    The shower, when it was time to leave. The beds were ok. Tv didnt work, the phone didnt, next to a homeless camp. The toilet had to be plunged every time you used it. There were some bugs when my boy woke up. Not sure where they came from.

    Upon my arrival to the hotel the entry was very nice for the lounge area. I did notice that it was some items on the other side that were boxed so I assumed it was some renovations going on. Customer service was on point and the gentleman was very accommodating but I must say I was very disappointed in how the hotel was. First and foremost on the welcome screen there were images from the Bistro and when I asked what time was breakfast or how do I order what was being displayed I was told it wasn’t a Bistro which meant I had to pay for my dining while there which wasn’t a problem but just like most travelers I was looking forward to what was being displayed. Secondly, the first room I got to the couch had stains and the bedding and bathtub was dirty. I went back downstairs to discuss with front desk and he upgraded my room which was slightly better. While wanting to relax on the balcony that was offered, it was no balcony furniture and I had the view of old furniture gathered outside as well as big trash bins that could be rented so I did not enjoy that. This Sonesta and the Sonesta in Cary, NC are nothing alike which I was expecting the same layout. I started to read the reviews and previous customers talked about bed bug issues, funky smells from the rooms, and overall not satisfied with the hotel. Luckily, I did not encounter bed bugs but I did go to the local Dollar Tree and purchased cleaning products and wiped around in the room. Overall, I will not be going back.

    Plenty of parking. Good places to eat close by. I feel safe. Rooms are clean. Very central location in the RDU area. Very little staff. Always pleasant and brief.

    The staff were rude. Especially the front desk staff Neil. Every other day they had no clean towels and breakfast coffee wasn’t always hot! No continental breakfast but they had a setup to provide breakfast! Front desk staff never dressed professionally.

    Secure parking. However, I should’ve known something was wrong when I noticed a lot before smelly cardboard from them storing furniture in the lobby or when I step into the elevator and saw a chipped panel. That should’ve been an indication. But instead I proceeded to the room and once I got there on immediately notice it smelled like cigarettes. Which says a lot coming from a cigarette smoker. The room just didn’t feel cleaned at all I pulled back the sheets I didn’t see any stains but the overall condition and cleanliness of the room didn’t sit well with me. There was trash behind the nightstand around the corners of the wall. There was a chip in the wall near the closet and the furniture was very motel esq. I didn’t even put my stuff down .we gathered our things went back to the lobby ,left the key on the desk , and left without actually staying in the room we paid for . I’m not usually bougie or too good to sleep somewhere but I just couldn’t comfortably lay down and relax in that room

    At check-in had to call for sheets and pillows for the sofa bed and towels for the amount of guests as there wasn’t enough. Stingy on other amenities like cups and in room coffee pods. Not enough for the three registered guests. King mattress was comfy. Great pillows. Coffee was ok and available until noon in the lobby. Staff was very friendly.

The sitting chair had lots of hair from the earlier guest. There are no trash bags in the room. I have to ask the front desk for a trash bag.     The hotel was not anything like what it was presented on line. It smelled, there was trash in the hallways overnight. Our pillow cases were dirty, the bedding looked old and ragged, the noise from the road was loud, there was a homeless encampment next to the hotel that we could see out our window and there was no housekeeping for our 5 rooms the entire time we were there Thursday-Sunday

    This property has so much potential if it was run properly! Rooms outdated, no soap in bathrooms in common areas, staff not friendly at all. No daily housekeeping, no breakfast just coffee in the morning that was always out and no napkins . Building is nice looking, Parking was easy , just a shame what a little care could make this property great!

    The property is not well kept. The chairs in the lobby has various stains on them and need to be steam cleaned. My room was extremely muggy and the room had an overall weird smell to it. The wall paper in the room was peeling in various places throughout the room. I asked for towels at 12pm. I was told they would be delivered. I left out and returned at 4pm and the towels still hadn’t been delivered. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this facility.

    Front desk staff extremely friendly & helpful. Service staff extremely rude. Needed towels. Told by front desk to sit towel & trash outside door. Went straight back to room as the housekeeper was next door. My wife stated she passed right by the room. When she asked for towels. The housekeeper refused. Totally ignored us & got on her phone to call someone. Had to go right back down the elevator to the front desk. Supervisor went back up with me. Instructed her to leave towels for us & pick up the trash. The interaction with this particular housekeeper made our stay very unpleasant.

    This is a budget hotel in a good location for getting to Durham, Chapel Hill and Raleigh. The hotel is dated but kept clean. Nothing fancy here but for travelers who don’t want to spend hundreds for a room it works. Staff are very nice and helpful.

