There was no hot water Monday morning and no sense of urgency to repair. I was told the engineer doesn’t come in until 7am. Unfortunately my uber pick up was 7:05, so my family was unable to shower. Unacceptable

Good location, clean and quiet...
- 5/5
The breakfast is a nice feature: good choices and good price.
- 5/5
The room was nice the ac works really well and can't complain.
- 5/5
The breakfast was impressive. Close to restaurants and metra
- 2/5
Dining environment was dirty, plates and silver work were extremely dirty and disgusting. Our room looked super old and not so delightful.
- 4/5
Carpets in the elevator were dirty. The air in the hallway and room has some stingy smell. The bathroom had no air exhaust and was very smelly. The bed was comfortable and the lighting in the room was pleasant.

Cloth napkins and utensils for later breakfast diners would be nice. Keeping water container in lobby better filled throughout the day would be appreciated. Overall, good stay and good location. Bed and pillows were great!
- 5/5
100% satisfied. I was a little worried from some of the reviews, but very happy I stayed here. Staff, location to both el station and downtown Evanston, we had a great view of the city and great price.
- 4/5
Staff breakfast and parking were great! Only the room smell liked some one was smoking in the room before.

- 4/5
Nice rooms, wonderful beds and pillows. The bathroom had no exhaust fan so one shower turned the whole room into a foggy sauna! And there were three of us that had to take showers in there. The parking situation is creepy and not very handy. You have to bump your suitcases down a flight of stairs to get into the hotel from the parking garage. That was difficult for us because we were three girls with a lot of stuff. The hotel personnel were very nice and very accommodating in getting us extra pillows and towels.
- 3/5
The walls are paper thin so if your neighbor puts their tv on at night you may hear it. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean.

Room got cleaned every day. Hotel is clean and pleasant. Great location.

Polite staff and location I am still owed a reimbursement that has not been put back on my Citibank Debit card. I have gone back to the hotel to follow up and each time, I am told that the reimbursement has been deposited into my account. I went to Citibank again today and the money is not in my account. PLEASE HELP!!!

I appreciate the cleanness of the room. It needs some updates, but it didn’t bother me. The location is very convenient to walk to everywhere I want to go. Thanks.
- 4.5/5
The front desk was mostly very helpful and I did not have any trouble at all, especially the person who helped me check in and kept my luggage while I was out for lunch on the day of arrival. The breakfast was also good and healthy. I enjoyed my stay very much! The best part was the view from my room! Loved looking at Lake Michigan against the Evanston skyline.. The location was a bonus because I could walk to Northwestern university very easily for work. There was one person in the front desk who seemed a bit rude. I do not know her name, but she seemed cold and grumpy to me but the rest of them who helped me were really nice and kind.

The staff. How friendly, patient and helpful they are.
- 4.5/5
Great location, super nice staff, VERY comfortable bed! At first glance, outside and parking appear less than appealing. A few flaws in room, towel quality.

- 4/5
Good location, I really like the microwave. Room was clean and bed comfortable. Front desk lady could have been more friendly and helpful. I sought help twice and both times had to wait for her to be back to front desk. She was also uninterested in providing assistance.
- 5/5
The breakfast was delicious and fresh
- 5/5
Clean room convenient location
- 4/5

- 2/5
Parking was OK
- 5/5
Great location, clean, good staff
- 5/5
Great stay
- 3/5
Parking is feels safe and is easy. Room rates were pricey considering the overall condition of the building. Only a single elevator was in operation during our stay so waits were long. The hotel in general is fine but could use some updating.
- 5/5
One of the elevators was out of order. The second one worked. Minor inconvenience.
- 5/5
Super helpful and kind staff. Good location.
- 3/5
The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The room, however needs a complete redo. Way outdated and mismatched carpet, wallpaper, drapes, the beds had a dust ruffle that looked like it just came out of the package from Temu. It was way outdated and wrinkled. I haven't seen a dust ruffle like that in at least 25 years. The granite on the bath vanity had been severely damaged, likely from using the wrong cleaning products. The buffet breakfast was in a room that was dirty. The containers for the silverware had debris in the bottoms. The bread items were stale. The milk was in a 1 gallon and half gallon containers directly from a grocery store that was touched by all who used it. It was unsanitary.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, very clean, and great location. I didn’t have any complaints.

Clean room. Great location.

