room clean and the breakfast was nice to have. We would stay there again. Nothing fancy but affordable
- 3/5
The room itself was VERY noisy - the linen chute next to our room made loud noises throughout the night in addition to a very noisy refrigerator and AC unit.
- 5/5
Great location, felt safe. Rooms were nice and clean. Just a bit of a musky smell when we first walked in.
- 5/5
Very comfortable room and plentiful breakfast.
- 5/5
The bed was comfortable and everything was very clean which is what is most important in a hotel room.
- 5/5
Very clean room.
- 5/5
Front desk staff were very friendly

- 5/5
The person who checked me in was super helpful and one of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. The beds were extremely comfortable in the fridge kept my stuff very cold. I stayed there because my two-year-old was having surgery in the morning and it was super close to the hospital.
- 5/5
Wonderful place to stay
- 4/5
Unaware that parking is not free which is common in metro areas but this was far from metro. And, when paying online for parking, the website NEVER showed me how much I was paying for parking. The exercise room was a joke...3 cardio machines but no weights, towels or (I believe) water.
- 3/5
Found a roach crawling on the desk this morning. Staff was very nice.
- 4/5
I was surprised by the parking fee of $12. Unconventional in this area.
- 3/5
It was ok but won’t stay there again
- 5/5
Good. Quiet
- 5/5
Loved the cleanliness of the room and bathroom specially so with Dove supplies. Breakfast was good.
- 2/5
won't recommend
- 1/5
Pay for parking, room next to a freaking elevator, literally, front desk female staffer not customer friendly, could not contact EXPEDIA to help with dispute, I’m done using them. Will tell folks on social media some of the pit falls I’ve learned using their 3rd party lame service.
- 5/5
Very quiet and clean!
- 3/5
The negatives are parking is an extra $11.50 and the pool is not on site. The pool is shared with the hotel next door.
- 5/5
It was great. The hotel was really nice with comfortable beds, LED bathroom mirror, and free coffee/breakfast. The staff member at the front desk was amazing.
- 4/5
I had to shorten my trip, and they were very cooperative, and made it very easy to adjust.
- 5/5
We needed a last-minute hotel stay. My husband was scheduled for day surgery at UNC. Late the day before we were informed he had to check in at the hospital at 5:30 am. Being that we live over 50 miles away, we needed to quickly find an overnight hotel stay. Based on reviews and the closeness of this hotel to UNC Hospitals, we booked with Holiday Inn Express Chapel Hill by IHG. Everything was perfect for our needs. Close to the hospital, a reasonable room fee, clean rooms, and friendly staff. However, we didn't realize that to stay at this hotel, there is a fee to park on the hotel property. We paid $10 plus a $1.50 service fee to park in the hotel parking lot during our stay from approx 4pm Wednesday night til 5:30 am Thursday morning. That was a little unusual in our past hotel experiences as we never had to pay to park at a hotel where we paid to stay. Maybe that's usual at Chapel Hill Hotels? Regardless, I recommend this hotel, as long as you are aware of the additional parking fee.
- 5/5
Very clean and quiet with pleasant staff...
- 5/5
Clean, quiet, decent breakfast, very comfortable bed. Service was friendly and I have no complaints. Yes, there is a parking fee - you have to read the fine print.
- 5/5
Perfect! Clean, modern, easy on/off of I-40!
- 5/5
Property was nice and clean. Staff was professional and friendly.
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. Site was close to freeway.
- 3/5
I like the place was a quiet
- 5/5
Excellent staff and facilities!
- 5/5
The staff was nice, hotel was clean and breakfast was good!
- 5/5
The property was clean, and the staff was very courteous. It looks like it had been renovated recently.
- 4/5
I liked the location for the event that I attended. The staff was very professional and helpful. The room was clean. I did not like that the blinds did not consistently go up and down. I did not expecting to pay $11 per day for parking as a guest the hotel.
- 5/5
Good front desk
- 5/5
Great place
- 3/5
The room was fine. The bed was comfortable. The A/C worked well. ESPN was the only TV channel that wouldn't come through. One major issue: when we returned to the room in the evening, the door was not latched shut. Anyone could have entered. The housekeeping staff must not have pulled the door shut. Fortunately nothing was missing.
- 4/5
Big Con: you have to PAY EXTRA for parking!!