    The room was dirty upon arrival. It was trashy and the revoked smelled as if someone just smoked . They also made me deposit $100 to get access to the room although I booked through Expedia. I asked for clean towels and bed spread and the representative was disrespectful. I drove 6 hours to the hotel and did not stay. I arrived at 6:54pm checked out 8pm. As I was checking out the lady did not seem to care or adjust my room situation. I did not deserve this treatment or messy room. I have proof of my arrival time and my checking out time via my State Farm Safe Drive App that pin points my every move. I also have pictures of the room that was not as described.

    The staff was helpful, but the room was dusty and run down. Smelled bad. TV didn’t work, so front desk helped us. Someone had unplugged it which was impossible to see in the cramped area. My husband had to reset the TV once it came back on. All in all it’s a very run down property.

    One advertisement said the hotel had a restaurant, which it did - but it was closed; all the advertisements showed a comfortable outdoor sitting area - it was in storage until after Memorial Day. Room was ok, but in need of updating…. All-in-all, I would say there are many other much better options at comparable rates that I would select on my next stop in Durham….

    We booked one room, and within 30 minutes had to request another due to the complete lack of cleanliness and hygiene. Room #1: Not “a little dirty”—this was never cleaned. Used disposable douche bottle in the shower Feminine napkin strips on the bathroom floor At that point, we weren’t guests—we were questioning sanitation standards. We requested another room thinking it was a one-off. Room #2: Same issue, different layout. Ceiling looked like it might cave in Furniture torn up like it doubled as a scratching post Black mold on the bathroom ceiling Hair all over the floor Hallways smelled strongly of cigarette smoke despite being a non-smoking facility. We checked in on the 18th and checked out within 2 hours. That’s not a stay—that’s a failed inspection. Ended up paying $650 at the DoubleTree nearby just to get a clean room—the bare minimum this hotel couldn’t provide. Overall vibe? Less hotel, more hourly-use energy. No exaggeration—if anything, this is restrained. Final verdict: If cleanliness matters at all, avoid this place.

    My room was not turned/cleaned before I arrived. I was put into a dirty room that had old/used bed sheets and a dirty bathtub to the point that I couldn't even take a shower. To make a long story short, I was switched into 4 different rooms as each room that they offered was dirty. They told me housekeeping didnt work on weeekennds so there wasn't anyone available to clean the rooms. This should be illegal and is a complete violation of state health codes as they are offering rooms that are not being turned over. I was so disgusted that I left after staying 1/2 a Day and I'm now requesting a full refund. The fact that I was constantly offered and was shown rooms that were dirty with pubic hairs in the bed/bed sheets and dirty bathrooms/showers is disgusting. I took pictures and plan to escalate this, especially if my refund isn't granted.

    Only needed a place to stay overnight - area was fine and lobby looked freshly remodeled. The room however was pretty gross. Stains on the carpet, broken mirrors, dirt on the walls. I would only recommend if you need a place close to the airport.

    The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows were flat, my room was adjacent to a busy road that kept me awake at night, and there were 2 packets of coffee for a 5-night stay. When I stopped by the desk for more, they would not give me any. The trash was removed and the towels changed the day before I left. Not a good experience for an expensive hotel.

    Balcony door was open to room security risk which made me feel very unsecure it was 30 degrees. no HEAT or hot water front desk was not helpful at first. After arriving back to the room still no heat moved to the room across the hall but again no hot water. Lady at the front was not helpful and was very passive and came off very rude.

    The rooms carpet was dirty, the bed was very hard and the mattress was bumpy and very uncomfortable. Also we looked out the window to see our view and saw a bunch of homeless people and tents and trash with a dog barking all hours of the day and night. Very bad experience.

    I stayed to 2 nights and there was no cleaning service provided each day. I had to ask for clean towels, which were never delivered. I ended up having to get the towels from the front desk. The property was designed to host a breakfast, but nothing was offered. There was only 1 very small garbage can in the room. It filled quickly and again, there was no cleaning service provided.

    The property is pretty quiet for the most part. I was on the end near the exit door so I heard people coming and going through the night. Even though it says no smoking, the weed smoke nearly suffocated me waking me up and I reported it to the front desk. It didn't stop anything. The property was clean an updated for the most part. The area is not too bad. Just always watch your surroundings in any new city.

    Stepping off the elevator it smelled so good. Entering the room it smelled horrible. I found what looked like a herb pill on the floor, a piece of rustic jewelry and it needed a goo vacuum. I arrived at 4pm to check in but had to wait for someone to return to the desk for about 20 minutes

    The room wasn't clean. There was a ball of tissue in front of the bed. The sheet had a weird red stain on it. When I got in, the desk has a dried substance on it that I had to ask for a wipe to clean it. There were random popcorn kernels on the floor and I asked in the morning if someone could vacuum and it never happened. I was locked out of the building when I arrived from being out - the sliding doors were locked and the person that was supposed to be at the desk was in the back office watching something. I will never come here again. The only good thing about it is that the rooms are cheap, but you get what you pay for.