- 5/5
Love my experience here ,very helpful and friendly staff. Clean rooms and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and delicious.
- 5/5
Parking was my personal favorite.
- 5/5
This would be the PERFECT hotel if there was a pool! I love the staff, the location is fantastic, the parking is reasonable and connected to the hotel. I have stayed here twice in the last six weeks and both times were wonderful. The breakfast buffet is FANTASTIC and it's $10 a person. I absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a soft place to land
- 5/5
I will definitely stay here next time I visit my brother in Evanston. I'd like to request the same room!
- 5/5
The price of parking is included in hotel rate which is awesome for north Chicago. The area around the hotel is beautiful, too.
- 4/5
Clean, pretty location with the church next door. Rooms are quite even with neighbors and the metro station right across the street. Rooms are clean and well maintained, the beds comfortable and the ac in our room was not too loud which was nice. Streets were decently plowed when it snowed. This property doesn’t have stairs to the main lobby from any of the above floors. Using the elevator constantly was hard for me as I have chronic vertigo (the movement of the elevator being a pretty heavy trigger). The lower floor of the parking garage did pool with water when it rained and the parking garage is super dark with very little lighting.
- 4/5
Parking garage is cramped and dirty. The one day I wanted to have the breakfast buffet, the restaurant was closed without explanation.
- 3.5/5
Breakfast was great. Bathrooms are out of date. One elevator was down.
- 5/5
Breakfast was great this a good area easy to walk
- 3/5
Had to call to the front desk to find out where I turned the light on in my bathroom ecause the towel rail and towels were blocking its view. Spent way too much time looking for light switch. Guest next door checked in and was talking so loudly from 3am to 4 am. I did not report. Room has seen better days; wall paper peeling. Check in staff great as well as breakfast staff.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfortable
- 3/5
Water coming out of the shower was lack of pressure due to the broken diverter in the shower spout, same as the last time when I stayed in this hotel! I did mention this in the review of my last stay. However it seems that this hotel really don't pay any attention to customer's reviews... ... They also cancel breakfast without any notice!
- 2/5
Old hotel , smelly carpets, bad parking
- 5/5
Roger was wonderful and a blessing.
- 5/5
The room was very clean. Staff very respectful and reliable. I recommend this place.
- 5/5
Friendly stuff, convenient area, nice price
- 5/5
Clean room, great location
- 5/5
The room was clean. Pillows were soft and the view of the water and city was pretty!
- 5/5
Lovely staff, large rooms with everything needed for a long stay, and lots of amenities nearby.
- 3/5
Location is 2-3 further from NU, restaurants, stores, etc. Attached garage is super convenient. Only challenge is you hear the trains from pretty much all rooms - maybe lower/mid levels are breakfast. Breakfast is POOR- dont get it - breakfast places around are great options and cheaper. Finally a couple of the staff members don’t want to be there and don’t want to be disturbed … I am a regular and try to be friendly. I refuse to pay the premium of the others but this property is fine for a night or two or three as long as you know what to expect … get a noise machine … it helps.
- 5/5
It was wonderful as always very helpful as well
- 5/5
Oh the staff is what makes this hotel special! They are so kind and they really go out of their way to help me feel heard!
- 4/5
Clean. Good location.
- 5/5
Friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff who were readily available to help guests with any needs or questions they might have. Excellent breakfast menu, preparation and service. Hotel location convenient to restaurants, tourist spots and public transportation. Very safe neighborhood and again, hotel team able to provide excellent walking directions to sites in the area.
- 2/5
Upon arrival my room was not well cleaned: there were spill and stain marks on the besdiede tables, no toilet paper in the toilet role, a clump of dark hair beside the tub and the sitting chair and ottoman had numberous stains that warranted deep cleaning or simply replacement from overuse.
- 5/5
Parking was convenient and walking distance to the CTA. And in a very quiet safe clean area
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Great location in Evanston.
- 5/5
Perfect place in Chicago area with small town vibes
- 5/5
I had an overall great experience. I especially appreciated that they provided Dove products in the bathroom.
- 5/5
Rooms were cleaned daily which was very nice. Staff was friendly. i will stay here again.
- 5/5
Repeat guest of the hotel
- 5/5
Always a welcoming place to stay. Great location. Quiet comfortable room. Near food and shopping as well as Northwestern U.
- 4/5
Clean room and nice lobby. Appreciated the sundries available. Older property, parking garage uses same entrance and exit, standing water and not well lit.
- 5/5
Friendly staff, room quiet and clean, convenient location
- 3/5
Only coffee was free in AM. Breakfast in restaurant $10 pp. Room was not that clean. Hairs in bathtub. Sheets appeared clean. Countertop and floor in bathroom were not cleaned or mopped.
- 4/5
It’s a nice place, good location, and some of the lowest parking fees for hotels in Chicago area.
- 4/5
Definitely come back
- 5/5
It was great
- 4/5
Some rooms are not for light sleepers for sure, with the nearby trains coming and going constantly. We had to change a room after the first night. The second room is fine. The staff is nice. Marissa changed a room for us immedialy after I requested it.
- 5/5
Very nice hotel with great view, good walking distance to Northwestern and cute Evanston.
- 5/5
This place is our go-to hotel always when we stay in the Chicago area. It’s quiet, has a great staff, and is close to coffee shops, bakeries, and restaurants in Evanston, IL, and also within walking distance to Lake Michigan. The nice-size rooms and even the on-site parking costs a fraction of what Chicago hotels charge. If it’s snowing in the winter we can leave our car and walk just a few steps to the elevated train (Dempster, purple line) to ride to the city. Close to Northwestern U and reasonably close to Loyola U. Way more peaceful and economics than staying in the city.
- 5/5
Great breakfast, great staff, reasonable parking,
- 5/5
Check in was pleasant and efficient. All pertinent info was shared. Room was on an upper floor with view of downtown Chicago. Room was clean, bed was wonderful, and view was great.
- 4/5
breakfast was ok. diverter in the shower spout was leaking
- 5/5
Clean and comfortable after a long flight. Breakfast was very good.
- 5/5
I love this hotel. Check-in was pleasant, efficient, and the hotel's amenities were nicely highlighted. I was blessed to be granted a room on the south side ofbthe building
- 4/5
Room was clean and quiet.
- 5/5
Clean rooms. Quiet Stay. Great location for my needs while traveling for business.
- 5/5
Perfect spot since it’s close to the train and walking distance to restaurants and stores.
- 5/5
Staff made this hotel shine. Very friendly and seemed well run. The beds were comfy, the hotel quiet. 4 starts as fitness room was a little rundown, no breakfast included (usually holiday inns include breakfast). But it overall a good place to stay in Evanston- would definitely recommend and stay again
- 4/5
Good location in Evanston, close to Metra and CTA!
- 5/5
Friendly and professional staff. Very clean and neat property
- 4/5
The stay was mostly enjoyable. The check in process left a lot to be desired. I spoke with Lianne (?) who was very unfriendly and less than helpful. She had a bad attitude and was unwilling to help find a solution.
- 5/5
Very happy with our one-night stay. Front-desk staff was excellent and the room was quiet. Will probably return on future visits to Chicago.
- 5/5
Staff was so friendlyat check in and check out!! Room was very clean and ice machines were working which is so important to me.
- 3/5
Room was clean just outdated
- 4/5
Staff very nice