- 3/5
Was OK for a cheap place, but the $11 per night was a surprise
- 5/5
Room was exactly what we needed. Staff was super friendly and the breakfast was great
- 5/5
I found the staff to be the highest quality. Friendly, helpful and just very nice people. I have returned to this particular hotel twice since my first stay in February for that reason
- 1/5
Reserved a king bed….did not get one. Hotel is old and dated, beds were awful….I would have paid 2X as much to staysomewhere else had I known
- 5/5
Great staff
- 2/5
We were surprised to find a $10 parking charge at Holiday Inn Express—something that wasn't disclosed upfront. Feels like an unfair and sneaky fee.
- 4/5
I don't appreciate the having to pay to park at a hotel. its actually ridiculous that i have to pay for something that should be given that is included. what's next? having to pay to flush the toilet? do better.
- 5/5
Excellent staff
- 4/5
The hotel was nice and close to the highway
- 5/5
Was very clean & staff were helpful
- 2/5
Staff was very brisk/rude when checking in. And it seems pretty ridiculous to have to pay for parking. Otherwise a mediocre experience.
- 5/5
Comfortable. Clean. Great location.
- 5/5
Had to pay to park - the website does say fees, but does not tell you that you have to pay to park. Not a fan of this.
- 3/5
Hotel was nice. I did not like having to pay for parking at a HI Express to stay at the hotel. I know everyone charges but it sucks
- 5/5
Convenient safe place close to the university. Everything was within a short drive.
- 5/5
Had to pay to park , but really nice hotel and nice staff.
- 4/5
There is no pool as is advertised. Quote disappointing after a long day.
- 4/5
Quiet
- 5/5
Great location. God service.
- 5/5
I had 2 situations . My room wasn’t clean after I returned from the hospital. Trash and no towels. Hair was in my tub when I first checked in and I went and bought my own supplies and cleaned my tub.I did reached out to Miss Ray and she did give me towels. I truly appreciate her for helping me out. I will not let this discourage me from coming back. I definitely will be there very soon. Thx
- 5/5
My only drawback is having to pay for parking. Never had to do that at a hotel before. But its not enough to cause me to leave a bad review.
- 1/5
I was booked for a king size bed and was given a double queen room instead even after my iteniary said king bed , charged to park in a motel that i just paid to spend the night and then 25.00 froze on my account just in case ee mesed the room up. I wil never stay here again. But the ladies at the desk were great and very understanding. They tried!
- 5/5
Five stars
- 4/5
Perfecto location , and. As always, great breakfast
- 4/5
Parking not good. No signage
- 5/5
Great location. Clean room. Short and perfect stay.
- 5/5
I like the comfort of the rooms and the breakfast buffet
- 2/5
So many kids in the hotel made for crowded entry/exit way also forget trying to get breakfast/coffee. Second time this situation. We will choose new place to stay
- 5/5
The room was clean and the staff was very friendly. I wasn’t very happy with the new parking fee charge though.
- 5/5
Very good stay
- 5/5
Breakfast was great and the place was clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. Would stay here again.
- 4/5
And customer is not aware before hand.
- 5/5
Clean and convenient. I did not know there was a parking fee until check in. I do not appreciate a fee for parking when I’ve paid to stay.
- 4/5
I did not like that there was paid parking and it wasnt stated on website. There was nothing extra, no guards, no private gate or anything.
- 3/5
The front desk staff, dining room and cleaning staff were all professional and friendly - service was great. Room was clean and the location was convenient. However, the $11/night parking fee was not shown when making a reservation and was a shock. We have never paid for parking at a hotel unless in NYC, DC or Boston. We will not return unless the room rate + the parking fee are competitive! On top of that - four (4) cars were broken into one night when we were there - not our car. But there are no security cameras in the lot where guests have to PAY to park!! CRAZY!
- 5/5
Very nice service
- 5/5
Everything works like it is supposed to be.
- 3/5
I have stayed at this location several times while getting medical treatment in Chapel Hill and been very pleased with the hotel. So naturally I made my reservation at your hotel for 1/7/25 without any concern. Upon arrival, the front desk employee was most welcoming and obviously is extremely well versed in quality customer service. My problem came when she asked if I had read the sign about parking and I asked her to elaborate and I am told that there is now a second bill I must pay to be able to park my car!! If this was the case, a guest with a reservation should have been informed of this at the time the reservation was being made. The website did not mention a parking fee and I have never paid one before. It was $11 to park and my thought is that should have been incorporated into the room fee if it was that important. I do not know what led to this situation, but as a customer Iif you can’t provide a spot for customers to park, then they would not be staying it your hotel. Honestly this may become a deal breaker for me, as I feel that was the straw that broke the camels back, so to speak. And to put the final wrench in my stay - I grabbed a cup of coffee, orange juice and a yogurt for breakfast - the yogurt was half of a serving! Has business gotten that bad that you can’t serve a serving of yogurt and have customers pay to park. Very disappointed in Holiday Inn Express, as your hotels had always been my choice of hotels for overnight business trips.