    Never stay at this hotel!!No maid service after 5. No clean linen provided for the pullout sofa. The pillows were small.the mattress had lint balls. I was give Zep spray to tone down the smell of urine. The front desk clerk showed no empathy!! He stated he couldn’t give me a new room because the hotel was full for that night! All in all it is the worst hotel ever

    The first room I checked into the room had not been cleaned and the towels were on the floor and chair, along with the bed not being made. The second room was better - but be prepared to wipe down the handles and desk area. There was a dead stinkbug on the curtain and no hair dryer in room. You could smell folks were smoking weed in the evening, and there is a small non-disruptive homeless camp in the forested area behind the hotel. The side of the bed that was nearest the door was like sleeping in a pit - I had to turn the mattress around to sleep flatly. Definitely a good price point, the staff were amazing and I felt safe.

    The staff was very "matter of fact" and not very hospitable. The site does not advertise that a $100 deposit is mandatory at check in and will not be refunded for 3-5 business days. Pillows were soiled, keys had to be reprogrammed each time I left the room. The fire alarm went off at 6am and the front staff person was not around. The guest assisted each other with leaving the hotel until the fire department arrive. The staff never addressed the guest about this incident. I will not stay at this hotel chain again.

    I booked a handicap accessible room over a month before my scheduled stay. I even called the hotel after I booked on Travelocity and confirmed that I wouod have an accessible room with an accessible tub instead of shower. I was assured my request would be fulfilled. When I checked in, they said they had no accessible rooms available and that I didn't make reservations for one. I showed them my confirmation stating I was confirmed for an accessible room with 2 queen beds. They again said they had none avaliable and asked if they could put me in a regular room for the night. I was in Durham for a 5-night stay and it was midnight by this time, so I said okay, but had to have an accessible room the next day. The tegular room they gave me was apparently the last room available and was the dregs of all the room. I could barely get to the bed because the dresser was so close, part of the blackout curtain was ripped down and would barely close enough to prevent a view into the room from the parking lot, and another part of the curtain had a long vertical rip that I had to hold closed with a couple of my hair clips. The worst part was I physically could not get to the bathtub, as my electric chair could not fit between the toilet and around the door. I am a full leg amputee and have to use my electric chair to navigate right up to things. I was in town to got to a funeral for my best friend and couldn't even bathe before going to it. I'm still so upset.

    We were not pleased with the room. The bed looked slept in . The room had an unpleasant order . The dresser and desk legs had mold which my daughter to have an asthma attack at night .     The father and son checking in after us went to bring their things to their room and found the door propped open with the safety latch and someone laying in one of the beds watching tv. This is the first place I have ever been so appalled that I kept all of my bags and shoes up on tables and the desk because I didn’t feel comfortable with them being on the floor overnight. If you don’t mind sleeping in your car, that would be like a luxury experience instead of staying in this place.

    When I checked in the person made we wait until he wiped down his desk and chair. For seriously 5 minutes.     The carpet had stains the lights flickered in the lamp and one of the bulbs was fully out the curtain was pulled down from the track and mirror had a crack in it and the whole place smelled like weed but the service was really good there were no bedbugs and the pillows felt nice and the sheets were still white which was good. There were unrepaired holes and cracks in the walls. I felt unsafe leaving the room by myself or leaving my daughter in the room. The lobby was nice and presentable but the rest of the hotel was in disrepair.

    You asked about my stay and cleanliness so I say this. The first room we were given appeared to have fleas in the carpet. This could have been helped perhaps by vacuuming the carpet. My experience was that my legs and feet were being bitten by something the minute I walked into the room. My husband complained and we were moved to another room. The biting and scratching stopped after we were moved moved to another room.

    I really appreciated how kind & patient the front desk person was when we checked in and how they go above and beyond to help and accommodate their guest's needs. And the rooms are beautiful and clean with plenty of space & the area seems serene and silent. Definitely one of the better options for a hotel in the RTP area!