- 1/5
I have never given a bad review. We did not feel safe in the parking or pulling up to the front
- 5/5
The breakfast was okay. The parking ramp cracked me up when going out. It felt like the car was going to flip over or like I was on a rollercoaster ride.
- 5/5
Been coming to this hotel annually for about 20 years now. Staff are always fantastic. Rooms are always clean. The area is great with lots of shopping and plenty of places to eat. Not too far from Northwestern or the lake. Area is quiet and safe. Ramp to parking garage was designed by cenobites. Would keep coming back for another 20 years.
- 5/5
The staff here were so nice. Very clean hotel. Really good location. Amazing value.
- 3/5
The location and price of this hotel, as well as its staff, are great, but the cleaning and condition of the rooms needs to be better. Carpet was filthy at the edges and in the corners, upholstery was badly stained, and we found long hairs (not ours) and lotion rings/scum in our bathtub, which even made it slippery/unsafe.
- 3/5
Didn't get the room I ordered. The staff wasn't very nice.
- 4/5
Stayed just one night here with my mother, daughter, and her friend so my daughter and her friend could attend a concert nearby. Was super happy with the cleanliness of the hotel, the comfort of the beds, and the kind staff. Only minor complaint would be that the doors slam throughout which could be a little frustrating if you are a light sleeper and the parking garage is a little tight and could be really bad for someone with a low to ground car due to the super steep entrance/exit ramp. Lastly, I was under the impression that there was a bar/restaurant on site. Unfortunately, there is only the dining area for the paid breakfast or dinner. Aside from those few minor things, I would highly recommend this place. I will be returning in the summer as it's nice and close to the shore and beaches too.
- 5/5
Clean and great helpful staff
- 5/5
Great hotel! Nice people working there! Nice and clean!
- 5/5
Staff at the front desk were so friendly and accommodating.
- 5/5
The place was clean and the staff was great
- 5/5
Comfy bed and pillows. Clean and modern hotel. Nice hot breakfast buffet at the hotel's restaurant (not included in daily rate).
- 5/5
Yes, clean room. Very very comfortable bed.
- 5/5
Excellent service and location
- 2/5
The room was very dated. There were no extra amenities such as f stops, hair cover, etc. The shower curtain was too short, resulting in the floor getting soaked. The staff neglected to make up our room one day and when we complained we got the runaround saying it must have been our fault that we left the do not disturb sign on, which was not true! They were supposed to deliver towels and coffee and it took two requests for them to comply. They were supposed to put them in the room, instead left everything in a plastic bag hanging from the outside door handle.
- 5/5
Clean, convenient location
- 5/5
Reasonably priced, clean room, great service.
- 5/5
Cameron was very nice and attentive ! Enjoyed the free coffee and paid complementary breakfast option
- 4/5
Pretty outdated hotel, limited TV channels, right next to the train too; but otherwise it was quiet and location is convenient! Easy to Uber everywhere too!
- 4/5
Very clean room, friendly staff.
- 4/5
The rooms are a bit run down, but the staff more than makes up for it with their willingness to go the extra mile for their customers
- 4/5
Great room, pleasant staff
- 5/5
Friendly staff, clean rooms, quiet.
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful front desk desk, parking available
- 3/5
Breakfast was a total flop. Utensils , plates and bowls are super dirty. It was like reusing and never cleaned. Room was good. Sink was not working but they fixed it immediately.
- 5/5
Great location and great value; spacious rooms and friendly front desk staff. With Keurig coffee makers ( just bring your own bottled water ) microwave and mini fridge in the room. Walking distance to stores and restaurants and the train. Affordable breakfast option right in the hotel and a convenience store that is always open. Always my place to stay in Evanston.
- 3/5
Room was good. Lobby and hallways smelled very bad
- 1/5
There was a lot of things that was supposed to be included in the price that we paid attached I have our original bosom we arrived a day late but that does not change the Brussels that was included that we were charged for out of our deposit also I've never seen a hotel went out of hot water it's too many hitting Hidden charges didn't make any sense when I was told I was charged a $100 deposit and things was taken out of deposit like breakfast and supposed to be free I gave keys back and I was supposed to get the $100 back the whole story change just be careful at booking and watch where you stay
- 5/5
Room was very clean and the staff was very nice. Definitely going back there.
- 5/5
Staff was super friendly and professional.
- 1/5
Hotel is outdated. The water in the shower was not hot but lukewarm. Staff was nice but for the price I would stay elsewhere.
- 5/5
Nice rooms, employees and breakfast was good
- 5/5
Comfortable bed, clean room, nice hotel
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable and very pleasant
- 3/5
Sound proof is on the poor side, no free breakfast—must pay ten dollars
- 4/5
Great location. Nice room, friendly staff.
- 2/5
Very noisy
- 5/5
Good stay
- 5/5
All very clean
- 5/5
Maid service was good and parking fees ($18) were relatively affordable.

Room is perfect layout. Magical southern view. Comfy thermostat with real options to control it effectively. Convenient appliances anchor use of space and practical yet pleasant decor
- 3/5