- 5/5
This is our second stay at this location. Both times we have found it to be clean, accommodating, and affordable. The staff is friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast bar is outstanding.
- 5/5
We enjoyed our stay. The staff was friendly and professional. The rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Breakfast had lots of options for even the pickiest if eaters. We will return when in the area again!
- 2/5
Two things I did not like. We are away from an urban areas and there is still an $11.50 per day charge for parking. I have stayed at Holiday Inn Express hotels at many places and never had to pay for parking. Second, not distilled or bottled water in the room. The reasonable price of the hotel does not include the additional expenses incurred.
- 5/5
My stay was amazing
- 3/5
Rude person in the front desk
- 1/5
I cannot believe that I am having to pay for parking at a Holiday Inn. I will NOT stay at one again.
- 5/5
Was clean and quiet …staff was helpful and very nice
- 5/5
Clean, safe location, large bathroom, friendly front desk staff. You do have to pay for parking, though. The breakfast began at 6:30 am the day I was there, which was too late for my needs, so I did not get to use that benefit. But I do plan to stay here again.
- 5/5
Very clean and the room was spacious with a refridgerator, microwave and coffee machine. TV with many program choices.
- 5/5
Everything was great…. Charging for parking, never experienced that before…. But I get it…. Everyone is trying to make a buck….
- 5/5
Clean
- 4/5
Paying extra daily for parking at the facility youre paying to stay at is terrible. .
- 3/5
I was extremely disappointed that I had to pay to park. Then they needed a credit card for “incidentals.” And they charged another $25 to be refunded if I didn’t get incidentals. No extras in bathroom such as shampo, bar soap, etc. I treaded asking for items normally in a bathroom for fear of being charged for incidentals. At least there was an extra roll of toilet paper. Amazing. Expedia should publish charges for parking.
- 5/5
Great value, very clean, friendly staff!
- 5/5
Holiday Inn Express Chapel Hill, an IHG Hotel is an excellent option, its service quality is much more than excellent. My family and I enjoyed our stay. Thank you to all the amazing staff. ✨💕🙏
- 4/5
Like it's location for our event and ease in getting into and out of area. Didn't like the fact that only 2 carts for clothes and bags for entire hotel. Had to make 3 trips from room to car to pack when leaving. Left me breathless and super tired due to my heart health.
- 3/5
Why do you charge a fee to park? It isn’t anywhere near a large city where parking is hard to come by. Raise your price to cover your parking expenses.
- 4/5
Hotel was fine. We were surprised that parking was not free—guess we should have read the deets more carefully. Convenient location.
- 4/5
My wife and I traveled through 9 different states and this facility was the most expensive, even without taking the extra for parking into consideration.
- 5/5
Nice hotel
- 3/5
You have to pay to park here - $10/night and that is not included in the price. Also, we heard everything in the room above us…so if you need a quiet place to sleep this may not be the one for you (or ask to be placed on the top floor).
- 3/5
M
- 5/5
This location was perfect and convenient. The price was great as well.
- 5/5
Has trouble with the control and took 3 visits to the front desk before we could get it solved. They were not very concerned. Did not like to have to pay for parking.
- 2/5
I wanted a refund since I didn’t keep the reservation I drove home
- 2/5
Had to pay extra to separate company for parking in hotel lot. In-room AC was very noisy. Coffee maker did not work. Staff was not accommodating when I requested one extra towel. Breakfast was below average. Convenient to UNC and bed was comfortable. Would have been fine with normal rates but not for tripled rates for homecoming.
- 5/5
Easy to check in. Friendly staff. Very clean room. Quiet.
- 3/5
I didn’t like the fact that when I booked the property sometime back, there was no mention of a $10 parking fee which on top of that they charge a $1.50 service fee
- 2/5
Broken TV. Broken window shade
- 5/5
Great breakfast with lots of options - parking isn’t free ($10 per 24 hours) but overall great hotel
- 4/5
I don’t like the charge for Parkin !!!