    Property suppose to have Breakfast but when we checked in, we were told no breakfast. In the morning coffee is available but it was like medicine, like stale, nasty. Sink counter is too small and the sink and bathtub was clogged up so first night had to get maintenance to clean it out with a snake. Also, shower handle to turn on the water is broken falling out of the wall so had to be careful to not pull on it. The shampoo smelled like sewage and conditioner was like milk. Shower gel smelled normal. The carpet under the AC unit was wet so there must be a leak underneath somewhere. When I noticed it was on the third day so I did not fuss. The carpet in the room was stained all over the place. One side of the bed lamp and plug did not work so my husband and I had to switch sides so he could charge his phone( this one might be nick picking but with all the things that is wrong, might as well it be known). The hall ways stunk like mildew and/or sometimes pot. Workout room was available which was good but also stunk.

    First off… the room was great. Very clean, hot water, great bed. That’s said…beyond the fact that check in involved the least interaction possible on behalf of the person checking me in. No big deal. I don’t require good customer service while checking in. It’s a formality. What I do have an issue with is the five beeps. The five beeps produced by the smoke detector in the hallway outside of the room. Every 30 seconds 5 beeps. Like clock work. The first time I brought it up to the staff I was given a “oh yeah, someone is going to fix that”. And surprisingly NOTHING was done. So the second time it was brought up with me saying “is anything going to be done about the beeping sound?” (Mind you this was 3pm and I was facing the thought of sleeping through another night of beeping) I was given a “yes, the staff will fix it in the morning”.

    This was the first place I booked and when I got there, it was disgusting. It smelled like mildew and cigarettes. The rooms were disgusting and they even move me to another room and it was equally disgusting. Then when I requested to get my money back because I refuse to stay there They said no and it’s either you use it or you lose it and then when they talk to the hotels.com rep they told her that if I paid more money, I could get a better room. I assume whenever you are staying at a hotel it should be clean and if I have to pay more money to get a clean room that is absolutely crazy. This hotel is disgusting and they should be shut down.

    The first room that we were checked into, had such a strong odor it smelled like mold, I immediately asked to be moved to another room because of the foul odor. I was then moved into the room directly across from the first one and it reeked of mold as well. The carpet in the room was damp and the water in the shower and sink did not drain. I have stayed at other Sonestas and this location unfortunately did not me the average Sonesta standards. Very dissatisfied.

    Staff were nice. It was clean and quiet. The property is outdated. The property looks completely different from the online pictures. The pool was only 3-4ft which were many of the surrounding hotel pools. My suite didn’t have a microwave so I had to keep going to the lobby to heat my food up and the microwave wouldn’t heat it up completely. That was a total inconvenience. I also had to go to the lobby to get my own towels. It was nice for a last minute stay but I would not recommend. It’s not for me

    Admittedly this is a budget hotel but there’s no excuse for a property in this condition to be operating. In addition to trash all over the hallways, elevator, stairwells, the place smelled of cigarette smoke and other long lasting unpleasant orders. I had to get another room because my initial room toilet was leaking on the floor and constantly running. Phone system seems to be disconnected so I had to go back to the desk to complain and get another room. The new room key didn’t work so I had to go down to desk again. New room didn’t have toilet issues but I woke up to find bugs crawling all over the bathroom floor. I packed up and left as quickly as I could.

    I would give -5 stars if I could! It was filthy! The carpet hasn't been vacuumed in forever. The tile was sticky. The pool was green! After travelling, we wanted to relax in the pool, but nope! The air conditioner leaked on the carpet and soaked my paperwork and shoes. The curtains were actually torn up at the rods and wouldn't close all the way. The ceiling in front of the elevators was leaking. The whole hallway we stayed in smelled like weed. We believe there was a prostitute staying/living there with her pimp, as several different men came and went through the side door. It was horrible! I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH... DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

    That property was NOT as advertised. This hotel.was a bit ran down, outdated, and smelled old. They need new carpet, the windows was stain and could barely see thur them, the elevator was scary, and the second floor well i almost had to bind over because my head was nearly touching the ceiling. I booked for 2 days but after the first night and the 10 working television channels later. I just checked out a day early and went home.

    The owners/managers of this property are not making repairs and must be cutting back on services that are expected during hotel stays. I stayed for 8 nights and finally had to request cleaning, fresh sheets and towels, toilet paper, coffee refills, trash emptied etc after I had been there 4 nights. Towel bar would not stay on wall, phone to front desk was disconnected, there was no remote for the tv. There were stains on the carpeting. The reviews were not accurate. Not a good experience.     Got in about 9 pm from intenational flight, so was exhausted. First hit with the surprise 100 damage deposit(?) dont think I had been aware of that especially because it was a $90 room. Guess i should have known, you get what you pay for. bedding was clean, no bugs, BUT carpet was so filthy I left my socks on, bathroom floor had shoe prints on it, and furniture was disgusting.     We did ask if we were to stay again and didn’t have a car did they have a courtesy bus for the airport but they didn’t which is a shame.