- 5/5
Friendly helpful staff made our two families' stay very enjoyable, by accommodating our request for adjoining rooms, and seamlessly extending our stay when our flights were rescheduled. Our rooms were well appointed, clean, and with great views. Thank you for a very comfortable visit!
- 5/5
Room layout. ! Comfort ! Decor! View! All staff except night time desk woman are superb.
- 5/5
I’ve been heard a few days and did need a repair, the worker was kind and helpful snfbvery polite, the cleaning crew are lovely! I got stuck in elevator and lost!!! They took extra time to help me out, brought me a lovely stack of pretty folded towels when only asked for a couple little hand towels, llady in morning all week at desk deserves 10 stars out of 5! Perhaps she can coach her counterpart in the evenings. The rooms do need a deep clean but I’m ok with it because the view, comfort, layout, decor, location and 99% of staff outweigh the neeecto look close and downs extra time washing walls etc
- 5/5
Came to Evanston for a training & truly was a great location. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly. Loved that there was a microwave in the room. Perfect :) would come back.
- 5/5
It is comfy. Homey. Decor is lovely. View lovely. Surface cleaned but the entire room and fitness center need a deep detail cleaning. Other positive aspects outweigh need of deep clean for me. All but one person at front desk was very welcoming and very helpful. One was downright unwillingunwelcomimng and short. Because I look a meee I think! I have an emergency at my building and can’t stay there so I am not pulled together looking as usual. All in all I do live this property and will always book here if I ever need a near by hotel
- 4/5
Very clean room. Staff was courteous
- 5/5
The room was spotless and the beds were comfortable. The staff accommodated all of my requests: extra blankets and a quiet floor. $18 for parking seems steep to me especially when breakfast also is an extra charge, but I still would recommend staying at this hotel and I will definitely stay here on my next visit!
- 1/5
We got bedbugs from this hotel. We reported it and requested a refund but haven’t heard back in weeks.
- 5/5
Great value! What stood out was clean room, nice bed linens, pillows, Keurig coffeemaker, shower, very friendly staff, very high quality breakfast all can eat buffet only $10! Would definitely stay again and recommend highly..
- 3/5
It was pretty loud due to being close to the train

- 1/5
The room was just OK. The hole in the floor under the wall heater allowed cold air to invade the room. The parking structure is just dangerous.
- 5/5
The staff made us feel like we were visiting family! Exceptional service and conversations.
- 5/5
The room and hotel were very nice with friendly staff. If you are a light sleeper, the train riding by might be an issue. Otherwise, we highly recommend this hotel.
- 4/5
Breakfast was ok but a little disappointing since we had to pay extra for it.
- 5/5
Everything was as it should be. Comfortable stay.
- 5/5
Staff was very courteous. Rooms were comfortable. Breakfast had many options
- 5/5
All of the above.
- 5/5
Nice, clean, safe property
- 2/5
The check in staff was abrupt. There were no amenities. Two bottles water were given, and the rest was $2 a bottle.
- 5/5
Clean room. Staff were courteous, and helpful.I bought amenities.
- 5/5
Great customer service
- 4/5
The staff seemed unclear on my prepaid booking - first they said it included parking (which I thought was true), then they asked for a $250 credit card hold (which seemed strange for a prepaid room) and in the morning when I checked out - they said they could not print receipt but that I would get it by email (which as of almost six hours later I still have not seen). It will be interesting to see what I was actually charged.
- 5/5
The only complaint is it’s next to metro. But the traffic is less frequent in late hours. So it’s not too bad
- 4/5
Decent breakfast for me
- 2/5
Came in early on 12/3, as an ihg member I asked for early check in. Was told I could get in by 12:30pm/1pm. I sat in the lobby, right in front of the front desk for 2 hours while staff gossiped, talked about personal lives, and talked about inappropriate situations as check in staff at a hotel. Finally at 2:45pm after no one checking in on me, I asked if I could finally check in. Again, as an ihg member I expected the free waters and just better customer care overall. Not to mention I use this hotel at least once a month. Overall, terrible stay. No housekeeping for a 3 night stay? Another disappointment
- 3/5
The first room had to be changed out because it was full of cigarette smoke and and smelled horribly. The second room was on the side of the metra and purple line and was noisy until 3am both nights.
- 4/5
Room is clean. Check-in was smooth. Location is little tricky as next to local rail track. Buffet Breakfast was fine. Could be slightly better but overall ok. The guy working at the Breakfast was taking care of everything very well. $18 parking is acceptable. If you are staying less than 12 hours, ask as the list price says, $12.

Staff members
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly. It was a holiday weekend, and the hotel was super clean. Very quiet in the halls, except for someone down the hall who doesn't know how to close a door without slamming it.Would like a quick muffin or piece of fruit to get the morning started rather than going into the restaurant.
- 4/5
The breakfast was still unavailable from when there was a flood several weeks ago.
- 5/5
Great staff
- 4/5
Good service from the front desk clerk. She was courteous and provided great service. Room was clean and the breakfast was really good.
- 4/5
Convenient spot, clean room.
- 3/5
Very disappointed in all the additional fees added to my bill. Not what I expected when I made the reservation. Will not stay at this property again.
- 4/5
clean room, comfortable bed, courteous and friendly staff.
- 5/5
Walls are not noise proof at all. I was waken up by the music from next door at 6 in the morning.
- 3/5
Small cramped room
- 5/5
They have a great breakfast, buffet style, at a great price! Staff are also friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Our room was one of the largest we have ever stayed in. King size bed and also a very comfortable sofa to watch a nice TV.
- 5/5
No breakfast setvice available due to construction as they claimed
- 1/5
The hotel was in rough condition. The parking garage was full of leaks which left huge puddles of water and ice near parking spaces. The elevator connecting the garage to the hotel was down. The room where breakfast was served needed renovations and finally I had flea bites when I returned home.
- 5/5
Staff is very courteous and accommodating. Room was clean and comfortable.

- 5/5
all of the above
- 5/5
There is microwave in the room, and breakfast is cheap and good
- 4/5
The front desk service was excellent. It's a great hotel to stay up
- 4/5
Friendly staff! Convenient location! Comfortable mattresses!
- 5/5
Great place to stay!
- 4/5
The staffs are great overall. The receptionist Mustafa is particularly helpful and friendly. The hotel is good for the price, will definitely come back again. Breakfast is just ok.
- 1/5
People screaming, crying and fighting in the hallway until 1 am. Banging on doors and walls. Slamming doors. The hotel tried charging my card for $137 and $215, both in the middle of the night at different times and on both nights.
- 5/5
Very clean rooms, nice staff
- 3/5
Receptionist was quite abrupt. The hotel feels old and tired; it urgently needs an upgrade. It’s also unacceptable that hotel guests need to pay for parking, since street parking is not an option. I have never heard of any such thing in any other hotel!
- 5/5
Spotless and awesome room service
- 5/5
Everything was great! From the check-in, the cleanliness of the room, to checkout. The staff was welcoming and friendly! The only complaint that my husband had was that the biscuits were hard.
- 3/5
Good location in Evanston; however, it is near train tracks, and we could definitely hear the train going by. The exercise room left a lot to be desired. We felt safe but were surprised that the restrooms were locked and needed to go to the front desk for a key.
- 4/5
Staff was friendly and great to deal with
- 5/5
Wonderful bed, great sleep, nice and quiet:)
- 5/5
great location, nice staff, spotless room
- 3/5
Clean comfortable bed, a little smelly and cold floors.
- 5/5
Great views of the city
- 4/5
Overall it was a nice stay. Beautiful view from the room.
- 4/5
Rooms were nice, area is great, staff was friendly
- 4/5
Parking was horrible
- 5/5
Only issue was all the snow on the rooftop parking. Other than that we had a great stay. Room was nice and warm and smelled good.
- 4/5
The parking ramp roof floors (which account for half of the available parking) were left unplowed a full week after major snow storm, which made for terrible parking and walking conditions in 4-6 inches of snow. This was compounded by the night we stayed, a fresh snow of an additional 6 inches fell, so in some places there is 10-12 inches of snow. Even with an AWD vehicle, I still got stuck! I had to have a maintenance person come and shovel out behind my tires. Extremely inconvenient and disappointing since I paid for parking.
- 4/5
Great location to walk and shop around Evanston. Nice, clean hotel with very helpful, friendly staff. Parking was additional charge but reasonable and convenient. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.
- 5/5
The room was clean and well provided with room amenities. The only problem of concern was the periodic start up of the heating unit.
- 3/5
Charged me for parking had no parking inside I go to upstairs lot is covered by a foot of snow and when I brought it up he told me I can drive over the snow yes I know I can but if I’m paying you for a parking spot it should at the very least be clear of snow hadn’t snowed in 4 days
- 5/5
La vista a la ciudad muy bello
- 5/5
Room was good, staff was courteous, breakfast was good.
- 5/5
Nice area
- 4/5
Daily room cleaning. Attentive front desk. Decent buffet.
- 4/5
Clean room, comfortable beds, good bathroom, friendly and responsive staff. At $18/night, though, the parking is overpriced, especially for an old garage hat has narrow parking spots and is prone to leaks.
- 5/5
Convenient for relatives
- 5/5
Yes yes
- 5/5
Courteous staff, clean room and comfortable bed.
- 4/5
Comfortable room, friendly staff, very clean
- 5/5
Everything was clean and staff efficient and friendly. Will definitely stay again
- 5/5
I loved it
- 5/5
Location was great room was clean parking was great
- 4/5
Great staff , clean room
- 3/5
The check in staff was not too welcoming, overall the premises were clean and comfortable.
- 4/5
A bit old but overall good, easy parking
- 5/5
Staff was AWESOME! When I checked in there were two women at the desk, both were very friendly and helpful! The hotel was very clean. The location is highly walkable and feels safe. I selected a city view room and was able to check in a little early.
- 5/5
Nice place
- 4/5
I did nit have the breakfast.
- 5/5
Modern facility; beds and pillows were comfortable; parking is convenient; TONs of food options within walking distance.
- 4/5
Nice comfortable room. AC/Heat/fan not the most pleasant to listen to though.
- 5/5
Luke , who works at the front desk , is amazing !
- 3/5
The morning? What?
- 3/5
I chose that hotel because it was convenient
- 4/5
The room was very clean and the bed was excellent
- 3/5
Shower drain extremely slow, had to physically hold plug up to drain. Parking fee for customers?? Breakfast of this type is complimentary at other chaines. Refused vetrans discount because of " prebooked" on veterans day much less! Staff not nescessarily rude, byt surely not friendly! However, housekeeping staff was exceptional, including friendly
- 5/5
Clean room, nice location, friendly staff and great breakfast
- 5/5
Staff are friendly, bed was comfortable, & location is great for our needs.
- 4/5
Nice view of the city Overall, a good hotel experience
- 4/5
Staff was very nice. Property could be cleaner. Seems small but the arm rests and table/ dresser tops were covered in a layer of dust.
- 4/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful - easy parking and a clean, safe environment. I would stay here again!
- 5/5
Nice staff, comfortable stay, great breakfast
- 5/5
Clean room, helpful staff, great view!
- 5/5
The room was nice, and the bed was very comfortable. The light switch in the bathroom hidden under the towels (towel bar) was a bit hard to find at first. Seems like a dumb place to put a light switch.
- 5/5
I have stayed here often. It is just a great place to stay.
- 4/5
Clean, quiet, and in a very nice neighborhood close to restaurants and coffee shop within walking distance. Parking was easy, and checking and checkout was seamless. I was surprised to hear the train one block away and yet, I slept three nights and never heard it during my sleep or kept me up.
- 5/5
The hotel lobby was in great condition and very clean. The hotel room was comfortable and well maintained. The carpet in the room was cleaned well with no smells. The ice and vending machines were working. I enjoyed the numerous cable channels and WiFi. There are many restaurants in the area that deliver food but will need to meet the delivery person for the food. In order to use the elevator you have to scan your key. Breakfast was very reasonable but there were no healthy options. The outside was a little confusing as what door to enter, but overall for the price it was worth it. The breakfast staff was not the most welcoming. The male greeter was not friendly and the female said nothing. My first concern was the shower and toilet were not disability friendly. Tub was slippery when wet toilet was super low to the floor which was difficult to manage with painful knees. My second, concern was the area where the hotel is located has changed since the last time I was in the area. I would be careful walking around alone if you are a female. Overall, this is the first hotel I encountered on your site that was not deceptive in its handling of its business.
- 5/5
Good for one night stay. Walkable area
- 5/5
Clean room. Desk clerk very helpful!!
- 5/5
Everything went by smoothly.
- 5/5
Very helpful staff to the desk.
- 5/5
The hotel was very clean and an excellent value. Staff was very friendly. Shout out to Mustafa!
- 4/5
Everything worked well except parking explanation. Seemed to be plenty of street parking nearby, the message was we were parking perilously ticket-wise.
- 5/5
The room was clean, view of Evanston was superb, checkin and checkout were easy. Great hotel with comfortable beds.
- 5/5
everything went well except parking perception
- 3/5
The hotel is great. It’s a great location. The rooms are nice. The bed was very comfortable, but our air conditioning didn’t work. We were very hot someone from the adjoining room try to open our doors as soon as we went to sleep it woke us up. we were all settled in to the room before we realize the air conditioner didn’t work and we thought it would be too much to move rooms. We should have because the hotel did not compensate us in anyway we would stay there again, but we would make sure that our air conditioner worked.
- 5/5
We've stayed at this hotel more than once. It's in a great area. Clean and comfortable rooms. Great staff. We will stay again.
- 5/5
Staff are friendly and location is perfect.
- 5/5
The room was huge, comfortable and clean!! Definitely we will return to this hotel!!
- 5/5
Staff was very friendly
- 5/5
Staff was great. Room was clean. Only concern was that I didn’t have linen for the bed in the couch and the mattress needs to be replaced
- 2/5
Also the coffee served in the lobby in the morning might as well have been brown water and came with 6 ounce Styrofoam cups NO Lids. Basically take your few sips of coffee while standing there - forget taking it back to the room. Overall a subpar experience!
- 5/5
Highly recommended! I do not have any complaints about my stay at this location. 🙂
- 4/5
Pros - easy walk to the University, lots of great little restaurants nearby (Mr Cachito is great for coffee and pastry, Soulwich makes great unique sandwiches).
- 4/5
Good location
- 5/5
Staff was very polite and helpful. No complaints during our stay. I really recommend the hotel.
- 5/5
Very close to the train...depending on your room you can hear it go by but it wasnt a deal breaker for us. The hotel was clean and in a super convenient area! Housekeeping even refilled our coffee with extra pods when we used them all on day 1
- 3/5
The hotel needs a serious update. The halls look like something out of the 70's. I had to move from the first room because the bathroom smelled like mold. I can't believe that they wanted to charge me over $600.00 a night for being there on a Saturday. The place looks like a run down motel off the highway. However, the staff were friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Rooms were very nice. Housekeeing service everyday. All staff at hotel was friendly and very helpful with any questions I had. Parking garage on site.
- 5/5
Very clean and quiet. Pleasant and capable staff. Comfortable room
- 5/5
Staff was great, they were incredibly friendly with us. Breakfast was very good and they had many healthy options. Overall a great hotel to stay at!
- 5/5
Friendly staff
- 4/5
Everything was lovely except I would say this place is not handicap friendly in the parking lot entrance to hotel
- 5/5
Ok
- 4/5
Quite| Beautiful Neighborhood|Good Breakfast
- 3/5
The room was Clean but the front desk staff were not friendly and not professional.
- 2/5
Stayed for four nights, and requested two times for cleaning, and the cleaning lady only did once. She pretended not understanding English and was Very unfriendly. Old and tired mattress and pillows and towels. Microwave is the only plus. Paid $350 per night for the NU family weekend. Not worth the money.
- 5/5
Great customer service!! Very convenient location and easy parking!! Wish hotel have more amenities, such as restaurants and bars😅
- 2/5
Terrible water pressure, very noisy neighbors, not worth the money
- 3/5
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet, nearly empty? Perhaps because the rates were very very expensive for so far out of the city. At least they could include the $18 parking along with the $400 per night rate.
- 5/5
We ended up loving staying up on a top floor. Lakeview. Beautiful sunrise and moonrise!
- 4/5
My only problem was noise from the train.
- 4/5
Ive stayed many times at this location always happy ,but this time alot of door slaming between 12-1:30 am so I didnt get a good rest .I was in room 505 ..
- 3/5
A/c and heat was very loud as was the nose from the El train nearby.
- 2/5
The lobby is really nice. The upstairs rooms and hallways look like a bad motel/hotel. It smelled strongly like air fresheners. It has stairs to get into from the street. The parking garage was having lighting problems and was extremely dark even during the day. We ended up just leaving and staying somewhere else. It did seem relatively clean but did not feel safe or nice. The area around the hotel seemed fine - open/clean/safe.
- 5/5
Great price and great location
- 5/5
I have been in this hotel many time due is one block from Rotary International Head Quarter Offices,
- 4/5
The part I did not care for was a sound of trains during the night. Other than that, it was fine.
- 4/5
Clean room and great location for touring Northwestern University
- 4/5
Very central location, basic but comfortable
- 5/5
The place is absolutely beautiful & glad I got the view room. Definitely will stay there again.
- 3/5
Ok in general.
- 4/5
I had two different experiences. On the first night I was on the 12th floor in a room next to the elevator and facing the El tracks. It was noisy and the climate control didn't work well. The next morning I asked to switch and the very nice desk person moved me to a room not next to the elevator and facing the other way. That room was so quiet and peaceful! So beware if you are noise sensitive--staying on the El side is very noisy.
- 4/5
The walls are paper thin with the adjoining rooms. You will hear way too much. I had to turn the fans on constant. The beds are comfortable, and the staff are very nice. The wallpaper could definitely use updating, but nothing unusual for hotels in that pricd range these days. The area has a-lot of very cute restaurants so walking for meals is nice and very doable. It’s also a nice walk to Northwestern U.
- 3/5
It could've been a little cleaner, there was lots of dust on the lamps in our room and buildup of dirt and molded in little corners in the bathroom. I requested towels once and told they were being brought up, but they never came. I ended up just getting some from the housekeeping cart. The second time I asked to have towels sent up I was told I would need to pick them up from the front desk. I probably would not stay here again with the exception of an overnight trip and a few other options.
- 5/5
Staff was always smiling and greeting me from the moment I got there. Even though my room was by the vending machine and near the elevator, the room was nice and quiet. The suite I rented would be perfect for a bridal party to get ready in (I was in for a wedding while I stayed). Super easy to hop on the El (train) or Metra, and close to may yummy restaurants.
- 5/5
Overall a pretty good experience
- 2/5
overcharged for breakfast after I left the property
- 5/5
Clean room. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast buffet and great city view.
- 3/5
Dated room with dents in the wall. Hairs in the toilet up on checking in. Otherwise, clean enough. Comfortable bed. Nice view north from the 11th floor.Admjacent parking garage.
- 5/5
Clean, comfortable room, friendly staff, and good location for visiting Northwestern University.
- 5/5
Clean room comfortable bed
- 5/5
We didn’t stay here long as we got in at 9
- 4/5
Very clean and well located. Friendly, helpful service. Decent rooms.
- 4/5
Room was clean but the refrigerator didn't work
- 5/5
Staff great
- 4/5
Proximity to the university
- 5/5
I've stayed here many times while my daughter has been a student at Northwestern. The staff is always very friendly, and the rooms are larger than others in Evanston. Some of the fittings are a bit old (A/C is a little loud) but in good working order. The location and parking is great.
- 5/5
Staff were super thorough and friendly. Property and room were clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was great as well
- 5/5
Great short business stay.
- 5/5
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They greated me every time that I would walk in. A very nice hotel in a lovely area.
- 4/5
Very nice helpful people.
- 3/5
Too much smell in louby and in room carpet.
- 5/5
Great front desk staff.
- 5/5
The lobby staff were great! Nice, helpful and great eating suggestions.
- 5/5
the breakfast was great !
- 5/5
The staff...24/7 absolute perfection. Friendly and polite as well as ultra helpful in all ways. They went out of their way to make my stay very pleasant and memorable.
- 4/5
Quiet and convenient location for walking to shops, restaurants, and transportation. Very good and reasonably priced breakfast buffet. Appreciated that our room had a safe, frig, and microwave.
- 4/5
The service here is impeccable. Tip if you are an IHG member you get a discount on parking. The rooms are older but it’s totally walkable to the south part of NU’s campus, unless the weather isn’t cooperative.
- 3/5
Hotel close to our event. The parking garage was free but the only entrance & exit into the garage was a 45 degree short steep ramp that I could not see in front of my car! I had to make a quick left as I was driving up the ramp. The first level for handicapped parking has no lights! Totally dark & unsafe. The L train tracks were across the street & a train ran by about every 8-10 minutes… even at 1:30am! We were on the 11 th floor, & the train sounded like it was coming through the wall!! Sound proof windows would help but would be very expensive! The hotel main entrance is so small, up a flight of stairs & hard to find. No where to park while checking in. No valet to help with bags. Front desk check in was good.
- 3/5
Not so good: pool closed, broken bike machine in gym, some free weights missing, awkward design in room with two queen bedroom that had small bathroom and only one chair, ice machine on different floor.
- 4/5
Staff was really nice. The property is a little rundown
- 3/5
Pro - nice area, lots of food choices in short walking distance.
- 5/5
Thank you
- 2/5
I can't believe I paid what I did to stay here. Upon arriving, we had to switch rooms within 5 hours because our shower was broken. In the pic you can see there is clearly something wrong, but it was left for the guest (or us) to find. We were moved to a smaller room for unfortunately the same amount of money. Their doors have no give on them and slam shut when let go, so loudly it shakes your room. You have to pay for breakfast here. Paying almost $180 does NOT earn you breakfast. The hotel is in need of a major renovation in the rooms department. I won't ever stay here again. The only reason they can charge what they can is because it's in Evanston.
- 5/5
I wanted to be in a location with walkable access to Northwestern and worried, a little, that this hotel would be too far south (I was traveling with my 80 year old parents). It really wasn't too far from the hive of activity for us to walk, and we felt safe navigating the area. The hotel was clean. The room service didn't come on one of the days, which was less of a concern for me and a bigger concern for my parents who want everything "just so" all the time. But we were there for five nights and, overall, the rooms were cleaned in a timely manner and the hotel was clean and safe. We also liked the very convenient garage parking. With an IHG membership, the parking only cost us $9 per night.
- 4/5
The hotel was clean and in good shape. The convenience of its closeness to campus and to downtown Evanston restaurants were both definite perks.
- 4/5
Parking tight and very steep. Wall shook when someone slammed door down the hall.
- 4/5
Love the location! Wish there is a bar and more dinning options on site.
- 3/5
Pool not working, parking fees, breakfast not included
- 3/5
Adequate hotel but needs an update. Some moldy smell of unidentifiable origin in bathroom. Mats in elevator tagged, parking lot needs a power wash and more lighting.
- 3/5
service
- 2/5
Room service did not come at all during my two nights stay, the front desk did not do anything about it when I went and talked to them about it.
- 3/5
They have no usb ports installed in their rooms. Modern hotels have these and even older hotels have been retrofitted.
- 1/5
Unsafe parking and rude staff.
- 2/5
I was very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The facilities are extremely outdated. Most of the power outlets in the room were broken, and the phone didn’t work so I couldn’t even contact the front desk. The chairs in the room were full of stains and looked very dirty. On top of that, there were no toiletries provided at all. To make things worse, the front desk staff at night was very rude and unhelpful, which made the experience even more unpleasant. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
- 5/5
Comfortable and clean room in a nice location.
- 5/5
Very friendly staff and super clean rooms. The parking lot is a little steep and dark. Great stay
- 5/5
The front desk staff is amazing! They are so friendly and helpful. The team member who was working on Friday, September 5 around 4 PM is absolutely amazing. He is so helpful every time I stay at your Evanston location.
- 5/5
Staff was friendly and helpful.
- 5/5
Would stay here again
- 2/5
The stay was okay for one night!! Limited options for food/snacks! No vending machines! The clerk did not make me aware there was a charge for breakfast during check in
- 3/5
It’s an ok stay. Hotel need some updating and upgrades.
- 5/5
Great location, easy parking, safe neighborhood, friendly staff.
- 3/5
Property was clean but needs a major update & some maintenance. The parking lot is not in the best shape, very darkn and it is difficult to access lobby with luggage from parking.
- 5/5
At the front desk the person wasn’t much helpful at all . I book for one night but he was telling me I book for 2night even I show him my confirmation he is very rude. I even contacted Expedia to make sure I have for one night and they did confirm. Need some improvement on that
- 4/5
Overall, the property was in good condition. Everything was clean. The staff was very friendly parking was very accessible. The dining options were very close by. I would stay here again.
- 3/5
Good
- 4/5
Reasonable walking distance from the L train station heading into Chicago. The Holiday Inn sign is small and the tree in front of the sign made it difficult to find.
- 5/5
It was fantastic! We chose this location because of the price compared to many other options around this same area and closer to downtown Chicago. It was much cheaper, but just as nice, if not better, than staying closer to the venue. The best part was it was within walking distance (less than 5 mins) to a train station, which takes you right to The Loop within the hour. *** I will advise though, if going to a show at Soldier Field, leave earlier than you think you'll need to! The buses get backed up near the venue the closer it gets to the show. Beds were very comfortable, room was spotless, and staff were incredibly nice. I felt very safe at this location as a female in my 20s, even at 1 am when we were coming back after the show. Very quiet, nice neighborhood. Parking was a breeze. I definitely recommend the breakfast as well! It was well worth the additional cost. Thank you for a great stay!
- 4/5
Good locale
- 3/5
The property is going down hill. The pool was closed, the covered garage area was very dark and scummy. Hardly any lighting and soiled hosiery. I was overwhelmed by the smell of earthy colgne;-). The carpet in the lobby was visibly stained. Looks like they gave up maintaining the hard assets in that structure.
- 3/5
During our 3 night stay, our room was never cleaned
- 4/5
Easy to find
- 5/5
Room was clean and comfy!
- 5/5
Great rooms Very spacious. Helpful staff at the front desk Would absolutely recommend this Hôtel
- 5/5
Great property located in North Chicago & close to NW. Highly recommend!
- 4/5
The location of this hotel was phenomenal! Close to a lot of restaurants, shopping, and the train. It was an older hotel and I disliked the parking ramp, but it was a reasonable hotel in a good location.
- 3/5
Basic room with a comfortable bed.
- 4/5
Parking ramp seemed a little dirty
- 5/5
Front desk (Mustafa) very friendly and helpful. Room very clean. Hotel nice and close to walk to shops/coffee/restaurants
- 4/5
Friendly workers, great breakfast.... minorly outdated, safe enough area, Pool/hot tub is not open at this location anymore. Workout area was subpar, but at least they had one.
- 5/5
I like that there was a place to park. I didn’t like that you had to pay for parking even though mine was reimbursed. Also, I was charged an additional fee when my room was completely paid before check-in.
- 5/5
Loved the location. Only caveat is $18 per night for parking
- 5/5
Good
- 4/5
Hotel and room were nice. Loud train goes by all hours, so bring a sound machine. Hotel is a bit out dated but clean and the bed was comfortable.
- 3/5
Nice area, carpet in my room was dirty and damp. Overall the property can use a bit facelift
- 4/5
The breakfast for 10$ was really great. I wish there was coffee available in the lobby for those who don’t want breakfast. Coffe in the room wasn’t great but do-able. Great price and great location!
- 4/5
The workout room was being cleaned during the day and I couldn’t use it one day.
- 5/5
Great stay, great staff and walking distance to restaurants, shops and the EL
- 5/5
All ok 👍
- 4/5
O
- 5/5
We had a great stay here! Check in was pleasant. Staff was so nice. Room was clean. Will definitely stay here again.
- 4/5
I enjoy my stay very clean and staff I very nice and friendly.
- 5/5
Hotel staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable.
- 4/5
Our stay was fro pleasure. We loved the proximity to the train station. It was relatively clean and quite quiet. The breakfast was ok for the price, but nothing more than what you get for free at most places. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.
- 4/5
Northwestern is right up the street easy to get to from purple line
- 5/5
Very helpful and friendly staff. Wonderful breakfast buffett. Gorgeous view out window.
- 4/5
Overall, the stay was good. The hotel needs some updating and more cleaning. My bed was very comfortable and the buffet breakfast was very good. The desk staff were very nice and helpful. Great location to the nearby restaurants and lake. Parking garage needs a complete remodel.
- 4/5
Location was very solid and had plenty to do.
- 2/5
The room and bathroom were small and cramped, and staff charged unnecessary extra taxes. Overall not a good experience, especially for those traveling with family.
- 5/5
Clean, convenient, and comfortable, without being over-priced
- 4/5
We loved everything about this hotel and its surroundings.
- 4/5
good
- 4/5
Great location in Evanston. Purple line train runs and is noisy frequently. Elevator is very slow. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parking is good.
- 4/5
This property is a good value for the money. It's clean and safe with easy parking. Evanston is easily accessible, with plenty of walkable neighborhoods. I was happy with my stay.
- 3/5
Overall ok, a bit outdated and I hated the window AC unit, very loud. Staff was not consistently friendly, depending on staff on duty and time of day.
- 5/5
The hotel desk employees were kind and helpful and our room was nice. You could hear the purple line from our side of the building (which runs early and late) but it didn’t keep us from sleeping -we were so tired from our days’ adventures!
- 5/5
Bed was comfortable
- 4/5
Close to town
- 4/5
It was a very good stay. Friendly personnel. Was disappointed that the pool was out of order.
- 2/5
Overall appearance in my room was lackluster, peeling wallpaper around shower. Dirty dishes in clean pile and cold coffee for over priced breakfast which was an added fee
- 5/5
No complaints!
- 5/5
The pool isn’t currently in use
